2007 CADILLAC SRX BRAKES WERE APPLIED AT 60 MPH; BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND BRAKING ACTION WAS NON-EXISTENT. SECOND PUSH ON THE BRAKE PEDAL PROVIDED SOME BRAKING ACTION AND THE VEHICLE SUCCESSFULLY CAME TO A STOP ON THE SHOULDER. NO DASH WARNING LIGHTS OR SIGNALS WERE OBSERVED. VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A GM DEALER; THEIR INSPECTION REVEALED THAT THE RIGHT SIDE FRONT BRAKE PIPE(TUBING) BURST DUE TO CORROSION. MASTER BRAKE CYLINDER WAS EMPTY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THE HUB- BEARINGS. THE BRAKE PADS AND ROTORS WERE SEVERELY DAMAGED BY A RECURRING ISSUE THAT HAD HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES SINCE THE ORIGINAL RECALL REPAIR. THERE WAS AN INITIAL TWO YEAR WARRANTY ON THE ORIGINAL RECALL REPAIR. THE DEALER WHERE THE ORIGINAL RECALL REPAIRS WHERE PERFORMED WAS SCHEPEL CADILLAC 2929 W LINCOLN HWY, MERRILLVILLE, IN 46410 (219) 472-1403. WHEN THE PROBLEM RECURRED IT WAS SIX MONTHS AFTER THE WARRANTY EXPIRED. THE CONTACT HAD TAKEN THE VEHICLE SINCE TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE PROBLEM HAD RECURRED THREE TIMES WITHIN THE LAST FOUR YEARS WITH IT POSSIBLY LEADING TO A SERIOUS CRASH. THE VEHICLE WAS CURRENTLY AT AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WITH THE LATEST REPAIRS BEING UNCOMPLETED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 90,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 45 MPH WHEN THE ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM ENGAGED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO DECELERATE. THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO A DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TEST WHICH DETERMINED A DEFECTIVE PCM. THE DEALER REPROGRAMMED THE PCM, REPLACED THE REAR BRAKES, ROTORS AND A STEERING COLUMN SENSOR HOWEVER, NONE OF THE REPAIRS REMEDIED THE BRAKE PROBLEM. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000.
