TAKATA RECALL- MY AIRBAG IN THE STEERING WHEEL HAS BEEN REPLACED. THE PASSENGER SEAT MAT SENSOR HAS HAD TO BE REPLACED 2X(1X UNDER WARRANTY) 1X I HAD TO PAY OUT OF POCKET AND NOW A 3RD TIME (OUT OF POCKET) IT HAS BROKEN AGAIN. I BELIEVE THIS IS A FAULTY PART AND SHOULD BE COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY EACH TIME THIS HAS BROKEN.
THE VEHICLE WON'T START, AND STEERING WHEEL IS LOCKED. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE GARAGE, I WAS ABLE TO START THE CAR INITIALLY, BUT 20 MINUTES LATER, THE CAR WOULD NOT START AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED. I TESTED THE ALTERNATOR AND THE BATTERY, BUT STILL NOT ABLE TO START OR TURN THE STEERING WHEEL. UPON RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM, IT SEEMS TO BE THE AN ISSUE WITH THE ELV LOCKING SYSTEM.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 330XI. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAGS AND SEAT BELT WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER (SUN MOTOR CARS BMW, 6691 CARLISLE PIKE, MECHANICSBURG, PA 17050; (717) 697-2300) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT PART OF A RECALL AND THE CONTACT HAD TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 330XI. THE CONTACT NOTICED SMOKE UNDER THE HOOD, WHICH ENTERED THE VEHICLE THROUGH THE AIR VENTS. THE CONTACT ALSO HEARD AN ABNORMAL NOISE COMING FROM THE MOTOR MONTHS BEFORE THE MANUFACTURER SENT NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 17V676000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM). IN ADDITION, THE SERVICE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED FOR AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME. THE DEALER (NEWBOLD BMW, 1283 CENTRAL PARK DR, O'FALLON, IL 62269, (618) 628-7300) REPLACED THE WIRING AND DIAGNOSED THAT THE BEARINGS NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE. *TT *TR - (RECALL RELATED INCIDENT) TS
METAL FRAGMENTS FROM AIRBAG
WHILE DRIVING CAR WILL INTERMITTENTLY AND BRIEFLY EXPERIENCE FULL ELECTRONIC OUTAGE CAUSING THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER, VEHICLE LIGHTS, AND ELECTRONIC STEERING COLUMN LOCK TO ENGAGE. AS SOON AS THE ELECTRONIC POWER RETURNS SERVICE LIGHTS DISPLAY ON THE DASHBOARD UNTIL I STOP, FULLY POWER OFF THE VEHICLE WITH THE IGNITION BUTTON AND RESTART THE CAR. THIS HAS ALL HAPPENED AT DRIVING SPEEDS RANGING BETWEEN 15 AND 70 MPH, FORTUNATELY WHILE DRIVING STRAIGHT. IF I OR ANYONE ELSE WOULD HAPPEN TO BE IN A TURN AND THE ELECTRONIC STEERING WHEEL LOCK ENGAGE THE RESULTS COULD POTENTIALLY BE LIFE THREATENING. THIS VEHICLE IS A PRIOR DEALER LEASE THEN SOLD TO A RENTAL COMPANY THEN PURCHASED BY ME. THE VEHICLE REMAINS UNMODIFIED AND HAS BEEB MAINTAINED AND SERVICED WITH ALL OEM OR EQUIVALENT PARTS.
WHILE DOING A VALVE COVER REPLACEMENT FOR BROKEN ALUMINIUM BOLTS, WHICH CAUSED A LEAK, DISCOVERED THAT THE THREE ALUMINIUM HEAD BOLTS ARE ALSO BROKEN. THE FOURTH OF THESE WAS FOUND TO BE BROKEN AND REPLACED. THIS KNOWN PROBLEM ON THIS MOTOR, THE N52 SIX CYLINDER 3.0 LITER MOTOR, CAUSED BY INADEQUATE BOLTS INSTALLED AT THE FACTORY. BMW UPDATED THE BOLTS AND TORQUE SPECS FOR THE MOTOR, BUT HAS NEVER FORMALLY (AT LEAST PUBLICLY) RECOGNIZED THE ISSUE. LOOKING ON MESSAGE BOARDS THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM OCCURRING WITH THESE CARS THAT IS CAUSED BY A MANUFACTURING DEFECT RATHER THAN SIMPLY TIME AND AGE. THERE ARE MANY REPORTS OF THESE BOLTS BEING FOUND BROKEN AT 35 - 50K MILES.
GETTING A HARD WARNING FOR "PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM MALFUNCTION". APPARENTLY THIS HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH A SENSOR IN THE PASSENGER SEAT GOING BAD. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY OR FATALITY AS THE PASSENGER AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY CORRECTLY. THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL FOR THIS BUT MY VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED.
THE ID LIGHT CAME ON FOR PASSENGER AIR. IT SAID THAT PASSENGER AIR BAG WAS OFF. WE TOOK TO BMW OF ROANOKE TO REPAIR AND STATE INSPECT THE VEHICLE. THEY HAD TO REPLACE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG MAT AT A COST OF $ 1,433.87 ON INVOICE NO. BMCS56560. MY CONCERN IS THAT IF WE WERE INVOLVED IN ACCIDENT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WOULD HAVE NOT WORKED AND MY WIFE COULD HAVE BEEN HURT OR KILLED. I HAVE THE OLD PART AND COULD SEND IT TO YOU. THE BMW ONLY HAS 105,747 MILES AND WAS DELIVERED PER BMW OF ROANOKE 12/24/2009. IT IS NOT NO RECALL BUT MAYBE IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN
PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM. FAULT IN PASSENGER-RESTRAINT SYSTEM AFFECTING AIRBAG, BELT TENSIONER OR BELT-FORCE LIMITER. THE AIRBAG STAYS OFF EVEN AFTER HAVING A PASSENGER ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. I ALSO GET A SEATBELT SIGN EVEN IF THE SEATBELT IS WORN BY THE PASSENGER. WENT TO DEALER ASKING FOR $200 TO CHECK PROBLEM AND $500 TO REPAIR.
THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR IN MY 2006 BMW IS DEFECTIVE WHETHER THE CAR IS IN MOTION OR STATIONARY BUT ONLY WHEN THE CAR IS ON. MAKING THE PASSENGER AIRBAGS TURNED OFF DURING THE EVENT OF A CRASH, MANY OTHER 2006 BMWS LIKE MINE ARE AFFECTED WITH THIS ISSUE. A RECALL HAS BEEN DONE FOR BMWS FOR MODELS 2007 AND NEWER BUT NOT FOR THE 2006 MODEL YEAR. A RECALL NEEDS TO BE DONE FOR THIS YEAR MAKE TO INSURE THE SAFETY OF PEOPLE AND PASSENGERS RIDING IN THIS CAR.
THE VALVE COVER GASKET KEEPS LEAKING OIL. I HAVE FIXED THIS TWICE IN THE LAST 30K MILES. NOW IT IS LEAKING AGAIN. VALVE COVER GASKET SHOULD NOT GO BAD EVERY 10K TO 15K MILES. IF NEGLECTED IT WILL CAUSE ENGINE FIRE DUE TO OIL.
COMPLETE LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER WHILE DRIVING, USUALLY FROM 30 TO 70 MPH, ON A CITY STREET, COUNTRY ROAD AND INTERSTATE HIGHWAY. THIS HAS HAPPENED MULTIPLE TIMES SINCE BUYING THE CAR SECOND HAND IN JULY 2017 TO THE PRESENT JANUARY 2018. WE WILL NO LONGER DRIVE THE CAR SINCE IT IS QUITE FRIGHTENING TO LOSE POWER WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH ON THE HIGHWAY IN TRAFFIC. ALSO, SEVERAL TIMES THERE IS NO ELECTRICAL POWER AT ALL IN THE CAR AFTER STOPPING THE CAR AND TRYING TO RESTART IT. THE BATTERY HAS BEEN TESTED AND IS CHARGED AND WORKING NORMALLY. THERE IS A RECALL FOR THE POSITIVE BATTERY CONNECTION AND CABLE TO THE TERMINAL CONNECTION AT THE CABIN FUSE BOX WHICH CAN WEAR OUT AND FAIL FOR BMWS STARTING IN 2007 THAT CAUSE THE SAME PROBLEMS. OUR CAR HAS THE SAME PROBLEM BUT WHY IS IT NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ?
"TAKATA RECALL " I WAS TRYING TO GET OFF MY CAR AND MY DOORS WOULDN'T UNLOCK EVEN WHEN I PUT PULL THE DOOR HANDLE ALL FOUR OF THEM WOULDN'T OPEN MY KIDS WERE IN THE CAR WITH ME SO I HAD TO GET OUT TO THE WINDOWS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 325I. APPROXIMATELY TWO HOURS AFTER PARKING AND SHUTTING OFF THE VEHICLE, IT CAUGHT ON FIRE. FLAMES AND SMOKE WERE VISIBLE UNDER THE HOOD. THE LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT WAS CALLED TO THE SCENE AND EXTINGUISHED THE FLAMES. A FIRE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE LOCAL DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 192,000.
TENSION BELTS.OVER HEATING.ALIGNMENT.TRANSMISSION. I'VE LOST JOBS DUE TO THESE ISSUES THE CAR AGAIN IS BROKE
RESTRAINT MALFUNCTION FOR FRONT PASSENGER CODE 93C3. MY VIN IS NOT A PART OF THE RECALL BUT THE PARTICULAR MODEL HAS RECALL FOR THE SAME ISSUE. THE CODE IS FOR THE AIRBAG WHICH WOULD NOT DEPLOY IN THE CASE OF AN ACCIDENT IF A PASSENGER IS SITTING IN THE FRONT SEAT OR NOT.
CAR CAUGHT ON FIRE IN THE GARAGE 2 1/2 HOURS AFTER PARKING. TOTAL LOSS OF CAR WITH DAMAGE TO GARAGE. STARTED IN THE VERY FRONT ENGINE AREA UNDER THE HOOD. WAS BURNED SO BADLY THEY COULD NOT SAY EXACTLY HOW IT STARTED. FIRE MARSHALL SUSPECTED WAS DUE TO POSSIBLE COOLING FAN SHORTAGE. NO ONE WAS AROUND THE CAR AT THE TIME THE FIRE STARTED. AFTER READING OF MULTIPLE BMW FIRES, I WANTED TO REPORT OURS ALSO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 325I. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED EACH TIME THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN. THE VEHICLE WAS PREVIOUSLY SERVICED ON JUNE 6, 2017 PER A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR THE DRIVER SIDE FRONTAL AIR BAG AT CLASSIC BMW DEALER (LOCATED IN DALLAS, TX). THE CONTACT INFORMED THE DEALER THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR REMAINED ILLUMINATED AFTER THE REPAIR. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT A DIAGNOSTIC FEE HAD TO BE PAID BEFORE THE VEHICLE COULD BE SERVICED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY 2006 BMW 325I LEAKS OIL. THE MANUFACTURER BOLTS ARE DEFECTIVE AND THERE ARE OTHERS WITH SIMILAR ISSUES. I'M CONCERNED MY CAR MY CATCH ON FIRE DUE TO THE OIL LEAKS. MY CAR HAS SHUT OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY DUE TO THIS AND ALMOST CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. I HAVE SEEN OTHERS WITH THE SAME VEHICLE STOPPED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY AS WELL.
ABOUT THE AIRBAG TAKATA
AIR BAGS: PASSENGER OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SYSTEM MALFUCTIONS ANYTIME THE PASSENGER SEAT IS OCCUPIED
I TOOK MY BMW FOR AN AIRBAG RECALL TO CLASSIC BMW ON 6800 NORTH DALLAS PKWY, PLANO, RX. THEY DID NOT DISCUSS ANY CHARGES AND SUPPOSEDLY THEY CHANGED MY AIRBAG ON THE DRIVER SIDE FOR FREE. THIS WAS COMPLETED ON JUNE,5 ,2017. ON JUNE,13, 2017 MY AIRBAG SIGN STARTED COMING UP. HAS NEVER HAD ISSUES WITH MY CAR IN THE PAST REGARDING AIR BAG SIGN. NOW CLASSIC BMW WANTS ME TO PAY 180 DOLLARS JUST TO DIAGNOSE SOMETHING THEY WORKED ON. NOW THEY ARE GIVING ME ON THE TEXT MESSAGE A LAUNDRY LIST OF ITEMS RELATED TO AIR BAG. WHATEVER HAS HAPPENED IS WHAT THEY HAVE DAMAGED. I TRIED TO WORK IT WITH THEM AND TALK AND EXPLAIN. IT SEEMS THEY DON'T WANT TO DISCUSS IT AT ALL. MY CAR WAS WORKING VERY CLEAN AND PROPERLY.
BMW 3 SERIES MODELS 330I AND 325I YEAR 2006/2007 HAVE A PROBLEM WITH VALVE COVER AND HEAD BOLTS BREAKING OFF (BOLTS ARE MADE OF ALUMINUM), IN MY PERSONAL CASE, I WAS INSPECT MY CAR WHEN I WAS PARKED AND I FOUND A HEAD BOLT CLOSE TO THE OIL FILTER HOUSING BROKE OFF AND ALSO FOUND THE HEAD OF THE BOLT ON THE ENGINE BAY, CLOSE TO THE HOLE WHERE THE OIL IS BEING LEAKING. THE LEAK IS BAD AND I HAVE TO FILL IT UP EVERY WEEK. SOME OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD VALVE COVER BOLTS BROKEN OFF AND OIL LEAKING ON THE EXHAUST WICH COULD CAUSE FIRE AND ACCIDENTS. SEEMS LIKE THIS WAS A FACTORY DEFECT OVER TORQUING THE BOLTS OR LOW QUALITY ALUMINUM BOLTS. BMW SHOULD FIX THIS PROBLEM WITH ALL THIS MODELS AND YEARS. I HAVE READ ONLINE OF SEVERAL PEOPLE DEALING WITH THIS PROBLEM AN EVEN PAYING BMW DEALERS LOTS OF MONEY WHEN THE PROBLEM BEGUN AT THE MANUFACTURING PLANT. SERIOUS ENGINE DAMAGED CAN OCCUR TOO IF OTHER BOLTS INSIDE THE VALVE COVER BREAK AND MESS OTHERS COMPONENTS UP INSIDE THE ENGINE. OTHER NEWER MODELS DON'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM AFTER THE BOLTS BEING UPGRADE TO A BETTER QUALITY ALUMINUM OR CHANGE THE TORQUE VALUE ON THEM. THANKS SO MUCH FOR RESEARCHING AND YOUR TIME.

BMW OF WEST HOUSTON (20822 CHANEY FREEWAY, CHANEY, TX 77449) STATED THAT PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY DEALER SAID A REAR SPRING IN MY USED BMW IS CRACKED. THE OTHER REAR SPRING HAS BEEN REPLACED WITH AN AFTER MARKET SPRING. I SEE ON THE INTERNET THAT MY TYPE BMW HAS MANY PROBLEMS WITH REAR CRACKED SPRINGS. A MANUFACTURING DEFECT? THE AFTER MARKET SPRING MOST LIKELY REPLACING ANOTHER CRACKED REAR SPRING
THE RIGHT-SIDE BACK WINDOW OF MY 325I 2006 BMW SLIPPED DOWN AND DOES NOT ROLL BACK UP USING THE ELECTIC BUTTON. FIRST, IT STARTED GOING HALF WAY AND SUDDENLY WENT ALL THE WAY DOWN INTO THE DOOR. THE CAR WAS NOT MOVING. I SIMPLY WANTED THE WINDOW SLIGHTLY OPEN. THIS IS A WINDOW I VERY SELDOM USE. I WAS TOLD BY MECHANICS THAT WORK ON BMW'S, THAT THIS IS A FACTORY DEFECT ON THIS SERIES AND IT IS HAPPENING A LOT ON THIS SERIES. THE COST TO FIX IT IS ABOUT $300. THIS IS A DEFECT THE BMW COMPANY SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR FIXING. THE BUYER SHOULD NOT BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEIR DEFECTS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 325I. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING AT HIGH SPEEDS, THE VEHICLE VIBRATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BUSHINGS ON THE FRONT AXLE WERE DAMAGED AND THE CONTROL ARMS WERE DEFECTIVE AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THE CONTACT COULD ASK FOR A DISCOUNT AT THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 143,598. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 325XI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PASSENGER AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND REMAINED LIT. THE CONTACT CALLED BMW OF LYNCHBURG (LOCATED AT 2643 LAKESIDE DR LYNCHBURG, VA 24501) WHO STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V564000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT COVERED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V564000 (AIR BAGS). THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND VIN WERE UNKNOWN.
BOTH OF THE AIR BAGS, DRIVERS AND PASSENGER TURNED OFF AND I FEEL VERY UNSAFE DRIVING MY CAR. I CHECKED ONLINE AND MY CAR HAS A RECALL FOR THEM.HOWEVER MY SPECIFIC VIN FOR MY CAR DOES NOT HAVE A RECALL ALTHOUGH IT HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS WITH THE AIRBAGS
MY WIFE PARKED HER 2006 BMW 325I AND WHEN SHE TRIED TO START THE CAR THE ELECTRONIC STEERING WHEEL LOOK MALFUNCTION LIGHT CAME ON. SHE WAS UNABLE TO START THE CAR, MOVE THE CAR OR TAKE IT OUT OF PARK TO HAVE IT TOWED. THIS IS EITHER A BAD DESIGN BY BMW (IT ONLY HAPPENS IN 2006-7 MODELS) OR SAFETY DEFECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 325I. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE CONTACT SMELLED A FUEL ODOR INSIDE THE VEHICLE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED A PUDDLE OF FUEL UNDER THE VEHICLE. WHEN HE DROVE OFF FROM HIS GARAGE, THERE WAS A TRAIL OF FUEL FOLLOWING THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT ALSO NOTICED, UNDER THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE OF THE VEHICLE, A STRONG ODOR OF FUEL. THE FUEL SENDING UNIT WAS COVERED WITH FUEL AND THE LACKING RING THAT SECURED THE FUEL SENDING UNIT WAS CORRODED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
STEERING WHEEL LOCKS AND CAR WONT START
REAR WINDOWS. I BOUGHT MY 2006 BMW 325I IN MAY 2015 WITH 60K MILES. IN AUGUST 2015 I REPLACED MY REAR DRIVER SIDE WINDOW REGULATOR AFTER I HEARD A LOUD POP AND MY WINDOW ROLLED DOWN AND WOULDN'T ROLL BACK UP. I WAS ROLLING DOWN MY WINDOW TO ENTER MY GATE CODE AT MY APARTMENT, AND HIT THE REAR BUTTON BY MISTAKE. I HAD TO GO A NERVE WRACKING WEEK WITH MY WINDOW STUCK DOWN, HOPING NO ONE WOULD STEAL IT. IN DECEMBER 2016 THE SAME REAR DRIVER WINDOW ROLLED DOWN AND WOULDN'T ROLL UP. THIS TIME, WHEN I TRIED TO ROLL IT BACK UP I COULDN'T HEAR THE WINDOW MOTOR TRYING SO I REPLACED THE MOTOR. IN MARCH 2017 MY REAR PASSENGER WINDOW REGULATOR FAILED. WHEN I ATTEMPTED TO ROLL IT BACK UP I HEAR A CRACKING NOISE, SO I KNEW IT WAS THE REGULATOR. THIS TIME I'M HOPING SOMEONE WILL STEAL THIS GARBAGE VEHICLE. HOW CAN THESE FAULTY PARTS STILL BE AROUND? THE ENTIRE TIME IN HAVE OWNED THIS VEHICLE I HAVE HAD AT LEAST ONE WINDOW SARAN WRAPPED. I HAVE CALLED BMW DENVER DOWNTOWN (303-954-4856) AND THUS FAR THEY HAVE REFUSED TO PERFORM THE RECALL. THEY KEEP TELLING ME THEY DON'T HAVE THE PART FOR IT. WHEN ASKED FOR AN ETA, THE ONLY THING THEY ARE TELLING ME IS THAT THEY DON'T HAVE AN ETA, AND THAT THE PART MAY NEVER BE AVAILABLE. THIS IS THE ONLY BMW DEALER ANYWHERE NEAR MY AREA THAT IS ABLE TO PERFORM THE RECALL. MY VEHICLE HAS THE OCCUPANCY SENSOR ERROR DISPLAYED ON THE DASH, SO I KNOW FOR A FACT THE PART COVERED UNDER THE RECALL HAS ALREADY FAILED. SINCE 2014 I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE 3 OEM RIMS FOR CRACKING. THIS HAS CAUSED ME MUCH INCONVENIENCE AND TIME AND MONEY TO REPLACE NOT ONLY THE RIMS BUT AT TIMES THE TIRE ITSELF. BMW'S FAILURE TO DISCLOSE THE FACT THAT THE BMW RTF ALLOY WHEELS PREMATURELY CRACK IS ESPECIALLY EGREGIOUS IN LIGHT OF THE SAFETY HAZARD RESULTING FROM DRIVING WITH A CRACKED WHEEL, DUE TO THE LOSS OF TIRE PRESSURE THAT TYPICALLY ENSUES. MOREOVER, THE POSSIBILITY OF A LOSS IN TIRE PRESSURE WHILE DRIVING THE SUBJECT VEHICLES WOULD BE A MATERIAL FACT TO A REASONABLE CONSUMER. A CASE WAS AWARDED FOR THE Z CAR MODEL IN THE US AND ANOTHER FOR MY MODEL USING THIS SIMILAR ARGUMENT ABOUT THE RIMS IN THE U.K. BUT BMW REFUSES TO ENTERTAIN IT THE BMW ALLOY WHEELS ARE SUBJECT TO CRACKING UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS, CREATING A SAFETY HAZARD AND NECESSITATING REPLACEMENT OR REPAIR OF THE WHEEL AND SOMETIMES THE TIRE, AT SUBSTANTIAL COST TO THE CONSUMER. MOST RECENTLY, AND MOST ALARMING, I RECEIVED A "FAULT IN PASSENGER-RESTRAINT SYSTEM AFFECTING MY AIRBAG" WHEN I STARTED MY CAR UP TWO-WEEKS AGO. I HAVE DONE PLENTY OF RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT A BMW SAFETY RECALL WAS MADE ON THE EXACT YEAR AND MODEL (2006 BMW 330I), BUT MY VIN IS NOT COVERED BECAUSE IT DID NOT COME WITH THE SPECIFIC SPORT SEATS, IT WAS CALLED UNDER. I DO NOT UNDERSTAND IF SO MANY INDIVIDUALS IN BMW FORUMS ARE HAVING THIS SAME ISSUE WITHOUT HAVING THE "SPORT SEATS" BUT WE SHARE THE SAME MODEL, MAKE AND YEAR AS THE ONE NHTSA ORIGINALLY GOT RECALLED RECALLED, WHY MY VIN IS NOT COVERED. DID ALITTLE RESEARCH, MY PASSENGER SEAT AIRBAG WILL EITHER DEPLOY METAL SHARDS OR NOT DEPLOY AT ALL INCASE OF AN ACCIDENT. OR THE SEATBELT WILL NOT PROPERLY ENGAGE.
