THE CAR FAILS TO UNLOCK WHEN USING THE CENTRAL BUTTON IN THE CAR OR THE HAND HELD DEVICE. ONLY THE DRIVER DOOR CAN BE OPENED MECHANICALLY AND THE LOCKS ARE NOT ACCESSIBLE TO PULL UP ON THE OTHER 3 DOORS. MY CHILDREN HAD TO CLIMB OUT THE DRIVERS DOOR OR WINDOWS. RESEARCH ON THE WEB IS INDICATING A BAD FUSE CAN CAUSE THIS OR ACTUATORS IN THE DOORS. SEEMS LIKE A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD IF EVERYONE CAN'T EXIT THE CAR IN AN EMERGENCY BECAUSE OF A BLOWN FUSE? *TR
WIRING INSIDE OF THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLY IS FAILING DUE TO INSULATION THAT IS DISINTEGRATING. THIS IS RESULTING IN ELECTRICAL SHORT CIRCUITS THAT PREVENT THE HEADLIGHT BULBS FROM WORKING PROPERLY. *TR
PASSENGER AIRBAG LIGHT WENT ON AND AFTER MY RESEARCH FOUND OUT THERE IS A RECALL. BMW REFUSES TO FIX THE ISSUE AS THEY CLAIM THAT THE VIN IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 330XI. WHILE DRIVING 10 MPH, THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. IN ADDITION, THE PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM, FAULT IN PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM, AFFECTING AIR BAG BELT TENSIONER OR BELT FORCE LIMITER WAS DISPLAYED ACROSS THE MESSAGE BOARD. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER AND UNKNOWN REPAIRS WERE PERFORMED. THE VEHICLE WAS THEN TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR ADDITIONAL UNKNOWN REPAIRS. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 95,000.
TAKATA RECALL. MY PASSENGER FRONT AIR BAG LIGHT IS ON AND NO ONE IS SITTING IN THE SEAT. MY CAR IS IN GOOD CONDITION.
PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS ARE DEACTIVATED. I AM RECEIVING THROUGH THE IDRIVE COMPUTER THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE "SYSTEM RESTRAINT MALFUNCTION", ALSO THE PASSENGER AIR BAG LIGHT IS ALWAYS ON THE INSTRUMENTS CLUSTER. I FOUND OUT THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL COMPLAINTS, AND AN EXISTING RECALL ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE BUT I WAS TOLD AT MY BMW DEALER THAT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED. I AM HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUE THAT OTHERS HAVE COMPLAINED ABOUT AND IT IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE THAT BMW SHOULD ADDRESS ACCORDINGLY. ONCE AGAIN, EVEN THOUGH MY VEHICLE MAKE, MODEL AND YEAR FOLLOW THE CRITERIA OF THE EXISTING RECALL, MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED. *TR

AIR BAG LIGHT STAYS ON, MODEL AND YEAR ID FOR RECALL, BUT NOT ID UNDER VIN NUMBER. *TR
I WAS DRIVING MY 2006 BMW 330I WITH MY WIFE IN FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND THE PASSENGER AIR BAG IS OFF LIGHT CAME ON. THE CAR WAS ON A STRAIGHT ROAD AND THE SPEED WAS AT 45 MPH. CALLED BMW BUT THEY TOLD ME MY VEHICLE WAS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. AND WAS TOLD TO TAKE MY BMW TO THE DEALERSHIP AT MY EXPENSE. SAFETY RECALLS SHOULD BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MANUFACTURER. AS I PUT THE VEHICLE IN PARK AND TRIED TO EXIT THE VEHICLE THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN. I PULLED THE HANDLE AND TRIED THE KEY FOB AND NOTHING WOULD MAKE IT UNLOCK. I HAD TO CRAWL TO THE PASSENGER SIDE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME THIS HAS HAPPENED AND IT IS A KNOWN FUSE PROBLEM THAT IS FAULTY AND VERY DANGEROUS IF YOU HAPPEN TO BE IN AN ACCIDENT AND NEED TO ESCAPE YOUR VEHICLE QUICKLY. HAVING A DRIVER DOOR THAT ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT OPEN IS A COMPLETE DISREGARD FOR COMMON SENSE AND PUBLIC SAFETY. *TR
TOOK MY BMW TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE MY BATTERY HAD TO BE REPLACED (DUE TO SERVICE LIGHT ON INSTRUMENT PANEL) AND WAS TOLD AFTER I PICKED UP MY VEHICLE IT ALSO HAD TWO OTHER SERVICE PROBLEMS: 1. OIL FILTER HOUSING NEEDED TO BE RESEALED A $400.00 JOB AND 2. ALTERNATOR TENSIONER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED A $650.00 JOB. I DID NOT DO THE REPAIR. CAME HOME, GOT ON INTERNET AND DID RESEARCH. THERE ARE MANY CUSTOMERS WHO ARE COMPLAINING ABOUT THESE REPAIRS, AND THEY ALSO STATED THAT THEY WERE TOLD OF THESE SAME TWO ITEMS TO BE SERVICED AFTER HAVING A NEW BATTERY INSTALLED IN THEIR BMW'S. SUPPOSEDLY, BMW IS AWARE OF THIS PROBLEM BUT DON'T FEEL THE NEED TO RECALL. I FEEL THAT THIS SHOULD BE INVESTIGATED BECAUSE IT DOESN'T MAKE SINCE THAT ALL CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE TO REPLACE THEIR BATTERY IS BEING TOLD TO SERVICE THE SAME ITEMS. *TR

COOLANT LEAKING FROM RESERVOIR TANK. A COMMON ISSUE AMONG BMWS- AND IS CURRENTLY EFFECTING MY 330XI 2006. THE EXPANSION TANK IS FAULTY AND WONDERING IF THE TANK AND HOSES ARE TESTED TO EVEN WITHSTAND THE "BMW BRAND" NAME COOLANT. *TR
AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE DASHBOARD. MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED BUT NOTED THAT THE VIN DOESNT FALL WITHIN THE RANGE OF THE RECALL. MANUFACTURER DIDNT AUTHORIZE THE REPAIR ($700 ESTIMATE). RECALL 13V-564 IS SPECIFICALLY FOR BMW/325I/2006/SPORT SEAT/AIRBAG MY EXACT CAR AND EXACTLY THE ISSUE IM EXPERIENCING. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF BMW/325I/2006/AIRBAG COMPLAINTS. BMW CUSTOMER RELATIONS REFUSE TO HELP
A BOLT BROKE ON THE VALVE COVER. IT'S NOT FROM COLD WEATHER OR LACK OF MAINTENANCE, IT'S CLEARLY A MANUFACTURER DEFAULT. WHEN ADVISED BY VALLEY BMW IN MODESTO I LEARNED THIS HAPPENS IN MOST OF THESE MODELS THAT YEAR. IT'S FROM OVER TORQUING THE BOLT OR A FAULTY BOLT OR SOMETHING ELSE BUT IT'S CLEARLY NOT THE FAULT OF THE CONSUMER. MINE BROKE ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AND IT CAUSES THE OIL TO LEAK ON THE EXHAUST. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND MUST BE ADDRESSED IMMEDIATELY. THIS ALSO HAPPENS ON THE OIL PAN! VEHICLE HAS 148,000 MILES. THE AIR BAG AND SEATBELT LIGHT HAVE BEEN COMING ON FOR OVER A YEAR. THIS SAME EXACT PROBLEM WAS REPAIRED BY BMW FOR US IN 2010. OUR MECHANIC TOLD US ABOUT THE CURRENT RECALL ON THE AIRBAGS. OUR CAR DOES HAVE THE SPORT SEATS AND DOES FALL WITHIN THE DATES OF MANUFACTURE (JAN, 2006) . HOWEVER, AFTER SPEAKING WITH [XXX] AT BMW TODAY SHE INFORMED ME THAT OUR VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. OBVIOUSLY IT IS THE PART THAT IS BAD NOT THE AGE OF THE PART. I FEEL THAT OUR VEHICLE SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL DUE TO THE FACT THAT I AM NOT SO SURE THAT THE AIRBAGS WOULD EVEN WORK IF WE WERE TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT. *TR

I ONLY HAVE 65K MILES ON MY BMW 325I 2006 IT AND MOSTLY DRIVEN ON HIGHWAYS. A FEW DAYS BACK MY BMW WOULDN'T START WITHOUT ANY RHYME OR REASON. IT HAD A RED STEERING WHEEL WARNING LIGHT ON AND THE CAR WOULDN'T START AT ALL. THE BOOK DIDN'T HAVE ANY INSTRUCTIONS EITHER BUT TO TAKE THE CAR TO DEALERSHIPS. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WERE ALSO HELPLESS AND HAD NO IDEA. I HAD TO TOW MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP. ULTIMATELY DEALERSHIP INFORMED ME THAT THERE WAS SOME MANUFACTURING ISSUE AND THE WHOLE STEERING COLUMN NEED TO BE REPLACED. THIS SOUNDED CRAZY AS MY CAR HAS NEVER BEEN WITH ANY ACCIDENT. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY A CAR WITH ONLY 65K MILES NEEDS A WHOLE STEERING COLUMN REPLACED. IT COST ME ~$1500 TO REPLACE THE STEERING COLUMN. ON SEARCHING GOOGLE IT LOOKS LIKE A LOT OF CUSTOMERS HAVE THE SAME MANUFACTURING ISSUE WHERE THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD JAM AND CUSTOMERS NEED TO REPLACE THE WHOLE STEERING COLUMN. I EMAILED AND CALLED THE BMW SERVICE AND THEY REFUSED TO TAKE ANY ACTION AND TOLD ME TO FILE A COMPLAINT WITH NHTSA IF I WISH TO DO SO. THIS IS DEFINITELY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT WHERE THE CAR WOULD NOT EVEN START UNTIL THE WHOLE STEERING COLUMN IS REPLACED. PLEASE TELL BMW TO OWN THE MANUFACTURING ISSUE AND STOP CHEATING NAIVE CUSTOMERS. *TR

THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE BALL COVER GASKET NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,243.
I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE IN SEPTEMBER 2014 FROM BMW REGARDING A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG FOR MY CAR (RECALL CAMPAIGN NO. 14V-428: FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG). I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL BMW DEALERSHIPS SINCE SEPTEMBER 2014 TO REPLACE MY AIRBAG AND ALL SAY THAT AIRBAGS ARE UNAVAILABLE DUE TO THE MAGNITUDE OF THE RECALL. I AM WRITING THIS TO BRING ATTENTION TO THE FACT THAT REPLACEMENT OF DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS ARE NOT BEING PERFORMED SINCE AIRBAGS ARE NOT AVAILABLE. OTHER THAN A RECALL NOTICE, IS THERE ANYTHING BEING DONE BY AUTHORITIES TO ESCALATE THIS ISSUE SO THE PROBLEM CAN BE RECTIFIED? *TR

I TOOK MY CAR IN FOR A STANDARD OIL CHANGE AND FRONT DRIVER SIDE LIGHT TURNING SIGNAL NOT WORKING AND I ALSO ADVISED THE AIRBAG LIGHT WOULD COME ON WHEN I TURNED ON THE CAR FOR THE PAST FEW MONTHS. I WAS ADVISED THAT THE AIR BAG FOR THE PASSENGER SIDE HAD TO BE REPLACED WHICH WOULD COST ME MORE THAN 800 DOLLARS. I QUESTIONED IF IT WAS PART OF THE MOST RECENT RECALL BUT WAS ADVISED NO. SEEING ALL THE COMPLAINTS ON THIS SITE OF THE SAME VEHICLE AND ISSUE AND NOT BEING INCLUDED, THIS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE. PLEASE ADVISE HOW CARS ARE PICKED AS IT SEEMS THE CARS THAT WERE NOT NOTIFIED ARE THE ONES THAT ARE HAVING THE EXACT OR SIMILAR ISSUE OF WHAT THE RECALL IS FOR. I RECENTLY MOVED AS WELL SO I'M WONDERING WHAT HAPPENS IF THE LETTER IF THERE WAS ONE WAS SENT TO THE INCORRECT PLACE. *TR
WE BOUGHT A BMW WITH ADAPTIVE HEADLIGHT ERROR CODE. AFTER RESEARCHING IT, WE FOUND OUT THE FIX IS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE ($1200+) AND MOST PEOPLE REPORT IF YOU EVEN HIT A POT HOLE IN ROAD, IT WILL CAUSE IT TO MALFUNCTION AGAIN. THE LIGHTS REMAIN FIXED IN A INCORRECT POSITION THEREFORE CAUSING A SAFETY HAZARD BECAUSE THE ROAD IS IMPROPERLY LIT. *TR
RECALL WAS ISSUED ON MY BMW AIR BAGS WHICH A SERIOUS SAFETY CONCERN. I WAS NOTIFIED OF THIS IN AUGUST AND THERE ARE NO PARTS YET AVAILABLE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM AND THEN I WAS TOLD THAT THERE IS A 200 PERSON WAIT LIST WHEN THEY DO FINALLY BECOME AVAILABLE. IN THE MEANTIME I WILL NOT DRIVE MY FAMILY IN THIS CAR AS THE PASSENGER AIRBAG HAS BEEN RECALLED DUE TO SAFETY. THE TIME FRAME TO FIX THIS PROBLEM IS NOT "TIMELY." *TR

THE PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM ALERT MESSAGE APPEARED ON THE VEHICLE DISPLAY. THE MESSAGE READS "FAULT IN PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM AFFECTING THE AIRBAG, BELT TENSIONER OR BELT FORCE LIMITER. CONTINUE TO WEAR THE SAFETY BELT". I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE LOCAL BMW DEALER AND THEY STATED THIS VEHICLE PROBLEM WAS NOT COVERED BY THE BMW AIRBAG RECALL. THE DEALER GENERICALLY QUOTED THAT A REPAIR TO THE MRS CONTROL SYSTEM NEEDED REPAIRED/ REPLACED AND WOULD COST $975.00. THIS ALERT MESSAGE DOES NOT STAY ON ALL OF THE TIME, IT IS INTERMITTENT. *TR

EVEN THOUGH SAME PROBLEM, MINE NOT COVERED UNDER RECALL BECAUSE MINE WAS PRODUCED IN JUNE 2006, NOT DURING THE TIMEFRAME OF THE RECALL. DEALER GAVE ME REPORT SAYING, "REPLACE SEAT MAT (FOUND SEAT MAT FAULTY)" FOR COST OF $1056.25. MY ADVISOR AT THE DEALERSHIP SUGGESTED I CONTACT BMW CUSTOMER SERVICE AND ASK FOR A "GOODWILL" REPAIR WITH EITHER 75% OR 100% COVERED SINCE MY VEHICLE SITS JUST OUTSIDE THE RECALL DATES. DENIED!! THE AIR BAG LIGHT / OCCUPANT DETECT SENSOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS DEFECTIVE. I PAID OVER $1000 TO REPAIR. MY MECHANIC TOLD ME THERE IS A SAFETY RECALL OF THE AIR BAG FRONTAL SENSOR CONTROL MODULE FOR MY VEHICLE YEAR, MAKE AND MODEL. I NEVER RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE AND BMW CLAIMS THE RECALL IS VIN SPECIFIC. THIS SEEMS UNSAFE AND UNFAIR AS THIS IS THE VERY PROBLEM THAT I REPAIRED. I HAVE TRAVELED THOUSANDS OF MILES TRANSPORTING MY FAMILY IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT WITHOUT KNOWING THAT THEY WERE NOT PROTECTED BY THE AIR BAGS. *TR
ON 7/12/14 THE AIRBAG CAME ON FOR THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT AND TURN OFF THE AIRBAG SAFETY FOR THIS SEAT AND REALLY BELIEVED IT'S A PROBLEM WITHE MAT AIRBAG SENSOR IN THAT SEAT BUT I DIDN'T RECEIVE ANY RECALL LETTERS FROM YOU MY CAR STILL WITH THIS PROBLEM THAT PUT MY FAMILY ON RISK IF I HAVE AN ACCIDENT.

WHEN A PASSENGER SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, PERIODICALLY RECEIVE MESSAGE FROM BMW325I ALERT SYSTEM STATING THAT THE AIRBAG/SEAT BELT SYSTEM FOR PASSENGER SEAT IS FAULTY IN ITS OPERATION AND NEEDS TO BE CHECKED IMMEDIATELY. INFORMED BY DEALERSHIP THAT AIRBAG SENSOR MAT IS FAULTY AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. FEEL THIS VEHICLE SHOULD BE ADDED TO BMW'S RECENT RECALL LIST AND REPAIR SHOULD NOT BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OWNER TO REPAIR AT OWNER'S EXPENSE. *TR
