FOLLOW-UP INFO TO ODI NUMBER: 756137 - I HAVE LEARNED THAT THE PART REQUIRED TO FIX THIS DEFECT IS ON NATIONWIDE BACKORDER - THIS SUGGEST THE PROBLEM IS WIDESPREAD - THE CAR WILL NOT BE RELEASED TO THE OWNER UNTIL THE REPAIR IS MADE SUGGESTING THAT THE MFR UNDERSTANDS THE SEVERITY OF THIS ISSUE - THIS IS A BASIC SAFETY COMPONENT OF THE VEHICLE AND VEHCILES ARE APPARENTLY SHIPPING WITH THE AIRBAG INOPERATIVE!!! NO SAFETY DEFECT. *AK
SINCE PURCHASED, AIR BAG LIGHT HAS INTERMITTENLY FLASHED INDICATING AN AIR BAG RELATED PROBLEM - DEALER INDICATES AIR BAG CONTROLLER MUST BE REPLACED AND THAT AIR BAG HAS BEEN NON-FIUNCTIONAL ALL THIS TIME (SINCE PURCHASE) - AIRBAG CONTROLLER PART IS NOT STOCKED AT DEALER AND REQUIRES 7 DAYS TO OBTAIN - THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ITEM AS THEN PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE WHEN CAR IS RETURNED FOR SERVICE - AS IT IS, CAR CANNOT BE DRIVEN (NO AIRBAG) SO MUST BE LEFT AT DEALER - SERVICE TECH MENTIONED THAT THEY HAVE SEEN THIS PROBLEM ON OTHER AUDI'S SUGGESTING THIS COULD BE WIDESPREAD AND VERY DANGEROUS AS OCCUPANT HAS NO IDEA AIRBAG IS NOT FUNCTIONAL. *AK
CONSUMER IS UPSET BECAUSE HE HAD TO HAVE A BRAND NEW TRANSMISSION REPLACED. AFTER TAKING TRANSMISSION TO MECHANIC, HE WAS TOLD THAT HE NEEDED TRANSMISSION REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. ALSO, IT WAS HESITATING AT SLOW SPEEDS, CLUMPING WHEN IT WAS GOING IN AND OUT OF 1ST TO 2ND GEAR. IN ADDITION, VEHICLE WAS REVVING AT 6000 RPMS BEFORE SHIFTING INTO GEAR.*AK
TRANSMISSION/AUTOMATIC - NO RESPONSE FROM GAS PEDAL WHEN ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM ROLLING STOP. CAR THEN HIGH-REVS AND FINALLY JERKS FORWARD, AFTER AN APPROXIMATE 1-2 SECOND DELAY.*AK
3 BLOWOUTS HITTING SAME POTHOLE BY THREE DIFFERNET DRIVERS. *AK
CONSUMER CALLED COMPLAINING ABOUT TWO STICKER ON THE VEHICLE THAT SPECIFY TIRE PRESSURE ONE THAT RECOMENDS 30PSI AND THE OTHER THAT RECOMENDS 40PSI ALSO STATES THAT WHEN HE HAD THE TIRE PREASURE AT 30 PSI HE TWO TIRES THAT FELL AND ENDED WITH BLISTERS. GOODYEAR ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT.
WHEN ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE VEHICLE GRADUALLY,CONSUMER NOTED A GRINDING NOISE LIKE METAL COMING FROM THE FRONT END OF VEHICLE. CONSUMER CONTACTED THE DEALER, DEALER SAID PROBLEM WAS NORMAL.*AK
THE VEHICLE WAS RIDING ROUGH. THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED AND THE TECHNICIAN NOTICED THAT THREE OF THE RIMS WERE BENT.*AK
DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER DRIVER MUST PUMP THE BRAKE PEDAL TO STOP THE VEHICLE. ALSO, THE BRAKES GRAB IN THE REAR. DEALER REPLACED THE BRAKES FOUR TIMES, BUT PROBLEM STILL EXISTS. *AK
OWNER IS VERY UNHAPPY WITH THE ARRANGEMENTS THAT AUDI IS MAKING IN REFERENCE TO A RECALL INVOLVING TIRES WHICH ARE THE WRONG SIZE. DEALERSHIP IS ASKING OWNERS TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FIRST, COME IN AND LET THE DEALERSHIP VIEW THE TIRES, THEN ASK THEM TO LEAVE THE CAR FOR SEVERAL HOURS WHILE THEY ORDER THE TIRES TO REPLACE THOSE THAT WARRANT AN EXCHANGE. THERE IS NO COST TO THE CONSUMER. HOWEVER, TIME WISE IT IS AN INCONVENIENCE. *AK THE TIRES WERE BEING REPLACED. *SCC *JB
