EXCESSIVE OIL CONSUMPTION, WENT TO THE DEALERSHIP AFTER SPEAKING WITH A CHEVY OWNER WHO HAD THE SAME ISSUE AND HAD HIS ENGINE COMPLETELY REBUILD BY GM. I WAS OVER THE 100,000 MILE POWER TRAIN WARRANTY BY 1000 MILES BY THE TIME I LEARNED OF THE ISSUE. I SPECIFICALLY TOLD THE LADY AT THE DEALERSHIP THAT I WAS OVER 100K MILES AND SHE SAID IT WOULDN'T BE A PROBLEM. THE GM DEALERSHIP SAID THEY COULDN'T HELP ME WITH OIL CONSUMPTION MONITORING TEST AND THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ONCE I GOT THERE.THE 2012 EQUINOX JUST RECEIVED AN EXTENDED WARRANTY FOR 7.5 YEARS OR 120K TO HAVE THE CONSUMPTION TEST AND ENGINE REPAIRS DONE. I NOW HAVE 119K ON MY VEHICLE AND HAVE HAD THE ISSUE WITH THE ENGINE AND OIL CONSUMPTION SINCE AROUND 80K. GM PUT A BAD ENGINE IN THIS VEHICLE AND THEY KNOW IT BUT WILL DO NOTHING TO FIX IT. I HAVE OWNED CHEVY'S FOR OVER 15 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANY SIGNIFICANT PROBLEMS. GM NEEDS TO DO RIGHT BY THEIR LOYAL CUSTOMERS. IF THE ENGINE IS BAD RECALL IT BECAUSE I KNOW SEVERAL OWNERS IN THE SAME POSITION AS ME AND WE ARE LOOKING TO TAKE OUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE IN THE FUTURE. I HAVE ALWAYS BEEN A CHEVY "AMERICAN" MAN BUT YOU HAVE BEEN PRODUCING A CHEAP PRODUCT AND INCREASING THE COST. FIX YOUR MISTAKE AND TAKE OWNERSHIP OF THE PROBLEM AND YOU WILL RETAIN YOUR CUSTOMERS OR GOUGE HARDWORKING PEOPLE OVER AN ISSUE YOU KNOW IS YOUR FAULT AND LOSE THEM.
STARTED BURNING OIL TOO QUICKLY WHICH RUINED THE ENGINE. WE WERE USING THE UPPER GRADE OIL AND HAVING TO CHANGE IT BEFORE 3000 MILES DUE TO CAR SHAKING. WE HAD TO GET A NEW ENGINE . CAR COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN IN MOTION ON A COUNTRY ROAD
"TAMARA RECALL" I'M WRITING REGUARDING AN ACCIDENT THAT TOTALED OUT MY VEHICLE BUT NONE OF MY AIR BAGS DEPLOYED ? I HIT A DEER AT 75-80 MPH ON A HWY IT HIT MY DRIVERS SIDE HEADLIGHT AND CONTINUED UP OVER MY HOOD AND ACTUALLY DENTED PART OF MY PASSENGER SIDE FENDER I COULDN'T EVEN OPEN THE DOOR ALL THE WAY! NONE OF MY AIR BAGS WENT OFF. LUCKILY I HAD MY SEAT BELT ON WHICH SOMETHING IN THE SEAT BELT BLEW WHEN IT LOCKED ME IN PLACE DUE TO THE IMPACT OF THE DEER HITTING JUMPING OUT AT ME A WARNING POPPED UP ON MY DASH BELIEVE SAID "LOCKED" BUT ALL HAPPENED SO FAST , IT PUSHED & CRACKED JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING UNDER MY HOOD. I HAD SMOKE COMING FROM MY VEHICLE, FLUIDS ON THE GROUND NO FIRE THANKFULLY ! MY SUV WAS TOTALED AND MANY HAVE QUESTIONED ME ABOUT THE AIR BAGS. I'M NOW WONDERING THE SAME THING. WHY IN THE WORLD DID NONE OF THESE GO OFF ? IF I WOULDN'T HAVE HAD MY SEAT BELT ON WHO KNOWS WHAT WOULD HAVE HAPPENED WITH THE AIR BAGS NOT GOING OFF ! I'VE DONE RESEARCH I HAVEN'T SEEN ANY RECALLS, BUT I AM A LITTLE CONFUSED BY THIS!
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM INDEPENDENTLY APPLIED, BUT THERE WAS NO VEHICLE OR OBJECT IN THE PATH OF THE SENSOR. THE COLLISION WARNING INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND THE TIRE PRESSURE WARNING INDICATOR DID NOT DISPLAY THE CORRECT TIRE INFORMATION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO MCHUGH CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP RAM (3420 MAPLE AVE, ZANESVILLE, OH), BUT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE DIAGNOSED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.

WINDSHIELD WIPERS POPS OFF AND STOPS WORKING. ENGINE RUNS WHILE KEY IS NOT INSERTED

THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PART WAS NOT AVAILABLE, BUT THE CONTACT CALLED BACK AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE PART WAS AVAILABLE. THE DEALER SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR MAY 3, 2017, BUT THEN STATED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT WAS UNCERTAIN OF WHEN THE MANUFACTURER WOULD SUPPLY THE PARTS TO THE DEALER. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE OPERATING THE VEHICLE WITH THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS ON HIGH, THE WIPERS SUDDENLY STOPPED WORKING. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THE BALL JOINTS IN THE WIPER MODULE WERE FAULTY. THE WIPERS WERE READJUSTED AND THE DRIVER WAS INSTRUCTED THAT THE FAILURE COULD RECUR WHEN USING THE WIPERS ON THE HIGH SPEED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 30,000.
ENGINE STALLS AT LOW RPM. OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS AT RANDOM TIMES FROM REVERSE / BACKING UP THE ENGINE WOULD STALL. THE ENGINE HAS STALLED AT RED LIGHTS WHEN STAKING OFF AT LOW RPMS, CAUSING PEOPLE BEHIND ME TO STOP SUDDENLY WHILE I HAVE TO PUT THE CAR IN PARK AND START THE ENGINE.

WIPERS BECAME INOPERATIVE WHILE DRIVING IN A RAIN STORM. TOOK THE VEHICLE TO PHILLIPS CHEVROLET WHO ADVISED THE PROBLEM WAS THE WIPER TRANSMISSION WHEREBY ONE OF THE ARMS BROKE OFF AND CAUSED THE ASSEMBLY TO STOP WORKING. THE CHARGE WAS $420.02 TO REPLACE THE WIPER ASSEMBLY. THE DEALER ADVISED THE MOTOR FOR THE WIPER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED WHENEVER THE TRANSMISSION GETS REPLACED. AFTERWARD, I RECEIVED NOTICE FROM A FELLOW EQUINOX OWNER WHO ADVISED THE WIPER PROBLEM IS WELL KNOWN, AND THE ISSUE IS UNDER A RECALL UNDER GENERAL MOTORS #25302. IF IT IS A RECALL, WHY THEN WAS I CHARGED $420 BY THE CHEVROLET DEALER???
I JUST RECENTLY REPLACED MY ENGINE THAT BLEW UP. I WAS DRIVING HOME FROM A DOCTORS. APPT WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN MY SUV WENT FROM DRIVING THE SPEED LIMIT TO BARELY MOVING. I HAD TO TURN IT ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES TO BE ABLE TO PARK IT IN A SAFE PLACE.I HAD IT TOWED TO A LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND WAS TOLD MY TRANSMISSION DIED. SO IN LESS THAN TWO MONTHS I HAVE HAD TO REPLACE BOTH MY ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION ONCE I HIT 100,000 MILES. THE VEHICLE RECEIVED ROUTINE MAINTENANCE AND THERE IS NO REASON FOR BOTH TO COMPLETELY DIE BACK TO BACK.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2013 CHEVROLET EQUINOX. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, A RATTLING NOISE COULD BE HEARD COMING FROM THE ENGINE. THERE WERE NO WARNING INDICATORS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED WITH A CLOG POSITIVE CRANK CASE VENTILATION AND THE OIL SEALS, MANIFOLD, AND PCV VALVE NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 100,000.
THERE IS A TSB 15285C WHICH COVERS THE 4 CYLINDER FOR OIL CONSUMPTION. NINE IS THE V6 3.6. THIS GOES THROUGH 1 QUART EVERY 350 MILES. I'VE BEEN TO 2 DEALERS AND WAS TOLD MINE IS NOT COVERED. I CANNOT AFFORD THIS REPAIR. WHAT CAN BE DONE? I BOUGHT USED FROM SPITZER CHEVY IN NORTH CANTON OHIO. I THINK THAT THEY KNEW OF THIS AND I ASKED IF THERE WERE ANY PROBLEMS AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE WERE NONE.
DURING TRAFFIC IN A 25 MPH ZONE, I LIGHTLY PRESSED THE GAS PEDAL, AND MY CAR ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. RPM'S JUMPED SIGNIFICANTLY. I HAVE TAKEN MY CAR TO A DEALERSHIP AND REPORTED SMELLING FUEL IN MY OIL. THEY REPLACED THE HI PRESSURE FUEL PUMP, BUT THE FUEL IS STILL GETTING INTO MY OIL.
PASSENGER FRONT AIRBAG MAP SENSOR WITH FOAM, WIRING HARNESS AND PROGRAMMING HAD TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF 688.49 ON FEB 8 2017. SEAT BELT SENSOR KEPT GOING OFF.
OIL CONSUMPTION. CAR IS BURNING MORE OIL THAN IS "RECOMMENDED". WENT TO GET AN OIL CHANGE AND THERE WAS NO OIL IN MY CAR. THERE IS NO LEAK.

NOTHING BAD HAS HAPPENED YET. THIS "RECALL" HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR MONTHS. I FIND IT DIFFICULT TO BELIEVE THAT CHEVY CANNOT COME UP WITH A REMEDY. I WOULD GUESS ONE IS AVAILABLE BUT IT PROBABLY WOULD COST THEM TOO MUCH. CONCERN: IF THE WIPERS STOP WORKING DURING A SEVERE STORM I'M REALLY IN TROUBLE. WHY DOES THIS TAKE SO LONG???
THESE VEHICLES HAVE A PROBLEM WITH TRANSMISSIONS. THEY SEEM TO LURCH FORWARD WHEN DOWN SHIFTING. HAVE BROUGHT IT TO SEVERAL DEALERS,THEY SAY THIS IS NORMAL REALLY. THIS IS NOT SAFE. CALLED GM THEY ARE NO HELP!!
THERE IS A RECALL ON MY VEHICLE FOR WINDSHIELD WIPERS. MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS BECAME INOPERABLE ON 1/7/17 IN THE MIDDLE OF A SNOW STORM. MY LOCAL DEALER GORDON CHEVROLET AND CHEVROLET CUSTOMER SERVICE ARE TELLING ME THAT THERE IS NOT A CURRENT FIX AVAILABLE. IN THE MEANTIME, I DO NOT HAVE WINDSHIELD WIPERS. I REQUESTED TO BE PROVIDED A LOANER VEHICLE FROM THE DEALER UNTIL THE FIX IS IN PLACE AND WAS DENIED. I AM CURRENTLY WITHOUT WIPERS AND HAVE NO WHERE TO TURN.

2.4L ECO TECH ENGINES HAVE A DESIGN FLAW WHICH IS DESCRIBED IN SERVICE BULLETIN NO.: 14882 AND APPARENTLY THIS BULLETIN WAS ONLY SENT TO SOME OWNERS BUT NOT ALL OWNERS AND THE ISSUE IS THE PCV ORFICE GETS PLUGGED WITH ICE IN THE WINTER CAUSING PRESSURE TO BUILD IN THE ENGINE WHICH IN TURN CAUSES THE REAR MAIN SEAL TO FAIL ON THE ENGINE. EVEN THOUGH MY EQUINOX HAD THIS 2.4L ECOTECH ENGINE AND I DID ALL THE REQUIRED MAINTENANCE AS REQUIRED GM FAILED TO SEND ME THIS NOTICE (WHICH THEY TOLD ME THAT DID NOT SEND IT TO ME SINCE I DID NOT HAVE AN ECO TECH WHICH I DID) BUT THEY ALSO EXTENDED THE WARRANTY TO FIX IT UNTIL 10 YEARS OR 120,000 MILES AND MINE FAILED AT 4 YEARS AND 125,000 SO OF COURSE THEY HAVE REFUSED TO FIX OR REIMBURSE ME FOR MY OUT OF POCKET COSTS FOR SOMETHING THAT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD ABOUT IT. ALSO MY TRUCK JUST LOST POWER AS I WAS DRIVING AND THIS COULD HAVE CAUSE A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE IF I HAD BEEN ON A BUSY FREEWAY AT THE TIME. I WAS DRIVING ON A COUNTY ROAD AT THE TIME JUST BEFORE ENTERING A FREEWAY WHEN THIS FAILURE HAPPENED. IF I WOULD HAVE BEEN SENT THE SERVICE BULLETIN I COULD HAVE PREVENTED A TOTAL ENGINE FAILURE BY HAVING THE ISSUE LOOKED AT AND DEALT WITH PRIOR TO THIS INCIDENT .

BURNS THROUGH OIL! I AM CONSTANTLY HAVING TO KEEP AN EYE ON THE OIL LEVEL WAY BEFORE IT IS DUE FOR AN OIL CHANGE. ALSO, DIES IF YOU ARE SLOWLY TAKING OFF. WHEN TOWING WITH RV THE FRONT WHEELS START A SEVERE WOBBLE WHICH SHAKES THE REAR OF THE RV. THIS HAS OCCURRED SEVERAL TIMES; SEVERAL AT HWY SPEED AFTER GOING OVER A BUMP IN THE HWY. THE ONLY WAY TO STOP THE WOBBLE IS TO STOP THE VEHICLE; THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS WHEN IN TRAFFIC AT HWY SPEED. I HAD INITIALLY THOUGHT IT WAS THE NEW BLUE OX TOW BAR BUT I CHECKED THAT WITH THE MANUFACTURER; THEY INDICATED THE PROBLEM WAS A GM PROBLEM WITH THE ELECTRIC ASSIST STEERING. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES IN THE PAST 4 MONTHS AND AT VARIOUS SPEEDS FROM 10 MPH TO 50 MPH. FIRST INCIDENT WAS IN SEPTEMBER, 2016

WHEN I TURNED ON MY VEHICLE TODAY, NONE OF THE CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEM BUTTONS WERE OPERATIONAL. NOT ABLE TO TURN ON DEFROSTER, REAR WINDOW DEFOGGER OR ADJUST CLIMATE CONTROLS. LIVE IN MINNESOTA SO CLIMATE CONTROL IS VERY IMPORTANT DURING THE WINTER.

I HAD 100,000 MILES ON MY CHEVY EQUINOX AND IN DECEMBER WITH OUT WARNING THE ENGINE BLEW UP. I HAD RECENTLY HAD A OIL CHANGE BUT WAS TOLD THE ENGINE BARELY HAD ANY OIL.
