THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO COASTAL VOLKSWAGEN (1 SATURN DR, HANOVER, MA 02339), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DEMONTROND VOLKSWAGEN (14101 NORTH FREEWAY, HOUSTON TX, 77090, (281) 872-3855) TO BE DIAGNOSED, BUT A FAILURE COULD NOT BE FOUND. THE DEALER RESET THE COMPUTER, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. THE VEHICLE CONTINUED TO STALL WHEN THE ENGINE WAS WARMED UP. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND A LOANER VEHICLE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS COVERED BY A NEW WARRANTY WITH IT BEING PURCHASED ON JULY 21, 2019. THE MANUFACTURER GAVE THE CONTACT A CASE NUMBER AND ASSIGNED A CASE MANAGER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 500.

THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY AT THE DEALER AND A LOANER VEHICLE WAS PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, PROVIDED CASE NUMBER: 190628328, AND STARTED AN INVESTIGATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 91,000.

WHEN AT IDLE OR COMING TO A STOP, WITH THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND THE CLUTCH PEDAL NOT ENGAGED THE VEHICLE WILL SOFT STALL AND REQUIRE A KEY TURN TO START THE MOTOR AGAIN. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES ON A BRAND NEW VEHICLE. 6SPD MANUAL
I PURCHASED A 2019 GTI RABBIT EDITION 6MT. CAR STALLS WHILE COMING TO A STOP IN NEUTRAL. ALSO STALLS STARTING FROM A STOP WHILE IN 1ST GEAR WITH CLUTCH FULLY DEPRESSED. CAR SHUTS OFF QUIETLY, DOESN'T SOUND/FEEL LIKE NORMAL STALLING. HAD THIS PROBLEM SINCE THE FIRST DAY I BROUGHT THE CAR HOME FROM THE DEALERSHIP AND KNOW OF MANY OTHERS EXPERIENCING THE SAME THING.
I HAVE ENCOUNTERED A SERIOUS ISSUE WITH MY 2019 VOLKSWAGEN GTI THAT I PURCHASED IN JUNE OF THIS YEAR. THE CAR STALLS UNEXPECTEDLY WHEN THE CLUTCH IS DEPRESSED WHILE COASTING LOW SPEEDS, GENERALLY WHEN APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT/SIGN OR SOMETIMES EVEN WHILE IN NEUTRAL. THIS IS A RECURRING ISSUE THAT STARTED LAST WEEK WHEN THE CAR HAD ~980 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN THAT I AM NOT IN THE LEAST COMFORTABLE WITH AS THIS HAS HAPPENED IN AN INTERSECTION.

BRAND NEW 2019 GTI RABBIT SOMETIMES STALLS WHILE COMING TO A STOP OR, IN SOME CASES, HAS FULLY STOPPED, WHEN THE CLUTCH IS FULLY ENGAGED. CAR RESTARTS WHEN 'START' BUTTON IS PUSHED. THE FIRST INCIDENT OCCURRED ON THE DRIVE HOME FROM THE DEALER AND HAS OCCURRED AT LEAST 10X IN THE THREE WEEKS SINCE PURCHASED, ACROSS MULTIPLE DRIVERS. HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO RELIABLY REPRODUCE.

CAR STALLS UNEXPECTEDLY WHEN CLUTCH DEPRESSED WHILE COASTING AT LOW SPEEDS, GENERALLY APPROACHING A STOP (E.G. TRAFFIC LIGHT). RECURRING ISSUE. CAR ALSO STALLS UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE IN NEUTRAL WITH CLUTCH RELEASED WHEN COASTING AT LOW SPEEDS. SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE FOR ENGINE TO TURN OFF UNEXPECTEDLY WHILE DRIVING ON CITY STREETS.
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
THE CAR STALLS WHEN COMING TO A STOP- 0 MPH AND AT IDLE WITH CLUTCH IN OR IN NEUTRAL. THIS IS HAPPENING MORE OFTEN AND SEEMS TO HAPPEN MORE WHEN THE CAR IS WARMED UP.
ENGINE STALLS WHEN COMING TO A STOP SPECIFICALLY IN WARMER WEATHER, THE CAR CAN BE IN FIRST OR NEUTRAL WHEN IT STALLS. IT FEELS LIKE THE 'AUTO STOP' FEATURE IN SOME AUTOMATIC CARS. MY MODEL IS A MANUAL. THE SPEEDOMETER SAYS ANYWHERE FROM 0-8 MPH WHEN IT LOOSES POWER. IT IS VERY SUBTLE AND AT FIRST, I DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE UNTIL I STARTED TO ACCELERATE AT A GREEN LIGHT. I HAVE A 15 MILE COMMUTE. THE FIRST 10 MILES CONSIST OF SOME CITY DRIVING TO GET TO THE HIGHWAY--NO PROBLEMS THERE. AFTER GETTING OFF THE HIGHWAY, EVERY STOP I MADE (APPROXIMATELY 10), THE CAR STALLED. IT DOES IMMEDIATELY RESTART WITH THE START BUTTON.
THE CAR STALLS WHEN EITHER DRIVING VERY SLOWLY OR STOPPED. I BOUGHT IT WEDNESDAY, JULY 10TH. IT FIRST STALLED YESTERDAY, WHILE I WAS IN NEUTRAL AT A STOP LIGHT. TODAY IT STALLED FOUR MORE TIMES. THREE TIMES IN A PARKING LOT AND ONCE AT A STOP LIGHT. THE CAR HAD NORMAL ENGINE TEMPERATURE. WHEN IT STALLS IT'S SO QUIET AND SUBTLE THAT IT'S DIFFICULT TO NOTICE. EACH TIME THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND IN NEUTRAL. I ENTERED SEVERAL ISSUES, AS I'M UNSURE WHAT IS ACTUALLY AFFECTED.
ENGINE STALLED AND STOPPED RUNNING WHILE VEHICLE WAS IN 2ND GEAR WITH CLUTCH PEDAL FULLY DEPRESSED WHILE SLOWING TO A STOP AT A RED LIGHT. DASH REMAINED ILLUMINATED AND ENGINE WAS RESTARTED WITH START/STOP BUTTON.
THE CAR WILL SHUT OFF WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND WHEN MOVING AT LOW SPEEDS. THIS HAPPENS WHEN CAR IS IN NUTREAL AND CLUTCH IS DEPRESSED 100%. THIS IS A SOFT SHUT OFF AND NOT THE SAME AS STALLING THE VEHICLE. MY CAR IS A 6 SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION.
VEHICLE FREQUENTLY STALLS WHILE COMING TO A STOP, WITH CLUTCH DEPRESSED, OR IN NEUTRAL GEAR. ENGINE SPUTTERS AND RPMS DROP TO 0. CAR HAS TO BE MANUALLY RESTARTED. NO WARNING LIGHTS APPEAR ON SCREEN. SEEMS TO HAPPEN IN GROUPS. AFTER THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENS IT REPEATS THROUGHOUT THE DURATION OF THE DRIVE.
THE GEAR INDICATOR OFTEN SHOWS THE WRONG GEAR THAN THE CAR IS PHYSICALLY IN, ON A 6 SPEED MANUEL TRANSMISSION. THIS COULD BE RELATED TO THE OTHER ISSUE OF THE VEHICLE STALLING WITH THE CLUTCH PUSHED ALL THE WAY IN. MOSTLY HAPPENS WHEN SLOWING DOWN, OR COMING UP TO A STOPLIGHT.
THE ENGINE STALLS WHEN APPROACHING A STOP DESPITE BEING IN NEUTRAL. THE STALL IS GENTLE (NOT SUDDEN). EACH TIME, THE COOLANT AND OIL TEMPERATURE WERE AT REGULAR OPERATING TEMPERATURES (WARMED UP, NOT COLD). THIS HAS HAPPENED 3 TIMES THUS FAR, AT APPROXIMATELY 30 MILES, 120 MILES, AND 500 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THIS CAR IS WITH THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION.
BOUGHT A NEW 2019 VW GTI 'S' IN 6 SPEED MANUAL. THE VEHICLE STALLS AND HAS STALLED AT LEAST 10 TIMES AND I'VE HAD IT FOR ABOUT A WEEK. ITS VERY CONCERNING. I'VE MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO TAKE IT IN TOMORROW, AND I'VE CALLED VW CUSTOMER CARE TO LET THEM KNOW. IT HAPPENS WHILE COMING TO A STOP, HAS HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERSECTION. I SEE MANY OTHERS ARE HAVING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE BUT VW IS CURRENTLY UNWILLING TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE PROBLEM. SOUNDS LIKE MANY DIFFERENT PARTS HAVE BEEN REPLACED FOR VARIOUS CONSUMERS TO NO AVAIL. CAR WILL STALL EVERY OTHER DAY OR SO. MAY ALSO STALL TWICE IN ONE DAY. SEEMS TO BE MORE COMMON WHEN ITS WARMER OUT. IT STALLS IN NEUTRAL OR IN GEAR WITH CLUTCH DEPRESSED WHEN SLOWING DOWN TO A STOP. ALREADY HAD IT TO THE DEALER TWICE. STILL STALLS.
WHEN COMING TO A STOP IN 1ST OR WHILE STOPPED AT A LIGHT IN NEUTRAL, THE CAR WILL STALL OUT.
THE PROBLEM STARTED LESS THAN 24 HOURS FROM TAKING DELIVERY OF THE VEHICLE WITH 16 MILES ON THE ODOMETER. THE FIRST INCIDENT HAPPENED AT 111 MILES ON THE ODOMETER, 90 DEGREES AMBIENT TEMP, OIL TEMP 210. THE ENGINE DIES WHEN APPROACHING A STOP WITH THE CLUTCH DEPRESSED. DOES IT IN NEUTRAL AND WHEN IN FIRST OR SECOND GEAR. GAUGES REMAIN ON WITH LIGHTING, TACH AT ZERO. AFTER STALLING THE CAR STARTS WITH A PUSH OF THE STARTER BUTTON, FOOT ON BRAKE AND CLUTCH DEPRESSED. IF THE CAR STALLS WHEN PARKING THE GAUGES REMAIN ON WITH LIGHTING, TACH AT ZERO. THE CAR MUST BE RESTARTED AND THEN SHUT OFF WITH THE STARTED BUTTON FOR THE GAUGES AND THE REST OF THE CARS ELECTRICS TO POWER DOWN. NOT SAFE TO DRIVE.
CAR HAS UNDER 200 MILES. ENGINE REPEATEDLY TURNS OFF ONCE STATIONARY, AT STOPS, SUCH AS INTERSECTIONS, YIELD ZONES, AND FREEWAY ON AND OFF RAMPS WITH TRAFFIC LIGHTS OR STOP SIGNS. THE ENGINE TURNS OFF WITHOUT WARNING OR NOTIFICATIONS, AND HAS TO BE RESTARTED BY DRIVER. UNKNOWN COMPONENTS/SYSTEMS. TAKEN TO VW SERVICE CENTER, WAS ROAD TESTED, AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE COMPLAINT AND NOTED VW CORP HAD ADVISED RESETS.
6MT RABBIT EDITION. CAR HAS OCCASIONALLY SOFTLY STALLED/ENGINE SHUTS OFF WHILE IN NEUTRAL WHEN COMING TO A STOP OR SLOW. HAPPENS WITHOUT ANY WARNING OR CONSISTENCY. CAR WILL RESTART AGAIN WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM.
THIS CAR WAS PURCHASED NEW FROM CRESTMONT VW IN NJ ONE MONTH AGO. IT HAS A MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND WHEN THE CLUTCH IS ENGAGED AND I'M COMING TO A HALT, THE CAR HAS STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES. THIS FIRST HAPPENED WITHIN THE FIRST WEEK OF OWNING THE CAR, AND NOW OCCURS AT LEAST ONCE EVERY OTHER DAY OR SO (SOMETIMES MORE FREQUENTLY). IT HAS HAPPENED WHEN IN NEUTRAL AND WHEN IN SECOND GEAR, THOUGH THE CLUTCH IS ALWAYS IN. THE CAR IS AT THE DEALER RIGHT NOW. I EXPLAINED THE SITUATION AND THEY COULD NOT REPRODUCE THE PROBLEM AND THE CAR'S COMPUTER WASN'T PRODUCING ANY DIAGNOSTIC CODES. INITIALLY THEY TOLD ME THAT THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO. I THEN SPOKE TO A MANAGER, SHOWED HIM ONLINE FORUMS WHERE CUSTOMERS WERE REPORTING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM, AND TO HIS CREDIT HE AGREED TO KEEP THE CAR TO INVESTIGATE FURTHER.
VEHICLE WITH AN INTERMITTENT STALL IN THE SIX SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION. STALLS OCCURS WHEN DECELERATING WITH THE CLUTCH PEDAL DEPRESSED. SO FAR, THIS HAS OCCURRED ON CITY STREETS AT LOW ROLLING SPEEDS IN THE MIDST OF A LEFT HAND TURN. A FULL STOP (AS WHEN WAITING FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC TO PASS) DOES NOT OCCUR BEFORE ONSET OF THE STALL, RATHER THE STALL HAS OCCURRED MIDWAY THROUGH THE ROLLING TURN AS THE BRAKE PEDAL IS RELEASED, THE GEAR SELECTED, AND CLUTCH PEDAL RELEASED. IN EVERY INSTANCE IN WHICH THE STALL HAS INITIALLY OCCURRED, THE POWER LOSS OCCURS WHILE MY VEHICLE IS IN THE LANE OF ONCOMING TRAFFIC, WITH ONLY THE MOMENTUM OF THE CAR PROPELLING ME OUT OF THE LANE. IN THE MOST RECENT INCIDENT, THE STALL REPEATED AFTER TWO ATTEMPTS TO RESTART THE VEHICLE WITH THE CLUTCH PEDAL DEPRESSED. AFTER TURNING THE IGNITION FULLY OFF, THEN RESTARTING THE VEHICLE, THE STALL OCCURRED A THIRD TIME. AFTER LETTING THE VEHICLE SIT FOR A PERIOD OF ABOUT 20 MINUTES, THE CAR STARTED AND FUNCTIONED WITHOUT INCIDENT.

2019 MANUAL TRANSMISSION GTI STALLING WHEN COMING TO A STOP WITH FOOT ON CLUTCH. STARTED HAPPENING TWO DAYS AFTER PURCHASE ON 6/02/2019, AFTER APPROXIMATELY 600 MILES ON VEHICLE I DID NOT EXPERIENCE STALLING. VEHICLE NOW HAS APPROXIMATELY 2100 MILES, AND I HAVE EXPERIENCED THE STALLING MULTIPLE TIMES OVER THE PAST TWO DAYS. IT HAPPENS MORE OFTEN AFTER DRIVING THE CAR SPIRITEDLY, AND I CAN CONSISTENTLY GET THE CAR TO HAVE THE ISSUE WHEN DRIVING SPIRITEDLY. HAPPENS AT RANDOM DURING NORMAL DRIVING. VEHICLE ALSO LOSES ELECTRONICALLY ASSISTED POWER STEERING DURING FAULT.
THE ENGINE WOULD STALL WHEN APPROACHING A STOP. SOMETIMES ENGINE WOULD ALSO STALL AT LOW SPEEDS
VEHICLE STALLED OUT WHILE COASTING IN NEUTRAL TO A STOP <5MPH AND STALLED OUT ALMOST IMMEDIATELY AFTER RESTARTING IGNITION 4 TIMES UNTIL I GAVE IT GAS AND HELD IT ABOVE 1500 RPM. VEHICLE IS A RABBIT EDITION 6 SPEED TRANSMISSION -- STALL WAS 100% NOT DRIVER ERROR AND WAS IN NEUTRAL. 891 MILES ON THE VEHICLE.
MY 2019 S MODEL PRODUCED IN 9/2018 WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION IS STALLING AT LOW SPEEDS WITH CLUTCH FULLY ENGAGED. IT HAPPENS IN FIRST OR SECOND GEAR USUALLY WHEN EITHER TRYING TO COME TO A STOP OR IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC COASTING AT VERY LOW SPEEDS WITH CLUTCH IN. THE CAR DOES NOT LURCH. IT SIMPLY JUST SHUTS OFF QUIETLY. IT HAS HAPPENED SO FAR ON AN OFF RAMP, IN TRAFFIC, AND PULLING INTO MY DRIVEWAY. I JUST BOUGHT THE CAR 3 DAYS AGO ON TUESDAY, JUNE 11TH WITH ONLY A FEW HUNDRED MILES ON IT. IT STARTED HAPPENING THE DAY AFTER I BOUGHT IT. IT ONLY HAPPENED ONCE ON THAT DAY, BUT HAPPENED SEVERAL MORE TIMES YESTERDAY. AT FIRST I THOUGHT IT WAS USER ERROR UNTIL I GOOGLED IT AND SAW AT LEAST 80 PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I HAVE NEVER HAD A MANUAL CAR STALL IN LOWER GEARS WITH THE CLUTCH FULLY ENGAGED. IT IS NOT NORMAL OR SAFE IN MY OPINION. I PLAN ON TAKING IT BACK TO THE DEALER AS SOON AS I CAN SO THEY CAN INVESTIGATE FURTHER.
THIS IS A 2019 GTI RABBIT IN CORNFLOWER BLUE. THE CAR STALLS OUT WHEN IN FIRST GEAR WHEN EITHER SITTING IN TRAFFIC OR COMING TO A STOP AT A LIGHT OR SIGN. IT DOESN'T HAPPEN EVERY TIME, BUT HAPPENED 5 TIMES OVER THE PERIOD OF A COUPLE HOURS YESTERDAY, 6/11. IT HAS ALSO HAPPENED ON MANY OTHER DAYS, RANGING FROM WHEN I FIRST BOUGHT THE VEHICLE A MONTH AGO WITH 329 MILES ON IT, UNTIL NOW WHEN IT HAS ABOUT 1,300.
THE CAR STALLS RANDOMLY WHEN COMING TO A STOP IN 2ND GEAR WITH THE CLUTCH FULLY DEPRESSED. THE ENGINE IDLES CORRECTLY AS I'M COMING TO A STOP, I DEPRESS THE CLUTCH FULLY, IDLE REMAINS STABLE, WHEN THE CAR COMES TO A FULL STOP, THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF. THE CAR IS 4 DAYS OLD AND HAS 360 MILES ON THE ODOMETER.
HAS BEEN STALLING OUT AT LOW SPEED TO LOW RPMS. WHEN COMING TO A STOP HOLD THE CLUTCH IN WHILE IN GEAR WILL SOFTLY STALL OR WHILE OUT OF GEAR AND CLUTCH IS NOT PRESSED IN IT WILL STALL OUT AS WELL. HAPPENED 6 TIMES IN A 10 MILE TRIP.
THE CAR SHUTS OFF THE ENGINE AT VERY LOW SPEED. THERE WAS NO JERKINESS. THE ENGINE SIMPLE STOPPED. ONE TIME IT WAS AT A PARKING LOT WHEN PULLING TO THE PARKING SPOT. THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF. ANOTHER TIME THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF WITHOUT WARNING AFTER COMING TO A FULL STOP AT A STOP SIGN.
THE ENGINE WILL FREQUENTLY STALL WHEN I COME TO A COMPLETE STOP, REQUIRING ME TO SHIFT THE CAR INTO PARK, RESTART THE CAR, AND THEN PUT IT BACK INTO GEAR. I HAVE THE DSG TRANSMISSION AND THIS ISSUE HAS OCCURRED BOTH WITH THE AUTO START/STOP ON AND WITH IT OFF. I SOMETIMES DON'T REALIZE THE ENGINE HAS STALLED UNTIL I HAVE TO START MOVING AGAIN, AT A RED LIGHT FOR INSTANCE, WHICH CREATES A DANGEROUS SITUATION.
THE CAR WILL STALL WHILE IN NEUTRAL OR WITH THE CLUTCH FULLY DEPRESSED IN 1ST GEAR WHEN SLOWING TO A STOP. IT HAPPENED IN A PARKING LOT WHILE COASTING IN NEUTRAL TO A STOP. IT THEN HAPPENED THREE MORE TIMES IN STOP AND GO TRAFFIC. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN RANDOMLY; THERE IS NOTHING SPECIFICALLY THAT SEEMS TO TRIGGER IT OR PREVENT IT. THE CAR WILL SIMPLY CUT OUT AND DIE WHILE OUT OF GEAR AND SLOWING TO A STOP BELOW 10MPH. CLEARLY STALLING RANDOMLY IN TRAFFIC IS A SAFETY CONCERN FOR MYSELF AND THOSE AROUND ME AND VOLKSWAGEN NEEDS TO ADDRESS IT.
AFTER THE ENGINE HAS WARMED UP, CAR WILL OCCASIONALLY STALL EVEN WITH CLUTCH FULLY DEPRESSED AND COMING TO A STOP. THE STALL IS GENTLE, LIKE THE ENGINE IS JUST SWITCHED OFF. THE CAR DOES NOT LURCH.
WHEN I AM SLOWING DOWN TO A STOP AND I HAVE THE CAR OUT OF GEAR, THE ENGINE WILL SOFT STALL AND REQUIRE RESTARTING. THIS HAPPENS IN TRAFFIC AND IS VERY DISORIENTING.
I HAVE BEEN DRIVING MANUAL TRANSMISSIONS FOR ALMOST 10 YEARS. I HAVE HAD THE CAR STALL ON ME THREE TIMES WHILE MOVING AT LOW SPEEDS WHILE IN FIRST GEAR, SPECIFICALLY WHEN PARKING AND WE STARTING TO MOVE AGAIN FROM A STOP AT A LIGHT. THE ENGINE SHUTS OFF ALMOST AS IF THE ENGINE'S START/STOP FEATURE ENGAGED, NOT LIKE A TYPICAL STALL. THE CAR IS BRAND NEW WITH 350 MILES AS OF TODAY WHEN IT HAPPENED FOR THE THIRD TIME.
THE VEHICLE I HAVE PURCHASED STALLS SOFTLY FREQUENTLY. IT USUALLY STALLS WHEN COMING TO A STOP FROM A LOW SPEED. IT ALSO STALLS WHILE THE GEAR IS IN NEUTRAL AND COMING FROM A STOP. THE STALLING ALSO HAS OCCURRED WHILE THE CLUTCH PEDAL IS FULLY PRESSED. VOLKSWAGEN NEEDS TO ADDRESS THIS CONCERN ASAP. THIS AFFECTS THE SAFETY OF THE DRIVER AND THE PEOPLE AROUND ME.
