CONSUMER COMPLAINED ABOUT A TRANSMISSION PROBLEM. WHEN DRIVING TRANSMISSION SOUNDED AND RODE ROUGHLY. CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO DEALER ON THREE OCCASIONS . DEALER WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF FAILURE. MANUFACTURER WAS ALSO CONTACTED. *AK
THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR AN DRIVERS SIDE BACK DOOR MOLDING HAS DIMPLES THE SIZE OF A GOLF BALL LOOKS VERY BAD HAS BEEN THERE EVER SINCE I TOOK DELIVERY OF VEHICLE AND DEALERSHIP SAYS THAT IN THE FUTURE THERE WILL BE A RECALL TO FIX THIS I FEEL AS A CONSUMER THAT THIS IS A DEFECT AND IT SHOULD BE FIXED IMMEDIATELY.*AK *JB
THE TRUCK LOSES POWER STEERING ASSIST IN SLOW TURNING MANEUVERS THERE WERE NO EVENTS LEADING UP TO THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE OCCURRED AT ABOUT 2000 MILES AND HAS PERSISTED TO 20,000 MILES. I HAVE HAD THE VEHICLE SERVICED OVER 25 TIMES. THE DEALERSHIP HAS REPLACED THE STEERING GEAR 2 TIMES, THE POWER STEERING PUMP, THE HOSES FOR THE POWER STEERING PUMP, THE HYDRAULIC VACUUM ASSIST 2 TIMES AND THEN PLACED A MANUAL VACUUM ASSIST THE THIRD TIME WHICH IS NOT ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT, THEY HAVE REPLACED THE ELECTRONIC CONTROL FOR THE VACUUM ASSIST 3 TIMES AND MOST RECENTLY REPLACED THE ELECTRONIC FUSE CONTROL FOR THE VACUUM ASSIST. *NM
I HAVE A 2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. I HAVE HAD IT TO THE DEALER'S SERVICE DEPARTMENT (SO FAR) TWICE AND THE FIRST TIME THEY DID NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE SO THEY STATED THEY COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. THE SECOND TIME THE SERVICE TECH RODE WITH ME AND COULD HEAR THE PROBLEM. THEY TOOK THE VEHICLE IN AND DIAGNOSED IT AS "TRANSFER CASE DRIVELINE GROWL". THE DEALER CALLED CHEVROLET/GM IN DETOIT AND WAS TOLD THAT "THERE IS NOT A CORRECTION@THIS TIME-NO REPAIR SHOULD BE ATTEMPTED".*AK
WHILE DRIVING 58 MPH STEERING WHEEL PULLED TO THE LEFT, CAUSING CONSUMER'S VEHICLE TO REAR END ANOTHER VEHICLE. CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
I HAVE A 2004 CHEVROLET TRUCK WITH 90,000 MILES ON IT. EVERYTHING ON THE TRUCK WORKED FINE THEN WITHOUT ANY NOTICE THE SPEEDOMETER, TACH, AND OIL PRESSURE GAUGES STARTED WORKING INTERMITTENTLY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET SUBURBAN 1500. WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT OR MAKING RIGHT TURNS SHE HEARS A GRINDING NOISE FROM THE STEERING COLUMN. ALSO WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE DRIFTS WITHOUT ANY WARNINGS. THE DEALER COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. WHILE EXITING A PARKING LOT, SHE COULD NOT TURN THE STEERING COLUMN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER MULTIPLE TIMES AND THE DRIVER SIDE FRONT HUB BEARING ASSEMBLY ALONG WITH OTHER STEERING COMPONENTS WERE REPLACED ON THE VEHICLE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,847. THE CURRENT WAS 62,000.
TRANSMISSION WENT OF GEAR WHENEVER THE KEY IS IN THE ACCESSORY POSITION. THIS CAUSED A COLLISION.*AK
SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER WORK SOMETIMES. NOW DON'T WORK AT ALL. *JB
2004 DURAMAX WILL NOT DEFROST WINDSHIELD OR WARM CAB AFTER 1 HOUR PLUS OF IDLE OPERATION. IF WINDSHIELD IS SCRAPED IT FOGS OVER WHEN OPERATED DOWN THE ROAD TO WARM THE ENGINE. THIS PROBLEM, FROM FREEZING TEMP. AND WORSENS AS THE TEMP. DROPS. I PURCHASED VEHICLE 10-30-2003 AND GM SERVICE SAYS THAT THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY TRUCK. IS THIS TRUE THAT THEY ARE ALLOWED TO DESIGN AND SELL A VEHICLE IN THIS CLIMATE THAT WILL NOT WARM UP ENOUGH TO DEFROST THE WINDOWS IN SUCH A PERIOD OF TIME. OPERATION OF THIS VEHICLE IS NEITHER SAFE FOR MYSELF OR ANYONE ON THE ROAD. *NM
THE ROOF OF THE TRUCK WAS SOFT, IT BUCKLED WHEN THE CONSUMER WENT THROUGH A CAR WASH. *JB WHILE DRIVING AT FREEWAY SPEEDS WITH THE SIDE WINDOW OPENED HALF WAY, PRESSURE BUILT UP INSIDE THE VEHICLE WHICH CAUSED THE ROOF TO BUCKLE. *NM
THE TIRES DO NOT FULLY CONTACT THE GROUND,THEY ARE ROUNDED. THREE FIFTHS OF THE TIRE IS ON THE GROUND. ONCE THE ROAD IS WET THERE IS A LACK OF STOPPING POWER. GENERAL, AMERITRAK ATS, LT215/85R16, LOAD RANGE E, DOT A30P1UNB, 115/112S. *AK THE TIRES FAILED TO GRIP THE ROAD WHEN ATTEMPTING TO MAKE QUICK OR SUDDEN STOPS, THE ABS WOULD KICK IN BUT THE STOPPING DISTANCE WOULD INCREASED WITH THE LACK OF TRACTION. ALSO, THE CENTER OF THE TIRE WAS WORN 3/32 AND THE OUTER WAS 1/5 OF EACH SIDE OF THE TIRE WAS NOT IN CONTACT WITH THE GROUND. *SC

I HAVE A 2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO Z71 PICKUP CREWCAB AND A CLUNKING BEGAN IN THE TRANSMISSION AROUND 2000 MILES AND HAS WORSENED. THE TRUCK NOW HAS 19,000 MILES AND THE DEALER SAID THERE WAS NOT A PROBLEM AND IT WAS NORMAL FOR THIS TRUCK. I KNOW THIS IS A PROBLEM FROM DOING SOME SEARCHING ON THE INTERNET AND WANT TO KNOW WHAT WILL BE DONE TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM.
2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE PROBLEM I HAVE BEEN HAVING WITH THIS TRUCK STARTED FROM DAY ONE. WHEN I PURCHASED THIS TRUCK IT WAS RIGHT OFF THE SHOWROOM FLOOR IT WAS SOLD TO ME WITH BRAND NEW GM CERTIFIED 20" RIMS AND TIRES WHICH REALLY MAKE THE TRUCK LOOK GREAT BUT ONE THING THEY FAILED TO TELL ME WAS THAT THE STEERING ON THE TRUCK WOULD BE EFFECTED. I HAVE BROUGHT THE TRUCK BACK SEVERAL TIMES FOR THE FOLLOWING PROBLEM.WHEN THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN MOTION THE STEERING ON THE TRUCK IS VERY VERY HARD TO TURN AS IF IT DOES'NT HAVE POWER STEERING. THIS MAKES TURNING THE TRUCK AROUND OR BACKING INTO AN AREA WERE YOU MUST FIRST TURN THE WHEEL VERY HARD. AFTER THE SECOND TIME I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO RICART CHEVY ON HAMILTOIN RD THEY TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT FIX THE PROBLEM AND IT WOULD BE SOMTHING I WOULD HAVE TO LIVE WITH. WHEN I HEARD THIS I WENT TO THE RICART COORPRATE LEVEL AND THEY GOT A GM REP. INVOLVED .WHEN I TALKED TO THE REP FOR THIS AREA HE TOLD ME THAT THEY COULD NOT FIX IT AND THAT ALL THE TRUCKS IN THE RICART TRUCK LOT WITH THESE 20" WHEELS ALL DID THE SAME THING. I QUESTIONED HIM ABOUT THE FACT THAT THEY KNOW THERE IS A PROBLEM BUT THE ARE STILL PUTTING THEM ON THE TRUCKS? HIS REPLY WAS THEY ARE NOW HAVING A WAIVER SIGNED FOR PEOPLE PURCHASING THE TRUCK WITH THESE WHEELS ARE GOING TO HAVE THIS TYPE OF TROUBLE.NOW I AM NO WIZARD ENGINEER BUT COMMON SENSE SHOULD SAY FIX THE TRUCK CORRECTLY. I DONT KNOW IF THIS COULD CAUSE AN ACCIDENT OR INJURY BUT IT SURE WOULD BE HARD TO GET OUT OF THE WAY IF YOUR VEHICLE WOULD NOT TURN FROM A STANDING POSITION.AT THIS TIME I AM TRYING TO GET THIS RESOLVED BUT I DONT SEEM TO BE GAINING ANY GROUND AND COULD SURE USE YOUR HELP. I HAVE ASKED THEM TO FIX THE TRUCK OR REFUND MY MONEY IN FULL BUT BOTH REQUESTS HAVE BEEN DENIED.*AK
AFTER THE VEHICLE IS WARM, ONE OF THE INJECTOR SLEEVES BEGINS TO LEAK DIESEL AND OIL INTO THE CRANKCASE, CAUSING PLUMES OF WHITE AND BLACK SMOKE TO COME OUT OF THE TAIL PIPE AND CAUSES THE TRUCK TO SPUTTER. A LOUD SOUND OF A VALVE FLAPPING VIOLENTLY ALSO IS HEARD. THE TRUCK HAS BEEN TO THE DEALERSHIP 4 TIMES. EACH TIME, THEY SAY THAT NOTHING IS WRONG. ONE DEALER IN MONTEREY SAID THAT THE INJECTORS ARE FROM A 2003 MODEL TRUCK AND ARE SMALLER THAN THE 2004 SLEEVES, THEREFORE ALLOWING DIESEL AND OIL TO LEAK INTO THE CRANKCASE. THE DEALERSHIP HAS BEEN UNWILLING TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM IN SACRAMENTO.*AK
DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD AND FELT MY BRAKES SHUTTER THAN HEARD A WHIRRING NOISE AND LIGHTS STARTED COMING ON SAYING MY ANTILOCK BRACKS NEEDED SERVICE. WAS TOLD THAT MY TRUCK NEEDED A NEW ANTILOCK PUMPAND THAT IT WAS OUT OF WARRANTY BY 3000 MILES NOTHING WAS DONE UP TO THIS POINT
WHILE DRIVING 65 MPH FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM FAILED. THIS CAUSED THE VEHICLE TO BACK FIRE. HOWEVER, VEHICLE STILL DRIVABLE. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
WHILE DRIVING 20 MPH CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND THE BRAKES FAILED. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND PULLED OVER. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT THE BRAKE LINES NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
CONSUMER STATES THAT HE HAS A BRAND NEW VEHICLE WITH MALFUNCTIONING HEADLIGHTS. HE STATES THAT THE HEAD LAMPS BULBS ARE SO DIM THAT YOU CANNOT SEE IN FRONT OF YOU AT NIGHT. HE SAID THE LIGHT BULB DO NOT SPREAD SO THAT YOU CAN SEE BEFORE YOU REACH THE AREA YOU ARE APPROACHING. PLEASE HELP, BECAUSE THIS IS A HAZARD, NOT BEING ABLE TO SEE WHERE YOU ARE GOING AT NIGHT. *NM *SC
HEADLIGHTS DO NOT LIGHT WELL DUE TO CONDENSATION, ESPECIALLY IN THE RAIN AND AT NIGHT. THIS DECREASES THE VISIBILITY ON THE ROAD.*AK
2004 CHEVY SILVERADO SPEEDOMETER STARTED TO STICK AT AROUND 55 MPH THEN START WORKING, THIS WENT ON FOR ABOUT TWO MONTHS, THEN IT PEGGED OUT AT 120 MPH AND HAS STUCK WHILE DRIVING, WHEN TRUCK IS AT IDLE IT SETS AT 70 MPH. *JB
THE CONSUMER STATED HIS PANT LEG CONTINUED TO GET STUCK ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. THE CONSUMER WAS CONCERNED THAT WILL PROHIBIT HIM FROM BRAKING IN AN EMERGENCY. PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB THE CONSUMER TALKED TO OTHER OWNERS OF THE SAME VEHICLE AND FOUND THAT THEY HAVE THE SAME PROBLEMS OF PANT CUFFS SLIPPING OVER THE EMERGENCY BRAKE PEDAL WHEN ENTERING THE VEHICLE. PROBLEM DISTRACTS CONSUMER WHILE DRIVING BECAUSE HE HAS TO REACH DOWN AND REMOVE HIS PANT LEG FROM THE BRAKE PEDAL. *TC

THE GRILLE GUARD IS BLOCKING THE HEADLIGHTS, MAKING VISIBILITY ON THE ROAD AT NIGHT DIFFICULT. CONTACTED MANUFACTURER FOR A REPLACEMENT GRILL.*AK
HIGH BEAM INDICATOR IS TOO BRIGHT WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE DURING NIGHT TIME HOURS ON VERY DARK ROADWAYS. THE HIGH BEAM INDICATOR ILLUMINATES TOO BRIGHTLY BACK TO THE DRIVERS EYES AND CAUSES UNNECESSARY PERIPHERY EYE STRAIN. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND AN INCONVEINENCE TO THE OPERATOR OF THE VEHICLE WHEN HIGH BEAM OPERATION IS NEEDED FOR SAFE ROAD VISIBLITY.*AK

ANNOYING EXPANSION SOUND FROM MUFFLER/EXHAUST SYSTEM WHEN VEHICLE IS STOPPED AND PARKED FOR ABOUT 15 MINUTES. NO FIX FOR PROBLEM YET.*AK
THE PASSENGER SIDE DOOR COULD NOT BE UNLOCKED FROM THE OUTSIDE BECAUSE THE DOOR HANDLE WAS COVERING THE LOCK CYLINDER. *NM *NM
I AM AN AUTOMOBILE MECHANIC AND HAVE BEEN FOR OVER TWENTY YEARS. ON 9\17\04 I PURCHASED A BRAND NEW 04 CHEVROLET SILVERADO SUPER SPORT, A TRUCK THAT THE GM FACTORY LOWERED TWO INCHES IN THE FRONT AND FOUR INCHES IN THE REAR. THE FIRST NIGHT I OWNED THE TRUCK I NOTICED A SERIES SUSPENSION PROBLEM. ON MONDAY I LOOKED UNDER THE FRONT SUSPENSION AND REALIZED THE FACTORY LOWERED THE FRONT END RIGHT DOWN ON THE BUMP STOPS, SO IT HAS NO FRONT SUSPENSION. I TOOK THE TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALER AND TOLD THEM THE PROBLEM THEY SAID, OH YEA THERE ALL LIKE THAT. I WAS DRIVING HOME ON 9\26\04 DOING 70 MPH ON THE FREEWAY AND HIT A LITTLE TINY BUMP IN THE ROAD AND ALMOST LOST CONTROL OF THE TRUCK. WHEN I HIT A BUMP THE FRONT TIRES COME OFF THE GROUND. THIS TRUCK IS VERY UNSAFE I CAN GO OVER EVEN THE SMALLEST BUMP AND FEEL THE FRONT END COME OFF THE GROUND. THIS TRUCK IS A VERY LIMITED EDITION. I EMAILED GM AND ASKED THEM IF IT WOULD BE OK TO LOWER MY TRUCK DOWN ON TO THE BUMP STOPS THEY TOLD ME THAT WOULD NOT BE RECOMMENDED FOR SAFETY REASONS! SO I ASK YOU WHY DID THERE FACTORY DO IT IF THEY KNOW IT IS UNSAFE. ONE LAST THING THIS TRUCK IS VERY HARD TO STOP IT DOZEN`T TRANSFER WEIGHT WHEN BRAKING. IT SURE IS A PRETTY TRUCK THOUGH JUST NOT SAFE. *AK
WHEN BRAKES ARE APPLIED THE PEDAL DESCENDS TO THE FLOOR WITH MINIMUM RESPONSE. BRAKES LOSE REACTION TIME WHEN PEDAL IS DEPRESSED. DEALER TESTED THE BRAKES AND STATED THAT THE BRAKES WERE NORMAL. ALSO, DEALERSHIP TRIED OTHER VEHICLES ON THE LOT, AND ALL THE BRAKES REACTED THE SAME. *AK *BF *NM
I HAD SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH THE BRAKES ON MY 2004 CHEVY SILVERADO K1500. THE DEALER LOOKED AT IT 3 TIMES AND SAID EVERYTHING WAS OK, BUT THE DELAER NEVER EVEN DROVE IT TO CHECK OUT MY COMPLAINT. THIS VEHICLE HAD LESS THAN 12,000 MILES ON IT AND IT WOULD NOT STOP ON A SHARP DECLINE UNLESS THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS CONSTANTLY HELD ALL THE WAY ON THE FLOOR. I PAID AN OUTSIDE COMPNAY TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THE CHEVY DELAER WOULD NOT DO ANYTHING TO FIX THIS UNSAFE VEHICLE. I HAVE SINCE SOLD THE VEHICLE BUT HAVE SPOKEN TO OTHER CHEVY K1500 OWNERS WHO HAVE THE SAME COMPLAINT. THOSE BRAKES ARE DEFECTIVE AND UNSAFE, PEOPLE ARE GOING TO GET KILLED BECAUSE CHEVY REFUSES TO ADMIT TO THE PROBLEM OF POOR SAFETY DESIGN!
WHILE DRIVING, THE SERVICE BRAKE LIGHT APPEARED ON THE DASHBOARD AND REMAINED ON. THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION, AND THE MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT COMPUTER HAS TO BE RESET BY THE MANUFACTURER. AT THIS TIME THE SOFTWARE HAD NOT BEEN APPROVED BY THE EPA. THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AS DESIGNED. *AK THE CONSUMER WAS UNSURE IF THE SYSTEM WAS WORKING PROPERLY. *SC
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 20 MPH, THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD VIBRATE. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THE DEALER COULD NOT ORDER THE PART AND ADVISED HIM TO CHECK WITH ANOTHER DEALER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 22,200 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 7,500.
WHILE DRIVING AT A MODERATE SPEED, THE CONSUMER NOTICED THAT THE STEERING WAS PERFORMING ERRATICALLY. THE CONSUMER DROVE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP. THE DEALERSHIP IDENTIFIED THE PROBLEM AS THE STEERING SHAFT/BOX. THERE WERE NO PARTS AT THAT TIME. IT HAS BEEN SEVEN WEEKS AND PARTS STILL WEREN'T AVAILABLE. THE CONSUMER CALLED THE MANUFACTURER, AND THEY DIDN'T KNOW WHEN PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE. *AK THE FRONT END FELT LOOSE. THE CONSUMER REQUESTED A REFUND. *SC
THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STOP IN A REASONABLE DISTANCE AND I HAD TO GO TO THE RIGHT OF VEHICLE IN FRONT. NO ACCIDENT RESULTED. NOW I MUST BEGIN STOPPING WELL AHEAD OF TIME BECAUSE THE REAR BRAKES NEVER SEEM TO STOP WELL. GM HAS WORKED ON THE BRAKES AT LEAST THREE TIMES, INCLUDING REPLACING THE REAR CALIPERS AND PADS ALL IN THE FIRST 30000 MILES. *JB

DRIVER'S WINDOW RATTLES WHEN WINDOW IS NOT ALL THE WAY UP OR DOWN. DEALER STATES THIS IS NORMAL FOR THIS TRUCK AND THAT THERE ARE NO FIXS. *NM
DT*: THE CONTACT STATED WHILE STOPPED AT A STOP SIGN, THE VEHICLE WAS HIT ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRONT END. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. SEAT BELTS WERE IN USE HOWEVER BACK AND NECK INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED. THE IMPACT WAS SO SEVERE; BOTH PASSENGER TIRES CAME OFF THE RIMS AND DUG INTO THE PAVEMENT. THE ELECTRIC SIDE MIRRORS ON THIS TRUCK ARE WAY TOO SMALL. SPECIFICALLY, THEY ARE TOO SHORT. UPON INQUIRING AT THE GM DEALER, I WAS INFORMED THAT THEY CANNOT BE CHANGED DUE TO THE ONBOARD COMPUTER WILL NOT ACCEPT ANYTHING BUT THE ORIGINAL. THEY CANNOT EVEN BE CHANGED TO A MANUAL MIRROR. UPON INQUIRING AT A LOCAL TRUCK AFTERMARKET STORE, I WAS INFORMED THAT THEY HAVE HEARD THIS MANY TIMES BEFORE BUT UNFORTUNATELY OFFER NO SOLUTION AFTERMARKET OR OTHERWISE. THESE MIRRORS ARE WOEFULLY TOO SMALL, THEREFORE CANNOT BE ADJUSTED PROPERLY AND IN FACT ARE NEARLY USELESS. I HAVE INFORMED GM VIA EMAIL AND BY RESPONDING TO THEIR SURVEYS. THEY OF COURSE, IGNORE ME. CLUNKING NOISE SOUNDING LIKE A U-JOINT IN BOTH REVERSE AND DRIVE FROM FIRST TO SECOND GEARS. HAPPENS AT ANY SPEEDS. TWO REPAIR CENTER/CHEVROLET DEALERS STATED THIS IS A COMMON NOISE AND FEELING. THERE WAS A BULLETIN FROM CHEVROLET ABOUT IT AND THERE IS NOT REPAIR. TOLD THAT YOU HAVE TO LIVE WITH THE NOISE. *NM

THE STEERING COLUMN IN MY 2004 CHEVY SILVERADO MAKES CLUNKING SOUNDS AND CAUSES VIBRATIONS THAT ALTER THE STEERING. I TOOK IT TO GM WHILE IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY THEY SAID THEY REPAIRED THE PROBLEM, BUT ABOUT 20MILES LATER IT STARTED AGAIN, HAVE JUST DELT WITH IT SINCE BUT SEEMS TO BE GETTING WORST. I BOUGHT ANOTHER 2004 SILVERADO IT TOO DOES THIS CLUNKING AND VIBRATING, EVIDENTLY THIS IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM, ALONG WITH THE SPEEDOMETER NOT WORKING ON BOTH MY TRUCKS. *TR
WHILE PARKED ON A INCLINE CONSUMER APPLIED THE PARKING BRAKE AND IT FAILED, CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO ROLL DOWN A HILL. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND PULLED OVER. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE CAUSE HAD NOT BEEN DETERMINED. *AK
THE BRAKES ON MY 2004 SILVERADO 1500 4 X 4 ARE TERRIBLE. TOOK TRUCK TO DEALERSHIP WHILE TRUCK WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY. REPLACED REAR ROTORS. BRAKES WERE STILL BAD. TOOK TRUCK BACK TO DEALERSHIP, WAS TOLD EVERYTHING WAS FINE. BRAKES STILL BAD. SERVICE MANAGER DROVE MY TRUCK AND A DIFFERENT TRUCK A COUPLE OF YEARS OLDER TO COMPARE THEM. ACKNOWLEDGED BRAKES WERE NOT NEAR AS GOOD ON MY TRUCK. THEY CHECKED TRUCK AGAIN AND COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG. BRAKE PEDAL IS VERY SPONGY AND WHEN I NEED TO MAKE AN EMERGENCY STOP, I STAND ON THE BRAKE PEDAL AND WAIT FOR THE TRUCK TO COME TO A STOP. THERE HAS TO BE A COMMON PROBLEM. I HAVE HEARD THAT I AM NOT THE ONLY PERSON WITH THIS PROBLEM. THIS NEEDS FIXED BEFORE SOMEONE GETS HURT OR WORSE. *TR
THE AIR BAG LIGHT WAS ON AFTER BEING SERVICED ON THREE OCCASIONS. THE AIR COIL, AIR BAG MODULE AND MODULE DIAG SENSOR SENSOR WERE REPLACED. *JB
OPERATING MY PICKUP ON RIVER ROAD (GRAVEL SURFACE), AKRON, IOWA AT A SPEED BETWEEN 15-20 MPH, DRIVERS DOOR WINDOW SHATTERED AND FELL ON DRIVER, CUTTING MY LEFT HAND. I IMMEDIATELY DROVE THE VEHICLE TO DIRKS MOTOR COMPANY, THE CHEVROLET DEALE, AND REPORTED THE DEFECT IN THE VEHICLE. THE WINDOW WAS REPLACED ON AUGUST 18, 2004. THE VEHICLE WAS PURCHASED IN LATE JUNE 2004. AT THE TIME OF THE DEFECT THE VEHICLE HAD 4,075 MILES.*AK
