INTERIOR HEAT & A/C BLOWER MOTOR FAN SUDDENLY TURNED ON FULL WITHOUT WARNING. COULD NOT TURN OFF. WOULD NOT STOP EVEN WITH KEY REMOVED FROM IGNITION. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 SILVERADO WITH HANKOOK TIRES, DYNAPRO AS SIZE 235/85/R16 (NA). SHE STATED THE TIRES WERE PURCHASED AS REPLACEMENTS IN 2009. WHILE DRIVING 55 MPH, THE REAR RIGHT TIRE BLEW; THE CONTACT STATED THIS WAS THE SECOND TIRE THAT EXPERIENCED A BLOWOUT. THE CONTACT STATED SHE CHANGED OUT THE TIRE WITH HER SPARE. SHE DID NOT CONTACT THE PLACE WHERE THE TIRES WERE PURCHASED. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 5,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS UNKNOWN.
I HAVE A 2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500 HD FOUR WHEEL DRIVE THAT IS NOT STOPPING PROPERLY AT LOW SPEEDS. THE ABS SYSTEM IS LETTING GO AT SLOW SPEEDS CAUSING THE BRAKES TO LET GO. THIS COULD BE A VERY SERIOUS SITUATION AT A CROSSWALK WITH CHILDREN. I REPORTED THE PROBLEM AT THE LOCAL DEALER AND THEY SAID IT WAS A COMMON OCCURRENCE DUE TO RUST AFFECTING THE ABS BRAKE SENSORS. THE COST OF THE SENSORS WAS 135.00 EACH PLUS ABOUT THREE HOURS LABOR TOTAL CLOSE TO $600.00. I THINK THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL ISSUE AS IT IS NOT CAUSED BY WEAR. *LN
ABS ACTIVATES AT LOW SPEEDS. DEALER STATES NOTHING CAN BE DONE TO PERMANENTLY RESOLVE THE ISSUE. NOV 2009 (13000 MILES)HAD THE SPEED SENSOR REPLACED. OCT 2010 FRONT BRAKES REPLACES(22000 MILES) NOW DECEMBER 2010 WITH 24000 MILES HAPPENING AGAIN. *TR
THE BLOWER MOTOR FAN FOR THE HEAT AND A/C THE WIRE CONNECTORS TOWARDS THE PASSENGER SIDE UNDER THE DASH GLOVE BOX THE WIRE IS MELTING WHICH IS CAUSING THE FAN NOT TO WORK SOMETIMES AND YOU CAN SMELL IT MELTING ( ITS THE MALE AND FEMALE CONNECTORS ) THEY PLUG INTO EACH OTHER THAT'S WHERE ITS AT. I OWN A 2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO TRUCK. I HAVE NOTICED A TICKING WILE THE TRUCKS ENGINE IS COLD. I HAVE TAKEN IN THE TRUCK FOR REPAIR AND MY MECHANIC INFORMED ME THAT THE EXHAUST BOLTS ARE BROKEN ON THE EXHAUST MANIFOLD. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEM WITH GM TRUCKS AND THERE SHOULD BE A RECALL FROM GM TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. *TR
I BOUGHT A 2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 CREW CAB USED FROM BILL BYRD KIA IN PANAMA CITY FLORIDA ON 03/02/2009 AND WAS TOLD THE VEHICLE WOULD BE COVERED UNDER ANY REMAINING FACTORY WARRANTY, WAS LED TO BELIEVE IT WAS A 5 YEAR/100,000 DRIVE TRAIN WARRANTY. UNFORTUNATELY,.I DID NOT DO MY HOMEWORK ON THAT STATEMENT. THE TRUCK HAD 36,581 MILES AT TIME OF PURCHASE. I HAVE DRIVEN THE TRUCK FOR PERSONAL USE ONLY AND TOOK VERY GOOD CARE AND HAD REGULAR OIL CHANGES PERFORMED. I AM NOW FACING A MOTOR REBUILD. THE ENGINE STARTED MAKING SOME KNOCKING/CRUNCHING SOUNDS FROM THE LOW END AND I'M TOLD THE CAMSHAFT, BEARINGS,OIL PUMP, SEALS, GASKETS, ETC HAVE TO BE REPLACED AT AN ESTIMATED COST OF $3,500. I HAVE CALLED THE CHEVROLET CONSUMER NUMBER I FOUND FOR THEIR CORP OFFICE IN DETROIT AND AM TOLD BY CHEVROLET THAT THIS PARTICULAR TRUCK ONLY HAD A 3 YR/36,000 MILE WARRANTY.SO I AM LEFT PAYING THESE REPAIRS OUT OF POCKET ON A TRUCK LESS THAN 5 YEARS OLD WITH LESS THAN 60,000 MILES. I CERTAINLY FEEL RIPPED OFF AFTER FINANCING THE TRUCK FOR A PERIOD OF 5 YEARS. I HAVE NO CHOICE EXCEPT TO PAY FOR THE REPAIRS SINCE IT WOULD HAVE NO TRADE IN VALUE IN THE CONDITION IT IS IN. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500HD. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE DRIVEWAY WITHIN TWENTY FOURS SHE NOTICED THE BACK WINDOW WAS SHATTERED BUT STILL INTACT. AS THE DOORS WAS OPENED SOME OF THE GLASS SHATTERED OUT OF IT. THE DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED WHO STATED THERE WAS NO RECALL AND OFFERED NO OTHER ASSISTANCE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 50,000.
DEFECTIVE METAL IN THE BRAKE ROTORS OF A 2006 CHEVY 1500 HD CAUSED RAPID WEAR THROUGH OF BRAKE PADS AND A LOSS OF BRAKING CAPABILITY (ALL FOUR ROTORS). NO OTHER RUST ON THE VEHICLE. NO HEAVY TOWING AND VERY LIMITED EXPOSURE TO SALT. THE METAL IS SUBSTANDARD AND RUSTS FROM THE INSIDE OUT. IT REACHED A POINT THAT A ROUGH BRAKING SURFACE CAUSED "SANDING" OF THE PADS SO THAT THE TIME BETWEEN WARNING OF BRAKES PADS NEEDING REPLACING FROM THE "CHIRP" SENSOR AND FAILURE WAS < 1 DAY. FAILURE GREATLY REDUCED BRAKING AND WAS A MAJOR SAFETY HAZZARD. TOOK ROTORS DEFECTIVE ROTORS TO DEALER WHO DENIED THE ISSUE. VEHICLE HAS 36K AND IS 4 YEARS OLD. MY MECHANIC TELLS ME THIS ISSUE IS COMMON. I AM A MECHANICAL ENGINEER WITH A BACK GROUND IN METALS AND CAN VERIFY THE POROUS NATURE OF THE METAL AND PITTING CORROSION. THIS PROBLEM WILL EVENTUALLY KILL SOMEONE. *TR
WHEN COMING TO A STOP, AT SPEEDS OF LESS THAN 5MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL GOES TO THE FLOOR AS IF THE ABS IS ACTIVATING. THIS HAPPENS ON SMOOTH DRY PAVEMENT. TAKEN TO SEVERAL MECHANICS AND DEALERS AND EVERYONE SAYS EVERYTHING IS WORKING THE WAY IT SHOULD. I'VE HEARD OF OTHER OWNERS OF THIS MAKE/MODEL EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEMS. WHENEVER I LET SOMEONE ELSE DRIVE MY TRUCK, I MAKE SURE I STRESS THAT IT WILL NOT STOP WHEN IT SHOULD, SO FAR NO WRECKS. A PROBLEM EXIST WITH MY 2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 LT. WHEN BRAKING AT LOW SPEEDS, THE LOW SPEED SENSOR CAUSES THE ABS SYSTEM TO ENGAGE. WHEN THE ABS SYSTEM ENGAGES, THE VEHICLE DOES NOT STOP WHERE INTENDED. THE VEHICLE TRAVELS AROUND 5 FEET FURTHER THEN IT WOULD UNDER NORMAL BRAKING CONDITIONS, DEPENDING ON SPEED. THIS HAPPENS ONLY AT LOW SPEEDS(UNDER 10MPH) AND EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE ATTEMPTS TO COME TO A COMPLETE STOP. I HAVE NOT TRIED TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM. I HAVE BEEN TOLD BY A MECHANIC THAT THE LOW SPEED SENSORS ARE DIRTY, AND NEED TO BE CLEANED OR REPLACED. I HAVE FOUND OTHER PEOPLE COMPLAINING OF THIS SAME PROBLEM WITH THIS MODEL OF VEHICLE. I FEEL THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN, DO TO A POSSIBILITY OF DELAYED BRAKING. ALTHOUGH I HAVE NOT BEEN PERSONALLY INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT, I AM CONCERNED THAT THIS PROBLEM EXISTS. DELAYED BRAKING CAN CAUSE A VEHICLE TO BE INVOLVED IN REAR-END COLLISIONS, OR TO UNINTENTIONALLY ENTER INTERSECTIONS. *TR
THE ABS SYSTEM IN MY 2006 CHEVY SILVERADO DOES NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY AT LOW SPEED. THE ABS ACTIVATES WHEN BRAKING CAUSING THE VEHICLE TO TRAVEL FURTHER WHEN COMING TO A STOP. AFTER RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM ON THE INTERNET I FOUND THAT THIS IS AN ONGOING ISSUE WITH GMC VEHICLES. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 2500 HD. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE SMOKE BEGAN TO FLOW INTO THE CAB OF THE VEHICLE AND THE FAN STOPPED FUNCTIONING. THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE WIRING HARNESS TO THE RELAY WAS THE CAUSE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE WIRING HARNESS AND RELAY WERE REPLACED. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER WHO OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 55,000. THE FAILURE MILEAGES WERE APPROXIMATELY 54,000.
2006 SILVERADO. ANTILOCK BRAKES ENGAGE ON DRY ROAD AT VERY SLOW SPEEDS. AFRAID I WILL REAR END SOMEONE. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHEN REFUELING THE VEHICLE, GASOLINE BEGAN SPEWING FROM THE FUEL FILLER NECK WHILE REFUELING. THE ONLY WAY THE CONTACT WAS ABLE TO REFUEL THE VEHICLE WAS TO SLOWLY PUMP THE FUEL FOR THREE SECONDS BEFORE ALLOWING THE FUEL TO DRAIN INTO THE TANK FOR APPROXIMATELY 10 SECONDS WITHOUT PUMPING. THE FAILURE RECURRED WHENEVER THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO REFUEL THE VEHICLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER WHERE THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO REPOSITION PARTS OF THE FUEL SYSTEM TO REMEDY THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 110,000. UPDATED 03/29/11 *BF THE CONSUMER STATED WHILE LETTING THE FUEL DRAIN INTO THE TANK IT BLEW BACK AS IF IT WERE PRESSURIZED. I OWN A 2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO WITH THE 5.3 ENGINE. I PURCHASED MY TRUCK BRAND NEW AND NOW HAVE APPROXIMATELY 115,000 MILES ON IT. RECENTLY, I NOTICED A KNOCKING SOUND COMING FROM THE ENGINE AND BROUGHT IT TO A GM DEALERSHIP THINKING IT WAS A PULLEY OR OTHER MINOR REPAIR. INSTEAD, I WAS INFORMED IT WAS A BAD CAM ROCKER ARM ROLLER BEARING. THEY PROCEEDED TO REPAIR THE ISSUE AND MY TOTAL BILL CAME TO $3,242.84. I DID SOME RESEARCH ON MY OWN AND FOUND THAT GM HAS BEEN AWARE THAT THIS PART IS DEFECTIVE ON 2005 THROUGH 2007 5.3 ENGINES, HOWEVER, THIS PART HAS NEVER BEEN RECALLED. WITH THE AMOUNT OF MILES I HAVE ON MY TRUCK (OVER 100,000), IT IS NO LONGER UNDER WARRANTY. IN MY RESEARCH, I LEARNED THAT THIS PART IS EITHER AN ENGINEERING DEFECT OR A SUPPLIED PART THAT GM DID NOT ADEQUATELY CONTAIN BEFORE SHIPPING THE BAD PRODUCT TO THEIR CUSTOMERS. AFTER NUMEROUS CONVERSATIONS WITH GM, THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEIR ENGINES BASICALLY DO NOT LAST OVER 115,000. I HAVE OWNED CHEVROLETS FOR OVER 36 YEARS AND HAVE NOT COME ACROSS ANY ENGINE ISSUES WHICH IS WHY I CONTINUED TO BUY THEM. EVEN AFTER CONFRONTING GM WITH MY FINDINGS, THEY ARE NOT WILLING TO REIMBURSE ME NOR ARE THEY WILLING TO RECALL THE DEFECTIVE PART. *TR
WHILE RUNNING AIR CONDITIONER , I SMELLED SMOKE AND THEN SAW SMOKE COME FROM UNDER THE PASSENGER SIDE DASH. I TURNED OFF THE BLOWER AND THE SMOKE STOPPED. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE. COULD COST SOMEBODY THEIR VEHICLE AND LIFE. *TR

WHILE THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH IN RAINY WEATHER CONDITIONS, THE VEHICLE HYDROPLANED AND THEN CRASHED INTO A CEMENT WALL ON A BRIDGE. THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT WOULD NOT ENGAGE PROPERLY AND CAUSED THE OCCUPANT TO MOVE FORWARD WITH FORCE. THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT RESULTED TO NO PERSONAL INJURY. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED OF THE INCIDENT. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN AUTO COLLISION CENTER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 58,000. THE VIN WAS UNAVAILABLE.
THE ABS SYSTEM HAS BEEN KICKING ON WHEN IT ISN'T NECESSARY. THE BRAKES SURGE WHEN COMING TO A STOP AND FEEL MUSHY. I HAVE ALREADY HAD THE BRAKES REPLACED AND THE DRUMS IN THE BACK ARE GOOD. I ONLY HAVE 70K ON THE TRUCK AND AS FAR AS I KNOW, SPEAKING WITH VARIOUS MECHANICS, THAT I SHOULDN'T BE HAVING THESE ISSUES. IT STARTED ALL OF A SUDDEN, DIDN'T GIVE ANY INDICATION THAT THERE WAS AN ISSUE. *TR

RUNNING THE A/C SMELLED THEN SAW SMOKE COMING FROM UNDER THE DASH ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. BLOWER QUIT WORKING. BLOWER THEN STARED WORKING BUT ONLY ON SPEEDS 1&3. *TR
WE HAD A RECALL IN THE PAST ON THE STEERING COLUMN RATTLING. THE DEALERSHIP REPAIRED IT AND IT HAS STARTED IT AGAIN AND IT IS WORSE THAN EVER. THE VEHICLE ONLY HAS 59000. MILES ON IT. AND WE WERE TOLD BY DAVIS CHEVROLET IN LEXINGTON NC THAT IT COULD NOT BE REPAIRED AGAIN. SO I WANTED TO FIND OUT WHAT IS GOING TO BE DONE ABOUT IT.
DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AT 65 MPH FRO APPROXIMATELY 2 HOURS. THE TIRES WERE DELAMINATING AND BLEW. ONE TIRE EXPLODED, WHILE THE OTHER HAD A BUBBLE (TREAD WAS SEPARATING FROM THE CASING. BOTH TIRE DOT # BF11KF112606. *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALERSHIP WHERE THE SWITCH WAS DEACTIVATED UNTIL THE PART ARRIVED; HOWEVER, THE HEATER WAS STILL TURNING ON BY ITSELF. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT SPOKEN WITH THE MANUFACTURER WHEN THE COMPLAINT WAS FILED. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 61,148.
2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. LETTER SENT FROM ATTORNEY ON BEHALF OF CONSUMER REGARDING THE QUALITY AND GOOD FAITH SALE OF VEHICLE PURCHASED FROM AN AUCTION *TGW ACCORDING TO LAWYER, THE VEHICLE WAS SALVAGED IN ANOTHER STATE AND IMPROPERLY TITLED IN MISSISSIPPI AND THE AUCTION COMPANY FAILED TO DISCLOSE THE INFORMATION. THE VEHICLE HAD A MULTITUDE OF PROBLEMS, BUT WAS SOLD AS A LIKE NEW VEHICLE. *JB
DRIVERS SIDE REAR AXLE AND TIRE CAME OFF THE VEHICLE, CAUSING 2006 SILVERADO TO WRECK. AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. WE WERE ON THE ENTRANCE RAMP TO I-95 WHEN SUDDENLY TRUCK TURNED TOWARD CONCRETE GUARD RAIL. AFTER HITTING RAIL HEAD ON AND SKIDDING ACROSS ENTRANCE RAMP HITTING RAIL ( SEVERAL TIMES) VEHICLE CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP. TIRE AND AXEL WERE (LEFT REAR-DRIVER SIDE) GONE. TRUCK IS TOTALED. AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY. *TR

THE POLICE AND FIRE DEPARTMENT ASSISTED WITH EXTINGUISHING THE FIRE. A POLICE REPORT WAS AVAILABLE. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE NEAREST DEALER. THE DEALER DID NOT GIVE SPECIFICS ON WHAT CAUSED THE FIRE, BUT STATED THAT THE FAILURE WAS WARRANTY ISSUE AND THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 10,000.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE PARKED, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WERE NOT WORKING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTICS OR REPAIR. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 42,000.
MY 2006 SILVERADO 2500 HD AIR BAG DID NOT DEPLOY DURING MY ACCIDENT ON JULY 28, 2010. I TRIED SENDING ALL INFORMATION IN THE MAIL BUT, YOU JUST SENT IT BACK TO ME. COPING THAT WAS SENT TO ME FROM GENERAL MOTORS OF THEIR EXPLANATION OF THEY ARE NOT THE ONES RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS BECAUSE THEY DIDN'T MAKE THIS PRODUCT. NOT TO MENTION THAT ONSTAR DIDN'T COME ON AS THEY SHOW ON THEIR TV ADS'. IF I HAD NOT REGAIN CONSCIENCE. DON'T KNOW WHEN THEY WOULD HAVE FOUND ME THERE WHERE I WENT OFF THE ROAD JUST 4 MILES FROM MY HOME. DON'T KNOW IF ANYONE WOULD HAVE THOUGHT OF CALLING ONSTAR ABOUT LOOKING FOR MY TRUCK. IF GM VEHICLES ARE SO SAFE AND LEAD US TO BELIEVE HOW? SAFE AND RELIABLE THEIR VEHICLES ARE. THEN WHY? THEY ARE NOT STANDING BEHIND THEIR PARTS NOW. THE VEHICLE WAS TOTAL AND THE ONLY THING THAT SAVED ME WAS MY SEAT BELT. EVEN DOE I WAS STILL BADLY INJURED FROM MY NECK TO MY TAIL BONE. GM DOESN'T CARE TO OWN UP TO NO KIND OF RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANYTHING. I'M STILL AFRAID TO DRIVE MY 2010 CAMARO BECAUSE IT HAS THE SAME EQUIPMENT AS THE 2006 PICKUP THAT I TOTALED. I DRIVE IT WHENEVER I HAVE NO CHOICE. WHEN THE DODGE TRUCK ISN'T HERE. EVERY OTHER WEEK WHEN MY HUSBAND NEEDS IT. OEM RECEIVER HITCH ON MY 2006 CHEVY 2500 HD FAILED. THE WELDS CRACKED AND BENT AT A 15 DEG ANGLE. TOWING A CAMPER WITH THE PROPER HITCH WELL WITHIN THE RECOMMENDED WEIGHTS. CHEVROLET REFUSED TO EXAMINE OR CORRECT THE PROBLEM BECAUSE THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF THE INITIAL WARRANTY. *TR

2006 CHEVROLET SILVERADO Z71, 30000 MILES, ABS "ENGAGING" AT LOW SPEEDS, UNEXPLAINABLE TIRE TREAD WEAR, VEHICLE PULLS , ROTATIONAL GRINDING NOISE. BROUGHT THE GM CERTIFIED DEALER/SERVICE. FRONT DRIVER'S WHEEL BEARING BAD. I ASKED FOR "OLD" PART AFTER $750 REPAIR FOR BEARING ( AND I NEEDED ALL NEW BRAKES AND ROTORS! MOST LIKELY DUE TO POOR FRONT END!!!)...DEALER EXPLAINED "CONDENSATION" AS THE CAUSE! ! ! ! ......REPLACED ONE , DEALER "KEPT " THE PART AND DIDN'T CHARGE ME THE $500 FOR IT, AND I PAID $250 FOR THE LABOR......HOWEVER,BOTH SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE, BOTH SHOULD BE GREASABLE, AND NOT SEALED, BOTH FOR FREE AND WARRANTEED! ! !....AND THIS PROBLEM SHOULD NOT BE AS RAMPANT AS IT IS!!!!---ITS DANGEROUS! MY 2006 CHEVROLET 2500 HD DIESEL HAS HAD A VAPOR LOCK ON THE FUEL FILTER @ LEAST 3 TIMES IN ONE WEEK. WHEN IT HAPPENS THE VEHICLE JUST SHUTS DOWN. THIS IS VERY UNSAFE AS YOU HAVE VERY LITTLE OR NO BREAKS AND STEERING. JUST MISSED A CAR THE FIRST TIME IT HAPPENED BECAUSE I COULD NOT STEER OUT OF HARMS WAY FAST ENOUGH. THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN REPAIRED OR DIAGNOSED AT THE TIME OF THE COMPLAINT. THE CONTACT HAD CONCERN OF THE POTENTIAL SAFETY RISK. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 65,000.

THE VEHICLE HAD NOT BEEN DIAGNOSED. THERE WERE NO PRIOR WARNINGS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 24000. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 27900.
STARTED MY TRUCK UP ON MAY 04 2010 AND NOTICED FUEL GAUGE SHOWED EMPTY. I HAD JUST FILLED IT UP THE NIGHT BEFORE. TOOK IT TO MY DEALER AND HE DETERMINED IT WAS A BAD SENDING UNIT. MY TRUCK HAD ABOUT 16000 MILES ON IT. TURN THE PROBLEM OVER TO GM WITH NO SATISFACTION. I THEN CHECKED THE INTERNET AND FOUND SEVERAL PROBLEMS OF THIS NATURE. WHEN THE REPAIR PEOPLE TOOK IT IN FOR REPAIR THEY FOUND EXTENSIVE CORROSION AND OTHER PARTS HAD TO BE REPLACED TO THE TUNE OF $900.00. I FEEL THIS IS DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND GM SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE. *TR
PLEASE NOTE MILEAGE ON THIS VEHICLE AT TIME PROBLEMS BEGAN WAS AT 37,000. BRAKE PEDAL WAS TRAVELING TO THE FLOOR AT SPEEDS BELOW 10 MPH CAUSING ABS LIGHT TO COME ON AND PEDAL TO MOVE UP AND DOWN. MORE ALLOWANCE IN STOPPING DISTANCE WAS REQUIRED. MAY 2010 - HAD TO INSTALL NEW BRAKE PADS IN THE FRONT AND SHOES IN THE REAR. THE ROTORS AND SLIDES WERE EXTREMELY CORRODED FOR A 4 YEAR OLD VEHICLE WITH 37,000 MILES. OCTOBER 2011 TOOK VEHICLE TO GM CERTIFIED SERVICE CENTER FOR THE CONTINUING ABS ISSUE. CORROSION WAS A MAIN FACTOR IN CAUSING THE SPEED SENSORS TO FAIL. DIAGNOSTIC SCAN SHOWED LEFT WHEEL SENSOR BAD. HOWEVER, ONCE REPLACED, THEY SOON DISCOVERED RIGHT WHEEL SENSOR BAD ALSO. BOTH SENSORS HAD TO BE DRILLED OUT DUE TO CORROSION. WHEN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT WENT TO REPLACE THE RIGHT WHEEL SENSOR, THE WHEEL SENSOR THEY HAD IN STOCK WAS DEFECTIVE. DEFECTIVE PARTS IN STOCK DOES SAY SOMETHING ABOUT THE PRODUCT. THE TRUCK WAS KEPT OVERNIGHT WHILE A NEW "SET" OF WHEEL SENSORS WAS ORDERED. COST OF DIAGNOSTIC WAS $74.50. SET OF WHEEL SENSORS WAS $505. LABOR, TAX AND "MISC CHARGES" TOTAL $313.50 FOR A GRAND TOTAL OF $893.19. THE MSRP ON THIS VEHICLE AT TIME OF PURCHASE WAS $34,000. OUR VEHICLES ARE GARAGED, KEPT CLEAN. WE ARE THE SOLE OWNER OF THIS TRUCK. WE DO NOT LIVE IN CHICAGO WHERE WE HAVE TO CHIP SALT OFF OUR VEHICLES. THIS IS THE FIRST VEHICLE WE HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED WITH THIS ISSUE; THEREFORE, WE FEEL THE PARTS ARE INFERIOR AND A RECALL SHOULD BE IN PLACE. THANK YOU. AFTER TALKING WITH GM CUSTOMER SERVICE CENTER, THERE WERE RECALLS ON OLDER VEHICLES 1999-2005 (CERTAIN MODELS) WITH THE SAME ISSUE, BUT NOTHING WAS NOTED ON MODELS FROM 2006 OR NEWER. THE GM CERTIFIED SERVICE CENTER STATED THAT THEY DO REPLACE ABS WHEEL SENSORS PRETTY FREQUENTLY. *TR
MY 2006 SILVERAUTO WITH THE DURMAX ENGINE AND ALISON TRANSMISSION. THE TRANSMISSION LINE HAVE BEEN LEAKING. I HAVE 60,000 MILES ON IT SO THE WARRANTY IS OUT. WHEN I TOOK IT INTO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE THEY WOULD NOT COVER THE LEAKS AS PART OF THE DRIVE LINE WARRANTY. WHEN I PURCHASED THE LINES FROM THE PARTS DEPARTMENT THEY INDICATED THAT THEY WERE SELLING A LOT OF THESE HOSES DUE TO LEAKS. IF THERE ARE THIS MANY LINES LEAKING I THINK CHEVROLET SHOULD REPLACE THESE FAULTY LINES AT THERE EXPENSE. ALSO I KNOW OF ONE OTHER 2007 MODEL THAT BURNED OUT THE TRANSMISSION DUE TO THESE LINES. BECAUSE THE TRANSMISSION FAILED CHEVROLET REPLACED THE TRANSMISSION AND THE LINES. *TR
WHEN COMING TO A STOP A SPEEDS OF 10 MPH OR LESS, BRAKE PEDAL GOES TOWARDS THE FLOOR AS IF THE ABS IS ACTIVATING, CAUSING LOSS OF BRAKING. IT OCCURS ON ALL TYPES OF DRIVING SURFACES AND IN ALL WEATHER CONDITIONS. PROBLEM HAS GOTTEN WORSE WITH TIME. DEALERSHIP SAYS THERE IS NO KNOWN PROBLEM... HOWEVER THE INTERNET SAYS DIFFERENTLY! TRACTION CONTROL SYSTEM ACTIVATES FOR NO APPARENT REASON ON DRY PAVEMENT. ACTIVATION TYPICALLY OCCURS AFTER COMPLETE VEHICLE STOP. ACCELERATION DURING SLOW SPEEDS OR AFTER A STOP IS IMPACTED. *TR
LOW SPEED ACTIVATION OF ABS BRAKING SYSTEM CAUSING EXTENDED STOPPING DISTANCES AND/OR NO STOPPING AT ALL. NO ABS SYSTEM CODES SET. NO ABS LIGHT COMES ON. DEALER CHECKED IT OUT AND SAID THE FRONT ABS SENSORS WERE BAD. I REPLACED BOTH SENSORS, WITH THE SAME PROBLEM EXISTING, IF NOT WORSE. THE LEFT SENSOR IS AVAILABLE, BUT THE RIGHT ONE WAS BROKEN DURING REMOVAL AND THROWN AWAY. I DID NOT KNOW I WOULD NEED IT. THIS HAPPENS EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS DRIVEN AND THE BRAKES APPLIED AT LOW SPEED TO COME TO A STOP. THERE WAS A RECALL FOR EARLIER MODELS OF MY VEHICLE AND I BELIEVE MY MODEL YEAR SHOULD BE INCLUDED AS WELL AS OTHERS. THIS IS A DANGEROUS SITUATION. I THINK IT SHOULD BE REPAIRED, RECALLED OR RESOLVED TO THE COMPLETE SATISFACTION OF ALL INVOLVED! *TR

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STRUT SYSTEM NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 45,000.

THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO A LOCAL REPAIR FACILITY WHERE THE CONTACT WAS AWAITING REPAIRS. THE POLICE ADVISED THAT THE AIR BAGS SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED UPON IMPACT. THE FAILURE MILEAGE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 88,508.

THE CONTACT SUSTAINED HIP AND PELVIC INJURIES ON THE RIGHT SIDE THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.

COMMAND SOLENOID WITH TECH2, WON'T OPERATE SOLENOID NOT OPERATING. REPLACE SOLENOID AND RETEST. SOLENOID NOW OPERATES BUT TC VANE PLACE STOPS/STICKS AT 69% AND WON'T MOVE. REMOVE AND REPLACE TURBOCHARGER POSITION SENSOR TO INSPECT. VANE CAM WON'T MOVE. TAC CASE #11223434. SEE RO FOR DETAILS. REPLACE TURBOCHARGER, CLEAR DTC, RELEARN TC POSITION AND RETEST."
