TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2000 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE FAILED TO START. THE CONTACT SHIFTED THE VEHICLE INTO NEUTRAL, TURN THE SWITCH TO THE OFF POSITION THEN BACK TO THE ON POSITION AND THE VEHICLE STARTED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 45 OR 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE LOSS MOTIVE POWER AND STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SEVERAL ATTEMPTS WERE NEEDED TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WOULD LOSS POWER BEFORE SHE COULD SHIFT OUT OF PARK INTO REVERSE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT SHE HAD RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 14V400000 (ELECTRICAL SYSTEM) AND HAD THE VEHICLE TAKEN TO WEST CHEVROLET, INC., (3450 AIRPORT HWY, ALCOA, TN 37701) WHERE THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED UNDER RECALL. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE IGNITION SWITCH WAS NOT REPAIRED UNDER THE RECALL CAMPAIGN. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER. THE CONTACT CALLED THE SAME DEALER AND INFORMED THEM OF THE FAILURE AND WAS ADVISED TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 104,000.
I WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW ABOUT AN EXPERIENCE AT DISCOUNT TIRE 580 W TELEGRAPH WASHINGTON UTAH. AND YOU CAN FORWARD THIS TO ANY REGULATING AGENCY.FROM MY KNOWLEDGE, WHEN TWO TIRES ARE PURCHASED NEW, IT IS REQUIRED TO MOUNT THEM ON THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE IF IT IS FRONT WHEEL DRIVE. AND MOVE THE LOWER TREAD TIRES TO THE BACK.WHILE AT THIS LOCATION, THE PERSON RUNNING THE SHOP STATED THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO TOUCH TIRES OR ROTATE THEM IF THEY HAVE LOW TREAD.AND THEY MOUNTED THE TWO NEW ONES ON OPPOSITE CORNERS (FRONT DRIVER AND REAR PASSENGER). AND TRIED TO SELL 2 ADDITIONAL TIRES.THIS IS AGAINST THE LAW. I WANT THIS BUSINESS REVIEWED FOR THEIR LICENSE. *TR
I'VE REPLACED BATTERY, HEAD GASKETS, OVERFLOW TANK, AIR SYSTEM CONNECTORS, WATER PUMP, PCV VALVE, EVAP CANISTER, SPARK PLUGS, SPARK PLUG WIRES, RADIATOR, CAMSHAFT SENSOR, COOLANT TEMP SENSOR, BUT MY CAR IS STILL LEAKING COOLANT FROM UNDERNEATH LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD AND ISN'T TRYING TO START. I'VE SPENT OVER $2000 AND STILL HAVEN'T SEEN RESULTS OR GOT IT TO FULLY FUNCTION. LEAKING FUEL UNDER CAR BETWEEN DRIVER SIDE DOORS. JUST NOT SURE IF PART OF FUEL SYSTEM RECALL THAT HAS BEEN ON OTHER MALIBU
MY CAR SHUTS OFF WHILE I'M DRIVING IT, WHEN I TRY TO TURN IT ON IT WON'T TURN ON. I COULD SMELL GAS BUT IT WON'T TURN ON. IT'S A HAZARD WHEN I'M ON THE HIGHWAY AND IT JUST CUT OFF ON ME AND I'M STUCK IN THE MIDDLE LANE WITH INCOMING TRAFFIC. I TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND COULD NOT FIND ANY ISSUES WITH ANY OTHER PARTS OF THE VEHICLE MY FUEL PUMP IS IN GREAT CONDITION MY TUNE UPS ARE UP TO DATE I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS THE ANTI-THEFT AFFILIATED WITH MY KEY IGNITION PLEASE ADVISE.
"TAKATA RECALL" I CURRENTLY OWN THIS VEHICLE AND I'M NOT ABLE TO USE THE BLINKERS OR EMERGENCY LIGHTS WHEN YOU TURN THEM ON ALL YOU HEAR IS A LOUD ALARM SOUNDING NOSIE. THEY DO NOT COME ON WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I KNOW THEY WORK SOME TIMES BUT IT'S VERY FEW AND IN BETWEEN . I SEEN THERE HAS BEEN RECALLS IN THE PAST FOR THIS ON THIS CAR BUT THE ELDERLY LADY WASN'T AWARE OF THEM . IS THERE ANYTHING I CAN DO UNDER THE RECALL TO GET THIS FIXED. I HAD A MECHANIC LOOK AT IT AND THERE NOT SURE HOW TO FIX IT.
HAS ISSUES THAT ARE RECALLED ON OTHER 2000 MALIBU'S. BLINKERS STOPPED WORKING ON & OFF ONE DAY. THEN STOPPED TOTALLY NEXT DAY, CHANGED FUSE NOTHING HELPED. DOESN'T EVEN SHOW ON INSTRUMENT PANEL. CAR REFUSES TO START AT TIMES, TAKES ANY WHERE FROM 3-5 TRIES TO START. ALSO HAD RECALL DONE ON IGNITION, DIDN'T HELP, I REPLACED WHOLE IGNITION SWITCH AFTER THE DEALER 'FIXED' IT. BATTERY KEPTED ON DRAINING BEFORE THAT.

THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE VEHICLE'S KEY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THAT IT WAS NOT THE IGNITION THAT NEEDED TO BE REPAIRED. *JS

AS DRIVING ALONG THE HIGHWAY THE CAR COMPLETELY SHUT OFF AND WOULD NOT START UP AGAIN AND HAS NOT STARTED UP SINCE. THE CAR WAS IN MOTION, I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY, TRAVELING ON I-10 HIGHWAY.

SUBFRAME RUSTING AWAY ON THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT. CAN'T REPLACE DUE TO THEY DISCONTINUED MAKING THE PART. EVEN IF THE PART WAS FOUND IT WOULD COAST ABOUT $900.00 THEN THE TIRODS WOULD NEED REPLACING. IN ALL AFTER NEW TIRES AND ALL IT WOULD COAST $2000.00 TO FIX.

RACK AND PINION MOUNT BRACKET RUSTED OUT
FRONT TO REAR BRAKE LINES ARE HEAVILY CORRODED AND ERODED AND STARTED LEAKING. THE RESERVOIR DESIGN ALLOWED ALL THE BRAKE FLUID TO DRAIN OUT LEAVING NONE AVAILABLE TO SAFELY BRAKE THE CAR WITH AIR BEING INTRODUCED INTO THE WHOLE SYSTEM. ALL THAT WAS LEFT WAS THE PARKING BRAKE WHICH IS A PRESS ON AND PRESS OFF TO RELEASE STYLE. FORTUNATELY THE CAR WAS CLOSE TO HOME AND THERE WAS NO DAMAGE TO PERSONS OR PROPERTY.
WHEN MAKING A TURN MY STEERING WHEEL LOCKED UP AND COULD NOT CONTROL MY CAR I HAD TOWED TO A MECHANIC THAT TOLD ME THAT THE SUBFRAME TO RACK BRACKET WAS RUSTED OUT AND THAT THE SUBFRAME AND THE RACK NEEDED TO BE REPLACED AND THE REPAIR COST WILL START AT ABOUT $2000.

CHEVY ISSUED A RECALL (14350) WHICH STATES THEY WILL REPAIR MY IGNITION KEYS. THEY ALSO HAVE A RECALL FOR OTHER CHEVY VEHICLES THAT NOT ONLY REPAIR THE KEYS, BUT REPLACE THE IGNITION SWITCH AND KEY CYLINDER. MY CYLINDER AND SWITCH ARE DAMAGED, SO FAR I HAVE GONE THROUGH AN ALTERNATOR AND BATTERY TRYING TO ISOLATE TH PROBLEM WHICH SHOWS ON THE SCANNER AS BEING THE CYLINDER AND THE SWITCH. CHEVY WILL NOT REPLACE THESE ITEMS, EVEN THO THEY ARE CAUSED BY THE UNINTENDED MOTION ISSUE.
I BOUGH THE 2000 CHEVY MALIBU USED IN AUGUST 2014 SINCE THEN I HAVE BEEN SEEING THE SAME THING I HAD HAPPENING WITH THE 2003 SATURN VUE I BOUGHT IN 2012 PRE OWNED , THE KEY IN THE IGNITION COMES OUT AND DOES NOT TURN OFF THE CAR . THE KEY COMES OUT WHILE THE SWITCH AND CAR IS STILL RUNNING THE KEY ALSO DOES NOT TURN OVER AS IT STICKS INSIDE OF THE IGNITION SWITCH AND I HAVE A HARD TIME GETTING CAR STARTED ALSO . THIS IS VERY DANGEROUS AND NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED I ALREADY HAD THE SATURN VUE REPAIRED SINCE IT WAS RECALLED THIS CAR NEEDS TO BE REPAIRED AS WELL. PLEASE ISSUE A NATIONAL RECALL ON THE 2000 CHEVY MALIBU CARS TO GET FIXED ASAP. I WOULD LIKE TO GET THE CAR FIXED ASAP THIS IS NOT SAFE AND ALSO IT IS GETTING HARDER TO TURN THE CAR ON AND THE KEY IS FALLING OUT A TIMES ALSO WHILE THE CAR IS BEING DRIVEN SINCE THE SWITCH IS STICKING . I WOULD LIKE TO ADD THAT WHEN I HAD TWO PREVIOUS SATURN'S A TURQUOISE COUPE AND SL2, IT HAPPENED TWICE AND THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I ACCIDENTALLY TOOK ANOTHER PERSONS CAR IN THE PARKING LOT OF A MOVIE THEATER SINCE THE KEYS TO THE SATURN'S OPEN THE DOORS OF CARS LIKE THE SAME CAR I REALIZED IT WAS NOT MY CAR AND IMMEDIATE TOOK IT BACK AND GOT MINE THANK GOD THE MOVIE WAS STILL GOING OR I COULD HAVE BEEN ACCUSED OF STEALING THE CAR THIS IS ANOTHER MANUFACTURE DEFECT AND DANGEROUS TO PEOPLE SHOULD THEY EVER FIGURE OUT THAT THE KEYS ALL WORK ON THE SAME MAKE AND MODELS . I ALSO LOCKED MY KEYS IN MY CAR AND ASKED ON MAN TO OPEN MY DOOR WITH HIS KEY I WAS FOOD SHOPPING AT THE TIME HE HAD THE SAME SATURN COUPE AS MY TURQUOISE SATURN AND IT WORKED HE STOOD THERE IN DISBELIEF I TOLD HIM I KNEW THIS SINCE IT HAPPENED ONCE IN A MOVIE THEATER PARKING LOT. THIS NEEDS TO BE DEALT WITH ASAP I WROTE IN ONCE AND NEVER HEARD BACK ABOUT IT.

HOWEVER, IT WOULD NOT TURN IN THE IGNITION. THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT GRIND THE KEY AGAIN. HOWEVER, IT ONLY WORKED ONE WAY. THE NEW KEY MUST BE FORCED AND IT ONLY FIT THE DOORS AND TRUNK ONE WAY. *JB

TWO WEEKS, THE DEALER CALLED HER AND SHE RETURNED TO THE DEALER. SHE WAS INFORMED THEY COULD NOT RETROFIT HER CURRENT KEYS TO THE VEHICLE. SHE WAS INFORMED SHE WOULD HAVE TO BUY A FACTORY MADE KEY AT $15.00 EACH PLUS TAX, TO ALLOW THEM TO DO THE RECALL.
