TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS REMOVING THE SPARE TIRE FROM THE TRUNK, THE LIFTGATE CAME DOWN ON HIS BACK AND THEN INDEPENDENTLY RAISED BACK UP. WHEN THE CONTACT MOVED AWAY, THE LIFTGATE CLOSED BACK INDEPENDENTLY AND FAILED TO OPEN AGAIN. THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BILLY NAVARRE CHEVROLET (1300 E COLLEGE ST, LAKE CHARLES, LA 70607, (337) 513-4365), BUT WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED DUE TO THE DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR FEES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.
SINCE PURCHASING THE CAR USED WITH 36K MILES ON IT THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE BECOME PROGRESSIVELY DIMMER, TO THE POINT WHERE THE CAR IS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. UPON FURTHER RESEARCH THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE CARS AND IS A FLAW IN THE DESIGN. CADILLAC WANTS 1200 TO FIX THEM, AND REFUSES TO ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS IS A MAJOR SAFETY ISSUE ON THEIR VEHICLES.
MY LIGHTS ON LOW BEAM ARE SO DIM I CAN'T DRIVE AT NIGHT. I CAN'T SEE THEY ARE SO DIM THEY ARE CLOUDY. CADALLIAC DEALER SAYS IT'S A DEFECT IN LIGHT FROM MOISTURE AND I HAVE TO REPLACE THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY AND WITH THE SAME DEFECTIVE LIGHT. IT WILL HAPPEN AGAIN. GM SHOULD RECALL THESE AND FIX THE PROBLEMS. THEY KNOW THERE'S A PROBLEM BUT REFUSE. THE POWER TRANSMISSION HAS A HESITATE IN IT SOMETIMES IN FIRST GEAR TAKING OFF.
MY CAR IS UNSAFE TO DRIVE UNLESS I USE HIGH BEAMS AT ALL TIMES. THIS IS NOT A SIMPLE CHANGE THE BULB FIX. THIS IS A VERY WELL KNOWN ISSUE WITH 2010-2015 CADILLAC SRX MODELS THAT THE HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM AT NIGHT THAT THE CAR CAN NOT BE DRIVEN SAFELY. GM, INSTEAD OF DOING A NATIONAL RECALL HAS INSTEAD SETTLED ON A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT WHERE THE OWNER HAS TO BRING THE CAR IN AND PAY OUT OF POCKET ROUGHLY 1500 DOLLARS FOR REPLACEMENT PARTS AND THEN THEY WILL REIMBURSE THE COST. I DO NOT HAVE THE EXTRA MONEY TO REPLACE THEIR DEFECTIVE HEADLIGHTS. GM NEEDS TO STEP UP AND ISSUE A RECALL AS THIS IS AN EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CADILLAC SRX. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SUN ROOF LEAKED EVERY TIME IT RAINED. THE INCIDENT CAUSED SEVERAL ELECTRICAL FAILURES TO OCCUR. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO VINCE WHIBBS BUICK GMC CADILLAC (5651 PENSACOLA BLVD, PENSACOLA, FL 32505, 850-610-1851) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRAIN HOSE SHOULD BE CHECKED TWICE A YEAR FOR A WATER TEST TO PREVENT THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000.
WE RECENTLY PURCHASED THIS CAR. WE LOVE IT, THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THE LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS. WE LIVE IN A VERY RURAL AREA, SO THERE ARE NO STREET LIGHTS OF ANY KIND IN OUR AREA. THE DEALERSHIP WHERE WE PURCHASED THE CAR FROM WERE VERY NICE AND REPLACED THE BULBS IN THE CAR AND IT DID NOT MAKE ONE BIT OF DIFFERENCE. THE LOW BEAMS ARE SO BAD THAT YOU CAN NOT SEE AT NIGHT, AT ALL. MY HUSBAND ALMOST HIT A TREE THE OTHER NIGHT BECAUSE HE COULD NOT SEE IT. THERE IS ALREADY A LAWSUIT WITH GM OVER THE HEADLAMP ISSUES IN CALIFORNIA AND FLORIDA FOR THE 2011-2015 SRX. WHILE GM IS CONCERNED WITH THEIR CUSTOMERS OR SO THEY SAY, THEY ARE NOT OFFERING ANY ASSISTANCE WITH FIXING THIS ISSUE BECAUSE THERE IS NO ACTIVE RECALL. TO ME THAT SAYS, "WE ARE NOT GOING TO SPEND ALL THAT MONEY ON RECALLS, WE WOULD RATHER PAYOUT ON WRONGFUL DEATH SUITS". WHICH IS CLEAR BY THE CLASS ACTION SUIT IN CALIFORNIA AND FLORIDA. MY QUESTION IS "HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE A RECALL IS ISSUED OVER THE LOW BEAM HEADLAMPS"?
2013 CADILLAC SRX HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM.
DEFECTIVE HEADLIGHT SEAL THAT ALLOWS MOISTURE TO CORRODE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS. THE MOISTURE CAUSES CONDENSATION THAT LEAVES THE HEADLIGHTS PRACTICALLY USELESS. I HAVE A 3 YR OLD AND A NEWBORN AND THIS CAR IS NO LONGER SAFE TO DRIVE THEM IN AT NIGHT. VERY DANGEROUS.
O OUR CADILAC IN THE TIME WE HAVE OWNED IT THE HEADLIGHTS HAVE BEEN FIXED AT THE CADILAC DEALER FOR WHICH WE PAID $1400 TO BILL CRAMER CADILAC IN PANAMA CITY FLOIRDA WHERE WE BOUGHT THE CAR. SUPPOSEDLY THEY FIXED THE ISSUE WITH THE HEADLIGHTS BUT WITHEN A MONTH OF THAT REPAIR THE HEADLIGHTS AGAIN WERE SO DIM YOU CAN NOT SEE TO DRIVE AT NIGHT WITHOUT THE HIGH BEAMS ON. NOT EVEN A MONTH AFTER REPAIR BILL CRAMER WAS CONTACTED AND TOLD ABOUT THE ISSUE HAPPENING AGAIN AND WE WERE TOLD OVER THE PHONE THAT WE WOULD AGAIN HAVE TO PAY FOR THE FULL AMOUNT OF THE REPAIR TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND WOULD HAVE TO TAKE THINGS UP WITH GM. ON SEVERAL OCCASIONS I HAVE TRIED TO SPEAK WITH BILL CRAMER CADILAC OR GM ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND HAVE BEEN GIVEN THE RUNAROUND. NOW IM FINDING EVERYONE WHO PURCHASED ONE OF THESE VEHICLES IS HAVEING THE EXACT SAME ISSUES WITH THE HEADLIGHTS. SOMEONE I WORK WITH RECENTLY BOUGHT A NEWER SRX AND IT ALREADY HAS THE EXACT SAME ISSUE. WHEN WILL SOMETHING BE DONE ABOUT THIS?????????
WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT WE HAVE NOTICED THE HEAD LIGHTS LOOKED DIM. OVER SOME TIME THEY HAVE BECOME VERY DIM. I TALKED WITH THE CADILLAC DEALER ON APRIL 19,2019 AND WAS ADVISED THIS IS A PROBLEM WITH THE SRX MODELS BECAUSE OF MOISTURE GETTING INTO THE AREA CAUSING THE LAMP TO FAIL. I WAS ADVISED THAT TO REPLACE THE HEADLIGHT IS VERY EXPENSIVE HOWEVER NOT A GUARANTEE SINCE THE MOISTURE INTRUSION ISSUE HAS NOT BEEN RESOLVED. I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE IN MARCH 2014 (USED) FROM THE DEALER WITH THE EXTENDED WARRANTY. SINCE I HAVE OWNED THE VEHICLE, I HAVE ALWAYS HAD IT SERVICED AT THE DEALER. AS PART OF THE SERVICE MOST OF THE TIMES A GM MULTI POINT VEHICLE INSPECTION (GM MPVI)WAS DONE ON THE VEHICLE WITH THE LATEST ONE DONE ON JANUARY 14,2019. LOOKING BACK AT THE INSPECTION REPORTS NEVER HAS THERE BEEN ANY INDICATION OF THE AN ISSUE WITH THE LIGHTING. ALSO I HAVE NEVER SEEN OR BEEN ADVISED OF A PROBLEM WITH THE HEAD LIGHTS BY THE DEALER OR GM. THE DEALER TOLD ME THAT THERE IS A LAW SUIT IN CALIFORNIA RELATIVE TO THIS ISSUE HOWEVER A CLASS ACTION SUIT WAS DISMISSED. TO ME THIS IS A VEHICLE SAFETY ISSUE WHICH IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF GM AND SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL. HOW BEST SHOULD THIS ISSUE BE ADDRESSED?
I HAVE ALMOST HAD SEVERAL WRECKS DRIVING AT NIGHT IN THIS VEHICLE. THE HEADLIGHTS ARE TOO DIM TO SAFELY NAVIGATE THE ROADWAYS. DRIVING WITH THE HIGH BEAMS ON IS THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN SEE. EVEN AFTER APPLYING THE SUGGESTED FIXES FROM CADILLAC, YOU CANNOT SAFELY DRIVE THIS CAR AT NIGHT. I HAVE INCLUDED THE MOST RECENT DATE OF A NEAR WRECK DUE TO LOW VISIBILITY.
Passenger side low-beam headlight is very dim. Replaced bulb and headlight is still very dim. Reflectivity seem to be almost nil inside the headlamp assembly.
WE PURCHASED A USED 2013 CADILLAC SRX ON APRIL 8, 2019. WE PICKED THE VEHICLE UP FROM THE DEALER AT APPROXIMATELY 6PM AND PROCEEDED TO DRIVE IT HOME. UPON TURNING ON THE HEADLAMPS, WE WERE UNSURE IF THEY WERE ACTUALLY ON. THE ROAD IN FRONT OF US WAS STILL DARK COMPARED TO THE OTHER VEHICLES AROUND US. I GOT OUT OF THE VEHICLE AND ASSESSED THAT THE HEADLAMPS WERE ON, JUST NOT VERY BRIGHT. WE DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME AND RESEARCHED TO TRY AND FIND A SOLUTION. IT BECAME OBVIOUS FROM COMMENTS BY OTHER CADILLAC SRX OWNERS, THAT THIS IS INDEED A PROBLEM. WE ARE NOW FORCED TO DRIVE WITH OUR HIGH BEAMS ON AT NIGHT AND ARE CONSTANTLY HAVING TO DIM THEM FOR ONCOMING TRAFFIC. IT SEEMS LIKE REPLACING THE HEADLAMPS WITH THE FACTORY REPLACEMENT IS NOT THE ANSWER AS THOSE HEADLAMPS WOULD BE THE SAME AS WE NOW HAVE IN OUR VEHICLE. THIS PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE RESOLVED BY CADILLAC. LOVE THE CAR, BUT AM AFRAID TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. WE DO NOT WANT TO CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR BECOME A STATISTIC.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CADILLAC SRX. WHILE DRIVING AFTER DUSK, THE HEADLAMPS ILLUMINATED THE ROADWAY INADEQUATELY. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE HEADLAMPS WERE EXTREMELY DIM. KING O'ROURKE BUICK GMC (756 SMITHTOWN BYPASS #102, SMITHTOWN, NY 11787, (631) 240-0639) WAS CONTACTED BY PHONE AND NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS INFORMED OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT CALIFORNIA AND FLORIDA RESIDENTS WERE REIMBURSED FOR REPLACING THE HEADLAMPS IN FULL DUE TO LITIGATION; HOWEVER, OTHER STATES DID NOT FARE AS WELL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 88,000.
THE NORMAL HEADLIGHTS (NOT THE HIGH BEAMS) ARE SO, SO, SO DIM EVEN WITH BRAND NEW BULBS, THE CAR IS INCREDIBLY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. ALMOST CAUSED 2 ACCIDENTS. THIS IS A KNOWN PROBLEM OF THE HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY HOUSING WHICH DETERIORATES ON THE INSIDE (PRESUMABLY CAUSED BY THE MOISTURE GETTING IN AND RUINING THE INSIDE OF THE HOUSING SO THAT VERY LITTLE LIGHT FROM THE BULBS CAN MAKE IT OUT). DO A GOOGLE SEARCH. THERE ARE HUNDREDS OF CUSTOMERS EXPERIENCING THIS SAME EXACT ISSUE. SPOKE TO CADILLAC AND THEY SAID THEY ARE ONLY FIXING IT FOR PEOPLE IN CA AND FL (THEY WERE SUED FOR THIS ISSUE IN BOTH THOSE STATES) BUT REFUSE TO HELP ANYONE FROM ANY OTHER STATE. SOMEONE IS GOING TO DIE IN AN ACCIDENT. THIS IS EXTREMELY, EXTREMELY DANGEROUS SITUATION. THERE ARE ALSO YOUTUBE VIDEOS SHOWING IT AND PAGES AND PAGES OF FORUM POSTS ABOUT IT FROM PEOPLE WHO ALMOST DIED BECAUSE OF IT. I HOPE NHTSA AND/OR GM DOES THE RIGHT THING BEFORE LIVES ARE LOST.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER AND WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE DIAGNOSTIC AND REPAIR FEES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,000.

THE LOW BEAM HEAD LIGHTS OR VERY DIM CAN NOT SEE AT NIGHT DRIVING , IT REALLY BAD I LIVE IN SOUTH CAROLINA WE DON'T HAVE MANY STREET LIGHT ON OUR ROADS. I WISH SOMEONE WOULD DRIVE THESE CARS THAT ON THE BAD LIGHT LIST.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE A SAFETY HAZARD AND DANGEROUS FOR DRIVER AND ANY AND ALL PASSENGERS DRIVING AROUND THIS VEHICLE. THE LIGHT DO NOT ILLUMINATE WELL OR DIM AND THIS PROBLEM IS GOING TO CAUSE ACCIDENT, INJURIES OR DEATHS. DRIVING VEHICLE AT NIGHT YOU CANNOT SEE, IT IS LIKE DRIVING IN THE DARK.
WE NOTICE OUR HIGHLIGHTS WAS VERY DIM FOR MONTHS I CALLED THE CADILLAC DEALERSHIP IN FORT WALTON BEACH FLORIDA AND SPOKE TO SOMEONE IN THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT, THAT SERVICE PERSON CLAIMED HE KNEW NOTHING ABOUT A RECALL ON THE HEADLIGHTS THEN WHEN I TOLD HIM THERE IS A CLASS ACTIONS LAWSUIT ON THE HEADLIGHTS PROBLEM HE PUT ME ON HOLD THEN WHEN HE GOT BACK ON THE LINE HE KNEW ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND TOLD ME TO BRING IN MY CADILLAC AND THEY WOULD WORK OUT SOMETHING MARCH 7, 2019 WE TOOK OUR CADILLAC TO CADILLAC DEALERSHIP IN FORT WALTON BEACH WE SPOKE WITH NICK IN THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT HE TOLD US THERE WAS A BLOCK ON THE WARRANTY FOR THE HEADLIGHTS ISSUED THAT MONDAY, MARCH 4, 2019. AND THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHY. OUR CADILLAC IS STILL UNDER THE BUMPER TO BUMPER WARRANTY UNTIL APRIL 2019 NEXT MONTH! BUT NICK SAID THERE ISN'T ANYTHING THEY CAN DO AND HE WILL TRY AND FIND OUT WHY THERE WAS A BLOCK PLACED ON THE HEADLIGHTS. MONDAY, MARCH 4, 2019. WE WAS GIVEN THE REPORT CALLED 'WORKBENCH' WE SPOKE WITH NICK MARCH 8, 2019 DAVID A MANAGER AT CADILLAC FORT WALTON BEACH CALLED US AND SAID HE RECEIVED A LETTER FROM GM THAT THEY WOULD PAY UP TO SIXTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,600) BUT WE WOULD HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS OUT OF OUR POCKET THEN WOULD BE REIMBURSED BUT BECAUSE THERE IS A BLOCK ON IT THEY CAN'T DO THAT EITHER AND HIS REGIONAL MANAGER AND A DISTRICT MANAGER ARE LOOKING INTO WHY THERE IS A BLOCK ON THE HEADLIGHTS REPAIRS. ON MONDAY, MARCH 11, 2019 DAVID SAID HE WOULD EMAIL US A COPY OF THE LETTER WHICH HAS THE INFORMATION ABOUT THE PAY UPFRONT SIXTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS ($1,600) FOR OUR RECORDS BECAUSE WE NEVER RECEIVED THAT LETTER OR ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THE FAULTY HEADLIGHTS. AT THIS TIME WE HAVE NOT BEEN GIVEN ANY INDICATION THE PROBLEM WILL BE FIXED!
PURCHASED VEHICLE FROM LOCAL DEALER. AFTER PURCHASING I NOTICED HEADLIGHTS WERE VERY DIM. I HAD THEM REPLACE THE LIGHT BULBS. WITHIN 3 MONTHS I'M BACK TO NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE AT ALL. TOOK TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THIS WAS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND THAT'S THE WAY THEY WERE AND TO CALL CADILLAC CUSTOMER SERVICE. NO RESULTS. THEY WANT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE THERE WAS A DEFECT. AFTER FINDING THE LAWSUIT IN CALIFORNIA AND FLORIDA. STILL NO HELP. AT THIS TIME I CANNOT DRIVE THE CAR AFTER DARK AND CADILLAC AND THE DEALER REFUSE TO HELP. THERE IS NO FIX AND THIS IS A DEFECT WITH CADILLAC. SOMEONE IS GOING TO GET KILLED AND THERE TO BLAME.
THE HEADLIGHTS ON THE VEHICLE ARE DEFECTIVE AND DO NOT WORK! THIS IS A HUGE ISSUE AND THERE ARE RECALLS IN SOME STATES BUT NOT WA STATE. DRIVING AT NIGHT IS DANGEROUS AND I AM REALLY SCARED AS I HAVE ALMOST GOTTEN IN MULTIPLE ACCIDENTS! I HAVE HAD THE HEADLIGHTS REPLACED AT THE DEALERSHIP LAST YEAR FOR OVER $300 AND IT DID NOTHING. THEY ACTUALLY SEEM DIMMER. THERE IS A VERIFIED MOISTURE ISSUE AND YOU CAN SEE CONDENSATION IN THE HEADLIGHT. I HAVE KEPT MY VEHICLE ON THE FACTORY RECOMMENDED SERVICE SCHEDULE IN THE 4 YEARS I HAVE OWNED IT AND IT IS SO DANGEROUS TO DRIVE AT NIGHT. REPLACING THE BULBS TO NEWER BETTER ONES DID NOTHING AND THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO. BASED ON THE NUMBER OF COMPLAINTS AND LETTERS SOME OWNERS ARE GETTING THEY ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM. AM I SUPPOSED TO SUE GM WHEN I GET IN AN ACCIDENT OR WORSE DUE TO FAULTY EQUIPMENT THAT THEY ARE AWARE OF? WHY IS NOTHING BEING DONE TO HELP? THIS IS SO DANGEROUS.*DT*JB
HEADLIGHTS TOO DIM. DEALER SAYS FILAMENT IS GONE/MELTED AND LIGHTS NEED TO BE REPLACED FOR $1527.53. THERE IS A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
DRIVING AT NIGHT IS A NIGHTMARE, ESPECIALLY IN THE RAIN. EVERY NIGHT I HAVE FOUND MYSELF STRUGGLING TO SEE THE ROAD. I HAVE TO COUNT ON THE REAR LIGHTS OF THE VEHICLE AHEAD OF ME. RURAL ROADS ARE THE WORSE. I HAVE A CADILLAC BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY AND WELL CRAFTED ENGINEERING, BUT THIS SAFETY ISSUE IS GOING TO KILL SOMEONE. WHY ISN'T THERE A RECALL???
THE HEADLAMPS ARE DEFECTIVE AND DO NOT PROVIDE ADEQUATE LIGHTING AT NIGHT. I REPLACED THE BULBS ON 1/3/2020. THE ISSUE IS NOT THE BULBS IT'S THE LAMPS. I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE THE LAMPS REPLACED BY CADILLAC.
BOTH HEADLIGHTS ARE SO DIM ON LOW BEAM, IT HAS BECAME IMPOSSIBLE TO DRIVE THIS CAR AT NIGHT WITHOUT HAVING THEM ON HIGH BEAM. I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH CONDENSATION DEVELOPING ON THE INSIDE OF THE HEAD LIGHTS SINCE THE CAR WAS PURCHASED. I'VE TRIED BRIGHTER BULBS WITH NO SUCCESS.
LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ARE EXTREMELY DIM. I REPLACED WITH LED BULBS AND NOTHING CHANGED.

WHILE DRIVING OUR CAR AT NIGHT WE ENCOUNTER POOR VISIBILITY TO ALMOST NO VISIBILITY. BRIGHT BEAMS WORK BUT WE CAN'T DRIVE LEGALLY WITH BRIGHT BEAMS ON. THIS HAS OCCURRED ALWAYS AT NIGHT, ON THE HIGHWAY, ON CITY STREETS AND TRAVELING THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS. ON A DARK NIGHT, THE LIGHT CAST IS SO POOR THAT THE LANE LINES ARE NOT VISIBLE. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL NEAR HITS DUE TO THIS PROBLEM AND I WONDER IF OTHER VEHICLES AREN'T SEEING OUR CAR. THIS HEADLIGHT SYSTEM IS DANGEROUS AND COULD BE DEADLY. THE MOST RECENT EPISODE WAS WHILE DRIVING THROUGH THE MOUNTAINS FROM TENNESSEE TO OHIO.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CADILLAC SRX. WHEN THE SEAT WARMER WAS ACTIVATED, THE SEAT CAUGHT FIRE. THE CONTACT'S HUSBAND EXTINGUISHED THE FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BURN ON THE LEFT SIDE OF HER BACK, WHICH DID NOT REQUIRE MEDICAL ATTENTION. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO A DEALER TO BE DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 53,232.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 62,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.

PURCHASED USED 2013 CADILLAC SRX IN 2016. NOTICED THAT NIGHT DRIVING WAS VERY DIFFICULT USING LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS. HIGH BEAMS ARE GREAT. TRIED HEADLIGHT ADJUSTMENTS, CLEANING, ETC. NOTHING HELPED. TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER WHO INFORMED ME THAT HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLIES NEED TO BE REPLACED DUE TO KNOWN INTERNAL LENS DEFECT WHICH SWITCHES WHEN LIGHTS ARE SWITCHED FROM LOW TO HIGH BEAMS. DEALER WANTED $1,350 FOR REPAIRS. TOOK CAR FOR 2ND OPINION. CONFIRMED ISSUE. SHOP WAS ABLE TO INSTALL HIGH INTENSITY BULBS TO SOMEWHAT COMPENSATE FOR THE LUMENS PROJECTED THROUGH THE LENS. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE! I WAS STRUGGLING TO SEE WHILE DRIVING AT NIGHT. I LIVE IN THE COUNTRY AND HAVE LIMITED ACCESS TO LIGHTED STREETS. I ALSO NOTICED A SEVERE INABILITY TO SEE WHEN DRIVING ON WELL LIGHTED HIGHWAYS AT NIGHT BECAUSE MY HEADLIGHT BEAMS PROJECTED NO FURTHER THAN 35 FEET IN FRONT OF MY CAR. PURCHASED A 2013 CADILLAC SRX YESTERDAY FROM LOCAL DEALER. BOTH HEADLIGHTS HAVE VIRTUALLY NO LOW BEAM. AND CAR HAS TO BE DRIVEN WITH LIGHTS ON HI-BEAM WHEN DARK. RESULTING IN A VERY UNSAFE CONDITION FOR ON-COMMING TRAFFIC. INTERNET RESEARCH SHOWS NUMEROUS REPORTS OF OTHERS WITH THE SAME "USELESS LOW BEAM" HEADLIGHT PROBLEM.
THE HEATED SEAT CAUGHT ON FIRE AND BURNED A HOLE THROUGH THE LEATHER SEAT AND HAD TO PUT WATER ON IT TO GET IT OUT. IT WAS ON THE LOWER RIGHT SIDE OF THE BACK WHILE I WAS SITTING IN IT IN A PARKING LOT AND LUCKY I WAS NOT DRIVING OR IT MAY HAVE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT AS IT WAS BURNING A HOLE THROUGH MY COAT AS WELL.
LIGHTING ASSEMBLY IS COMPLETELY OUT ON VEHICLE. I CAN ONLY DRIVE WITH BRIGHT LIGHTS ON. I HAVE WENT OFF THE ROAD SEVERAL TIMES,DUE TO LIGHTING. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL CHECKS FROM CADILLAC AND WAS TOLD I NEED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE LIGHTING ASSEMBLY, BUT IS A WASTE BECAUSE IT WILL GO OUT AGAIN IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS.
THE LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS ON OUR 2013 CADILLAC SRX, WHICH WE PURCHASED NEW IN NOVEMBER, 2012, ARE PRACTICALLY UNUSABLE FOR NIGHT TIME DRIVING. THE LIGHT OUTPUT IS EXTREMELY LOW EVEN AFTER REPLACING THE BULBS WITH SYLVANIA ZXE BULBS AND THEN, AFTER THESE WERE INEFFECTIVE, LED REPLACEMENTS. DRIVING THIS VEHICLE IN LOW LIGHT CONDITIONS IS COMPLETELY UNSAFE UNLESS THE HIGH BEAMS ARE USED, WHICH THEN CAUSES ISSUES TO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THERE ARE NUMEROUS SIMILAR OCCURRENCES READILY FINDABLE THROUGH INTERNET SEARCHES. IT APPEARS THAT GM SHOULD DETERMINE AND PROVIDE A LONG TERM SOLUTION TO THIS SAFETY ISSUE THAT HAS BEEN A NOTICEABLE ISSUE WITH OUR VEHICLE FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS.
I WAS IN THE PARKING LOT OF A PUBLIC GYM AT APPROXIMATELY 6:00AM, TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 20TH, 2018. I STARTED MY CAR AND TURNED ON MY SEAT WARMER AS I WAS LEAVING THE GYM. WITHIN 30-45 SECONDS, I FELT A HOT SPOT BURNING MY LOWER BACK AREA. I IMMEDIATELY TURNED OFF THE SEAT WARMER, AND I STARTED TO SMELL BURNT RUBBER. THE BURNED AREA OF ABOUT THE SIZE OF A DIME WAS BURNED INTO THE LOWER PORTION OF THE DRIVER'S SEAT. THIS CAUSED TWO CIGARETTE SIZED HOLES TO BURN INTO MY JACKET THAT I WAS WEARING AS WELL. CADILLAC WAS CONTACTED (CASE #[XXX]) AND THEY WERE NOT FORTHCOMING IN INFORMING ME THAT THEY HAVE HAD PREVIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THIS ISSUE. THIS COULD HAVE BEEN A CATASTROPHIC EVENT IF I HAD NOT BEEN THERE TO TURN OFF THE SEAT WARMER. AFTER SEARCHING THE INTERNET, THIS HAS HAPPENED TO MULTIPLE OTHER CADILLAC SRX 2013 OWNERS. AT FIRST I THOUGHT HAVING THE DIM HEADLIGHTS REPLACED WOULD SOLVE THE PROBLEM, BUT I AM HESITANT BECAUSE THE DEALERSHIP QUOTED US A PRICE WELL OVER $1,000 AND INFORMED US THAT IT PROBABLY WOULD NOT SOLVE THE PROBLEM DUE TO A MOISTURE BARRIER DEFECT IN THE HEADLIGHTS AND THE WORK WOULD NOT BE GUARANTEED AFTER THAT I'VE RESEARCHED ONLINE AND IT APPEARS THAT A LOT OF CADILLAC SRX OWNERS ARE REPORTING THE SAME PROBLEM. WE ARE HAVING TO USE HIGH BEAM HEADLIGHTS AT NIGHT DUE TO THIS SAFETY ISSUE WITH THE CADILLAC SRX FLAWED HEADLIGHT DESIGN WHICH IS VERY UNSAFE FOR THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC. THIS HAPPENS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION OR STOPPED. THIS IS EVERY NIGHT ON ANY ROAD OR HIGHWAY WE HAPPEN TO BE ON AND IN ANY TOWN OR CITY WE HAVE TRAVELED TO.
THE LOW BEAMS HAVE A VERY LOW OUTPUT. I HAVE REPLACED THE BULBS WITH THE HIGHEST OUTPUT BULBS THE AUTO PARTS STORE HAS WHICH DID NOT IMPROVER THE LOW BEAM OUTPUT. THIS MAKES IT VERY DANGEROUS DRIVING AT NIGHT. I HAVE TO USE MY BRIGHT LIGHTS TO SEE AT NIGHT. THIS IS A CONSTANT PROBLEM AND IT DOES NOT MATER WHAT TYPE OF ROAD OR IF THE VEHICLE IS MOVING.
