WE HAVE A 2010 MALIBU LTZ. ONE OF THE TIRES KEPT GOING FLAT. TOOK THE CAR INTO THE TIRE SHOP AND THE WORKER FOUND A CRACK IN THE RIM THAT COULD NOT BE FIXED. THE ENTIRE RIM HAD TO BE REPLACED AT A COST OF $200. THIS SEEMS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM WITH THESE RIMS. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE VEHICLE DECELERATED AND LOST POWER INDEPENDENTLY. THE ESC AND CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHTS WERE ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE FUEL INJECTORS WOULD HAVE TO BE CLEANED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER, THE FAILURE CONTINUED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT FURTHER SERVICED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 77,000. *TR
I'VE HAD MY CAR IN THE WARRANTY REPAIR SHOP 2 TIMES IN 2012 FOR THE ESC LIGHT COMING ON, USED TO COME ON EVERY FEW WEEKS...AS OF DATE TODAY, IT COMES ON EVERY TIME YOU TURN THE CAR ON. FIRST OCCURRENCE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND MY WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON FOR ESC OFF, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE ESC AT 20 MPH. THEY'VE REPLACED 3 PARTS ON MY CAR AND TODAY THE SAME LIGHTS SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL AND SERVICE ESC HAVE COME ON ONCE AGAIN. IT VARIES (SPEED DOESN'T MATTER) WHETHER OR NOT GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY OR STOPPING IN A DRIVEWAY WHEN IT COMES ON BUT WARNING LIGHTS WILL COME ON WHEN YOU TOUCH THE BRAKES. I ALSO OBSERVED THAT THE BRAKE LIGHTS STAY ON WHILE GOING DOWN THE ROAD (WHEN ITS DARK OUTSIDE) BUT WHEN YOU APPLY THE BRAKES THE BRAKE LIGHTS GO OFF. I FEEL THIS COULD BE DANGEROUS IF SOMEONE IS FOLLOWING BEHIND YOU AND THINKS THAT YOU HAVE LET OFF THE BRAKES BUT YOU ARE ACTUALLY SLOWING DOWN. I DON'T THINK THAT THEY HAVE AN APPARENT FIX FOR THIS ISSUE AS I SEE SEVERAL REPORTS FROM VEHICLES RANGING FROM 2008 TO 2012 ONLINE COMPLAINING ABOUT THIS SAME ISSUE. I AM TO TAKE MY CAR BACK AGAIN FOR SERVICE NEXT WEEK TO HOPEFULLY GET IT REPAIRED BUT I AM NOT SO SURE THEY ARE GOING TO FIND THE PROBLEM AFTER ALREADY HAVING IT IN THERE SO MANY TIMES FOR THE SAME ISSUE. IT IS INTERMITTENT. I AM SICK TO MY STOMACH DEALING WITH SOMETHING THAT FEELS AS IF IS NEVER GOING TO BE FIXED. ITS A HUGE HAZARD DRIVING IN THE CITY AND YOUR BRAKE LIGHTS ARE COMPLETELY BACKWARDS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THIS IS THE SECOND ONE TO BE REPLACE. I THOUGHT THE FIRST ONE I REPLACED WAS AN ISOLATED CASE. I WAS ON MY WAY BACK FROM A FUNERAL AND STOP AT A DEALERS BECAUSE THE TIRE PRESSURE WAS LOW. I KNOW I NEEDED SOME TRIES. I PUT ON TWO TIRES AND WHY THE RIM WAS OFF, THEY NOTICE THAT IT WAS BENT. I HAD A PROBLEM LAST YEAR WITH A RIM THAT THE DEALER FOUND A CRACK IN IT. ANOTHER CUSTOMER HAD HER MALIBU IN FOR SERVICE AND THEY FOUND OUT THE HER RIM WAS BENT ALSO. ON THE INTERNET, I NOTICED THAT THIS IS NOT ISOLATED AS I THOUGHT IT WAS. A CRACK OR BENT RIM COULD CAUSE A TIRE FAILURE AND MAY INJURE OR KILL SOMEONE. GM WARRANTY DOESN'T COVER THIS ANYMORE. OH I BROUGHT THIS CAR NEW. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 65 MPH, THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG INADVERTLY DEPLOYED WITHOUT ANY IMPACT TO THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO THE SIDE OF TH ROAD. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED MINOR INJURIES TO THE SHOULDER, ARM AND LEG. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER FOR DIAGNOSIS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE PROBLEM. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 53,000.
THE BRAKE LIGHTS WILL GO ON FOR NO REASON WHILE I AM PRESSING THE GAS AND THEN WHEN I PRESS THE BRAKE, THEY WILL SHUT OFF. AS WELL AS WHEN I TURN ON THE HAZARDS, MY TRACTION LIGHT WILL SWITCH ON AND WHEN I TURN THEM OFF THE LIGHT STAYS ON SAYING "SERVICE TRACTION" AND THEN THE LEFT TAIL LIGHT BLINKER SHORTS OUT AND PRETENDS LIKE IT IS GOING OUT AND WILL BLINK RAPIDLY. THEN WHEN THE BRAKE LIGHT ISSUE IS HAPPENING MY CRUISE CONTROL WILL BE FAULTY. THERE IS A SHORT OR SOMETHING HAPPENING WITH THE WIRING, IT HAS BEEN BAD FOR A WHILE NOW. MY 2010 CHEVY MALIBU LOSES POWER STEERING AT LOW RATES OF SPEED WHEN THE STEERING WHEEL IS MOVED IN EITHER DIRECTION. THIS HAS PUT MY FAMILY IN DANGERS WAY ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS. GM/CHEVY RECENTLY HAD A RECALL TO FIX THE ISSUE I AM HAVING HOWEVER THEY WILL NOT COVER THE 2010 MODEL UNDER THE RECALL. THE 2008-2012 MODELS OF THE CHEVY MALIBU USE THE SAME ELECTRONIC STEERING PARTS HOWEVER GM FEELS THEY ONLY NEED TO RECALL THE 2008 AND 2009 MODELS. THIS IS URGENT THAT THIS BE ADDRESSED WITH GM AND IS A MATTER OF PUBLIC SAFETY. I ALSO WILL BE WRITING MY LOCAL AND STATE REGULATORS IN THE HOPES THAT THIS MAY SAVE LIVES AND DOCUMENT MY COMPLAINTS. THE CONTACT STATED WHENEVER THE FRONT DRIVER'S SIDE SEAT BUCKLE WAS ENGAGED, THE SEAT BELT WARNING INDICATOR WOULD REMAIN ILLUMINATED AS THOUGH IT WAS NOT CLOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 41,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THAT THE FRONT BRAKES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. IN ADDITION, THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE BRAKE SYSTEM WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE THE TECHNICIAN INFORMED THAT THE REAR BRAKES, THE REAR ROTORS AND THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE CALIPER NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT AFTER STARTING THE VEHICLE, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS FAILED TO OPERATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE WIPER TRANSMISSION NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 25,000.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2010 CHEVROLET MALIBU. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO TURN ON THE REAR DEFOGGER SYSTEM IT FAILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC, WHO STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS CAUSED BY THE FUSE FOR DEFOGGER LOCATED IN THE TRUNK, WHICH HAD BURNT AND MELTED. THE FUSE WAS REPLACED. THE DEALER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 33,000.

THE CONTACT TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER WAS TOLD THERE HAD BEEN NO OTHER COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SUNROOF SHATTERING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 58,000. FOLLOWING THE RECALL FIX FOR ID#93696 I EXPERIENCED THE "SERVICE ENC" WARNING. A SHORT TIME LATER I BEGAN EXPERIENCING THE "TRACTION" WARNING COMING ON. I NOW HAVE PROBLEMS WHEN TRYING TO USE THE CRUISE CONTROL FEATURE. AND JUST RECENTLY I GET A INTERMITTENT DINGING SOUND, THAT SOUNDS LIKE THE SEATBELT WARNING, THAT COMES ON IN SPITE OF THE SEAT BELT BEING HOOKED SECURELY. I HAVE REPEATEDLY BROUGHT THESE ISSUES TO THE ATTENTION OF THE RUDA CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP ONLY TO HAVE THEM BLOW ME OFF. I BECAME PERSISTENT AND CONTACTED GM DIRECTLY AND THEY INSTRUCTED RUDA TO REPLACE THE BREAK PEDAL POSITION SENSOR. HOWEVER THIS FIX HAS NOT MADE ANY DIFFERENCE. I CONTINUE TO HAVE THE SAME ISSUES. I AM BECOMING INCREASINGLY CONCERNED REGARDING THE SAFETY OF THIS $27,000 VEHICLE. I UNDERSTAND THAT I MAY, AT SOME POINT, ALSO EXPERIENCE BRAKE LIGHT ISSUES AS WELL. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. I AM A PANCREATIC CANCER PATIENT WHO HAS TO DRIVE 2 HOURS ONE WAY TO SEE MY SPECIALIST. I HAVE ENOUGH STRESS IN MY LIFE!!! *TR

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKES, THE BRAKE LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE AND ERRONEOUSLY ILLUMINATED WHEN THE BRAKES WERE NOT DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS DRIVEN TO A DEALER WHERE IT WAS FOUND THAT THE BRAKE SWITCH FAILED. THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE TRACTION CONTROL WARNING LIGHT ERRONEOUSLY ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE FAILURE RECURRED SEVERAL TIMES AFTER THE REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED ABOUT THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 43,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE RACK AND PINION ON DRIVERS SIDE END RATTLES AT SLOW SPEED. I HAVE TRIED 3 DIFFERENT BRAND FRONT BRAKES AND ALL HAVE SQUEAKED,THE TRANSMISSION COOLER LINE STARTED LEAKING.THE CAR HAS 69,000 ON IT AS OF NOW 1/26/2013. DEALER WANT FIX ANY OF THE PROBLEM UNDER THE DRIVE TRAIN WARRANTY. ALSO HAS COLD START ENGINE KNOCK. *TR
PURCHASED VEHICLE AT 30K MILES AT BEGINNING OF YEAR AND WITHIN THE SAME YEAR TOWARDS THE END OF THE YEAR UPON START UP THE VEHICLE BEGIN MAKING A LOUD EXHAUST NOISE (SEVERAL OCCASSIONS). I TOOK THE VEHICLE INTO THE DEALERSSHIP ON TWO SEPERATE OCCASSIONS AND THEY WERE NOT ABLE TO DIAGNOSE IT AND GAVE THE EXCUSE THE THE OLDER THE VEHICLE GETS THE MORE APT IT IS TO MAKE NOISES AND SUCH. I'M A VERY EDUCATED YOUNG LADY AND I KNEW THAT STATEMENT TO BE JUST AS FALSE AS TWO LEFT SHOES ON A LEFT AND RIGHT FOOT AND THUS EXPRESSED THAT FACT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHO SHOULD BE EDUCATED IN THE CAR THAT THEY ARE SELLING WHEN IT COMES TO BODY PARTS AND LIKELY PROBLEMS. NEEDLESS TO SAY, AFTER HITTING THE 70K MILEAGE MARK THE VEHICLE AIR BAG LIGHT BEGIN TO COME ON AND OFF AND STILL DOES; FURTHERMORE VEHICLE UPON START UP OF THE ENGINE WOULD LAG AS IF SOMETHING WAS NOT CATCHING AND PREVENTING THE VEHICLE FROM STARTING UP PROPERLY, THUS I WOULD HAVE TO HOLD THE KEY TURNED LONGER THAN USUAL. I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH THIS VEHICLE AT ALL. AT 70K MILES THIS VEHCILE SHOULD STILL BE RUNNING FLAWLESSLY AS IT IS REGULARLY MAINTAINED AND TUNED-UP. PURCHASING THIS VEHICLE WAS AN EPIC FAIL. I AM SHOCKED THAT CERTAIN MODELS AND YEARS HAVE NOT BEEN PERMANENTLY RECALLED AND REPLACED BY A VEHCILE OF OWNERS CHOICE FROM CHEVROLET (NEEDLESS TO SAY I PROBABLY WOULD NOT PURCHASE ANOTHER CHEVY CAR) FOR THE HEADEACHE WE HAVE HAD TO ENDURE. I HAVE AN INFANT AND A TODDLER AND THE UNCERTAINTY OF VEHICLE OPERATION ON ANY GIVEN DAY AT ANY GIVEN TIME ON A PRACTICALLY NEW VEHCILE NEEDS TO BE THE LEAST OF MY CONCERNS! *TR

THE CONTACT NOTIFIED SEVERAL DEALERS OF THE FAILURE AND THEY ADVISED THAT HE WOULD HAVE TO BRING THE VEHICLE IN TO HAVE THE FAILURE DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 89,000.
WHILE DRIVING MY 2010 CHEVY MALIBU LT (ECOTECH ENGINE), THE ENGINE STARTS TO STUTTER AND THE ESC SHUTS OFF AND CLAIMS IT NEEDS SERVICING. THE ESC WILL GO ON AND OFF RANDOMLY. THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COMES ON AS WELL. I HAVE HAD THE CODES READ MULTIPLE TIMES AND CHANGED MULTIPLE PARTS BUT TO NO AVAIL. IT KEEPS STATING THAT THERE IS A MISFIRE IN CYLINDER 1. HAVE CHANGED SPARK PLUGS AND COIL PACKS. THE STUTTERING HAPPENS AT ALL SPEEDS, INCLUDING WHILE ACCELERATING AND IDLING. THERE'S ALSO BEEN TIMES OF TOUGH STEERING AS IF THE POWER STEERING IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY. I HAVE NOTICED IT HAPPENS MORE OFTEN IN LATE SPRING THROUGH SUMMER WHEN THE TEMPERATURES OUTSIDE ARE HIGHER. I HAVE CHECKED AND THERE IS NOT A CRACK IN THE HEAD GASKET OR THE HEAD. *TR

THERE WAS AN INTERMITTENT WHICH CAUSED THE ESC AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS TO FLASH, THE ALARM TO SOUND AND THE WORDS THAT THEY WERE OFF PLUS THE WORDS TRACTION CONTROL AND ESC SERVICE TO COME UP. THIS CAR HAS HAD A HISTORY OF MALFUNCTIONING BRAKE LIGHTS, ESC AND TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM FAILURES OVER THE PAST YEAR. THE CAR HAS BEEN IN TWO DIFFERENT DEALERSHIPS NUMEROUS TIMES WITHOUT REPAIRING THE ROOT CAUSE. IN MAY THE CAR WAS REAR ENDED CAUSING SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE. THE FAILURE OF THE BRAKE LIGHTS TO OPERATE CORRECTLY MAY HAVE BEEN A FACTOR. THE BRAKE LIGHTS OPERATE SPORADICALLY. THE CAR IS NOT CURRENTLY SAFE TO DRIVE AFTER SPENDING LAST WEEK AT A DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT. BEING A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER IT IS MY OPINION THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL ENGINEERING DESIGN DEFICIENCIES THAT ARE NOT ADDRESSED BY THE REPAIR PROCEDURES LISTED WITHIN THE SERVICE MANUAL. I RECOMMEND THAT THESE CARS BE RECALLED AS A CAR WITH NO KNOWN PROBLEM CAN DEVELOP THIS PROBLEM WITHOUT WARNING PLACING THE DRIVER IN HARMS WAY. I PURCHASED THE 2010 MALIBU, USED FROM THE DEALERSHIP- THEY WERE THE OWNERS PREVIOUSLY. I PURCHASED IT IN OCT. 2011 AND HAVE TAKEN IT TO THE DEALERSHIP 8 TIMES IN THE 9 MONTHS OF OWNING IT. ONE TIME THE ENTIRE DRIVER SIDE FLOOR HAD 1+ INCHES OF STANDING WATER IN IT, AFTER A RAIN. THE ESC LIGHT CONTINUED TO COME ON AND OFF- THEY COULDN'T LOCATE ANY ISSUE- THE FIRST 2 TIMES I TOOK IT IN FOR THAT. THE OIL LIFE SENSOR NEVER WENT OFF FOR SERVICE- I WAS AT 10,000 MILES SINCE THE LAST OIL CHANGE. I TOOK IT TO MY REAL MECHANIC TO HAVE FIXED. THE BATTERY WENT TOTALLY DEAD IN IT ONE DAY- THEY SAID IT HAD BAD CELLS IN IT. AND IT WOULD ALSO STALL, AND WHEN GOING ABOUT 40 MPH NOT ACCELERATE, ON INCLINES. THAT'S WHEN THE ESC LIGHT WOULD KICK ON, SOMETIMES, AND THE RPM'S WOULD GO UP AND DOWN, ALL OVER THE PLACE. FINALLY MADE THE DEALERSHIP KEEP IT UNTIL THEY FIGURED OUT SOMETHING- THEY KEPT IT A FEW DAYS, AND CALLED ME NUMEROUS TIMES ASKING ME UNRELATED QUESTIONS- THEY THOUGHT I WAS NUTS, BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T REPRODUCE THE ISSUE. FINALLY- THEY TOLD ME A WIRE IN THE FUEL INJECTION HAD COME LOOSE. FIRST OCCURRENCE I WAS DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND MY WARNING LIGHTS CAME ON FOR ESC OFF, SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL, SERVICE ESC AT 20 MPH. THEY'VE REPLACED 4 PARTS ON MY CAR AND TODAY THE SAME LIGHTS SERVICE TRACTION CONTROL AND SERVICE ESC HAVE COME ON ONCE AGAIN. IT VARIES (SPEED DOESN'T MATTER) WHETHER OR NOT GOING DOWN THE HIGHWAY OR STOPPING IN A DRIVEWAY WHEN IT COMES ON BUT WARNING LIGHTS WILL COME ON WHEN YOU TOUCH THE BRAKES. WHEN THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO PULL OVER SAFELY, HE OPENED THE TRUCK AND DISCOVERED THERE WAS NO JACK, NO TIRE, NO DONUT AND NO SPARE RIM. INSTEAD, THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDED A TIRE SEALANT AND COMPRESSOR KIT. THE CONTACT CALLED AAA, AND WHEN THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER ARRIVED ON THE SCENE, HE INFORMED THE CONTACT THE TIRE HAD A LARGE CUT AND THAT NO SEALANT COULD SEAL IT. FIRESTONE INFORMED THE CONTACT THE TIRE COULD NOT BE REPAIRED AND THE SEALANT WOULD NOT HAVE WORKED, AND EVEN IF IT HAD, THE RIM HAD A SMALL DENT THAT MEANT THE TIRE WOULD NOT HAVE HELD AIR. I STARTED THE VEHICLE AND BEGAN TO BACKUP. THE VEHICLE SUDDENLY LOST POWER STEERING. WE HAVE HAD TO PULL TO THE SIDE OF THE ROAD, TURN OFF THE IGNITION, AND WAIT FIVE TO TEN MINUTES TO RESTART THE VEHICLE, EMERGENCY LIGHTS TURNED ON FOR SAFETY. THE DEALERSHIP HAS EXPERIENCE A LOT OF THE SAME COMPLAINTS WITH THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE. I HAVE RESEARCHED THE INTERNET FOR GM RECALLS ON THE 2010 CHEVY MALIBU, BUT HAVE FOUND NOTHING. MY HUSBAND HAS PHYSICALLY TRIED TO TILT THE LIGHT BULBS, BUT THAT DOESN'T WORK EITHER. THERE NEEDS TO BE A REDESIGN OF THE HEADLAMPS TO PROVIDE BETTER VISIBILITY. POOR VISIBILITY CAN CAUSE ACCIDENTS. UPON ACCELERATING FROM A PARKING LOT TO THE ROAD I HEARD A LOUD BANG FROM THE REAR OF THE CAR. I STOPPED TO DO A VISUAL INSPECTION AS IT SOUNDED LIKE IT CAME FROM THE REAR SUSPENSION. I CONTINUED A MILE DOWN THE ROAD WHILE SLOWING FOR A STOP SIGN I HEARD ANOTHER NOISE FROM THE SAME AREA AND HEARD A METAL OBJECT BOUNCE UNDER THE CAR AND DOWN THE ROAD. I RECOVERED A PIECE OF A BROKEN SPRING THAT HAD COME FROM MY RIGHT REAR SUSPENSION. I WENT DIRECTLY TO THE CHEVY DEALER AND THEY CONFIRMED THE FAILURE. *TR
I WAS ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE POWER STEERING WENT OUT. I HAD TO QUICKLY PULLOVER TO AVOID GETTING HIT BY ONCOMING CARS. *TR
I OWN A 2010 CHEVY MALIBU AND HAVE HAD ISSUES WITH MY BRAKE LIGHTS COMING ON WHEN I AM NOT APPLYING THE BRAKE. I TOOK MY CAR IN AND HAD THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH REPLACED AND THE ISSUE IS STILL HAPPENING. THIS IS A HUGE SAFETY ISSUE WHEN MY BRAKE LIGHTS COME ON WITHOUT ME APPLYING THE BRAKE. IN ADDITION, THERE ARE TIME THE LIGHTS DO NOT COME ON WHEN I APPLY THE BRAKE. *TR
WHEN THE CARS HAD ABOUT 60000 MILES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT STARTED COMING ON, GAUGES SHUT OFF , AC WOULD NOT WORK GAS MILEAGE WOULD DROP AFTER TAKING IT TO DIFFERENT DEALER SHIPS WE HAD DIFFERENT REASONS FOR THE PROBLEM. ALL OF THE EXPENSIVE AND THEY WERE NOTE SURE IT WOULD HELP SON BY UNHOOKING THE BATTERY IT WOULD SOMETIMES CLEAR THE PROBLEM FOR A SHORT TIME, BUT IT WOULD ALWAYS RETURN. NOW WITH 100,000 AND ABOUT FIRST OF 2014 THE ENGINE STARTED SHUTTING OFF WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD, TRACTION CONTROL WOULD COME ON BY ITSELF AND LOWER POWER LIGHT WOULD COME ON PLUS ALL THE OTHER PROBLEMS WITH TWO YOUR BOYS THIS CAN BE SCARY. WE HAVE HAD THE RECALL DONE WITH THE BMS CABLE WHICH DIDN'T DO ANYTHING TO HELP THE PROBLEM THE DEALERSHIP WHICH WAS IN WEST JEFFERSON, NC LEFT THERE TOOLS IN THE CAR AND NOTE VERY PROFESSIONAL, MACK BROWNS IN BOONE SAID IT HAD NO RECALL WERE RUDE AND DIDN'T DO ANYTHING. WE HAVE CHANGED THE CAM SHAFT SENSORS AND WHEN WE GET HE MONEY ANOTHER SUGGESTION IS THE THROTTLE BODY SENSOR WHICH IS PART OF AN ASSEMBLY WHICH IS EXPENSIVE BUT WE HAVE NO CHOICE CAN'T TRADE IT IN LIKE THIS SO WERE STUCK. THIS IS THE WORST CAR EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER HAD NO MORE CHEVROLETS FOR US. *TR
SOMETIME AROUND 70,000 MILE WHEN WE WOULD CRANK UP THE CAR WE WOULD HEAR A LOUD EXHAUST NOISE. AFTER THE CAR WARMED UP, THE NOISE WOULD GO AWAY. WE TOOK IT INTO THE LOCAL DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL. WE HAVE ALSO HAD ENGINE RUNNING PROBLEMS SINCE EARLY 2013. WE NOW HAVE OVER 106,000 MILES ON IT AND A LOCAL MUFFLER REPAIR SHOP DIAGNOSED THE NOISE AS A CRACKED EXHAUST MANIFOLD. AFTER CHECKING WITH THE LOCAL DEALER, THEY STATED THAT THERE HAVE REPLACED SEVERAL MANIFOLDS ON VARIOUS YEAR MODEL MALIBU'S. HOWEVER, WE ARE OVER THE MILEAGE WARRANTY. THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD CAN ONLY BE SOLD AS A SINGLE UNIT WITH THE CATALYTIC CONVERTER. I THINK IT SHOULD BE COVERED. *TR
DEFECTIVE DOOR LATCHES. BOTH DRIVER SIDE FRONT AND BACK DOOR PROBLEMS SINCE I PURCHASED MY 2010 CHEVROLET MALIBU BACK IN 2012. DRIVER DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN OR NOT SHUT. CONTACTED GM TWICE AND NO ASSISTANCE FROM GM. I PURCHASED A AFTERMARKET DOOR LATCH AND REPLACED THE DRIVER DOOR LATCH IN JAN 2018 AND HAVE NO MORE PROBLEM SINCE. DRIVER BACK DOOR I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO OPEN SINCE 2015 AND BECAUSE THE BACK DOOR WONT OPEN, THERE IS NO WAY TO REPLACE THE LATCH. IF A FIRE OR ACCIDENT HAPPENS THERE IS NO EXIT FROM DRIVERS SIDE BACK DOOR. WITHOUT WARNING ON A 7 YEAR OLD VEHICLE, THE TRANSMISSION FAILED IN AUG 2017 136000 MILES. EXPENSIVE REPLACEMENT.
