TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH SHE LOST POWER STEERING WITHOUT ANY PRIOR WARNINGS. AS A CONSEQUENCE SHE COULD NOT TURN THE STEERING COLUMN. THE VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED BY THE DEALERSHIP. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 38000.
WHETHER YOU ARE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD OR MAKING A TURN AND YOUR POWER STEERING ALL OF A SUDDEN GOES OUT IT IS VERY SCARY. MY CAR HAS BEEN DOING THIS FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND THERE ARE TIMES THAT IT IS VERY HARD TO MANAGE. THERE HAS BEEN ALOT OF SNOW LATELY WHICH JUST MAKES EVERYTHING WORSE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. HE STATED THE STEERING LOOSES POWER AND IT CANNOT BE TURNED LEFT OR RIGHT. HE DOESN'T RECALL IF THE POWER STEERING LIGHT ILLUMINATED BEFORE THE FAILURE. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER REPLACED THE POWER STEERING MOTOR AND CLEARED THE CODES .TOTAL COST FOR REPAIR WAS $346.26. HE CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER. THE MANUFACUTER SENT HIM A LETTER INFORMING HIM THAT HE WAS DENIED REIMBURSEMENT, BECAUSE THE PART THAT WAS REPLACED ON HIS VEHICLE WAS NOT THE PART THAT WAS INCLUDED IN THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 64,929 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE 75,000.
POWER STEERING ON 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT WITH JUST OVER 49,000 MILES WENT OUT WHILE 16 YEAR OLD SON WAS DRIVING. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 60 MPH ON NORMAL ROAD CONDITIONS; THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKED WITHOUT WARNING. THE "POWER STEERING" WARNING LIGHT INDICATOR ALSO ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL AND THERE WAS DIFFICULTY STEERING THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE INTO THE EMERGENCY LANE WITH CAUTION. THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF, INCLUDING THE ILLUMINATION OF THE "POWER STEERING" WARNING, THE ENGINE RESTARTED AND THE VEHICLE RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE IDENTICAL FAILURE OCCURRED ON FOUR OCCASIONS. THE CONTACT IS IN THE PROCESS OF TAKING THE VEHICLE TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE CONTACT HAD CONCERNS OF THE SAFETY RISK INVOLVED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 44,000. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT LS. WHILE REVERSING OUT OF PARKING SPACE , SHE EXPERIENCED A LOSS OF POWER STEERING. SHE RESTARTED THE VEHICLE AND RESUMED NORMAL OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR INSPECTION. THE TECHNICIAN WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. AFTER THE INSPECTION THE FAILURE WOULD OCCUR WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 47,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
I AM WRITING BECAUSE I DID GET THE RECALL ON MY VEHICLE OF THE POWER STEERING , THE MOTOR KIT WAS FIXED ON 8/12/10.I TOOK MY CAR TO MIDAS ON 10/24/2009 FOR A NOISE BUMPING NOISE COMING FROM MY VEHICLE AND FUEL/OIL LEAKING. THEY SAID IT WAS MY STRUTS, AND THEY HAD TO BE REPLACED. I PAID $500.31 FOR THAT REPAIR ALL RECEIPTS AND INVOICES ON HAND. ON 4/25/2011 I TOOK MY CAR TO TIRE DISCOUNTERS ONLY TO FIND THAT I NEEDED 2 LOWER CONTROL ARM BUSHINGS(7) LABOR FOR SUSPENSION SERVICE. MY TOTAL COST WAS $339.12. I JUST PULLED UP RECALLS ON MY VEHICLE AND I NOTICED THAT PEOPLE WHERE SAYING THERE STRUTS HAD TO BE REPLACED TO AND THE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THEIR POWER STEERING SUSPENSION. FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN A FAULTY POWER STEERING IS A COMPONENT OF A LARGER THE LARGER SUSPENSION AND IF LEFT UNFIXED IT COULD LEAD TO OTHER MAJOR PROBLEMS. IF THIS IS TRUE WHY ARE WE NOT GETTING REIMBURSED FOR THESE VERY EXPENSIVE REPAIRS? I SAW WHERE THEY MAY HAVE RECALLED THE WHOLE SUSPENSION, SO DOES THAT MEAN THAT I CAN GET THESE REPAIRS REIMBURSED? *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE POWER STEERING MOTOR IN THE STEERING COLUMN SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 25 MPH. THE DRIVER HAD TO RESTART THE VEHICLE TO TEMPORARILY CORRECT THE FAILURE. HE OPENED A CASE WITH THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS ALSO REFERRED TO A DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A PRIVATE SERVICE STATION AND HE WAS INFORMED OF THE CORRECT TERMINOLOGY FOR THE FAILURE BY A MECHANIC. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 31,650. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 31,600.
I OWN A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT AND IT WAS FIXED AT THE GARAGE. *TR
I AM THE NOT SO PROUD OWNER OF A 2007 CHEVY COBALT. I HAVE LESS THAN 30,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND HAVE ALREADY HAD THE HEAD GASKET REPLACED. UPON DOING SOME RESEARCH TO SEE IF THIS WAS A COMMON PROBLEM, I FOUND THAT THE POWER STEERING FAILURE ISSUE IS HUGE!!!! I HAVE NOT HAD THE PROBLEM MYSELF, BUT KNOW A COUPLE OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE AND AS I'M SURE YOU ARE AWARE, THERE ARE HUNDREDS AND HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE WHO HAVE. SOME HAVE GOTTEN INTO ACCIDENTS, OTHERS WERE EXTREMELY LUCKY. WHAT WILL IT TAKE TO GET CHEVY TO ANNOUNCE A RECALL? WILL IT TAKE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE? HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL HAVE TO DIE TO HAVE THIS TAKEN CARE OF. DRIVING THE CHEVY COBALT IS LIKE DRIVING A TIME BOMB......JUST WAITING FOR ANYTHING TO FREEZE UP AND MAKE DRIVING A NIGHTMARE. PLEASE GET WITH CHEVY AND ISSUE A RECALL. I REALLY HOPE SOMETHING GETS DOWN ABOUT THIS ISSUE AND SOON. THERE ARE MANY, MANY NEW, INEXPERIENCED DRIVERS BEHIND THE WHEEL OF THIS CAR. DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WITH MY 2 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER IN THE CAR, AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE POWER STEERING ON MY 2007 CHEVY COBALT LS WENT OUT. ALMOST CAUSED A PILE UP AS IT WAS ON A BUSY, MAIN ROAD. IT WAS WORKING OKAY IF YOU TURN THE CAR OFF THEN ON, BUT NOW IT'S STALLING EVERY MINUTE OR TWO. I HAVE READ THIS IS AN ONGOING PROBLEM WITH THE CHEVY COBALT. I DON'T UNDERSTAND, WILL IT TAKE LIVES BEING LOST FOR THIS PROBLEM TO BE TAKEN SERIOUSLY? I AM TAKING IT TO THE DEALER TOMORROW AND SINCE IT'S UNDER WARRANTY I AM ASSUMING THEY WILL REPLACE WHAT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, BUT AS I HAVE READ IN OTHER'S COMPLAINTS THAT ISN'T ANY GUARANTEE THAT IT WILL STAY FIXED. *TR
THE POWER STEERING ON MY 2007 COBALT WENT OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING AT 45 MPH ON A CURVY ROAD. I TURNED OFF THE CAR AND WHEN I STARTED IT BACK UP IT WAS WORKING AGAIN. I THEN STARTED BACK HOME AND IT WENT OUT AGAIN. THE CAR IS VERY HARD TO STEER WHEN IT GOES OUT. I HAVE CALLED THE DEALERSHIP TO SET AN APPOINTMENT UP TO HAVE IT WORKED ON. I BOUGHT THE EXTENDED WARRANTY WHEN I BOUGHT THE CAR NEW. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. ON TWO OCCASIONS WHILE DRIVING THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATES ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL, AND THEN THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THE DEALER REPLACED THE ELECTRICAL STEERING MOTOR, THE MODULE. AND THE POWER STEERING COLUMN . ON OCTOBER 14, 2009 WHILE LEAVING THE DEALER, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,818. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 62,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. WHILE DRIVING 50 MPH. THE POWER STEERING WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT CONTROL PANEL, AND THEN SHE LOST POWER STEERING. SHE WAS ABLE TO SAFELY RESTART THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER SHE CONTINUED TO EXPERIENCE DIFFICULT STEERING. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING TAKEN TO THE DEALER, AND CONTACTING THE MANUFACTURER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 42,359.
I AM VERY UPSET AT THE FACT THAT I JUST READ ALL THE COMPLAINTS ON THE ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING IN THE CHEVROLET COBALT. THE SAME PROBLEM I HAVE. I WORK AND PAY MONTHLY PAYMENTS ON A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT LS THAT IS HAVING THESE PROBLEMS. GM SHOULD DO SOMETHING, OR IS IT GOING TO BE WHEN SOMEONE DIES AS A RESULT OF THIS. STEERING IS A VERY IMPORTANT COMPONENT TO A VEHICLE. I REFUSE TO PAY THE LARGE AMOUNT OF MONEY THAT IT'S GOING TO COST TO GET IT FIXED AND THE DEALER CAN'T PROMISE IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN. PEOPLE INVEST MONEY INTO A NEWER CAR NOT TO HAVE TO PAY FOR PROBLEMS THIS EARLY ON!. I DRIVE A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT LS. THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING BEGAN TO CLICK OFF AND ON THEN THIS PAST MONTH HAS GONE COMPLETELY OFF. IT IS EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO STEER MY CAR WHICH CAN LEAD TO AN ACCIDENT AND/OR HARM TO MYSELF. I NEED TO GET TO AND FROM WORK AND CAN NOT AFFORD TO NOT DRIVE MY CAR. CALLED DEALER, TOLD NOTHING TO DO ABOUT EITHER ONE, THEY DON'T KNOW OF ANY PROBLEMS WITH THE CAR. SUGGESTED I REPLACE TIRES AND GET A FRONT END-ALIGNMENT, WHICH I DID. THE PROBLEM PERSISTS. CALLED DEALER AGAIN AND WAS GIVEN ABSOLUTELY NO INFORMATION OR OFFER TO FIND OUT WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE, EVEN AT MY EXPENSE. *TW

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE HAVING THE VEHICLE REPAIRED FOR A RECALL THAT THE ARM BROKE ON BOTH SIDES. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 8,200. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS NOT AVAILABLE. BOUGHT THE CAR IN MAY 2008, SINCE THEN WITHIN ONE YEAR WE REPLACED TIRES ON FRONT 3 AND NEEDING A 4TH TIME NOW. BRAKES AND ROTORS ALSO HAVE BEEN CHANGED 3 TIMES EACH AND STILL HAVING TROUBLE AT 55 MILES AN HOUR SHAKES AND SOME LOSE OF CONTROL. PROBLEM NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED BUT DEALER AND CHEVY SAYS NOTHING!! VEHICLES TIRES ARE LOSING TREAD ON THE FRONT OUTSIDE OF THE TIRES. *TR

A CHIME SENSOR SOUNDED INSIDE OF THE VEHICLE AND THE "POWER STEERING" WARNING LIGHT INDICATOR ILLUMINATED ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. IMMEDIATELY, THERE WAS A LOSS OF POWER STEERING. THE DRIVER PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD. THE ENGINE WAS TURNED OFF. THE VEHICLE RESTARTED AND RESUMED OPERATION. THE FAILURE OCCURRED WHENEVER THE VEHICLE WAS IN OPERATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED FOR THE MALFUNCTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,500.
THE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING ASSISTS GOES OUT WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING AND STAYS OFF UNTIL THE CARS IS TURNED OFF AND RESTARTED. ONCE THE CAR HAS BEEN RESTARTED THE POWER ASSIST STAYS ON FOR AN INDETERMINATE PERIOD OF TIME BEFORE GOING OUT AGAIN. THIS HAPPENED FOUR TIMES TODAY ALONE. THIS HAS HAPPENED WHILE TRAVELING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS FROM 25MPH TO 65 MPH. IT DOESN'T SEEM TO BE TRIGGERED BY THE AMOUNT OF TIME OR MILES DRIVEN AND IS TOTALLY UNEXPECTED. WHEN THE POWER STEERING ASSIST GOES OUT STEERING BECOMES IMMEDIATELY STIFF AND REQUIRES QUITE AN EFFORT. IF THIS WERE TO HAPPEN WHILE ENTERING A SHARPE TURN IT COULD EASILY HAVE TRAGIC CONSEQUENCES. *TR
I BOUGHT A 2007 CHEVY COBALT LS FROM STEARNS CHEVROLET IN GRAHAM, NC IN JUNE 2009 WITH JUST A LITTLE OVER 32K MI. SOME WHERE BETWEEN 45K & 50K MI. MY POWER STEERING BEGAN TO RANDOMLY GO OUT. THE FIRST TIME, I WAS IN FIRST GEAR SWITCHING TO SECOND ON A RIGHT HAND TURN. SINCE THEN, IT HAPPENS EXTREMELY RANDOMLY, USUALLY IN TOWN WHERE I HAVE TO SWITCH GEARS THE MOST. IF APPROPRIATE, I CAN USUALLY JUST POP IN THE CLUTCH & RESTART THE VEHICLE & IT RESETS THE MOTOR AND EVERYTHING IS FINE FOR A WHILE, SOMETIMES IT JUST GOES RIGHT BACK OUT. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THE CAR BUT I HAVE NO CHOICE. I TOOK THE CAR TO THE DEALER I BOUGHT IT FROM (WHICH IS NOW CLOSED) AND IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE POWER STEERING MOTOR IN MY ELECTRIC POWER STEERING SYSTEM HAD GONE BAD AND GM AGREED TO PAY 1/3 OF THE $700 TO FIX IT. I DID NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO FIX IT. *TR

POWER STEERING FAILED. TURNED OFF THE CAR RESTARTED AND IT HAPPENED AGAIN IN LESS THAN FIVE MINUTES. *TR
I HAVE A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. AT THE TIME OF THE PROBLEM, IT HAD APPROXIMATELY 47,750 MILES. AS I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD THE CHECK POWER STEERING MESSAGE CAME ACROSS THE DIC. AT THAT POINT IT WAS NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN THE CAR AS THE POWER STEERING HAD FAILED. I DROVE THE VEHICLE HOME AND PARKED IT FOR THE NIGHT. WHEN I WENT OUT THE NEXT DAY TO DRIVE TO WORK, I TURNED THE CAR ON AND THE POWER STEERING WORKED JUST AS IT DID THE DAY I PURCHASED THE CAR. UPON TAKING IT TO THE DEALER AND HAVING THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST RUN ON IT, THEY SAID IT APPEARED THAT THERE WAS A FAILURE IN THE POWER STEERING MOTOR. *TR
I WAS DRIVING BACK FROM WORK AND I HAD THE POWER STEERING FAIL ON MY CAR. I PULLED OVER AND SHUT THE CAR OFF, WHEN I RESTARTED THE CAR EVERYTHING WAS FINE. AROUND 46,000 MILES ON MY 2007 CHEVY COBALT I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY DRIVING TO A DIFFERENT TOWN, WHEN GOING TO TURN MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. I FILED A COMPLAINT TO CHEVROLET BUT SOMEONE TOLD ME TO DO IT HERE TOO. *TR
WE WERE DRIVING THROUGH A PARKING LOT ABOUT 10 MILES AN HOUR WHEN MY POWER STEERING WENT OUT. WE HEARD A BEEPING SOUND AND COULD NOT TURN THE WHEEL. THERE WAS A CAR COMING TOWARDS US AND WE STARTED FREAKING OUT AND TO SWERVE TO MISS THEM SO WE WOULD NOT WRECK. WE HAD NO CHOICE TO PULL OVER AND TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHAT WAS WRONG, BUT SINCE IT IS ELECTRIC WE COULD NOT FIND WHAT WAS WRONG. SINCE THIS HAPPENED AWAY FROM OUR HOUSE I MISSED WORK. THIS PROBLEM OCCURRED FOR ABOUT FOUR DAYS BEFORE WE COULD GET IT FIXED. WE TOOK IT TO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND THEY SAID THEY WERE UNABLE TO HELP BECAUSE IT WAS NOT UNDER WARRANTY. WE WERE ALSO TOLD THAT THE DEALERSHIP COULD NOT HELP BECAUSE NO ONE WAS IN A WRECK OR HURT. THE DEALERSHIP WANTED TO CHARGE US 1200 DOLLARS. WE ENDED UP TAKING IT SOMEWHERE ELSE FOR 800 DOLLARS. WE HAD TO BUY A NEW POWER STEERING COLUMN AND THE PART OF THE ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING. *TR
POWER LOSS WHILE DRIVING, BUT THE CAR NEVER COMPLETELY STOPS IT GOES BUT AT A SLOWER SPEED THEN USUAL. I THOUGHT MAYBE I WAS DOING SOMETHING WRONG UNTIL THEY RELEASE THE REPORT. MY WHEEL BECOMES HARD TO TURN, SO I THOUGHT I ONLY NEEDED SOME POWER STEERING BUT I HAD PLENTY IN THE CONTAINER. IT HAPPENS ATLEAST 2 TIMES EVERY OTHER MONTH. *TR
WHILE DRIVING MY CHEVROLET COBALT THE POWER STEERING WILL CUT OUT. THE ONLY WAY TO GET IT TO COME BACK ON IS TO TURN THE IGNITION OFF AND START IT BACK UP. YOU DO NOT HAVE TO TURN THE CAR OFF, JUST TO ACC. THANKFULLY THIS HAS ONLY HAPPENED TO ME WHILE I HAD TO NEGOTIATE TURNS AT SLOW SPEEDS AND STRAIGHT ROADS OF 45+. I WOULD NOT LIKE THIS PROBLEM TO OCCUR WHILE I AM ON THE HIGHWAY AT SPEEDS OF 55+. *TR
FAILURE OF POWER STEERING IN 2007 CHEVY COBALT. I HAVE BEEN DRIVING AND THE COMPUTER ALERT FLASHES SAYING POWER STEERING AND THE STEERING WHEEL LOCKS AND BECOMES NOT MOVABLE. THIS HAS HAPPEN TO ME TWICE. THE MECHANIC HAS REPLACED A BLOWN FUSE AND THE PROBLEM CAME ABOUT AGAIN. THE STEERING COLUMN WILL NOW BE REPLACED. *TR
I AM HAVING AN INCIDENT WITH MY POWER STEERING LOCKING UP IN MY 2007 CHEVY COBALT AND I HAVE REPLACED THE GEAR BOX NOV OF 2008 AND IT IS BACK TO DOING IT AGAIN. WE OWN 2007 COBALT OUR DAUGHTER DRIVES. SHE STARTED COMPLAINING IN SEP '09 OF A GAS SMELL BUT WE REALLY DIDN'T PAY HER ANY MIND. THEN, ABOUT 6 WKS. AGO WHEN SHE HAD TO DRIVE ME TO AN APPT. I COULD REALLY SMELL THE GAS FUMES. IT MADE ME SICK. I CALLED HUFFINES CHEVROLET LEWISVILLE,TX (WHERE WE GOT THE CAR) & WAS TOLD HER VIN # DIDN'T HAVE A RECALL. HE DIDN'T DO ANYTHING ELSE. THEN, I CALLED A DEALER IN FRISCO,TX WHERE MY DAUGHTER LIVES. THE MECHANIC DEPT. LOOKED UP HER VIN & SAID "NO RECALL FOR THAT VIN # BUT YOU HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY WE CAN FIX IT." SO, AT NO CHARGE IT WAS TAKEN CARE OF. THEN, A FEW WEEKS LATER I GET A RECALL FOR THE MRA TO BE REPLACED AS IT CAN BE DANGEROUS?! LETTER STATES THAT IF THERE IS A CRACK, FUEL CAN LEAK & THERE COULD BE A FIRE?! BESIDES THE RECALL YOU HAVE JUST ISSUED FOR THE POWER STEERING "WHY DON'T YOU MAKE SURE RECALLS ARE SENT OUT IN A TIMELY MANNER FOR MRA PARTS IN COBALT'S AS WELL ESPECIALLY AS DANGEROUS AS IT CAN BE!!! I WAS TOLD THAT HER VIN# FELL THROUGH THE CRACKS IN YOUR SYSTEM & THAT'S WHY OUR CAR VIN # DIDN'T GET A RECALL? ANYTHING TO DO WITH A LEAK IN THE FUEL AREA IS A VERY HAZARDOUS ISSUE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE POWER STEERING MOTOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 48877. DEFECTIVE FRONT WHEEL BEARING HUB ASSEMBLY FOR CHEVY COBALTS 2007. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET COBALT. APPROXIMATELY SIX MONTHS AFTER HE NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WAS LOOSE AND BEFORE THE STEERING FAILED AND THE POWER STEERING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THERE WAS ALSO A NOISE IN THE STEERING WHEEL. HE TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER. THE DEALER RESET THE COMPUTER, BUT THE FAILURE WAS NOT CORRECTED. WHEN HE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER HE STATED THAT THERE WAS NOTHING TO BE WORRIED ABOUT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,000. THE VIN INFORMATION WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
