THE INSTRUMENT PANEL CLUSTERS OVERLY BRIGHT HIGH BEAM INDICATOR DISTRACTED THE DRIVER AND CAUSED A NEAR MISS ACCIDENT WITH A DEER CROSSING THE ROADWAY. WHEN DRIVING THE VEHICLE ON VERY DARK ROADWAYS THE HIGH BEAM INDICATOR GLOWS TOO INTENSE BACK INTO THE DRIVER'S EYES.*AK
WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH THE TORSION BAR ON THE FRONT BROKE. THIS CAUSED THE RIGHT FRONT TO DROP AND LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL. VEHICLE WAS TOW TO A REPAIR SHOP. DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOTIFIED.*AK TORSION BAR ADJUSTER BROKE ON THE LEFT FRONT AND THEN LOST CONTROL AND WENT OFF DRIVEWAY INTO TREES CAUSING SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE TO SUSPENSION AND FRAME. *BF
I PURCHASED A 2004 SILVERADO IN DEC OF 03. I HAD BRAKE PROBLEMS SINCE THE FIRST DAY. THE BRAKE ARE VERY SOFT AND OFTEN THE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR. THE TRUCK JUST WILL NOT STOP SAFELY. I HAVE TAKEN THE TRUCK BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE I PURCHASED IT AND THEY SAY THERE IS NO PROBLEM. BECAUSE OF THE POOR BRAKE SYSTEM I HAD AN ACCIDENT 1 MONTH AFTER BUYING THE TRUCK. *JB
STEERING SHAFT RATTLES. MORE SEVERE WHILE TURNING CURVES, OR ON BUMPY ROADS. NO FAILURE YET. DEALER WILL ONLY APPLY GREASE. NO RECALL NOTIFICATION TO DATE, DEALER HAS NOT REPLACED.*AK
WHILE PULLING INSIDE OF THE GARAGE THE CONSUMER APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE STOPPED BY HITTING THE HOUSE WALL. THE BRAKING BEFORE THE CRASH CAUSED THE ABS AND THE ENGINE LIGHTS TO APPEAR ON THE DASHBOARD WHICH REMAINED ON. THE CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO DRIVE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE DRIVER THAT THE PROBLEM COULD NOT BE DUPLICATED. *JB
05V043000/HYDRAULIC BRAKE BOSCH. THE CONSUMER IS EXPERIENCING A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES AND STEERING. THE CONSUMER STATED THAT WHEN DRIVING AND APPLYING THE BRAKE, THE VEHICLE LOST POWER STEERING. THE BRAKE DOES NOT RETURN TO ITS NORMAL POSITION AFTER THE BRAKE HAS BEEN RELEASED CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO LOSE POWER STEERING. OWNER TOOK THE VEHICLE BACK TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT BECAUSE THEY CAN NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM THEY WILL NOT DO ANYTHING. ALSO THE OWNER CONTACTED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS TOLD THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON THIS VEHICLE, WHAT SO EVER. PROVIDE FURTHER DETAILS. *JB
CLUNKING AND RATTLING NOISE IN STEERING SHAFT THAT CAN BE FELT IN STEERING WHEEL. DEALER AND GM ACKNOWLEDGES PROBLEM BUT WILL NOT FIX IT UNDER WARRANTY. DEALER SAYS THAT GM HAS NOT COME UP WITH A FIX FOR THE PROBLEM. DEALER ALSO SAYS THAT PROBLEM IS NOT A SAFETY PROBLEM BUT I AM CONCERNED. DEALER ALSO STATES THAT THIS OCCURS IN OTHER MODELS SUCH AS SUBURBANS AND AVALANCHES, ETC. *JB
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE WINDSHIELD MOLDING HAD TO BE REPLACED ON THE FRONT OF THE VEHICLE. THE SPEEDOMETER FAILED, THE STEERING COLUMN WAS LOOSE, AND THE REAR AXLE SEAL WAS REPLACED. THE DASHBOARD LIGHTS FAILED TO ILLUMINATE AND WERE REPLACED AS WELL. THE VEHICLE HAS UNDERGONE NUMEROUS ELECTRICAL FAILURES WHICH WERE STILL OCCURRING. THE VEHICLE HAD SIXTEEN FAILURES, AND HAD BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER ON NINE OCCASIONS. THE CURRENT MILEAGE IS 31,000, AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 22.*AK
THE HIGH BEAM INDICATOR IS TOO BRIGHT ON MY 2004 CHEVROLET 3500 DRW CC PICKUP. AT NIGHT, THE LIGHT IS BRIGHT ENOUGH TO IMPAIR THE VISION OF THE DRIVER. EVERYTIME I DRIVE MY TRUCK AT NIGHT (WHICH IS ALOT IN THE WINTERTIME IN ALASKA WHEN WE HAVE REDUCED DAYLIGHT HOURS) THE HIGH BEAM INDICATOR IS SO BRIGHT THAT I HAVE HAD TO COVER IT TO REDUCE THE GLARE AND NOT LIMIT MY VISIBILITY OF ONCOMING VEHICLES, MOOSE, PEDESTRIANS, ETC. *AK
I OWN A 2004 CHEVY SILVERADO 2500HD. ON 11 FEB 2005 I NOTICED SOME RUST ON MY TRAILER HITCH. I INSPECTED IT AND FOUND THAT THERE IS RUST AROUND THE WELDS, AND THAT ONE OF THE WELDS IS COMPLETELY CRACKED. I WENT TO THE DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT THE ONLY FIX IS TO RE-WELD IT. I TOLD THEM THAT I DID NOT WANT IT WELDED, I WANTED IT REPLACED. THIS IS A WARRANTY ITEM. I FEEL THAT IF THE ORIGINAL ROBOTIC WELDS WERE NOT HOLDING, THEN WHY WEAKEN THE METAL MORE BY HEATING IT UP AGAIN AND RE-WELDING IT. I EXPRESSED MY CONCERN THAT IF THE HITCH WAS RE-WELDED, AND IT FAILED WHILE I WAS TOWING AND CAUSED A SERIOUS ACCIDENT WHO WOULD TAKE RESPONSIBILITY. NO ANSWER ON THAT QUESTION. I HAVE RESEARCHED ON THE INTERNET AND FOUND THAT THERE ARE SEVERAL PEOPLE THAT HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM, AND JUST REPLACED IT WITH AN AFTER MARKET HITCH. I HAVE ALSO SEEN THE PICTURES OF A SERIOUS ACCIDENT CAUSED BY A GM HITCH FAILURE. AS OF RIGHT NOW, I DO NOT HAVE A SOLUTION TO THIS PROBLEM OTHER THAN THE DEALERSHIP WILL NOT REPLACE THIS GM INSTALLED, UNDER WARRANTY HITCH. THE DEALERSHIP WANTS TO RE-WELD IT. I THINK THIS CAN BE A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE DUE TO THE FACT THAT MOST PEOPLE DO NOT TAKE THE TIME TO INSPECT THERE TRAILER HITCHES, AND JUST HOOK UP AND TAKE THERE FAMILY OUT FOR A WEEKEND TRIP PULLING THERE TRAVEL TRAILERS. I WILL CONTINUE TO TRY AND WORK WITH GM AND THE DEALERSHIP TO GET THIS PROBLEM SOLVED. *JB
AFTER READING ON SEVERAL WEB FORUMS ABOUT GM HITCH RECEIVER PROBLEMS, I CHECKED MINE AND WAS SHOCKED THAT ALL BUT ONE WELD ON MY RECEIVER SHOWED SIGNS OF RUSTING. TWO WERE TO THE POINT WHERE CRACKED WELDS WERE OBVIOUS. THE DEALER OFFERED TO REPLACE IT BUT I DID NOT WANT A GM HITCH SO I USED ANOTHER RECEIVER AT MY EXPENSE. I HAD TOWED A 7700 POUND TRAILER ABOUT 20,000 MILES MAX. HITCH HAS BEEN DISPOSED OF. I HAVE SOME PHOTOS (NOT VERY GOOD). IT IS A 2004 CHEV, 2500HD, DIESEL. *NM
THE INTERMEDIATE STEERING SHAFT ON CHEVROLET SILVERADO TRUCKS BECOMES LOOSE AND ALLOWS STEERING TO UNEXPECTEDLY DRIFT OVER UNEVEN GROUND OR AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN A CROSS WIND. ALL OF THE DEALER SERVICE SHOPS ARE AWARE OF THIS. THE FIRST OCCURRENCE WAS AT 16,596 MILES AND THE REPAIRS WERE MADE, THE PART FAILED AGAIN AT 42,176 MILES. *JB

A CLUNKING NOISE COULD BE HEARD UNDER THE CONSUMER'S 2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO WHILE IN MOTION . *NM THE VEHICLE HAD BEEN TAKEN TO THE DEALER 3-4 TIMES FOR REPAIRS. THE CONSUMER WAS INFORMED THAT THE DEFECT COULD NOT BE REPAIRED. *SC *JB
ABOUT 1 MONTH AFTER BUYING A NEW 2004 SILVERADO IT STARTED SURGING VILOENTLY WHEN COLD. IT IS INCONSISTANT, SOMETIMES LASTS FOR BLOCKS. I ALMOST GOT REAR ENDED LAST WEEK WHILE TRYIG TO CONTROL THE TRUCK. GM REFUSES TO DO ANYTHING, SAYING THERE IS NO DIAGNOSIS CODES SET AND THEY HAVE NEVER HEARD OF SILVERADO`S SURGING. THEY CLASS IT AS A FEATURE AND SAY I NEED TO FEATHER THE CLUTCH. FEATHERING THE CLUTCH IN TRAFFIC IS A GOOD WAY TO GET KILLED. THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON ABOUT 4 MONTHS NOW. I BELIEVE THEY KNOW WHAT IS WRONG AND IT IS HAPPENING WITH MORE THEN JUST MY ONE TRUCK; BUT THEY DON'T WANT TO SPEND THE MONEY TO FIX IT.
DT: 2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE CONSUMER STATES THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAS A SLIP IN IT AND IT STALLS. THE DEALERSHIP INSISTS THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE VEHICLE AND IT CANNOT BE FIXED. THE VEHICLE HESITATES AND THEN CLANGS WHEN IT CATCHES INTO GEAR. THE MANUFACTURER STATED THEY NEED TO SPEAK WITH THE DEALERSHIP BEFORE THEY COULD MAKE A DECISION. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN OCCURRING SINCE APPROXIMATELY FEBRUARY 2005. THIS DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL OF THE TIME. *AK
CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2004, INADEQUATE AND UNSAFE BOTTLE JACK. *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS TOO LARGE FOR A JACK THAT SIZE. THE CONSUMER IS REQUESTING THE MANUFACTURER PROVIDE HIM WITH AN ADEQUATE JACK. *JB
SPEEDOMETER FAILURE. TOOK THE TRUCK TO THE CHEVROLET REPAIR CENTER TO BE TOLD THAT THE WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER AND THE PRICE THEY ARE ASKING IS OUTRAGEOUS. THE DEFECT IS KNOWN TO THE REPAIR MAN THERE FOR I WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WERE HAVING IT VERY FREQUENTLY, THEREFORE IT IAS A MANUFACTURES DEFECT. *NM

WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH AND ATTEMPTING TO STOP THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR AND THE BRAKE SERVICE LIGHT CAME ON . PLEASE PROVIDE ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. *JB
I RECENTLY HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE HEATER MOTOR IN MY 2004 CHEVY SILVERADO. THE HEATER MOTOR BEGAN TO MAKE A SQUEALING NOISE. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED IT . MECHANICS LOOKED IT OVER AND I WAS TOLD THE BEARING IN THE HEATER MOTOR WAS SEIZING UP ,ALTHOUGH THE DEALERSHIP DIDN'T HAVE A NEW HEATER MOTOR IN STOCK THEY WERE ABLE TO GET ONE IN A MATTER OF HOURS. MY TRUCK WAS FIXED THAT SAME DAY .I MUST SAY I WAS VERY IMPRESSED AND HAPPY WITH THE SERVICE I RECEIVED. THANK YOU. *NM
ACCELERATING AFTER START UP THE FRONT AXLE LOCKED UP IN 4 WHEEL DRIVE. THE FRONT AXLE WAS REPAIRED. *AK VEHICLE OPERATED IN 2 WHEEL DRIVE. *AK
THE DASH BOARD CLUSTER WENT OUT AND THE TRUCK IS ONLY A YEAR OLD, THE EXPENSE AND THE DELAY IN GETTING IT FIXED DUE TO THE BACK LOG OF CLUSTERS NEEDING REPAIRED. IT TOOK SEVEN DAYS FOR THE PART TO COME IN.*AK
DT: CLUTCH FAILURE, VEHICLE HAS BEEN TO THE DEALER THREE TIMES FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THEY HAVE TEMPORARILY FIXED IT. THEY REPLACED BEARING, FLYWHEEL, PRESSURE PLATE, AND THE SLAVE CYLINDER. THIS WAS THE FIRST TIME. THE SECOND TIME THEY REPLACED THE MASTER CYLINDER. THE THIRD TIME THEY REPLACED THE HYDRAULIC FLUID. THIS STARTED ON JANUARY 12, 2005. THIS USUALLY HAPPENED WHEN DRIVING STRAIGHT FOR FOUR OR MORE HOURS. THE LAST TIME DEALER TOOK VEHICLE TO DEALER FOR FOURTH TIME, TOOK OUT THE FRAME, AND THERE WAS AN INCREASE IN CLUTCH PEDAL TRAVEL, AND PEDAL BECAME MOMENTARILY SPONGY. *AK
WHILE DRIVING THE AIR BAG LIGHT CAME ON , AND THE COMPUTER READ OUT, SAYING SERVICING AIR BAG. THE CONSUMER TOOK VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, THEY PLACED IT ON THE COMPUTER AND STATED IT SHOWED NO DEFECTS, AND WARRANTY HAS EXPIRED. *AK *SC
AFTER AN AVERAGE COLD NIGHT ABOUT 0*TO - 7* F, SNOW AND ICE WERE ON THE ROADS SO THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN 4WD AND LEFT FOR THE NIGHT, WHEN I WENT TO WORK THE NEXT DAY, THE TRUCK MADE A VERY LOUD GROWLING NOISE FROM THE FRONT DIFFERENTIAL AND TRIVE TRAIN FOR ABOUT 20 - 30 MILES. TURNS OUT THE FRONT DIIF FLUID IS A STANDARD 90W GEAR OIL. THE FLUID FROZE CAUSING DAMAGE TO THE TRANSFER GEARS AND LOCKING UP THE RIGHT FRONT AXLE CUASING THE 4WD TO NOT ENGAGE PROPERLY. TOOK TO LOCAL DEALER IN KEARNEY, MO AND VERIFIED DAMAGE TO GEARS AND AXLE. GM WAS CONTACTED, AND INITIALLY ADVISED OF NO PROPLEM REPAIR. DEALER REMOVED COVER PLATE AND FOUND SIGNIFIGANT GEAR AND AXLE DAMAGE, GM THEN REPLACED THE WHOLE FRONT DRIVETRAIN ASSEMBLY AS IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY. *AK
WHILE DRIVING ON I-75 NORTH COMMING FROM FLORIDA AFTER CROSSING THE GEORGIA STATE LINE DRIVER MADE STOP AT THE REST AREA,WHEN I RESUMED TRIP THE CRUISE CONTROL FAILED TO ENGAGE,A FEW MILES LATER IN HEAVY TRAFFIC THE CRUISE CONTROL ENGAGED ON IT'S OWN. *AK ALMOST CAUSING A ACCIDENT,THIS TRUCK HAS HAD NOTHING BUT PROBLEMS SINCE THE DAY IT WAS BOUGHT,ANYMORE PROBLEMS THIS TRUCK WILL BE PARKED AND TILTLED ONLY FOR MY SAFTY AND THE SAFTY OF OTHERS ON THE ROAD.SEEMS TO ME AFTER 100 YEARS OF AUTO BUILDING GENERAL MOTORS COULD GET IT RIGHT,OH BY THE WAY THE LOCAL DEALER SAID HE COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG WITH THE CRUISE CONTROL,I HAVE NO DOUBT IF THIS HAD BEEN A CASH FEX INSTEAD OF A WARRENTY PROBLEM THEY WOULD HAVE FOUND THE PROBLEM.
WHILE DRIVING A RATTLING NOISE WAS COMING FROM THE FRONT. CONSUMER DROVE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER, AND MECHANIC DETERMINED THAT STEERING WHEEL SHAFT NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *AK
RECALL # 05 V 043 000/BOS/HYDRO BOOSTER/HYDRAULIC BRAKE: CONSUMER IS REPORTING THAT WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS THE BRAKE BOOSTER PRESSURE ACCUMULATOR BLEW OFF THE VEHICLE. CONSUMER WAS ABLE TO BRING THE VEHICLE TO A STOP. VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A REPAIR SHOP. THE MECHANIC CONFIRMED THAT THE BRAKE ACCUMULATOR NEEDED TO BE REPLACED.
ON THREE SEPARATE OCCASIONS WHILE APPLYING THE BRAKE PEDAL IT WENT TO THE FLOOR. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THE DRIVER WAS ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, AND DROVE IT TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. HOWEVER, THE MECHANIC COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM AT THIS TIME. *AK THE ABS/BRAKE LIGHT STAYED ON, THERE WAS AN INTERMITTENT RATTLE IN THE FLYWHEEL, THE CONSUMER STATED THAT THE CLUTCH HAS NO "THROW." *SC *JB
THE VEHICLE SHUTS DOWN AND LURCHED FORWARD WHEN IT WAS COLD AND DURING INCLEMENT WEATHER. THIS MADE IT DIFFICULT FOR DRIVER TO MAINTAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE CHANCE OF A CRASH. TOOK TO DEALER FOR CHECKUP, BUT RESULTS SHOWED THAT THE CAUSE WAS UNDETERMINED.*AK
TAILGATE PROBLEM, DRIVERS SEAT FAILURE,CRUISE CONTROL FAILURE, DECLINING BRAKE EFFECTIVENESS,WATER LEAKING IN DRIVERS DOOR,ELECTRICAL FAILURE IN RADIO,POWER MIRRORS. OWNER RETURNED TRUCK TO BANK FOR VOL.REPO.FEELING THIS TRUCK WAS BECOMING MORE UNSAFE TO DRIVE, THIS AMONG OTHER CIRCUMSTANCES. *JB
THE SPARE TIRE WAS NOT THE SAME SIZE OF THE TIRES MOUNTED ON THE VEHICLE. *SC THE CONSUMER STATED THAT CHEVROLET DOES NOT MAKE NOR PROVIDE 17 INCH SPARE TIRES FOR HIS VEHICLE. THE 2005 VEHICLES NOW HAVE 17 INCH SPARE TIRES. THE CONSUMER ASKED IF IT IS SAFE TO MAKE AN 8000 MILE JOURNEY PULLING A 6000 POUND TRAILER WITH TWO DIFFERENT SIZE TIRES ON HIS VEHICLE. *TC *JB

VERY EERIE FEELING TO BE DRIVING AND THIS TO HAPPEN. A NEW SET OF TIRES HAVE BEEN PLACED ON FRONT. COMPLAINED TO GM,NO RECALL BUT WOULD BE NOTIFIED IF THERE WAS. TAKEN TO DEALERS WHO RECOGNIZED THIS WAS THE PROBLEM BUT DID NOT DO ANYTHING ABOUT. *NM
DT: IN JANUARY 2005 THE CONSUMER'S HUSBAND WAS DRIVING AT 30 MPH WHEN THE BRAKES AND STEERING LOCKED UP. IN JANUARY 2005 THERE WAS A LIGHT SNOW . THE CONSUMER TOOK THE VEHICLE TO THE MECHANIC AND FOUND OUT THAT THE BRAKES WERE CORRODED. THE VEHICLE HAD A LITTLE UNDER 20,000 MILES ON IT. ON AUGUST 31, 2005 THE SAME THING HAPPENED AND IT WAS WET OUTSIDE. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WAS NO FOR WARNING. *AK *MR
PARKING BRAKE CABLE THAT RUNS NEXT TO DRIVERS SIDE FRAME HAS A PART THAT CONNECTS TWO PIECES OF THE CABLE TOGETHER RIGHT BELOW THE DRIVERS SIDE DOOR. THIS PART IS NOT SMOOTH AND CAUSES SNOW BUILDUP AROUND THE CABLE CONNECTOR WHICH THEN WEIGHS DOWN THE CABLE CAUSING THE PARKING BRAKE TO INADVERTENTLY ACTIVATE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2004 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE FRONT TIRES WERE WEARING PREMATURELY. THE TIRES WERE ROTATED REGULARLY, BUT THE FRONT TIRES CONTINUED TO WEAR PREMATURELY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER DESIGNED THE FRONT TIRES TO BE ROTATED EVERY 6,000 MILES. THE CONTACT FELT THAT THE SUSPENSION WAS CAUSING THE TIRES TO WEAR PREMATURELY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 6,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 40,400. .. UPDATED 08-30-12 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE TIRES WERE ROTATED EVERY 3,000 MILES SINCE THE VEHICLE HAD 6,000 MILES. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER OFFERED NO REPAIR FOR THE FAILURE. SINCE IT WAS NEW MY TRUNK SURGES UNCONTROLLABLY AND VIOLENTLY AT TIMES. ITS NORMALLY WHEN I FIRST START IT IN MORNING AND FOR FIRST BLOCK OR TWO. ITS VERY DANGEROUS, IF IT EVER HAPPENS ON THE FREEWAY I WILL DIE. GM THREATENED TO BANKRUPT ME IF I SUED UNDER LEMON LAW.
THE CONSUMER WAS MAKING A U TURN AND WITHOUT WARNING THE STEERING WHEEL FAILED. THE STEERING WHEEL WAS HARD AND DIFFICULT TO TURN. THE CONSUMER HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THE DEALER. THE MECHANIC INFORMED THE CONSUMER THAT THE POWER STEERING PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. *JB
DEATH WAS THE RESULT OF A CRASH INVOLVING A 2004 SILVERADO TRUCK, DUALLY. MY SON, GENE, DECEASED OWNER, WAS RETURNING HOME WHEN TRUCK SKIDDED AND ROLLED OVER AT LEAST TWICE, KILLING HIM. I THINK THERE MAY HAVE BEEN A PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES OR POWER STEERING, BUT AM NOT SURE HOW TO PROCEED WITH THIS. I HOPE YOU CAN HELP IN SOME WAY. GENE'S WORK WAS ON THE ROAD, AND HE LIVED ON THE ROAD. ALTHOUGH ALCOHOL WAS A FACTOR IN THE CRASH , HIS MOTHER SPOKE TO HIM WITHIN THE HOUR OF HIS DEATH AND HE DID NOT SEEM VERY INTOXICATED. *AK
NEW SILVERADO THE TWO BATTERIES GO DEAD IN A FEW DAYS OF NO USE. AFTER THREE SERVICE TRIPS TO DEALER. THEY TELL ME NOT TO LEAVE THE TOW PACKAGE SWITCH ON. SO INSTEAD OF FIXING THE SHORT, THEY TELL ME NOT TO USE THIS OPTION. I AM FEAR THIS MAY CAUSE A FIRE. ALSO WHEN I TOOK A TEST DRIVE ALL THE SILVERADO'S ON THE LOT WERE DEAD AND HAD TO BE JUMP STARTED. *JB

WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH VEHICLE HYDROPLANED, LOST CONTROL, AND CRASHED INTO A BUILDING HEAD ON . UPON IMPACT, DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY, AND PASSENGER'S SIDE AIR BAG WAS DEACTIVATED. NO INJURIES REPORTED. *AK
SPEEDOMETER AND TACHOMETER FAILURE. SPEEDOMETER NEEDLE SWINGS CLOCKWISE AND GOES PAST 120 MPH - EVEN WHEN VEHICLE IS STATIONARY. UNABLE TO DETERMINE VEHICLE'S SPEED. VERY UNSAFE SITUATION. TACHOMETER IS INACCURATE. CANNOT DETERMINE IF OR WHEN ENGINE IS BEING OVER-REVVED. THIS COULD LEAD TO ENGINE DISINTEGRATION. BOTH OF THE ABOVE HAS OCCURED IN A VEHICLE THAT IS LESS THAN ONE YEAR OLD. SEVERAL DELAERSHIPS ADVISING THIS IS GETTING TO BE A COMMON OCCURANCE.
WHILE BRAKING AT 40 MPH THE BRAKES FAILED INTERMITTENTLY, RESULTING IN EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCE. DEALERSHIP WAS NOTIFIED, BUT DID NOT RESOLVE THE PROBLEM. *AK
VEHICLE WAS HAVING A DIFFICULT TIME SLOWING DOWN WHEN THE BRAKES WERE APPLIED, ESPECIALLY WHEN TOWING ITEMS. DEALER WAS NOTIFIED BY CONSUMER, BUT REFUSED TO REPAIR VEHICLE. *AK *NM
TIRES ARE OUT OF ROUND. I HAVE A 2004 Z71 THAT HAS 8,000 MILES ON IT. THE DEALER HAS PUT FOUR SETS OF TIRES ON IT. THEY WONT ADMIT THERE IS A PROBLEM. CAN YOU HELP? THE TIRES ARE BRIDGESTONE DUELERS A/T 17"*JB
OUTSIDE DISC BRAKE PAD ON RIGHT REAR WHEEL WEARS OUT PREMATURELY CAUSING THE BRAKE DISC TO BE DAMAGED. REAR RIGHT SIDE AXLE IS ALLOED TO FLOAT FROM SIDE TO SIDE IN THE AXLE HOUSING ALLOWING THE BRAKE PAD TO BE LOADED BY THE WEIGHT OF THE TRIUCK DURING NORMAL OPERATION. THIS LOADING CAUSES THE PREMATURE BRAKE PAD WEAR.
WHEN AT LOW IDLE THE POWER STEERING IS INOPERABLE. I HAVE TAKEN THIS TO MY DEALER @ TOLD IT IS NORMAL . I DO NOT FEEL THAT A CAR THAT IS EXTREMELY HARD TO TURN AT LOW IDLE IS CONSIDERED NORMAL.*AK
