DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER, THE STEEL WHEELS RETAIN WATER BECAUSE OF THEIR DESIGN. AS A RESULT, THERE IS CORROSION/RUST WITHIN THE WHEESL AND AT THE BASE OF THE VALVE STEMS. THIS DEFECT IS NOW ALLOWING AIR TO LEAK FROM THE BASES OF THE VALVE STEMS. ACCORDING TO BOCH TOYOTA AS WELL AS TOYOTA CUSTOMER SERVICE, THIS IS A RARE PROBLEM. TOWN FAIR TIRE AND THE INTERNET INDICATE THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM.
