Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)On 29 Nov 2025 while braking at low speed (<10 mph) to park, my 2022 Toyota Venza Hybrid suddenly lunged forward despite firm brake pedal application and no accelerator input. The vehicle accelerated on its own and struck a stationary pole causing front-end damage.
I was almost involved in a reared collision. The vehicles pre-collision warning system did not activate. I later tested the system by approaching a stationary object and stopping suddenly. The system did not activate. The dashboard lights do not indicate that the system is deactivated. I discovered the defect this evening. Have not yet reported it to the Dealer. Filing this report because there are likely more of these vehicles out there.
