TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED WITH THE COMFORT ACCESS AND SOFT CLOSE AUTOMATIC DOORS; HOWEVER, THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR DID NOT LATCH UNTIL AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THERE WAS A RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 12V504000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES) BUT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INSPECTED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 135,000.
STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND AS I WAS SLOWING DOWN THE CAR JERKED AS IF IT WAS BEING HIT FROM THE REAR.. FOLLOWING THE LIGHT CHANGE, I GOT A HESITANT PULL OFF AND KNOCKING OR THE CAR SEEMED TO SKIP OR AS IF GEAR WAS SLIPPING. *TR 2ND TIME CAR WAS PUT IN D AND JUMPED OUT OF GEAR AND HEARD A LOUD THUD AS IF CAR WAS BEING REAR ENDED. 3RD TIME I WAS APPROACHING A STOP SIGNAL WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 30 MPH AND THE TRANSMISSION BEGAN TO DOWNSHIFT WITH A LOUD BANGING NOISE. THE DEALER CANNOT REPLICATE THIS ISSUE AT IS RANDOM, BUT OTHER BMW OWNERS HAVE NOTED THE SAME ISSUE. IT IS POSSIBLE TO GET A NECK INJURY FROM THIS "VIOLENT.
WE WERE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AND THE VEHICLE JUST WENT IN GEAR ON ITS OWN. I ALSO COULDN'T GET THE CAR TO GO IN GEAR. CAR STILL DOES NOT RUN RIGHT. TRANSMISSION ISN'T RIGHT, WHEN VEHICLE IS STARTED IT JUST KICKS BACK IN NEUTRAL AND WILL NOT GO IN DRIVE OR REVERSE. DEALER CAN'T SEEM TO FIX NOR CAN THEY TELL ME ANYTHING THAT THEY CAN DO TO FIX OTHER THAT BUYING NEW TRANSMISSION. I HAVE ONLY HAD THE CAR FOR 6 MONTHS AND ALL SERVICE WORK WAS DONE AT BMW OF SARASOTA. I HAVE ONLY PUT 4,050 MILES ON VEHICLE SINCE NOVEMBER AND I HAVE NOT HAD THE VEHICLE SINCE APRIL BECAUSE THEY CAN'T SEEM TO FIX CAR. *TR
I HAD MY CAR TO THE HUNTERDON BMW DEALERSHIP 8 TIMES FOR MY CAR REFUSING TO LEAVE NEUTRAL. THEIR FACTORY BMW ENGINEERS CHECKED THE CAR TWICE AND FOUND NO PROBLEMS, THE MECHANICS COULD NEVER FIND THE PROBLEM. THEY JUST KEPT REPROGRAMMING THE COMPUTERS TILL IT RAN. I FINALLY GAVE UP SINCE BMW REFUSED TO HELP ME. I TRADED THE CAR IN ON 4/1/13 BECAUSE I FEARED IT WOULD STOP RUNNING AGAIN, AND BOUGHT A CADILLAC. THE PROBLEM WITH THIS IS I RECEIVED PEANUTS FOR MY CAR BECAUSE OF IT HISTORY, NO DEALERS WANTED IT, THEY KNEW IT WAS A LEMON. SO BMW SOLD ME A LEMON AND I ENDED UP WITH A WORTHLESS CAR, AND A YEAR LATER THEY ADMIT IT WAS A PROBLEM. THEY KNEW ALL ALONG BY THE HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS THAT THEY HAD A PROBLEM, AND IGNORED IT. THERE WERE HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE ON WEB PAGES COMPLAINING, AND ALL OF THEM WERE IGNORED BY BMW. *TR
CAR SHIFT FROM DRIVE TO NUETRAL. HAD TO TURN ENGINE OFF RESTART TO GET IT TO MOVE. CAR WENT INTO SAFETY MODE. TRANSMISSION FAULT. *TR
THE CAR WAS AND IS KNOCKING WHEN TAKING OFF FROM STOP. IT FEELS I GET REAR ENDED. ALSO RANDOMLY GOES IN REVERSE WHEN IN PARK OR DOES NOT GO TO REVERSE AT ALL. ALSO AT TIMES GO TO REVERSE WHEN TRYING TO GO INTO DRIVE SHIFT. WHEN THE CAR IS COLD GOING TO REVERSE MAKING A LOUD CLUNKY SOUND. DEALER IS DENYING ANY PROBLEM. IT IS IN ANOTHER SHOP AND NOT FIXED YET. *TR

ON SAID DATE I WAS SITTING IDLE WHILE TALKING ON MY CELL PHONE. THE CAR WAS IN PARK. IT WAS COLD IN CAR SO I WENT TO TURN THE HEAT UP AND WHEN I DID THE VEHICLE WENT INTO NEUTRAL AND STARTED TO ROLL. I THEN STOPPED THE CAR AND TURNED IT OFF. I THEN RESTARTED THE CAR AND WENT TO TURN THE HEAT ON ONCE AGAIN AND THE VEHICLE ONCE AGAIN WENT INTO NEUTRAL. I THEN CALLED BMW AND ADVISED THEM OF WHAT HAPPENED. THE VEHICLE WAS ALREADY SCHEDULED FOR A ROUTINE SERVICE THE FOLLOWING WEEK. ON 2/22/13 I WAS PARKED IN A PARKING LOT AND WAS EXITING THE CAR TO STEP OUT FOR JUST A MOMENT WHEN THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO ROLL. I LOOKED AND THE VEHICLE WAS IN NEUTRAL. I HAD TO TURN VEHICLE OFF TO GET IT INTO PARK. *TR

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE ENGINE REVVED AND WENT INTO A COASTING MODE THEN THE WARNING TRANSMISSION FAULT DRIVE MODERATE LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE ENGINE WAS SHUT DOWN AND RESTARTED AND THE TRANSMISSION RESET ITSELF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST BUT COULD NOT FIND ANY FAILURES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR OPENED INDEPENDENTLY AND WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN DIAGNOSED THAT THE SOFT CLOSE AUTOMATIC DOOR FUNCTION SOFTWARE FAILED. AS A RESULT, THE DOOR LATCH NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE SOFTWARE NEEDED TO BE REPROGRAMMED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 12V504000 ( LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES ). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 98,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 98,400.

ON ANOTHER OCCASION, WHILE DRIVING UP A HILL, THE TIRES SPUN BUT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO DRIVE. THE FAILURE RECURRED MULTIPLE TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER BUT THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DETERMINED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
2006 BMW 750LI I ENCOUNTERED A PROBLEM THAT COULD HAVE RESULTED IN A CATASTROPHIC INCIDENT. I AM CURRENTLY IN MISSISSIPPI TRAINING SOLDIERS FOR AN UPCOMING DEPLOYMENT TO AFGHANISTAN. PLEASE READ BELOW AND ADVISE OF WHAT SERVICE AND HELP BMWUSA COULD PROVIDE. THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE AND I THANK GOD NO ONE HAS BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED. 18 JAN 2013 CAR WAS PUT IN D AND JUMPED OUT OF GEAR AND HEARD A LOUD THUD AS IF CAR WAS BEING REAR ENDED. CAR ROLLED FORWARD ABOUT 5 FEET IN THE STREET. I SAT IN THE CAR TRYING TO GET IT IN GEAR. CARS HAD TO MANEUVER AROUND ME AS I SAT THERE UNABLE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE STREET. 19 JAN 2013 DROVE TO CAR WASH, I PULLED UP TO VACUUM AND PUT CAR IN P, TURNED OFF IGNITION. REMOVED KEY AND PUT ON SEAT. AS I OPENED THE DOOR TO EXIT CAR AND WAS STEPPING OUT CAR, THE GEAR ENGAGED AND ROLLED BACK. I LOST MY BALANCE AND WAS ABLE TO REGAIN COMPOSURE AND JUMP BACK IN CAR AND PRESS THE BREAK. 20 JAN 2013. STARTED CAR UP THIS MORNING AND EVERYTHING SEEMED FINE. SO I DROVE TO JACKSON MS TO HERRIN GEAR BMW. I PARKED MY CAR GOT OUT AND WALKED AROUND. ONCE I GOT BACK IN MY CAR I STARTED IT UP, PUT IN D, ATTEMPTED TO DRIVE OFF AND CAR JUMPED OUT OF D WENT TO N AND I HEARD A LOUD THUD. AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO PUT CAR IN GEAR, I TURNED OFF AND SAT THERE IN DISGUST. ABOUT 20 MINUTES LATER I WAS ABLE TO START AND DRIVE TO A NEAR BY GAS STATION TO FUEL MY CAR. ONCE I PAID FOR GAS, AGAIN STARTED TO PUT CAR IN D AND IT WOULD NOT GO IN GEAR. ONE THE CAR WENT IN GEAR IT WAS HESITANT TO MOVE AND HAD A DELAY BEFORE PULLING OFF. STOPPED AT A LIGHT AND AS I WAS SLOWING DOWN THE CAR JERKED AS IF IT WAS BEING HIT FROM THE REAR.. THE VEHICLE JERKS WHEN GOING FROM STOP TO DRIVE. AT TIMES IT IS SO SEVERE THAT I THINK THE CAR HAS BEEN HIT FROM BEHIND. ALSO MOVES VERY SLOWLY WHEN PROCEEDING FROM STOP TO DRIVE. THIS PROBLEM IS LESS NOTICEABLE WHILE ON THE HIGHWAY GOING AT FIXED SPEED. THE PROBLEM IS DURING TRAFFIC DRIVE. HAVE BEEN STRUGGLING WITH THIS ISSUE FOR APPROXIMATELY THREE YEARS. DEALER UNABLE TO REPLICATE PROBLEM; HOWEVER AS SOON AS I DRIVE CAR, IT IMMEDIATELY KICKS. GETTING WORSE WITH TIME. ANOTHER PROBLEM IS THE DOOR LATCHES. ALL MY DOOR LATCHES ARE FAULTY. THE REAR PASSENGER CANNOT BE OPENED FROM INSIDE AND IF OPENED FROM OUTSIDE, YOU RUN THE RISK OF IT NOT LOCKING AT ALL. ALL DOORS HAVE SIMILAR ISSUES.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 135,000.
2006 BMW 750I. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO THE SOFT CLOSE AUTOMATIC DOOR RECALL NOTICE. *SMD THE CONSUMER BELIEVED HIS VEHICLE WAS AFFECTED BY RECALL#12V504000. THE CONSUMER STATED THE SOFT CLOSE AUTOMATIC DOOR FUNCTION ON HIS VEHICLE STARTED MALFUNCTIONING IN EARLY JANUARY 2013. BOTH THE DRIVER'S DOOR AS WELL AS THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR FAILED TO LATCH PROPERLY. SINCE THE PROBLEM APPEARED SUDDENLY ON TWO DOORS, HE BELIEVED IT WAS A SOFTWARE PROBLEM. *JB

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS WHERE THE TECHNICIAN ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE PASSENGER'S SEAT MAT WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THERE WAS AN INVESTIGATION FOR THE FAILURE UNDER NHTSA ACTION NUMBER PE07045 (AIR BAGS:FRONTAL:SENSOR/CONTROL MODULE). THE INVESTIGATION WAS UPGRADED TO AN ENGINEERING ANALYSIS AND HAD NOT RESULTED IN A RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 60,000. .... IF THE ENGINE START/STOP BUTTON IS PRESSED 2 OR 3 TIMES WITHIN A SHORT TIME INTERVAL, THE SYSTEM MAY SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION TO NEUTRAL RATHER THAN PARK. 2006 BMW 750 LI. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE OIL LEAK AND MAJOR MECHANICAL PROBLEMS. *SMD THE DEALER AGREED TO FIX THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AFTER THE REPAIRS WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL BUT THE BRAKES DID NOT RESPOND. THE CONTACT CONTINUALLY APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKE PEDAL UNTIL THE BRAKES RESPONDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING WHERE THE MECHANIC REPLACED THE REAR BRAKES AND ROTORS. THE MECHANIC FOUND CONTAMINATION IN THE BRAKE BOOSTER AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT PER THE RECALL, THE BRAKE BOOSTER COULD BECOME CONTAMINATED OVER TIME DUE TO THE RECALLED FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THE REPAIRS WOULD NOT BE COVERED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,000.
TOOK MY CAR IN TO BE SERVICED AND WAS INFORMED OF THIS LEAK IN THE VACUUM PUMP AND STEERING SWITCH. CONSEQUENTLY, I SEEN THERE WAS A RECALL FOR 2006 BMWS WITH A NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER OF 10V446000 WITH A RECALL DATE OF 2012-10-01 FOR THE VACUUM PUMP. I CALLED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY TOLD ME MY CAR WASN'T INCLUDED.....BUT I BELIEVE IT SHOULD BE. *TR
