Window rolled down, but never went back up. Happened on multiple windows of my vehicle. Has been a common problem among these cars, caused me to fail inspection.
THE VAPOR BARRIER IN THE DOOR LEAKS DURING RAIN. THE FLOOR OF THE CAR GETS VERY WET.
I WAS DRIVING IN THE CENTER LANE AND A CEMENT TRUCK WAS DRIVING IN THE RIGHT LANE ABOUT ONE CAR LENGTHS AHEAD OF ME WHEN SOME FELL OFF OF HIS TRUCK AND HIT MY HOOD, PUTTING A HOLE THROUGH IT. IT THEN HIT THE PASSENGER SIDE PANEL, MIRROR AND METAL PIECE BETWEEN THE WINDSHIELD AND THE PASSENGER WINDOW. I TRIED FOR A MINIMUM OF 5 MILES TO GET THE DRIVER TO PULL OVER TO NO AVAIL. I THINK HE MAY HAVE BEEN DRINKING BECAUSE WHEN HE CHANGED LANES HE WOULD USE THE WRONG TURN SIGNAL. LEFT LANE CHANGE HE USED THE RIGHT SIGNAL AND VICE VERSA. WE COULD NOT FIND THE PIECE THAT HIT MY CAR BUT IT WAS GREASY, BECAUSE I HAD GREASE AT EVERY DAMAGED AREA.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 BMW 325I. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WAS WET AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS EXPOSED TO RAINY CONDITIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE VAPOR BARRIER FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 36,000.
BMW E46 SERIES CARS, (1999-2006), HAVE A WEAK POINT ON THE REAR SUBFRAME MOUNTING POINTS. OVER TIME, THESE POINTS TEAR AND CAUSE THE SUBFRAME TO CRACK AND BEGIN TO TEAR THE BODY AND FRAME OF THE CAR. MY 2004 BMW M3 IS EXPERIENCING THIS EXACT PROBLEM AT THE MOMENT. THERE IS NUMEROUS CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS OPEN ON THIS ISSUE AS WELL. *TR
SAND COLOR STRIP THAT MEETS THE DASHBOARD IS IN CONSUMER'S LINE OF VISION.*MR THE CONSUMER LIVES IN AN AREA WHERE THE TEMPERATURE IS HOT THEREFORE DECIDED TO PURCHASE HER VEHICLE WITH SAND LEATHER INTERIOR BECAUSE IT WOULD BE COOLER. THE CONSUMER LIKES THE INTERIOR BUT UNFORTUNATELY THE DASHBOARD IS BLACK WITH A SAND COLORED STRIP THAT MEETS WITH THE BLACK DASH. THE TWO COLORS CAUSE A REFLECTION ON THE WINDSHIELD WHICH RESULTS IN POOR VISIBILITY. DURING BRIGHT SUNNY DAYS IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE OUT THE WINDSHIELD. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO SUGGESTED THAT THEY REPLACE THE DASHBOARD AND THE STRIP TO ALL BLACK OR ALL SAND. *NM
ON SEVERAL OCCASSIONS, AFTER DRIVING THE VEHICLE TO THE DESTINATION, AND AFTER PRESSING THE UNLOCK BUTTON ON THE CENTRAL CONSOLE, YOU COULD AUDIBLY HEAR THE LOCKS "UNLOCK", VISIBLY SEE THE BUTTONS ON THE DOOR POP UP, HOWEVER, THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR WOULD NOT RELEASE. I WOULD BE STUCK INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THIS PROBLEM ALWAYS SEEMED TO FOLLOW WASHING THE VEHICLE. IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE LATCH AND CABLE ASSEMBLY FAILED AND REQUIRED TO BE REPLACED.*AK
IN ATTEMPTING TO OPEN THE TRUNK WITH THE REMOTE OR FROM INSIDE THE VEHILCE, THE TRUNK WILL SOMETIMES NOT RELEASE. OTHER TIMES THE TRUNK WILL NOT CATCH WHEN ATTEMPTING TO CLOSE. IN ORDER TO GET THE LID TO CATCH, IT WOULD REQUIRE PRESSING THE TRUNK RELEASE BUTTON ON THE KEY MULTIPLE TIMES. AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS BACK TO DEALER 5 TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM AND THE GENERAL MODULE WAS REPLACED, IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE UNLOCK SIGNAL FROM THE GENERAL MODULE WAS TOO SHORT. THE REPAIR WILL REQUIRE REPROGRAMMING THE GENERAL MODULE WITH UPDATED SOFTWARE. HOWEVER, NO FIX IS AVAILABLE RIGHT NOW AND NO SCHEDULE IS AVAILABLE FROM BMW. IN ADDITION, BOTH THE DEALER AND BMW CUSTOMER SERVICE ADMITTED THERE ARE REPORTS OF THIS PROBLEM FROM OTHER 3-SERIES OWNERS.
