Have been made aware recently a recall has been required on my vehicle although no remedy is available yet. PCV Crankcase Valve is defective which can cause several issues with vehicle...after learning this my car was having issues cranking and not starting, thinking it was the battery I had it replaced and still to no avail..replaced fuel pump thinking it may be a fuel issue and now no power..battery chargers get extremely hot when trying to charge car...B+ Battery Cable has been recalled in the past although I did not own this vehicle when BMW was mad aware in 2011, and my vehicle is a 2010! So many recalls, defective components with fuel related issues and electrical problems that can leave owners stranded. I have been lucky my car is at my home, although I now have to rely on others for transportation now....
Had my car checked at the dealer to confirm PCV heater issue (22V-119) after smelling burning plastic while driving in cold weather. I was told nothing was wrong and I need several different repairs totaling nearly $2000. Car overheated with a failed water pump days later. Dealer is outright refusing to provide any resolution outside of paying out of pocket for towing, repair, and rental.

After running errands and car had been parked for an hour or so, I returned to my vehicle and it would crank but would not start. After trying to start a few times it finally started and I was able to make it home without having to call a tow truck (Or being abandoned in a mall parking lot in the middle of the night). My car drove fine the next day, after driving for about an hour I parked at my parents home during a visit that lasted an hour or so. When returning to my vehicle to leave the same thing happened as before. It would crank but would not start. It took a few tries to start and then it ran fine and I was able to make it home with no issue. It started okay the following day and I was able to drive to and from work (approx. 8 miles). After parking over night I went to start vehicle and it would not start at all. It would crank but would not start. I had the battery replaced thinking it was an old battery (2010 vehicle) this would still not work, the car was also not able to be jumped from the engine compartment, may have something to do with the battery lines or fuel pump?Previous recall? I did not own this vehicle prior to 2018 so I am not sure if this could be the issue? Or properly repaired previous recall? recently APRIL 2022 Recall-PCV Valve Heater. The recall information claims that it is only activated in "cold weather climates" and that it may not have been produced to specifications by the supplier. Over time this could lead to overheating in the engine compartment. In some cases, this could lead to fire! This recall's remedy is unavailable at this time which is extremely concerning. I am actually scared to attempt to continue to inspect, as this recall can cause a fire. If this was a recall regarding windows, or windshield wipers that would be a little easier to deal with, but fires! The recall info requested drivers and passengers to dial 911 and immediately move to a safe location away from traffic if you see smoke/funny smell no remedy availabl
The car is experiencing rough idles and an imbalance in the overall performance. The PCV valve is not allowing enough air to return to the combustion chamber, creating a rough idle as the levels are imbalanced. It’s also causing a lean air to fuel mixture, oil leaks and increased fuel consumption. The PCV valve hoses became blocked by built-up moisture causing high pressure to be built up in the engine crankcase. The only way for this high pressure to escape is up through the cylinders and out of the gaskets, thus causing the gaskets to lose their seals. Oil is now able to leak out of the gaskets because the seal has been ruptured. I’ve already spent thousands of dollars on services including gasket changes.

The car overheating due to the pcv valve heater core. Causing severe damage to my engine. Good have put me in danger. BMW should have taken care of this a long time ago if there was a issue with it. Now my car is damaged and undrivable. I need a new engine. It could have caught fire.
- Engine timing bolts loosened and sheered off. - Car stalled while running. - Other Vehicles (BMW 328i 2010) have recalls on bolts, mine VIN was not selected for recall. - manufacturer checked and flagged previous recall from 2014. - Vehicle performance effected.

My vehicle's Passenger Restraint system has failed affecting the Airbag's deployment, seat belt tensioners, and other safety components. The car currently has warnings on the dashboard in the form of lights and as warning messages in the infotainment system. Lights/warnings appeared randomly while driving qith no prior symptoms. This fault puts the safety of any passengers in my vehicle in jeopardy in the event of a collision. Car is available for inspection at anytime to confirm faults.
Front Passenger Air Bag Seat Occupancy Sensor (OC3) Mat failure. Does not detect a passenger in the seat. Passenger airbag is forced off due to sensor.

MY HEAD LIGHTS WITH ADAPTIVE DRIVE CAUGHT ON FIRE AND BURNED THE WIRES.
SOME OF THE BMW FOOTWELL MODULE FOR THE E7X TO E9X MODELS CONTAINING A DEFECTIVE MICROCHIP THAT UPON JUMP-START OF THE VEHICLE WHEN THE BATTERY LEVEL IS LOW WOULD CORRUPT ITS MEMORY. WHEN CORRUPTION OCCURS, THE CAR WILL DISABLE TURNING SIGNAL BLINKERS, POWER WINDOWS, INTERNAL LIGHTS, AND MORE. THOSE AFFECTED FUNCTION WILL RENDER THE VEHICLE UNSAFE TO DRIVE. BMW HAS ISSUED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY TO COVER THE PART, BUT ONLY FOR OWNERS WHO RUN INTO THE PROBLEM (IE: JUMP-STARTED) WITHIN THAT TIME FRAME IS COVERED. I DID NOT REALIZE THIS INFAMOUS DEFECT UNTIL RECENTLY AND BMW FAILED TO INFORM ME OF THIS ISSUE PROACTIVELY. I'M THE ORIGINAL OWNER. AFTER I READ HUNDREDS OF ARTICLES ONLINE, THIS IS A PART THAT WARRANTS A BRODER RECALL.
I WAS ENTERING THE HIGHWAY AT 65MPH, THERE WERE NO CARS IN FRONT OR BEHIND ME AND NO BRIDGES ABOVE ME, ONCE I GOT TO AROUND 70MPH MY SUNROOF EXPLODED OUTWARDS WITH EXTREME FORCE FOR NO REASON, I COULD NOT FIND A ROCK OR GRAVEL AND I DO NOT BELIEVE GLASS WILL SHATTER OUTWARDS WHEN BROKEN FROM THE OUTSIDE.
I STARTED OVERHEATING AND LOOSING ALOT A POWER
BMW OF NORTH AMERICA, LLC (BMW) IS RECALLING CERTAIN 2009 328I AND 328XI, 2009-2011 335D, 2008-2012 M3 COUPE AND M3 CONVERTIBLE, AND 2008-2011 M3 SEDAN VEHICLES. THE CONNECTION OF THE POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE AT THE FUSE BOX TERMINAL MAY DEGRADE, RESULTING IN AN INTERMITTENT LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER. CONSEQUENCE: A LOSS OF ELECTRICAL POWER CAN CAUSE THE VEHICLE TO STALL, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH. *TR
THE VEHICLES FTM (FOOTWELL MODULE) ISN'T WORKING. DURING A DRIVE MY TURNING SIGNALS DIDN'T WANT TO WORK. MY HEADLIGHTS WON'T TURN OFF. WINDOWS STAY PUT. DOORS DON'T LOCK. VEHICLE IS STATIONARY BUT CAN STILL BE OPERATED. SHOPS AROUND THE AREA NOTIFIED ME THAT THEY HAD A FEW VEHICLES HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM THIS YEAR. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE SAME PROBABLY THE DATES FOR THE RECALLS DIDN'T INCLUDE MY CARS MANUFACTURERED STATE
MY REAR LEFT BRAKE CALIPER STARTED SHOOTING OUT BRAKE FLUID FROM WITHIN THE MIDDLE. I HAVE AN ATE CALIPER. THIS COVERS MODELS FROM ABOUT 2006-2014. ON BIMMERFEST.COM, E90POST.COM, ETC . . . MANY PEOPLE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM. ON ROCKAUTO, AUTOZONE, ETC . . . THE PREMIUM RECOMMENDED REPLACEMENT IS TO GET A CALIPER FOR THE REAR THAT HAS NO PHENOLIC PISTON, YET, INSTEAD HAS A SOLID METAL PISTON. UNTO THE WORST, AT TIMES, THE PHENOLIC PISTON HAS EJECTED FROM THE CALIPER AND JAMMED THE BRAKE PADS TO THE VERY ROTORS. ATE CALIPERS ARE OFTEN USED AS SINGLE OR DUAL PIN BOOTED CALIPERS ON BENZ. THEY ALWAYS HAVE METAL PISTONS. I HAVE PREMIUM BRAKES. MY ROTORS ARE UNHARMED, MY BRAKE PADS ARE UNHARMED. THERE IS NOT A SCRATCH IN MY ROTOR. MY WHEEL BEARING IS GONE. MY SUSPENSION IS GONE.MY SUB FRAME IS GONE. IT FLATTENED MY TIRE. IT MADE ME SLIDE COMING OUT OF A TURN AT 15-18MPH. MY SPEEDOMETER BEGAN WAVERING UP AND DOWN, I GOT A TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT FOR THE DISC. IT SLID INTO THE SIDE OF A CURB. THE CURB HAS NOT A MARK ON IT. MY CAR HAS ONLY PAINT DAMAGE TO LOWER DRIVER SIDE SKIRT. AND SMALL SCRATCH ON THE FRONT LEFT QUARTER PANEL. WHILE WE ARE AT IT, WHY IS THERE NO REGULATION THAT A HUGE H8 OR T8 SIZED BATTERY NOT BE PLACED UNDER THE REAR PASSENGER SEAT WHERE THE CHILD SEAT GOES? YOUR CHILD IS SITTING ON A HUGE PILE OF SULFURIC ACID. THEY ARE SEALED, BUT THEY COOK AND SMELL LIKE ROTTEN EGGS OFTEN. ANOTHER BAD DESIGN. THEY DID THAT FOR YEARS. IT NEEDS TO GO IN THE TRUNK OR SOMEWHERE ELSE. THAT'S TERRIBLE! IT HAS HIGH PRESSURE EXTERNAL DFI, AND A CENTERED FUEL TANK. THE YEARS OF THE DODGE AND LAMBO LP TRIAL AND ERROS ALL COMBINED. IT'S REALLY BAD. I HAVE ME CALLING THE POLICE TO FILE A REPORT. THEY DENIED SHOWING TO THE SCENE. I HAVE THE CALLS RECORDED. I FILED AN ACCIDENT REPORT WITH THE TN DEPT OF HOMELAND SECURITY; AND I HAVE A CERTIFIED MAIL RECEIPT. NO ONE ELSE INVOLVED. 12:31*DT*JB
IT KEEPS BURNING OIL AND I'M GOING THROUGH COIL PACKS LIKE CRAZY AND IT ALSO STALLS OUT THE SMOKES LIKE CRAZY
OIL LEAVE VALVE COVER MILEAGE AT 50,000 MILES. VALVE COVER LEAKING OIL WHICH IS RUNNING DOWN ON MOTOR AND COULD START A FIRE
I WAS SLOWING TO A STOP IN RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, WENT TO BRAKE AND THE ENGINE REVVED UP TO 300 RPMS AND LURCHED FORWARD, ALMOST HITTING THE CAR IN FRONT OF ME. TRAFFIC WAS CRAWLING SO I WAS ONLY GOING ABOUT 20 MPH BEFORE I WAS ABOUT TO MAKE A COMPLETE STOP.
OCCASIONAL RATTLE NOISE AT THE FRONT END OF THE RUNNING MOTION ENGINE FOLLOWED BY SURGE POWER AND ERROR CODE 2A87 AND 2A7A VANOS RELATED DTC. VEHICLE THEN BECOME ROUGH IDLED.
THE PASSENGER OCCUPANCY SENSOR MAT GIVES AN ON AND OFF FAULTY SIGNAL TO THE COMPUTER. EVERY OTHER CAR START (STATIONARY), THE AIRBAG FAULT RELATED TO THE PASSENGER OCCUPANCY SENSOR IS ILLUMINATED AND REMAINS ON UNTIL NEXT CAR START.
THE PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM IS MALFUNCTIONING, WHICH MAY AFFECT THE AIRBAG. IT DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THAT THE PASSENGER HAS THEIR SEAT BELT ON. RED LIGHTS ARE FLASHING AND IT STATES THAT THE PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM IS MALFUNCTIONING. I FEEL THAT THE MANUFACTURER SHOULD PROVIDE REPAPIRS FOR A SAFETY SYSTEM AT NO CHARGE. NOT SURE IF IT IS A BAD SENSOR OR WHAT. THIS HAPPENS WHEN THE CAR IS TURNED ON AND A PASSENGER IS SEATED WITH THEIR SEAT BELT ON. DATE BELOW IS APPROXIMATE. I HAVE NOT TAKEN IT INTO A BMW DEALERSHIP YET BECAUSE OVER THE PHONE, THEY SAID IT MAY COST ABOUT $1,400 TO FIX.
NITROUS OXIDE SENSORS UPSTREAM AND DOWNSTREAM AND CATALYTIC TANK ALL FAILED. NOTICES OF EXTENDED WARRANTY UP TO 10 YEARS BUT FAILED AFTER SO NO REIMBURSEMENT. SUSPECT MANY PEOPLE UNAWARE WHEN NON BMW SERVICE CENTER REPAIRED AND NON RECORDED. RECALL SHOULD BE INITIATED. HAVE RECORDS TO VERIFY BAD NOX SENSORS AND BEING TOLD NOW CATALYTIC CONVERTERS NEEDS REPLACING .
SEAT SENSOR OCCUPANCY MAT MALFUNCTION: WHY IS BMW NOT VOLUNTARILY RECALLING OR EXTENDING THIS WIDESPREAD KNOWN ISSUE BMWS? THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM ACROSS MANY MODELS OF BMWS, FORUMS ARE FILLED WITH SO MANY COMPLAINTS. AFTER MARKET MANUFACTURERS HAVE CREATED MODULES TO BYPASS THIS SENSOR, WHICH APPARENTLY IS GOING TO CAUSE HAZARDOUS CONDITION FOR SOME OF THE OWNERS. THERE'S A CONSTANT DISPLAY ON THE DASHBOARD THAT SAYS, "PASS-RESTRAINT SYSTEM MALFUNCTION". APPARENTLY IT'S QUITE A COMMON ISSUE ACROSS MANY BMWS AND UNFORTUNATELY BMW HAS NOT ACKNOWLEDGED IT FOR ALL MODELS AND HAVE DONE THE RECALL FOR LIMITED MODEL BETWEEN 2006 AND 2007, 2008 WAS LATER ADDED BUT MY CAR WAS ACTUALLY MANUFACTURED IN 2009 SO I BELIEVE THIS RECALL NEEDS TO BE EXTENDED BEYOND 2008. ON THE FORUMS, I SAW AND READ OWNERS OF 2011 AND 2012 ALSO REPORTING THIS ISSUE.
AIR BAG LIGHT JUST CAME ON, HAD IT CHECKED BUT STILL THERE
CAR PARKED IN DRIVEWAY AND BURST INTO FLAMES 5 MINUTES AFTER PARKING IT. TOTALLY DESTROYED.
I OWN 2 BMW 335D'S, ONE A 2010 AND THE OTHER A 2011. I CANNOT KEEP THESE CARS ON THE ROAD. I HAVE HAD "SERVICE ENGINE SOON" LIGHTS CONSTANTLY. EVERY CODE LEADS BACK TO THE EMMISSIONS SYSTEM ON THESE DIESELS. THE LATEST IS AN SCR CODE THAT IS THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO REPAIR. BMW CAME OUT WITH A 10 YEAR 120K MILE EXTENDED WARRANTY ON THE PROBLEM. THEY SHOULD HAVE COME OUT WITH A RECALL! I HAVE HAD SO MANY SERVICE ENGINE LIGHTS I CANNOT AFFORD TO KEEP THESE CARS ON THE ROAD. THESE CARS ARE WORSE THAN THE VW DIESELS. THE CARS RUNS GREAT, YET BECAUSE OF THE SERVICE LIGHTS THE RPAIRS ARE MORE COSTLY THAN THE CARS ARE WORTH. I ASKED THE MURRIETA BMW TO ASK BMWNA TO SEE IF THEY WOULD REPAIR THE SCR ACTIVE TANK AND WAS DECLINED. I RUN THE 2010 BMW MANY MILES ON THE FREEWAYS SO THE SCR ACTIVE TANK PROBLEM DIDN'T SHOW UP UNTIL 186K MILES. MY 2011 BMW WHICH ISN'T DRIVEN ON FREEWAYS IS MUCH HAD TO HAVE THAT TANK REPLACED AT 117K MILES. WHEN TALKING WITH THE MURRIETA BMW SERVICE MANAGER, HE AGREED WHEN I TOLD HIM THESE CARS ARE CRAP. WHEN THE SERVICE MANAGER HAD NOTHING GOOD TO SAY ABOUT THE CARS THAT SPEAKS VOLUMES. THE BLOGS ON THE COMPUTER ARE LOADED WITH COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE EMISSION AND DEF SYSTEMS ON THESE DIESELS. HELP, I TRUELY HAVE TWO CARS RIGHT NOW THAT ARE WORTHLESS! THE SERVICE MANAGERS ADVICE WAS TO TURN THEM IN TO A DEALERSHIP AND GET NEW(ER) CARS... REALLY, PASS THE PROBLEM ONTO SOME OTHER UNSUSPECTING PERSON WHEN BMW KNOWS THESE CARS ARE MORE THAN A PROBLEM - UNBELIEVABLE!
Passenger seat throwing a code that says "passenger restraint system malfunction"
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 BMW 335I. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BLOWER MOTOR FAILED TO OPERATE. WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO COAST THE VEHICLE OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND POWERED OFF THE ENGINE. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, BUT FAILED TO DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO BMW OF SILVER SPRING (LOCATED AT 3211 AUTOMOBILE BLVD, SILVER SPRING, MD 20904, (888) 295-2096) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE ENGINE OVERHEATED. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE WATER PUMP WAS LEAKING, AND THE RADIATOR WAS LEAKING ANTIFREEZE AND WAS MIXING WITH THE OIL, WHICH NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 75,000.
TAKATA INFLATORS. PASSENGER SEAT MAT/OCCUPANCY SENSOR CAUSING AIR BAG LIGHT TO TURN ON.
THE WIRING HARNESS FOR THE HEADLIGHTS TENDS TO ROT OVERTIME IN THESE CARS WHICH THEN LEADS TO BARE COPPER WIRES MAKING CONTACT WITH EACH OTHER AND ENDS UP CAUSING A SHORT AND BLOWING THE BULB. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD, NOT ONLY FOR VISIBILITY BUT FOR FIRE PREVENTION AS WELL. THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE IN A LOT OF BMW'S AND IT SHOULD BE ADDRESSED. THIS ISN'T SOMETHING THAT SHOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED AND IT IS VERY CHALLENGING TO DO SO. I TOOK A LOOK AT THIS AS MY HEADLIGHT BULB BLEW LAST WEEK WHILE ON THE ROAD. LIKE I HAD MENTIONED EARLIER, THIS IS PRETTY COMMON AND IS EVEN OCCURRING IN THEIR NEWER MODELS. THE INSULATION OVER THE WIRING JUST FLAKES OFF AND THE DEALERSHIPS SHOW NO CARE WHEN THE ISSUE IS BROUGHT UP.
FOUND A BROKEN BOLT OF THE INTAKE CYLINDER HEAD, WAS BROKE WITHOUT ANY REASON. I NOT THE ONLY ONE, FOUND THIS VIDEO. HTTPS://WWW.YOUTUBE.COM/WATCH?V=A7HIZIB96PQ THERE ARE 3 MORE BOLTS INSIDE THE CYLINDER HEAD THAT CAN CAUSE SERIOUS DAMAGE ON THE ENGINE IF BROKEN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 BMW 328XI. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH, THE SEAT BELT CHIME ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SOUNDED AND THE AIR BAG WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THERE WAS NO PASSENGER OCCUPYING THE SEAT. AFTER THE LAST INCIDENT ON SEPTEMBER 24, 2018, THE FAILURE OCCURRED EVERY DAY. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE CHIME WAS BY ENGAGING THE LATCH ON THE SEAT BELT BUCKLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WINSLOW BMW OF COLORADO SPRINGS (5845 N NEVADA AVENUE, COLORADO SPRINGS, CO 80918) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE SENSOR MAT ON THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE WAS DAMAGED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 109,000.
TAKATA RECALL - I THINK AIR BAG AND SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHTS ARE ON ALL THE TIME. BMW SAYS THERE IS NO RECALL AFFECTING THIS. BOTH STATIONARY AND MOVING.

I CONTENT THE SAME ISSUE EXTENDS INTO LATER YEARS AND SHOULD RECEIVE THE SAME LEVEL OF SUPPORT FROM BMW.
