Frame failure at driver's side front wheel due to excessive rust. Dealership inspected frame 8 months prior to failure and said it was safe to drive. Wheel and steering components broke free from frame. Truck was suddenly unable to move or be driven. Luckily it happened in a parking lot and not while driving on road or on highway at high speed. Yes independent service center confirmed frame failure. No inspections have been done. No warnings.
The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle made abnormal sounds. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed that the sub-frame was corroded. The contact was informed that the sub-frame needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not provide any assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Tundra. The contact stated that while the vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic, the mechanic informed him that the subframe was rusted. The dealer and another dealer, Peppers Toyota (2400 E Wood St, Paris, TN 38242) were made aware of the failure, but both dealers informed the contact that there was no recall associated with the VIN. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure by email. However, the contact had not heard back from the manufacturer. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.
Frame has rotted out before rear wheels and cross support for gas tank. Toyota did a recall on it in 2014 but the fix didn't last 7 years and now this vehicle could break in half or loose its gas tank creating a danger to driver and / or others. The vehicle is in great shape and low mileage and is nowhere near end of life otherwise. Toyota is offering no support at this time claiming they fixed the problem in 2014.
Heard some noise coming from the front left side of the truck. I parked it, took a look and noticed that the entire frame is completely rusted out with the front left wheel area with the most rust. The frame itself may break apart at any moment.
The yoke assembly on rear driveshaft broke and the rear part of shaft fell to the ground while making a turn on paved road. I was about to back down an inclined boat ramp to put boat in river. The boat was an aluminum john boat, motor and trailer not weighing over 800 pounds. Vehicle and boat could have gone in river or the truck could have hit someone. The vehicle was towed and is being repaired by local repair shop. There were no warning lights or any unusual noise prior to the incident. The truck has 135,000 miles on the odometer. The shop were the repairs are being done said this was a common problem he has seen on many Toyota Tundras and not any particular year.
The truck had a frame recall and the frame was sprayed in accordance with the recall in 2014. The frame continued to rust badly and the welded bracket for the sway bar broke free of the frame while driving.
I have a 2006 Toyota Tundra. The frame has extensive rust along with holes and metal flaking off of the frame. We bought the truck in July 2020. It has been rendered unsafe to drive.

In 2014 Toyota had a recall on the frame rusting issue. I had Toyota of Hanover Pa review the truck frame and they said it didn't meet the requirement for a frame replacement and they applied under coating. Now in 2021 the frame is starting to show signs of rust along the main frame beside the fuel tank when I had the vehicle in for inspection. I was a little confused sense it was undercoated but then reading more about the undercoating it may have made it worse by holding the moisture in and making it rust. I contacted Toyota to see if they would replace and or help me with the cost in replacing the frame since the truck is in excellent shape with 114k. And there response was NO the recall has expired and we can not do nothing. I priced a frame replacement and its over 11k. Also, reading a lot of other Toyota Tundra complaints about the undercoating and not installing a new frame around the same time period and everyone feeling the coating was going to last as long as the truck. I would appreciate any help on your end with this issue. I have a 2006 Toyota Tundra that is in perfect condition mechanical and body no rust, recently found out about frame that has a hole in it on the right front it has been confirmed by dealership that it cannot be driven. In 2015 I took truck in for the recall for the frame obviously something was not done properly. After doing some research I'm finding out Toyota has been having problems with frames from about 2000-2009. The main issue here is if we did not notice this problem and someone is driving the vehicle and frame breaks and someone gets hurt who is responsible
The frame of truck is rusted very bad. The frame part where the tire spare is being held in place is rusted to the point that when you touch it, it crumbles into pieces of rusted metal. One side of the frame that holds the spare tire is almost completely gone. I feel like if I hit big bump the spare wheel would fall out and hit someone. My Toyota Tundra is a 2006, I know there was a recall for earlier model of my Tundra for the same rusted frame problem. But for some reason the 2006 was never recall even though I seen a lot of people having the same safety issue.
Purchased used 2006 Toyota Tundra in May 2021. Upon bringing vehicle to Toyota dealer for inspection mechanic informed me that the frame had rust perforations and was unsafe to drive. The condition was not fixed due to exorbitant cost and I was not able to pass inspection.
The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Corolla. The contact stated while driving 35 mph, the brake pedal was engaged the brake pedal went to the floorboard. The contact engaged the parking brake and brought the vehicle to a complete stop. The vehicle was towed to the dealer to be diagnosed. The mechanic found that the brake lines were rusted and leaking. Additionally, the subframe and chassis were extremely rusted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 172,000.
Secondary air intake system has failed- upon researching some years of Toyota Tundra’s had previously recalls for this problem - found one forum where 120 people were complaining this happened to their vehicle also
The chassis is rusted and the tires started leaning out because they are no longer supported fully. The vehicle is unsafe to drive now because of tire issues, and control. Insurance and or police will not look at because no accident occurred yet. I just notified Toyota who said the recall on models such as this had ended in 2015. The used car dealer my son just purchased from 5 months ago has denied any knowledge of the problem.

The dealer was made aware of the failure but informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall. The vehicle was not repaired nor diagnosed. Passenger side front Ball joint failed when driving on interstate. Oil change and service was last done 2/24/21 mileage was 192943. I also sent all the information to Toyota.
The truck has bad frame with many holes! The rusted frame! Affecting the suspension and many others parts of the truck the front driver side frame it’s broken! I took the truck to Toyota dealer in Dalton Georgia and. So they refusing to do the job and they sent me back with the same problem problem they took pictures of the frame the guy that That take care of me told me that it truck is not safe for driving!
MY SON DRIVES THIS TRUCK. THE TRUCK WAS PURCHASED NEW IN 2006 BY MY FATHER IN LAW. TODAY, WHILE DRIVING IN A RESIDENTIAL AREA, THE WHEEL SHOOK, MY SON HEARD A POP, AND THE LEFT WHEEL SEPARATED FROM THE BARRING THUS SKIDDING ON THE GROUND. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN TOWED TO A SERVICE CENTER TO BE EVALUATED.
The frame on the truck is starting to show holes and I am wondering about the stability of the frame lasting I am in New York state and this is the issue with the climate
WHILE DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, FELT A AND HEARD A BUMP (NO BUMPS IN ROAD) AND LOST MOST STEERING CAPABILITIES. AFTER PULLING TO SIDE OF ROAD. I NOTICED TIRES WERE POINTED IN DIFFERENT DIRECTIONS. AFTER LOOKING UNDER THE VEHICLE, I COULD SEE LARGE RUST HOLES IN THE FRAME AND THE RACK WAS NO LONGER CONNECTED TO THE FRAME. TOYOTA INSPECTED THE FRAME UNDER RECALL IN 2015 AND SAID THERE WERE NO PROBLEMS AND PAINTED ONLY THE REAR PORTION OF THE FRAME WITH AN ANTI CORROSION PAINT WHICH HAS NOW ALSO RUSTED AWAY. I BELIEVE THE FRAME SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED UNDER THE ORIGINAL RECALL INSTEAD OF COVERING WITH PAINT THAT DID NOT DO THE JOB.
MY 2006 TOYOTA TUNDRA WAS JUST SERVICED AT REPUTABLE MECHANIC AND ALERTED ME TO THE RUST HOLE THROUGH THE PASSENGER SIDE LEAF SPRING BRACKET. ADDITIONALLY, THE FRAME IS SEPARATING FROM THE TRUCK DUE TO THE SEVERITY OF THE RUST. THE FRAME IS DEFOLIATING IN SHEETS OF RUST, VERY SIMILAR TO THE CONSISTENCY OF SHALE. CONTACTED CORPORATE TOYOTA IMMEDIATELY. CASE WAS PUSHED TO A SENIOR MANAGER AND FINALLY RECEIVED A RETURN CALL 13 DAYS LATER. THEY STATED THERE WAS NOTHING THAT COULD WARRANT A FRAME REPLACEMENT BASED ON THE AGE OF MY VEHICLE, THE MILEAGE (248,000) MILES, AND NO CURRENT RECALLS. I FIND THIS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. TOYOTA IS A COMPANY I THOUGHT WAS BASED ON 'PERFORMANCE, RELIABILITY, AND SAFETY', BUT I GUESS IT'S NOT. I RECEIVED THE CAMPAIGN TO BATTLE THE RUSTY FRAMES BACK IN 2014 AND WAS PROACTIVE AND COMPLETED THAT AT THE DEALER. THE DEALER PERFORMED THE UNDERCOATING WHICH DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING BUT COVER THE RUST AND INCREASE THE BREAKDOWN OF THE FRAME. SINCE THEN, I HAD DRIVEN MY TRUCK TO AND FROM WORK AND RELIED ON IT TO SAFELY TRANSPORT MY FAMILY EVERYWHERE, BUT NOT ANY LONGER. I FIND THIS TO BE COMICALLY IRRESPONSIBLE FOR TOYOTA TO TURN A BLIND EYE. THERE ARE SO MANY OTHER 2006 TUNDRAS THAT ARE HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUES, HOWEVER THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT ONLY LISTS 2007-2008 TUNDRAS THAT COULD WARRANT FRAME REPLACEMENT. HOWEVER, A COWORKER JUST TOOK HIS 2005 TUNDRA IN FOR THE AIRBAG RECALL, AND THEY DISCOVERED THE FRAME NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. IT HAS OVER 200,000 MILES SIMILAR TO MINE AND IS GETTING A NEW FRAME??? CORPORATE TOYOTA WOULDN'T COMMENT ON THAT. I'M AT A LOSS AND DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW TOYOTA EXPECTS ANYONE TO JUST WALK AWAY AND DO NOTHING. CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WILL OCCUR AGAIN FOR THE 2006 TUNDRAS. I'VE OWNED THE TRUCK FOR A YEAR BOUGHT ON DEC 2019 3RD OWNER. I SEE THAT MINES NOT LISTED AS RECALLED FOR FRAME RUST BUT I'M NOT SURE WHY WHEN THE GAS TANK LOOKS LIKE IT GOING TO FALL OFF AND SEEMS ONLY CRITICAL SECTIONS ARE SEVERELY RUSTED LIKE THE GAS TANK AND WHERE THE REAR SHOCK ABSORBER SITS. I COULD ONLY SEE THESE SPOTS NOW BECAUSE THEY ARE HARD TO SPOT PLACES WHERE THE FRAME JOINS.
AUTONATION TOYOTA WOULD NOT INSTALL REAR TOW HITCH DUE TO SEVERITY OF FRAME RUST. CAUTIONING THAT ANY SORT OF IMPACT WOULD TOTAL THE VEHICLE. AFTER READING SEVERAL REVIEWS STATING VERY SIMILAR RUST PROBLEMS I HAVE STARTED AN ONLINE PETITION AGAINST TOYOTA. EVEN IF THE FRAME IS REPLACED THE RUST HAS AFFECTED MANY COMPONENTS OF THE VEHICLE. BEING A SAFETY ISSUE. SEVERE BODILY HARM OR DEATH CAN OCCUR.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER LEARNING OF A RECALL INVOLVING RUST ON SIMILAR VEHICLE'S, HE DECIDED TO INSPECT HIS VEHICLE TO SEE IF THE VEHICLE WAS EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE NOTICED THAT THE SUBFRAME NEAR THE REAR SUSPENSION HAD RUSTED THROUGH AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT CONTACTED THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT BE COVERED UNDER THE RECALL BECAUSE NEITHER THE VIN NOR THE MODEL YEAR WERE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 190,000.
THE VEHICLE'S FRAME CORRODADED SO BADLY WITH HOLES EVERYWHERE. THE SUSPENSSIONS AND TIRE MOUNTS CAME OFF DANGLING AWAY FROM THE FRAME. THE CROSSBARS ARE SO BROKEN THAT THE VEHICLE COULD BUCKLE UP IN MOTION. THE ISSUES WERE DISCOVERED WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO SAFETY INSPECTION STATION.
JAN. 2, 2021 DEALER (ADVANTAGE TOYOTA OF VALLEY STREAM) REFUSED TO COMPLETE NHTSA RECALL NO. 19V-741. DEALER STATED THAT THEY DO NOT DO RECALL SERVICE ON WEEKENDS. TOYOTA CORPORATE'S RECALL LETTER STATES THAT A LOANER VEHICLE WOULD BE PROVIDED. ADVANTAGE TOYOTA STATES THAT THEY DO NOT HAVE LOANER VEHICLES, REGARDLESS OF WHAT DAY OR TIME I WOULD BE WILLING TO SCHEDULE THE SERVICE APPOINTMENT. DEALER DID NOT OFFER ANY ALTERNATIVE TRANSPORTATION OPTIONS (RIDE HOME, PAID TAXI, ETC.) CONTACTED CORPORATE, ADVISED THAT THE DEALERS ARE PRIVATELY OWNED AND TOYOTA INC IS NEITHER AFFILIATED NOR LIABLE FOR DEALERSHIP ACTIONS. TOYOTA RECOMMENDED THAT I PAY OUT OF POCKET FOR THE EXPENSES FOR A RENTAL CAR AND REQUEST REIMBURSEMENT AT A LATER DATE. I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE OF INTEREST TO THE NHTSA THIS EXAMPLE OF TOYOTA'S LACK OF INTEREST TO REMEDY A MANDATED SAFETY RECALL. TOYOTA SENDS MULTIPLE LETTERS INDICATED A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WITH A VEHICLE THEY MANUFACTURED. THEN, DEALERSHIPS MAKE IT DIFFICULT (IF NOT IMPOSSIBLE) TO HAVE THE RECALL SERVICE COMPLETED. TOYOTA THEN EXCUSES ITSELF FROM LIABILITY BY STATING DEALERSHIPS ARE PRIVATELY OWNED. CONVENIENT. FEEL FREE TO CONTACT ME SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS PERTAINING TO THIS MATTER.
WAS TAKEN TO REPAIR SHOP FOR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I WAS TOLD THAT THE RUST WAS SO BAD ON THE FRAME THAT I COULD NOT SAFELY DRIVE IT. WAS INFORMED BY REPAIR SHOP THAT THEY HAVE HAD OVER 20 VEHICLES YEARS 05-06 WITHIN THE LAST YEAR WITH FRAMES FALLING APART LIKE MINE?? WHY HASN'T ANYONE NOTICED THIS OR DONE SOMETHING? THE VEHICLE HAS BEEN GARAGED KEPT, ALL RECALLS PERFORMED, ALL MAINTENANCE REMAINED UP TO DATE, ONLY 109,000 MILES AND FRAME FALLING APART!! WAS TAKEN TO TOYOTA DEALER IN AUGUST AND WAS MADE TO BELIEVE IT WAS ONLY SMALL HOLE.PASSED INSPECTION IN JANUARY 20020. THERE IS NO WAY THIS WAS NOT PRESENT FOR YEARS!!! BUT TOYOTA NEVER MENTIONED UNTIL AUGUST 2020, WHEN THEY SAW SMALL HOLE IN FRAME, BUT SHOULD HAVE BEEN REMOVED FROM ROAD!!! . SO, WHY IS TOYOTA ALLOWING THESE VEHICLES TO CONTINUE TO BE DRIVEN ? WHY ARE THEY NOT MENTIONING FRAME ISSUES? WHAT ARE THEY HIDING?? I SEE THAT TOYOTA HAS HAD RECALLS FOR OTHER VEHICLES EXCEPT, BY MY UNDERSTANDING, 05-06 TOYOTA TUNDRAS, FOR FRAME REPLACEMENT! THE VEHICLE HAD A RECALL ON THE FRAME A FEW YEARS AGO, I BROUGHT IT INTO THE DEALER AT THE TIME , THEY INSPECTED IT AND SAID THE FRAME WAS FINE, THEY CLEANED IT AND PERFORMED AN UNDERCOATING. I RECENTLY WENT TO THE TOYOTA DEALERSHIP FOR AN ALIGNMENT, THE ALIGNMENT WOULD NOT HOLD AND THEY BROKE A BRAKE LINE. WHEN THE DEALER WENT TO PRICE OUT THE BRAKE LINE THEY DISCOVERED THE FRAME WAS ALL ROTTED OUT AND WOULD NOT REPAIR THE LINE. I WAS TOLD IT WAS TOO DANGEROUS TO PUT ON A LIFT DO TO THE FRAME ROT. THEY ALSO TOLD ME THE RECALL ON THE FRAME HAD EXPIRED AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT. THE DEALER PROVIDED THE 800 NUMBER FOR TOYOTA, I CALLED THEM AND RECEIVED THE SAME INFO, THE TIME PERIOD FOR THE FRAME RECALL EXPIRED. I DID WHAT I WAS SUPPOSED TO DO IN THE TIME FRAME, I BROUGHT THE TRUCK IN AND TOLD THE FRAME WAS FINE. ALL THE UNDERCOATING THEY DID ONLY MASKED THE ISSUE . THE FRAME IS NOW ALL ROTTED ONLY A FEW YEARS LATER AND TOYOTA WILL NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT AND FIX IT. HOW DOES A FRAME GO FROM BEING INSPECTED BY A DEALER AND TOLD IT IS FINE TO A POINT WHERE THE DEALER WILL NOT PUT IT ON A LIFT BECAUSE OF THE ROT IN JUST A FEW YEARS? THE DEALER PROVIDED THE PICTURES OF THE ROT.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER HUSBAND RAN A STOP SIGN AND ANOTHER VEHICLE CRASHED INTO HIS VEHICLE FROM THE FRONT RIGHT SIDE FENDER AND THE VEHICLE OVERTURNED, KNOCKING HIM OUT. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HER HUSBAND SUSTAINED FRACTURES ON C2 VERTEBRAE, STERNAL, LOWER LUMBER AREA, THORACIC VERTEBRAE. AND WAS TAKEN TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ABOUT THREE YEARS AGO, THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DANVILLE TOYOTA DEALER, LOCATED AT: 125 PIEDMONT PL, DANVILLE, VA 24541, WHERE AN UNKNOWN AIR BAG WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECENTLY RECEIVED A NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V741000 (AIR BAGS). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT SHE EMAILED A LETTER TO THE MANUFACTURER OF THE ACCIDENT AND WAS MAKE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 170,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY VEHICLE RECENTLY FAILED INSPECTION DUE TO FRAME RUST IN THE REAR AND POSSIBLY IN THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. I PREVIOUSLY HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL TOYOTA DEALER TO INSPECT THE FRAME DURING A RECALL NOTICE. THE DEALERSHIP DID NOT DO ANYTHING TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAS ALMOST 196,000 MILES AND SHOULD LAST A LOT LONGER. BUT IT IS USELESS NOW AND THE FRAME RUST PROBLEMS OF THESE MODELS IS UNACCEPTABLE. THE FRAME SHOULD BE ABLE TO LAST THE DURATION OF THE VEHICLE AND TOYOTA HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS PROBLEM FOR A VERY LONG TIME.
I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE FROM ANOTHER MAN. THE TRUCK WOULD STEER OFF WHEN IT WOULD HIT A SMALL BUMP OR HOLE IN THE ROAD. I TOOK IT TO GOODYEAR TO SEE IF IT WAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE ALIGNMENT AND FOUND OUT THE WHOLE FRONT END SUSPENSION AND EVERYTHING ATTACHED TO IT NEEDED TO BE CHANGED. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE TRUCK IS MOTION AND HAVE HAD TO CHANGE AND ROTATE THE TIRES MORE THAN ONCE WITHIN THIS YEAR. THERE IS WEAR ON THE FRONT TIRES ON THE OUTSIDE. I WILL HAVE TO CHANGE THEM AGAIN WHEN WE FIX THE ALIGNMENT. THIS ALSO HAPPENS ON ANY STREET AND IS PRETTY SCARY WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. THE TIRES SOUND LIKE I'M PEELING OUT OR THE TIRE IS FLAT AS I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD. I CAN'T MAKE SHARP TURNS BECAUSE THE TIRES START SKIPPING. I HAVE NOT MADE ANY REPAIRS TO IT BECAUSE I CAN'T AFFORD TO PAY THE BILL AT THIS TIME. ONLY THING I'VE FIXED IS THE TIRES. THE LIGHTS ON THE DASH SHOW THAT THE TIRES ARE LOW ON AIR. THE COST QUOTED TO ME WOULD BE CLOSE TO $2000. I ALSO HEARD FROM MANY PEOPLE THAT THE YEAR I HAVE WITH THE TUNDRA HAVE HAD THE SAME COMPLAINTS AS I HAVE. IT'S A 2006 TOYOTA TUNDRA AND IS MY FIRST TRUCK PURCHASE FOR MYSELF.. MY FIRST VEHICLE WAS A 1983 TOYOTA CAMRY AND I LOVED IT!! I'VE NEVER HAD ANY KIND OF ISSUE WITH A TOYOTA IN THE PAST AND WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO THINK ANYTHING BUT POSITIVE THINGS! TOYOTA'S ARE DEFINITELY BUILT TO LAST AND WOULD LOVE TO PASS IT DOWN TO MY SON BUT UNFORTUNATELY WE HAVE TO POSTPONE CONSIDERING IT'S NOT SAFE FOR HIM TO BE DRIVING. THIS IS HIS LAST YEAR IN HIGH SCHOOL SO HOPEFULLY WE CAN GET IT BACK TO HIM BEFORE THE YEAR IS UP.
REPLACEMENT OF SECONDARY AIR INJECTOR PUMP AND ASSOCIATED VALVES. EXTREMELY HIGH FAILURE RATE WHICH PUTS ENGINE IN LIMP MODE. THIS COULD CAUSE A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION AT TIME OF FAILURE.

THE VEHICLE WAS INSPECTED BY AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT DISCOVERED THAT THE FRONT LOWER BALL JOINTS HAD STARTED TO WEAR. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SEVERAL WEEKS LATER, AFTER COMPLETING A SLIGHT RIGHT TURN, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE TIRE DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE INSPECTED NOR DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY INCLUDED IN, AND REPAIRED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 07V013000 (SUSPENSION). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 200,000.

HOSELTON TOYOTA LOCATED AT 50 MARSH RD, EAST ROCHESTER, NY 14445, WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 139,000.

FRAME IS RUSTING AWAY IN DIFFERENT AREAS. CANNOT ATTACH A TOW HITCH SINCE THE RUST IS MAKING THE WHOLE TAIL END BRITTLE. DON'T KNOW WHEN THE ENTIRE FRAME WILL BE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. I BOUGHT THIS CAR RECENTLY BUT IT WAS USED UP UNTIL 2016 IN NORTH STATES WHERE THERE IS A LOT OF SNOW AND ICE. *TR
THE SECONDARY AIR INJECTION PUMP HAS FAILED, RESULTING IN THE LIMP MODE CONDITION OF THE TRUCK. THE TRUCK HAS LOST CLIMBING POWER AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO DRIVE MORE THAN 45 MPH. I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE SAME PROBLEM IN THE SECOND GENERATION TUNDRA'S. THE TOYOTA DEALER HAS GIVEN A $2200. ESTIMATE TO FIX THE PROBLEM. IS THERE, OR WAS THERE EVER A RECALL FOR THE FIRST GENERATION TUNDRA'S WITH THIS PROBLEM? AND IF SO, IS MY TUDRA INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL? THANKS.
HANDED DOWN 2006 TUNDRA TO MY SON, HE TOOK IT IN FOR SMALL LEAK AND THE MECHANIC SAID FRAME WAS RUSTED SO BAD THERE WERE HOLES IN IT!! WE HAD THE "RECALL" WORK DONE IN 2015. WE WERE NEVER OFFERED A NEW FRAME, THEY SAID WE ONLY NEEDED THE SPRAY. NOW 5 YRS LATER WE CAN'T EVEN LET OUR SON DRIVE HIS OWN TRUCK!! IT HAS 230,000 MILES. STILL ALOT OF MILES LEFT AND THE BODY HAS SOME MINOR BLEMISHES BUT IN GOOD CONDITION. DON'T HAVE ANY PICTURES RIGHT NOW, JUST FOUND OUT ABOUT IT. CALLED TOYOTA RESOLUTION LINE AND THEY SAID THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO!! I REFUSE TO ACCEPT THIS BC WE DID WHAT WE WERE SUPPOSED TO DO AND THEY AREN'T EVEN LIVING UP TO THEIR OWN "FIX"!! 3 INCH HOLE IN FRAME NEAR REAR WHEEL, AND CRACKED CROSS MEMBER. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 105000 MILES ON IT AND HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. JUST PURCHASED USED FROM DEALERSHIP 6 MONTHS AGO. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN TOYOTA. FRAME HAS BEEN UNDER COATED AND THIS STILL HAS HAPPENED.
ANTI RUST COATING WAS APPLIED IN 2016 AS PART OF A RECALL- COATING WAS NOT PROPERLY APPLIED AND MOISTURE GOT UNDERNEATH. NOW, 2020, MOST OF THE COATING HAS PEELED OFF, REVEALING A 3 INCH HOLE IN MY FRAME AND A COMEPLETLEY BROKEN CROSS MEMBER NEAR THE GAS TANK. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE TO ME THAT ROYOTA WOULD COVER UP THIS PROBLEM LIKE THIS AND NOT REPLACE ALL FRAMES. THIS IS NOT SAFE. MY TRUCK RUNS AMAZING, AND ONLY HAS 105000 MILES ON IT. I EXPECT SOMETHING TO BE DONE!
STRUCTURAL FRAME RUSTED THROUGH. TOYOTA DEALER SPRAYED FRAME IN 2014 AND SAID THE FRAME WOULD BE FINE AS OF FOUR YEARS AGO THE FRAME HAS ROTTED THROUGH UNDER THE DRIVERS SIDE. SOME STRUCTURAL SUPPORTS ALSO ROTTED ON THE FRAME. CONTACT WITH TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WITH THE DEALER IT'S FRUSTRATING AND NON-PRODUCTIVE .WHEN THE DEALER SPRAYED THE FRAME THEY FAILED TO PLUG ALL THE HOLES IN THE FRAME. AT THIS POINT THERE IS NO ADDITIVE OR SEALER THAT THE DEALER SPRAYED ON THE FRAME IT HAS ALL WASHED AWAY. I CAN ACTUALLY PLACE FOUR FINGERS THRU THE BOTTOM OF THE FRAME. THIS HAS BEEN ONGOING SINCE 2017 WHEN I FIRST NOTICE THE ROT.*DT*JB*DT CONSUMER STATED FRAME AND TRAILER HITCH WAS RUSTED.*JB
TIRE SIDE WALL BLOWOUT FAILURE . I HAVE HAD 2 OF 4 NEW COOPER TIRES FAIL WITHIN THE LAST 4 WEEKS . ONE ON THE HWY. AT LOW SPEED AND ONE SITING IN MY SHOP BOTH WERE PROPERLY INFLATED .SIZE AND TYPE COOPER DISCOVERY SRX 265/65R17 A 50% FAILURE RATE IS NOT THAT GOOD TIRES HAVE LESS THAN 2000. MILES ON THEM
FRAME RUSTED, TOYOTA WILL NOT REPLACE. NEVER SENT ME INSPECTION NOTICE, THEY SAY I MISSED MY OPPORTUNITY. NOT HAPPY, DISABLED AND ONLY TRANSPORTATION. COVERED FOR A CERTAIN AMOUNT OF TIME, BUT WAS NEVER NOTIFIED.
SEVERE RUST CORROSION IN ONE SPOT OF FRAME ON DRIVERS SIDE OF VEHICLE. IT WAS BROUGHT TO MY ATTENTION BY MAINTENANCE MECHANIC AND HE BROUGHT ME IN TO SEE IT MYSELF WHILE THE TRUCK WAS UP ON THE LIFT.
