I AM REACHING OUT TO YOU AFTER OUR ATTEMPTS TO REACH A SATISFACTORY RESOLUTION TO OUR 2000 AUDI TT CONCERNS HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. I WILL SUMMARIZE OUR NEEDS/CONCERNS FOR YOU. WE PURCHASED OUR NEW 2000 AUDI TT IN 2000. WE HAVE HAD ALL REGULAR SERVICE AND REPAIRS DONE AT AN AUDI AUTHORIZED DEALER IN NORTH SCOTTSDALE, AZ AND BETWEEN 2005-2009, WHILE LIVING/WORKING FOR A SHORT-TERM IN SAN JOSE, CA. WE PUT MINIMAL MILES ON THIS VEHICLE AS A SECOND AUTOMOBILE. OUR CURRENT MILEAGE IS 82,000 MILES. IN 2005, AT 53,813 MILES, WE HAD REGULAR SERVICE PERFORMED AT STEVENS CREEK AUDI, IN SAN JOSE, CA. DURING THAT VISIT, WE STATED CONCERN OVER THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PANEL'S WARNING OF A PROBLEM WITH OUR HEADLIGHTS, LOW BEAMS OR PARKING LIGHTS. THE TECHNICIAN REPLACED THE RUNNING LIGHT BULBS BUT THE PROBLEM WITH THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PANEL CONTINUED AND HAS BECOME INCREASINGLY WORSE WITH MORE FAILURES TO THIS DATE, SUCH AS THE GAS GAUGE DOES NOT OPERATE, THE DIGITAL READOUT IS DIFFICULT TO READ, ETC. WHEN WE INVESTIGATED THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CONCERN WITH OUR TECHNICIAN RECENTLY IN SCOTTSDALE, WE LEARNED, BY LOOKING ONLINE, OF THE CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT AND AUDI'S FREE REPAIR OFFER (SEE INFORMATION BELOW). WE HAD NO KNOWLEDGE OF THIS IN 2008 ' OTHERWISE, WE WOULD HAVE HAD THE REPAIR DONE IN THE TIMEFRAME GIVEN. WE HAVE ASKED OUR DEALER TO EXTEND THIS FREE REPAIR TO US IN LIGHT OF THE ABOVE, ESPECIALLY SINCE WE WERE EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS WITH THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PANEL BEFORE AND DURING THIS TIME PERIOD NOTED ABOVE. THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IN MY AUDI TT IS FAULTY. IT DOES NOT PROVIDE ACCURATE FUEL GAUGE, ENGINE SPEED, VEHICLE SPEED, AND ENGINE TEMPERATURE READINGS. IT DOES NOT PROVIDE ANY RELIABLE, ACCURATE INFORMATION IN REGARDS TO THE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE. *TR
2000 AUDI TT WITH INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PROBLEMS. CONSUMER STATES THAT AUDI IS ONLY GOING TO EXTEND THE WARRANTY FOR TWO YEARS ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER. HE STATES THAT THIS EXCLUDES THE TIME THAT MOST VEHICLES WILL EXPERIENCE THIS PROBLEM. *KB

DASHPOD FAILURE ON 2000 MODEL AUDI TT. FUEL GAUGE HAS STOPPED WORKING. THIS IS SECOND FAILURE OF A DASHPOD ON THIS VEHICLE - THE FIRST WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. ALL EUROPEAN AUDI/VOLKSWAGEN DEALERS REPLACE DASHPODS FREE OF CHARGE AS IT IS A KNOWN DESIGN FAULT. AUDI USA WILL NOT REPLACE DEFECTIVE DASHPODS. *TR
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER IS BROKEN. SPEEDOMETER WILL NOT WORK. SOMETIMES TACHOMETER WILL NOT WORK. I WAS TOLD THIS IS A RECURRING PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS. HAS BEEN BROKEN OFF AND ON FOR THREE YEARS, BUT RECENTLY HAS GOTTEN WORSE. *TR
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GAUGES DO NOT WORK PROPERLY. FUEL IS COMPLETELY OFF. CENTER DISPLAY IS NEARLY UNREADABLE. VWAG WILL NOT COVER UNDER WARRANTY, EVEN THOUGH THE UK CLUSTER WARRANTY WAS EXTENDED. *TR
THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS DEFECTIVE. THERE WAS NO ILLUMINATION. THE DRIVER WAS NOT ABLE TO TELL HOW FAST SHE GOING, OR HOW MUCH FUEL WAS AVAILABLE. THE CONSUMER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS WAITING FOR A RESPONSE FROM THEM. PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 AUDI TT QUATTRO. WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WOULD NOT DISPLAY PROPERLY. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY IN 2004. IN OCTOBER OF 2006, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL FAILED AGAIN. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE INSTRUMENT PANEL HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 140,000 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILED WITH NO PRIOR EVENTS LEADING TO ITS FAILURE. MANY ASPECTS OF THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAIL TO WORK PROPERLY, SUCH AS THE FUEL GAUGE, TACHOMETER, SPEEDOMETER, AND LCD SCREEN. *TR
2000 AUDI TT INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PROBLEMS. CONSUMER STATES THE FAILURE IS THE GAUGE CLUSTER CIRCUIT BOARD. CONSUMER STATED THAT HE COULD NOT AFFORD TO GET THE PROBLEM FIXED WHEN IT FIRST BEGAN AND NOW IT IS WORSE AND MORE MONEY. *KB THE FUEL AND TEMPERATURE GAUGES NO LONGER FUNCTIONED AND THE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY HAS FAILED TO INDICATE READABLE INFORMATION. THERE WAS NO WAY TO KNOW THE LEVEL OF FUEL IN THE VEHICLE, THE ENGINE OPERATING TEMPERATURE, BRAKE SAFETY INFORMATION OR ENGINE CHECK NOTIFICATION. ADDITIONALLY, THE SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER FUNCTIONED SPORADICALLY. *JB
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT ANY SPEED DASHBOARD WILL GO OUT WITHOUT ANY POWER ON IT.ALSO, RADIO WILL NOT WORK/ SOMETIMES HOOD WILL NOT OPEN, AND VEHICLE WILL LOSE POWER.*AK
2000 AUDI TT WITH INSTRUMENT CLUSTER PROBLEMS. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER THEN BEGAN GETTING WORSE WHICH HAS NOW STARTED AFFECTING THE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED HE BEGAN EXPERIENCING PROBLEMS 3 YEARS AGO AND THE PART WAS REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. HOWEVER, THE PROBLEM HAS RESURFACED. THE FUEL AND TEMPERATURE GAUGES NO LONGER FUNCTIONED AND THE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY HAS FAILED AND DOES NOT INDICATE READABLE INFORMATION. CONSUMER STATES THAT THE PROBLEM WITH THE INSTRUMENT PANEL HAS PROGRESSED CAUSING PROBLEMS WITH THE OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE. *KB THE CONSUMER STATED THE FUEL AND TEMPERATURE GAUGES NO LONGER FUNCTIONED AND THE LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY DID NOT INDICATE READABLE INFORMATION. CONSUMER STATES THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILED. *TGW THE CONSUMER STATED WHEN THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FAILED WHILE DRIVING WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED, THE VEHICLE UNEXPECTEDLY ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN, OR IT WOULD JUST STOP COMPLETELY. THE GAS GAUGE WAS UNRELIABLE AND THE ODOMETER DID NOT REGISTER. *JB

THE CLUSTER LIGHTING FLICKERS AND THE SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER GAUGE LIGHTING IS NOT VISIBLE AT NIGHT. THE CONSUMER HAS NO WAY OF KNOWING THE LEVEL OF FUEL IN THE VEHICLE. THE SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER FUNCTION SPORADICALLY. *JB
