WHILE DRIVING MY CAR LOSES THE POWER TO ACCELERATE WHEN TRAVELING 5 MILES PER HOUR TO GO FASTER, THE RPM'S GO UP BUT THE CAR DO NOT ACCELERATE. IN MY RESEARCH THIS IS HAPPENING TO A LOT OF CARS.
DRIVER SIDE HEADLIGHT DOES NOT WORK AS CONDENSATION BUILD UP BLOWS OUT THE LAMP. THIS HAS BEEN REPLACED TWO TIMES AND IS NOW OUT THE THIRD TIME. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE ON THIS MODEL AND CADILLAC DOES NOT EVEN MAKE A REPLACEMENT THAT DOES THE SAME THING AFTER A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME THAT A NEW UNIT HAS BEEN INSTALLED.
I SAE THAT IN CALIFORNIA THERE WAS A CLASS ACTION FILED AGAINST GM FOR FAULTY HEADLIGHTS. ONE OF MY HEADLIGHTS JUST WENT OUT AND I AM LOOK FOR A FIX/REPLACEMENT. I CHANGED THE BULB BUT THAT DID NOT WORK
AT 96,126, THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK TO CADILLAC DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT CODE P0017 CAME UP AND THAT THE TIMING CHAIN NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HAD THE TIMING CHAIN REPLACED. AT 122,962, THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. TOOK BACK TO SAME CADILLAC DEALER AND WAS TOLD THE CODE P0017 CAME UP AGAIN AND THAT THE TIMING CHAIN WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED ONCE AGAIN AFTER ONLY 26,836 MILES ON THE FIRST REPLACED TIMING CHAIN.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLIGHTS DID NOT FUNCTION DUE TO MOISTURE BUILD-UP. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO TUSTIN CADILLAC (LOCATED AT 8401, 50 AUTO CENTER DR, TUSTIN, CA 92782, (866) 861-7452) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS A LEAK AND THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 36,500.
HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM DUE TO MOISTURE FROM A LACK OF SEALING.THERE ALSO SEEMS TO BE A LOT OF OTHERS OWNERS HAVING PROBLEMS WITH TIMING CHAINS.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT MOISTURE ACCUMULATED IN THE HEADLIGHTS, WHICH LED TO THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT SHUTTING OFF. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH AT THE TIME OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO FLOW CADILLAC (336-760-7000, LOCATED AT 1400 S STRATFORD RD, WINSTON-SALEM, NC 27103) WHERE THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY WAS REPLACED; HOWEVER, THE FAILURE RECURRED WITH THE DRIVER'S SIDE HEADLIGHT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURES AND STATED THAT THE WARRANTY WAS EXPIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 117,268.
HEADLIGHT HOUSING IS NOT SEALING PROPERLY. WATER CAN PENETRATE INSIDE ASSEMBLY AND THEN CONDENSATE. THIS LEADS TO CLOUDED HEADLIGHTS WHICH DOES NOT PROPERLY ILLUMINATE THE ROAD. FURTHERMORE, IT CAUSES ONCOMING DRIVER TO MISCALCULATE VEHICLE LOCATION AND DISTANCE. THIS ISSUE IS PREVALENT THROUGHOUT THIS HEADLIGHT STYLE. MANUFACTURER SHOULD BE HELD RESPONSIBLE.
MY WIFE WAS 25 MILES FROM HOME AT 10:30 PM AND CALLED ME STATING THAT NEITHER HEADLIGHT WAS WORKING. BOTH HAD CONDENSATION IN THE HOUSING. ONLY ALTERNATIVE WAS TO TOW IT HOME OR DRIVE WITH FOG LAMPS ON.NEITHER HEADLIGHT IS WORKING, HIGH OR LOW BEAM. THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE FOR A VEHICLE WITH 60,000 MILES. CALLED CADILLAC AND WAS TOLD YOU ARE OUT OF WARRANTY, YOU WILL PAY ALL COSTS TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.
CONTINUE TO DRIVE AFTER STOPPING THE CAR, TRANSMISSION WILL SHIFT FROM FIRST GEAR INTO SECOND GEAR AND STUCK THERE, THEN THE GEAR WILL SHIFT NORMALLY ONLY AFTER U BRING THE CAR TO A TOTAL STOP AND DRIVE AGAIN. HAPPENED TO ME SEVERAL TIMES AFTER I STOPPED THE CAR AT A TRAFFIC LIGHT BEFORE I WAS TRYING TO GET ON THE HIGHWAY
MY SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON AND THE DEALER SAID ITS CODE IS POO17. THE INFORMED ME THEIR MIGHT BE A RECALL SO I AM CHECKING TO SEE HE SAID CADILLAC DID HAVE ONE FOR 2004-2009
HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM AND BASICALLY UNUSABLE UNLESS THE BRIGHTS ARE ON. I ALSO HAVE CONDENSATION IN THE PASSENGER SIDE HEADLIGHT FIXTURE. THIS CAUSES THE LIGHTS TO BE EVEN MORE DIM COMING FROM THAT HEADLIGHT.
VISIBILITY AT NIGHT IS SO POOR THAT I DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AFTER DARK. IT IS LIKE THE LIGHTS ARE WORKING ABOUT 30%. I LOOKED ONLINE AND NOTICED THERE IS A PATTERN WITH THIS MAKE AND MODEL AND THE POOR VISIBILITY/LIGHTING AT NIGHT. THIS IS A HORRIBLE SAFETY ISSUE AND A RECALL NEEDS TO BE ISSUED. CONSUMERS EXPECT CADILLAC TO BE ABOVE THE STANDARD AND WE PAY MORE FOR THAT. WE SHOULD NOT HAVE THESE KINDS OF ISSUES AND BE EXPECTED TO PAY OUT OF POCKET TO REPAIR THEM. A RECALL SHOULD BE ISSUED TO MAKE THESE VEHICLES SAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS TOO DIM, CAN NOT SAFELY DRIVE AT NIGHT.
HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM ONCOMING CARS DO NOT SEE ME AND HAVE SWERVED INTO MY LANE IN ATTEMPT TO PASS.
I TOOK MY 2010 CADILLAC SRX IN FOR AN INSPECTION TO RENRW MY REGISRTATION AND WAS TOLD THAT BE CAUSE OF THE ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON IT WAS AN AUTOMATIC FAIL. I WAS SURPRISED BECAUSE I HAD PREVIOUSLY TAKEN IT THE DEALERSHIP THAT HAD GIVEN ME THIS LINE, ALTHOUGH YOUR ENGINE LIGHT IS ON, THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH YOUR VEHICLE, ITS PROBALLY JUST A LOSE WIRE, NEVERMIND THAT HE NEVER TOLD ME IF IT COMES BACK ON I WOULD NOT PASS IN SPECTION. SO WHEN I TAKE IT BACK TO THE DEALER, I GET A WHOLE OTHER STORY FROM WHAT THE MECHANIC, HE TOLD ME, WITH OUT TELLING ME HE COULD NOT TOUCH BECAUSE IT WAS A DEFECTIVE MANUFACTURED FLAW. THE WIRING TO THE E-VAP SYSTEM IS EXPOSED TO THE ENVIORNMENT. NHTSA, PLEASE HELP ME FIGURE OUT WHAT IS GOING ON WITH THIS VEHICLE, I REALLY FEEL UNSAFE AND BELIEVE THAT IT IS ONLY BY THE GRACE OF GOD THAT I HAVE NOT BEEN HARMED BYTHHIS VEHICLE OT HARMED OTHERS. ONLY NOW IT IS AT THE DEALERSHIP, WAITING FOR ME TO SIGN OFF ON $3000, 00 WORTH OF REPAIRS, OF WHICH 75% HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON. OH, BEFORE I FORGET I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THEY ONLY KNEW OF A COUPLE OF RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE, ONE HAD TO DO WITH THE TIGHTENING OF THE TORQUE, BUT I WENT ONLINE AND I FOUND OVER A DOZEN RECALLS FOR MY VIN. PLEASE NHTSA, I HOPE YOU HAVE SOME GOOD NEWS FOR ME, BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE A STATISTIC WAITING TO HAPPEN, BUT THIS IS THE THING EVERYONE KNEW ABOUT THE POTENTIAL FOR ALARM, BUT NO ONE WOULD SAY ANYTHING, EVEN WHEN ASKED. HEAD LAMP IS WET INSIDE THE HOUSEING AND CONDENSATION IS COLLECTING.
CONDENSATION IN HEADLIGHTS CAUSING VISIBILITY ISSUES AND INTERFERING WITH THE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS FOR HEADLIGHTS TO WORK PROPERLY. THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED SINCE I HAVE A BAD EYESIGHT AND YOUNG CHILDREN IN THE HOME.
THE VEHICLE SWITCHES TO STABILITRAC AND ABS AT THE SAME TIME CAUSING THE ENGINE TO NOT SHIFT INTO THE NEXT GEAR. THIS CAUSES THE TRANSMISSION TO BE OVER RAM AND I HAVE TO STOP THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY AND PUT IT INTO SPORT MODE AND MANUALLY SHIFT THE GEARS IN ORDER FOR IT TO SHIFT GEARS. THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AT THE TIME OF TRANSMISSION NOT SHIFTING CORRECTLY INTO THE NEXT RPM.
RAKATA RECALL. I WAS DRIVING ON INTERSTATE. CAR SHIFTED DOWN AND WOULD NOT SHIFT TO HIGHER GEAR FOR SPEED TRAVELING CAUSING 8000 RPM THAT RESULTED IN ENGINE BLOW. SMOKE EVERYWHERE. CAR WAS TOWED. I NEED A NEW ENGINE DUE TO TRANSMISSION SHIFTING DOWN PLUS WHATEVER HAPPENED WITH TRANSMISSION
APPROXIMATELY 3 WEEKS AGO, MY 2010 CADILLAC SRX STARTED VIBRATING SHUTTERING WHEN DOWN SHIFTING BETWEEN 20-25 MPH. I TOOK INTO DEALER WHO STATED NEEDS NEW TRANSMISSION AT 84K MILES. JUST TODAY, IT STARTED VIBRATING HARD DOWN SHIFTING AT 40 MPH. I HAD TRACTION CONTROL ISSUES AROUND 61K MILES WHICH WAS COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, SENSOR FAILURES, SUSPENSION AND ACCUMULATOR FAILURE AT 66K MILES AND A/C ACTUATOR FAULTY AT 48K MILES. MOST REPAIRS ON ANY VEHICLE I HAVE EVER OWNED AND THIS IS GMA TOP OF THE LINE.
THE LITES ARE TO DIM, AT NITE TO SEE THE ROAD AT A SAFE DISTANCE AHEAD. WE ARE CONCERNED ABOUT SEEING PEOPLE, ANIMALS, DEBRIS. HOLES ETC. WE HAVE BOUGHT THE BRIGHTEST BULBS THAT IS ACCEPTABLE TO GM SPICS, WE HAD THEM INSTALLED BY A GM DEALER, THE RESULTS WERE A VERY MINIMAL IMPROVEMENT . GM DEALER SAID THE ONLY OTHER OPTION IS TO BUY A RETO FIT KIT AT A COST OF $400. BULBS $200. AND THEN LABOR COST. TO ME IF I AM HAVING THESE SERIOUS ISSUES THERE R MANY OTHERS ALSO THIS A DANGER TO ME, FELLOW DRIVERS, ANIMALS, AND PEOPLE. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS MATTER. I BELIEVE THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL. PLEASE KEEP ME POSTED ON THIS INVESTIGATION.
The first things to go were the headlights, rearview camera & the seatbelt wouldn't fully retract. Then ALL the dash warning lights flashed like a Christmas tree; the radio, heat & AC settings changed on their own; & the navigation screen scrambled into pixels like a crashed computer screen! These issues went on sporadically for months. I was convinced the vehicle was possessed. It seemed things would act up when it rained, was damp or humid. After spending thousands, things got worse. My windows, sun roof & hatchback opened on their own & wouldn't close. I'd have to pull over, turn off the engine, wait a while & restart it like a reset, which was rarely successful the first time. I haven't opened my sunroof in over a year. I mentioned all of the above to the dealership mechanics during regular maintenance & repairs but they could never find the source of the problem, did what they could & said this model was notorious for having electrical issues. Then for weeks, I'd find my hatchback open every morning. I'd close it. Minutes later, it would open again & again & again. I stood there in disbelief. This became a neighborhood joke & was happening even more than I realized because my neighbors had been closing it whenever they saw it open. They thought the vehicle was possessed, as well. After the hatchback, they replaced the module. Shortly after that, I found a puddle on the driver's side floor. I didn't notice it right away because of the winter weather. I removed the floor mats to clean them & saw the puddle. Whatever they did must have rerouted the water & while sitting in the vehicle during a storm, I found one, which I filmed. The warning lights started again, but I don't want to spend thousands more on this vehicle. According to Carvana, it's only worth ~$2000. I've read that the sunroof leak is prevalent in the 2010 SRX & other models. Is there anything you can do?
THE BEARINGS ON TWO OF THE TIRES THE EMISSIONS IS GIVING ME TROUBLE I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC WHO CHANGED EVERYTHING CAR WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION
THE TIMING CHAIN LOOSENS AND CAUSES THE ENGINE TO FAIL. AVERAGE COST OF THIS REPAIR IS $2,100 AT 88,000 MILES. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE FOR THIS ENGINE AND PREVIOUS YEARS WERE RECALLED FOR THE SAME ISSUE.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE, BUT DID NOT ASSIST. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 170,000. *BF*JB

THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON MY 2010 CADILLAC SRX. I TOOK IT IN FOR TO BE CHECKED OUT AND WAS TOLD THE CODE CAME UP P000017 AND THAT THE TIMING CHAIN WOULD HAVE TO BE REPLACED. PRICE TO REPLACE WOULD BE $1800.00.
FAULTY HEADLAMP THAT I KEEP HAVING TO REPLACE SOMETHING ON IT BECAUSE IT KEEPS GOING OUT AND AC WILL NOT GET COLD ON LEVEL 1,2, OR 3. IT'S GIVING FAULTY CODES.
THE SUN ROOF DRAIN TUBES CAME AWAY FROM THE FIREWALL ON ALL 4 SIDES. WATER LEAKED ALL OVER THE GAS PEDAL AND THE BREAK. I HAVE SLID OFF THE STREET TRYING TO BREAK CAUSING DAMAGE TO A YARD. THE ELECTRICAL ON THE RADIO SYSTEM AND LIGHTS SHORT OUT BECAUSE OF WATER GETTING INTO THE DASH. THE BACK HATCH HAS WATER LEAKING DIRECTLY INTO THE CIRCUIT BOARD THAT CONTROLS IT AND NOT WILL NOT ALLOW THE HATCH TO OPEN.
TAILGATE WILL NOT STAY UP. IF IT WOULD HAVE HIT MY WIFE, IT WOULD BEEN A DISASTER. FORTUNATELY, SHE GOT OUT OF THE WAY IN TIME. THE CAR WAS STATIONARY WHEN MY WIFE TRIED TO OPEN THE TAILGATE. TAILGATE WILL NOT STAY UP.
BOUGHT VEHICLE USED FROM SOUTHFIELD QUALITY CARS DETROIT IN OCT 2017 AT 96673 MILES. AT 100,000 MILES CHECK ENGINE LIGHT HAS COME ON AND A CODE SCANNER OBD2 USED HAS REPORTED A P0017 CODE THAT TRANSLATES TO ONE OF THREE THINGS. 1. OIL DRAIN TUBE INTERIOR ENGINE BLOCKED 2. SENSORS 3 TIMING CHAIN. HAVE DONE ENGINE FLUSH, RESET CODE, CODE CAME BACK ON NEXT DAY SAME CODE P0017. WHY IS THERE NO GM RECALL ON THIS VEHICLE? TOOK TO A REPAIR SHOP, THEY REPLACED SENSORS, CODE CAME BACK ON IN A WEEK. PRESENT MILEAGE 106353. GM DEALERS WANT $2900 TO FIX. MY WARRANTY ISSUED BY DEALER IS A GWC WARRANTY. THEY WILL NOT FIX/TAKE ENGINE APART TO LOOK AT TIMING CHAIN UNLESS SOMETHING BREAKS. IF TIMING CHAIN BREAKS THERE GOES MY MOTOR. THIS IS SUPPOSED TO BE A GM FLAGSHIP VEHICLE? HELP!
HEADLIGHTS ARE VERY DIM. REPLACED NUMEROUS TIMES WITH HIGHER LUMEN BULBS BUT REMAINS DIM. DEALER HAS NO IDEA.
HAD A BIT OF HEADLIGHT CONDENSATION DURING A HEAVY RAINFALL BUT SUN CAME OUT AND DRIED IT UP AND IT WORKED FINE. GONE THRU MANY CAR WASHES SINCE. 2 YEARS LATER TOOK THE VEHICLE IN TO THE DEALERSHIP AND ASKED IF THEY COULD WASH OFF THE ROAD SALT AFTER INSTALLING NEW TIRES. AFTER GETTING IT BACK THE PASSENGER HEADLIGHT WAS ALL FOGGY AND FULL OF WATER AND CONDENSATION. CMON CADILLAC YOU GUYS KNOW OF THIS PROBLEM AND YOU HOLD THE PRESSURE WASHER ON THE HEADLIGHT UNTIL IT'S FULL OF WATER. I THEN GET A CALL ASKING IF I WANT TO UPGRADE TO A NEWER YEAR... WHAT A WAY TO INCREASE BUSINESS AND LOSE A CUSTOMER. A WELL DOCUMENTED AND KNOWN PROBLEM AND YOU DELIBERATELY WORK ON IT UNTIL IT COSTS YOUR CLIENT MONEY AND IT'S A SAFETY ISSUE. WHAT NEXT ? WHAT IF IT WAS A BRAKE PROBLEM.. DON'T TRUST THE DEALERSHIPS AT ALL. USED TO THINK THERE WAS MORE OF A REPUTATION AND MORE INTEGRITY.. LOST ALL FAITH IN GOOD BUSINESS PRACTICES.
The contact owns a 2010 Cadillac SRX. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the headlights failed to illuminate as needed. Additionally, water would seep into the headlights. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and diagnosed that the headlights needed to be replaced. The dealer informed the contact that he had to pay out of pocket for the headlight replacement and to contact the manufacturer for reimbursement. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 94,024.
MOISTURE, CONDENSATION, DIM, CLOUDED AND IMPROPERLY ILLUMINATE THE ROAD ON LEFT DRIVER SIDE. THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS REPLACED BEFORE WE TOOK OWNERSHIP. THE PASSENGER SIDE HAS BEEN REPLACE WITH AFTERMARKET ASSEMBLY AFTER IT WAS DAMAGED.

WHEN CAR WAS EXPOSED TO A HEAVY RAIN, BOTH HEADLIGHTS WENT OUT DUE TO WATER DRAINING INTO THE HEADLIGHTS. PER CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS AND CADILLAC FORUMS, THIS IS A WIDESPREAD PROBLEM. CADILLAC (GM) DOES NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE ISSUE.
BOTH FRONT HEADLIGHTS APPEAR TO HAVE CONDENSATION AND/OR WATER INSIDE. THE LOW BEAMS NO LONGER PROVIDE ADEQUATE LIGHT FOR ME TO SAFELY OPERATE MY VEHICLE AFTER DARK, AND EVEN SUDDENLY TOTALLY BLACKED OUT ONE NIGHT! ONCOMING DRIVERS WERE FLASHING THEIR HEADLIGHTS AT ME, AND I WAS FORCED TO DRIVE WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ON CONTINUOUSLY. I CALLED THE LOCAL CADILLAC DEALER SERVICE DEPT AND WAS TOLD THEY HAVEN'T HEARD OF ANY PROBLEMS WITH SRX HEADLIGHTS.
THE HEADLIGHTS TO MY CADILLAC SRX 2010 QUICK WORKING AT 79,200 MILES SAFELY. THE DIMS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN LESS BRIGHT THAN OTHER VEHICLES WHEN FIRST PURCHASED HOWEVER I UNDERSTAND THIS IS A COMMON CONCERN. THE DIMS HOWEVER GOT WORSE JUST A FEW DAYS AGO. SO MUCH SO THAT I WAS NOT SURE THAT THE LIGHTS WERE EVEN ON WHILE DRIVING FROM THE CITY TO THE COUNTRY WHERE NO ADDITIONAL LIGHT IS AVAILABLE TO SUPPLEMENT THE HEADLIGHTS. ALL LIGHTS STILL WORK HOWEVER THE DIMS ARE BEYOND DANGEROUS. I WAS GETTING FLASHED BY OTHER DRIVERS ON THE ROAD TO TURN THE LIGHTS ON WHILE THE DIMS WERE STILL ON AND FLASHED WHEN I HAD TO DRIVE WITH MY BRIGHT LIGHTS ON FOR ADEQUATE DRIVING LIGHTS. I HAD TO DRIVE OVER THE WEEKEND IN FOGGY CONDITIONS WHICH WERE EVEN MORE DANGEROUS HOPING THAT I WOULD NOT BE KILLED BY ONCOMING TRAFFIC. I HAVE TAKEN A PICTURE OF THE HIGHWAY WHILE DRIVING WITH MY DIMS ON WHICH I HAVE ATTACHED TO THIS FILE. AS YOU CAN SEE, THERE IS NO LIGHT TO BE HAD AND THE ONLY WAY TO SEE A BIT MORE IN FRONT OF YOU IS TO TURN THE SPEEDOMETER LIGHTS ALL THE WAY DOWN. I CAN'T IMAGINE WHAT IT IS GOING TO BE LIKE TO DRIVE IN BLIZZARD LIKE CONDITIONS THIS WINTER WITH THESE HEADLIGHTS. CADILLAC NEEDS TO BE FORCED TO RECALL THESE HEADLIGHTS! BASED ON MY RESEARCH OF THESE LIGHTS, THIS IS A MASSIVE ISSUE. THE ONLY REASON WAY THE RECALL HASN'T BEEN FORCED IS BECAUSE IT ALWAYS HAPPENS OUTSIDE OF THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WHERE YOU HAVE TO PAY TO GET DIAGNOSTICS DONE ON IT. CONVENIENTLY FOR CADILLAC, THEY JUST MAKE IT PAST THAT MARK BY 4,000-7,000 MILES. THIS IS NOT RIGHT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS SHORTED MORE THAN TWICE. THE BULB WAS REPLACED BY THE CONTACT. DURING THE THIRD FAILURE, THE BULB FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN AS TO WHAT WAS CAUSING THE FAILURE. THE DEALER (JAMES HODGE CHEVROLET OF BROKEN BOW, 1207 S PARK DR, BROKEN BOW, OK 74728, (888) 592-3964) INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND PROVIDED TESTING TO CHECK FOR MOISTURE WITHIN THE HEADLAMP ASSEMBLIES, BUT WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE A REMEDY TO PREVENT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 116,003.
I WAS IN A CAR ACCIDENT ALONG WITH TWO OTHER PASSENGERS AND NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYED
LOST BOTH LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS WHILE DRIVING HOME 12/22/2017. HAD TO TURN ON FOG LAMPS TO SEE. THIS WAS AFTER DEALER HAD MY VEHICLE 3 TIMES TO1)REPLACE RIGHT LOW BEAM BULB; 2) BALLAST; 3) IGNITER AND BALLAST. OVER $700 SPENT TO DATE AND EVIDENT NOW WITH BOTH LOW BEAMS OUT MORE WORK NEEDED TO REPAIR.
THE LOW BEAMS LIGHTS SOME TIMES THEY BOTH WORK AND SOME TIMES JUST ONE WORKS AND SOMETIMES NEITHER LOWBEAM LIGHT WORKS AT ALL CAN DRIVE AT NIGHT I HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS AND THE STILL DO NOT WORK AND I HAVE CHECKED THE FUSES IN MY DRIVEWAY
THE HEADLIGHTS LIGHTS ARE NOT PROPERLY WORKING. THEY'RE COMPLETELY OUT!!! WE CAN'T DRIVE AT NIGHT UNLESS WE USE THE HIGH BEAMS. MY HUSBAND AND I HAD A FRIEND REPLACED THE BULBS ON THE SIDE OF THE HEADLIGHTS BECAUSE WE THOUGHT THAT THEY WERE THE ISSUE. THE MAIN CENTER LIGHTS WERE STILL OUT. WE TOOK IT TO DISCOUNT AUTO PARTS AND WE WERE TOLD THAT THE WRONG BULBS WERE USED. AFTER WE PURCHASED WHAT WE THOUGHT WAS THE CORRECT BULBS, THE WORKER VOLUNTEERED TO PUT THEM IN FOR US. AFTER HE WAS DONE, THE LIGHTS STILL DIDN'T COME ON. WELL, THE LIGHTS ON THE SIDE WORKED BUT NOT THE MAIN CENTER LIGHTS. ANYWAY, I GOGGLED THIS TO SEE IF ANYONE ELSE WAS EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. OMG! SO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME EXACT ISSUE. A FEW PEOPLE WENT TO THE CADILLAC DEALER HAD THE LIGHTS FIXED AND AFTER A FEW WEEKS, THE LIGHTS WERE OUT AGAIN. SOME PEOPLE TRIED FIXING THE ISSUE THEMSELVES AND AFTER WORKING FOR A FEW WEEKS, LIGHTS WERE OUT AGAIN. YESTERDAY, I SAW TWO OF THE SAME CADILLACS SRX AND NOTICED THE SAME THING. THE FRONT LIGHTS WERE OUT AND VERY DIM SUCH AS OURS. THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS!! PEOPLE'S LIVES ARE IN DANGER. WE NOTICED IT WHEN MY HUSBAND HAD TO RUSH ME TO THE ER LATE LAST YEAR OR EARLIER THIS YEAR. IT WAS AROUND 11 PM AND THE STREET WE HAD TO DRIVE DOWN WAS COMPLETELY DARK. IT WAS A TWO WAY STREET AND WE HAD NO CHOICE BUT TO USE THE HEAD BEAMS WHEN NO CARS WAS COMING ON THE OTHER SIDE. WE WAS SO FRIGHTENED WHEN WE HAD TO TURN THEM OFF BECAUSE HOW DARK IT WAS. THERE WERE NO STREET LIGHTS UNTIL WE GOT CLOSE TO THE HOSPITAL. WE HAD DATE NIGHT AND STAYED AT A HOTEL AND THE AREA WAS AROUND AN INDIAN RESERVATION WHICH IS VERY DARK. JUST THOUGHT I WOULD MENTION OUR EXPERIENCE AND HOW THIS ISSUE IS PUTTING PEOPLE'S LIVES IN HARMS WAY. I SUGGEST THAT GM AND CADILLAC FIXED THIS PROBLEM THAT MAY BE DUE TO MOISTURE COMING IN AS STATED FROM OTHER OWNERS.
