I AM NOT SUBMITTING THIS SO MUCH AS FOR MYSELF, BUT FOR OWNERS OF FRONT WHEEL DRIVE AUDI TTS AND VWS WHICH USE THIS TRANSMISSION. I HAVE APPROX. 70 CASES OF MOSTLY IDENTICAL FAILURES FROM AUDI TT OWNERS ON AN INTERNET OWNERS' FORUM(AUDI-TT.ORG). ADDITIONALLY, ANOTHER FORUM (VWVORTEX.COM) RECENTLY DID A SURVEY, AND A SIMILAR NUMBER OF OWNERS REPORTED THE PROBLEM AS WELL. THE VWS IN QUESTION USE THE SAME FRONT WHEEL DRIVE TRANNY THAT IS USED IN THE AUDI TT. SPECIFICALLY, THE PROBLEM IS A PERIODIC GRINDING OF THE 2ND GEAR SYNCHRONIZERS.
