THE VEHICLE STARTED MAKING A LOUD KNOCKING SOUND WHILE DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AT APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH. (VIDEO WAS TAKEN) THE OIL PRESSURE DROPPED, A BATTERY INDICATOR LIGHT FLASHED, THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT, AND THE VEHICLE LOST SPEED. I ALMOST WREAKED. I CHECKED MY STEERING WHEEL FLUID AND IT WAS BROWN, AN INDICATION TO ME THE POWER STEERING PUMP WENT OUT. A BELT ALSO SNAPPED. I PURCHASED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT BMW IS TELLING ME DOES NOT COVER THE A/C COMPRESSOR. I AM BEING TOLD THAT IN ORDER FOR BMW OF FRESNO TO MAKE A PROPER ASSESSMENT OF THE STEERING ISSUE I FIRST HAVE TO REPLACE THE A/C COMPRESSOR AT $2535.34. AS A FLEET MANAGER, I KNOW MY CHAIN IS BEING YANKED.

TAKATA RECALL I RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE IN MARCH FOR MY 2008 BMW 3 SERIES CONVERTIBLE, [XXX] STATING THAT THE DRIVER'S FRONT AIR BAG MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AND THAT I WOULD BE NOTIFIED WHEN PARTS BECOME AVAILABLE. I HAVE RECENTLY PURCHASED ANOTHER CAR (NOT A BMW) BUT THE TRADE IN ON THE BMW IS BLOCKED BY THE PENDING RECALL REPAIR. MY LOCAL DEALER, WEATHERFORD IN BERKELEY, CA INFORMS ME THAT THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE THE PARTS AND HAVE NO INFORMATION ON WHEN THEY MAY BECOME AVAILABLE. NO PROGRESS ON RECALL CAMPAIGN NO. 16V-071 SINCE NOTIFICATION 7+ MONTHS AGO. GIVEN THE YEAR OF MY BMW SERIES 3 SPORTSWAGON (2008) AND MY COASTAL LOCATION, I AM VERY CONCERNED THAT PARTS ARE STILL NOT AVAILABLE TO CORRECT THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM. THE RECALL NOTICE DIRECTS THE CONSUMER TO CONTACT WWW.SAFECAR.GOV "IF YOUR BMW CENTER IS UNABLE TO REMEDY THE DEFECT ... WITHIN A REASONABLE PERIOD OF TIME."
TAKATA RECALL. I WAS MAILED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FROM BMW ALERTING ME TO THE FACT THAT MY AIRBAGS HAD BEEN RECALLED, AND THAT THEY POSED A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY HAZARD. THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY DID NOT HAVE PARTS IN SUPPLY CURRENTLY TO FIX THE ISSUE, BUT WOULD CONTACT ME AGAIN WHEN THEY HAD THE PARTS. THIS WAS OVER A YEAR AGO. THEY STILL HAVE NOT CONTACTED ME ABOUT REPLACING MY AIRBAGS. THIS HAS NOT BEEN TAKEN CARE OF IN A TIMELY MANNER AT ALL.
I HAVE RECEIVED AN INITIAL RECALL LETTER FROM BMW IN MARCH OF 2016. THEY STILL DO NOT HAVE PARTS TO SERVICE THIS AUTOMOBILE TO CORRECT THE RECALL.

SAFETY RISK: INFLATOR RUPTURE COULD RESULT IN METAL FRAGMENTS STRIKING THE DRIVER OR OTHER PASSENGERS, POTENTIALLY RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. I EXPERIENCED A BREAK DOWN WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON A CITY STREET. MY CAR WAS THEN TOWED TO THE LOCAL DEALER AND DEALER DISCOVERED WATER PUMP WAS BAD SO IT WAS THEN REPLACED UNDER WARRANTY. 3 YEARS LATER MY CAR BROKE DOWN AGAIN AND WAS TOWED TO LOCAL DEALER AN AGAIN THE WATER PUMP WAS DETERMINED BAD AND REPLACED. I CONTACTED BMW NORTH AMERICA TO SEE IF THEY WOULD HELP CONSIDERING THE WATER PUMP HAS BROKEN TWICE BUT NO HELP FROM THEM.

AFTER CONTACTING THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THE RECALL REMEDY WERE STILL NOT AVAILABLE AND NO ESTIMATED TIME FOR RECEIVING THE PARTS COULD BE PROVIDED. ALL FOUR DOORS WILL NOT UNLOCK. I AM ABLE TO LOCK THEM WITH THE REMOTE BUT UNABLE TO UNLOCK THEM. ONCE INSIDE, YOU BECOME TRAPPED IN THE CAR. I HAVE TO UNROLL THE WINDOW AND USE MY KEY ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE DOOR TO GET OUT. THIS COULD BE EXTREMELY DANGEROUS IN AN EMERGENCY SITUATION.
I WAS DRIVING AT 60 MILES PER HOUR ON WOODALL ROGERS FWY IN DALLAS, WHEN MY CAR STARTED SHAKING AND WENT INTO LIMP MODE. I PULLED OVER ON THE HIGHWAY AND COULD NOT GET THE CAR TO START AGAIN. I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO BMW. THEY SAID IT HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH A PREVIOUS RECALL ABOUT THE FUEL PUMP AND GAVE ME A $3,000 QUOTE. I HAD IT TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT SHOP WHERE THEY REPLACED A WATER PUMP AND OTHER ITEMS. HOWEVER, THE RECALL INFORMATION I HAVE BEEN READING DESCRIBES EXACTLY WHAT HAPPENED TO MY CAR. WHENEVER I DRIVE MY CAR NOW AND I ACCELERATE, IT STILL GIVES ME AN ENGINE WARNING AND STARTS SHAKING. I BELIEVE MY CAR IS "SUFFERING" FROM THE WATER PUMP ISSUE.
PASSENGER AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM MALFUNCTION . WHICH SEEM TO HAPPENING TO A LOT BMW CARS .ITS SAFETY ISSUE AND BMW WON'T COVER IT UNDER THEY RECALL OR WARRANTY
PASSENGER SAFETY RESTRAINT SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS, WHEN A PASSENGER IS SITTING IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, THE SYSTEM MALFUNCTIONS. THIS MEANS THE AIRBAG WILL NOT DEPLOY SHOULD THERE BE A CRASH. THIS VERY ISSUE IS A CAUSE OF A RECALL BY BMW FOR 2007 MODELS, BUT EARLY 2008 MODELS ARE NOT CURRENTLY COVERED DESPITE THIS BEING A VERY COMMON ISSUE WITH THIS MODEL.
THE CAR'S AIRBAG FAILURE WARNING LIGHT, AND SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT STARTED GOING OFF WHENEVER SOMEONE SITS IN THE PASSENGER SEAT, INDICATING THAT THERE IS NO AIRBAG/PASSENGER SEAT BELT FUNCTION IN THE CAR. DEALER HAS DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A FAILED PASSENGER SEAT SENSOR MAT AND INDICATES THAT THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM. CARS UP UNTIL THE 2007 MODEL YEAR HAVE BEEN RECALLED TO FIX THE PROBLEM, BUT BMW HAS YET TO EXTEND THE RECALL TO THE 2008 MODEL YEAR. BMW STILL HAS NOT ISSUED A RECALL, AND I WOULD LIKE NHTSA TO PERFORM AN INVESTIGATION AS THIS LOOKS LIKE THE SAME PROBLEM AS NHTSA CAMPAIGN 13V-564. THE LIGHTS COME ON WHETHER STATIONARY OR IN MOTION, WHETHER A PASSENGER IS IN THE SEAT OR THE SEAT IS EMPTY.
ATTENTION: BMW CUSTOMER RELATIONS ON, SATURDAY, 01/02/2016, AT APPROXIMATELY 6:30PM MY WIFE AND I WERE DRIVING ON THE FORT HAMILTON PKWY IN BROOKLYN, NY IN MY BMW 328I CONVERTIBLE. WHILE DRIVING AT 55 MILES PER HOUR MY CAR SUDDENLY STOP COMPLETELY IN THE MIDDLE TO TRAFFIC. IN ORDER TO EXIT OFF THE HIGHWAY SAFELY, I ALLOWED THE CAR TO ROLL TO REDUCE SPEED THEN USE THE HAND BRAKE IT TO STOP THE CAR COMPLETELY AT THE NEAREST EXIT, EXT # 5. AFTER EXITING I CALLED THE TOWING COMPANY. IT APPEARED THAT THIS INCIDENT WAS THE RESULT A FUEL PUMP FAILURE ON MY 2008 BMW 328XI WHICH ACCORDING TO THE MECHANIC BURNT THE CONTROL MODULE WHICH CAUSED THE ENGINE TO SHUT DOWN COMPLETELY. FUEL TANK FAILURE IS A HAZARDOUS CONDITION AND GIVEN THE FACT THAT A FUEL PUMP FAILURE RESULTS IN AN IMMEDIATE LOSS OF ENGINE POWER, POWER STEERING, AND POWER BRAKES AND A POTENTIAL DESIGN FLAW. DUE TO THIS FUEL TANK FAILURE MY WIFE AND I LIVE WERE PLACED IN DANGER. I CALLED BMW CUSTOMER RELATIONS. I INFORMED THEM OF WHAT HAD HAPPENED AND I EXPRESSED MY CONCERN FOR THE SAFETY OF MY WIFE AND MY LIFE AND EXPLAINED THE CAUSE OF THE PROBLEM. THE REPRESENTATIVE I SPOKE TO TODAY, 01/07/15, INFORMED ME THAT I SHOULD'VE GOTTEN A WARNING LIGHT ON THE DASH BOARD AND STATED SHE COULD NOT GIVE ME ANY ADDITIONAL INFORMATION UNLESS THE CAR WAS PRESENT. I INFORMED HER THAT AT THE TIME THE CAR BROKE DOWN THEIR DEALERSHIP WAS CLOSED AND I WAS FORCED TO HAVE IT TOWED TO G & J SERVICE AUTO REPAIR SHOP LOCATED AT 198 28TH STREET, NEW YORK, NY 11232. SHE STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING FURTHER SHE COULD DO OR ASSISTANCE SHE COULD GIVE WITHOUT THE CAR BEING PRESENT. A FUEL PUMP IS AN INTEGRAL PART OF ANY CAR. GIVEN THE RESPONSIBILITY OF LITERALLY PUMPING A VEHICLE'S FUEL FROM ITS TANK TO THE ENGINE, A MALFUNCTIONING FUEL PUMP WILL ALWAYS LEAD TO A TOTAL DISASTER. DRIVER'S NEED TO BE AWARE OF THIS COMMON PROBLEM
