MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS CONSTANTLY ON AND I HAVE NEVER GOTTEN A RECALL NOTICE. *TR
AIRBAG LIGHT WENT ON ABOUT TWO MONTHS AGO. I KNOW THAT MANY VWS, INCLUDING 2010 JETTAS LIKE MINE, WERE SUBJECT TO RECALL FOR CLOCK SPRING. I BELIEVE MY CAR SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THAT RECALL AND THIS SHOULD BE FIXED FREE OF CHARGE BY VW. CALLED DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID IT'S NOT AND THAT I'D HAVE TO PAY THE $125 DIAGNOSTIC FEE TO HAVE IT CHECKED OUT. HAVE READ MANY STORIES OF HOW YOU ARE RECEIVING MY COMPLAINTS FROM VW OWNERS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXPANDED. LIGHT IS ON ALL THE TIME. CALLED VW CUSTOMER CARE AND THEY COULD NOT HAVE BEEN LESS HELPFUL. CALLED YESTERDAY AND ASKED TO SPEAK WITH A SUPERVISOR. THEY SAID THERE NO SUPERVISOR WOULD BE AVAILABLE UNTIL THE FOLLOWING AFTERNOON. PLEASE EXPEDITE I'M VERY CONCERNED ABOUT MY SAFETY AND DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. HAVE BEEN LOYAL VW CUSTOMER SINCE 1998 BUT GIVEN THIS EXPERIENCE AND THE COMPANY'S RECENT ETHICAL MALFEASANCE, AM NOT SURPRISED THE COMPANY IS STRUGGLING TO STAY AFLOAT.
ABS ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. FOUND EVIDENCE ONLINE THAT VW EXTENDED COVERAGE FOR REPLACEMENT OF THIS MODULE. FAULT CODE FOR SAFETY RECALL FOR ABS MODULE IS 16V-913. WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT MODULE IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. IN ADDITION, AIR BAG INDICATOR IS ON AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. JUST HAD THE CHEAT DEVICE REMOVED TWO MONTHS AGO.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE EXPRESSWAY WHEN A CAR ON THE SHOULDER PULLED OUT WITHOUT SEEING ME. I WENT TO HONK MY HORN AND IT DIDN'T WORK. I LUCKILY SWERVED INTO THE NEXT LANE WITHOUT HITTING THE CAR IN THE NEXT LANE. I FOUND OUT IT'S NOT JUST MY HORN BUT THE COCK SPRING NEEDS REPLACING. NOTHING ON MY STEERING WHEEL WORKS NOW AND MY AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON.

VEHICLE WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON FOR ABS AND AIRBAG WHILE DRIVING. TESTING AT DEALERSHIP CONCLUDED ABS CONTROL MODULE, ABS HYDRAULIC PUMPS NEED REPLACING AT 77,000 MILES. AIRBAG SEAT POD ON PASSENGER SIDE NEEDS REPLACING AT 77,000 MILES.
ABS CONTROL MODULE PROBLEM/FAILURE WE SAW A RECALL FOR 2009 MODELS WITH THIS ISSUE! OUR VEHICLE IS A 2010 JETTA SPORTWAGON WITH LESS THAN 80K MILES ON IT WHICH WE PURCHASE DIN DECEMBER OF 2009 WITH A 7 YEAR/100K MILE EXTENDED WARRANTY. WE WERE ALWAYS REALLY HAPPY WITH THE CAR UNTIL WE GOT THE NOTICE THAT THIS WAS ONE OF THE CARS WITH THE EMISSIONS CHEATS IN IT. AS WE HAD SUCH LITTLE MILEAGE ON THE CAR WE ELECTED (AFTER MUCH CONTEMPLATION MIND YOU) TO HAVE THE CAR "FIXED" AND TOOK THE $5K IN RESTITUTION THEY OFFERED. JUST AFTER THE EMISSIONS "FIX" THE CAR STARTED SPUTTERING WHEN IN IDLE SPEED SO WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP BUT WERE TOLD THEY DID NOT SEE ANY ERROR CODES AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM SO WE KEPT DRIVING THE CAR BUT THIS ISSUE DID NOT GO AWAY AND IS STILL A CONSTANT AGGRAVATION TO US AS THE ENTIRE CAR SHAKES WHEN THIS OCCURS. JUNE 2018 THE BRAKE LIGHT, THE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT, AND THE ABS LIGHT CAME ON. WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY HOOKED IT UP TO THE COMPUTER WHICH INSTRUCTED THEM THAT THE ABS MODULE AND PUMP NEED TO BE REPLACED, APPROXIMATELY A $3,000 REPAIR. WE TOOK IT TO ANOTHER MECHANIC WHO INSTRUCTED US THAT THE PUMP WAS FINE BUT THE MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO THE FAULT THEY READ. JULY 2018, IN ADDITION TO THE PREVIOUS LIGHTS COMING ON, NOW THE DIESEL PRE-HEAT LIGHT CAME ON, THE STEERING LIGHT CAME ON, THE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON AND THE ESP LIGHT CAME ON, THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ONCE AGAIN WE TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND GOT THE SAME ANSWER: THE ABS CONTROL MODULE IS FAULTY. WE ARE GETTING A THIRD OPINION AS WE HAVE A BAD FEELING THAT THE SOFTWARE UPDATE THEY INSTALLED FOR THE EMISSIONS "REPAIR" IS SETTING OFF SOME OF THESE COMMUNICATIONS ISSUES. AFTER 8.5 YEARS WITHOUT ANY ISSUES TO HAVE THESE PROBLEMS AFTER THEY "FIX" THE SOFTWARE SEEMS AWFULLY COINCIDENTAL.

I WAS INVOLVED IN A CAR ACCIDENT ON 6/01/2017. THE POLICE ESTIMATED THAT THE CAR THAT HIT ME FROM THE BACK WAS GOING 55MPH. MY AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY...EVEN THOUGH MY CAR WAS TOTALED DUE TO SUFFERING EXTENSIVE FROM END DAMAGE. MY CAR WAS STOPPED AT THE MOMENT OF IMPACT. DUE TO THE FAILURE OF MY AIRBAG MY FACE AND SHOULDER HIT THE STEERING WHEEL CAUSING ME TO LOSE A TOOTH AND CAUSE GREAT DAMAGE TO MY SHOULDER.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. THE VIN WAS NOT PROVIDED.
"TAKATA RECALL" I WAS DRIVING ON SCOTT STREET, WHEN ANOTHER DRIVER RAN THE RED LIGHT ON THE INTERSECTION AND HIT MY CAR ON THE PASSENGER SIDE TOWARDS THE BACK PASSENGER DOOR, AND THE AIRBAG DIDN'T DEPLOY. I INFORMED VW, THEY DID A DIAGNOSTIC TEXT ON MY CAR AND THEIR FINDINGS WAS THAT THE AIRBAG DID WHAT IT WAS SUPPOSED TO DO. I DIDN'T TAKE IT ANY FURTHER.
DURING A TRIP, THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON AND AIRBAG SERVICE MESSAGE WAS DISPLAYED WHEN I RESTARTED MY CAR AFTER FILLING UP THE GAS TANK. WHEN I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER, THEY FOUND THE CODE FOR FAULTY N9S - AIRBAG EXCEEDED. AS I UNDERSTOOD IT, I HAD NO AIRBAG PROTECTION DURING THE TIME IT TOOK TO GET THIS FIXED. VW CORPORATE REFUSED TO PAY FOR ANY OF THIS REPAIR, WHICH COST ME $913.58 TO REPLACE THE AIRBAG IN THE STEERING COLUMN. VW CLAIMED THAT MY CAR VIN WAS NOT PART OF ANY PREVIOUSLY ANNOUNCED AIRBAG SAFETY RECALLS.

THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED BUT FAILED RESPOND ON THE WET ROAD. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE VEHICLE. THE AIR BAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED BACK INJURIES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED AND DEEMED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 91,647.
AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. DIAGNOSED BY VW AS A PROBLEM WITH THE "STEERING WHEEL CLOCK SPRING". ALTHOUGH PRESS RELEASE INCLUDED RECALL INFORMATION FOR THIS PART AND PROBLEM, ON THIS MAKE AND MODEL, VW DECLINED TO INCLUDE MY VEHICLE IN ITS RECALL. SINCE THIS VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED FOR MY 17 YEAR OLD NEW DRIVER AND SAFETY, I HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO PAY OVER $360 TO REPLACE THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAG PART. VW SAID THEY WOULD REIMBURSE ME IF THE VEHICLE DID END UP IN THE RECALL AT A LATER DATE.

STARTING IN MAY 2015 WE BEGAN TO NOTICE THAT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD NOT ALWAYS SEEM TO WORK CORRECTLY WHEN MY SON SAT THERE. I JUST FIGURED IT TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE LIGHT IN THE DASH. MY SON WEIGHING IN THE 60 POUND RANGE, I KNEW IT SHOULD NOT OF BEEN ON WHEN HE WAS THERE. SOMETIMES IT SAID OFF SOMETIMES IT DID NOT. I ALWAYS FELT THIS WAS AN INDICATOR LIGHT ISSUE NOT THINKING A CAR THIS NEW WITH SUCH LOW MILES COULD HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE AIRBAG. ON AUGUST 23, 2015 AS I WAS DRIVING ALONE I NOTICED THE CAR WAS NOT COOLING DOWN SO I WAS LOOKING TO SEE IF I FORGOT TO TURN SOMETHING ON WHEN I NOTICED THAT THE A/C WAS INDEED ON, AND NOT WORKING, AS WELL AS THE AIRBAG LIGHT IN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER WAS ILLUMINATED. THERE ARE MULTIPLE PROBLEMS. DEALER DIAGNOSTICS VERIFIED MY CONCERNS. FOUND DTCS PRESENT FOR PODS MODULE. PODS MODULE NEEDS REPLACED. FOUND DTCS FOR HIGH PRESSURE SWITCH OPEN. SENSOR NEEDS REPLACED. ESTD; $1800 THE PROBLEM WITH THE PASSENGER AIRBAG IS THAT THE SENSOR FOR THE WEIGHT OF THE PERSON DOES NOT WORK CORRECTLY. VW HAS THIS INTEGRATED INTO THE SEAT BASE THAT ALSO IS HEATED. THE ENTIRE SEAT BASE WITH REPLACEMENT COST OF OVER $1400 MUST BE REPLACED IN ITS ENTIRETY TO MAKE THIS REPAIR. AT THIS POINT I WAS TOLD THAT VW IS NOT MAKING REPAIRS OF THIS TYPE. SINCE THEN I HAVE ALSO HAD THE TIRE LIGHTS COME ON THEN OFF PERIODICALLY AS WELL AS SOME IPOD DOCK ISSUES. THERE SEEMS TO BE MANY ISSUES RELATED TO ELECTRICAL ISSUES THAT VW FEELS THEY HAVE NO RESPONSIBILITY OVER. I HAVE READ THAT OTHERS HAVE HAD THESE ISSUES POSTED UNOFFICIALLY ON OTHER SITES.

AT APPROXIMATELY 1:30PM ON JULY 14, 2014 MY MOM WAS DRIVING SOUTH BOUND ON HIGHWAY 99. SHE SLOWED DOWN DUE TO HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION AND TO MERGE ONTO HIGHWAY 58 EAST WHEN SHE WAS STRUCK FROM BEHIND BY A PICK UP TRUCK. SHE THEN STRUCK THE VEHICLE IN FRONT OF HER.
