REAR DRIVER SIDE DOOR FLIES OPEN IN TRAFFIC. CAR WAS MOVING ON A CITY STREET WHILE TURNING.
DOORS WILL NOT LATCH I SPOKE WITH DEALER HE WANTED ME TO SPEND$195 BEFORE HE WORKED ON MY CAR I EXPLAIN AFTER REACHING THE PROBLEM AND FOUND A RECALL ON ONE OF THE SENSOR S. STILL REFUSE TO REPAIR WITHOUT ME SPENDING $195.
I HAVE NOTICED OTHER BMW OF SAME YEAR DIFFERENT VINS ARE HAVING ISSUES WITH DOOR ON DRIVER SIDE OPENING WHEN DRIVING AND WILL NOT CLOSE, I ENTER MY VIN AND IT SAID NO RECALLS BUT I AM HAVING SAME ISSUES EVERYONE ELSE IS HAVING WITH THEIR BMW, I WAS DRIVING DOWN ROAD GOING AROUND CURVE AND MY DRIVER DOOR CAME OPEN, I ALMOST FELT OUT, TRIED TO CLOSE DOOR BACK BUT DOOR WILL NOT CLOSE, HAD TO DRIVE TO MY JOB HOLDING DOOR WITH ONE HAND TO KEEP FROM FALLING OUT, CALLED BMW RECALL TEAM AND THEY SAID ITS NOTHING THEY CAN DO FOR ME BUT IT IS A KNOW FACTOR.
I WAS DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AND COMING DOWN THE RAMP WHERE I SLOWED DOWN TO GO AROUND RAMP AND WHEN I GOT TO THE BOTTOM OF RAMP I PRESSED ON THE GAS PEDAL TO PICK UP SPEED AND I HEARD A WHISTLING NOISE AND THAT'S WHEN THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT CAME ON AND THE CAR SLOWED DOWN ON ITS ON AS WELL AS THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING.

A WARNING MESSAGE IS INFORMING ME THAT THE (FAULT IN PASS-RESTRAINT SYSTEM AFFECTING AIRBAG, BELT TENSIONER OR BELT FORCE LIMITER) NEEDS TO BE CHECK.
WHILE DRIVING ABOUT 20 MILES PER HOUR APPROACHING A STOP, THE CAR SHIFTED INTO NEUTRAL AND ON THE DASH INDICATED THE GEAR IS NOW "N", THEN STEERING WHEEL LOCKED AND I COULD NOT TURN TO PULL OFF THE ROAD. THIS WAS DANGEROUS AS I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD. AFTER TURNING OFF THE CAR, TURNING IT BACK ON, THE PROBLEM DISAPPEARS. IF THIS FAULT HAPPENS ON A HIGHWAY, IT CAN CAUSE A FATAL ACCIDENT IF THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS AND GEAR SHIFTS TO NEUTRAL. BRAKE VACUUM PUMP BOOSTER HAS FAILED DUE TO CONTAMINATION EVEN AFTER BRAKE BOOSTER SUPPLY LINE WAS REPLACED IN DECEMBER, 4, 2010. WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, THE CAR LOSES POWER TO BRAKES, BRAKE PEDAL FEELS HARD AND VEHICLE TAKES 20-30 FT LONGER TO BRAKE EVEN IF PUSHING DOWN WITH MAXIMUM FORCE. THIS CAUSED VEHICLE TO TAKE AN INFINITE AMOUNT OF TIME TO STOP, WHICH RESULTED IN CAR NEARLY RUNNING INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE WHEN ISSUE OCCURRED. LUCKILY I SWERVED OFF HIGHWAY UNTO MEDIAN. THIS ISSUE CAN RESULT IN DEATH OR CATASTROPHIC ACCIDENT AS BRAKE BOOSTER VACUUM PUMP IS AFFECTED IN SUCH A WAY THAT BRAKE POWER IS 50% LESS THAN NORMAL, LOW TO NEGLIGIBLE BRAKE POWER MEANS CAR DOES NOT STOP NORMALLY, IT TAKES MORE TIME TO STOP, WHICH CAN LEAD TO DEATH FROM REAR END COLLISIONS, FREAK ACCIDENTS AND EVEN RUNNING INTO PERSONS OR OBJECTS WHEN PARKING.
GOT IN CAR THIS MORNING AND CAR WOULD NOT GO INTO DRIVE OR REVERSE.
PRE-OWNED VEHICLE -TRANSMISSION ISSUE WHICH IS NOT MECHANICAL...VEHICLE DID NOT SHIFT TO REVERSE FROM PARK. LOCAL BMW DEALER SAYS NEW TRANSMISSION IS NEEDED. RESEARCH INDICATES IT TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE VEHICLE ELECTRONICS (SOLENOID) WHICH SENDS SHIFT SIGNAL TO THE TRANSMISSION. BMW WILL NOT SAY THIS IS AN INHERENT ISSUE WITH ITS PRODUCT AS EVIDENCED BY THE NUMBER OF SIMILAR COMPLAINTS. WHEN VEHICLE IS IN MOTION ON ANY ROADWAY AT 40-55 MPH, A SERIES OF FAULT CODES ARE DISPLAYED ON THE DASHBOARD [TRANSMISSION FAULT-DRIVE MODERATELY], AND SUBSEQUENTLY THE VEHICLE WILL STALL AND NOT ENGAGE INTO GEAR. EFFORTS TO PROVE THAT THIS IS NOT OWNER/CONSUMER RESPONSIBILITY DUE TO THE INTERNAL NATURE OF THE FAULT(S) ARE NOT ACCEPTED BY THE BMW DEALER/COMPANY. THE COST OF COMPANY STATED REPAIRS ($3500-$8000) ARE BEYOND WHAT THE VALUE OF THE VEHICLE IS AND FINANCIAL ABILITY TO PAY.

I JUST PURCHASED A 2006 BMW 750I. BEAUTIFUL CAR. I SAW THAT IT HAD A RECALL. SO I TOOK IT TO THE BMW DEALERSHIP IN CHARLOTTE NC NORTHLAKE TO GET IT CHECKED OUT BECAUSE I JUST BOUGHT THE VEHICLE. I TOLD THEM ABOUT THE RECALL AND THEY SAID THEY WOULD CHECK IT. IT'S THE YEAR 2016 AND THEY TELL ME THAT THE RECALL WAS FOR 10 YEARS AND THAT THEY WOULDNT REPAIR THE PROBLEM. MY CAR IS 10 YEARS OLD AND I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY THEY WONT REPAIR IT. AND ITS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM FOR ME AND MY FAMILY. THE AIRBAG IS A VERY SERIOUS RECALL. WAS JUST HOPING THAT I COULD GET SOME HELP WITH THIS ISSUE. I DONT FEEL AS IF I SHOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS ON SUCH A SERIOUS DEFECT. AND IT WAS A RECALL FOR A REASON

THE CONTACT NOTIFIED BMW OF NORTH AMERICA LLC (300 CHESTNUT RIDGE RD, WOODCLIFF LAKE, NJ 07677 800-831-1117) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AS PART OF A RECALL. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL AND THE CONTACT WOULD NEED TO PAY A FEE FOR REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS NOT PART OF A RECALL AND THAT THE CONTACT WOULD NEED TO CONTACT A DEALER. THE RECALL DETAILS WERE NOT PROVIDED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.

DRAINAGE HOLES CLOG AND LEAKS IN TRUNK WHERE AIR COMPRESSOR FOR SUSPENSION AND OTHER IMPORTANT ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO WATER DAMAGE.
TROUBLE LIGHT SHOWS-- PASSENGER RESTRAINT SYSTEM. MY MECHANIC DIAGNOSED IT AS A DEFECTIVE SEAT MODULE SENSOR IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. HIS COST OF REPAIR IS $1,200 WITH NO ASSURANCES THAT THE PROBLEM WILL BE RESOLVED DUE TO THE TAKATA AIR BAG RESPONSE TO THIS SENSOR.
WHILE STOPPING, THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME EXTREMELY HARD AND WENT TO THE FLOOR, JUST BARELY AVOIDING A CATASTROPHE. THIS HAPPENED WITH NO WARNING WHATSOEVER, AND THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A MULTIPLE DEATH ACCIDENT. I CONTACTED BMW OF NA AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. I CLEARLY SHOULD BE, BECAUSE I KNOW I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE THIS PROBLEM.

PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT LATCH. THE PASSENGER DOOR OPENED ON THE HIGHWAY AND MY KID ALMOST FLEW OUT OF THE CAR. THE DOOR WILL NOT SHUT CLOSE & IT REMAINS OPEN. THERE IS A DEFECT WITH THE LATCHING MECHANISM.

HARD TO START, IDLES ROUGH AND SOMETIMES DIES WHEN SITTING AT STOP LIGHT. WHEN TAKING OFF, IT STALLED WHILE DRIVING AND LOST TOTAL POWER FOR STEERING AND OTHER CONTROLS, VERY DANGEROUS. WE WERE LUCKY THAT WE WERE NOT ON THE FREEWAY. I KNOW BMW HAS HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE HIGH PRESSURE FUEL PUMPS. MY CAR HAS 130000 MILES AND AFTER SPENDING OVER $4000 AT THE LOCAL BMW FOR THE SAME ISSUE, NOW THEY WANT AN EXTRA $6000 FOR THE HPFP. MY CAR IS SITTING AT THEIR SHOPS, NOT SAFE TO DRIVE AND THEY REFUSE TO FIX IT. IS THERE A RECALL OR ANYTHING THEY CAN BE DONE? THANK YOU. *TR

TAKATA RECALL WAS DRIVING MY 750 LI AFTER ABOUT 15 MINUTES I STOPPED AT A FRIEND HOUSE TO CHAT. TEN MINUTES LATER I WAS LEAVING WALK TO CAR CRUNCK UP PUT IN GEAR AND IT JUMPED BACK TO PARK I TRIED REVERSE IT JUMP BACK TO PARK SO I CUT OFF. SO I SAT THERE AND AFTER MAYBE 30-45 MINUTES STARTED BACK UP AND IT DROVE FINE.

THE CONTACT WOULD HAVE TO SHIFT THE GEAR INTO REVERSE OR DRIVE SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE THE GEAR LOCKED AND PERFORMED THE DESIRED ACTION. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION VALVE BODY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V502000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM, POWER TRAIN). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 151,000.

MY CAR IS NOT GETTING INTO GEAR. IT STOP AT RED LIGHTS AND DID NOT MOVE WHEN SHIFTING TO GEAR IT AUTOMATICALLY GOES BACK TO PARKING. SOME TIME IT LOOKS ITS GOING TO GO BUT THEN IT GOES BACK TO PARK AGAIN. AFTER WHILE IT GOES IN NEUTRAL AND I WAS ABLE TO PUSH NEARBY PARKING AREA.NOW I AM TOWING TO DEALER.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS CONFIRMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS UNDER THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE BRAKE CLAMP AND VACUUM PIPE WERE REPLACED.
