ALUMINUM V8 ENGINE LEAKING OIL PROFUSELY. NOW GETTING SMOKE AND ODOR WHILE DRIVING. MY CONCERN IS THAT OIL IS LEAKING ON TO THE HOT EXHAUST MANIFOLD AND COULD POSSIBLY IGNITE. I SUSPECT ENGINE BOLTS NEED TO BE RETORQUED WHICH WOULD NECESSITATE ENGINE REMOVAL TO ACCOMPLISH. THIS IS A MAJOR DESIGN FLAW WHICH NEEDS CORRECTING. LEAKS OCCUR DURING ALL PHASES OF OPERATION. THE LEAKS FIRST BECAME EVIDENT SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND HAVE PROGRESSIVELY WORSENED SINCE.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LUCERNE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE FROM A STOP, THE STEERING LOST POWER AND RETURNED AFTER A FEW MINUTES. THE FAILURE RECURRED A COUPLE OF TIMES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING GEAR INLET HOSE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL. THE FAILURE WAS NOT REMEDIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
DRIVER DOOR HANDLE BREAKS JUST LIKE THE DOOR HANDLE ON THE CADILLAC. WHY WAS CADILLAC RECALLED BUT NOT BUICK? LET'S BE FAIR BOTH ARE GM CARS. CLEARLY A DEFECT ACCORDING TO SERVICE DEPT. THERE ARE SO MANY.
REAR PASSENGER DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE WHEN HANDLES ARE ACTIVATED. IT WILL UNLOCK WITH FOB AND STEM AT DOOR BUT IS STUCK SHUT. APPEARS TO BE LOCKED ALL THE TIME. WOULD BE UNSAFE IF ONE WAS IN A EMERGENCY SITUATION. IT HAPPEN WHEN I STOPPED AND WAS TRYING TO EXIT. IT HAPPEN ON A HIGHWAY DURING A STOP ON SHOULDER.

WHEELS LEAKING AIR WHILE PARKED AND WHILE DRIVING . PARKED IN MY DRIVEWAY AND DRIVING ON LOCAL ROADS
2006 BUICK LUCERNE. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO VEHICLE ACCELERATION ISSUES. *SMD THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED AT 90 MPH, AS SHE WAS PULLING OUT OF A DRIVE-THRU. IN ORDER TO AVOID GOING INTO TRAFFIC, SHE TURNED INTO A VACANT LOT, WENT DOWN AN EMBANKMENT AND TOTALED THE VEHICLE. THE CONSUMER WAS IN THE HOSPITAL FOR FIVE DAYS. *JB
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 BUICK LUCERNE. WHILE DRIVING AT APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, AN ABNORMAL GRINDING SOUND WAS HEARD. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE POWER STEERING FLUID WAS EMPTY. THE CONTACT REFILLED THE FLUID FOR THE POWER STEERING BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE POWER STEERING HOSE WAS LEAKING AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 06V105000 (STEERING). THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 126,000.
SUDDENLY THE DRIVERS SIDE FRONT DOOR STOPPED UNLOCKING. THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN BECAUSE THE LOCKING MECHANISM CONTINUES TO LOCK AND UNLOCKING QUICKLY PREVENTING YOU FROM OPENING THE DOOR. THE DOOR WILL NOT UNLOCK MANUALLY, USING INSIDE LOCK BUTTON OR BY REMOTE. THIS HAPPENS AT ANYTIME SO YOU NEVER KNOW IF YOU WILL BE ABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR. THIS IS CAUSING DRIVERS TO CLIMB TO THE PASSENGER SIDE FOR EXIT PREVENTING A QUICK EXIT IN AN EMERGENCY. MANY MANY COMPLAINTS HAVE BEEN FILED FOR THIS SAFETY ISSUE AND NO RECALL ON THE MECHANISM THAT OPERATES THE DOORS LEAVING OWNERS WITH A HUGE EXPENSE.
REAR PASSENGER SIDE DOOR WAS OPENED AND CLOSED AFTER ENTERING, ONCE WE TRIED TO OPEN THAT DOOR IT NO LONGER OPENED FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE. THE SAME THING HAPPENED TO THE REAR DRIVER'S SIDE DOOR THE NEXT DAY, NOW NEITHER OF THE REAR DOORS OPEN FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE. THE CHILD SAFETY LOCKS WERE NOT ON PRIOR TO THIS HAPPENING SO IT COULDN'T HAVE HAD AN EFFECT ON WHY THIS HAPPENED AS WE WERE ABLE TO EXIT THE VEHICLE WITHOUT HAVING TO OPEN THEM FROM THE INSIDE AND OUTSIDE, NOW IT WON'T OPEN AT ALL FROM EITHER SIDE. THERE ARE 3 CHILDREN ALWAYS SITTING IN THE BACK AND HAVE TO JUMP OVER THE CENTER CONSOLE FROM THE FRONT AND THIS IS ALSO A HAZARD IN CASE OF A FIRE OR ACCIDENT IF TRYING TO EXIT THE CAR.
THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR DOOR DOES NOT UNLOCK FROM THE INSIDE OR THE OUTSIDE. MY DAUGHTER WAS IN THE BACK SEAT AND TOLD ME SHE COULD NOT GET OUT. I GOT OUT OF THE CAR AND ATTEMPTED TO OPEN THE DOOR FROM THE OUTSIDE WITH NO SUCCESS. I TRIED THE ELECTRIC LOCK BUTTON ON THE DRIVER SIDE AND PASSENGER SIDE WITHOUT SUCCESS. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION AND HAVE READ NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS FROM MANY INDIVIDUALS. IT APPEARS GM HAS A FAULTY LOCKING MECHANISM.
WHEN BACKING OUT OF THE DRIVEWAY OR WHEN MAKING TURNS A WINDING NOISE WOULD OCCUR. CHECKED THE POWER STEERING FLUID AND NOTED IT WAS LOW. ADDED POWER STEERING FLUID AND THE WINDING NOISE WENT AWAY. A WEEK LATER THE WAS DIFFICULT TO STEER AND HARD TO MAKE TURNS. MORE POWER STEERING FLUID WAS ADDED AND UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION IT WAS NOTED A POWER STEERING FLUID LEAK AT THE HOSE CONNECTOR NEAR THE CLAMP AND WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL WAS TURNED THE FLUID WOULD LEAK OUT. I RECENTLY, GAVE THIS CAR TO MY SON AND I WOULD BE DEVASTATED IF ANYTHING WERE TO HAPPEN TO HIM. HE STATED THAT THE CAR STARTED MAKING THIS LOUD WINDING NOISE AND IT WAS HARD FOR HIM TO STEER THE CAR. I WAS MADE AWARE OF THE POWER STEERING RECALL FOR THIS MAKE, YEAR AND MODEL AND HAD NOT RECEIVED A RECALL. MY CONCERN IS, IS MY VIN# INCLUDED IN THIS RECALL? AND IF SO WHAT SHOULD WE DO?

THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOOR WILL NOT OPEN ALTHOUGH IT IS UNLOCKED. THE INSIDE DOOR HANDLE AND THE OUTSIDE DOOR HANDLE BOTH SEEM TO FUNCTION NORMALLY, BUT NEITHER WILL OPEN THE DOOR. THE DOOR ISN'T STUCK. THE CHILD LOCK IS NOT ENGAGED. I HAVE SEEN FROM ONLINE SOURCES THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM FOR THIS VEHICLE FOR A LONG TIME. IT PRESENTS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. *TR

PASSENGER HAD TO EXIT THE CAR ON THE OTHER SIDE UNABLE TO EXIT ON PASSENGER SIDE. MULTIPLE COMPLAINTS OF THE SAME FOUND ONLINE WHERE PEOPLE CANNOT EXIT VEHICLE. APPARENTLY A MECHANISM PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN AROUND FOR AWHILE. THIS WOULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE FOR PASSENGER'S IN THE REAR SEAT WHO CAN NOT EXIT THE CAR INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. A FEW MONTHS LATER, THE CONTACT WAS REAR ENDED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE IN A DRIVE THRU. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE TWO INJURIES. THE DRIVER HAD BACK AND NECK INJURIES AND THE PASSENGER HAD NECK INJURIES. BOTH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. ON ANOTHER OCCASION, THE CONTACT CRASHED INTO ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT WAS INJURED. THE CONTACT HAD ABDOMINAL PAIN, LEFT HIP PAIN, AND LEFT SHOULDER BRUISES, WHICH REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS ABLE TO BE DRIVEN HOME AND WAS LATER DEEMED DESTROYED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 140,000.

I STARTED THE ENGINE AND THE "LOW ENGINE POWER LIGHT" CAME ON THE DASHBOARD. I PRESSED THE PEDAL DOWN AND HAD TO PRESS THE PEDAL ALL THE WAY TO THE FLOOR TO GET THE CAR TO GO 5 MPH. I HAD TO DRIVE ON THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD AND KEEP PUMPING THE GAS PEDAL UP AND DOWN TO KEEP THE CAR GOING. AT TRAFFIC LIGHTS I HAD TO PUT THE CAR IN NEUTRAL AND FLOOR IT TO RACE THE ENGINE IN ORDER FOR THE CAR TO MOVE. IT IS HAZARD DRIVING ON A FREE WAY AT 5 MPH. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT TO TIRE DISCOUNTERS BECAUSE THEY WERE THE ONLY ONE OPEN ON CHRISTMAS EVE AS MARK SWEENEY GMC/BUICK WAS NOT OPEN AND NORMALLY TAKE MY CAR TO BROCHERDING GMC/BUICK. THE SERVICE PERSON AT TIRE DISCOUNTERS DISCOVERED IT WAS THE THROTTLE SWITCH WHICH WAS BAD. I ENDED UP BEING ABLE TO GET A RENTAL CAR WHILE MY CAR WS BEING REPAIRED. I PICKED UP MY CAR ON DECEMBER 29, 2014 TO FIND THAT ANOTHER PERSON HAD BROUGHT THEIR 2006 OR 07 BUICK IN FOR THE SAME PROBLEM AT TIRE DISCOUNTER. I WILL NEVER OWN ANOTHER AMERICAN MADE CAR AGAIN. THIS BUICK LUCERNE IS THE DEMON CAR AND I HAVE SPENT OVER 10K IN REPAIRS THE PAST 3 YEARS TO KEEP IT RUNNING. *JS

THE CONTACT STATED THAT EXCESSIVE FORCE WAS REQUIRED IN ORDER TO TURN AND REMOVE THE KEY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. LATCHES LOCKS LINKAGES -- STARTING AT 52000 MILES, MY BUICK LUCERNE 2006'S REAR PASSENGER DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. THE DOOR WILL NOT OPEN FROM THE INSIDE, FROM THE OUTSIDE, AND ALTHOUGH THE KEY FOB VISIBLY ACTUATES THE LATCH, IT DOES NOT ASSIST IN OPENING THE DOOR. NOW AT 53000, THE DRIVER'S SIDE REAR DOOR WILL NOT OPEN. I NOW HAVE NO ACCESS TO HALF OF THE INSIDE OF THE AUTOMOBILE. AFTER INVESTIGATING NUMEROUS COMPLAINTS ON THE INTERNET, I DISCOVERED THAT APPARENTLY THIS IS DUE TO A LATCH ASSEMBLY FAILURE IN EACH DOOR. THE BUICKFORUMS.COM PROVIDED ADVICE: CHISEL OPEN THE BACK DOORS, THEN PULL THE DOOR PANEL OFF. AT THAT POINT, APPARENTLY THE VISIBLE LINKAGES ARE NOT THE ISSUE. INSTEAD, IT IS THE INTERNAL MECHANISM OF THE LOCK HOUSING. PROBLEM NOT RESOLVED. *TR
I AM WRITING IN REGARDS TO THE GM RECALL #14299. IGNITION ISSUE. WE RECEIVED A LETTER FROM BUICK/GM THE END OF SEPTEMBER. I CALLED THE LOCAL BUICK GMC DEALER TO SET UP AN APPT TO GET IT FIXED, AND SHE SAID I WOULD HAVE TO CALL BACK IN 2-3 WEEKS BECAUSE THE PARTS WERE BACKORDERED. LAST WEEK ON THE NATIONAL NEWS GM WAS COMPLAINING BECAUSE PEOPLE WEREN'T GETTING THIS PROBLEM TAKEN CARE OF AND THEY WANTED TO OFFER GIFT CARDS. I CALLED THE LOCAL DEALER AGAIN AND NOW THE PARTS ARE IN BUT THEY ARE BOOKED UNTIL DECEMBER 15 OF THIS YEAR BECAUSE NOW EVERYONE WANTS TO GET THEIR VEHICLES FIXED. REPAIR COSTS INCLUDING TOWING AND RENTAL CAR FOR THE PERIOD MY VEHICLE WAS BEING REPAIRED ELEVATED TO APPROXIMATELY $1600.00. THIS DOES NOT INCLUDE REPLACEMENT OF THE BACK BUMPER WHICH WOULD COST AN ADDITIONAL $1400.00 PER BUICK'S QUOTE. I WAS INFORMED OF A RECALL BY BUICK DUE TO THE EXACT REASONS THAT LED TO MY ACCIDENT AND RELATED COSTS.
