After restarting the vehicle, the vehicle seemed to return to normal functionality; however, the failure had since become a regular failure. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 89,000.
The contact owns a 2005 Buick Lacrosse. The contact stated that the instrument panel was inoperable. The battery was replaced several times however, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the mileage control circuit had malfunctioned. The dealer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle was previously repaired under an unknown recall. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING 50MPH AND THE CAR STALLED AND WENT DOWN TO 20MPH AND IT SHUT OFF. I WAS ABLE TO GET IT STARTED AGAIN AND WAS ONLY ABLE TO GO 20MPH ALL THE WAY HOME. MY CAR INSURANCE APP HAS ENGINE ALERTS AND IT STATED IT IS THE THROTTLE/PEDAL POSITION SENSOR/SWITCH 'D'/'E' VOLTAGE CORRELATION. THE THE ALERT STATED IT WAS URGENT BECAUSE IT DECREASES THE ENGINE PERFORMANCE AND THE ENGINE MAY ENTER LIMP HOME MODE. I WAS VERY LUCKY NO CARS WHERE BEHIND ME WHEN THIS HAPPENED.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE CONTACT WAS CONCERNED ABOUT THE SAFETY OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 09E005000 (STEERING) AS A POSSIBLE SOLUTION TO THE FAILURE HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VIN WAS NOT UNDER RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 24,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO CONKLIN FANGMAN BUICK GMC (LOCATED AT 3200 MAIN ST, KANSAS CITY, MO 64111, (816) 759-0853), WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER AIR BAG NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,421.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DISMISSED THE ISSUE STATING THAT THEY ONLY DEALT WITH NEWER VEHICLES. IGNITION IT STARTS AND IT DONT START I SEE RECALL FOR MY YEAR CAN SOMEONE CONTACT ME TO LET ME KNOW IF I NEED TO HAVE RECALL DONE
WHILE DRIVING THE CAR DOWN THE ROAD IT WILL "RANDOMLY" SHUT OFF. GIVING NO INDICATION OTHER THEN DIMMING LIGHTS. NEITHER THE DEALERSHIP OR THE GARAGE I WENT TO CAN EXPLAIN IT. THE POWER STEERING DOESNT WORK AND HAS ALMOST CAUSED ME TO CRASH ON THE HIGHWAY AND TOWN ROADS.
MY TCS & ABS LIGHTS WILL NOT GO OFF. I AM UNABLE TO GET A LOT OF POWER AFTER STOPPING & MY CRUISE CONTROL WILL NOT ENGAGE. ??? THIS SEEMS TO BE A VERY COMMON PROBLEM IN ALL BUICK LACROSSES. RECALL?????

MY STEERING SEEMS TO BE LOOSE WAY TO MUCH PLAY I'VE TIGHTENED A BOLT ON BOTTOM OF STEERING ARM THING TWICE STILL IS COMING LOOSE DIFFICULT TO STEER ALSO SEEMS TO BE MISSING RUBBER OR DEFECTIVE PRICES .WILL CRASH CAN'T CONTROL CAR .STABILITY CONTROL ISSUES OVER AND OVER ALSO TC. AND AIR BAGS ARE FAULTY.IN MOTION MAJOR STEERING PROB.
I WAS DRIVING MY CAR EVERYTHING WAS PERFECTLY WORKING.I PARKED FOR THE NIGHT BEHIND MY HOUSE NO PROBLEMS. I WENT TO DRIVE MY CAR THE NEXT MORNING AND ALL OF THE DASH GAUGES AS WELL AS THE REVERSE LIGHTS WERE OUT. I TOOK IT TO AN AUTO REPAIR SHOP WITH NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHAT WAS GOING ON. THE CLUSTER PANEL WAS REPLACED WITH NO LUCK OF THE PROBLEM BEING RESOLVED. FUSES WERE REPLACED ALSO. THIS IS NOT ONLY UPSETTING BUT IT IS ALSO DANGEROUS. I CAN NOT AND DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR BECAUSE OF THIS ISSUE. HOW DO I KNOW HOW MUCH GAS I HAVE OR HOW FAST I AM TRAVELING. AFTER DOING SOME RESEARCH, THIS IS A PROBLEM THAT HAS COME UP BEFORE WITH NO SOLUTION. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE ABOUT THIS ISSUE.
MY HEAD LIGHTS WON'T COME ON AND MY AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON AND OFF ALL DAY LONG WHILE DRIVING.
I SMELL SOMETHING LIKE BURNING WIRES. THE TRANSMISSION LIGHT IS ON. AUTOMATIC SHIFTING JERKS. I AM AFRAID OF BEING STRANDED SOMEWHERE. I AM 70 YEARS OLD AND NEED MY CAR TO BE RELIABLE.
THE ANTI BRAKE LOCKING SYSTEM IS BECOMING ACTIVE WHEN DRIVING WITH UNBEARABLE SQUEAKING HAD BRAKES AND ROTORS LOOKED AT AND THEY ARE GOOD
HAD MY DAUGHTER'S 2005 BUICK LACROSSE HDM REPLACED FOR THE RECALL AND 3 MONTHS LATER THE LOW-BEAMS WENT OUT AGAIN. I TOOK THE CAR BACK TO THE DEALER AND THEY SAID THE RECALL WAS DONE AND NOW I WOULD HAVE TO PAY. THE HDM FAILED WHILE MY DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING HOME AT NIGHT.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 BUICK LACROSSE. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE, THE IGNITION SWITCH EXPERIENCED UNINTENDED ROTATION, WHICH CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO SUDDENLY SHUT OFF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LINWOOD BUICK DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE IGNITION LOCK CYLINDER WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 150,000.
WITHIN THE LAST FEW YEARS I HAVE NOTICED THE AIRBAG LIGHT HAS BEEN COMING ON INTERMITTENTLY, EVERY MONTH OR SO FOR A FEW HOURS TO A DAY. IF SOMEONE SITS IN THE FRONT SEAT THEN SNAPS SEAT BELT THEN GETS OUT OF CAR THE SEAT BELT LITE STAYS ON AS IF THE WEIGHT IS OFF.
I MADE A STOP AT THE STOP SIGN ON RIDGE HILL DR AND HICKORY HILL RD. AS I TURN LEFT ON HICKORY HILL RD MY CAR STARTED TO MAKE A LOUD KNOCKING SOUND FROM THE MOTOR. SO I STAYED TRAVELING THE SAME DIRECTION ON HICKORY HILL RD TO THE AUTO ZONE ON THE RIGHT THAT'S LOCATED ON HICKORY HILL RD AND WINCHESTER RD. I PURCHASED IGNITION COILS, WIRES, AND SHARK PLUG FOR MY VEHICLE. I GET ON HICKORY HILL RD HEADING TO RAINES RD. I GET THE RED LIGHT ON HICKORY HILL RD AND RAINES RD I STARTED TO SMELL SOMETHING BURNING INSIDE THE VEHICLE. THE LIGHT TURNS GREEN AS I TRAVEL DOWN HICKORY HILL RD I STARTED TO SEE SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER MY TWO FRONT SEATS. I MADE A RIGHT ON RIDGE HILL DR TO GET OUT THE VEHICLE AT MY RELATIVE HOME. I CALLED A MECHANIC TO DO THE LABOR ON THE VEHICLE JUST IT WAS STILL IN THE SAME CONDITION AFTER THE NEW PARTS. SO I CAME TO MY VEHICLE TO GET MY PERSONAL ITEMS THAT THURSDAY APRIL 20,2017 I NOTICE A DEEP BURN LOCATION ON THE MIDDLE OF THE CARPET. I THEN PULL THE FRONT CARPET UP AND I SEEN EVERYTHING IN THE MIDDLE OF THE VEHICLE WAS BURNED.
THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER STOPPED MOVING WHILE THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS STILL WORKING. THE SPLINES IN THE DRIVER'S SIDE ARM WERE STRIPPED. I TRIED TO FIND A REPLACEMENT ARM, BUT GM HAS DISCONTINUED THE PART & NO AFTERMARKET SUPPLIERS HAVE ONE AVAIALBLE. SEEMS WRONG TO HAVE A 12 YEAR OLD CAR THAT CAN NOT BE DRIVEN IN THE RAIN OR SNOW. GM NEEDS TO KEEP MAKING PARTS OR RELEASE THE PATENT & LET OTHER COMPANIES MAKE THEM.

LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE OUT, ALSO NO DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHTS. THEY GO OUT AT RANDOM, WITHOUT WARNING. REPLACED HDM MODULE, DID NO HELP.

MY CAR SHUTS DOWN WHILE DRIVING. MY DASH WILL DISPLAY "SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM, REDUCED POWER, STARTING DISABLE" I MUST PULL OFF THE ROAD; CAR SHUTS DOWN, NOW IT HAS TROUBLE RESTARTING AFTER THIS OCCURS. MY COMPUTER DOESN'T RETAIN THE CODES FOR THIS ISSUE. MY DEALER MECHANIC & PERSONAL MECHANIC CANNOT FIND THE PROBLEM. HAVE SPENT $1000 WITHIN THE PAST 2 MONTHS ON THIS. STILL NOT FIXED. "TAKATA RECALL" WE BOUGHT A USED 2005 BUICK LACROSSE FOR OUR SON IN APRIL 2016; AT FIRST IT RAN PERFECT AND THEN WE NOTICED A THUMP WHEN CHANGING GEARS (AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION). TWO WEEKS AGO MY SON WAS GOING TO THE STORE AND "DRIVE" STOPPED WORKING. NOW IT IS SITTING IN THE YARD AND WILL ONLY GO INTO 1ST AND 2ND GEAR AND REVERSE. IT WILL NOT GO INTO DRIVE.

THE DEALER DIAGNOSED AND REPLACED THE COIL AND SPARK PLUGS. AFTER THE CONTACT DROVE HOME WITH THE VEHICLE, IT DID NOT START AGAIN AND WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE MECHANIC DIAGNOSED THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE ENGINE CONTROL MODULE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 107,159.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, BUT A FAULT CODE COULD NOT BE RETRIEVED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
RE: NHTSA CAMPAIGN 15V519000 (GM SAFETY RECALL 14291). THIS PROBLEM RESULTS IN FAILURE OF HEADLIGHTS. I RECEIVED LETTER FROM GM IN SEPTEMBER 2015. IT INDICATED THAT A PERMANENT SOLUTION WAS NOT YET AVAILABLE. TODAY I CHECKED WITH GM AND THEY INDICATED THE PERMANENT SOLUTION IS NOT YET AVAILABLE AND FURTHERMORE THEY HAVE NO SCHEDULE FOR COMPLETION. OBVIOUSLY, HEADLIGHT FAILURE IS A SIGNIFICANT SAFETY CONCERN (WHICH HAS HAPPENED TWICE TO ME). FOR GM NOT TO HAVE DEVELOPED A PERMANENT SOLUTION, OR APPARENTLY EVEN A SCHEDULE FOR DOING SO, IS EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING.
MARCH 2016 DROVE CAR OVER LOCAL HIGHWAY TO LOCAL MALL AND PARKED. RETURNED TO CAR AFTER SHOPPING TO HEAD HOME AND CAR WOULD NOT START. APPEARED TO BE DEAD. CALLED TOWING COMPANY. WHEN THEY OPENED THE HOOD TO ATTEMPT TO JUMP START, NOTICED HORRIBLE BURNING SMELL AND TOW DRIVER POINTED OUT THAT WIRES APPEARED BURNED AND SHARED THAT SOMETHING WAS VERY WRONG. TOWED CAR TO OWN REPAIR SHOP. IT WAS FOUND THAT THE FUSE BOX IN THE ENGINE WAS COMPLETED FRIED ALONG WITH THE ATTACHED WIRING AFFECTING THE COMPUTERS, ETC. SUGGESTED CALL TO INSURANCE COMPANY AS WOULD COST THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX AND EVEN THEN NO GUARANTEE IT WOULD WORK PROPERLY AGAIN. INSURANCE COMPANY DECLARED CAR TOTAL LOSS AND WOULD NOT PAY AS IT CAME UNDER THE 'MECHANICAL FAILURE' CLAUSE. UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION FOUND THAT THERE IS A RECALL 14V755 THAT DISPLAYS ONLY WHEN SEARCHING BY VIN. THE RECALL STILL DISPLAYS THAT 'REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE'. ALSO FOUND ENTRIES IN SAFERCAR.GOV OF SAME SITUATION HAPPENING TO OTHERS WITH THE ENGINE CATCHING FIRE. NEVER RECEIVED NOTICE OF THIS RECALL. UNAWARE OF THIS RECALL, WAS HAVING AN ISSUE WITH THE LIGHTS NOT WORKING PROPERLY 8/2015 AND HAD OWN REPAIR SHOP REPLACE THIS MODULE ON 8/2015 WHICH CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. CAR IN OVERALL EXCELLENT CONDITION AND NOW RENDERED USELESS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 BUICK LACROSSE. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE FAILURE OCCURRED ONLY WHEN DRIVING OVER A BUMP IN THE ROAD. IN ADDITION, THE IGNITION SWITCH FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER WHERE THE IGNITION KEY WAS REPLACED, BUT THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS NOT REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 153,043.

THE VEHICLE'S MAIN COMPUTER WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 179,000....UPDATED 06/30/16 *BF *CN
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2005 BUICK LACROSSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ROOF SEALANT WAS FRACTURED AND CAUSED WATER TO LEAK INTO THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THE GEAR SHIFTER WERE DAMAGED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. I BELIEVE MY CAR IS INVOLVED IN THE BUY BACK . I HAVE LEATHER SEATS AND AIRBAG LIGHT ILLUMINATES INTERMITTENTLY WHEN ITEMS ARE PLACED ON SEAT. I HAVE TO SMACK THE PASS SEAT BOTTOM THEN A FEW MOMENTS LATER THE LIGHT GOES OFF I WOULD LIKE INFO ON MY CONCERN DUE TO NO REPLACEMENT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE.
