THE RIGHT SIDE PASSENGER SOFT AUTO CLOSE LATCH IS NOT WORKING. THE LATCH SOMEHOW TRIES TO UNLOCK WHEN TRYING TO SOFT CLOSE AND DOOR REMAINS OPEN. DOOR HAS TO BE MANUALLY HARD CLOSED DUE TO THIS ISSUE. THIS SEEMS TO BE A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM FOR A $100K CAR. NO UPDATES OR RESET OPTION AVAILABLE ON THE INTERNET. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY GRAND DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL, MY DRIVER'S SIDE LOCK UNLATCHED. BECAUSE I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF MORNING TRAFFIC, I HAD TO HOLD THE DOOR CLOSED WHILE I WAS DRIVING UNTIL I WAS ABLE TO GET OFF THE ROAD AND CALL BMW TO PICK UP THE CAR. *TR
I WENT TO UNLOCK MY BMW 750 LI DRIVER DOOR AND GET IN BUT ONCE I CLOSED IT WOULD NOT LOCK CLOSE AT ALL, NOTHING I DID WORKED. EVENTUALLY HAD TO TAKE MY CHILDREN TO SCHOOL HOLDING THE DRIVER DOOR WITH ONE HAND WHILE DRIVING WITH THE OTHER. NOT SAFE AT ALL. I HAVE THE SOFT CLOSE FEATURE ON MY CAR, SO I NOTICED IT WAS NOT LATCHING ON AFTER A LITTLE DETECTIVE WORK. SO NOT ONLY DOES MY DRIVER DOOR NOT SHUT, BUT I CAN'T EVEN UNLOCK OR LOCK MY DOORS BY EITHER USING THE KEY REMOTE OR THE UNLOCK/LOCK BUTTON INSIDE. VERY DANGEROUS, AND I CAN'T BELIEVE THERE IS NOT BACKUP FOR THE DOORS IF THE SOFT CLOSE FEATURE IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I'VE HAD ISSUES WITH THE SOFT CLOSE DOORS, ON THE DRIVER SIDE REAR DOOR I HAVE ISSUES WITH AS WELL. I HAVE TO HOLD THE HANDLE OUT AND CLOSE FOR THE SOFT CLOSE FEATURE TO "CATCH" THE DOOR. VERY UNSAFE AND REQUIRES A RECALL. *TR UPDAATE COMP CODE TO LOATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES.*PCO
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER REAR DOORS OPENED INDEPENDENTLY AND WITHOUT ANY WARNINGS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM BUT DID NOT OFFER ANY ASSISTANCE SINCE THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 101,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO DRIVE, BUT THE GEAR SHIFT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN PARK. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHEN SHIFTING INTO PARK, THE GEAR SHIFT INDICATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS IN DRIVE. THE DEALER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE MANUFACTURER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS ADDRESSING THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 64,000.
HAVE A 2006 BMW 750I AND WAS OUT RUNNING ERRANDS. I STOPPED AT THE DRY CLEANERS TO GET MY CLOTHING. I ONLY TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF FOR ABOUT 10 MINUTES WHILE I WENT INSIDE THE DRY CLEANERS. I PAID FOR MY ITEMS AND WENT TO RESTART THE ENGINE BUT WHEN I PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE NO MOVEMENT HAPPENED. I SHUT THE VEHICLE DOWN COMPLETELY AND RESTARTED IT. I PUT THE VEHICLE IN R FOR REVERSE AND IT SWITCHED BACK TO P FOR PARK. THE VEHICLE AGAIN WAS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED AND IT DID THE SAME THING NOTHING. I CALLED MY SPOUSE AND HE WAS ABLE TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN REVERSE BY EDGING THE VEHICLE WHILE IN REVERSE MODE. WHILE MY SPOUSE WAS BACKING OUT OF THE PARKING SPACE THE VEHICLE JERKED. I OFTEN NOTICE THAT IF I PARK ON A HILL AND GO IN REVERSE THE VEHICLE JERKS AND MAKES A LOUD NOISE I JUST HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED RECENTLY AND ACCORDING TO THE INSPECTION THAT THE BMW SERVICE DID THE TRANSMISSION IS GOOD. *TR

I OWN A 2006 BMW 750LI. I STARTED HAVING PROBLEMS WITH MY DRIVER SIDE DOOR SEVERAL WEEKS AGO. MY DRIVER DOOR WOULD NOT SHUT. YESTERDAY, I WAS AT THE GROCERY STORE, WENT BACK TO MY CAR, USED THE REMOTE AND THE DOOR OPENED. GOT INTO MY CAR AND MY DOOR WOULD NOT SHUT. I TRIED TO USE THE AUTOMATIC LOCK AND IT DID NOT WORK. I USED THE KEY ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND WAITED UNTIL I HEARD IT CATCH, THIS REENGAGED MY LOCK SO I WAS ABLE TO CLOSE THE DOOR. *TR UPDATE COMP CODE TO LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES. *PCO
TRANSMISSION FAILED AND WOULD NOT ENGAGE D1, D2, D3. UNABLE TO MOVE CAR FORWARD.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE PARKING BRAKE WOULD NOT LATCH, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ROLL AWAY WHEN PARKED AND SHUT OFF. IN ADDITION, THE AUTOMATIC DOOR LATCH WAS INOPERABLE AND WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH, HE HAD TO HOLD THE DRIVER SIDE DOOR TO KEEP IT FROM OPENING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHO ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO RECALLS FOR THE VEHICLE AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 67,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. WHILE TRAVELING AT 15 MPH FROM A STOP, THE VEHICLE JERKED HEAVILY WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAILED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION FAULT WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED AND INITIATED THE SAFE MODE ERRONEOUSLY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN THE FAILURE OCCURRED, THE VEHICLE WOULD DECELERATE AND COULD NOT REGAIN POWER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WERE THE FAULT CODES WERE RESET. THE DEALER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT IF THE FAILURE HAPPENED TO RECUR, THE TRANSMISSION WOULD NEED TO BE REPLACED. THE CONTACT BELIEVED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY AN ELECTRICAL ISSUE BASED ON THE SYMPTOMS THE VEHICLE WAS EXHIBITING. THE DEALER HOWEVER, DISAGREED AND STATED THAT ACCORDING TO THE DIAGNOSTIC RESULTS, THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE TRANSMISSION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 61,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 63,000. AFTER RECEIVING A RECALL LETTER FROM BMW FOR THE BRAKE VACUUM PUMP (RECALL CAMPAIGN NO. 10V-446), I TOOK THE CAR TO CREVIER BMW BUT WAS TOLD THEY DIDN'T HAVE THE PART. NEVER HEARD BACK FROM CREVIER BMW, FORGOT ABOUT IT UNTIL THE BRAKES COMPLETELY FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. HAD THE CAR TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALER IN IRVINE. THEY REPLACED THE VACUUM SUPPLY LINE BUT NOT THE VACUUM PUMP. THEY RECOMMENDED I REPLACE THE LEAKING VACUUM PUMP AT MY COST OF OVER $900.THE DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM INCLUDED IN THE RECALL LETTER FROM BMW SPECIFICALLY INDICATES THAT THE LEAK FROM THE VACUUM PUMP INTO THE VACUUM HOSE, IS THE ROOT OF THE PROBLEM. I SPOKE TO J, MCCLAIN AT BMW AND SHE SAID THAT THE RECALL IS A FEDERAL MANDATE AND THIS MANDATE ONLY REQUIRES THEM TO REPLACE THE LINE NOT THE PUMP. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 15 MPH, SHE APPLIED THE BRAKES, BUT THE BRAKES DID NOT RESPOND. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO STOP THE VEHICLE AND HAD IT TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER, VACUUM SUPPLY LINE, AND BRAKE BOOSTER WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED UNDER THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 10V446000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC:POWER ASSIST:VACUUM). THE TECHNICIAN ALSO STATED THAT THE VACUUM PUMP WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED, BUT IT WAS NOT COVERED UNDER THE RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE RECALL INDICATED THAT THE VACUUM PUMP WAS THE SOURCE OF THE FAILURE AND IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 119,000.

THE CONTACT FOUND A RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 06V277000 (SUSPENSION: REAR SHOCK ABSORBER), BUT WAS INFORMED BY THE MANUFACTURER THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BMW 750LI. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO PARK AT APPROXIMATELY 5 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ABNORMALLY. THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO THE WALL OF A HOME AND BOTH THE CONTACT AND A PASSENGER SUSTAINED MINOR NECK INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO BODY SHOP FOR REPAIRS. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE VEHICLE HAS HAD A DEAD BATTERY NUMEROUS TIMES WITH DEALERSHIP DIAGNOSING REAR TRUNK LOCK, THEN REAR DOOR HKLMODULE, THEN REENCODE VEHICLE,, BATTERY REPLACED TWICE, WAS NOT RETROFITTED CORRECTLY, REDONE, CONTINUED TO HAVE DEAD BATTERY REQUIRING JUMP STARTING, SUBMITTED CASE #29008954 TO REPLACE VEHICLE, DENIED. REPLACED DME AND PROGRAMMED VEHICLE, CAS,LM AND DME FAILED DURING PROGRAMMING. RESET BATTERY AND REPROGRAMMED UNTIL PASSED TEST. ON 8/23.2011 AGAIN CAR WOULD NOT START, JUMP STARTED WITH TRANSMISSION FAULT LIGHT ON...CALLED BMW AND THEY SAID TO DRIVE IN TO DEALERSHIP. DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY AT 75MPH, THE VEHICLE JOLTED AND FALTERED SO CALLING I PULLED OVER 6 LANES TO SIDE OF FWY TO CALL DEALERSHIP THAT IT WAS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE. THEY TOWED IN. DIAGNOSED FOR 2-3 WEEKS AND RETURNED. PROBLEM WITH DEAD BATTERY HAS CONTINUED TO THIS DATE WHERE I KEEP A POWERFUL BATTERY CHARGER IN THE CAR. IT WOULD NOT START ON A PUBLIC STREET SO BMW SAID TO DRIVE IN TO DEALERSHIP AGAIN AND ARE NOW DIAGNOSING. INITIALLY CALLED AFTER 4 DAYS TO SAY IT WAS A BAD BATTERY WHICH IS NOT THE CASE AS IT IS EVIDENTLY AN ONGOING ELECTRICAL OR SOFTWARE MALFUNCTION DRAINING THE BATTERY. I HAVE REQUESTED THIS VEHICLE BE PURCHASED BACK BY BMW OR SOME RESOLUTION AS I NO LONGER TRUST OR FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE. I AM NOW WAITING A RESPONSE FROM THE DEALERSHIP. *TR
I HAVE HAD MY CAR IN FOR SERVICE FOR AN PROBLEM, THAT WHEN MOVING FROM STOP AT AN RED LIGHT/ STOP SIGN. IT SEEN AS IF I'M BEING HIT FROM THE REAR, THIS THE SECOND TIME IT HAS BEEN THERE FOR THE SAME ISSUE. FIRST THEY COULD NOT FIND ANY PROBLEM, SECOND TIME THEY WANTED 1400.00 DOLLAR TO REPAIR THE CAR, BUT AFTER AN CALL TO THE SERVICE MANGER. THERE AN SERVICE BULLETIN ON THE PROBLEM. AFTER REPLACING DMV, THEY SAID THAT THIS WOULD FIX THE ISSUE, ON THE HOME AT AN ROLLING STOP WHERE THE RED LIGHT TURN GREEN (LESS 5 MPH ) WHEN GAS PEDAL WAS PUSH THE CLUNK RETURNED. *TR

A FEW HOURS LATER, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS AGAIN RAISED TO ITS NORMAL POSITION. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED WITH AN AIR SUSPENSION SYSTEM. THE FAILURE RECURRED ON AN INTERMITTENT BASIS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH NHTSA CAMPAIGN ID NUMBER 06V277000 (SUSPENSION:REAR:SHOCK ABSORBER). THERE IS AN OPEN RECALL FOR THIS VEHICLE REGARDING SUSPENSION PROBLEMS WHICH MY VEHICLE DOES NOT FALL UNDER DUE TO VIN SPECIFICATIONS MY VEHICLE HAS EXPERIENCED THE SAME PROBLEMS. BMW REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE RECALL FOR REAR SUSPENSION PROBLEMS. MY VEHICLE HAS BEEN INOPERABLE FOR OVER 5 MONTHS DUE TO THE DEFECT. I NEED IMMEDIATE HELP. *TR
I WANT TO START BY SAYING, I HAVE OWNED 7 SERIES SINCE 1991, MY FIRST PURCHASE WAS THE 735I, 745 AND NOW THE 750I. THE 750I IS BY FAR A MUCH BETTER DRIVING MACHINE, HOWEVER WITH ALL THE PROBLEMS I HAVE HAD WITH IT, I WISH I WOULD HAVE KEPT MY 745I!!! IT'S BEEN ONE PROBLEM AFTER ANOTHER! NOW, I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH THE CAR ROLLING FORWARD OR BACKWARDS WHILE PARK!! IF YOU HIT THE START/STOP BUTTON IT WOULD GO INTO PARK (THE INDICATED "P" LIGHTS UP) BUT THEN THE CAR ROLLS FORWARD DEPENDING ON IF YOU ARE PARK ON A INCLINE/DECLINE. SINCE THAT STARTED, NOW I GET A MESSAGE STATING ?TRANSMISSION FAULT? AND IT WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF 2ND GEAR!!! THE SELF-CLOSE DRIVER SIDE DOOR WORKS WHEN IT WANTS TOO!!! AT THIS POINT, I WILL NOT ALLOW MY WIFE TO DRIVE THE CAR FOR FEAR THAT SHE WILL GET HURT WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR! IT ACTUALLY ROLLED INTO MY GARAGE DOOR WHILE SITTING IN THE GARAGE!!! I AM SURE THAT I?M NOT THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS PROBLEM, THIS NEEDS TO BE CORRECT IMMEDIATELY! I HAVE COMPLAINT TO SEVERAL INDIVIDUALS WITHIN BMW AND NO ACTIONS SEEMS TO BE TAKEN TO HELP REMEDY THIS PROBLEM. I HAVE SPENT OVER $10K IN REPAIRS AND CONTINUE TO HAVE PROBLEMS!!!! *TR

THE TRANSMISSION FAULT WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ON NUMEROUS OCCASIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE FAILURE WAS UNABLE TO BE DUPLICATED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 160,000.

WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH OVER A BUMP, THE SUSPENSION CAUSED DAMAGE TO SEVERAL COMPONENTS. THE CONTACT STATED THE SHOCK ABSORBER MALFUNCTIONED DUE TO A LOOSE BUSHING. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING A NHTSA CAMPAIGN I.D. NUMBER 06V277000 (SUSPENSION:REAR:SHOCK ABSORBER) WHO STATED THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL DUE TO THE VIN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.

I AM THE OWNER OF A 2006 BMW 760 LI, PURCHASED IN LATE 2008 FROM A GEORGIA DEALERSHIP AND SHIPPED TO HONOLULU. MY WIFE IS THE PRIMARY AND DAILY USER OF SAID VEHICLE. CURRENTLY, I'M SO AFRAID FOR MY WIFE, PASSENGERS AND MYSELF WHEN ENTERING THIS VEHICLE DUE TO IT'S UNSAFE AND HAZARDOUS STATE. I DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO OR IF I HAVE A RIGHT TO BUT, I'M HOPING FOR ASSISTANCE TO HAVE MY VEHICLE OPERATING AGAIN IN PROPER WORKING CONDITION. THE FOLLOWING COMPLAINTS ARE WITH BMW OF HONOLULU (BOH) SERVICE DEPARTMENT. I CHOSE BOH BECAUSE I THOUGHT THEY WERE THE MOST REPUTABLE AND BEST QUALIFIED BMW SERVICE CENTER HERE IN HAWAII, SO I THOUGHT. NOTHING HOLDS THE DOOR CLOSED AND AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE DOOR SWINGS OPEN AND HAS TO BE HELD CLOSE BY THE DRIVER'S HAND. WHEN THE DOOR WON'T LATCH THE KEY FOB AND THE INTERIOR ELECTRIC LOCK BUTTONS DO NOT WORK. THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE THE FACTORY IGNORES STATING THE CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY AND ANY REPAIR MUST BE PAID FOR BY THE OWNER. ELECTRONIC DOOR LATCHES MUST BE DESIGNED TO LAST THE LIFE OF THE CAR. ON NOV 29, 2010 I TOOK MY CAR INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR STANDARD MAINTENANCE AS WELL AS TO INVESTIGATE LEAKS THAT WERE OCCURRING. THE DEALERSHIP NOTIFIED ME THAT THERE WAS A RECALL THAT THEY NEEDED TO PERFORMANCE MAINTENANCE ON AS WELL RELATED TO THE BRAKES. LEAKS WERE REPAIRED, RECALL WORK (BRAKE LINE AND VACUUM PIPE) COMPLETED. ON MAR 3, 2011 ALL POWER ASSIST TO MY BRAKES FAILED WHILE BACKING UP AND NEARLY COLLIDED WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. WHEN I TOOK THIS TO THE DEALERSHIP THEY TOLD ME THAT IT WOULD BE $1,000 TO REPLACE THE MASTER CYLINDER AND BRAKE BOOSTER. WHEN I ASKED WHY THIS WORK WASN'T PERFORMED WHEN THE RECALL MAINTENANCE WAS PERFORMED THEY INDICATED THAT IT WAS NOT REQUIRED. MY WORRY IS THAT OTHER VEHICLE OWNERS WILL BE AT RISK DUE TO INCOMPLETE MAINTENANCE PERFORMED BY BMW WITH MUCH MORE SERIOUS OUTCOMES. THE DOOR DON'T LATCH CORRECTLY, I HAD THE DOOR LATCHES REPLACE IN 2011 AND THEY HAVE BROKEN AGAIN. BMW HAVE A RECALL ON THE DOOR LATCHES FROM 2005 TO 2007. MY CAR IS A 2006, THEY SAY THE DEFECTIVE PART IS NOT IN MY CAR BUT THEY KEY BREAKING. THE RECALL # 12V504000 FOR THE DOOR LATCH. WHICH WE AGREE TO; BEFORE THE ENGINE WAS BROKE DOWN AND THE CAUSE WAS KNOWN WE WERE TOLD THAT REGARDLESS OF WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE ENGINE THEY WERE NOT GOING TO HELP. WE CONTINUED WITH THE BREAK DOWN TO DISCOVER THAT THE ENGINE IS IN FACT BAD AND IT IS "VERY UNUSUAL" FOR THE ENGINE TO BE IN THE SHAPE IT WAS IN. MIND YOU THE ENGINE ONLY HAS 59000 MILES ON IT AND WAS UNDER WARRANTY UP UNTO 50000 MILES. THE 2011 BMW THEY SAY WILL RUN UP 300000 MILES THE AVERAGE BMW ENGINE WILL RUN OVER 200000 MILE AND MY ONLY WENT UP TO 59000 MILE WHICH WAS TIME OF DETERMINING THAT THE ENGINE WAS BAD. THAT ISN'T EVEN A QUARTER OF WHAT BMW ENGINES WILL DO, SO IT IS CLEAR THAT THE ENGINE IS ONE OUT OF THE FEW THAT COME OFF THE LINE WITH MAJOR DEFECTS. I WOULD LIKE BMW TO TAKE RESPONSIBLY FOR THEIR DEFECTED ENGINE AND PAY TO HAVE IT REPLACED. AS OF NOW MY FAMILY AND I ARE HADN'T TO COME OUT OF POCKET FOR AROUND $29,000.00 FOR A NEW ENGINE BECAUSE BMW WILL NOT ASSIST US IN THIS MATTER. THE CAR, WHILE DRIVING, REBOOTED ITS INTERNAL SYSTEMS AND THE CAR HAD A 2-SECOND SHUT-DOWN AND GREATLY REDUCED SPEED AND RESPONSIVENESS. WHEN THE DASHBOARD AND MIDDLE CONSOLE CAME FUNCTIONAL AGAIN, IT DISPLAYED SEVERAL WARNINGS THAT CERTAIN FEATURES (LIKE DYNAMIC DRIVE) WERE SHUT OFF AND THE CAR NEEDS TO GO TO A DEALERSHIP. THIS CAR HAS BEEN PLAGUED WITH "ELECTRONIC" PROBLEMS SINCE ITS PURCHASE AND HAS BEEN IN THE SHOP EVERY TWO WEEKS WITH A SYSTEM FAILING OR SHUTTING OFF. BMW HAS PROPOSED MANY SOLUTIONS BUT HAVE YET TO FIX IT, AND AFTER THE LAST "FIX" THE CAR STARTED TO REBOOT ITSELF AND TURN OFF SAFETY FEATURES. AFTER VIOLENT SWIRLING RIGHT AND LEFT DURING THAT ACTION CAR TOOK A COMPLETE 180 DEGREE TURN AND QUIETLY STOPPED VERY CLOSE TO AND PARALLEL/ADJACENT TO CENTER DIVIDER FACING TO ON COMING TRAFFIC. I WAS SAFE WITHOUT ANY HURT. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED 911 AND THEN I CALLED HOME AND THEN I CALLED MY CONTACT TO WHOM I WAS GOING TO SEE. AFTER HWY PATROL ARRIVED I SAW THAT BOTH THE BACK WHEELS WERE TILTED AT 60 DEGREE ANGLE AND WHEN CAR WAS TAKING 180 DEGREE TURN BUMPER TOUCHED THE CENTER DIVIDING WALL AND CAME OFF. 2006 BMW 750LI. CONSUMER STATES COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKING SYSTEM. *TGW THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO USE THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION TO DOWNSHIFT TO FIRST GEAR. AT THE TIME OF THE BRAKE FAILURE, THERE WAS NO WARNING ON THE ELECTRONIC DASHBOARD TO SUGGEST ANY MALFUNCTION OF THE ENGINE, BRAKE FLUID, FRONT BRAKES ETC. I HAVE A BMW 750LI SEDAN. THE TRANSMISSION IN THIS CAR INTERMITTENTLY BUT APPROXIMATELY 1 TIME PER MONTH HAS A VIOLENT DOWNSHIFT INTO A LOW GEAR. IT SEEMS TO HAPPEN MOST OFTEN WHEN YOU ARE TRAVELING AT SLOW SPEEDS GOING UP A STEEP HILL AND YOU TAKE YOU FOOT OFF THE ACCELERATOR AND THEN START TO ACCELERATE.
