Open the full vehicle complaint log (all categories)I WAS SENT A RECALL NOTICE FROM VOLKSWAGEN OF AMERICA STATING THAT A MICRO SWITCH MAY BE FAULTY AND THAT I SHOULD SCHEDULE AN INSPECTION IMMEDIATELY. I SCHEDULED SERVICE AND WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THERE WAS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE. MORE RECENTLY, I RECEIVED ANOTHER NOTICE DETAILING THE RECALL AND REMEDY AND WAS TOLD AGAIN BY THE DEALERSHIP THERE WAS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE.THIS SECOND RECALL NOTICE VERY CLEARLY STATES THAT THE REMEDY IS FOR THE DEALER TO INSTALL AN ADDITIONAL SWITCH AND CIRCUIT BOARD AND THAT IT WILL TAKE ABOUT AN HOUR. IT MAKES NO SENSE TO ME THAT I WOULD RECEIVE A NOTICE TELLING ME TO GET MY CAR FIXED ASAP, BUT THERE IS NO REMEDY AVAILABLE.
THE CLOCKSPRING BROKE, I HAVE AN AIRBAG ERROR LIGHT ON AND NONE OF THE STEERING WHEEL FUNCTIONS WORK INCLUDING THE HORN. MANY OF THE 2015 VW VEHICLES HAVE BEEN RECALLED BUT THE GTI IS NOT APART OF THE RECALL.. THE DEALERSHIP CONFIRMED IT'S THE CLOCKSPRING
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
