The contact stated he waited approximately 5 minutes before he was able to restart the vehicle and continue driving to his destination. The contact took the vehicle back to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed with needing the catalytic converter to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact took the vehicle to the independent mechanic and had the catalytic converter replaced. The vehicle was repaired but continued to experience the failure. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BUICK LACROSSE. THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH, SHE HIT A POT HOLE AND THE VEHICLE STALLED. THE VEHICLE COASTED TO THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED AND THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE AS NORMAL. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V355000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM), HOWEVER THE PARTS NEEDED FOR THE REPAIRS WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 110,000.
WE WERE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT AND THE CAR JUST DIED. WE CALLED AAA AND BEFORE THEY GOT THERE THE CAR STARTED UP AGAIN. THEN WE RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FROM GM (RECALL #14299). SINCE PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE ACCORDING TO THE LETTER WE REMOVED EVERYTHING FROM THE KEYCHAIN LEAVING ONLY ONE SINGLE KEY AS INSTRUCTED. HOWEVER, OUR CAR AGAIN DIED ON AUGUST 21, 2014 BUT AFTER A FEW MINUTES STARTED UP AGAIN. TODAY, AUGUST 31, 2014 OUR BUICK DIED AGAIN IN THE LEFT TURN LANE STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT. WE HAD TO BE TOWED HOME BY AAA BECAUSE IT WOULD NOT START AGAIN. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!! WE ARE AN 80 YEAR OLD COUPLE AND WE ONLY HAVE THIS ONE CAR FOR TRANSPORTATION. WE CANNOT KEEP WORRYING ABOUT OUR CAR EVERYTIME WE DRIVE IT, MUCH LESS THE DANGERS OF HAVING AN ACCIDENT WHEN IT STALLS IN THE MOST UNEXPECTED PLACES AND TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 92,300. UPDATED 10/23/14*CN THE CONSUMER STATED THE TRACTION CONTROL FAILED DUE TO THE BARRONS AND ARM DAMAGE TO THE FRONT TIRES, THE WATER PUMP FAILED. THE LIFTERS MADE A LOUD KNOCKING NOISE. THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT RESTART IMMEDIATELY BUT IT DID RESTART AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TO TEST WHICH DID NOT LIST ANY ERROR CODES REGARDING THE VEHICLE STALLING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER DEALER FOR ANOTHER DIAGNOSTIC TEST AND WAS ALSO ADVISED THAT THERE WERE NO ERRORS CODES TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER REGARDING THE VEHICLE STALLING. THE MANUFACTURER ADVISED THE CONTACT THAT THERE WERE NO OTHER COMPLAINTS REGARDING THE VEHICLE STALLING. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WHO STATED THE CRANK SENSOR FAILED AND THE STEERING MODULE WAS FAULTY. THE CONTACT STATED VEHICLE WAS UNSAFE TO DRIVE WHICH COULD POTENTIALLY RESULT IN A SERIOUS CRASH. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 82,000.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 BUICK LACROSSE. IN FOUR DIFFERENT SITUATIONS, WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD RANDOMLY STALL. THE CONTACT HEARD CLANKING NOISES IMMEDIATELY BEFORE THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO HESITATE AND EVENTUALLY STALL. IN TWO OF THE INCIDENTS, THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE RESTARTED AFTER A FEW ATTEMPTS. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER TWICE AND THEY WERE ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE AND PRODUCE AN ERROR CODE BOTH TIMES. THEY REPROGRAMMED THE ENGINE, WHICH REPAIRED THE FAILURE FOR APPROXIMATELY TWO OR THREE DAYS. DURING ONE OF THE VISITS, THE DEALER REPLACED A TRANSMITTER AND A THROTTLE BODY. THE REPAIRS WOULD LAST FOR APPROXIMATELY 3 OR 4 DAYS. THE VEHICLE STALLED AGAIN WHILE DRIVING 40 MPH. THE VEHICLE WAS UNABLE TO BE RESTARTED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN REPAIRED AND REMAINS AT THE DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 16,755 AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 17,334.
