I'VE HAD 5 DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS FAIL ON MY 4 DOOR TACOMA. BOTH PASSENGER SIDE LOCKS WERE INOPERATIVE AT THE SAME TIME. WHEN THE DOOR LOCKS FAIL, THE ELECTRONIC LOCKS AND KEYLESS ENTRY DO NOT WORK. THE PASSENGER-SIDE DOORS DO NOT HAVE A KEY-HOLE BACKUP, MEANING THAT ITS NOT POSSIBLE TO UNLOCK THOSE DOORS WITHOUT HAVING TO CRAWL THROUGH THE VEHICLE FROM THE DRIVER'S SIDE. IF I NEEDED TO GET A CHILD OUT OF THE BACK-SEAT QUICKLY, THAT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE.
VEHICLE INTERMITTENTLY STARTED TO NOT START. INITIALLY BAD FUEL PUMP WAS FOUND. VEHICLE REFUSED TO START 10 DAYS AFTER REPAIR, BURNT PIN AT THE FUEL PUMP HARNESS WAS FOUND.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO TOYOTA OF NORTH CHARLOTTE (13429 STATESVILLE RD, HUNTERSVILLE, NC 28078) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART TO DO THE REPAIR WAS ON BACKORDER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 TOYOTA TACOMA. WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO MAKE A RIGHT TURN, THE STEERING WHEEL BEGAN TO PULL IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL NOISE EMITTING FROM THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS CONTACTED BY TELEPHONE AND THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V054000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL); HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FAILURE RECURRED FOUR TIMES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 56,000.
WHEN COMING TO AN ABRUPT STOP, THE TRANSMISSION WILL SLIP INTO NEUTRAL AND WILL NOT REENGAGE FIRST GEAR UNTIL THE ENGINE REACHES 1.5K RPM AND JOLTING THE TRUCK FORWARD. THE TRUCK WILL THEN NOT SHIFT INTO FIFTH GEAR AND THE TRACTION CONTROL OFF WARNING LIGHT COMES ON UNTIL THE TRUCK HAS BEEN SHUT OFF.

THE CONTACT HAS POSSESSION OF VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 104,905.
SUN VISORS FAIL TO STAY IN THE UP POSITION. WITH NORMAL USE, THE SUN VISORS BEGIN TO STAY ABOUT HALFWAY DOWN AND FALL FURTHER WITH TIME. EVENTUALLY, THEY NO LONGER GO UP AT ALL AND MAY POSE A RISK TO THE DRIVER'S VISION.
I HAVE HAD 8 ELECTRIC DOOR LOCKS FAIL IN THE LAST THREE YEARS
MY 2013 TOYOTA TACOMA 4 CYLINDER TRUCK, WHILE IN MOTION, INTERMITTENTLY ACCELERATES, WITHOUT WARNING, FOR A FEW BRIEF SECONDS THEN CORRECT IT SELF. THIS ACCELERATION HAPPENS WITHOUT THE DRIVER INITIATING THE ACCELERATION BY PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING FOR ABOUT 1-1/2 YEARS. FOR APPROXIMATELY THE PAST 4 MONTHS (JULY - NOV 2016) THE ENGINE REVS UP TO HIGHER REVOLUTIONS, IMMEDIATELY AFTER ENGAGING THE IGNITION, WHILE STILL IN PARK. IT'S AS IF I WAS DELIBERATELY PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR IMMEDIATELY AFTER STARTING THE ENGINE, WHILE IT WAS STILL IN THE PARK POSITION. IN FACT I HAD NOT PRESSED ON THE ACCELERATOR. WHEN I HAD IT CHECKED OUT, I WAS TOLD THAT'S THE WAY TOYOTAS START. IT WAS AFTER THE TRUCK BEGAN TO BOLT/ACCELERATE AT A HIGH SPEED AFTER GOING FROM A PARK POSITION TO EITHER A REVERSE OR DRIVE POSITION, IMMEDIATELY AFTER RELEASING THE BRAKES, AND NOT PRESSING ON THE ACCELERATOR, THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 25, 2016 THAT I REPORTED THE ISSUES TO THE TOYOTA CUSTOMER CARE EXPERIENCE CENTER, IN PLANO, TEXAS (CASE NUMBERS: 161 027 1958 AND 161 110 2063) . BALLENTINE TOYOTA, IN GREENWOOD, S. C. INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND DROVE IT ABOUT 300 MILES AND REPORTED TO ME THAT NO PROBLEMS WERE FOUND. AFTER GETTING THE VEHICLE BACK NOV, 4, 2016, NOTHING HAPPENED FOR AWHILE, THEN ON NOV., 9, 2016 IT WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO ACCELERATE FOR A FEW SECONDS AFTER DRIVING ABOUT 9 YARDS. THE FIRST TIME THE TRUCK DID NOT ALLOW ME TO ACCELERATE WAS ON OCT. 25,2016, WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO ACCELERATE TO 55 MPH. AFTER ABOUT 20 MILES I WAS FINALLY ABLE TO REACH 55 MPH. ON NOV., 10, 2016 THE TRUCK BOLTED/ACCELERATED AS I ATTEMPTED TO LEAVE A PARKING LOT WHILE OUT SHOPPING. I LEFT IT IN THE PARKING LOT AT THE STORE WHERE I WAS SHOPPING. IT REMAINS THERE AS OF THIS WRITING NOVEMBER 14, 2016. UPDATED 06/26/2017*JS
2013 TACOMA, FROM PARKED POSITION, STARTED TRUCK, RELEASE PARKING BRAKE, FOOT ON BRAKE PEDAL, SHIFTED TO DRIVE, ACCELERATED, MOVE ABOUT 5-10 FEET TRUCK ACTED AS IF BRAKES HAD BEEN APPLIED, WOULD NOT MOVE. I PLACED TRUCK IN PARK POSITION SHIFTED TO DRIVE AND PROCEEDED AS NORMAL. THIS HAPPENED TWO MORE TIMES THAT SAME DAY ABOUT 20 MINUTES APART.
SUN VISOR HOLDING MECHANISM HAS BROKEN INTERNALLY. THIS CAUSES THE VISOR TO FLOP DOWN BLOCKING MY VISION. THERE IS NO STABLE POSITION THAT DOES NOT BLOCK ABOUT A THIRD OF THE WINDSHIELD. THIS FAILURE IS COMMON ON SEVERAL AUTOMOTIVE FORUMS ON THE WEB. IT HAS BEEN THAT WAY AS FAR BACK AS 2008. THIS IS LONG STANDING SAFETY PROBLEM IN TOYOTA VEHICLE. PERHAPS TOYOTA COULD BE ENCOURAGED TO DEAL WITH IT.
I HAVE BEEN RUNNING THE SAME WHEELS AND TIRES ON THE VEHICLE SINCE IT WAS BRAND NEW, RUNNING 17" ALUMINUM WHEELS WITH A 10- PLY RATED 265/70/17 MICHELIN LT WHICH IS A STANDARD SIZE FOR THIS VEHICLE. AT ABOUT 47,000 MILES THE TRACTION CONTROL ON MY TACOMA STARTED ACTING UP BADLY MAKING IT VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE ON MOUNTAIN ROADS WITH SUPER-ELEVATED TURNS. BASICALLY THE TRUCK THINKS IT IS SLIDING WHEN IT'S NOT EVEN CLOSE TO BREAKING LOOSE AT 35 MPH. THE SENSORS OR COMPUTER IS FAILING CAUSING THE RIGHT FRONT OR LEFT FRONT WHEEL TO PULSE (APPLY BRAKE PRESSURE) WHICH RESULTS IN THE VEHICLE PULLING IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION I AM STEERING. THIS IS AT LOW SPEED 35 TO 40 MPH. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND I EXPLAINED THAT THE VEHICLE IS 'PULLING ME ACROSS THE CENTER LINE INTO ON COMING TRAFFIC WHICH COULD CAUSE A HEAD ON COLLISION AND I GOT NO RESPONSE OTHER THAN " IF MY SHOP FOREMAN TELLS ME THE TRUCK IS OPERATING AS DESIGNED THERE IS NOTHING MORE WE CAN DO OR YOU. WHEN I CALLED IT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE SERVICE MANAGER AND SHOP FOREMAN AT NORTHRIDGE TOYOTA, I WAS TOLD THE VEHICLE SHOWS NO ERRORS SO THE TRUCK IS "OPERATING AS DESIGNED' AND THEIR SUGGESTION WAS TO DEACTIVATE THE TRACTION CONTROL FROM NOW ON, EACH TIME I DRIVE A MOUNTAIN ROAD. I EXPLAINED THAT THEY WERE ASKING ME TO DEACTIVATE THE ON BOARD SAFETY MEASURES ON THE VEHICLE IN ORDER TO DRIVE THE TRUCK IN THE HIGHEST RISK DRIVING CONDITIONS, THEY AGAIN SAID THE TRUCK WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED AND THAT I SHOULD NOT EXPECT THEIR TO BE ANY REPAIRS MADE. THIS IS ABSOLUTELY INEXCUSABLE. THEY WENT ON TO SUGGEST I SEEK A SECOND OPINION AT ANOTHER DEALER AND THEY SENT ME DOWN THE ROAD IN MY TRUCK EVEN THOUGH I TOLD THEM THE SYMPTOMS, DUPLICATED THE PROBLEM WITH SHOP FOREMAN IN THE TRUCK AND MOST IMPORTANTLY THAT THE TRUCK WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE. FASCINATING!!!

THE BRAKE PEDAL REQUIRED TO BE DEPRESSED VIOLENTLY IN ORDER FOR THE VEHICLE TO COME TO A STOP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. ENGINE AND TRAC OFF WARNING LIGHTS ILLUMINATE FOR VARIOUS DURATION TWO DAYS OR MORE THEN SHUT OFF AFTER DRIVING SOMETIMES.
MY HORN STOPPED WORKING AND WHEN I TOOK MY TRUCK TO THE DEALER HE SAID THAT IT WAS THE CLOCK SPRING CABLE INSIDE OF THE STEERING WHEEL. THE SERVICE AGENT DANIEL ARVIZA AT NORTH BAKERSFIELD TOYOTA IN BAKERSFIELD CALIFORNIA ADVISED ME THAT IF I DIDN'T GET IT FIXED THAT THE AIRBAG COULD FAIL TO DEPLOY IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT. THIS SEEMS LIKE A IMPORTANT PART OF THE TRUCK TO FAIL AFTER ONLY 3 YEARS. I BOUGHT THE TRUCK NEW FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND THE WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. IT'S GOING TO COST ALMOST 500 DOLLARS, BUT BECAUSE IT IS A SAFETY ISSUE I HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO HAVE THE PART REPLACED.
AT AROUND 40,000 MILES MY TIRES STARTED CUPPING, I PUT ON NEW TIRES WITH WHEEL ALIGNMENT, AT 55,000 MILES I NOTICED MY REAR HAD A HARDER RIDE THAN USUAL AND SEEMED TO BOTTOM OUT ON BUMPS. AGAIN WITH 85,000 MILES (30K ON NEW TIRES) TIRES WERE CUPPED AND REALIZED IT AFTER I SPUN OUT IN THE RAIN. I WENT TO THE MECHANIC AND HE SAID YOU HAVE WEAK REAR LEAF SPRINGS AND 1 LEAF BROKEN CLOSE TO GAS TANK, HE SAID THERE WAS A LEAF SPRING RECALL ON THE 2011'S AND PRIOR WITH 3 LEAF PACKS (WHICH I HAVE) , 2 SETS OF TIRES AND NOW SPRINGS COST ME THOUSANDS, WHY AREN'T ALL TACOMAS WITH 3 PACK LEAF SPRINGS RECALLED?
WE HIT BLACK ICE AND SPUN FLIPPED INTO A DITCH ONTO THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE TRUCK AIRBAG DEPLOYED ON THE PASSENGER SIDE THE AIRBAG CAUGHT ON FIRE CATCHING THE WHOLE TRUCK ON FIRE.
MASSIVE SQUEAKING NOISE COMING FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT SUSPENSION. TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE REPLACED THE UPPER A-ARM AND A CORRODED BOLT THAT'S IN AN AREA THAT WATER CAN'T GET INTO. NOISE WENT AWAY FOR A MONTH AND NOW HAS RETURNED. IN THE SAME AREA. AFTER GETTING SOME INFORMATION FROM A SUSPENSION MECHANIC THEY ARE AWARE OF AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE TACOMA FRONT SUSPENSIONS AND A POSSIBLE FIX FROM TOYOTA THAT THAT REPLACES THE FRONT COILS AND STRUTS BUR I HAVE NOT HEARD ANYTHING FROM TOYOTA ABOUT IT. ALL PREVIOUS WORK ON MY VEHICLE DONE BY DEALERSHIP.
I WAS ADVISED THAT I HAD A TSB FROM MY TRUCK ,I FELT AS IF I WAS HIT FROM BEHIND AND A THUMP OR CLUNK FELT WHEN COMING TO A STOP OR TAKE OFF FROM STOP.TOLD IT WAS NORMAL BY ALL DEALERS?I DRAINED TO CHECK FLUID FROM AT PAN,ONLY 1 QT. CAME OUT, ADDED REQUIRED 3.2 QTS AS REQUIRED, SOLUTION RESOLVED AND RIDES BETTER THAN NEW, NO HELP FROM TOYOTA AND DEALERS.VERY UPSET AND HAPPY I FIXED AND NO COMPASSION FROM TOYOTA AND DEALERS ! CHECK TRANNY FLUID LEVEL BY DRAINING PAN AND MEASURE! HAD A TOYOTA FLUSH DONE 4 MONTHS PRIOR AND THAT'S WHE IT BEGAN, TOYOTA DEALER DID IT WRONG???NOT ME !
"TAKATA RECALL" POSSIBLE: DRIVING NORTHBOUND IN THE LEFT LANE ON A CLEAR DAY, NO CARS IN FRONT OF ME OR NEXT TO ME. I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET IN HOLLYWOOD CALIFORNIA. VISIBILITY WAS CLEAR AROUND 4:00 P.M IN THE AFTERNOON. I NOTICED A CAR MAKING A LEFT TURN IN FRONT OF ME. I HAD NO TIME TO BREAK, COULD NOT BELIEVE THIS DRIVER HAD INITIATED A LEFT TURN. I IMMEDIATELY VEERED INTO THE RIGHT LANE TO AVOID HITTING THE CAR THAT HAD MADE A LEFT TURN IN FRONT OF ME. THE DRIVER HIT ME INSTEAD ON THE FRONT LEFT CORNER OF MY TOYOTA TACOMA TRUCK, SENDING ME HEAD ON INTO TWO PARKED CARS. I SUFFERED A CONCUSSION AND A BROKEN RIGHT HAND. I NOTICED AFTER THE ACCIDENT THAT NEITHER THE DRIVER SIDE AIR BAG NOR THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. LOS ANGELES POLICE DEPARTMENT CONCLUDED THAT I WAS NOT AT FAULT. DRIVER INITIATED A 21801(A) VC-UNSAFE LEFT TURN IN FRONT OF ME. I STILL SUFFER FROM THE ACCIDENT AND MY HAND IS NOT THE SAME.
TL* THE CONTACT LEASED A 2013 TOYOTA TACOMA EQUIPPED WITH BF GOODRICH RUGGED TRAIL T/A TIRES, SIZE P265/70/R16. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT ALL FOUR TIRES HAD VISIBLE CRACKS AND WERE DRY ROTTED IN BETWEEN THE TWO EXTERIOR TREADS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE VEHICLE AND TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 19,647.
THE HORN CEASED TO WORK IN THE STRAIGHT AHEAD POSITION OF THE STEERING WHEEL. TOYOTA CHARGED ME $530 TO REPLACE THE SPIRAL CABLE. I CONSIDERED IT A SAFETY ISSUE. CONSIDER DRIVING ON A BUSY HIGHWAY AND THE VEHICLE NEXT TO YOU TRIES TO MOVE INTO YOUR LANE. I WROTE A LETTER OF COMPLAINT TO TOYOTA USA. THEY RESPONDED ONLY THAT MY VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY.

DRIVING ON A ROAD, PASSING ANOTHER CAR, TRUCK ROLLS AND JOUNCY , SOFT SHOCKS AND STRUTS, LOOKED UNDER, AT HOME ALL SHOCKS AND STRUTS ARE LEAKING OIL AND BOUNCY VEHICLE AND BAD RIDE IN BUMPY ROADS. I REPLACED REAR SHOCKS AT MY EXPENSE FIRST THEN WEEKS LATER ,I REPLACED THE FRONT STRUTS !ALL LEAKED OIL FROM SHOCKS AND STRUTS WAY TO EARLY, ONGOING FOR PAST FEW MONTHS EARLIER! REPLACED AND PAID LABOR AT MY OWN EXPENSE SINCE DEALERSHIPS AND TOYOTA WOULD CALL THIS OUT OF WARRANTY AND NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR! CHEAP OEM PARTS INSTAD OF QUALITY? I INSTALLED RANCHO RS 5000 SERIES ALL AROUND! RIDES AND HANDLES VERY MUCH BETTER NOW!!!

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 TOYOTA TACOMA. WHILE THE GEAR WAS SHIFTED INTO DRIVE WITH THE BRAKE PEDAL DEPRESSED, THE VEHICLE UNINTENTIONALLY ACCELERATED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO SHIFT THE GEAR INTO PARK; HOWEVER, THE ENGINE CONTINUED TO REVERSE THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE. WHAT HAPPENS: THE FRONT ANTI-LOCK BRAKES INDEPENDENTLY ACTUATE FOR APPROXIMATELY .5-2.5 SECONDS. WHEN: TURNING LEFT 90%, RIGHT 8% AND FORWARD 2% THE MOST FREQUENT IS A LEFT TURN WHERE THE BANK OF THE ROAD IS AT A SIGNIFICANT ANGLE. IT IS TERRIFYING ON A MOUNTAIN ROAD TO HAVE YOUR FRONT END DIVE DOWN AND LOOSE CONTROL. MY NERVES ARE ON EDGE WITH EVERY TURN, WONDERING IF THE TRUCK IS GOING TO DO ITS DIVE. MY GIRLFRIEND REFUSES TO RIDE IN THE VEHICLE BECAUSE OF IT. IT STARTED HAPPENING APPROXIMATELY A YEAR AGO AND I HAD FAITH TOYOTA WOULD COME OUT WITH A FIX. IN STOP AND GO HEAVY TRAFFIC ON INTERSTATE, BRAKE PEDAL WENT ALMOST TO THE FLOOR. ON TAKING TRUCK TO TOYOTA DEALER, A FAILED BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. NO EXPLANATION WAS OFFERED AS TO WHY A VEHICLE WITH ONLY 6000 MILES ON IT WOULD SUFFER A FAILED BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER WHICH COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A CRASH AND INJURY TO OTHER CARS AND PASSENGERS. *TR
ON DATE OF SERVICE I WAS INFORMED BY ADVISOR [XXX] THAT ALL 24 WHEEL FASTENERS (LUGS) HOLDING ON THE WHEEL STUDS DID NOT HAVE AMPLE THREADS. I WAS ESCORTED TO SERVICE AREA OF MY VEHICLE AND SAW WHAT HE WAS DESCRIBING TO ME. IT WAS THE WRONG LUGS NUTS INSTALLED. I WOULD LIKE TO SUBMIT A COMPLAINT TO THE ADMINISTRATOR NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION DUE TO A RECALL ON MY TOYOTA TACOMA TRUCK. I RECENTLY CALLED A TOYOTA DEALERSHIP (SERVCO WAIPAHU) AND EXPLAINED THAT TWO OUT OF THE 3 INDICATOR LIGHTS NOTED ON MY SAFETY RECALL LETTER CAME ON WHILE I WAS DRIVING AND DID NOT TURN OFF. KNOWING THAT THIS WAS NOT A GOOD SIGN, I MOVED TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TRIED TO TURN OFF MY CAR. IN DOING SO, NOTHING HAPPENED. THE INDICATOR LIGHTS CONTINUED TO ILLUMINATE. WHEN I CALLED, THEY WERE WELL AWARE OF MY RECALL ISSUE HOWEVER DID NOT SHOW ANY CONCERN OF THE PROBLEM THAT I JUST STATED. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT TOLD ME THAT THEY WERE BOOKED WITH CARS AND WERE UNABLE TO SERVICE MY CAR UNTIL JUNE 23. THAT IS MORE THAN 50 DAYS AWAY. THE NOTE/RECALL LETTER MENTIONS THAT THE FUNCTIONS BEING INOPERATIVE "CAN INCREASE THE RISK OF A CRASH" AND THAT IF THE LIGHTS DO NOT TURN OFF, I NEEDED TO CALL FOR "IMMEDIATE" DIAGNOSIS AND APPROPRIATE REPAIR. IN ASKING HOW SERIOUS WAS THE ISSUE, THE LADY COULD NOT HELP ME NOR DID SHE TRY TO GET SOMEBODY ON THE PHONE. THEY MENTIONED THAT I COULD BRING IN MY CAR AND LEAVE IT FOR STANDBY. SHE ALSO MENTIONED THAT IT COULD TAKE A WEEK. I WOULD BE WITHOUT A CAR FOR A WEEK. HOW DO THEY EXPECT ME TO GO TO WORK? MY 2013 TOYOTA TACOMA 4X4 TRD'S FRONT WHEELS ATTEMPT TO LOCK UP ONE AT A TIME AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IT'S LIKE I'M TAPPING JUST ONE OF MY FRONT BRAKES. IF I'M NOT HOLDING THE STEERING WHEEL THE TRUCK WILL VEER OFF THE ROAD. BEAVERTON TOYOTA HAS REPLACED THE WHEEL BEARING, HUB AND A WHEEL SENSOR, CALIBRATED THE STEERING SENSOR AND REALIGNED IT. I BELIEVE THE REASON THE ALIGNMENT WAS SO FAR OFF IS DUE TO THE STRESS OF JUST ONE FRONT WHEEL LOCKING UP REPEATEDLY AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON OVER A YEAR NOW AND BEAVERTON TOYOTA HAS NOT BEEN ABLE TO RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM. THIS ONLY HAS HAPPENED ON STRAIGHT STRETCHES OF HIGHWAY ABOVE 65MPH AND OCCURS MORE OFTEN ON HOT DAYS.
I SEEM TO HAVE AN INTERMITTENT CLUTCH ISSUE WITH MY TACOMA. WHEN THE OUTSIDE TEMPERATURES ARE COLD (BELOW FREEZING) AND THE TRUCK HAS BEEN SITTING OVER NIGHT, THE CLUTCH PEDAL IS SLOW TO RETURN. I HAVE BEEN HAVING THIS PROBLEM SINCE WINTER SET IN HERE IN SC. BUT UNTIL 3-14-2014, THIS HAS BECOME A SAFETY CONCERN. I WAS COMING OUT OF MY NEIGHBORHOOD AND CAME UP TO A STOP AT A STOP LIGHT WHICH IS ON A HILL. AS I WAS SITTING THERE A MOPED CAME UP BEHIND ME. WHEN ACCELERATING THROUGH 20 MPH A VIBRATION/SHUDDER IS VERY NOTICEABLE. THE MORE AGGRESSIVE THE ACCELERATION THE MORE NOTICEABLE THE VIBRATION. THE VIBRATION IS ALSO NOTED WHEN DECELERATING FROM FULL SPEED. WHEN IN A COASTING OR BRAKING DECELERATION A VIBRATION IS NOTED AROUND 20 MPH. WHEN ACCELERATING OR DECELERATING THE VIBRATION IS TRANSIENT AT 20 MPH AND ALWAYS DAMPENS OUT OR GOES AWAY. WITHOUT EVEN BOTHERING FOR A TEST DRIVE MY TOYOTA DEALER ATTRIBUTED THE VIBRATION TO "MUD BUILD UP ON THE BRAKE CALIPER". I SHARED A TOYOTA SERVICE BULLETIN QUOTED BY OTHER TACOMA OWNERS BUT THE DEALER SAID THE BULLETIN WAS NO LONGER EFFECTIVE. *TR
