The right headlight has not worked since I bought my car. I bought new headlights and it still wouldn’t work. So I seen a recall on the lights of the car I have.
AIR BAG AND ALL STEERING WHEEL CONTROLS FAILED. HAD SIMILAR ISSUE AND HAD CLOCK SPRING REPLACE 12/26/2016 AND APPEARS TO HAVE FAILED AGAIN 4 YEARS LATER.
VW IS HAS A RECALL AND WARRANTY EXTENTION ON 2013 - 2014 VW PASSAT TDI WITH ENGINE CODE CKRA, WHICH MINE IS, FOR THE HEATER CORE,. SYSMPTOM ARE NO HEAT ON PASSNAGER SIDE, SAME SYSMPTOM I AM EXPERIENCING. YET VW SAYS MINE IS NOT COVERED YET FALLS IN THE APRAMITERES. THEY CLAIM THERE ARE A RANGE OF VINS BUT WILL NOT PROVIDE ME WITH THAT INFO TO SEE IF MINE IS COVERED. THEY WILL NOT EXPLAIN WHY SOME ARE AND SOME ARE NOTCOVERED AS THEY ARE ALL THE SAME CAR, WITH THE SAME APRT SAME ISSUES, YET VW WILL ONLY COVER REPLACEMENT ON CERATIN MODELS. YET THEY WONT EXPLAIN WHICH.
CLOCK SPRING STOPPED WHILE PULING OUT MY PARKING LOT
STARTING THE CAR IS A PROBLEM . I'LL BE DRIVING IT FROM TIME TO TIME . THEN IT WILL JUST STOP WORKING. SO VERY DANGEROUS WHEN I'M AT A RED LIGHT AND IT STALLS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE PARKING THE VEHICLE AT HIS RESIDENCE, THE VEHICLE WAS SHIFTED FROM REVERSE TO PARK HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE WAS REVERSING. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED AND STOPPED WITH THE PARKING BRAKE. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO IMMEDIATELY REMOVE THE KEY FROM THE IGNITION SWITCH. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DRIVABLE. ALEXANDRIA VOLKSWAGEN LOCATED AT 107 W GLEBE RD, ALEXANDRIA, VA 22305, (703) 684-8888 WAS CONTACTED AND MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER HAD NOT BEEN INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 120,000.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHT WILL NOT STAY ON. THE CONTACTS BETWEEN THE BULB HOLDER AND THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY DO NOT SAY CONNECTED, THEREFORE, THE LIGHT DOES NOT WORK
CLOCK SPRING BROKE
CHECK ENGINE LIGHT AND EPC LIGHT SUDDENLY CAME ON DURING ACCELERATION AROUND 40MPH. ACCELERATION DROPPED AND IDLE IS ROUGH. CHECK ENGINE AND EPC LIGHT AND ROUGH IDLE WITH NO ACCELERATION OCCURS EVERY TIME VEHICLE IS STARTED. OBDII CODES SHOW MISFIRE. ONLINE FORUMS SHOW SIMILAR CASES WITH NO CONSISTENT REASON OR FIX BETWEEN 30K AND 70K MILES.
PURCHASED THE CAR IN JULY OF 2020 AND HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH HEADLIGHT BULBS NOT WORKING. STARTED OFF WITH LOW BEAMS, REPLACED WITH NEW ONES AND ONLY ONE WORKED. SINCE THEN, THE HIGH BEAMS HAVE QUIT WORKING AS WELL AS THE FOG LIGHTS WHICH WERE REPLACED WHEN PURCHASED VEHICLE.
MY 2013 VOLKWAGEN PASSAT I PURCHASED IN NOVEMBER OF 2019 HAS CONTINUED TO HAVE SO MANY PROBLEMS INVOLVING WHAT I HAVE BEEN TOLD THE MAJOR RECAL THE VOLKSWAGEN HAS FOR MY VEHICLE. HOW EVER I ONLY SEE THE RECAL FIX FOR MY VEHICLE BACK IN OCTOBER OF 2019 YET IT WAS BACK IN THE DEALER FOR THE SAME RECAL JUST 6 WEEKS AGO AND NOW I HAVE HAD IT IN ANOTHER MACHANIC SHOP FOR THE 2ND TIME NOW SAME RECAL ISSUES AND I CANT GET AN HONES ANSWER FROM ANY ONE. MY VEHICLE WAS ALSO SUPPOSED TO BE AT THE DEALER SHIP JUST ABOUT 6 WEEKS AGO BUT I WENT THERE AND MY VEHICLE WAS NOT THERE YET THEY WOULD NOT GIVE ME ANY INFORMATION AND MY GPS IS ON HOWEVER MY ACCOUNT INFORMATION IS INCORRECT.
2014 PASSAT WITH CONTINETAL CONTIPRO TIRES. MY REAR TIRE SIDEWALL BLEW ON HIGHWAY. WITH 60K MILES. I TRACKED MY PATH DID NOT FIND ANY DEBRIS THAT COULD HAVE CAUSE THE BLOW OUT. IVE SEEN MANY CONPLAINTS ABOUT THIS TIRE FOR SAME THING. THEY SHOULD BE CHECKED WE DONT WANT FIRESTONE PART 2

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS AND MAKING A LEFT TURN, THE TURNING SIGNAL WAS ACTIVATED BUT FAILED TO OPERATE CORRECTLY ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE. THE CONTACT PURCHASED AND REPLACED THE BULB FOR THE INDICATOR HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO HARPER VOLKSWAGEN (9901 KINGSTON PIKE, KNOXVILLE, TN 37922, (888)570-1979) WHERE THE DRIVER SIDE INDICATOR WAS INSPECTED. NO RESOLUTION TO THE FAILURE WAS PROVIDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 95,000.
The contact owns a 2013 Volkswagen Passat. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle decelerated inadvertently, failed to respond upon depressing the brake pedal, and lost motive power. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact was unable to pull to the side of the road. The vehicle failed to restart and was towed to the dealer, where the EGR valve was replaced; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was towed several times, to a second dealer, Tracy Volkswagen (2605 Auto Plaza Way, Tracy, CA 95304), and an unknown turbocharger part, the fuel tank, and the battery were replaced; however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure was approximately 40,000.
PURCHASED VEHICLE LESS THAN 6 MONTHS AGO AND WOULD NOT START. HAD IT TOWED AND TECH STATES IT IS FUEL PUMP AND FUEL TANK.
WHILE IN MOTION, THANKFULLY AT A LOW SPEED, THE CAR SUDDENLY STALLED, THOUGH THE RADIO STAYED ON. AFTER GETTING OFF THE ROAD, I SAW THAT THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON AT THAT POINT, BUT IT TURNED OFF ONCE THE CAR WAS RESTARTED, ONLY TO TURN ON AGAIN SIX DAYS LATER.
FOUR DAYS FROM HAVING MY OIL CHANGED, THE ENGINE SEIZED WHILE DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE.
A BAD DESIGN ON THE TRUNK WIRING HARNESS. AFTER A FEW YEARS OF OPENING AND CLOSING THE TRUCK, BECAUSE OF THE PLACEMENT OF THE TRUNK HARNESS THIS MOTION DETERIORATES THE WIRING HARNESS CAUSING IT TO FAIL OVER TIME. THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. THERE IS CURRENTLY NO MANUFACTURE ASSISTANCE WITH THIS ISSUE NOT A RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH THE ISSUE.
MY DAUGHTER WAS IN AN ACCIDENT ON AUG 26 OF 2020. SHE WAS MAKING A LEFT HAND TURN WHEN ONCOMING TRAFFIC STRUCK HER IN PASSENGER FRONT BUMPER AND FENDER. HER CAR WAS TOTALED BECUASE OF FRAME DAMAGE. SHE ESTIMATES THE OTHER CAR WAS TRAVELING 25-30 MPH AT TIME OF IMPACT. SHE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BRAKING AT IMPACT. NO AIRBAGS DEPLOYED ON THE VW AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICTURES. ALL AIRBAGS DEPLOYED ON OTHER CAR (2013 HONDA CRV). MY CONCERN IS THE AIRBAG RECALL WAS PERFORMED PRIOR TO PURCHASING THE CAR, YET FAILED TO DEPLOY. I'VE NOTIFIED VW CUSTOMER CARE WITH LOCATION OF VEHICLE, YET THEY WONT INSPECT IT TIL I PROVIDE POLICE REPORT, WHICH IS VERY INCONVENIENT TO OBTAIN, CITING THEY CAN NOT OBTAIN IT. I TOLD THEM WHERE VEHICLE IS LOCATED, OR WAS. I FEAR IT MAY BE SOLD AND CANNIBALIZED BEFORE DETERMINING WHY THEY DID NOT DEPLOY.
THE CAR CONSUMES TOO MUCH OIL. EVERY MONTH I HAVE TO GET AN OIL CHANGE BECAUSE IT'S ALWAYS RUNNING LOW BEFORE THE NEXT CHANGE DATE. THE CAR PERIODICALLY CUTS OFF WHILE I'M DRIVING IT OR WHEN I STOP.
2013 PASSAT TDI. 136000 MILES. VEHICLE WAS DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS AND THE GLOW PLUG LIGHT STARTED TO FLASH, NO OTHER INDICATOR LIGHTS OR CAR PERFORMANCE ISSUES WERE NOTED AT THIS TIME. CAR WAS PULLED OVER SAFETY TO A TOWN WITHIN 5 MILES, THE CAR WAS SHUT DOWN. JUST TO SEE IF IT WAS A GLITCH CAR WAS RESTARTED BRIEFLY AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT REMAINED ON. CAR WAS IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF. WHILE ON THE PHONE RELAYING MY INFORMATION TO FAMILY, BYSTANDERS ADVISED ME THAT THE CAR WAS ON FIRE BELOW THE ENGINE BAY. THE FIRE WAS QUICKLY PUT OUT WITH WATER. THE DAMAGE SEEMS TO BE IN THE SAME AREA AS HAS BEEN NOTED BY RECALLS 17V309000 AND 16V171000, BOTH OF THESE RECALLS WERE COMPLIED WITH PRIOR TO THIS EVENT. DOCUMENTATION OF THIS IS MAINTAINED WITH THE OWNER. ALL SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS HAVE BEEN COMPLETED AT VOLKSWAGEN DEALERSHIPS SINCE PURCHASE, ALL RECORDS MAINTAINED.

THE DRIVER AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON. HAS BEEN ON SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE.
The clock spring has broken and disables all steering wheel buttons, horn, and the driver airbag. I've replaced it and it broke again in less than a year.
THE CAR IS BURNING OIL AT AN ALARMING RATE. I HAVE TO ADD 4 QUARTS OF OIL BETWEEN OIL CHANGES.

THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT SUBJECTED TO A RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 181,305.
WHEN DRIVING OR STATIONERY THE DRIVER SIDE LOW BEAM LAMP GOES ON/OFF BY ITSELF. I HAVE THE HEADLAMP SWITCH SET ON AUTO POSITION I REPLACE THE BULB BUT THE PROBLEM PERSIST. *TR
A. THE ENGINE. 1. MY VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT 2013 TDI CAN NOT PASS MASSACHUSETTS STATE INSPECTION, AFTER SEVERAL TIMES OF REPAIR THE PROBLEM WAS TRACKED TO EMISSION THAT THE REPAIR SHOP WAS NOT ABLE TO FIX IT (ALPHACARS & MOTORCYCLES, ALPHACARS, 649 MASSACHUSETTS AVE, BOXBOROUGH, MA 01719, PHONE: (978) 263-9000). (DATES OF REPAIRS: ~05/30/2020, ~06/29/2020) 2. DEALER DID THREE RECALLS AND REPAIRING FOR EMISSION, CHARGED $590 (07/31/2020). BUT EMISSION ISSUE PERSISTED (08/27/20), AND NEEDED TO BE RETURNED TO DEALER (08/28/20). 3. DEALER INTENDED TO CHARGE ANOTHER $650 FOR 'DIAGNOSIS' OF THE EMISSION ISSUE (09/09/2020). 4. THE DIESEL EMISSION ISSUE OF THIS VEHICLE IS NOT FIXED AFTER MANY REPAIRS, WHEN THIS ISSUE CAN BE FIXED IS UNKNOWN, WHETHER IT IS POSSIBLE TO HAVE THIS ISSUE FIXED IS UNKNOWN. GIVEN THAT THIS DIESEL EMISSION ISSUE COMES FROM VOLKSWAGEN'S WELL KNOWN SOFTWARE SCANDAL ON DIESEL EMISSIONS, AND LIKELY DUE TO DEFECTIVE MODIFICATION CONDUCTED LATER, THIS VEHICLE IMPOSES A MAJOR RISK TO DRIVER'S SAFETY. B. AIRBAG. EVERY TIME I START THE VEHICLE, I GOT WARNING MESSAGE ABOUT THE AIRBAG, EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE IS REGULARLY MAINTAINED BY VOLKSWAGEN DEALER. THE AIRBAG MAY BE DEFECTIVE, AND IMPOSES A MAJOR RISK TO DRIVER'S SAFETY. C. THE VEHICLE HAD MAJOR COOLANT LEAKING. AT REGULAR MAINTENANCE WITH DEALER, AFTER MY COMPLAINT, THE DEALER FOUND A HOLE AND FIXED IT. AROUND MIDDLE OF JUNE, 2020, THE LEAKING BECAME VERY SEVERE, I GOT WARNING LIGHT WHEN DRIVING ON HIGHWAY, AND THE ENGINE TEMPERATURE WAS VERY HIGH AND HAD A DANGER OF COMPLETE SHUTDOWN.
YESTERDAY MORNING MY CAR NOTIFIED ME TO CHECK MY LEFT LOW BEAM. AFTER LOOKING AT IT I NOTICED THAT I WAS OUT. I WENT OVER TO A PARTS STORE AND BOUGHT THE BULB. I REPLACED IT, AND WORKED AFTER WIGGLING IT AROUND. THIS MORNING I TURN ON MY CAR TO THE SAME NOTIFICATION ON MY CAR. I WALK OUT AND NOTICE THAT THE BULB IS OUT AGAIN. I OPEN THE HOOD OF MY CAR AND NOTICE A LITTLE SMOKE COMING FROM THE LOW BEAM AREA. WHEN I HAD PULLED OUT THE LOW BEAM BASE WITH THE BULB STILL ATTACHED SOME SMOKE WAS COMING OUT OF THE CONTACTS. AFTER SOME RESEARCH I HAVE SEEN MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS EXACT ISSUE AND TURNS OUT THAT THE MODULE MELTS THE CONTACTS OF THE SOCKET, RESULTING IN LOSING CONNECTION. I'M LUCKY THAT I MANAGED TO PULL THE BASE OUT IN TIME. IF I HAD NOT OPENED MY HOOD A FIRE COULD POTENTIALLY HAVE STARTED. THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AS THIS IMPEDES THE DRIVER'S VISIBILITY TO DRIVE WHICH CAN RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT WHETHER IT'S WITH THEMSELVES OR ANOTHER DRIVER ON THE ROAD.. OR FAR WORSE A CYCLIST AT NIGHT. NOT TO MENTION YOU CAN RECEIVE A TICKET FOR HAVING A HEADLIGHT OUT.
CAR DEALER CLAIMED THEY HAD FIXED ALL NECESSARY REPAIRS TO CAR THAT I HAD SAID WERE NEEDED PRIOR TO ME PURCHASING. THE INDICATOR LIGHTS WENT OFF AS SOON AS CAR GOT MOVING. CONTACTED AUTO DEALER WHO SAID THEY WOULD TAKE IT BACK IN AND GET IT TAKEN CARE OF. THEN REFUSED TO WORK ON CAR, TOLD ME TO TAKE IT TO MECHANIC NEAR ME AND SEND THEM THE INFORMATION TO HAVE IT COVERED. THEN REFUSED TO PAY FOR REPAIRS TO CAR. DUE TO THEIR INCORPORATION AND REFUSALS NEARLY RESULTED IN ACCIDENT WHEN CAR TIRE BLEW OUT WHILE DRIVING THROUGH TOWN. CAR WAS GOING AT LOW ENOUGH SPEED TO STOP BEFORE MORE DAMAGES COULD TAKE PLACE. NOW DEALER REFUSING TO EVEN TALK TO ME.
2013 PASSAT TDI SEL. EMISSION MODIFICATION AT 28,514 MILES. NOW 29,200 MILES ON ODOMETER. BOUGHT THE CAR LESS THAN A MONTH AGO. VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH DIESEL MISFUELING GUARD. STOPPED AT GROCERY STORE AND ALSO FILLED UP DIESEL FROM SAM'S CLUB. DROVE 4 MILES DOWN THE ROAD AROUND 40 MPH AND ABOUT TO ENTER HIGHWAY WHEN GLOW PLUG INDICATOR STARTED FLASHING AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. HEARD SOME RATTLING AND THE ENGINE SHUT DOWN WITHOUT WARNING. COASTED OVER TO SHOULDER. WOULD NOT START. ABANDONED THE CAR FOR THE NIGHT. NEXT DAY I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO VW. THEY TESTED THE FUEL AND IT TESTED FINE. DIAGNOSED AS A FAILED HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. IT EXPLODED AND SENT SHRAPNEL THROUGH THE FUEL LINES AND FORWARD INTO THE ENGINE AND EXHAUST SYSTEM. ALSO SENT SHRAPNEL BACKWARDS INTO FUEL FILTER, FUEL TANK, AND LOW PRESSURE FUEL PUMP. $5500-$7500 REPAIR QUOTED IF NOT UNDER WARRANTY.
TRUNK WIRE HARNESS FAILURE. TRUNK DOES NOT OPEN FROM KEY FOB, DRIVER SIDE BUTTON, OR OUTSIDE TRUNK LEVER. THE ONLY WAY TO OPEN THE TRUNK IN MANUAL LEVER FROM INSIDE THE TRUNK.
THE REAR DRIVER SIDE TAILLIGHTS AND TURN SIGNAL QUIT WORKING, REPLACED BULBS STILL BROKE. AIRBAG WARNING LIGHT STAYS ON, THIS IS THE SAME PROBLEM THAT MANY OF THE VW HAVE. MY VIN SHOWS THAT 5 REPAIRS HAVE BEEN FIXED IF THESE ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FIXED IT DIDN'T WORK. RECALLS WERE OVER BEFORE I GOT THE CAR SO WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO? THESE PROBLEMS OCCUR WHETHER I'M STATIONARY OR MOVING.
MINOR FRONT END COLLISION CAUSING EXPLOSION OF CAR CAUSING MY SON TO BURN TO DEATH

THE TDI DIESEL TANK SLOSHES WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP. THE NOISE IS A MAJOR NUISANCE. ARE THERE NO BAFFLES IN THE FUEL TANK?
PASSAT WAS TRAVELING SOUTH WHEN ANOTHER VEHICLE RAN A STOP SIGN, TURNED NORTH INTO THE SOUTHBOUND LANE, AND HIT PASSAT ON PASSENGERS SIDE FRONT CAUSING CAR TO SPIN AND COME TO A STOP WHEN IT HIT FRONT CENTER INTO A LIGHT POLE. SEATBELTS DID NOT LOCK, AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY, EVEN THOUGH ALL RECALLS HAD BEEN DONE IN SEPTEMBER. PASSAT WAS COMPLETELY TOTALED. INSURANCE ADJUSTER AND MECHANICS ADVISED US THAT AIRBAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED. DRIVER OF PASSAT WAS INJURED DUE TO FAILURE OF SAFETY FEATURES.
MY 2013 VW PASSAT TDI HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 3 TIMES FOR A CRANK BUT NO START CONDITION.FIRST TIME WHEN THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER DROPPED IT OFF IT STARTED RIGHT UP, SO WE PICKED IT UP AND WENT ON OUR WAY. THE SECOND TIME IT HAD A BAD FUEL LIFT PUMP THAT THEY REPLACED THE THIRD TIME A COMPLETE HPFP FAILURE THAT AT 151,000 MILES THEY WILL NOT TAKE CARE OF. AFTER LOOKING INTO THE PROBLEM I FIND OUT THAT THE FAULTY LIFT PUMP MAY HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO THE FAILURE AND IN CALIFORNIA THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM. CAN YOU HELP IN ANY WAY? REVERSE LIGHTS STOP WORKING
MY FIANCE WAS TAKING A LEFT TURN CROSSING A BUSY ROAD DURING HOURS OF DUSK. HEADLIGHTS WERE ON. HE WAS NOT ABLE TO SEE THE OPENING OF THE ROAD WHEN TURNING AND DROVE OVER THE SIDE WALK AND CRASHED. FRONT AIR BAGS DEPLOYED AND WINDSHIELD CRACKED. 3 TIRED POPPED ALONG WITH OTHER FONT END BODY DAMAGE. I HAD JUST PURCHASED CAR FROM A DEALERSHIP A FEW MONTHS EARLIER. LATER I RESEARCHED ANY RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE AND A RECALL DEALING WITH HEADLIGHT ISSUES AND THE HEADLIGHTS ON MY VEHICLE NOT BEING ABLE TO BE ADJUSTED PROPERLY, CAME UP. IF THIS ISSUE WAS FIXED BEFORE I BOUGHT THE CAR, MY FIANCE WOULD HAVE NOT CRASHED.
SQUEAKING IF SUSPENSION WHEN I GO OVER BUMPS
THE DRIVER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE OUTSIDE OR INSIDE. THERE ARE MANY REPORTS THAT HIS OCCURS IN COLD CLIMATES DUE TO WATER GETTING INTO THE LOCK ACTUATOR MECHANISM. IF YOU CANNOT OPEN A DOOR TO EXIT THE VEHICLE, THAT IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERN.
I ATTEMPTED TO ENTER MY VEHICLE, BUT THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY. THE TEMPERATURE WAS BELOW 30F. AFTER FINALLY GETTING IN THE CAR, I WAS NOT ABLE TO EXIT THE CAR THROUGH THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR BECAUSE IT WAS STILL STUCK. THE CAR HAD BEEN DRIVEN AROUND 40 MILES BEFORE GETTING TO MY DESTINATION. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY AND NOT RUNNING WHILE TRYING TO GET OUT. I COULD HAVE BECOME TRAPPED IN THIS VEHICLE IN AN EMERGENCY. I AM NOT EXTREMELY MOBILE AND HAD A LOT OF ISSUES EXITING THE CAR.
SINCE I BOUGHT THE CAR I'VE ALWAYS HAD ISSUES WITH THE OIL CONSUMPTION. I WAS TOLD IT WAS 'NORMAL' TO LOOSE UP TO 8 COURTS OF OIL IN-BETWEEN MY OIL CHANGES. THE DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THIS!! THE CAR HAS BEEN VERY WELL TAKEN CARE OF, I GET OIL CHANGES EVERY COUPLE THOUSAND MILES INSTEAD OF EVERY 10,000 LIKE VW RECOMMENDS. IF I DID THIS MY ENGINE WOULD QUIET LITERALLY BLOW UP. I'VE BEEN TOLD REPEATEDLY BY MULTIPLE FOREIGN REPAIR SHOPS (NON VW DEALERSHIP) THAT THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MOTOR BUT FOR WHATEVER REASON THE 2013 CC MODELS WERE NOT RECALLED. BY THE SOUNDS OF IT'S A REPAIR THAT VW REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE OR FIX. I'M UPSIDE DOWN ON THE LOAN & HAVE BEEN TOLD I BASICALLY NEED A WHOLE NEW ENGINE. NOW, EVERY TIME I REFUEL I HAVE TO ADD A QUART OF OIL OTHERWISE MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON OR I RECEIVE A 'CHECK OIL PRESSURE. ENGINE OFF' MESSAGE. I MIGHT BE A FEMALE BUT I'M NOT THAT STUPID TO KNOW THAT THIS ISN'T NORMAL! THIS IS A CONSTANT ISSUE!
THE FRONT DRIVER SIDE DOOR WILL NOT LOCK. IT WILL NOT LOCK WITH THE FAB, OR USING THE MANUAL KEY LOCK.
NO AIR BAG DETECTED IN THE CAR
I PURCHASED MY CAR NOVEMBER 20TH 2019 WITH 85,000 MILES AND 10 WEEKS LATER WHEN IT BROKE DOWN I WAS TOLD I HAD NO WARRANTY AND THEY SAY THEY ONLY SELL USED CERTIFIED WITH WARRANTY USED VEHICLES AND I WAS FORCED TO PAY 25,00 DOLLARS AND WHEN I PICKED MY CAR UP 11 DAYS LATER MY EXTRA KEY FOB WAS MISSING AND I WAS TREATED SO INCREDIBLY BAD.MY LOAN WAS SUPPOSED TO BE PROCESSED ASAP AND I SPOKE WITH THE BANK AND EVERYTHING WENT THRU AND THEN LITHIA MOTORS TOOK MY LOAN DOCS FROM WHEN I SIGNED ON NOVEMBER 20TH AND THEY COPIED THEM AND PUT THE DATE FOR NOVEMBER 21ST AND I DO HAVE THE DOCUMENTS FROM MY CAR INSURANCE COMPANY AND THE CALL WAS RECORDED WITH MY SELF THE EMPLOYEE AT LITHIA AND MY INSURANCE COMPANY AS WE GIVE INFORMATION ABOUT THE LOAN AND CAR I WAS PURCHASING AND CONSIDER LITHIA MOTORS DOES NOT ALLOW VEHICLES TO LEAVE THE LOT UNLESS A BINDER IS IN THERE POSITION. AND NOW THE FUEL SYSTEM HAS HAD ISSUES AND MY VEHICLES NOT RUNNING AND I FEAR THE LASH BACK FROM THEM SINCE THEY ABOUT TO BE SERVED WITH A LAWSUIT FROM MY LAWYER. *TR
PASSENGER HEADLIGHT SOCKET AND RING HAVE DEFORMITY CAUSING INTERMITTENT CONNECTION LOSS. VW DEALER TECH ADVISED WILL HAVE TO REPLACE SOCKET AND HEADLIGHT CONNECTION RING WITH UPGRADED PART FOR REPAIR AT COST OF $260.00. I THOUGHT THESE DEFORMED PARTS WERE CAUSE FOR RECALL ON 2013 PASSATS BUT DEALER SAID SOME 2013 VW PASSATS WERE RECALLED BUT PART WAS UPGRADED FOR SOME 2013 PASSATS SO SOME 2013 PASSATS ARE NOT INCLUDED IN RECALL. YET THE VW DEALER TECH NOTED THE DEFORMED SOCKET AND RING NEED TO BE REPLACED WITH UPGRADED PART SO MY 2013 PASSAT HAS A DEFORMED SOCKET AND RING THAT NEED TO BE REPLACED WITH UPGRADED PART. MY VW PASSAT SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN A RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 VOLKSWAGEN PASSAT. WHILE DRIVING, THE CONTACT WAS PULLED OVER BY A TROOPER BECAUSE THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT WAS NOT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE HEADLIGHT BULB WAS MELTING THE SOCKETS AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V389000 (EXTERIOR LIGHTING). THE CONTACT CALLED WEST BROAD VOLKSWAGEN (9001 W BROAD ST, RICHMOND, VA 23294, (804) 270-9000) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 85,000.
