TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 VOLKSWAGEN TOUAREG. THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATES AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOUR TIMES TO HAVE THE SENSOR MODULE RESET. IN ADDITION, THE SUN ROOF LEAKS WHENEVER IT RAINS. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED IN THAT MANNER AND REPAIRED THE FAILURE APPROXIMATELY TWO OR THREE TIMES. ALL OF THE REMAINING VEHICLES ON THE LOT ARE EXPERIENCING THE SAME FAILURE WITH THE SUNROOF. THE ISSUE CONTINUES TO OCCUR AND THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO BRING THE VEHICLE BACK FOR REPAIR. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,500.
Complaints are unverified consumer reports submitted to NHTSA. A high complaint count may reflect vehicle popularity, not defect severity. Data sourced from NHTSA public records.
