TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE PULLING INTO THE DRIVEWAY, STRONG FUMES EMITTED INSIDE THE VEHICLE AND WITHIN THE AIR VENTS. THE CONTACT TURNED OFF THE AIR CONDITIONER AND THE ENGINE OVERHEATING WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED, AND SMOKE ENTERED THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO TURN OFF THE VEHICLE AND SHE AND A CHILD PASSENGER EXITED THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER (GORDON CHEVROLET, 6301 E ROOSEVELT BLVD, PHILADELPHIA, PA 19149, (215) 537-2377) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND ASKED THE CONTACT TO HAVE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TOW THE VEHICLE TO THEM FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESINT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 18,148.
BOUGHT USED (12,700 MILES, GM CERTIFIED) ON SATURDAY. CAR STARTED BY ITSELF WHEN PARKED, WITHOUT KEY IN THE IGNITION, ON TUESDAY. NO AUTOMATIC STARTER INSTALLED.
I HADE MY RIGHT TURN SIGNAL REFLECTOR CAME OFF. WITCH IS SETTING IN THE HEAD LIGHT WITCH COULD DAMAGE THE HEAD LIGHT AND COULD EFFECT THE ABILITY TO SEE IF THE HEAD LIGHT GETS DAMAGE.
I WAS REAR ENDED ON THE FREEWAY AT A VERY HIGH RATE OF SPEED. I WAS TRAVELING AT 65-70 MPH... THE CAR THAT HIT ME WAS APPROXIMATELY TRAVELING 85-90.. THE IMPACT SENT ME ACROSS THE 2 AND 1 LANE IN TRAFFIC.. NO AIR BAGS DEPLOYED ANYWHERE IN THE VEHICLE. HOWEVER SMOKE FROM THE BAG FILLED THE PASSENGER SPACE AND THE DASH INDICATOR LIGHTS , DISPLAY A DEPLOYMENT HAD TAKEN PLACE. AGAIN NO BAGS DEPLOYED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED, THE SUN ROOF EXPLODED. THE CONTACT MENTION THAT THE INTERIOR SLIDE WAS CLOSED AND THERE WAS NO GLASS IN THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER, BUT IT COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 55,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE ATTEMPTING TO ACCELERATE THE VEHICLE, IT BEGAN TO SPUTTER AND HESITATE. THE DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 27,250.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE BRAKES MALFUNCTIONED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE EMERGENCY BRAKE INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WITHOUT WARNING. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT PASSENGER WHEEL SEIZED. THE DEALER DIAGNOSED THAT THE VEHICLE ENGAGED IN ABS DIAGNOSTIC MODE, WHICH CAUSED A TRANSMISSION FAILURE. THE MASTER CYLINDER WAS REPLACED IN THE VEHICLE, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 9,000.
INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FLICKERS. THEN RADIO GOES OUT. WARNINGS FOR STABLITRACK, CRUISE CONTROL AND ANTILOCK BRAKES. GAUGES GO DOWN. POWER STEERING GOES OUT AND CAR JERKS SUDDENLY. OCCURS REPEATEDLY WHEN THE CAR HAS BEEN OPERATING ABOUT AN HOUR WITH HIGHWAY SPEEDS AROUND 65MPH.
ALARM GOES OFF RANDOMLY SAYS THE BACK DRIVER DOOR IS OPEN WHEN IT'S NOT. ALSO CHIMES CONSTANTLY WHEN TRYING TO PUT BACK WINDOW DOWN. I'VE TAKE IT TO PLACES AND THEY SAY IT'S GONNA BE 300 DOLLARS. I FEEL I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO PAY FOR AN ISSUE THAT HAPPENED RANDOMLY AND IS HAPPENING TO MORE THAN JUST MY VEHICLE.
THE CAR TURN OFF ON IT SELF WHEN IM DRIVING, IT ALL READY HAPPEN 5 TIMES ON A ROW, I TOOK THE VEHICLE TO MISSION CHEVROLET AT EL PASO TX, WHERE I BUY THE CAR AT BUT THE GUYS FROM SERVICE CAN'T FIND WHAT ITS WRONG WITH THE CAR, I ALREADY TALK WITH THE SUPERVISOR FROM SERVICE DEPARTMENT AND A GUY FROM GM SO WE CAN TAKE IT TO THE NEXT LEVEL. I ALREADY TOOK THE CAR TO GET FIX 8 TIMES AND THEY CAN'T FIND THE PROBLEM.

WHILE DRIVING & IN STOPPED POSITION AT LIGHT THE RADIO WILL INTERMITTENTLY TURN OFF & BACK ON AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT. I JUST PURCHASED THE VEHICLE NOT EVEN 1 1/2 MOS. AGO. THIS HAS BEEN HAPPENING APPROXIMATELY ONCE OR TWICE EVERY WEEK FOR ABOUT 4 WEEKS NOW.I HAVE TRIED TO LOOK FOR SOME SOLUTION TO THIS & HAVE RESEARCHED BUT THERE HAD BEEN VAGUE INFORMATION OR NO ANSWER AT ALL . I HAVE NOTICED THAT IT HAS BEEN AN ONGOING SITUATION THAT HAD BEEN INDICATED IN HERE BUT HAS THERE'S BEEN ANY RESOLUTION TO THE MATTER? I DON'T THINK I SHOULD HAVE TO BE CONCERNED WITH THIS WHOLE EITHER DRIVING OR AT A STOP LIGHT THAT THE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM WILL GO OUT, IF ANY AT ALL. I HOPE SOME KIND OF RESOLUTION OR RECALL WILL BE DONE FOR THIS, TOO ME, A MAJOR PROBLEM.
POWER ASSIST FAILED, MAKING STEERING DIFFICULT, HAPPENED DURING LANE CHANGE ON FREEWAY AT 70 MPH, THIS HAPPENED IN CONJUNCTION WITH RANDOM SCREEN LOSS ON INFOTAINMENT SCREEN. ALSO RANDOM ERROR MESSAGES. UPON TAKING CAR TO DEALER, THEY AGREED IT WAS PROBABLY AN ISSUE ADDRESSED UNDER SPECIAL COVERAGE 14311, BUT IT TURNED OUT THAT IT WAS NOT. MY 24 YR OLD DAUGHTER WAS DRIVING , I AM THANKFUL SHE SURVIVED, NO ONE SHOULD EXPERIENCE LOSS OF POWER STEERING, ESPECIALLY ON THE FREEWAY. ODDLY I ENDED UP PAYING OUT OF MY POCKET FOR A NEW BATTERY AND A POS AND A NEG CABLE. IT WOULD APPEAR THAT GM SHOULD ALERT MORE OWNERS OF THIS ISSUE THAN THEY HAVE SO FAR, TO PREVENT FURTHER DEATHS. *TR
WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT, THE CAR STARTED JERKING BACK AND FORTH. TRACTION CONTROL WARNING CAME ON. TOOK TO DEALERSHIP THEY CHANGED OUT BATTERY. NEXT DAY, THE SAME THING HAPPENS; WHILE STOPPED WITH FOOT ON THE BRAKE THE CAR STARTED JERKING BACK AND FORTH. THIS TIME NO TRACTION CONTROL WARNING.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2015 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE DRIVING 15 MPH, SMOKE APPEARED FROM THE ENGINE. IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE LEAKED OIL ONTO THE GROUND. THE VEHICLE WAS DIAGNOSED AS NEEDING THE ENGINE OIL FILTER COVER SEAL AND CAP SEAL REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED, BUT THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,650.
TL* THE CONTACT RENTED A 2015 CHEVROLET CRUZE. WHILE DRIVING AT UNKNOWN SPEEDS, THE GEAR SHIFT CHANGED TO THE MANUAL POSITION WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THERE WAS AN ABNORMAL ODOR COMING FROM THE AIR VENTS INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,500. THE CONSUMER STATED SHE HAD A HABIT OF RESTING HER ARM ON THE GEAR SHIFT, AND HAD DONE SO MANY TIMES. HOWEVER, THE LAST TIME HER ARM BRUSHED AGAINST THE GEAR SHIFT AND THE GEAR UNLOCKED. UPDATED 01/31/17*JB
I PURCHASED THIS 2015 CRUZ WITH 18,000 MILES ON THE VEHICLE FROM LEE JOHNSON CHEVROLET IN KIRKLAND, WA. IT HAS BEEN BACK TO THE MECHANIC 3 SEPARATE TIMES WITH A COMPLAINT THAT THIS VEHICLE EXCELERATES SPORADICALLY AND WITHOUT NOTICE. THERE IS NO FAULT CODES THAT COME UP. THE MECHANICS DRIVE IT BUT THIS DOES'NT HAPPEN TO HIM, THEREFORE THEY STATE THAT THIS IS NOT A PROBLEM. I FEEL TOTALLY UNSAFE WHEN THIS HAPPENS AND I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THIS CAR. ( I DRIVE WITH ONE HAND ON THE GEARSHIFT IN CASE THIS HAPPENS SO I CAN PUT IT IN NEUTRAL IMMEDIATELY. I WANT THIS COMPLAINT TO GO ON RECORD THAT I HAVE FILED THIS CLAIM AS WELL AS WORKED WITH THE MECHANICS ON 3 DIFFERENT OCCASIONS AND FEEL AS IF I HAVE NO RECOURSE FOR WHAT I CONSIDER A SERIOUS PROBLEM
I AM NOT COMPLAINING ABOUT AN SAFETY INCIDENT. I'M COMPLAINING ABOUT CHEVROLET'S HANDLING OF A POTENTIAL SAFETY ISSUE. I RECEIVED A LETTER ADVISING OF A POSSIBLE ISSUE WITH THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL, THAT IT MAY BREAK RENDERING THE CAR UNUSABLE. CHEVY EXPLICITLY SAYS NOT TO BRING THE CAR TO A DEALER FOR REPAIRS, BUT INSTEAD, THEY WILL EXTEND THE WARRANTY ON THAT PART, AND COVER THE REPAIR IF IT FAILS. SOMETHING OF THIS SERIOUS AND DEBILITATING A NATURE SHOULD BE FIXED UNDER RECALL, IN MY OPINION. I WILL SUBMIT THE LETTER I RECEIVED FOR YOUR REVIEW.

OTHER VEHICLE WAS TRYING TO RUN OTHERS OFF THE ROAD AND CUT PEOPLE OFF.
MY CAR HAS A "KNOCKING" SOUND, I'VE BEEN TOLD IT'S MY "LIFTERS" AND THAT MY CAR IS TOO NEW TO SOUND LIKE THIS ALREADY! I AM THE FIRST OWNER AND I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO THE DEALERSHIP SINCE DAY ONE FOR OIL CHANGES OR ANY OTHER ISSUES
I WAS PULLING OUT OF A PARKING LOT TURNING RIGHT TO CROSS 3 LANES ON A 6 LANE ROAD. MY CAR HAD BEEN PARKED FOR AT LEAST 20 MINUTES WHILE I WAS IN THE STORE AND I HAD JUST STARTED IT WITHIN 2 MINUTES OF THIS HAPPENING. I WAS DRIVING ABOUT 15-20 MPH. WHEN I NEEDED TO VEER RIGHT MY STEERING WHEEL WOULD NOT MOVE. I HAD TO SLAM ON THE BRAKES AFTER GOING ONTO THE NARROW CENTER MEDIAN AND NEARLY GOING OVER INTO ONCOMING TRAFFIC. MY CAR HAD COMPLETELY SHUT OFF WHICH HAD DISABLED THE POWER STEERING. AS SOON AS I REALIZED WHAT HAD HAPPENED THE POWER CAME BACK ON AND I WAS ABLE TO DRIVE OFF. I IMMEDIATELY WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE MECHANICS SAID THEY HAD NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE AND ADVISED ME TO COME BACK THE NEXT MORNING AS IT WAS LATER IN THE EVENING AND THE MAIN MECHANICS HAD GONE HOME. THERE WERE NO INDICATOR LIGHTS ON WHEN THIS OCCURRED. I REALIZED AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT ON THE DASHBOARD THERE WAS A MESSAGE TO ROLL MY DRIVER WINDOW DOWN AND BACK UP. THE SERVICE ADVISER TOLD ME THIS WAS TO RESET OR REPROGRAM THE VEHICLE SINCE IT HAD SHUT DOWN. THEY DID HAVE ME OPEN THE HOOD TO SEE IF ANY WIRES APPEARED TO BE LOOSE. HOWEVER, THEY MECHANIC INDICATED THAT EVERYTHING LOOKED BRAND NEW, THE ENGINE WAS CLEAN AND IN PRISTINE CONDITION, AND HE NOTED THAT ALL OF THE NUMBER ON THE PARTS WERE STILL VISIBLE. I LEFT AND HAD TO GO TO THE STORE. WHILE PARKED, AND ON THE PHONE, AGAIN VIA BLUETOOTH, EXPLAINING TO MY MOTHER WHAT HAD HAPPENED, MY RADIO COMPLETELY SHUT OFF. TWO TIMES IN PRIOR WEEKS MY RADIO HAD SHUT OFF WHILE DRIVING. ALL OF THESE INSTANCES ONLY LASTED A FEW SECONDS. I HAVE HAD THIS CAR FOR ONLY 1 MONTH. THERE WAS ONE PREVIOUS DRIVER AND THERE ARE ONLY 32,000 MILES ON IT. THE CAR IS AT THE DEALERSHIP NOW, SO I HAVE NO INDICATION OF THE ISSUE AT THIS TIME. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING IN THIS CAR KNOWING THAT IT COULD TURN OFF AT ANY MOMENT POTENTIALLY CAUSING AN ACCIDENT.
WE JUST PURCHASED THIS CAR SATURDAY 28 MAY '16, AND DROVE IT OFF THE DEALER LOT AT 5:09PM. WITHIN 2 HOURS, WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY AT 60-75MPH, THE STEERING BEGAN TO CATCH & STICK IN PLACE. WE HAD TO JERK THE WHEEL RATHER FORCEFULLY TO GET IT TO CUT LOOSE & ALLOW US, A HUMAN, TO ONCE AGAIN GAIN CONTROL OF THE STEERING OF THIS CAR. THE NEXT DAY, WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE FREEWAY AGAIN, THE SAME THING, ONLY THIS TIME, THE WIND GUST BLEW SO HARD IT BLEW THE CAR INTO THE OTHER LANE! THANK GOD, THERE WAS NO ONE IN THAT LANE AT THAT MOMENT. THIS IS ALL DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE CAR'S COMPUTERIZED STEERING SYSTEM WOULD NOT ALLOW THE DRIVER TO CORRECT THE STEERING WHEN INCURRING WIND PRESSURE! YOU FOLKS AT NHTSA, AS WELL AS GM, KNOW THIS IS A PROBLEM & YET EVEN NHTSA REP, CATHERINE HOWDEN, IMPLIED ITS NOT DANGEROUS AND DOES NOT WARRANT A RECALL WHEN SHE STATED: "...THE SYMPTOMS DESCRIBED WOULD BE A BRIEF, PERCEPTIBLE CHANGE IN STEERING FEEL THAT HAS LITTLE TO NO EFFECT ON THE DRIVERS ABILITY TO SAFELY STEER THE VEHICLE." BS!! YOU DRIVE ONE OF THESE CARS OUT ON THE FREEWAY. PUT YOUR PRECIOUS FAMILY IN IT & THEN TELL ME IT'S SAFE! THIS HAS THE FAMILIAR STENCH OF BRIBERY WRITTEN ALL OVER IT! TO TOP IT ALL OFF; AS SOON AS THE SHOPS OPENED TUESDAY, I TOOK THIS CAR INTO A SHOP THAT I KNOW I CAN TRUST, TO FIX THE ISSUE. THEY WERE STRAIGHT UP & TOLD ME "THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH THE ELECTRONIC STEERING THAT CHEVY MAKES. IT'S THEIR COMPUTER PROBLEM & THEY HAVE TO FIX IT. WE DON'T HAVE THE TOOLS." I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER THAT DAY & THEY REFUSED TO FIX IT! WHY? BECAUSE, ACCORDING TO THE CLERK AT SMITH CHEVROLET, LUKE, THEY DROVE IT 8 MILES AND IT DIDN'T CATCH FOR THEM. WHAT A JOKE!! IT HAS ALREADY BEEN WELL ESTABLISHED THAT THE CAR HAS TO BE DRIVEN FOR AT LEAST AN HOUR BEFORE THIS WILL HAPPEN. WHERE IS YOUR CONSCIENCE? FIX THIS!! IT IS VERY DANGEROUS!!!
STEERING SEEMS TO GET STUCK IN STRAIGHT LINE HIGHWAY DRIVING AND WHEN TRYING TO TURN TO GO WITH CURVE OF THE ROAD YOU FEEL RESISTANCE AND THEN SUDDENLY GOES WAY MAKING YOU SWERVE FROM MIDDLE OF LANE TO OUTSIDE OF LANE SCARRING NOT ONLY YOU BUT OTHER DRIVERS AS WELL.
SINCE OWNING MY NEW 2015 CRUZE I HAVE HAD SEVERAL CONCERNS WHICH HAVE NOT BEEN ADDRESSED OF FIXED BY THE TECHNICIANS THE LIST IS: WHILE TRAVELING DOWN THE ROAD MY RADIO SYSTEM HAS BLACKED OUT; SHUT OFF AND RESTARTED ITSELF; IT HAPPENS EVERY OTHER TIME I AM IN THE CAR, SOMETIME IT HAPPENS SEVERAL TIME ON A LONG DRIVE. I HAVE ALSO EXPERIENCE DRIFTING OF THE CAR WHEN TRAVELING DOWN THE HIGHWAY; WHEN I CORRECT THE DRIFT THE STEERING WHEEL IS STIFF AND CAUSES AN OVER CORRECTION PULLING ME THE OTHER DIRECTION. THE BIGGEST CONCERN I HAVE EXPERIENCE LATELY IS THE LOUD HIGH PITCHED NOISE COMING FROM UNDER THE HOOD; THIS OCCURS AFTER I HAVE PARKED THE CAR AND REMOVED THE KEY; ONE TIME I COULD HEAR THE COOLANT LINES GURGLING. VERY SCARY NOT KNOWING WHAT IS GOING ON UNDER THERE.
MY RADIO CONNECTION GOES IN AND OUT. IT STOP AUTOMATIC AND RESTART AUTOMATIC. I HAD PROBLEMS WITH BATTERY, REPLACED COUPLE OF TIMES. *TR
CAR IS IN FOR SERVICE FOR 3RD TIME -- INTERMITTENT ELECTRICAL PROBLEM CAUSING LOSS OF TRANSMISSION (I.E. REVS THEN DROPS IN AND OUT OF GEAR); DRIVER DISPLAY WARNINGS INCLUDE SERVICE STABILITRAK, SERVICE POWER STEERING, SERVICE TRANSMISSION. POWER DOOR LOCKS ALSO OPERATE ON THEIR OWN. INSTRUMENT CLUSTER GAUGES WILL DROP TOWARDS THEIR OFF POSITION, THEN RESUME NORMAL POSITION DURING THESE EVENTS. IF THE CAR IS SHUT OFF, SOMETIMES A "NO START" CONDITION WILL OCCUR WHEN THE KEY IS TURNED TO THE START POSITION, GAUGES WILL OPERATE NORMAL EVEN WITH NO START CONDITION. AFTER RAPIDLY CYCLING THE KEY OFF/ON/START POSITION FOR SOMETIMES UP TO 30 TIMES, CAR HAS ALWAYS EVENTUALLY STARTED. SOMETIMES CONDITION HAS CLEARED, OTHER TIMES TRANSMISSION IS STUCK IN A GEAR (3RD FOR PREVIOUS DEALERSHIP VISIT, 4TH FOR CURRENT VISIT) BUT NOT IN A LIMP HOME MODE AS FULL ENGINE POWER IS AVAILABLE. MANUAL SHIFTING IS NOT PERMITTED, "SHIFT DENIED" APPEARING ON THE DRIVER DISPLAY. VERY CONCERNED ABOUT SAFETY AS DEALERSHIP CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT TRANSMISSION WILL NOT DROP INTO LOWER GEAR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS. IF THE TRANSMISSION WERE TO SUDDENLY DROP INTO 3RD AT 75 MPH WITH NO APPLICATION OF THE BRAKES, THE CAR BEHIND ME MAY NOT BE ABLE TO REACT TO THE SUDDEN DROP IN MY VEHICLE'S SPEED. CONDITION HAS HAPPENED WHEN VEHICLE AND COMPONENTS ARE HOT, SUCH AS AFTER HIGHWAY/CITY DRIVING FOR 2 HOURS.

A POLICE REPORT WAS NOT FILED AND THERE WERE NO INJURIES. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A CONTUSION TO THE CHEST. THE REAR PASSENGERS AND DRIVER SUSTAINED CONCUSSIONS TO THE HEAD. MEDICAL ATTENTION WAS REQUIRED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
CRUZE ECO STEERING STICKS WHEN DRIVING DOWN HIGHWAY AFTER A FEW SECONDS OF NO INPUT. THEN WHEN YOU TURN IT STICKS AND THEN JERKS A BIT WHEN IT FREES UP. THIS COULD BE A SAFETY ISSUE WHEN ROADS ARE ICY OR IF THIS GETS WORSE. I AM CURRENTLY TRYING TO GET INFORMATION OR REPAIR FROM DEALER.
ON THE SAME DAY, WITHIN A FEW HOURS OF EACH OCCURRENCE,FIRST I HAD THE KEYS IN IGNITION AND VEHICLE RUNNING, AND SHUT THE DOOR AND ALL FOUR DOORS LOCKED. THEN A FEW HOURS LATER, I TRIED TO PUT THE VEHICLE IN TO DRIVE AND IT WOULD ONLY REV UP AND WOULD NOT GO FORWARD. WHEN THIS HAPPENED, THE D FOR DRIVE ON DASH WAS FLASHING. REVERSE WORKED FINE. IN BOTH INSTANCES THE CAR WAS STATIONARY. WHEN THE CAR WAS LOCKED, WE USED THE SPARE KEY TO MANUALLY OPEN THE DOOR. IN THE SECOND INSTANCE, I HAD THE CAR TOWED TO A DEALER. HAVING TROUBLE UPLOADING THE SERVICE RECEIPT, BUT THEY FOUND NOTHING WRONG.
THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS FLASH ALONG WITH THE RADIO/NAVIGATION SCREEN AND SOUND SYSTEM WHILE DRIVING. THIS HAPPENS WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION AND HAS BEGUN HAPPENING MORE FREQUENTLY NOW. ALSO, SOMETIMES THE KEY CONTROL DOES NOT WORK FOR THE CAR EVEN THOUGH THE KEY BATTERY IS UP TO DATE.
SOMETIMES WHEN SLOWING TO A STOP, THE CAR ENGINE ACCELERATES. I HAVE TO STEP ON BRAKES VERY HARD TO KEEP THE CAR FROM GOING FORWARD. ON NOVEMBER 5, 2015, I WAS SLOWLY PULLING INTO A PARKING SPACE AND THE CAR ACCELERATED, I STEPPED ON BRAKES REALLY HARD BUT THE CAR WENT FORWARD...INTO A STONE WALL. I HAVE A DIESEL CRUZE 2015 THE PROBLEM IS THE CAR DOES NOT TELL ME IF I AM IN REGEN FOR THE DPF. THE REASON THAT IS A PROBLEM IS THAT IF THE REGEN FAILS 3 TIMES I HAVE TO GO TO THE DEALER FOR 320.00 OUT OF POCKET EXPENSE. THE CAR DOES NOT GIVE ME ANY INDICATION I HAVE TO KEEP DRIVING TO REGEN THE DPF IT JUST FAILS WITHIN SECONDS OF THE DIC MESSAGE AND GOES INTO POWER REDUCED MODE. THE CAR NEVER TELLS ME TO GO REGEN THE DPF IT JUST FAILS WITHIN SECONDS OF A DASH MESSAGE POWER REDUCE AND HAVE TO GO TO THE DEALER. I HAVE SPOKEN TO SEVERAL OTHER OWNERS THAT SAY THE SAME THING. IT WOULD SEEM THE GM IS PURPOSELY LETTING THE REGEN OF THE DPF FAIL SO WE HAVE TO GO TO THE DEALER, WHICH IS BASICALLY PIRATING OUR POCKET BOOKS. WE NEED A FIX BADLY PLEASE!!

THE FAILURE RECURRED INTERMITTENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE RENTAL AGENCY WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 11,950. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE SPEEDOMETER IN THIS VEHICLE IS LOCATED IN A VERY DANGEROUS WAY. IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO SAFELY VIEW THE SPEEDOMETER WHILE THE CAR IS IN MOTION. AS A CONSEQUENCE, DRIVING THIS VEHICLE IS EQUIVALENT TO DRIVING A VEHICLE WHICH HAS NO SPEEDOMETER. THE SPEEDOMETER OF THIS VEHICLE IS LOCATED FAR TO THE RIGHT OF CENTER IN THE INSTRUMENT PANEL. THE TEMPERATURE AND FUEL GAGES ARE LOCATED IN THE CENTER. WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO SAFELY VIEW THE SPEEDOMETER. IT REQUIRES THE DRIVER TO 1) LOWER HIS VIEW FROM THE WINDSHIELD, 2) TRACK HIS VIEW TO THE RIGHT UNTIL THE SPEEDOMETER COMES INTO VIEW, 3) MOVE HIS HEAD AROUND BECAUSE THE SPEEDOMETER IS OBSTRUCTED BY THE UPPER RIGHT QUADRANT OF THE STEERING WHEEL. READING THIS SPEEDOMETER REQUIRES THE DRIVER TO LOOK AWAY FROM THE ROADWAY FOR A DANGEROUS INTERVAL OF TIME. EVEN WORSE, WHEN THE DRIVER LIFTS HIS GAZE BACK TO THE WINDSHIELD, HE NOT LOOKING AT THE CENTER OF HIS TRACK, BUT OVER THE VEHICLES RIGHT FRONT HEADLIGHT TOWARDS THE SHOULDER OF THE ROAD. THIS VEHICLE IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. I DROVE THIS VEHICLE AS A RENTAL CAR. I WAS ABLE TO PLACE A GPS ON THE VEHICLE WINDSHIELD AND USE THE SPEED INDICATION OF THE GPS IN PLACE OF THE UNUSABLE SPEEDOMETER. WITHOUT THE GPS SPEED INDICATION, IT WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS TO DRIVE THIS VEHICLE.
ON 7/1/15, I WAS MOVING FORWARD AT ABOUT 5 MPH, WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, LOOKING FOR A PARKING SPOT IN A PARKING LOT. THE ENGINE SPEED SUDDENLY INCREASED AND THEN RETURNED TO A NORMAL LEVEL AFTER A FEW SECONDS. A SIMILAR INCIDENT HAPPENED ON 8/8 WHILE I WAS MANEUVERING INTO A PARKING SPOT TO PARALLEL PARK. WITH MY FOOT ON THE BRAKE, THE ENGINE SPEED INCREASED FOR ABOUT 5 SECONDS. THE SPEED RETURNED TO NORMAL AFTER I PUT THE CAR IN PARK. THE CHEVY DEALER EXAMINED THE CAR ON 8/11, BUT COULDN'T DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THEY SAID THERE WERE NO CODES OR BULLETINS REGARDING THIS PROBLEM. THEREFORE, THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO FOR ME.
THIS COMPLAINT IS REGARDING 3 ISSUES SINCE MY VEHICLE PURCHASE MID APRIL OF THIS YEAR. THE VEHICLES MILEAGE AT PURCHASE WAS 7 MILES AND CURRENTLY HAS APPROX. 6100 MILES ON ODOMETER. THE 3 ISSUES ARE: #1) REGULARLY WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE AT APPROX. 45-50 MPH THERE IS A STEADY HUMMING NOISE COMING FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT ON THE DRIVERS SIDE THAT LAST ABOUT 30-45 SECONDS. #2) ALSO WHILE DRIVING MY VEHICLE IN TRAFFIC AND COASTING WITHOUT PRESSING GAS OR BRAKE GOING APPROX. 5-10MPH THE ENGINE WILL SHUTTER AND CAUSE THE CAR TO SHAKE. THE ENGINE FEELS LIKE ITS GOING TO STALL BUT I ALWAYS PRESS THE GAS PETAL SO IT CONTINUES DRIVING WITHOUT STALLING SINCE I'M ALWAYS ON THE FREEWAY WHEN IT OCCURS #3) INVOLVES THE SAME OR SIMILAR DRIVING ENVIRONMENT AS ISSUE #2. THIS ISSUE OCCURS WHILE COASTING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS UNLIKE ISSUE #2 WHERE THE CAUSE FEELS LIKE IT COULD BE THE ENGINE THIS IS MORE LIKE THE TRANSMISSION SLIPPING INTO DIFFERENT GEARS MOSTLY DOWNSHIFTING SINCE THE CAR SUDDENLY JERKS BACK AS THOUGH YOU SLAMMED ON YOUR BRAKES FOR A SECOND AND IT REGULARLY HAPPENS ONLY WHILE CAR IS COASTING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS WHICH I'M REGULARLY DOING SINCE I DRIVE DOWN THE CAJON PASS SITTING IN TRAFFIC EVERY DAY, WHILE COASTING IT HAPPENS ALMOST EVERY 90-120 SECONDS. ON 7/21 I CONTACTED MY DEALERSHIP AND RECEIVED A APPOINTMENT FOR 7/22 SINCE THESE ISSUES COULD CAUSE SOMETHING VERY SERIOUS TO HAPPEN TO MY WIFE OR MYSELF. THOUGH I HAVE NOT HAD MY CAR LOOKED AT BY MY DEALERSHIP YET, I STILL WANTED TO MAKE THIS REPORT TO INSURE THAT OTHER OWNERS ARE AWARE OF THE ISSUE I'M FACING, AND THIS HOPEFULLY GETS INVESTIGATED THOROUGHLY (BY A THIRD PARTY) BEFORE SOMEONE GETS SERIOUSLY INJURED IN A ACCIDENT.
MY WIFE WAS DRIVING THE NEW CRUZE THROUGH CLEVELAND OHIO ON MAY 19, 2015. WE WERE USING THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM BECAUSE WE WERE UNFAMILIAR WITH THE ROADS AND AREA. WHILE IN HEAVY TRAFFIC THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM STARTED TO TELL HER TO TURN LEFT AND RIGHT IN ERROR BECAUSE IT WAS SHOWING US ABOUT A HUNDRED FEET OFF THE HIGHWAY ON SMALL SERVICE ROADS. IT WAS INCORRECTLY TRYING TO ROUTE US BACK TO WHERE WE WERE ALREADY. THIS WAS CONFUSING FOR HER AND CAUSED HER TO SLOW DOWN IN TRAFFIC AND BECOME DISTRACTED CAUSING A SAFETY HAZARD AS SHE HAD TO IGNORE DIRECTIONS FROM THE SCREEN POPPING UP AND THE SPEAKER AND TRY TO FIGURE OUT WHERE TO GO. THIS PROBLEM HAS OCCURED SEVERAL TIMES WHEN USING THE NAVIGATION SYSTEM. WE TOOK THE CAR TO GM DEALERSHIP AND THEY GAVE US A DOCUMENT FROM GM #PIC6057A DATED APRIL 27, 2015. THIS SAYS THIS PROBLEM IS COMMON WITH 2015 BUICK ENCORE AND VERANO, 2015 CHEVY CAMARO, CRUZE, EQUINOX, MALIBU, SS AND VOLT AND FINALLY THE 2015 GMC TERRAIN WITH THE NAVI. IT SAYS THE NAVI CAN BE OFF BY 20-50 METERS. IT FINALLY SAYS THIS IS THE NORMAL OPERATING CHARACTERISTIC OF THE VEHICLE AND WILL NOT IMPACT PERFORMANCE. I BELIEVE THIS IS NOT NORMAL AND COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT WHEN DRIVERS ARE IN TRAFFIC AND LISTENING TO THE NAVI THAT IS CONFUSED BY READING THE WRONG LOCATION. THIS ERROR/PROBLEM SHOULD NOT BE CONSIDERED NORMAL OPERATING CONDITION AND ONLY SHARED WITH DEALERS FOR CUSTOMERS THAT COMPLAIN. THIS SHOULD BE SHARED WITH OWNERS AND THE AFFECTED VEHICLES SHOULD BE RECALLED FOR A FIX BEFORE THE PROBLEM CAUSES AN ACCIDENT OR INJURY.

DRIVING FROM SKI AREA IN LINE OF CARS AT 15MPH WHEN CARS AHEAD STARTED TO STOP. HAD "SNOWFLAKE" BUTTON PUSHED. CRUZE HAS COOLANT ODOR OUTSIDE CAR AND HAS LOSS OF COOLANT AT EVERY OIL CHANGE. DEALER DOES NOT WRITE THIS DOWN ON SERVICE RECORDS. THIS IS SIMILAR PROBLEM AS 2012 CRUZE ECO I HAD TO TRADE IN BECAUSE GM/DEALER COULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM OF ANTIFREEZE LOSS. UNDER SOME CONDITIONS COOLANT TEMPERATURE GETS UP TO 236 DEG F BEFORE RADIATOR FAN COMES ON AND THIS GETS WORSE IN WINTER. THIS HIGH TEMPERATURE SEEMS TO ALIGN WITH PROBLEM BUT THE ANALOG GAUGE STOPS AT ABOUT 3/8 AND WILL NOT GO FURTHER EVEN WHEN DIGITAL TEMPERATURE REGISTERS 190DEG F OR 240 DEG F. ( THEY SAID GAUGE IS DESIGNED THIS WAY) GM AND DEALER SAY SYSTEM IS WORKING AS DESIGNED BUT HAVEN'T EXPLAINED FAN OPERATION OR WHY TEMPERATURE GETS TO 236 DEG F WHEN NORMAL TEMPERATURE IS 221 DEG F. THEY CANNOT EXPLAIN ODOR OR LOSS OF COOLANT. THIS COULD BE PROBLEM IN ANY CHEVY CRUZE ECO AND IF DRIVER DOES NOT WATCH COOLANT LEVEL THE CAR COULD OVERHEAT.
AROUND NOVEMBER 29, 2014 I WAS DRIVING THE 2015 CHEVY CRUZ WHILE OUT OF TOWN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY GOING AROUND 55 MILES I WAS PULLED OVER BY A POLICE REPORTING THAT I WAS DRIVING 75 MILES, BUT WHEN I SLIGHTLY HIT MY BRAKES TO SLOW DOWN THE CAR DIDN'T CHANGE ITS SPEED. BASED ON THE POLICE'S REPORT OF THE SPEED HE REPORTED ME GOING THE ODOMETER READING IS WRONG OR SET TOO HIGH IN THIS VEHICLE AND WILL CAUSE ACCIDENTS IF NOT FIXED. IT APPEARS THAT THE DIGITAL ODOMETER IS WRONG IN THIS MODEL AND NEEDS TO BE FIXED TO INCLUDE THE BREAKS STALLING, AND ODOMETER READING REPORTING THE WRONG SPEED, PLEASE SEND ME REPORT VIA EMAIL. *TR
