THE CAR HAS HAD ISSUES SINCE I BOUGHT IT. EVERYTHING FROM THE TRANSMISSION TO THE SEATBELTS TO THE ENGINE TO THE BRAKES THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG. MY VIN NUMBER DOESNT MATCH THE RECALLS BUT TEVERYTHING THAT IS WRONG IS RECALLED ON THE 2012 AND 2013 BUT I MISSED THE RECALL BY A WEEK? SOUNDS LIKE TO ME GM KNEW THE MOST ISSUES WERE ON THE CAR MANAUFACTURED WHEN MINE WAS AND DIDNT WANT TO FIX THE PROBLEM
I BOUGHT MY CAR IN 2015, IT IS A 2012 CHEVY CRUZE ECO. I'VE HAD TO REPLACE THE CAMSHAFT COVER(PCV) 2 TIMES IN A YEAR DUE TO THE GASKET BEING CRAP AND CAUSING HORRIBLE OIL LEAKS! HERE I AM AGAIN, CHANGED IT AND IT IS AGAIN FAULTY AND LEAKING OIL. THIS NEEDS TO BE WARRANTY AND COVERED BY GM. I'VE ALREADY HAD TO DO THE WATER PUMP MYSELF BECAUSE THEY WOULDN'T FIX THE WATER PUMP AT ANY DEALER. THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH THE OIL LEAK, AND NEEDS TO HAVE A RECALL TOO FIX ANYTHING, CAUSING THIS PROBLEM.
MY PASSENGER SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER STOPPED WORKING.I WAS TRYING TO MAKE IT A FEW DAYS UNTIL I COULD AFFORD TO FIX MY PASSENGER WIPER AND MY DRIVER SIDE STOPPED WORKING ON MY WAY TO WORK ON THE HIGHWAY WHILE I WAS IN MOTION. WHEN THIS HAPPENED I HAD TO HANG MY HEAD OUT THE WINDOW TO SEE WHERE I WAS DRIVING UNTIL I COULD GET TO A SAFE LOCATION TO PULL OVER.
THE VALVE COVER IS [XXX]! I'VE REPLACED THREE IN A YEAR AN A HALF! THIS IS CAUSING MASSIVE OIL LEAKS AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED! THE WHOLE [XXX] THINGB I'M GETTING REALLY PISSED ABOUT THIS PARTS OF THIS DOCUMENT HAVE BEEN REDACTED TO PROTECT PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION PURSUANT TO THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).
CAR WAS LIKE NEW FOR A FEW MONTHS, DRIVEN TO AND FROM ORLANDO MAYBE 4 TIMES, BUT MOSTLY USE IT FOR WORK TO TAKE MY DAUGHTER TO SCHOOL THEN IT STARTED THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT BEING ON, THEN SHORTLY, CAR STARTED JERKING WHILE PARKED, OR ON BRAKE, AND THE "CHECK STABILI TRACK CONTROL" LIGHT COMES ON, AND THEN WOULD JUST TURN OFF. I WOULD START SMELLING A VERY STRONG BURNT SMELL BUT NO OIL WAS FALLING TO THE FLOOR, BUT ONCE I STOPPED DRIVING THERE WOULD'VE SMOKE EVERYWHERE. WAS TOLD THERE IS A VACUUM LEAK COMING FROM PCV WHICH IS BUILT IN VALVE COVER...HAVE HAD VALVE COVER CHANGED 3 TIMES IN 3 WEEKS AND EACH TIME, IT LOOKED LIKE SOMEONE DIED UNDER MY HOOD AND BLED OIL! AM TOLD THAT THERE IS TOO MUCH PRESSURE COMING IN AND SO CAUSES OIL TO FIND A WAY OUT AND LEAKS IT SPILLS IT SLASHES, AND IT'S A MYSTERY! ALSO, THERE IS ANOTHER LEAK THAT ALL OF A SUDDEN STRATED FROM THE SIDE OF THE ENGINE! WHEN DOING MY RESEARCH, THERE ARE SOOOOOO MANY PEOPLE WITH THE SAME PROBLEMS! THIS NEEDS TO BE SOME SORT OF RECALL. PLEASE HELP!
WHEN THE TEMPERATURE DROPS BELOW 20 DEGREES F MY ABS AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS COME ON CONSTANTLY AND IT SAYS SERVICE ABS SYSTEM AND SERVICE STABILITRAK SYSTEM. WHENEVER THIS OCCURS MY LEFT REAR E-BRAKE LOCKS UP AS THOUGH IT IS FROZEN. THIS HAS CAUSED ME TO SLIDE OFF THE ROAD MULTIPLE TIMES.
AC AUTO SHUTOFF TEMP TO HIGH MESSAGE COMES ON L. I HAVE REPLACED THE THERMOSTAT ALREADY THREE TIMES. THEN THE CAR WON'T START. DISCONNECT THE GROUND AND PUT IT BACK ON AND IT STARTS JUST FINE. YOU CAN DRIVE IT FOR A WHILE THEN AC OFF COMES BACK IN AND START THE PROCESS AGAIN.
2012 CHEVROLET CRUZE LS WITH 51,000 MILES. EVENT OCCURRED NOV. 25, 2018. WITHOUT PRIOR SYMPTOMS, THE CAR BEGAN TO JERK WHILE DRIVING FORWARD AT CITY SPEEDS. MADE IT TO DESTINATION A SHORT DISTANCE AWAY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. ATTEMPTED TO MOVE CAR, AND THE REVERSE GEAR WOULD NOT ENGAGE. DROVE (LIMPED) THE CAR IN D TO A LOCAL AUTOZONE TO HAVE THE TROUBLE CODE READ. P0700 TCM ISSUE. STILL NO REVERSE. UPON LEAVING, NOSED OUT ON BUSY 5 LANE THOROUGHFARE AND THE CAR NO LONGER WOULD GO FORWARD AS THE TRANSMISSION HAD DISENGAGED. COULD HAVE BEEN DISASTROUS IF THIS OCCURRED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BUSY ROAD. PUSHED THE CAR BACK TO THE AUTOZONE LOT. NOV 26, 2018 CALLED GM AND OPENED A CASE BUT WAS TOLD THERE ARE NO RECALLS AND WE ARE OUT OF WARRANTY, MUST HAVE A CERTIFIED GM SHOP ASSESS THE ISSUE AT OUR COST. NOV 27, 2018 TOWED TO LOCAL GM DEALER WHERE CAR WAS PURCHASED FOR EVALUATION. COMPLAINT:THIS CAR IS OUT OF WARRANTY ON TIME ONLY. IT HAS A SEALED TRANNY AND THE FIRST RECOMMENDED FLUID CHANGE IS 97,500 MILES. OBVIOUSLY DRIVEN CAREFULLY AND DAILY WITHOUT NEGLECT FOR ONLY 51,000 MILES. SHOULD NOT HAVE MAJOR UN-WARRANTIED TRANSMISSION ISSUES. RESEARCHED THIS CONDITION ON FORUMS ETC. THERE ARE ENOUGH INSTANCES WITH VERY SIMILAR OR SAME SYMPTOMS THAT GM KNOWS OF THIS AND SHOULD MAKE IT GOOD.
AFTER SEVERAL TRIPS TO DEALER FOR COOLANT ISSUES, CAR WAS FINE FOR AWHILE. NOTICED LOW COOLANT YET AGAIN, FILLED IT AND 2 WEEKS LATER DURING OIL CHANGE WAS INFORMED THAT I HAD NO COOLANT. 3 DAYS LATER TRANSMISSION FAILED WHILE DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY DURING RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC, I WAS ABLE FORTUNATELY, TO PULL IT OVER TO THE SHOULDER AND HAD IT TOWED. VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION! 120.000 MILES AND NO PRIOR INDICATION OF ANY ISSUES. JUST CONTACTED CHEVROLET TO SEE IF ANY ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE. THIS CAR HAS BEEN GREAT EXCEPT FOR THE COOLANT ISSUES....UNTIL THIS! THE CAR IS NO LONGER DRIVEABLE!
I HAVE HAD MY CAR SINCE 2012 AND HAVE NOT HAD ANY ISSUES, UNTIL NOW. MY CAR WAS RUNNING FINE WHEN OUT OF THE BLUE, WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK ON A CITY STREET, MY CAR WOULD NOT GO OVER 30 MPH. I WAS ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME AND WHEN I WENT TO TAKE IT TO A DEALER TO HAVE IT LOOKED AT, I COULD NOT BACK THE CAR OUT THE GARAGE. THE CAR WOULD GO FORWARD, BUT NOT BACK. I HAD TO HAVE THE CAR TOWED TO THE DEALER WHERE HE WAS ABLE TO DIAGNOSE THE CAR WITH A BROKEN SHIFTER PLATE THAT DAMAGED OTHER PARTS OF THE TRANSMISSION. I REGULARLY MAINTENANCE MY CAR AND ONLY HAVE 60,409 MILES ON IT (MOSTLY HIGHWAY MILES). A CAR THIS YOUNG AND WITH THAT FEW MILES SHOULD NOT HAVE TRANSMISSION ISSUES. I LOOKED UP THE ISSUE AND IT SEEMS TO BE COMMON WITH THIS CAR (SEE THE BELOW LINKS). SINCE THIS IS NOT A NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR ISSUE, IT SEEMS TO BE A MANUFACTURING PROBLEM, I AM REQUESTING THAT A SERVICE BULLETIN OR RECALL BE ISSUED SO NO OTHER PERSON DEALS WITH THIS ISSUE. I ALSO ASK THAT YOU REVIEW THE ATTACHED REPAIR DOCUMENTS SO THAT I MAY GET SOME SORT OF COMPENSATION FOR THE REPAIRS. BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT IN A NON-REGULATED PRIVATELY OWNED PARKING AREA VISION IS IMPAIRED AND ANYONE MOVING IN ANY DIRECTION TOWARD YOU CANNOT BE SEEN OR NOTICED UNTIL IMPACT.
TRANSMISSION MODULE CONTROL BAD. CAR JERKS WHEN PUT IN GEAR AND TAKES OFF VERY SLOW OR NOT AT ALL. VERY DANGEROUS.
WHILE IN MOTION DRIVING DOWN A MAJOR CITY STREET... WITHOUT ANY DASH LIGHTS/WARNING LIGHTS THE VEHICLE WOULD NO LONGER ACCELERATE AND STOPPED MOVING. THE VEHICLE WAS DEAD WITHOUT PRIER WARNING. I DID NOT HAVE ENOUGH TIME TO PULL OVER ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD CREATING A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR ME. AFTER GETTING THE VEHICLE TOWED, I WAS TOLD THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD FAILED.
LET ME START BY SAYING THIS ISSUE WAS THE NOT THE FIRST ISSUE THAT'S CAUSE ME TO TOW MY CAR FIRST WAS MY ENGINE FAILURE DUE TO COOLANT LINES RIPPING WHILE DRIVING. AND THIS ISSUES IS ABOUT DEFROST AND HEATING IN THE GENERAL I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH ME HEAT ON THE WINDSHIELD BUT IT DIDN'T HEAT THE FRONT WINDSHIELD INSTEAD IS WAS HEATING MY FACE THE WINDOWS WERE ALREADY A LITTLE FOGGY BUT I EXPECTED IT TO BE CLEAR WHILE DRIVING BUT INSTEAD WHILE GOING 65MPH ON THE HIGHWAY MY WINDOWS COMPLETELY BECOME FOGGED COMPLETELY WHITE I COULDN'T SEE ANYTHING LUCKY FOR ME I WAS ON THE RIGHT LANE SO I PULLED OVER AND WAS SAFE HOWEVER IF IT HAPPENED EVEN 5 SECONDS LATER I WOULD OF MOST LIKELY HIT OR BEEN HIT AS THE HIGHS HAD SOME RENAVATIONS AND THE NEW TURN HAD NO PULL OVER AND HAD A LONG AND TIGHT TURN. ANYWAYS IF YOUR ALSO HAVING THIS ISSUES AND KNOW A FIX PLEASE INFORM ME.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD STILL WITHIN CITY LIST, THE CAR BEGAN MAKING A KNOCKING NOISE, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND A LOW OIL PRESSURE WARNING FLASHED. AFTER TAKING IT TO A LOCAL MECHANIC WE WERE TOLD THAT THE ENGINE IS BLOWN WITH 122K MILES ON IT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET CRUZE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING IN A RAIN STORM, THE DRIVER'S SIDE WINDSHIELD WIPER STOPPED WORKING. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 108,000.
MY VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY AND NO RUNNING. I ENTERED THE VEHICLE AND STARTED IT. THE SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL LIGHT FLASHED THEN THE SERVICE STABILITRAK LIGHT FLASHED THE LIGHTS WENT AWAY AND THE VEHICLE DROVE FINE. SEVERAL DAYS LATER THE SAME THING HAPPENED UPON ENTERING MY DRIVEWAY IT STARTED TO SPUTTER. FOUR DAYS AFTER THAT UPON STARTING THE VEHICLE THE SAME LIGHTS CAME ON IN ADDITION TO THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. NOW WHEN I START MY VEHICLE THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STAYS ON AND AFTER THE VEHICLE IS WARMED UP THE OTHER TWO LIGHTS COME ON AND THEN GO OFF. MY LATEST ONSTAR DIAGNOSTIC REPORTS A PROBLEM WITH THE ECM. I HAS BEEN ALMOST EXACTLY THREE YEARS TO THE DATE THAT THESE SAME THINGS HAPPENED AND WERE SUPPOSEDLY REPAIRED UNDER RECALL # 14801 AND SPECIAL COVERAGE # 14311B. PLEASE ADVISE.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE CONTACT HEARD A HIGH PITCHED NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS PULLED OVER AND TURNED OFF. WHEN THE VEHICLE WAS RESTARTED, THE CHECK ENGINE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO NALLEY CHEVROLET (4200 JONESBORO RD, UNION CITY, GA 30291, (678) 369-6497) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PCV VALVE WAS MISSING AND THE ENGINE WAS INTAKING TOO MUCH AIR. THE DEALER STATED THAT THEY HAD TO REPLACE A SHAFT MEMBRANE. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WERE NO CURRENT RECALLS ON THE VEHICLE. THE REPAIRS WERE COMPLETED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000.
TAKATA RECALL ON OR ABOUT JULY 2016 I NOTICED WHEN I PUT MY CAR IN REVERSE I TRIED TO BRAKE AND MY CAR WOULD STAY IN MOVEMENT AND REQUIRE ME TO SLAM DOWN ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. EVER SINCE THE FIRST TIME I NOTICED IT, IT HAS GOTTEN WORSE. THE BRAKE PEDAL GETS HARD AND MY CAR KEEPS ROLLING WHEN I'M IN REVERSE AND DRIVING FORWARD. IT HAPPENS FREQUENTLY BUT SOMETIMES WILL GO AWAY. I THOUGHT IT COULD BE A RESULT OF MY ENGINE NOT REACHING THE RIGHT TEMPERATURE BUT IT HAS HAPPENED MIDWAY THROUGH MY COMMUTES. I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS FOR MY CAR BUT I FEEL THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY PROBLEM, I TRIED TO PARALLEL PARK THE OTHER DAY AND COULDN'T DO IT BECAUSE MY CAR KEPT ROLLING AROUND. THIS HAS HAPPENED ON CITY STREETS, I HAVE NOT NOTICED IT WHEN IM ON THE HIGHWAY.
WHILE DRIVING IN THE CITY AT NIGHT, THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY SHUT OFF, INCLUDING THE ENGINE AND ALL ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS WITHOUT ANY WARNINGS. THIS CAUSED ALL LIGHTS TO TURN OFF, LOSS OF POWER STEERING, POWER TO BRAKES, AND LITTLE TO CONTROL TO THE VEHICLE. LUCKILY, THE VEHICLE BEHIND ME NOTICED AND TAILED ME TO A STOP WITH THEIR WARNING LIGHTS. I THEN PROCEEDED TO OPEN THE ENGINE WITH A FLASHLIGHT TO DISCOVER THAT THE BATTERY WAS STILL PROPERLY CONNECTED (6 MONTHS OLD) WITH NO FRAYS OR CORROSION TO THE CONNECTORS OR WIRING. AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES ATTEMPTING TO FIND A TOW TRUCK COMPANY THE VEHICLE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM CAME BACK ON WITH NO INTERVENTION. I TURNED THE IGNITION SWITCH AND THE VEHICLE STARTED WITH NO ISSUES AND NO ENGINE LIGHTS ON. I DROVE IT THE REST OF THE WAY HOME WITH NO ISSUES. WHEN I GOT HOME I CHECKED ALL THE FUSES AND ALL WERE OPERABLE. THE OBD SCANNER FOUND NO CODES. I AM MID 30S 190IBS AND FAIRLY STRONG, I COULD ONLY IMAGINE IF THIS HAPPENED IN AN INTERSECTION OR DURING BUSY HOURS ON THE HIGHWAY, I WOULDN'T BE SITTING HERE REPORTING THIS ISSUE. I FOUND NUMEROUS SIMILAR COMPLAINTS ON BLOGS CONCERNING THIS MODEL. I ASSUME NOT MANY HAVE REPORTED PROPERLY SINCE THERE IS NO RECALL ISSUED FOR THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM.
ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM EXPLODED WHILE CAR IN MOTION COOLANT WAS EVERYWHERE UNDERNEATH THE HOOD. BELT BROKEN.AND HAS OIL LEAKING.WITH AN 800 HUNDRED DOLLARS BILL WHILE ON VACATION.
MY TRANSMISSION WAS SHIFTING HARD THEN I PARKED IT GOT BACK IN PUT IN REVERSE AND IT WON'T MOVE,IT MOVED IN DRIVE SO MANY FEET MAKING HORRIBLE NOISE AND THEN WENT OUT OF GEAR...NOW WON'T MOVE AT ALL
THE VALVE COVER AND PCV VALVE LEAKS AIR BAD AND IS DEFECTIVE. IT CONSTANTLY CAUSES SURGING AND MULTIPLE OBD CODES AND THE STABILI/TRAC TO FLASH AND THE RADIO TO FLASH OFF AND ON. IT IDLES ROUGH AND SHUTS OFF ROUGH TOO. THE GAS MILEAGE ISN'T AS GOOD AS IT SHOULD AND THE POWER ISN'T AS GOOD AS IT SHOULD. THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL ON THIS KNOWN DEFECTIVE PCV VALVE COVER TO BE FIXED
MY SON WAS DRIVING BY HIMSELF WHEN HE HIT A POLE. AFTER THE ACCIDENT HE SAID HE COULD NOT MOVE THE STEERING WHEEL TO AVOID THE POLE. HE SAID IT STUCK.

AUTO SALES (391 S STATE RD, CHESHIRE, MA 01225, (413) 743-0014) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SERVICED PER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V360000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE DIAGNOSIS WAS UNKNOWN. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 118,000.
OVERHEATS REGULARLY EVEN WITH ANTIFREEZE, STOPS READING COOLANT TEMPERATURE RANDOMLY
WHILE PARALLEL PARKING ON A CITY STREET, BRAKES BECAME UNRESPONSIVE AND I ALMOST HIT ANOTHER CAR. I HAVE HAD TO HAVE THE BRAKE BOOSTER PUMP REPLACED TWICE IN TWO YEARS AND NOW IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED AGAIN BUT DEALER WON'T ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THERE IS A KNOWN ISSUE AND BECAUSE IT IS NOT INVOLVED IN A RECALL, WHY I DO NOT KNOW, I MUST PAY OUT OF POCKET. 3 BOOSTER PUMPS IN 2 YEARS BUT NO RECALL???
WHEN THE CAR IS IN REVERSE, THE BRAKES BARELY WORK. YOU MUST FULLY DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL, AND EVEN THEN, IT WILL NOT STOP IMMEDIATELY. THIS PROBLEM OCCURS WHEN THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND IN REVERSE. IN DRIVE, THE BRAKES WORK AS THEY SHOULD. THAT RECALL NUMBER IS 13V360000. THIS COULD CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
INFOTAINMENT SYSTEM NOT WORKING. THE STEREO SYSTEM DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY. IT WILL TURN ON OR OFF ON WITHOUT INPUT FROM A HUMAN. NOT HAVING A STEREO IS NOT A PROBLEM, BUT THE TURN SIGNALS AND HAZARD LIGHT CLICKING ARE NOT PRESENT WHEN THE RADIO IS NOT OPERATING. NOT HAVING AUDIO OF THE TURN SIGNALS REQUIRES THE DRIVER TO TAKE THEIR EYES OFF THE ROAD TO OBSERVE WHETHER EITHER TURN SIGNAL ARE OPERATING. THIS DRIVER HAS RIDDEN AROUND WITH A TURN SIGNAL FOR SOME LENGTHS OF TIME, POSSIBLY CONFUSING OTHER DRIVERS. THE RADIO AND VEHICLE DINGS AND CLICKS SHOULD BE INDEPENDENT FOR SAFETY ALERTS.

WITHOUT ANY PREVIOUS PROBLEMS BEFORE THIS DAY.. MY TRANSMISSION WENT OUT WITH ONLY 80,000 MILES ON JUNE 7, 2018. BEING ON A BUSY 2 LANE, CURVY HIGHWAY, MY CAR JUST COMPLETELY WENT OUT OF GEAR AND THANKFULLY I WAS ABLE CRUISE OFF TO THE SIDE. A FEW MINUTES LATER AN ALERT THAN CAME UP ON MY DASH AND SAID "TRANSMISSION HOT, IDLE ENGINE". I HAD BOUGHT THIS CAR IN 2014 WITH ONLY ONE PREVIOUS OWNER THAT TOOK REALLY GOOD CARE OF IT. IT IS RIDICULOUS FOR MY TRANSMISSION TO GO OUT WITH SUCH LOW MILEAGE AND TO HAVE TO PAY $5,000 FOR A NEW ONE AND PLUS THE CAR PAYMENTS I STILL HAVE ON IT. THE 'SERVICE AIRBAGS' MESSAGE SUDDENLY BEGAN APPEARING, DISAPPEARING, AND REAPPEARING. THE ISSUE APPEARS TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH THE CAR'S MOVEMENTS AND WHETHER THE CAR WAS PARKED OUTSIDE DURING A HOT DAY ' WHICH IS THE CASE FOR MOST WEEKDAYS. THE ISSUE SEEMS ODD CONSIDERING THE 2013-2014 CHEVROLET CRUZE MODELS HAVE A RECALL FOR A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG PART, BUT NOT THE 2012 MODEL. YET, WE SEEM TO BE HAVING THE VERY SAME ISSUE. IN ADDITION, I AM THE VEHICLE OWNER'S SON, AS THE OWNER HAS DIFFICULTY GOING THROUGH THESE STEPS ONLINE. AS SUCH, I AM CURRENTLY UNABLE TO UPLOAD A PICTURE.
I GOT GAS ON JUNE 1ST AND NOT EVEN 15 MILES AFTERWORDS MY CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. I CHECKED TO MAKE SURE THE GAS CAP WAS ON PROPERLY AND LIGHT STILL DID NOT GO OFF. I TOOK CAR TO GET OBDII READ AND IT STATED THAT THE MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR WAS BAD AND ALSO THE FUEL INJECTORS AS WELL. ONE MECHANIC STATED IT WAS FROM BAD GAS BUT WAS UNABLE TO PROVE IT. I HAVE DONE PERSONAL RESEARCH AND FOUND THAT THE PCV IS CLOGGED AND NEEDS TO BE REPLACED OR CLEANED. THE CAR PROCEEDS TO RUN "ROUGH" AND STALLS WHEN PLACED IN PARK. I HOWEVER DON'T NOTICE A PROBLEM WHEN IN MANUAL GEAR.
MY CAR JERKED A FEW TIMES BEFORE IT STOPPED IN MOVING TRAFFIC GOING 30 MILES AND WITHOUT WARNING EXCEPT CLICKING NOISES. I HAD MY THREE GRANDKIDS WITH ME. I COASTED TO GET OUT OF TRAFFIC. WAS TOLD MY TRANSMISSION WENT. II AM THE ONLY OWNER, 68,000 MILES ON MY CAR. I AM HIGHLY UPSET. PLEASE ADVISE.
IT HAS BEEN A KNOWN ISSUE ALL OVER THE INTERNET THAT THE 2012 CRUISE HAS HAD A PROBLEM WITH ITS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. ALONG WITH MYSELF MANY OTHERS HAVE NOTED THAT WHILE DRIVING THE CARS ELECTRICAL SYSTEM GOES OUT DISABLING THE POWER STEERING, RADIO, GAS, ANYTHING TIED IN WITH THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM. THIS HAS CAUSED MANY ACCIDENTS AND HAS NEARLY CAUSED MY SIGNIFICANT OTHER AND MYSELF ON 3 SEPARATE OCCASIONS TO NEARLY RUN INTO A POLE OR DITCH. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD NOT ONLY TO THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE BUT TO OTHER VEHICLES OR PEDESTRIANS.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED AND DID NOT ASSIST. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,300.

THE FAILURE RECURRED AND THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE SAME DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A BRAKE MICRO VACUUM SWITCH FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN A RECALL FOR THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 34,000.

THIS VEHICLE (CHEVY CRUZE 2012) IS THE WORST VEHICLE MADE POSSIBLE. THERE IS OIL LEAKS THAT HAVE BEEN FIXED THAT OCCUR AGAIN . THERE IS A COOLANT LEAK THAT WAS FIXED BY THE RADIATOR CONNECTOR. 15 MINUTES LATER OF DRIVING THE VEHICLE 2 MORE HOSES POPPED AND CAUSED THE COOLANT TO LEAK AGAIN. THE RADIATOR WENT BAD AND WAS CHANGED THE VEHICLE STILL OVER HEATED . THE THERMOSTAT WAS CHANGED AND THE VEHICLE WAS FINE FOR 2 DAYS. I GO TO START THE VEHICLE AND IT DOESN'T WANT TO TURN OVER . COME TO FIND OUT AT THE SAME MECHANIC THAT I HAD THE THERMOSTAT CHANGED APPARENTLY SAID THE HEAD GASKET WAS BLOWN . THEN SAYS THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE CYLINDER HEADS . SO ALL IN ALL . THIS VEHICLE HAS HAD OIL LEAKS , COOLANT LEAKS , ENGINE LIGHTS , RADIATOR ISSUES , CYLINDERR HEAD PROBLEMS , MISFIRING AND NOW A HEAD GASKET PROBLEM . THIS BRINGS A SAFETY ISSUE TO ME THAT WHILE I AM DRIVING MY CAR IS MISFIRING ON ME IN THE MIDDLE OF THE ROAD WHILE THERE IS TRAFFIC GOING ON AND TONS OF PEOPLE ON THE ROAD . I COULD POTENTIALLY BE DRIVING THIS VEHICLE AND BECAUSE OF ALL OF THIS ELECTRICAL ISSUES THAT GM IS NOT CAPABLE OF MANUFACTURING CORRECTLY ON THESE VEHICLES (CHEVY CRUZE) MY CAR COULD OF BLEW UP WHILE DRIVING IT. CAR DOES NOT RUN RIGHT. WHEN ACCELERATING THE CAR DOES NOT BUDGE AND STALLS OUT. FOUND OUT IF THE AC IS OFF IT IS LESS LIKELY TO STALL OUT AFTER STOPPING. WAS TOLD IT IS A POSSIBLE CLOGGED CATALYTIC CONVERTER. THE STABILITRAK AND TRACTION CONTROL WANINGS POP UP. TOOK IT TO AUTO ZONE AND THEY TOLD ME IT WAS BAD GAS. SOMETHING IS OFF AND IT'S NOT A EASY DIAGNOSIS.
EVEN AFTER FREE REPAIR DUE TO BEING COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, THE NEW PCV VALVE AND COVER ARE LEAKING AGAIN. ENGINE IDLES ROUGHLY, BOTH IN PARK AND IN DRIVE. THIS IS A KNOWN ISSUE WITH CHEVROLET CRUZE, BUT MY VIN IS NOT PART OF THE RECALL. 2012 CRUZE LT. THE THIRD TURBO WAS INSTALLED 2 DAYS BEFORE EXTENDED WARRANTY EXPIRED. IT HAS 56668 MILES NOW. I SPENT 4 HOURS PUTTING GLUE PUTTY IN THE CRACKS ON THE BOTTOM INTAKE MANIFOLD, TO PLENUM JUNCTION CORNERS OF CYLINDERS 2 AND 4 BECAUSE OF THE GM PLASTIC [XXX], CURING THE LOW BOOST AND LEAN MIXTURE CODES AT IDLE, ON EASTER. THE FIRST MONTH I HAD THE CAR THE TRANSMISSION WOULD START IN FIRST SKIP SECOND GEAR REV UP THEN CHIRP THE TIRES UNTIL IT WARMED UP, AND WAS FIXED BY A PROGRAM CHANGE TO A LESSER VERSION AND NOW AT THE HIGHER MILEAGE IT WAITS BEFORE IT ENGAGES FIRST AT ALL. ANOTHER NEAT THING IS TO TURN LEFT AT 5MPH HARD AND FEEL THE CAR DO A JIG TO THE RIGHT FOR AN INSTANT BEFORE CONTINUING ON WITH THE TURN. LASTLY, THE WATER PUMP WAS REPLACED ALONG WITH A CRACKED WATER OUTLET BUT NOT THE ROTTED RECIRCULATION OVERFLOW HOSE THAT BROKE AT 4 AM TO MY FISHING HOLE IN SEPTEMBER. I CAN SAY THAT THE 2017 CRUZE MUST BE BETTER BECAUSE THE DUMDUMS PAID BY THE GM INSURANCE COMPANY TO CHANGE OIL PUT MORE NEW OIL IN THE MOTOR WITHOUT DRAINING IT FIRST. NO SERIOUS ISSUES FOR A WHOLE WEEK I MIGHT BE ABLE TO DRIVE IT BY MAY IT'S BEEN 5 MONTHS SINCE THEN. FYI THE DEALERSHIP WHO PERFORMED THIS FANCY WORK IS NOT IN RIVERTON EITHER.

THE DEALER HAD TO DIAGNOSE THE CAR WHICH WAS $125.00 I GOT A CALL LATE AFTERNOON THE NEXT DAY AND WAS TOLD THE 3T AND 5T WAVE / CLUTCH PLATES BROKE IN MY CAR AND THEY WOULD NEED TO REPLACE THEM AS WELL AS THE CLUTCH, PISTON, SEALS, ECT AND THE COST WOULD BE $3100.00 PLEASE ALSO KEEP IN MIND I OWE $900 ON THE CAR, THE SERVICE DEPT SAID WE HOPE GM WILL PAY FOR MAJORITY OR MOST OF THE COST BC THIS SHOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD ONLY COVER 30% SO OUT OF POCKET ABOUT $2200 I SAID THAT IF ITS SOMETHING THAT SHOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED WHY WOULD I HAVE TO PAY SO MUCH I KNOW I'M 5 MONTHS OUT WARRANTY BUT IM STILL UNDER 100K MILES I CALLED GM AND ASKED ABOUT GOOD FAITH WARRANTY AND STATED MY SITUATION. TWO DAYS LATER THEY AND I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WILL NOT HELP ANYMORE WITH THE COST, BC OF THE YR WARRANTY, IVE ONLY BOUGHT ONE CAR FROM THE DEALER, AND I DID NOT TAKE MY CAR TO THE DEALER FOR ROUTINE MAT.... I TOLD THE REP THAT MY DAD WHO IS A MECHANIC DID MY OIL OR MY WORK BC I WORK AT A REPAIR SHOP AND IF YOU WERE ME YOU WOULD DO THE SAME AND THIS REP TOLD ME " I DON'T GO TO THE DEALER I GO TO WALMART!" I ALSO ASKED ABOUT GOODFAITHWARRANTY AND SHE STATED "WE DONT DO THAT ON OUR VEHICLES" NEEDLESS TO SAY I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED ALL AROUND TRANS DONT GO OUT ON CARS WITH 69K MILES REPAIRS WERE $2610.00 AND AN ADDITIONAL $331.00 FOR DIAG AND TOWING.
ENGINE COOLANT STENCH AND LOSS OF COOLANT SINCE DAY ONE! I NOW HAVE JUST OVER 45,600 MILES AND PER THE DEALER A NEED A TEMP SENSOR HOUSING AND THERMOSTAT. WHILE DRIVING I GOT A MESSAGE ON THE DASH READING "AC OFF DUE TO HIGH ENGINE TEMP" AND THE COOLANT TEMP READ - - - AND THE NEEDLE ON THE TEMP GAUGE DROPPED TO LOW FROM A PRIOR MIDWAY POINT AND COOLANT TEMP OF 218 DEGREES. BACK IN 2014 I SUDDENLY HAD BLACK SMOKE COMING FROM TAILPIPE AND THE "DEALER REPLACED THE WATER PUMP ASSEMBLY WITH NEW BASE AND THERMOSTAT." I ALSO HAD A "SERVICE STABILITRAC" NOTICE AND SUDDEN LOSS OF POWER WHILE DRIVING BACK IN 2015 AND THE DEALER SAID THEY COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE ISSUE BUT THAT I NEEDED A NEW COIL PACK WHICH I HAD TO PAY FOR AND REPAIR ON MY OWN EVEN THOUGH CAR WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY!! THIS VEHICLE HAS SMELLED LIKE ANTIFREEZE SINCE THE DAY I BOUGHT IT, BRAND NEW, FROM THE DEALER THAT WAS PERFORMING ALL THE SERVICES. IN ADDITION, THE BACK WINDOW LEAKED FROM DAY ONE AND I HAD 2" OF STANDING WATER IN MY TRUNK AND I HAD TO PAY, OUT OF MY OWN POCKET!!, TO REPLACE THE REAR WINDOW = TWICE!!! THIS CAR IS A PIECE OF JUNK AND HAS BEEN NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS AND THE DEALER HAS FORCED ME TO DO REPAIRS THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN COVERED BY THE WARRANTY. I AM SICK AND TIRED OF THE STENCH OF ANTIFREEZE AND THE FACT THAT I NOW HAVE TO REPAIR THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING AND THERMOSTAT DUE TO ENGINE OVERHEATING!!!
BURNING OIL SMELL STARTED AFTER AN OIL CHANGE. I HAVE REPLACED THE INTAKE TUBING THAT LEADS IN THE TURBO BECAUSE WHEN I REPLACED THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR IN THE TURBO AREA, THERE WAS OIL IN THE TURBO INTAKE. IT HAS LOST SOME POWER SINCE I STARTED EXPERIENCING THE BURNING SMELL. IT NOW SMELLS LIKE PLASTIC BURNING SINCE REPLACING THE INTAKE TUBING/GASKET.
