on 7SEP 2025 @ 1100 While backing out of my driveway in my 2007 Chevy 3500, the vehicle’s airbag suddenly and unexpectedly deployed without any collision. The airbag struck me in the chest and left forearm, causing immediate injury. Since the incident, I have been experiencing chest pain and shortness of breath. Prior to this incident, I had taken my truck in for service due to concerns about the airbag recall affecting certain GM vehicles. At that time, I was informed by the dealership that my truck was not included in the recall year range. Despite this, the airbag has now malfunctioned in a way that has caused me injury. I attempted to contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the GM/Chevy Safety Office to report the matter, but both offices were closed at the time.
The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. The contact stated that while driving at a low rate of speed, the contact heard an abnormal, thud-like noise emitted from the vehicle. The contact pulled into an independent tire shop and inspected the tires. The contact found no defect with the tires and chose to proceed with driving the vehicle. While driving at approximately 40 mph, the front passenger-side tire detached from the vehicle without warning. Due to the failure, the vehicle crashed into a ditch. The air bags did not deploy. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, and the contact sought medical attention for pain in her back. The contact was diagnosed with a sprain to the right side of her neck and right side of her back. The vehicle was then towed to a different independent mechanic, where they determined that the wheel assembly hub had detached from the vehicle. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA Campaign Number: 07E106000(Wheels) and linked the failure to the recall. The manufacturer was informed about the failure. The vehicle was not repaired but remained in the possession of the independent mechanic. The failure mileage was unknown.
I was driving down the highway at 65 mph and went to slow down and I had no brakes. Resulting in me having to go into the ditch to avoid a collision. After I was able to get the truck to slow down and to a stop I inspected my braking system to find all of my brake lines were rusted out and I had ruptured my brake lines. Since the incident I have had to replace all my brake lines and both of my brake cylinders on the rear of my truck. Now I have minimal brakes after bleeding them and they are slowly coming back. The truck has almost 400,000 miles on the chassis but a new motor. During this event I was getting a grinding coming from the rear differential, after inspection, I found that my gov lock was bad and needed new spider gears which I have since replaced the rear differential with a posi differential and have had minimal problems since.
On [XXX], at or around midnight, I was traveling [XXX] at approximately 60 mph. The traffic was very light, with few vehicles on the road. It was raining, and I was in the number 1 lane. Two additional lanes were to my left, reserved for toll road traffic. I did not see any other vehicles on [XXX], nor did I see any vehicles to my left in the toll lanes. There was a physical separation between [XXX] and the toll road, consisting of 36-inch plastic candlestick dividers with approximately 10-foot separations. As I was traveling, I suddenly felt a lurch, and the right rear of my 2006 Chevrolet Silverado (Vin# [XXX] ) dropped. My pickup truck immediately began to spin to my left, forcing me into the toll lanes and into the concrete center divider. When my vehicle came to rest, I was facing eastbound in the westbound lanes of the toll road. My lights were no longer except a single amber light flashing, which gave limited warning to approaching vehicles. The California Highway Patrol arrived (unknown why no traffic collision report was taken), my vehicle was removed from the roadway, the right rear wheel and tire had separated from the vehicle and rolled to the right shoulder of [XXX] 150 yards from where my pickup came to rest. The vehicle was towed to the tow yard, where a vehicle inspection was conducted on March 19, 2025. The right rear wheel and tire for some reason were not recovered from the collision scene. The inspection revealed the cause of the collision was a broken/severed axle, not related to driver error. Photographs of the broken axle were taken and are available for review. The axle clearly had a manufacturing defect, poor casting or forging. The defect appeared to be an ongoing problem and separated from the vehicle at the time of the collision for no apparent reason. Depending on the time of day, traffic conditions, and the number of passengers, the collision had the potential to be much worse. The auxiliary transmission fuel pump system is prone to failure. This makes it so the start/stop feature will not work, as the vehicle will stall when stopped (causing an unsafe situation), and it cannot pass state inspection. The part is entirely unavailable from Chevy, and results in the vehicle being scrapped. There is no way to permanently bypass this system.
hi the power steering hose failed and caused a fire and total loss
265/75R16 9100 miles driven mostly on pavement with loads well within the vehicle capacity and never off road. Tires were rotated several months prior, about 100 miles ago and damage was not noted. Bubble appeared on sidewall which was noticed while parked; Tire shop dismounted the tire to inspect for possible causes and found nothing to explain damage (run flat, left deflated, road hazard damage). Secondary bubble slightly smaller on inside at same location. Smaller bubbles were felt inside tire and a longer, slight bubble follows the bead 1/3-1/2 of the diameter of the tire. Shop manager refused to remount tire due to risk to employees of catastrophic failure, indicating the tire poses significant safety risk if vehicle had been at highway speed and completed its deterioration. Mate to this tire on right rear shows same smaller bubble above the bead about 1/3 of tire diameter.
The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that upon a vehicle inspection performed by an independent mechanic, it was discovered that the brake line and the fuel line were severely corroded. Upon further inspection, the contact stated that the brake lines had blown out. The contact was informed that the vehicle was unsafe to drive and that the lines needed to be replaced. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 187,000.
A LITTLE WHILD AFTER TURNING THE TRUCK OFF I NOTICED SMOKE COMING FROM INSIDE THE TRUCK. AFTER PUTTING OUT THE FIRE, I INSPECTED THE WIRES TO FIND THAT THE BLOWER MOTOR HAD SHORTED OUT AND CAUGHT FIRE. I HAVE HAD A SIMILIAR ISSUE WITH MY 2003 AS WELL BUT WAS ABLE TO CATCH THE ISSUE BEFORE ANY FIRE BROKE OUT. THERE NEEDS TO BE A RECALL ON THIS PART. THANKFULLY NOONE WAS HURT BUT THIS IS A DEFINITE SAFETY ISSUE.
Service Engine Soon light came on while driving. Code P0327 - Knock Sensor 1, Circuit Low Input (Bank 1) shown on code reader. Took vehicle to local service station and had both knock sensors and wiring harness replaced. Mechanic said that the rear knock sensor was corroded due to water getting to the sensor. Drove vehicle for about 2 weeks and service engine light came back on. Took vehicle back to service station where knock sensors were replaced again. Mechanic again stated that the rear sensor was corroded due to water getting to the sensor. Drove vehicle for about 1 week and the Service Engine light has come back on for the third time with the same P0327 code showing.
On 31 Dec 21, I drove the vehicle to the car wash, after the wash was completed, I drove the vehicle approx. 1/2 mile down the road. I pulled in to a fast food lane to order a meal. While I was stopped that speaker ordering the Air bags deployed. I was not moving or struck my another vehicle. If had happen when I was driving on the hi-way it may have caused injury to myself or damage to other vehicles. The vehicle is currently available for inspection. I will be taking the vehicle to the dealer for inspection on 3 Jan 22. There was no warning prior to the deployment of the airbags.

The Frame has excessive rust especially the crossmembers that are in-between the two main lateral frame beams. In this vehicle they have rotted all the way through and there is nothing left of them and they look like swiss cheese. This particular vehicle also has only 130,000 miles on it which I personally feel is very excessive for them milage. I do understand it is a little older at this point but I have a dodge van and a Chevy sedan both having over 200,000 miles on them. Both also have been driven in West Virginia all winter long with salt exposure that do not show this amount of rust in the frame components. I feel this is a flaw in the manufacturing I have been looking online and it seems to beyond a common problem with this make and model of vehicle.
THE INTERIOR LIGHTS ON THE GAUGES ALL TURN OFF MAKING IT HARD TO SEE THE SPEED LIMITS. BRAKES SOUND AS IF GRINDING BUT CANT TELL IF ITS BRAKES OR DIFFERENTIAL AND U JOINTS. NOISE GETS LOUDER IN THE CABIN OF THE TRUCK AS I DRIVE ON THE ROAD. 3. SIGNAL LIGHTS TURN ON BRIGHT WHILE ON LEFT HAND TURN SIGNAL. AND CIGARETTE LIGHTER AND OTHER COMPONENTS WONT WORK
DUE TO FAULTY UNDERCOATING FROM FACTORY THE BACK CROSSMEMBERS ROT AND CAUSE SHOCKS TO BECOME DISPLACED AND GAS TANK TO UNSECURED ALONG WITH REAR SHAKELS TO GO THREW THE BOTTOM OF TRUCK BED.... WILL COST OVER $2500 FOR REPAIRS
TRUCK DRIVING TRANSFER CASE GO IN NEUTRAL, THEN NEED TO PARK AND PUT THE TRANSMISSION IN PARK AND IN NEUTRAL, THEN PUSH THE 4X4 BOTTOM,THEN CHANGE TO 2WLD. MAKES A LOT NOISE.UNSAFE TO DRIVE.HAPPEN IN THE HIGHWAY.
DURING A TRIP WITH 6 MONTH OLD TIRES, TWO OUT OF 6 TIRES FAILED. ONE WAS A DEEMED A ROAD HAZARD BY THE MANUFACTURER. GIVEN THESE TIRES WERE PURCHASED AND INSTALLED ON A TOW VEHICLE WITH RATINGS FOR THE VEHICLE AND FAILED ON A 75 DEGREE DAY WITH A LIGHT MIST. I WOULD SUSPECT THAT THE TIRES ARE NOT CAPABLE OF MEETING THE RATED SPECS. THE TIRES WERE PURCHASED JANUARY FROM TREADWRIGHT CORP.
THE PASSLOCK LIGHT COMES ON AND THE TRUCK WON'T START. THE INTERIOR LIGHTS GETS BRIGHT THEN DIM. BACK AND FORTH. WHEN THE PASSLOCK COMES ON IT WILL KEEP THE TRUCK FROM STARTING FOR DAYS AT A TIME. I'M AFRAID TO DRIVE THE TRUCK ANYWHERE
AT 45,000 MI, HAD TO REPLACE ABS HUB SENSOR ASSY DUE TO FALSE ACTIVATION. I HAVE SINCE REPLACE 3 MORE ASSYS COSTING OVER $400 EACH OCCURANCE. AT 100,000 MI, HAD TO REPLACE A LEAKING BRAKE LINE WHICH HAD RUSTED THROUGH AND AT 120,000 MI LOST ALL HYD PRESSURE WHILE BRAKING TO AVOID SEVERAL DEER ENTERING THE ROADWAY. REPLACED ALL BRAKE LINES AT A COST OF $1200. THERE HAVE BEEN MANY CONSUMER COMPLAINTS ON BOTH ISSUES, BUT GM WILL NOT ASSUME RESPONSIBILITY FOR EITHER.THIS IS THE 9TH SILVERADO I HAVE OWNED OVER THE PAST 40 YEARS. NEXT ONE WILL BE A FORD.
WE WERE DRIVING AND STARTED RUNNING REALLY ROUGH AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. IT SAID REDUCED ENGINE POWER TOOK IT TO A SHOP THEY SAID IT WAS SOME WIRING THEY REPLACE THE WIRING ABOUT A MONTH LATER I WAS PARKED AT HOME STARTED THE TRUCK AND IT WAS DURING THIS SAME THING ANGELITE I JUST TURNED ON RUNNING ROUGH SAID LOW ENGINE POWER I TOOK IT BACK TO THE PLACE WE HAD TO WORK DONE THEY SAID A WIRE JIGGLED LOOSE AND THEY SCREWED IT BACK IN SAID I WAS GOOD TO GO LAST WEEK I WAS TAKING MY TRUCK TO GET IT INSPECTED WAS FINE ALL THE WAY TO TOWN PARKED IT AT THE SHOP GO IN AND TELL THEM I NEED INSPECTION THEY COME OUT START THE TRUCK SAME SCENARIO AS BEFORE ENGINE LIGHT WAS ON LOW ENGINE POWER RUNNING ROUGH COULDN'T GET IT INSPECTED THEY PUT THE CODE DEVICE ON IT AND IT SAID THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR HARNESS SOMETHING LIKE THAT
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 45 MPH, THE BRAKING SYSTEM HAD MALFUNCTIONED AND DID NOT STOP THE VEHICLE WHEN PRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO CRASH INTO A TREE. DURING THE CRASH, THE FRONT END EXPERIENCED SEVERE DAMAGE BUT THE FRONT AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. NO INJURIES WERE REPORTED AND NO POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS MANEUVERED TO A PARKING LOT AND A TOWING COMPANY WAS CALLED. THE COSMETIC DAMAGES WERE BEING REPAIRED AND THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE WAS NOT DETERMINED AS OF YET. A LOCAL DEALER (UNKNOWN) WAS CALLED AND INFORMED ABOUT THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER THEN CALLED THE CONTACT AND OPENED A CASE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 200,000.
BRAKE LINES HAVE ROTTED OUT AND NEED TO BE REPLACED
ANYTIME A TRAILER IS FIRST ATTACHED, THE TRUCK WILL RANDOMLY GO INTO REDUCED POWER MODE WHILE DRIVING. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AS THE TRUCK CAN TO THIS AT HIGHWAY SPEED IN TRAFFIC. IT WILL DO THIS A FEW TIMES UNTIL THE PCM "LEARNS" THERE IS A TRAILER ATTACHED. GM IS AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND ISSUED SERVICE BULLETIN 06-06-04-042B TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE BY REPROGRAMMING THE PCM. BECAUSE OF THE SAFETY CONCERNS, THIS SHOULD BE ADDRESSED AS A RECALL. HOWEVER,I HAD TO TAKE THE TRUCK INTO THE DEALER FOR THE UPDATE AND WAS EXPECTED TO PAY FOR THEM FIXING A KNOWN SOFTWARE ISSUE. INSTEAD OF DOING THE UPDATE AT NO CHARGE, THEY MANAGED TO DAMAGE THE PCM WHILE PERFORMING THE UPDATE. THE PCM IS NO LONGER SERVICEABLE AND THE DEALER IS WANTING TO CHARGE ME FOR A REPLACEMENT EVEN THOUGH IT WAS DAMAGED DURING A CALLED FOR SERVICE BULLETIN UPDATE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT ORIGINALLY EQUIPPED WITH A TRAILER HITCH SO THE PROBLEM DIDN'T ARISE UNTIL THE HITCH WAS INSTALLED AND A TRAILER WAS ATTACHED.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 3500. WHILE THE CONTACT WAS TURNING INTO HIS DRIVEWAY AT 5 MPH, THE BRAKE LINE FRACTURED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL, BUT IT FAILED TO ENGAGE AND THE VEHICLE DID NOT COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. THE EMERGENCY BRAKE WAS NOT APPLIED. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT NOTIFIED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 42,000.
The contact owns a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 equipped with Continental General Grabber STX tires, tire size 24570R17, DOT Number vynhhm55. The contact stated that all four tire sidewalls had begun to deuterating exposing the white another. The vehicle returned the tires to Walmart where they purchased the tires from who confirmed the tires needed to be replaced. The tires had not been replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The vehicle's approximate mileage of 72,000. The tire's approximate failure mileage was 169,000 with the first set of tires purchased and 169,000 miles with the second set of tires. The contact was unsure of which tires had what mileage due to several tire rotations being completed.
TAKATA RECALL. THE SERVICE AIRBAG SOON LIGHT IS ON.
IN LATE FEBRUARY 2019, I ACQUIRED A TRUCK FROM A USED DEALERSHIP THAT I HAVE DONE BUSINESS WITH BEFORE. UPON OBTAINING THIS VEHICLE I STARTED HAVING ISSUES RIGHT AWAY. FIRST ISSUE I ENCOUNTERED, I WAS DRIVING BACK TO KANSAS CITY FROM LEBANON,MO AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN MY BRAKES WENT OUT AND MY STEERING LOCKED UP AND TRUCK STARTED JERKING REALLY BAD. I DROVE LIKE THIS ALL THE WAY HOME AND TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND LOW AND BEHOLD IT'S COST ME $100 TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. SHORTLY AFTER I NOTICED MY TRUCK WAS HAVING ISSUES WITH GETTING UP TO SPEED WHILE GETTING ON THE HIGHWAY. I WOULD END UP HAVING THE PETAL TO THE FLOOR AND IT WOULD STILL ACT LIKE IT DIDN'T WANT TO ACCELERATE ALMOST LIKE A DELAY AND THEN SLOWLY GAIN SPEED. IT FELT AS IF IT WAS SLIPPING OR IT JUST WASN'T GETTING ANY POWER. MY OIL PRESSURE SENSOR HAD WENT OUT WITHOUT ME KNOWING AT THE TIME SO I THOUGHT THE PROBLEM HAD TO DEAL WITH MY OIL PUMP. I FINALLY TOOK IT BACK TO THE MECHANIC I USED BEFORE AND HE RAN A DIAGNOSTIC TEST ON MY TRUCK DUE TO HIM NOT FINDING ANY ISSUES BESIDES MY OIL PRESSURE SENSOR WAS DEFECTIVE. THE DIAGNOSTIC CAME BACK WITH MULTIPLE CODES AND 3 OF THEM HAD TO DEAL WITH THE TRANSMISSION. I DECIDED TO TAKE MY TRUCK TO MY BROTHER AND HAVE HIM LOOK AT IT FOR A SECOND OPINION. UPON DOING SO HE TEST DROVE AND INSPECTED THE TRUCK ENTIRELY AND CONCLUDED THAT HE DIDN'T FEEL THERE WAS AN ISSUE WITH THE TRUCK AT ALL. HE RAN HIS OWN DIAGNOSTIC ON IT AS WELL BUT HIS CANE BACK WITH NO CODES THAT CAME UP AT ALL. SO I DROVE OFF CONFUSED BECAUSE OF ALL THE DIFFERENT INFORMATION THAT WAS GIVEN TO ME ON TOP OF THE PROBLEMS I KNEW I WAS HAVING BECAUSE THE TRUCK WASN'T RUNNING LIKE IT DID WHEN I DROVE IT OFF THE LOT. SOME TIME PAST AND THEN ANOTHER PROBLEM. MY BRAKES AND ROTORS WERE TRASHED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED ASAP AND THEN MY ODOMETER STARTED READING SERVICE AIR BAG AND WOULD NOT GO OFF.
I PARKED MY TRUCK THE BLOWER WORKED FINE GOT IN IT 2 HOURS LATTER AND IT DID NOT WORK.THE WIRES TO MY BLOWER MELTED AND HOT ALMOST STARTED A FIRE IN MY TRUCK. NO SMELL NO SIGN OF THE WIRES GETTING HOT. THE ONLY THING I NOTICED WAS THE CONTROL PANEL GOT HOT WHEN IT WAS ON SO I KEPT IT OFF. IF I HAD NOT TAKEN IT TO THE SHOP 2 DAYS AFTER MY BLOWER STOPED WORKING I MIGHT NOT HAVE MY TRUCK. IT MIGHT HAVE CAUGHT FIRE WITH MY KIDS AND I IN IT OR WITH MY 17 YEAR OLD DRIVEING. A RECALL ON THIS PART WOULD BE NICE OR FIND OUT WHY IT IS DOING THIS.
TAKATA INFLATORS: MY 2006 CHEVY 3500 DRIVER SIDE AIRBAG DEPLOYED OVERNIGHT WHILE THE TRUCK WAS LOCKED, NOT RUNNING, AND HAD NO KEYS IN IT IN MY DRIVEWAY. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE! THE TRUCK WAS NOT IN AN ACCIDENT. THANKFULLY I WASN'T DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD WHEN IT DEPLOYED, OR I COULD HAVE BEEN KILLED. 2006 SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN THE RECALL. MY TRUCK WAS MANUFACTURED 5/2006 AND THE RECALL INCLUDES TRUCKS MADE 12/2006 AND NEWER. WHAT CAN BE DONE BY CHEVY TO PAY FOR MY REPAIR? ADDITIONALLY, THE NIGHT BEFORE THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED ON ITS OWN THE PASSENGER SIDE REAR WINDOW FELL INTO THE DOOR. AGAIN IT WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY LOCKED NOT RUNNING, KEYS NOT IN IT!

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO BILL BLACK CHEVROLET (601 E BESSEMER AVE, GREENSBORO, NC 27405, (877) 352-6596) TO SCHEDULE A DIAGNOSTIC APPOINTMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 170,000.
SUDDEN LOSS OF BRAKING ABILITY. ONE MINUTE BRAKES WORKED, BUT PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR ON SUBSEQUENT USE. INSPECTION REVEALED THIS WAS DUE TO RUST-THROUGH OF THE RIGID BRAKE LINES ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE FRAME
YET ANOTHER FAILURE OF INADEQUATELY SPECCED BRAKE LINES. I HAVE NOW HAD TO REPLACE TWO BRAKE LINES (FROM THE BPMV TO THE FRONT-RIGHT CALIPER AND BPMV TO THE REAR-LEFT DRUM) DUE TO BLOW-OUTS ORIGINATING FROM HEAVY CORROSION - BOTH OF WHICH OCCURRED IN HEAVY-TRAFFIC SITUATIONS. ON EVERY OTHER VEHICLE I HAVE OWNED, BRAKE LINES WERE AN ITEM THAT COULD MORE-OR-LESS BE PRESUMED A LIFETIME PART; THEY RARELY NEEDED TO BE REPLACED UNLESS DAMAGED. HOWEVER, ON MY TRUCK (AND HUNDREDS OF OTHERS JUST ON THE NHTSA'S COMPLAINTS PAGE FOR THE 06 SILVERADO ALONE), THE HARD BRAKE LINES ARE ABOUT AS FAR FROM A LONG-LASTING, HIGH-QUALITY PART AS YOU CAN GET. THERE IS AN ENDLESS AMOUNT OF DOCUMENTATION SCATTERED ACROSS THE INTERNET ON THIS MATTER, YET THE NHTSA SEEMS AVERSE TO HOLDING GM RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFETY OF THEIR PRODUCT. IT MAY WELL BE TOO LATE AT THIS POINT FOR THE NHTSA TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT, BUT WHY DIDN'T THEY DO ANYTHING SOONER? MY BLOWER MOTOR WIRING HARNESS AT THE RESISTOR LIGHTLY CAUGHT ON FIRE TODAY. I WAS DIVING ON THE HIGHWAY WITH THE FAN ON FULL BLAST. NO ONE WAS HURT AND I MANAGED TO STOP AND TURN OFF THE TRUCK INFO TIME TO STOP FURTHER DAMAGE. THE RESISTOR WAS EXTREMELY HOT YOU THE TOUCH AFTER. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM THAT I'VE READ ABOUT ALL OVER. MY VIN DID NOT HOWEVER PULL A RECALL...
THE HEATER FAN RESISTER AND CONNECTOR HAS BURNED. RECALLED BY CHEVY BUT NOT MY VEN NUMBER
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE CONTACT SWERVED TO AVOID HITTING A DEER. THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND IT FLIPPED OVER AND LANDED ON ITS SIDE IN A DITCH. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. AS A RESULT, THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BROKEN NECK, HEAD TRAUMA, AND BACK AND NECK BRUISES THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A TOW LOT AND DEEMED A TOTAL LOSS. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER WERE NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.

THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER OR AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC FOR A DIAGNOSTIC TESTING OR REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 145,000.
THE REAR BRAKES FAILED WITH LITTLE OR NO WARNING. THE BRAKES WENT FROM GOOD TO MUSHY WITHOUT WARNING LIGHT. I ADDED BRAKE FLUID TO TEST IN DRIVE WAY. PUMPED THE BRAKES AND THE WARNING LIGHT CAME ON. THE REAR LINE FAILED. I HAD THE TRUCK INSPECTED AT A GENERAL MOTORS DEALER IN JANUARY OF 2018 AND ALSO AT THE END OF FEBRUARY. THE SAID MY VEHICLE IS MAINTAINED IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. IF THIS COULD HAPPEN TO ME....ALL GM VEHICLES WITH THESE BRAKE LINES ARE AT RISK. I READ THEIR WAS A SAFETY BULLETIN 13-05-22-001. TODAY IS 4/12/2018...BECAUSE I TOW A BOAT TO FLORIDA I HAD THE TRUCK CHECKED 2 TIMES IN THE LAST 12 WEEKS....IF THE DEALERS CAN'T DETECT FAULTY LINES....A RECALL IS NEEDED.
TAMARA RECALL. MY TRUCK HAS THE WARNING ON MY INSTRUMENT CLUSTER "SERVICE AIR BAG" JUST LIKE THE 2007 TO 2011 RECALL. I FEEL THAT THE 2006 SHOULD BE ON THE RECALL TOO.
RANDOMLY MY TRUCK WILL GO IN ENGINE POWER REDUCED AND TOP SPEED IS 35 MPH. IT HAPPENED A COUPLE OF TIME ON THE INTERSTATE. THE CODE THAT POPS UP IS P2135 AND I LOOKED IT UP ON LINE. THE INTERNET IS FULL OF FORMS AND VIDEOS ABOUT THIS PROBLEM. EVERYTHING ON THE INTERNET POINTS TO THE THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR. I'VE REPLACED IT TWICE AND REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY TWICE AND WIRING TWICE. I PUT TRUCK IN THE SHOP THREE TIMES. SPENT A GOOD $1500 TRYING TO FIX THE PROBLEM AND IT STILL POPS UP EVERY COUPLE OF MONTHS.
NEPHEW BORROWED MY TRUCK. HE WAS IN MOTION AND TRIED TO MAKE A LEFT HAND TURN ON A CITY STREET AND REALIZED BRAKES HAD FAILED. HE WISELY CONTINUED STRAIGHT TILL IT SLOWED DOWN ENOUGH AND HE MADE A RIGHT HAND TURN ONTO A ROAD AND PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT BEHIND A HOUSING PROJECT. HE USED A SNOW BANK/BOULDER TO STOP THE TRUCK. LUCKILY NO ONE WAS HURT. TRUCK WAS TOWED BACK TO MY HOUSE. I DO MY OWN REPAIRS. AFTER INSPECTION IT WAS DETERMINED THAT ONE OF THE SUPPLY LINES FROM THE MASTER CYLINDER INTO THE ABS MODULE HAD RUPTURED. THERE WAS COMPLETE FAILURE OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM AFTER A SINGLE PUSH ON THE BRAKES. THE TRUCK IS 11 YEARS OLD. HOW CAN THE BRAKE LINES BE RUSTING OUT. THERE IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AND A SERIOUS FLAW WITH THIS DESIGN. I'M ATTACHING 2 PICTURES FOR YOUR OBSERVATION. GM SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR FIXING THESE BAD DESIGNS. IS THIS ANOTHER CHEAP SOLUTION LIKE THE IGNITION KEY PROBLEM THAT COST COUNTLESS LIVES? THERE SHOULD BE THE UTMOST ACTION BY THIS AGENCY TO HOLD GM ACCOUNTABLE. THIS ABS MODULE SHOULD BE UP IN THE FRONT HOOD LIKE OTHER MANUFACTURERS DO. NOT UNDER THE CAB IN A WET ENVIRONMENT. SHAME ON GM.

UPON STARTING MY TRUCK, THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE IMMEDIATELY GOES TO 80 WITH NO ACCELERATION. AT THIS POINT, THERE IS NO NOISE OR OTHER LIGHTS COMING ON TO WARN OF OTHER PROBLEMS. THIS PROBLEM STARTED A FEW DAYS AGO. WHEN TRUCK IS IN MOTION THE OIL PRESSURE GAUGE CONTINUES TO STAY ON 80. I KNOW THE 2006 CHEVY 2500 HEAVY DUTY 4X4 HAVE HAD RECALLS ON DIFFERENT THINGS, BUT NEED TO SEE IF THIS IS A PROBLEM FOR OTHER CHEVY TRUCKS AS WELL. I HAVE READ SEVERAL RECALLS ABOUT THESE TRUCKS AND A LOT OF THEM WE HAVE NEVER BEEN NOTIFIED TO TAKE IT TO A DEALER TO BE CHECKED. ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE US WOULD BE DEEPLY APPRECIATED.

ONE MORNING WHEN TRY TO GO THE WORK, I START MY TRUCK BUT SEE THE BRAKE LIGHT SHOW UP, WHEN PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES ALL THE WAY DOWN, I LOOK BRAKE FLUID UNDER THE TRUCK DROOPING FLUID BY THE GAS TANK AREA. THANKS TO GOD NOT HAPPEN WHEN DRIVING AND JUST USED THE TRUCK NIGHT BEFORE, IF NOT COULD BE SOMETHING VERY BAD AND DANGEROUS.
