TAKATA RECALL. AIRBAGS DID NOT DEPLOY AFTER A FRONT END COLLISION BY HITTING A CONCRETE BLOCK LIGHT POST WHICH OCCURRED ON A CITY STREET WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION. RESULTING IN SEVERE DAMAGE TO VEHICLE
My 2013 Acura RDX headlights are so dim and it is very dangerous for me to drive at night. This is worse when raining or street lights aren't available. It seems to be a known issue that these cars are equipped with unsafe low-beam headlights that gradually dim over time. This is a huge safety risk, even more so for families with young kids. Why were these not raised earlier and why are these cars not recalled for the fix? Please take necessary and immediate action so lives are not lost over this. OUR PARKING PAWL MAYBE DEFECTIVE. WE ALWAYS ENGAGE OUR EMERGENCY BRAKE WHEN PARKING IN OUR DRIVEWAY; TODAY WAS NO DIFFERENT, BUT WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO RE-ENTER MY CAR IT STARTED ROLLING BACK BY ITSELF EVEN WITH THE EMERGENCY BRAKE ENGAGED. I TRIED TO STOP THE CAR FROM ROLLING BACK OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY IN FEAR FOR MY 2 YOUNG CHILDREN STILL IN THE CAR. IN THAT ATTEMPT, I ENDED UP BREAKING MY HAND AND HAD TO GO THE THE ER. EVENTS: 1. PULLED UP INTO DRIVEWAY AND STOPPED COMPLETELY 2. ENGAGED EMERGENCY BRAKE 3. PUT SHIFTER IN PARK POSITION 4. STEPPED OUT TO OPEN GARAGE 5. ATTEMPTED TO RE-ENTER VEHICLE 6. IT STARTED TO ROLL BACK 7. I TRIED TO KEEP IT FROM ROLLING BACK
PREMATURE FAILURE (50K MILES) OF REAR SHOCK ABSORBERS. RESULTS IN EXTREMELY ROUGH RIDE AND POTENTIAL HANDLING PROBLEM.
VEHICLE VIOLENTLY IS THROWN BACK WHEN STEPPING ON ACCELERATOR AT SPEEDS BELOW 40 MILES PER HOUR CAUSING EXTREME SAFETY ISSUES WHEN MERGING OR TRYING TO ACCELERATE SLIGHTLY. ACURA HAS INITIALLY STATED THAT THIS IS RELATED TO A TSB THAT CAUSES A JUDDER IN THE VEHICLE AND NEAR TERM SOLUTION IS TO CHANGE TRANSMISSION FLUID 3 TIMES ON EVERY OCCASION THIS OCCURS. ACURA STATES THAT A LONGER TERM FIX WILL BE A SOFTWARE UPDATE. IN THE INTERIM, THERE IS A VERY UNSAFE FEELING BEING IN THE VEHICLE.

NO OTHER CARS IN THE VICINITY. NO CARS PASSED US. NO RESIDENCES FOR MILES AROUND. CLEAR DAY. 41. 2:04 IN THE AFTERNOON.

AROUND 58,000 MILES TRANSMISSION STARTED HESITATING, JERKING. HAPPENS WHILE STARTING FROM A DEAD STOP, IN TURNS,AT HIGHWAY SPEED, WHILE PASSING/ACCELERATING AND ALSO ON CRUISE. ACURA AND DEALER BOTH AWARE AND SAY "ENGINEERS ARE WORKING ON A SOFTWARE FIX" (IT HAS BEEN MONTHS). HAS GOTTEN TO THE POINT SCARED TO PASS A VEHICLE OR MAKE A QUICK TURN. DEALER ADMITS SOMETHING IS WRONG BUT CANNOT FIND ANYTHING. AM HEARING COMPLAINTS FROM OTHER RDX OWNERS.

TAKATA RECALL - ACURA HAS KNOWN ABOUT THE FAULTY AIRBAG INFLATORS SINCE AT LEAST FEBRUARY OF THIS YEAR. IT IS NOW JULY AND PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE FOR MY VEHICLE. AN ACURA DEALER HAS TOLD ME THAT ACURA CORPORATE HAS NOT SENT THE PARTS TO THE DEALERS, MEANWHILE HONDA HAS BEEN ACTIVELY REPLACING AIRBAG INFLATORS ON THEIR VEHICLES.

I HAVE A 2013 ACURA RDX. I WAS NOTIFIED SOMETIME BETWEEN APRIL AND JUNE THAT MY VEHICLE WAS GOING TO RECALLED TO REPLACE ONE OR MORE AIR BAGS. I HAVE TRIED A NUMBER OF TIMES SINCE THEN TO REQUEST THE REPLACEMENT BUT HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE. DEALER SIMPLY REPEATS THAT HE HAS NOT RECEIVED THE REQUIRED PARTS FROM HONDA/ACURA TO REPAIR THIS DEFECT, DESPITE ACURA'S OWN DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM AS BEING POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS, WITH POSSIBLE INJURY OR EVEN DEATH RESULTING. THE INITIAL NOTIFICATION NOTED THAT PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE SUMMER OF 2016, BUT AS WE NEAR THE END OF JULY, ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FROM HONDA/ACURA, THOUGH LONG PAST THE 60 DAYS DESCRIBED AS A 'REASONABLE TIME PERIOD' FOR THE REPAIR.

CALLED MACCHURCHILL ACURA DEALER JULY 20, 2016 TO SCHEDULE APPT AND ADVISED THEY WOULD PLACE AN ORDER FOR AIRBAG BUT TAKES 3 TO 6 MONTHS TO RECEIVE. OBVIOUSLY AIRBAGS WERE NOT AVAILABLE AS THEIR MARCH LETTER INDICATED. AS OF THIS DATE, OCT 13, 2016, AN AIRBAG STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND I AM FORCED TO DRIVE WITH A POSSIBLE DEADLY AIRBAG. THEIR OFFER OF RENTAL DOES NOT QUALIFY AS AN ACCEPTABLE REPLACEMENT. I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH ACURA'S HANDLING OF MY AIRBAG AND CAN'T BELIEVE THIS WOULD BE ACCEPTABLE TIME TABLE FOR ANY SUCH RECALL. MY TRUCKS HEADRESTS ARE TILTED SO FAR FORWARD THAT IT CAUSES SIGNIFICANT PAIN IN MY NECK. THEY CAME THIS WAY FROM THE FACTORY. I HAVE TO TURN THE HEADREST AROUND TO RELIEVE THE PAIN, WHICH THEN EXPOSES ME TO AN EVEN HIGHER RISK OF WHIPLASH. YOU IDIOTS AT NHTSA WHO CHANGED THE REGULATIONS SO THAT CAR MANUFACTURERS HAD TO BUILD THEM THIS WAY NEED TO REPEAL THE LAW.

We purchased our 2013 Acura RDX new and have owned it since. After about 2 years, I noticed that the Low Beam lighting was not as bright as it use to be (it never seemed exceptionally bright in the first place). Over the next few years, it appeared to be getting worse. I replaced the bulbs with the appropriate aftermarket, higher lumen rated halogen bulbs, that improved it a little bit, but not very much. The low beam lighting was much worse than my 2004 Acura TL at time. I have also read the reports from other owners and my mechanic also received similar complaints from RDX customers. I am taking my car in today to have the headlight assemblies replaced and installing aftermarket halogen bulbs ($>1,000) to hopefully improve exterior lighting so we can drive the car safely at night. Note, we have not taken our 2013 Acura RDX out at night in over 5 years as it's just not safe.

The contact stated that the headlights were dim, causing the visibility to become impaired. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with failed delaminated headlight housings. The contact was informed that the headlight housings needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. THE CAR NOW HAS HAD TO GET TWO DIFFERENT WHEEL BEARINGS CHANGED (UNDER WARRANTY). PER DEALERSHIP, ITS A "KNOWN PROBLEM" WITH THE RDX. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,451.
MICHELIN PRIMACY MXM4 P235/60R18 TIRES WITH A LITTLE OVER 13000 MILES THAT CAME NEW ON 2013 ACURA RDX. WOULD NOT STOP ON A SLIGHT DOWN HILL ROAD THAT WAS DAMP. STARTING STOPPING AT A SAFE DISTANCE BUT ALL THEY WOULD DO WAS SLIDE AND SKID. STOPPED FINALLY WITH FRONT OF CAR SLIGHTLY IN ONCOMING LANE. JUST AS I GOT STOPPED A DUMP TRUCK WENT ACROSS IN THAT LANE RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. NOT THE FIRST TIME I HAVE HAD TRACTION PROBLEMS BUT THE FIRST TIME I ALMOST GOT IN SERIOUS TROUBLE. VERY ROUGH RIDE MAKING CLUNKING NOISE TOOK CAR TO ACURA DEALER JULY 23, 2014 THEY SAID THEY REPLACED BOTH REAR SHOCKS THAT THERE WAS A FAULTY PART THAT WAS RECALLED. OPERATION OF GPS VOICE ACTIVATION SYSTEM CAUSES SIGNIFICANT DRIVE DISTRACTION AND IS POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS. FRIENDS WITH THE SAME MODEL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
