I BOUGHT THE CAR LAST APRIL 2016. SHORTLY AFTER MY CRUISE CONTROL WAS HARD TO TURN ON, HAD TO KEEP HITTING THE BUTTON. SO THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS THE SWITCH AND REPLACED IT FREE OF CHARGE. NOW IT'S AUG 2017 AND THE CRUISE CONTROL SOMETIMES TURNS ON AND WHEN IT DOES IT ONLY STAYS ON MAYBE 10 MIN OR LESS AND THEN KILLS ON ITS OWN! THE SPEED DROPS QUICKLY AND THIS IS UNEXPECTED AND CAN BE DANGEROUS. THIS HAPPENED WHILE I WAS DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. I SPECIFICALLY BOUGHT A CAR WITH CRUISE CONTROL, I LOVE IT, NEED IT AND USE IT REGULARY.
IMMEDIATELY AFTER PURCHASING MY 2004 CHEVY MALIBU (USED FROM A DEALER) I NOTICED THE CRUISE CONTROL WOULDN'T ENGAGE MOST OF THE TIME. THE LIGHT ON THE BUTTON TURNS ON (YELLOW), BUT THE CRUISE CONTROL DOESN'T SET OR ENGAGE. NOW IT RARELY WORKS.
The Grumman LLV was hit by the driver of the Chevy Malibu. The Grumman LLV had seatbelt issues with impact. The LLV was forced over on two wheels with left side impact from the driver of Chevy Malibu. [XXX] was the driver of the USPS Grumman LLV at the time of accident sustaining neck injuries requiring medical attention. Multiple medical procedures paid out of pocket followed to include surgeries The driver of Chevy Malibu was injured and received coverage by State Farm insurance. BRAKE LIGHTS FLASHED INTERMITTENTLY WHEN I WAS NOT BRAKING. I WAS STOPPED AND INFORMED OF THIS BY AT STATE TROOPER. "CHECK ENGINE" LIGHT WAS ON. THE CRUISE CONTROL HAS DISENGAGED INVOLUNTARILY SINCE 2005. I HAD A NEW BRAKE PEDAL POSITION SENSOR INSTALLED, BUT THE CRUISE CONTROL STILL DISENGAGES AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON DURING TRIPS OF MORE THAN 10 MILES. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH, THE VEHICLE ACCELERATED ON ITS OWN. THE CONTACT HAD TO IMMEDIATELY APPLY THE BRAKES TO STOP THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR A DIAGNOSIS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 122,000.
UPON DRIVING THE VEHICLE IT MADE 3 RINGING NOISES AND THEN ON THE DASHBOARD IT SAID ENG PWR REDUCED. THE CAR THEN WENT FROM 60 TO ABOUT 30 MPH INSTANTLY, I PUSHED MY FOOT ENTIRELY TO THE FLOOR AN THE CAR STILL WOULDN'T SPEED UP. IT HAS HAPPENED NUMEROUS TIMES AT LEAST 40 IN THE PAST FEW YEARS. NO DEALER CAN PIN POINT WHAT IT IS THAT'S WRONG. SHUT THE CAR OFF AND START IT UP AND ITS FINE AGAIN. OTHER THAN THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STILL ON.
WHEN I START MY CAR, I CAN HEAR SOME CLICK NOISE FROM TRANSMISSION OR BRAKE CONTROL. I HAD NOT BEEN AWARE OF THAT COULD LEAD TO SERVER ACCIDENT AFTERWARDS, BECAUSE THE CAR IS PRETTY NEW AND I KEEP IT IN MAINTENANCE PERIODICALLY. ON NOVEMBER 13, 2010, I DROVE AT 40-50MPH, ALONG HWY 128 TO MENDOCINO. IT RAN OUT OF CONTROL, RUSH A SMALL MOUND OF ROAD SIDE, ROLLED OVER ON THE ROAD. I WAS TRAPPED IN THE CAR, ALL FROND WINDSHIELD WAS BROKEN. I ESCAPED SAFELY. I DOUBT THE CONTROL HAS SOME PROBLEM, LEAD THE CAR IMBALANCE. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET MALIBU. WHILE TRAVELING 70 MPH THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT ALL OF THE WARNING LIGHTS HAD APPEARED ON DASHBOARD AND THAT THE VEHICLE BEGAN TO DECREASE IN SPEED. THE CONTACT SHUT OFF THE VEHICLE, RESTARTED IT AND NOTICED THAT THE FAILURE HAD CORRECTED ITSELF. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE COULD NOT BE REPRODUCED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 43000.

MY DAUGHTER'S 2004 CHEVROLET MALIBU ACCELERATES AT DIFFERENT TIMES WHILE DRIVING. (THE CRUISE CONTROL IS NOT ENGAGED!). MOST TIMES IT HAS BEEN SITTING IN A HOT PARKING LOT AND IT HAPPENS WHILE DRIVING NORMALLY (35 - 50 MPH). SHE HAS HAD TO PULL OFF TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, PUT BOTH FEET ON THE BRAKE, PUT IT IN PARK - IT STILL ACCELERATES. SHE HAD HER CAR TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIDN'T FIND ANYTHING. IT OCCURED AGAIN A FEW MORE TIMES SINCE THEN. IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON JULY 30 WHILE DRIVING HOME FROM WORK. SHE IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALERSHIP, HAD IT TOWED THERE, AND ALSO CONTACTED GM. THEY DID NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG AGAIN AND MADE HER FEEL LIKE SHE WAS IGNORANT. THE SERVICE MANAGER HAD A BLACK BOX INSTALLED, WHERE IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN, SHE CAN PUSH THE BUTTON AND IT WILL RECORD THE INSTANCES. SHE HAS HAD PEOPLE RIDING WITH HER WHEN IT HAPPENS AND THEY ALSO WILL ATTEST TO THAT THE INCIDENT OCCURRED. SHE IS AFRAID TO CONTINUE DRIVING HER CAR AND WE DON'T WANT HER TO EXPERIENCE OR CAUSE AN ACCIDENT. SHE MAY NOT BE AS LUCKY THIS TIME EVEN THOUGH SHE HAS THE"BLACK BOX" TO RECORD THE INCIDENT.
