I was driving and all of a sudden I hit a pot hole and then when I went to take a turn my car ended up making a shaking rattling sound when I pulled to to side to check it the ball joint was half way out of the control arm
Car stopped working three days after I purchased it.

In December of 2022, my power steering hoses were found to be leaking. This was confirmed by a local mechanic, but not any manufacturers or insurance reps. There were no warning lights or symptoms prior to this happening. Upon my research, I noticed that there is a standing recall for the 2004 Acura TL, but not for my specific VIN. I believe that my issue may be related to this recall (08V-091) and believe this recall should be added to my vehicle.
The contact owns a 2004 Acura TL. The contact stated while driving at 60 MPH with her mother in the front passenger’s side seat, her mother informed her that the vehicle was bouncing. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where the front lower control arms, shocks, and bushings were replaced; however, the contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the driver's side of the vehicle dropped significantly and the vehicle stopped. The vehicle was towed to the residence. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not under recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact associated the failure with NHTSA Campaign Number: 11E022000 (Suspension). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 150,000.
16 y/o driving and stopped at a traffic light. He attempted to go when the light turned green, heard a pop, engine was revving but the car was not moving. It was acting as if it was in neutral. Luckily a police car was right there and they helped him push it to a parking lot. This car has 99K miles on it. He almost got hammered by the car behind him. This is a transmission issue and we had absolutely no warning and has been driving and servicing this car with no issues. There are a lot of info online with transmission issues in these year/model cars. This put my son in extreme danger.
I have a defective dashboard in my Acura TL. The dashboard is cracking. One of the crack pieces popped out and flew into my eye while driving. I almost rear-ended someone. I would hate for this to happen to anyone else. There needs to be a recall on all dashboards. 2. I can not see through my review mirror. The top half is light grey and the lower half is blacked out/tinted. A rearview mirror is needed to drive safely and I can not see out of mine. It is very difficult to use. I am unsafe trying to use it. 3. Cracked seats. The cracked seats are cutting my legs and my passenger's legs. With the way the world is today, we can not drive around in cars with cracked seats. This is hazardous to our health. There heighten the chances of spreading diseases by exchanging blood and body fluids through the cuts. The cracking of the seats is not safe.
I purchased this used car and while driving the VSA (Vehicle Stability Assis) light comes on with the accompanying trianlge with exclamation point. When the light comes on while driving the car will tug you to the right. Once you stop the vehicle and turn off and re-start the light will turn off. As you drive again, the light comes on and tugs the vehicle to the right. When we purchased the vehicle I drove it home with my 16 year old (it is planned to be his first car) and I was on the highway going 60 and the VSA light came on and tugged the vehicle to the right. I did not lose control but it can definitely catch someone off guard and cause them to over correct. I took the car in to a local auto shop and they said there was a fault on the VSA module and a couple of other issues. I spent $1,300 to replace both front bearings, hubs, 1 speed control sensor because they recommended that be done before looking to replace the VSA modulating assembly ($1,800 + install). I checked the Acura site and (https://www.nhtsa.gov/recalls) but there is nothing there about a recall for the VSA module. I have seen other posts online of people saying that the car pulls to the right when the VSA light comes on so I seems to be an issue. In winter conditions having an issue like this could cause an over correction and/or loss of control which could cause an accident.

The dashboard on 3rd generation Acura TL has a design defect to where they will crack all over. In the event of a crash which results in a passenger-side dashboard airbag deployment, the dashboard can rip uncontrollably and send shards of rubber flying at everyone's face in the car and prevent the airbag from deploying properly. This is a very well known problem with this generation of Acura TL and the dealership refuses to address as a warrantied safety concern.
The contact owns a 2004 Acura TL. The contact stated that while driving at 10 - 15 mph, a burning odor was detected and smoke was coming from under the hood of the vehicle. The contact inspected under the hood and noticed there was fluid leaking onto the catalytic converter that was causing the smoke. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA Campaign Number: 08V091000 (Steering) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 170,000.
My "D" indicator light is blinking no matter changing the transmission fluid, cleaning the solenoids, etc. the car is not overheating, there are no apparent electrical problems and I do not even have any check engine lights or other codes. The light comes on blinking when I drive for a little while then goes off when I turn the car off and is fine. Then when I start it up it doesn't blink anymore. But then when I drive again for a while it blinks again. I've had transmission shuddering, jerky shifting, delayed shifting, etc.
Transmission is going out an a lot of people say after 200,000 miles Acura TL the 2004 transmissions start to go out which mines is doing now what can I do this is a know problem with 2004-2006 Acura TL
I noticed that my power steering hose is all dirty and full of built up power steering fluid and my airbag light in the dash screen does not come off. I’m concerned the air bag will fail in the events of an accident

I ONCE AGAIN WAS LEFT IN THE MIDDLE OF A BUSY STREET WITH NO POWER STEERING TRYING TO MUSCLE MY WAY BACK TO THE SHOP. THIS IS RIDICULOUSSSSSSS. WHY ARE THEY NOT TELLING US THEIR CARS HAVE ISSUES!!!!!
WE PURCHASED THIS CAR NEW IN 2004! THIS CAR HAS NEVER HAD A AIRBAG RECALL. I'M VERY CONCERNED THIS YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL WAS OVERLOOKED CONCERNING THE AIRBAG RECALL. EVERY SINGLE MODEL AND YEAR AROUND THIS 2004 ACURA TL WAS RECALLED FOR THE AIRBAG REPLACEMENT. WE CONSTANTLY CHECK FOR UPDATES TO ASSURE WE DO NOT MISS A NOTICE. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT CAN BE DONE TO ASSURE OUR 2004 TL AIRBAG IS SAFE?
NEAR HEAD-ON COLLISION ON UNIVERSITY BOULEVARD IN HIGHLANDS RANCH, COLORADO INVOLVING THIS VEHICLE ON OCTOBER 13, 2020. OUR CLIENT WAS A FRONT SEAT PASSENGER AND HER CURTAIN SIDE AIRBAG FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE TRANSMISSION JUST QUIT ON ME. NO POWER AT ALL.

CAR RUNS GREAT BUT WILL SKIP OUT OF GEAR AND NOT MOVE. CHANGED TRANNY FLUID AND FILTERS AND IT WAS GOOD FOR A COUPLE DAYS AND STARTED ALL OVER AGAIN HAD TO CALL A TOW TRUCK TO PICK ME UP ON THE BUSY FREEWAY. NOW CAR WILL NOT EVEN SHIFT FROM PARK AND WHEN I USE THE SIDE RELEASE BUTTON AND PUT CAR IN R IT ROLLED FORWARD. DEALER SAYS THERE IS NO RECALL ON MY VEHICLE BUT THERE IS IN OTHERS LIKE MINE AND SAME PROBLEMS. 3000 DOLLAR TRANSMISSION AND IT'S TO MUCH TO FIX SO IT'S SCRAP METAL???
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 ACURA TL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE DASHBOARD WAS FRACTURED IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE AIR BAG HOUSING. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED THAT IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH THAT THE AIR BAG MAY DEPLOY IMPROPERLY WHICH MAY CAUSE SEVERE INJURY TO THE VEHICLE OCCUPANTS FROM DEBRIS FROM THE DASHBOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO BE DIAGNOSED NOR REPAIRED. A DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND INFORMED OF THE FAILURE, CASE NUMBER: 10142090. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 97,000.
THE TRANSMISSION IS LACKING AT ANY MOMENT THAT HAPPENS TO ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET. NO SAFE ANOTHER CAR ALMOST HIT ME. NO SAFE .... MY DASH IS HORRIBLE COMPLETELY CRACKE AND THIS DEFINITELY IS GOING TO AFFECT THE AIRBAGS IN MY ACURA 2004 TL. SORRY IS THE WORS OF WORST .YES I WAS DRIVING GOING IN TO THE GAS STATION AND CAR JUST LACK I COULDN'T DO ANYTHING AFTER ABOUT 20 MINUTES. THE CAR GETS ON GEAR AGAIN AND I GET IN GAS STATION
THE DASHBOARD HAS DEVELOPED CRACKS IN THE AREA AROUND THE PASSENGER-SIDE AIRBAG. DOES THIS CONSTITUTE A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE AFFECTING THE AIRBAG DEPLOYING PROPERLY OR POSSIBLY SHARDS FROM THE DASHBOARD CAUSING ADDITIONAL INJURY? THERE HAS NOT BEEN AN ACCIDENT BUT AM CONCERNED IF A COLLISION DOES HAPPEN IN THE FUTURE.
STEERING PUMP HOSE LEAKS. I HAVE TIGHTED THE CLAMP WHICH STOPPED IT FOR A WHILE BUT IT IS LEAKING AGAIN AND THE HOSE LOOKS TO BE DETERIATING. THIS VEHICLE IS NOT PART OF THE CURRENT RECALL. ALSO THE KEY GETS STUCK IN THE IGNITION AND YOU CANT GET IT OUT. HAVE HAD THE IGNITION REPLACED AND IT HAS HAPPEED AGAIN. A SEARCH WILL FIND THAT THIS ISSUE IS ALSO ON THE MDX.
MY 2004 ACURA TL DASHBOARD ON THE PASSENGER SIDE IS CRACKED ON BOTH SIDES OF THE AIRBAG.I AM CONCERNED FOR MY SAFETY AND THE SAFETY OF THE PASSENGER BECAUSE OF THE POSITION OF THE CRACKS COULD POSSIBLY DEPLOY THE AIRBAG AND CAUSE INJURY.
I WAS PARKED IN AN AUTOMATIC CARWASH WHEN MY DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG STARTED DRIPPING WATER ON ME. I'M AFRAID THIS COULD CAUSE MY AIRBAG TO DEPLOY. I'VE ALSO EXPERIENCED CRAZY ELECTRICAL ISSUES INTERMITTENTLY THAT ARE NOT SAFE AND I WONDER IF THIS IS RELATED. I ALSO HAVE A VIDEO IF THAT IS NEEDED.
SIMPLY DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE PASSENGER SEAT SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED. CAR HAS NOT BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND DID NOT HIT A POTHOLE. RESEARCH ONLINE FINDS THIS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM, BUT ACURA DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE CONCERNED. AIRBAG EXPLOSION ALONE WAS LOUD ENOUGH TO ALMOST CAUSE AN ACCIDENT DUE TO THE SCARE.
THE DASHBOARD PANEL OF MY 04 ACURA TL IS SEVERELY CRACKED. MY CONCERN IS IF IN THE EVENT AN AIRBAG DID DEPLOY DUE TO FALSE SENSORS OR EVEN DUE TO AN ACCIDENT, HOW MUCH DAMAGE WILL THIS CAUSE ME? I UNDERSTAND THAT AN AIRBAG WILL ANNIHILATE THE DASH IF ACTIVATED AND HOPEFULLY DAMAGES ARE MINIMAL BUT THAT WAS TESTED WITH A DASHBOARD PANEL THAT WAS FULLY INTACT. I'M A LITTLE CONCERNED SINCE I ALSO HAVE 98 FORERUNNER AND THE DASH PANEL IS NEARLY EMACULANT. I FEEL THERE IS A MANUFACTURING DEFECT IN THE PLASTIC IN THESE VEHICLES THAT SHOULD BE RECALLED AND FIXED.
MY 2004 ACURA TL IS MY FIRST CAR OWNED. WHEN I PUT THE CAR IN DRIVE I CAN ONLY ACCELERATE TO 20-30MPH ON THE HIGHWAY. BECAUSE, THE CAR WOULD NOT ACCELERATE ON A STRAIGHT WAY OR UP HILLS. DASH IS COMPLETELY COVERED IN CRACKS. I FEEL LIKE THIS CAN'T BE SAFE WITH THE AIRBAGS UNDERNEATH THE CRACKS. ALSO, WHENEVER A PASSENGER IS IN MY CAR THE AIRBAG LIGHT COMES ON.
THERE IS A VERY COMMON ISSUES GOING ON WITH THESE ACURA FROM 2000 UP TO 2008. WITH TRANSMISSION GOING BAD. I RESEARCH IT AND FOUND OUT WITH EVERY SHOP AND PEOPLE ONLINE HAVING TRANSMISSION BREAK DOWN WITH THOSE ACURA TL 2000 UP TO 2005.PLEASE CAN SOMEONE INVESTIGATE THIS. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FOR THIS AT SOME POINT. THE STOP ACCELERATING WHILE I WAS DRIVING IT ON THE HIGHWAY.THAT WAS A VERY BIG SAFETY ISSUE FOR ME.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE GEARS FAILED BECAUSE THE SECOND OR THIRD GEAR WAS NOT GETTING ENOUGH LUBRICATION TO SHIFT PROPERLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EXHIBITED THE SAME SYMPTOMS AS LISTED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 04V176000 (POWER TRAIN). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
A CRACK HAS APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD OVER TOP OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG. WORRIED ABOUT PASSENGER SAFETY AND AIRBAG EFFECTIVENESS IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 ACURA TL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG COMPARTMENT WAS CRACKED AND THE AIR BAG INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DCH ACURA OF TEMECULA (951-428-2317, LOCATED AT 26705 YNEZ RD, TEMECULA, CA 92591) WHERE THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT NOTHING COULD BE DONE EXCEPT TO COVER THAT PART OF THE DASHBOARD. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT PROVIDED. *DT
THE AFTERMARKET ULTRA-POWER K500117 {#51210SEPA01} (ECONOMY) BALL JOINT REPRESENTS A SEVERE SAFETY HAZARD. IT CAN RESULT IN SEPARATION OF THE LOWER CONTROL ARM. THE JPG ULTRA-POWER K500117 {#51210SEPA01} (ECONOMY) AFTER FAILURE SHOWS THE LOWER CONTROL BUSHING RIPPED FROM THE LLOWER CONTROL ARM. JPG BECK/ARNLEY 1027932 BUSHING CLOSE-UP IS IDENTICAL DESIGN AS THE ACURA OEM PART. THIS BUSHING IS PRESSED INTO THE CONTROL ARM FROM THE TOP. FROM THE FACTORY, ONCE THE BALL JOINT IS IN PLACE, THE RETAINER NUT HOLDS BOTH THE BALL JOINT AND BUSHING SECURELY IN THE CONTROL ARM. THE FACTORY FLANGED NUT IS LARGER THAN THE BUSHING DIAMETER AS TO ENSURE CONTACT WITH THE CONTROL ARM UNDERSIDE. OBSERVE THE NUT IN .JPG ULTRA-POWER K500117 {#51210SEPA01} (ECONOMY)'S. IT IS A STANDARD LOCK NUT. THE DIAMETER IS TOO SMALL. IT MAKES NO CONTACT WITH THE CONTROL ARM, BUT RATHER SEATS DIRECTLY TO THE BUSHING. THE BUSHING IS ONLY PRESSED IN, AND WILL EVENTUALLY PULL OUT. AS CAN BE SEEN IN THE AFTER FAILURE PICTURE, THERE IS NO WAY THE NUT COULD HOLD THE BALL JOINT AND BUSHING IN PLACE AS ACURA (HONDA) DESIGNED IT TO DO. PLEASE LOOK AT THE NUT OF THE MOOG K500117 AS AN EXAMPLE OF A CORRECTLY DESIGNED BALL JOINT AND NUT, AND HOW THE NUT IS FLANGED. THIS IS THE CORRECT STYLE NUT AS IT WILL MAKE CONTACT WITH THE LOWER CONTROL ARM INSTEAD OF ONLY THE PRESSED IN BUSHING. IT CAN BE EASILY SEEN IN THE SECOND PICTURE THAT THE NUT IS CLEARLY SMALLER THAN THE CONTROL ARM BUSHING. ORDER NUMBER 82540335 THROUGH ROCK AUTO WAS PURCHASED ON 4/12/2018. THE BALL JOINT, BUSHING AND NUT SIMPLY PULLED OUT. THE LOWER CONTROL ARM IS DESTROYED, AS IS THE CV AXLE. DAMAGE TO THE FENDER AND FENDER SKIRT AS WELL. IT IS FORTUNATE THIS FAILURE HAPPENED WHILE TURNING INTO A PARKING LOT RATHER THAN AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS JUST MOMENTS BEFORE.
AS YOU CAN SEE, THESE AREN'T SMALL HAIRLINE CRACKS, THEY ARE NASTY A## LONG CRACKS ALL OVER. EACH DAY THE CRACK GET WORST AND OPEN. IT DANGEROUS BECAUSE THERE IS AIRBAGS UNDER THOSE DASHBOARD.
LAST WEEKEND I WAS DRIVING IN THE HIGHWAY ALL SUDDEN MY CAR LOSE POWER AND THE TRANSMISSION BECAME NOT ENGAGED WITH ENGINE AND ALMOST GOT INTO A MAJOR ACCIDENT. THE CAR WAS PERFORMED PERFECTLY BEFORE THAT. I KEPT THE CAR IN TOP CONDITION NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES. SO THE CAR WAS TOWED HOME AND I TRIED TO DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE AND FOUND OUT THAT THE TRAMISSION FILTER WAS BAD AND THE LOOSE FILTER COMPONENTS GOT STUCK IN THE AFTER FILTER HOSE BOLT. ACCORDING TO THE OWNERS MANUAL TRANSMISSION FILTER DOES NOT HAVE ANY MAINTENANCE SCHEDULED TO CHANGE THE FILTER. MY CAR HAS ABOUT 170,000 MILES. WHEN THE FILTER GETS OLD AND BECOME BRITTLE AND BREAKS APART AND BLOCK THE FLUID PASSAGE CAUSES MY TRAMISSION TO FAIL. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED FOR THE PICTURES WITH FILTER MATERIAL STUCK IN THE FILTER BOLT.
CAR TURNED OFF AND WOULD NOT START BACK. SECURITY LIGHT FLASHES. WILL NOT CHANGE OUR OF PARK. ENGINEERS TURNS OVER BUT WILL NOT FIRE. FUEL PUMP WILL NOT COME ON.
ONE OF THE FRONT AXLES SHEARED (BROKE IN HALF). THIS HAPPENED WHEN THE CAR STARTED MOVING FORWARD WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED GREEN. AN ACCIDENT DIDN'T RESULT BUT IF THIS HAD HAPPENED WHILE THE CAR WAS MOVING IT WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY BAD. THE MECHANIC SUGGESTED THE AXLE WAS MADE WITH WEAK METAL. THE CAR HAD 122,000 MILES ON IT AND HAS SINCE BEEN SOLD TO CARMAX. THE OTHER FRONT AXLE HAS NOT BEEN REPLACED BUT LIKELY IS MADE OF THE SAME WEAK METAL. I HAVE THE BROKEN AXLE AND WILL SAVE IT FOR ANOTHER MONTH.
I BOUGHT A USED 2004 ACURA TL THAT HAS RUN FINE FOR 6 MONTHS SO FAR. JUST LAST NIGHT, WHEN STATIONARY AND TRYING TO MOVE FORWARD MY TRANSMISSION STARTED SLIPPING, STALLING OUT AND RAMPING UP TO 5000 RPM. AFTER A GREEN LIGHT WITH CARS BEHIND ME AND I CAN'T MOVE AN INCH. I TAKE MY CAR TO A TRANSMISSIONS SPECIALIST TO LEARN THAT THERE IS COOLANT MIXING WITH MY TRANSMISSION FLUID. THERE WAS A NHTSA RECALL ON THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS FOR ACURA TL'S IN 2004. RECALL NUMBER 04V176000 . THE TRANSMISSIONS SPECIALIST SAID THAT IN 23 YEARS WORKING HE COULDN'T REMEMBER THE LAST TIME HE SAW THIS PROBLEM IN A HONDA, HE THOUGHT THEY CALLED BACK THOSE COOLERS. ANYWAY, CALLING MY LOCAL ACURA DEALER, THEY JUST LOOKED UP MY VIN AND TOLD ME THERE IS NO RECALL ASSIGNED TO MY CAR, AND THEREFORE THEY CAN'T DO THE RECALL WORK. YET I HAVE THE EXACT PROBLEM DESCRIBED IN THE RECALL! I READ THAT MANUFACTURERS ARE ONLY REQUIRED TO DO RECALL WORK FOR 10 YEARS BUT THEY MIGHT DO OLDER WORK (14 YRS) IN THIS CASE SINCE THERE ARE SO MANY OLD CARS STILL ON THE ROAD, OR IF IT POSES A RISK TO THE ROAD (WHICH IN THIS CASE IT CERTAINLY DOES). I'M LOOKING AT A $2600 FIX THAT I FEEL SHOULD BE ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER AND I'M BEING BLOWN OFF. 'ON SOME VEHICLES, CERTAIN OPERATING CONDITIONS CAN RESULT IN HEAT BUILD-UP BETWEEN THE COUNTERSHAFT AND SECONDARY SHAFT SECOND GEARS IN THE AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION, EVENTUALLY LEADING TO GEAR TOOTH CHIPPING OR GEAR BREAKAGE.'
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 ACURA TL. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL SEIZED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT DID NOT CALL THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE CONTACT WAS ADVISED TO CALL THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 194,604.
MY 2004 ACURA TL IS EXPERIENCING TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I WAS DRIVING DOWN A CITY STREET WHEN MY CAR SUDDENLY BEGAN SLIPPING GEARS. THE ENGINE WOULD REV WHEN I PRESSED THE GAS, HOWEVER, THE CAR WAS ACTING LIKE IT WAS IN NEUTRAL. I WAS DRIVING IN TRAFFIC SO THIS COULD HAVE POTENTIALLY CAUSED A CRASH. I AM THANKFUL THAT THIS DID NOT HAPPEN WHILE I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY JUST MOMENTS BEFORE THE PROBLEM STARTED HAPPENING. I WAS ABLE TO STEER THE CAR TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND PUT IT INTO PARK. THE CAR WOULD NOT PROPERLY SHIFT INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE. I HAD TO GET MY CAR TOWED TO A MECHANIC. HE STATED THAT SOMETHING IN THE TRANSMISSION WAS OVERHEATING AND THAT SOME SERIOUS DAMAGE COULD HAVE OCCURRED. THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS THAT I AM EXPERIENCING ARE IDENTICAL TO THE PROBLEMS OUTLINED IN RECALL #04V176000.
AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON AND AIR BAG IS DEACTIVATED DUE TO DEFECTIVE SWITCH IN SEAT BELT BUCKLE. MANUFACTURER HAS LIFETIME SEAT BELT WARRANTY BUT WILL NOT HONOR THE WARRANTY BECAUSE THEY CLAIM THAT THE SWITCH IS PART OF THE AIR BAG SYSTEM AND NOT PART OF THE SEAT BELT. SO MY WIFE AND DAUGHTER HAS TO DRIVE A CAR WITH NO AIR BAGS BECAUSE HONDA/ACURA WILL NOT HONOR THEIR WARRANTY. SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS, AS IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM.
BOUGHT USED ON 1/1 /2018,DROVE FINE FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES AND THEN IT FELT LIKE CAR WENT INTO NEUTRAL AND CAR WOULDN'T MOVE. WE WERE ABOUT AN HOUR FROM MY HOUSE FROM WHERE WE BOUGHT CAR. WE THEN HAD TO PULL OVER ,SHUT THE CAR OFF , WAIT 5 MINUTES AND START CAR FOR IT NOT EVEN GO A MILE AND WE WOULD HAVE TO REPEAT. WE WERE TRAVELING ON BUSY PARKWAY AND THIS BECAME A TRAFFIC HAZARD DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF TRAFFIC.THE CAR WILL SHIFT INTO ANY GEAR AND HAS 130,000 MILES ON IT.
CRACKS ON THE DASHBOARD APPEAR RAPIDLY, STARTING BY THE PASSENGER AIRBAG LOCATION. FIRST CRACK A WEEK AGO AND NOW A ANOTHER ONE......AFRAID THAT AIRBAG COULD DEPLOY OR NOT DEPLOY AND ACCORDING TO MANY ACURA TL 2004 OWNERS THIS IS A VERY COMMON AND UPSETTING MATTER.

ACURA NORTH SCOTTSDALE IN SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL; THEREFORE, THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE FOUR YEAR WARRANTY WAS OUT OF DATE AND THAT THE REPAIR WOULD NOT BE COVERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,500.
