THE BRAKE PEDAL IN MY CRUZE WILL NOT LET YOU PUSH IT DOWN. IT FEELS THAT THERE IS SOMETHING BLOCKING IT WHICH WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO BRAKE WHEN NEEDED. THE FIRST TIME THIS HAPPENED WAS IN 2015 IN WHICH WE LEARNED OF A RECALL (13V360000) FOR THE MICROSWITCH IN THE POWER BRAKE VACUUM PIPE ASSEMBLY. WE TOOK IT TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP & WAS TOLD THE SWITCH WAS REPLACED. IN 2016 THE SAME THING HAPPENED, WHILE ACCELERATING SOMEONE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME & WHEN I WENT TO STOP THERE WAS NO BRAKES BECAUSE THE PEDAL WOULD NOT PUSH. NO ACCIDENT OCCURRED AS I WAS ABLE TO AVOID THE OTHER VEHICLE. TOOK THE CAR BACK TO DEALERSHIP WHERE NO ONE THERE WAS ABLE TO GET IT TO HAPPEN AGAIN SO THEREFORE WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG, BUT I DIDNT PUSH THE BRAKES HARD ENOUGH IN JULY 2017, WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPOT, WENT TO STOP TO PUT THE CAR INTO DRIVE, THERE WAS AGAIN NO BRAKES. WE TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK AGAIN TO THE DEALERSHIP BECAUSE ONCE AGAIN THE BRAKES WERE NOT WORKING & THE BRAKE PEDAL HAD TO BE STOMPED ON TO GET IT TO EVEN MOVE A LITTLE BIT. WAS TOLD THAT THE MASTER CYLINDER HAD GONE OUT IN THE CAR AND THAT THE BRAKE BOOSTER MAY ALSO NEED TO BE REPLACED AS WELL. WE THEN HAD THE MASTER CYLINDER REPLACED. THAT DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM. SO THEN WE HAD THE BRAKE BOOSTER REPLACED. WE PICKED UP THE VEHICLE ONLY TO FIND OUT WHEN ACCELERATING BUT NEED TO STOP THERE IS AGAIN NO BRAKES. THE CAR IS BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP WHO IS NOW STATING THAT IT COULD POSSIBLY BE THE BREAK BOOSTER CHECK VALUE BUT ARE NOT 100% SURE THAT THIS WILL FIX THE PROBLEM BUT DID STATE THAT IF THE ORIGINAL RECALL HAD BEEN DONE THAT WE WOULD NOT BE HAVING ANY OF THE PROBLEMS WE ARE HAVING NOW. I INFORMED THEM THAT THE RECALL WAS DONE AT ANOTHER CHEVY DEALERSHIP. SO AFTER ALMOST 2 YEARS $2,500 LATER WE STILL HAVE A VEHICLE WITHOUT BREAKS WE ARE UNABLE TO DRIVE THAT IS IN THE SHOP ONCE AGAIN.
WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD DOWN THE ROAD, RADIO TURNS ON AND OFF , AC STOPPED BLOWING, LIGHTS FLASHING ON AND OFF, STABILITY TRACK FLASHING, THIS IS A PROBLEM, FIX IT, TOO MANY PEOPLE ARE HAVING THE SAME ISSUE! UNACCEPTABLE!
THE REAR CENTER BRAKE LIGHT STAYS LITE EVEN AFTER TAKING FOOT COMPLETELY OFF THE BRAKE PEDAL. I HAVE TO MANUALLY WITH MY FOOT LIFT /PUSH UP THE BRAKE PEDAL LIGHTLY IN ORDER TO HAVE THE BRAKE LIGHT TURN OFF. THIS HAPPENS VERY FREQUENTLY WHEN DRIVING IN HEAVY STOP AND GO TRAFFIC ON THE HIGHWAY.
MY CAR WILL NOT GO INTO REVERSE AND HESITATED TO GIVE GAS AND NOW MY CAR WON'T GO INTO ANY GEAR , I CURRENTLY SEE ONLINE OTHER PPL WITH THIS CAR THAT HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
SAME ISSUE AS NHTSA ID NUMBER: 11024806 I RECEIVED RECALL #12213 IN OCTOBER 2013 REGARDING BRAKE VACUUM MICRO SWITCH. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO LOCAL DEALERSHIP IN DECEMBER 2013 FOR REPAIR. ON 8/23/17 HAD TO TAKE BACK TO THE DEALER TO HAVE THIS SAME PART REPLACED. DEALER INDICATED THAT SINCE THIS HAD ALREADY BEEN REPAIRED AS PART OF THE REPLACEMENT, WOULD NOT BE COVERED. AS A RESULT, HAD TO PAY $330 OUT OF POCKET TO REPLACE THIS PART WHICH WAS A PREVIOUSLY KNOWN DEFECT THAT HAD YET AGAIN FAILED.
CAR SLOW TO CRANK, CHECK POWER STEERING COMES ON OR CHECK ANTI THEFT SYSTEM OCCASIONALLY. SOMETIMES THE WIPERS, EMERGENCY LIGHTS OR TRUNK POPS OPEN. NO ON CAN GIVE ME AN ANSWER AS TO WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON WITH MY 2012 CRUZ. THIS HAPPENS WHILE THE CAR IS STATIONARY.
ON AUGUST 19, 2017, I WAS ON THE ROAD, DROVE PASSED SOUTH CENTER MALL WHEN I FELT THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING WRONG WITH MY ENGINE BECAUSE IT WASN'T DRIVING FAST AS USUAL. I PULLED OVER TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, AT INSPIRUS CREDIT UNION IN TUKWILA TO CHECK THE ENGINE IF IT WAS OKAY WHEN I SMELLED A FAINT SCENT OF SMOKE. I DROVE BACK HOME TO PARK IT FOR FEAR OF THE ENGINE EXPLODING. OUR FAMILY MECHANIC CHECKED THE ENGINE AND SAID THAT THE FAN IS TOO LOUD AS IF SOMETHING IS CAUSING IT TO BE OVERWORKED. THE ENGINE FAN HAS ALWAYS BEEN LOUD AFTER MY OIL CHANGE ON JULY 21, 2017. THE ENGINE LIGHT HAS NOT BEEN TURNED OFF SINCE THE OIL CHANGE AND I KNOW THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE. ALSO, I ENTERED THE VIN NUMBER ONLINE AND IT SAID THAT THE RECALL ON MY CAR IS INCOMPLETE. THE DEALER DID NOT INFORM ME ABOUT THE RECALL NOR MENTIONED ANYTHING ABOUT IT WHEN I BOUGHT IT. THEY DID NOT GIVE ME A WRITTEN LETTER OF THE RECALL OR EVEN SPECIFIED THE RECALL BEING INCOMPLETE.
TRANSMISSION FAILED ON A BUSY HIGHWAY OUT OF NOWHERE. I SLOWED DOWN DUE TO TRAFFIC, AND MY VEHICLE STALLED. I FELT A SHUDDER / POP, AND I WAS NOT ABLE TO ACCELERATE TO GET MY CAR MOVING AGAIN. I WAS LUCKY NOT TO BE IN A SERIOUS ACCIDENT. CONVENIENTLY FAILED RIGHT OUT OF WARRANTY.
WIPERS STARTED STOPPING WHEN ON. IF YOU TURN THEM OFF AND THEN ON THEY WORK FOR A VERY SHORT TIME THEN STOP AGAIN. WHEN THE WIPERS ARE IN THE OFF POSITION THEY STOP RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE DRIVERS VIEW. TOOK TO DEALER, DEALER STATED THE BODY CONTROL MODULE WAS GOING OUT AND WOULD AFFECT MORE AND MORE OF THE CAR AND COULD POSE A SAFETY HAZARD.
WHEN I TRY AND START MY CAR SOMETIME IT STALLS LIKE IT DOESN'T WANT TO CRANK UP AND WHEN I FINALLY DO GET IT CRANK THE EMERGENCY LIGHTS FLASH, POWER STEERING COMES ON THE SCREEN AND THEN WINDSHIELD WIPERS COME ON. I HAD THIS PROBLEM PREVIOUS A COUPLE MONTHS AGAIN TO WHERE WHEN I CRANK IT THE TRUNK CAME OPEN AND THE STABILITAK AND JERK AND OTHER THINGS WOULD POP UP. THEY PUT IT ON THE MACHINE AND IT SAID IT WAS MISFIRES SO I WENT AND GOT IT FIXED NOW IT'S HAPPENING AGAIN.
CHEVROLET CRUZE 2012 DELAYED STEERING WHEN TURNING, THEN SLUGGISH WOULD NOT GO PAST FIRST GEAR. I WAS DRIVING ON CITY STREET NOTICED DIFFICULTY TURNING AND SLOWNESS SO STOPPED AT NEAREST GAS STATION. GOT VEHICLE TOWED TO DEALER AND DIAGNOSED WITH TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THIS WAS SUDDEN, ALWAYS KEPT UP WITH REGULAR MAINTENANCE, OIL CHANGES & TUNE UPS! THIS SHOULD NOT HAPPEN TO A CAR BARELY 5 YEARS OLD CAR AND WELL MAINTAINED!
VALVE COVER REPLACEMENT - MY CAR HAS HAD VARIOUS CODES GOING FOR MONTHS. THESE VARIOUS CODES ALL POINT TO AN EMISSIONS LEAK FROM THE VALVE COVER AND NOW I HAVE TO REPLACE THIS AND IT IS ONE ENTIRE UNIT. I SEE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THESE SPRINGS AND VALVE COVERS. IF CHEVROLET KNEW IT WAS A PROBLEM, WHY WOULDN'T THEY RECALL THESE AND FIX THIS BEFORE MAKING A SINGLE MOM LIKE ME WHOSE TRYING TO GO BACK TO SCHOOL, PAY FOR THIS! I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT PULLING OUT IN FRONT SOMEONE AND THE CAR STALLING AND RISKING MY AND MY CHILDREN'S LIVES ALL BECAUSE CHEVY USED A CHEAP, POORLY DESIGNED PART FOR THIS!
2012 CHECK CRUZE W VIN NUMBER THAT SHOWS NO RECALL HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AS RECALLED CARS. DATED AND MFRD IN THE SAME MONTHS. TRANSMISSION PROBLEM "SURGING" OR JUMPING OUT OF GEAR AND THEN BACK IN. LATER THE CAR DID NOT GO IN REVERSE FROM A PARKED POSITION AND FINALLY, THE CAR STOPPED 100% AND WOULD NOT DRIVE. AT NO TIME WAS THE CAR BEING RACED, AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS OR STRUGGLING WITH LARGE HILLS OR ETC. SPEEDS WERE AT SIDE ROAD SPEEDS OF 0(PARKING LOT) -25-35 MPH ZONES. MILEAGE IS AT 72,000 MILES CLEARLY WITHIN THE 1000,000 MILE TIMEFRAME. THIS TRANSMISSION PROBLEM FROM LOOKING AT ALL OF THE REPORTED ACROSS THE NET SHOULD BE DEFINITIVELY ON RECALL AS I'VE READ MANY REVIEWS ABOUT THE 2011 AND 2012 MODELS HAVING THESE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS. ALL 2012 MODELS NOT JUST SOME OF THE DATES. IT CLEARLY APPEARS THAT ALL MONTHS OF 2012 MODELS WERE AFFECTED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE REVERSING AT 2 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL TRAVELED TO THE FLOORBOARD AND THE VEHICLE FAILED TO SLOW DOWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE MICRO SWITCH IN THE POWER BRAKE VACUUM PIPE ASSEMBLY FAILED AND THE SWITCH, VACUUM PUMP, AND PIPE ASSEMBLY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND STATED THAT THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V360000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 33,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2012 CHEVROLET CRUZE ECO. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, A "TURN AIR CONDITIONER OFF, ENGINE OVERHEATING" MESSAGE APPEARED. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF THE AIR CONDITIONER; HOWEVER, SEVERAL MINUTES LATER, AN "ENGINE OVERHEATING" MESSAGE DISPLAYED. THE CONTACT PARKED THE VEHICLE, TURNED OFF THE ENGINE, AND WAITED TEN MINUTES. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO DRIVE THE VEHICLE WITHOUT ANY WARNING MESSAGES APPEARING. HOWEVER, LATER IN THE DAY, THE ENGINE OVERHEATING MESSAGE DISPLAYED AGAIN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC (FIRESTONE COMPLETE AUTO CARE 1031 MT ZION RD, MORROW, GA 30260 (770) 225-1530) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A THERMOSTAT HOUSING AND THERMOSTAT FAILURE WHICH NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE MECHANIC THAT THE VEHICLE WAS DESIGNED TO WITHSTAND THE HEAT CONDITIONS IN A STATE SUCH AS GEORGIA. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 74,695.
A LOSS OF BRAKING ASSISTANCE WILL REQUIRE EXTRA PEDAL FORCE AND/OR DISTANCE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

WE HAD THE CAR TOWED BY AAA 7-17-2017 TO MASTER TRANSMISSION IN ROSEMOUNT MN , AFTER LEARNING THIS WILL COST $3500.00 TO REPAIR , WE CALLED CHEVROLET CUSTOMER ASSISTANCE CENTER AT 1-800-222-1020 ON 7-18-2017 TALKED TO ARLEEN, WE EXPLAINED OUR SITUATION SHE TOOK OUR INFORMATION , GAVE US A CASE # 8-3096863922, SHE SAID SHE COULD HELP, THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF THIS AND NOT TO WORRY. SHE TRANSFERRED US TO GM ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE AND THEY TOWED THE CAR TO VALLEY CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP IN HASTINGS MN. ON 7-20-2017 THIS DEALERSHIP CALLED US AND SAID THEY RECEIVED AN EMAIL FROM CHEVROLET STATING CHEVROLET WILL PAY ZERO FOR THIS REPAIR. THE PROBLEM IS ( WHY DID THEY SAY THEY CAN HELP & WILL TAKE CARE OF THIS ) THEN TOW THE CAR WILLINGLY TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEN REVERSE THEIR DECISION ? ON TOP OF ALL THIS THE DEALERSHIP WANTS EVEN MORE MONEY OVER $3700.00 TO REPAIR. THIS CHEVROLET CORPORATION MADE OUR SITUATION EVEN WORSE BECAUSE THEY DON'T STAND BEHIND THEIR PRODUCT OR WORDS. IT'S A HIGHER REPAIR AT DEALERSHIP AND THEY WILLINGLY TOWED THE CAR TO DEALERSHIP AND NOW WANT US TO PAY TOW BACK TO ROSEMOUNT MN . WE NEVER KNEW WE WERE BUYING A $20,000.00 DISPOSABLE VEHICLE. WE HAVE (2 IGNITION KEYS) 1 BROKE IN HALF UNDER NORMAL USE , THE OTHER KEY HAS A FRACTURE ON THE VERGE OF SNAPPING IN HALF FROM NORMAL USE.
EXHIBITING THE ROCK HARD BRAKE ISSUE THAT CHEVY ISSUED RECALL 12213 AND 12213A FOR, BUT MY VIN IS NOT COVERED BY THE RECALL.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2012 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE CONTACT'S VEHICLE REAR ENDED ANOTHER VEHICLE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED FROM THE SCENE. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE LOCAL DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT CONTACTED. THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 70,000.
INTERMITTENT REDUCTION OR LOSS OF BRAKE ASSIST. THE LOSS OF BRAKING ASSISTANCE REQUIRES EXTRA PEDAL FORCE AND/OR DISTANCE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP.
2012 CHEVROLET CRUZ. CONSUMER WRITES IN REGARDS TO BRAKES MALFUNCTIONING WHEN TRYING TO STOP VEHICLE. *LD THE CONSUMER STATED IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT A BRAKE VACUUM MICRO SWITCH MALFUNCTIONED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AND THE FAILURE RECURRED. *JS
WHILE DRIVING MY 012 CHEVY CRUZE, A MESSAGE CAME UP STATING 'SERVICE STABILITRAK' AND THE RADIO SHUTS OFF AND TURNS BACK ON RANDOMLY. ALSO, WHEN AT A COMPLETE STOP, THE AC WILL STOP BLOWING AND THEN PICK BACK UP.
CAR WHEN IN PARK WITH PARKING BREAK AND IDILING IN NEUTRAL. THE STEERING WHEEL WILL JERK, THE SPEEDOMETER WILL SPIKE AT MAX SPEED AND DOORS WILL LOCK AND ALL DASH LIGHTS FLASH ON. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD BETWEEN 25 TO 45 MPH THE RADIO WILL TURN ITSELF OFF AND THEN BACK ON FOR NO REASON. ALSO WHILE TURNING AT SLOW SPEED, CAR WILL RESET ITSELF. AS IN IT WILL LOSE ALL POWER TO THE POWER STEERING, AC, RADIO, EVERYTHING AND YOU WILL HAVE TO RESTART THE CAR. NOT SAFE AT ALL WHEN DRIVING IN TRAFFIC.
VEHICLE WOULD NOT START COULD NOT OPEN CAR BUT THE DASH LIGHT WERE ON & ONCE INSIDE THE WINDOW WOULD GO UP & AND DOWN. HAVE CHANGED BATTERY BUT STILL NOT WORKING.
COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKING ASSIST ON 6/20/2017. TIME: APPROX. 10 AM. WEATHER CONDITIONS: SUNNY, 80 DEG F. SPEED: UNDER 5MPH. WHILE MANEUVERING OUT OF A TIGHT PARKING PLACE (REVERSE THEN FORWARD), THE CAR HAD A SUDDEN COMPLETE LOSS OF BRAKING ASSIST. THIS REQUIRED A VERY HIGH AMOUNT OF FORCE TO STOP THE VEHICLE. AT FIRST, I THOUGHT THE ENGINE HAD DIED. HOWEVER, IT HAD NOT. AFTER REVERSING TO COMPLETE THE MANEUVER, THE BRAKE ASSIST RETURNED TO NORMAL.
AS I WAS DRIVING MY RADIO STARTED GOING ON AND OFF THEN CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF STEERING WHILE WENT STIFF TO THE LEFT AND LOCKED AS I WAS ON THE ROAD SCARED THE LIVING SPIRIT OUT OF ME WAS THE SCARIEST EXPERIENCES LUCKLY I WAS ALONE WITHOUT MY KIDS BECAUSE THAT COULD OF BEEN A FATAL ACCIDENT. IN WAS VERY LUCKY IT WAS NOT A BUSY MORNING THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPEN AND I WAS ABLE TO KEEP TO LEFT UNTIL CAR CAME TO A STOP AT THE CURVE. THIS HAS HAPPEN TO ME MORE THAN ONCE THAT I STOPPED DRIVING CAR STOPPED PAYING IT BECAUSE IT WAS A LEMON SO MANY THINGS WENT WRONG 3MNTHS AFTER BUYING CAR AT USED DEALERS I FELT CHEATED AND STUCK I EVEN LOST MY JOB BECAUSE I WASNT ABLE TO GET TO WORK ON TIME OR AT ALL AT TIMES BECAUSE OF CAR PROBLEMS

WHEN PUTTING MY 2012 CHEVY CRUZE INTO REVERSE TO BACK UP, THE BRAKES DO NOT SEEM TO WORK PROPERLY - THE CAR DOES NOT STOP UNTIL I PRESS ON THE BRAKE VERY HARD. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING MORE OFTEN NOW THEN BEFORE - ALMOST EVERY TIME IN CAR, MAKING DRIVING/PARKING BACKING OUT OF PARKING LOT, VERY UNNERVING. THIS IS ON LEVEL GRADE - NOT ON A HILL. I'VE ALSO NEED ON-LINE THIS WAS PART OF A MAJOR RECALL, BUT WHEN CONTACTED CHEVROLET HQ, THEY SAID THAT THIS WAS NOT AN ISSUE FOR MY VIN. I'M SURE THEY WOULD CHANGE THEIR MIND JUST SITTING IN MY CAR ONCE. THIS SHOULD BE CORRECTED BY CHEVROLET AT NO COST - AND/OR BE PART OF THE RECALL.
TAKES NA LONG TIME TO TAKE OFF. THE CAR JERKS A LOT AND THE STEERING WHEEL GETS STUCK..

THE DEALER ALSO STATED THAT EVEN THOUGH THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED THE FAILURES IN A RECALL ,IT DID NOT MEAN HER VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 13V360000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED DUE TO THE DIAGNOSTIC FEE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND CONFIRMED THAT THERE WAS NO RECALL UNDER THE VIN, AND THAT A MANAGER WOULD CONTACT HER BACK. NO FURTHER ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. IN THE LAST 2 WEEKS SINCE THEREPAIR, THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME 2 MORE TIMES, ONLY TO HAVE THE DEALERSHIP TELL ME THEY ARE UNABLE TO RETRIEVE CODES TO DIAGNOIS THE PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN FORTUNATE THAT THE REDUCE POWER HAS BEEN HAPPENING EARLY IN MY TRIPS.
