CAR WILL REFUSE TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK DURING NORMAL START. CAR WILL REFUSE TO SHIFT OUT OF PARK WHEN IN ACC MODE. PROBLEM IS NON DETERMINISTIC AND MAY BE RELATED TO VOLTAGES AND/OR RESISTANCES AND/OR FAULTY PARTS IN SYSTEM. CAR IS RENDERED NON-OPERABLE AND REQUIRES TOWING OR REPEATED ATTEMPTS TO RELEASE GEAR TRAIN OVER A VARIABLE PERIOD OF TIME. THIS SEEMS TO BE A WELL KNOWN MANUFACTURING DEFECT NOT ADDRESSED BY THE MANUFACTURER
THE SHIFTER IS CONNECTED TO THE TRANSMISSION WITH A 4 FOOT CABLE, THIS CABLE IS HOUSED IN THE DRIVE SHAFT TUNNEL, THE CABLE HAS A PLASTIC BUSHING ON BOTH ENDS, THE HEAT IN THE TUNNEL BAKES THE PLASTIC BUSHING THAT CONNECTS THE SHIFTER TO THE TRANSMISSION CABLE, MY BUSHING BROKE INTO PIECES AND THE CAR COULD NOT SHIFT INTO OR OUT OF GEAR. MANY CORVETTES IN THE C5,C6 & C7 MODES HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE AND ARE FAILING EVERYDAY. MY CAR WAS IN THE GARAGE IN PARK, I HAD DRIVEN IT EARLIER IN THE DAY, I STARED THE CAR AND THE SHIFTER WOULD MOVE, BUT THE PLASTIC BUSHING HAD BROKEN INTO PIECES DUE TO THE HEAT FAILURE. I KNOW OF THE HAPPENING TO 4 OTHER CORVETTES AND THE SHOP I TOOK MY CAR TO WAS RECEIVING OTHER CALLS ON THE SAME ISSUE.
AS OF DECEMBER 2018, ALL CARS WITH NAVIGATION SYSTEMS THAT HAVE AN INCORPORATED CLOCK, CLOCKS STOPPED WORKING, THE REASON IS SUPPOSABLY DUE TO A CHANGE IN THE GOVERNMENT SATELLITE TECHNOLOGY. SO THERE IS NO WAY TO CORRECT THIS WITHOUT A SOFTWARE FIX, THIS PROBLEM IS NOT ONLY ON THE 2006 CORVETTE, BUT MANY OTHER CARS AS WELL
FUEL SYSTEM LEAK FROM TANK AND OR FUEL PUMP. CAR CRANKS, WONT START, STRONG ODOR OF FUEL COMING FROM TANK. MOSTLY HAPPENS AFTER FILLING TANK AND AT TIMES WHILE CAR IS IN MOTION.
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION SHIFT LOCK SOLENOID FAILS, PREVENTING TRANS. TO LOCK INTO PARK AND OR CAN'T PLACE TRANSMISSION IN PARK. GM CORRECTED THIS CONDITION STARTING WITH VIN NUMBER 75405780, VIN NUMBERS BEFORE THAT STILL CONTINUE TO HAVE THIS SAFETY CONDITION
SHIFTER STIFF AND IS VERY HARD TO SHIFT INTO GEAR ON AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
I WAS DRIVING IN S 35 MPH ZONE AND IT CHANGED TO 45 MPH. I WAS IN 2 OR 3RD GEAR AND HAS JUST STARTED UP A SLIGHT INCLINE AND I WAS INCREASING SPEED WHEN THE CAR MADE A SUDDEN JERK AND LOUD ALMOST A BANG. I DEPRESSED THE CLUTCH AND IT STAYED ON THE FLOOR. I THOUGH THAT THE CLUTCH HAD CAME APART AND I PULLED THE PEDAL UP TO SEE WHAT WAS GOING ON. THE ENGINE AT THAT POINT WAS RUNNING VERY ROUGH AND WOULD NOT HOLD SPEED OR ACCELERATE. I PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND GOT MY WIFE TO PICK ME UP. I THEN GOT MY PICKUP AND TRAILER AND TOOK THE CAR TO CLASSIC CHEVROLET. THEY FOUND WHERE THE VALVE HAD DROPPED INTO THE CYLINDER AND CAUSED DAMAGE TO THE PISTON AND ROD. I LOOKED AT THE ENGINE WHILE TORE DOWN AND NOTICED WHAT APPEARED TO ME TO BE A CRACK IN THE CYLINDER WALL AND POINTED IT OUT, THE FORMAN SAID THE HAD CHECKED IT AND DIDN'T FEEL THAT IT WAS A CRACK. THEY ADVISED ME TO GET A NEW HEAD AND HAVE THE OTHER HEAD WORKED ON AS WELL AS A PISTON, ETC. I DID THAT AND HAD THE CAR REPAIRED. WHEN THE CAR JERKED IT ALSO AFFECTED THE PRESSURE PLATE SO I HAD THAT REPLACED. AFTER I GOT THE CAR BACK I NOTICED IT WAS SMOKING WHITE VAPOR WHENEVER I STARTED IT. I TOOK IT BACK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THE TESTED IT AND SURE ENOUGH IT WAS A CRACK IN THE CYLINDER. I THEN HAD THE MOTOR REPLACED AND THE DEALERSHIP WAS VERY FAIR AND CREDITED THE EARLIER WORK AGAINST THE MOTOR. WHEN THE MOTOR LET LOOSE, THE CAR LOCKED THE BACK WHEELS AND THE CAR BEHIND ME HAD TO MAKE A RATHER QUICK STOP AND DODGE ME SO AS NOT TO HAVE A WRECK.
AIR BAG LIGHT COMES ON FREQUENTLY DURING NORMAL DRIVING. CAR HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT AND IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION OTHERWISE. AIR BAG LIGHT WILL TURN OFF INTERMITTENTLY DURING NORMAL DRIVING WITH NO EXPLANATION.
CYLINDER HEAD VALVE GUIDES WORN REQUIRING REPLACEMENT BEFORE WARRANTY EXPIRATION. IF NOT REPAIRED CATASTROPHIC MOTOR FAILURE CAN OCCUR. IF THIS HAPPENS CAR BECOMES UNCONTROLLABLE WITH OIL AND COOLANT FLOODING OUT OF MOTOR. NEW HEADS WERE ORDERED FROM THE FACTORY AND THEY WERE OUT OF SPECIFICATION AND NEEDED MODIFICATION BEFORE INSTALLED. PREVIOUS 2008 CORVETTE (UNKNOWN VIN BUT CAN BE FOUND AT DEALERSHIP WHERE SERVICED HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM LEADING TO THE ABOVE MENTIONED FAILURE AND UNCONTROLLED VEHICLE CONDITION. THIS HAPPENED ON AN OFFLOAD VENUE SO THERE WAS NO ACCIDENT REPORT. I DON NOT KNOW THE EXACT DATES BUT ENTERED A DATE AS REQUIRED BELOW.
GAS TANK IS LEAKING A LOT
I FILLED UP MY GAS TANK AND WHEN GETTING BACK INTO THE CAR I NOTICED A STRONG GAS ODOR, SO STRONG THAT I HAD TO ROLL THE WINDOWS DOWN IN THE RAIN. THE SMELL WAS ESPECIALLY BAD WHEN I CAME TO A STOP. I JUST LOOKED ONLINE TO SEE IF OTHERS ARE HAVING THIS PROBLEM AND IT SEEMS THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE WITH THE C6 CORVETTE. THIS IS EXTREMELY UNSETTLING, CONSIDERING MANY OF US PARK OUR CARS IN GARAGES WITH PILOT LIGHTS AND OTHER SOURCES OF SPARK/FLAME. I'LL BE CONTACTING GM.
I SMELL GAS COMING FROM MY GAS TANK, ESPECIALLY AFTER A FILLUP. THE CAP HAS BEEN REPLACED. NO SPILLAGE OCCURS WHEN FILLING UP BUT YET THE SMELL PERSISTS UNTIL I GET BELOW A HALF A TANK. OTHERS IN THE CORVETTE WORLD WHO OWN A C6 CORVETTE HAVE COMPLAINED OF THE SAME THING AND HAVE DISCOVERED IT IS DUE TO A FAULTY SEAL IN BETWEEN THE TANK AND FILLER, PERHAPS THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY. VERY DANGEROUS FIRE HAZARD.
I SMELL GAS AFTER FILLING UP. GOES AWAY AFTER THE TANK IS BELOW HALF FULL. SPOKE WITH OTHER C6 CORVETTE OWNERS WITH THE SAME PROBLEM AND IT HAS TO DO WITH A FAULTY GAS TANK FILLER CAUSE BY PLASTIC PARTS OF THE NECK FILLER CRACKING.
SMELL FUEL AFTER FILLLUP
MY AUTOMATIC SHIFTER GETS STUCK IN PARK. I ALREADY HAD THE DEALERSHIP REPLACE THE SHIFTER A FEW YEARS AGO BUT THE PROBLEM STILL REMAINS. ONCE I START THE CAR, THE SYSTEM DOES NOT TELL THE SHIFTER TO UNLOCK AND THEREFORE I CAN NOT GET IT IN GEAR. I HAVE TO PLAY WITH IT SEVERAL TIME. IT MAY TAKE LESS THAN 1 MINUTE TO ENGAGE WHILE AT OTHER TIMES IT MAY TAKE 5 MINUTES. I HAVE READ IN THE CORVETTE FORUM THAT IT IS HAPPENING TO QUITE A FEW CORVETTE OWNERS. THIS IS HAPPENING MUCH MORE FREQUENTLY THAN BEFORE.
EVERY TIME I PUT FUEL IN THE CAR THERE IS A STRONG GAS SMELL BY THE CAR THAT LINGERS FOR A LONG TIME.
4/2015 CAR WAS AT DEALERSHIP FOR BODY WORK, WHILE IT WAS THERE, RECALL WORK WAS SUPPOSED TO BE DONE, GM RECALL 123146, I WAS TOLD THAT THIS WAS DONE AND IT WAS REPORTED TO GM AS "WORK DONE" FAST FORWARD TO 8/2018 CAR WAS DRIVEN AT NIGHT AND LOSS OF LOW BEAM HEADLIGHTS WAS EXPERIENCED, SAME THING HAPPENED NEXT DAY. THESE ARE THE SYMPTOMS OF THE RECALL BEFORE "THE FIX" UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION IT WAS FOUND THAT THE RECALL WAS NOT DONE. I HAVE PICTURES OF THE FUSE BOX AND I HAVE PICTURES OF WHAT ITS SUPPOSED TO LOOK LIKE WHEN THE FIX IS DONE.
OVERWHELMING FUEL ODOR AFTER SHUTTING CAR OFF AND HOUSING IT IN THE GARAGE OR OUTSIDE. ESPECIALLY NOTICEABLE IN SUMMER WHEN ETHANOL IS ADDED TO FUEL - HEAVY SMELL OF NAIL POLISH REMOVER INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE CAR. FUEL VAPOR LEAK FROM GAS TANK REQUIRES $2,678.87 REPAIR. FUEL VAPOR BUILDUP INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND/OR GARAGE AND HOUSE ARE A FIRE HAZARD AS WELL AS A HEALTH HAZARD. OTHER OWNERS HAVE COMPLAINED OF SIMILAR PROBLEM ON THE CORVETTE FORUM. 3 DAYS AGO I FILLED UP MY C6 AT THE GAS STATION AND EVER SINCE THEN IT HAS BEEN I VERY STRONG SMELL OF GAS AND IT HAS YET TO GO AWAY EVEN WHEN THE CAR HAS NOT BEEN DRIVEN IT STILL SMELLS LIKE GAS
DRIVERS AIRBAG RED LIGHT ON INSTRUMENT PANEL STAYS ON FREQUENTLY. MOST OF THE TIME IT STAYS LIT AFTER STARTING THE CAR. I HAVE HAD IT POP ON AFTER HITTING A BUMP A COUPLE TIMES.
I BOUGHT THIS CAR THE OTHER DAY AND ON THE WAY HOME I STOPPED AT THE GAS STATION AND FILLED MY CAR UP TO 3/4 OF A TANK. WHEN I GOT HOME THERE WAS A VERY STRONG SMELL OF GAS COMING INTO THE CAR. I PARKED IN THE GARAGE AND WHEN I WOKE UP THE NEXT MORNING THE SMELL WAS UNBEARABLE. I HAVE IT AT THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP RIGHT NOW HAVING IT LOOKED AT. I JUST SAW A FORUM WITH SOMEONE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AND SENT ME TO THIS LINK. IS THIS A RECALL? ALSO THE SMELL IS STRONG AT ALL TIMES DRIVING/PARKED/IDOLING
MY AUTOMATIC SHIFTER JAMMED IN THE D LOCATION AND WOULD ONLY GO TO NEUTRAL AND WOULD NOT GO INTO REVERSE OR PARK, AND THE DOORS WOULD NOT OPEN WITH THE BUTTON, THIS SHIFTER HAS JAMMED IN PARK IN THE PAST. THIS CAR ONLY HAS 26K MILES ON IT. AND IS NOT DRIVEN IN BAD WEATHER. NOT A GOOD FEELING TO BE TRAPED IN YOUR CAR.
I RECENTLY (JAN 6, 2018), NOTICED A VERY DISTINCT GASOLINE SMELL IN MY GARAGE AND AROUND MY 2006 CORVETTE. THERE IS NO SPOTTING BENEATH THE CAR. THE ODOR HAS ITS STRONGEST CONCENTRATION IN THE AREA NEAR THE FILLER DOOR (DRIVER'S SIDE REAR WHEEL WELL AREA). I HAVE OWNED THE CAR FOR EXACTLY THREE YEARS AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME THIS SMELL HAS BEEN PRESENT. IT IS VERY PERVASIVE AND DEFINITELY GASOLINE. THE FUMES ARE A MAJOR SAFETY HAZARD AND THIS CONDITION IS VERY DISCONCERTING. THERE ARE NUMEROUS POSTINGS ON CORVETTE FORUMS AND ON YOU TUBE, THAT HIGHLIGHT THIS ONGOING PROBLEM WITH EARLY C6 CORVETTES (2005-2008). I HAVE CALLED CHEVROLET DEALER SERVICE DEPARTMENTS AND THEY ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THIS HAS BEEN A PROBLEM, BUT THAT NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED. THE PROBLEM IS THAT GASOLINE IS SPRAYING OUT OF THE SEALS AND CERTAIN PLASTIC HOSE CONNECTIONS RELATED TO THE FUEL TANK, AND, OR, AROUND THE FUEL PUMP AND POSSIBLY THE CROSSOVER TUBE. GASOLINE "PUDDLES" ON TOP OF THE GAS TANK OR IS CAUGHT BY THE TANK SHIELD BENEATH THE TANK...THUS NO SPOTTING UNDER THE CAR. THE FUMES AND THE LIQUID ARE A MAJOR FIRE DANGER...BOTH IN A STATIONARY GARAGE SETTING OR WHEN THE CAR IS IN MOTION, WHERE GASOLINE WOULD HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO IGNITE ON A HOT SURFACE SUCH AS THE EXHAUST.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE ACTIVE HANDLING SYSTEM ENGAGED AND THE FRONT END OF THE VEHICLE SHOOK. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO THE CONTACT'S RESIDENCE. THE DEALER WAS NOTIFIED AND STATED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL FOR THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS UNKNOWN. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.
I GOT A SERVICE ACTIVE HANDLING LIGHT THAT CAME ON THE DASH TWO DAYS AGO, AND WENT AFTER RESTARTING THE CAR A FEW TIMES. WHILE I WAS DRIVE YESTERDAY AND DOING ABOUT 70 MPH, THE CAR PULLED VIOLENTLY TO THE LEFT AND I HAD TO MAKE A RAPID CORRECTION TO AVOID HITTING THE TRUCK NEXT TO ME. AS THAT HAPPENED I INSTINCTIVELY GLANCED AT MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AND THE SERVICE ACTIVE HANDLING, SEEMS TO HAVE LIT UP THE INSTANCE THE CAR MADE TO SUDDEN LEFT SWING. I'VE READ ON THE CORVETTE FORUMS, THAT THIS SEEMS TO BE A PROBLEM THAT HAS BEEN PLAGUING THE C6 Z06. THIS ALSO HAPPENED A COUPLE OF YEARS WHILE I WAS APPROACHING A STOP LIGHT AND WAS GOING ABOUT 25 TO 30 MPH. I DON'T USE THE CAR THAT OFTEN, ONLY WHILE I'M ON VACATION, WHICH IS ABOUT 3 TO 4 TIMES PER YEAR. THE LIGHT WILL COME ON FROM TIME TO TIME BUT THE SUDDEN LEFT SWING ONLY HAPPENED TWICE.
THE FRONT LIGHTS OF THE CAR ONE OF THEM ISN'T WORKING. I BELIEVE THIS ISN'T THE FIRST COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS KIND OF CAR. IT IS DANGEROUS TO BE DRIVING ON THE ROAD. I HAVE TO CONTINUE TO PUT MY HIGH BEAMS ON FOR THEM TO WORK. AT TIMES BOTH THE LIGHTS ARE ON AND WITH TIME DRIVING IT WILL TURN ONE OF THEM OFF. IT'S DANGEROUS BECAUSE THE VISIBILITY ON THE ROAD FOR ME AND OTHER DRIVERS.
2006 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. CONSUMER STATES THAT WHILE DRIVING 30 MPH THE ACTIVE HANDLING SYSTEM ENGAGED AND THE FRONT END OF VEHICLE BEGAN TO SHAKE. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. *JS
THE POWER STEERING HIGH PRESSURE LINE LEAKS IN MULTIPLE PLACES THROUGH A SHORT CANVAS REINFORCED RUBBER SEGMENT ON MY 2006 CORVETTE, NOT THROUGH ANY CRIMPED FITTINGS, O-RINGS, ETC. THE HIGHER THE RPM, THE FASTER IT LEAKS. IT SPRAYS ON THE ENGINE AND EXHAUST. THE SOURCE OF THE LEAK WAS DIFFICULT TO FIND SHORTLY AFTER PURCHASE (USED), BEING THE HOSE ITSELF IS HARD TO SEE, THE LEAK WAS SMALLER THEN, AND IT HAD A CORRUGATED PLASTIC TUBING WRAPPED AROUND IT FOR ABRASION PROTECTION, DIVERTING THE LEAKS. NOW IT'S LEAKING BADLY. THE HOSE IS BENT IN A CURVE, AND THE LEAKS ARE ALL ALONG THE OUTER PERIMETER (STRETCHED) SIDE OF THE HOSE. I DISCOVERED THE REPLACEMENT STEEL LINE HAS BEEN REDESIGNED TO A LONGER UNIT WITH TWO STRAIGHT RUBBER SECTIONS THAT MUST BE REROUTED, WHICH TOLD ME THE ORIGINAL HAD A DESIGN FLAW THAT LED TO FAILURES. I CHECKED TO SEE IF THERE WAS A RECALL FOR THIS, AND THERE IS, BUT ODDLY MY VIN SEEMS TO 'NOT BE INCLUDED'. RECALL #05V455000 IS DATED 10/5/2005, AND THE DATE MY CAR WAS BUILT IS 09/05 ACCORDING TO THE DOOR DECAL. THE RECALL STATES: 'CONSEQUENCE: IF THIS WERE TO OCCUR, POWER STEERING ASSIST WOULD BE LOST AND INCREASED STEERING EFFORT WOULD BE REQUIRED. ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH HYDRO-BOOST POWER BRAKES, IT COULD ALSO RESULT IN LOSS OF POWER BRAKE ASSIST AND INCREASED BRAKING EFFORT WOULD BE REQUIRED. IF THE POWER STEERING FLUID SPRAY WERE TO SPRAY ONTO HOT ENGINE PARTS, AN ENGINE COMPARTMENT FIRE COULD OCCUR.' THE DEALERSHIP INSISTS MY VIN IS NOT EFFECTED, BUT YET I CLEARLY HAVE THIS PROBLEM NOW ON A HOSE THAT IS NOTHING LIKE THE NEWLY-DESIGNED ONES. I THINK GM MUST INCLUDE MY VIN AND ALL ADDITIONAL ONES WITH THIS OLD STYLE HOSE INSTALLED, I THINK IT 'SLIPPED THROUGH THE CRACKS'. IT'S SPRAYING FLUID ON HOT EXHAUST BENEATH, AND IT LOSES LOTS OF FLUID QUICKLY WHICH CAN LEAD TO STEERING/BRAKE FAILURE. I CAN'T DRIVE THE CAR IN THE STATE IT'S IN.
VEHICLE WOULD NOT SHIFT IN PARK OR REVERSE AND DRIVE. MALFUNCTION CAR WAS IN TRAFFIC
I NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTICE FROM GM, BUT I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER'S ATTENTION WHILE I WAS IN FOR A RECALL REPAIR IN 2008. I TOLD THE TECH THAT MY TRACTION CONTROL, ACTIVE STABILITY CONTROL, WASN'T WORKING PROPERLY. WHEN I RECEIVED THE CAR BACK THE TECH SAID THE TRACTION CONTROL IS FIXED AND WORKING FINE. I DIDN'T SEE HOW HE COULD HAVE SAID THAT WHEN THE CAR NEVER LEFT THE SHOP. I REALIZE NOW THAT HE WAS AWARE OF SOMETHING THAT I WASN'T. THE TRACTION WASN'T FIXED, BUT I FELT THAT I CAN'T BRING IT BACK DUE TO INCOMPETENCE. I WENT TO FORUMS AND FOUND PLENTY OF COMPLAINTS FROM OTHERS. THEN I NOTICED THAT 2005-2006 CORVETTES WITH THE RPON37 STEERING COLUMN BUILT IN 2005 WERE RECALLED FOR THIS. NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER WAS 10V172000 AND GM'S CAMPAIGN # WAS N100118. I CALLED GM THEY SAID I AM MISTAKEN MY CAR IS NOT AFFECTED WHICH IS [XXX]. I THEN FOUND FROM THE INTERNET THAT PART #19179794, CLIP, WAS USED TO FIX THE ISSUE. I THEN ORDERED ONE OF THESE AND FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS TO REPAIR IT AND FOUND THIS CLIP WAS INSTALLED, BUT IMPROPERLY HENCE THE REASON IT WASN'T FIXED BY THE TECH, BUT HE WAS UNDER THE IMPRESSION IT WAS SOLVED. I THEN REPLACED THE CLIP PROPERLY AND NOW IT'S OK. GM WAS VERY DIFFICULT AND DISMISSIVE DURING THE ENTIRE ORDEAL. LOOKING ON YOUR WEB SITE IT SPECIFICALLY STATES THAT MY VIN # DOES IN FACT FALL INTO THE SPECS OF YOUR RECALL. I AM GOING TO ENCLOSE A PHOTO OF THE BENT, IMPROPERLY, INSTALLED CLIP AND A PROPER PICTURE OF THE CLIP. ALSO THE HARNESS THAT NEEDS THE CLIP TO SHOW THAT THE BENT PRONG IS NEEDED TO REPAIR THE HARNESS. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET CORVETTE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE EMITTED A STRONG FUEL ODOR AND WHILE DRIVEN THE FUEL ODOR PENETRATED THE VEHICLE INTERIOR. IN ADDITION, WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED THE FUEL ODOR WAS STRONG. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHOM PERFORMED A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING, WHICH LOCATED A FUEL LEAK AT THE DRIVER SIDE FUEL TANK. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MECHANIC ADVISED THAT PARTS LOCATED AT THE TOP OF THE FUEL TANK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. HOWEVER, THE CONTACT DID NOT KNOW THE NAME OF THE PARTS THAT WERE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,500.
THE SHIFT LEVEL ON MY AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION LOCKS IN NUETRAL. BEEN READING THAT THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN. IT STARTS WHEN THE CAR IS IN PARK AND THEN WON'T LET THE SHIFTER MOVE
BEGAN TO NOTICE A SENSED VEHICLE SELF STEERING SENSATION ON 7/12/17. THE VEHICLE FEELS LIKE THE REAR WHEELS ARE SLIDING AROUND WITH NO TRACTION OR AS IF THE REAR WHEELS ARE STEERING THEMSELVES. IT IS OCCURRING AT ALL SPEEDS, EVEN WHILE DRIVING UP AN INCLINED DRIVEWAY.
SMELL OF GAS FUMES IN GARARAGE AFTER SITTING OVERNIGHT. NO VISIBLE GAS LEAKS
WHILE DRIVING, THE CHECK CHARGING SYSTEM LIGHT COME ON, VOLTAGE ON THE GAGE WENT TO 11.5 VOLT. I CHANGE THE ALTERNATOR, AFTER INSTALLING THE NEW REBUILD ON THE GAGE WHEN UP TO 14.5. I TOOK IT FOR A TEST DRIVE. THAT ONLY LASTED 20 MINUTES. WITHIN 2 SATURDAY, I HAVE ADDED 6 ALTERNATOR TO THIS CAR, THEY ONLY LAST 20 MINUTE AFTER IN STALLING. HAD THE CAR CHECK OUT. I WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS A BAD ALTERNATOR. I HAVE NEVER CHANGED SO MANY ALTERNATOR IN MY LIFE ON ONE CAR. TAKING IT INTO A SHOP THIS WEEKEND AGAIN AND LET THEM INSTALL THERE $800.00 ALTERNATOR AND SEE WHAT HAPPEN.

THERE IS AN OVERPOWERING SMELL OF GASOLINE COMING FROM THE LEFT REAR OF THE CAR. GASOLINE SMELL FROM THE TRUNK AND CABIN.
STRONG FUEL SMELL WHEN GAS TANK IS MORE THAN HALF FULL
SMELL OF GAS CONSISTENTLY FILLS THE CABIN. I FEAR IT IS A CRACK IN THE GAS TANK LIKE MULTIPLE OTHERS HAVE REPORTED.
I RECENTLY HAD MY VALVES TESTED BY A LOCAL SHOP SINCE IVE HEARD FROM OTHER OWNERS THAT THE LS7 VALVES DROP AT ANY GIVEN TIME. I HAD TWO VALVES OUT OF SPECS AND HAVE TO GET IT FIXED IN ORDER TO SAVE ENGINE FROM FUTURE DAMAGE. MY CAR CURRENTLY HAS 52,241 MILES.
STRONG FUEL SMELL
WAITING IN TRAFFIC DUE TO ACCIDENT AHEAD. SHIFT AUTO TRANS. INTO PARK. THE TRANS. WOULD NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK TO RESUME NORMAL OPERATION. PROBLEM DESCRIBED IN OWNER OPERATIONS MANUAL. FINALLY ABLE TO SHIFT TO DRIVE. NOW WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF DRIVE CREATING POTENTIAL FOR CAR TO ROLL WITHOUT BREAK APPLIED. RESEARCH SHOWS THIS IS HAPPENING IN YEARS 2005 TO 2016.
CAR SMELLS OF FUEL WHILE SITTING WITH THE ENGINE OFF. FROM DOING RESEARCH IT IS A COMMON PROBLEM WHERE THERE IS A CRACK IN THE TOP OF THE FUEL PUMP.
IN 2010, THERE WAS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE FOR "STEERING WHEEL POSITION SENSOR." THE ISSUE WAS THE "SERVICE ACTIVE HANDLING" WARNING NOTICE WAS INTERMITTENTLY APPEARING IN THE DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER. THE REMEDY WAS TO INSTALL A PLASTIC CLIP. THIS REMEDY DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE AND I WAS TOLD I NEEDED A NEW "STEERING WHEEL POSITION SENSOR" AND THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL AND IT WOULD BE AT MY EXPENSE. I DID NOT HAVE THE REPAIR DONE AT THAT TIME BECAUSE I RARELY DRIVE THE CAR, AND THE PROBLEM WAS INTERMITTENT. THE DEALERSHIP ADVISED ME TO HAVE A FRONT END ALIGNMENT AND THAT SEEMED TO FIX THE PROBLEM FOR AWHILE. THE "SERVICE ACTIVE HANDLING" WARNING HAS RETURNED, AND I'M SCHEDULED TO HAVE THE SENSOR REPLACED FOR ABOUT $800. THIS SEEMS TO BE A WIDELY KNOWN PROBLEM IN THE 2005-2006 CORVETTES, AND THE PLASTIC CLIP DID NOT FIX THE ISSUE. I'M EXTREMELY CONCERNED AS THERE HAVE BEEN MANY BAD ACCIDENTS DUE TO THE ACTIVE HANDLING SYSTEM ENGAGING AT RANDOM TIMES AND CAUSING CRASHES. WHY DIDN'T GM ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THE PLASTIC CLIP DID NOT REMEDY THE ISSUE AND WHY AM I HAVING TO PAY FOR A REPAIR THAT IS WIDE SPREAD AND THAT THE RECALL REPAIR IS KNOWN TO NOT HAVE WORKED. *TR

THE CONTACT HAD TO DISCONNECT THE BATTERY IN ORDER TO SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 51,000.
SMELL OF GAS COMING FROM THE CAR, NOTICED "WET" SURFACES UNDER THE CAR AT THE REAR. CAN SMELL GAS WHEN GETTING IN THE CAR, HAVE NOTICED THIS FOR A FEW MONTHS BUT I DON'T DRIVE THE VEHICLE MUCH.

WHILE THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED, THE BRAKES ENGAGED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MICHAELS TOYOTA OF FRESNO, CALIFORNIA (50 WEST BULLARDS AVE, (559) 431-7576 93704), BUT THE SOURCE OF THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DETERMINED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 10V172000 (STEERING) WAS A POSSIBLE EXPLANATION FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 110,000.
AFTER INITIAL START, AND WHILE HOLDING BRAKE PEDAL DOWN, THE AUTOMATIC SHIFT LEVER STAYS LOCKED IN "PARK," AND CANNOT BE SHIFTED TO OTHER GEARS. THE SOLENOID SEEMS NOT TO BE ENGAGING. THIS IS AN ANNOYING OCCURRENCE, WHICH HAPPENS TOO OFTEN. I CAN SEE SAFETY ISSUES ARISING FROM THIS PROBLEM. PROBLEM BEGAN @ 2,500 MILES. VEHICLE NOW HAS ONLY 3,100 MILES, AND STILL OCCURRING. VEHICLE IS ALWAYS STATIONARY, AND MOSTLY OCCURS DURING INITIAL START, WHEN OPERATION OF VEHICLE BEGINS. ALSO OCCURS AFTER A FEW HOURS OF VEHICLE OPERATION, WHEN PARKED, IGNITION TURNED OFF, THEN RESTARTED MINUTES OR HOURS LATER. VEHICLE IS ALWAYS GARAGED, AND THIS PROBLEM IS NOT WEATHER RELATED.
WITH FUEL AT 3/4 OR FULL, AFTER GOING OVER POT HOLES OR SPEED BUMPS ETC. I GET A RAW GAS SMELL THAT ENGUFS THE WHOLE INSIDE OF THE CAR,AND LASTS 5 TO TEN MINS. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT THE LAST 6 MONTHS. JUST CAME OFF 6500 MILE ROAD TRIP. HAPPENED ABOUT EEVERY OTHER DAY.
