The contact stated that while driving the next day, the air bag inadvertently exploded and projected burning particles on his face and chest. The contact stated the air bag was filled with smoke. The contact stated he was able to drive the vehicle to his residence. The contact sustained injuries on his chest and on his face and sought medical attention. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The dealer and the manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 300,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 45 mph, the vehicle lost motive power without warning. The brakes and power steering failed. The vehicle was towed to the contact's father's residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 167,000.
Air bag recall. Dealer cracked dash doing recall
After buying this used truck from GM certified dealership having advanced inspection before we took home 3 months in First start of the day about 7AM, 5-10min into driving, no MIL light, truck engine shut off hard to pull over and I tried to restart but wouldn't start. After waiting an hour for a tow truck I tried once more and it fired up. Cancelled tow drove home fine. But it did it a few more random times while driving until Oct. now it sits. Its scary when theres no MIL indicating a problem, but this is a problem and safety during travel. It wont start after 7 month ownership ,MIL light is now on saying U0100. Bought 4/2021.

The contact stated that the air bag warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer where it was diagnosed with the air bag module needing to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had the vehicle serviced under NHTSA campaign number: 21V050000 (Air Bags) however, the failure occurred. The contact was relating the failure to an unknown recall. The manufacturer had not been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 35 MPH, the driver’s side front wheel detached. Due to the failure, the vehicle was towed to his residence where he inspected the vehicle himself. Upon inspection, the contact discovered that the driver’s side wheel hub had been welded to another piece of metal that was bolted to the vehicle. The contact discovered that the metal piece fractured causing the wheel to detach from the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The contact repaired the vehicle himself. The failure mileage was 154,195.
Takata Recall. The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number 21V050000 (Air Bags). After contacting the dealer, he was informed that the dashboard might be damaged during the recall repair. The contact was then informed that he had to sign a waiver to ensure that the dealer would not be held responsible for any damages to vehicle. The manufacturer was then notified of the issue and confirmed that the dealer would not be held responsible for any cracks or damages to the dashboard. The contact declined to sign the waiver and the vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the manufacturer should cover the cost of any damages to the dashboard. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.
WHEN I WAS DRIVING ON THE 405 FREEWAY MY DASH BOARD STARTED TO CRACK AND HAS BEEN CRACKING PIECES OF THE DASH HAVE FALLEN DOWN BY MY FEET BRAKE PEDAL AREA . THE DASH IS SLOWLY GETTING WORSE AND SCARES ME.
GM RECALL IS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET REPAIRED AND WHEN I CALL THE DEALERSHIP THERE JUST PLAIN RUDE
Called local dealer on 23 Apr 2021 to get appointment to complete safety recall of Takata airbag defect. Advised by dealer Larry Puckett Chevrolet. 2101 Cobbs Ford Rd. Prattville, Al. 36066 (Phone:334-285-9300 that no parts available. Estimate given was three to four weeks for parts. Followup end of May, Jun, Jul and now August 9. NO PARTS!!!!!!! THIS IS UNACCEPTIBLE! THIS IS NOT TIMELY RESOLUTION OF A POTENTIALLY SERIOUS PROBLEM. PLEASE INTERVENE WITH THIS DEALER TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE. Sincerely,

THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE PARTS WERE ON BACK ORDER. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
THIS RECALL, # 49152, WAS RECEIVED IN JULY, 2016. I TRIED TO SCHEDULE THE REPAIR WITH A LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER AND WAS TOLD THAT REPAIR PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. I CONTINUED TO CHECK EVERY FEW MONTHS AND ALWAYS RECEIVED THE SAME ANSWER. IN MARCH, 2021 I RECEIVED A NOTICE THAT PARTS WERE NOW AVAILABLE AND I COULD SCHEDULE THE REPAIR, WHICH I DID. WHEN I SCHEDULED THE REPAIR THE DEALER SAID THEY WOULD HAVE TO ORDER THE PART AND WOULD CALL WHEN IT ARRIVED. THE PART ARRIVED AND THE REPAIR WAS SCHEDULED FOR 4/22/21 AND I WENT TO THE SERVICE BAY AT THE APPOINTMENT TIME. THE SERVICE CLERK SAID THE REPAIR WOULD TAKE ABOUT 2 HOURS AND I COULD EXPECT TO PAY ABOUT $800.00. I SAID I THOUGHT RECALL REPAIRS WERE FREE AND HE SAID THE AIR BAG REPAIR WAS FREE, BUT THAT ALMOST ALWAYS THE TRUCK DASH CRACKED DURING REMOVAL AND GM WOULD NOT COVER THE DASH COST. AFTER SOME DISCUSSION WHERE HE REPEATED THAT MOST DASH REMOVAL RESULTED IN A CRACKED DASH AND AGAIN THAT GM WOULD NOT COVER THE COST, I LEFT. II DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THE COST OF THE AIRBAG REMOVAL AND REINSTALLATION IS NOT ENTIRELY INCLUDED IN THE RECALL REPAIR. PLEASE EXPLAIN WHY THIS IS THE CASE AND, IF IT IS NOT THE CASE, PLEASE HELP ME GET THE AIRBAG REPLACED. THANK YOU.
DASHBOARD IS CRACKED IN DIFFERENT AREAS. ALSO WHEN I TOOK THE TRUCK TO GET A RECALL FIXED (TAKATA AIRBAG) THE DEALER CRACKED IT IN 2 DIFFERENT AREAS. I COMPLAINED TO DEALERSHIP BUT THEY REFUSE TO REPLACE IT.

THE CONTACT CALLED CANNON CHEVROLET CADILLAC (69900 U.S. 82 W, GREENWOOD, MS 38930) WHERE HE WAS INFORMED THAT THE AIR BAG WOULD BE REPLACED AS STATED IN THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 256,000.

THE CONTACT STATED WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH, THE CONTACT LOST CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND CRASHED THE VEHICLE HEAD ON WHICH RESULTED IN NONE OF THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYING. THE CONTACT WAS THE ONE INJURED AND DID NOT SEEK MEDICAL TREATMENT. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A HEADACHE AND SORENESS OF WHOLE BODY. THE CONTACT STATED NO WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED. THE VEHICLE WAS DESTROYED AND TOWED TO TOW LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT INFORMED OF FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 135,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
MY 20007 SILVERADO CLASSIC 1500 HAS A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG MODULE . ITS A KNOWN PROBLEM FOR GM STEMING FROM A RECALL 09184C . MATERIAL OVER SENSING AND DIAGNOSTIC MODULE RETAINING MOISTURE . THIS RECALL STATES THAT MOISTURE WILL ENTER THE VEHICLES PADDING AND WICK ITS WAY TO THE AIR BAG MODULE LOCATED UNDER THE DRIVER SEAT .THUS CAUSING CORROSION AND FAILURE OF THE MODULE AKA SDM . I HAVE CONTACTED GM ABOUT MY PROBLEM AND THAT MY VEHICLE FALLS IN THE COMPLETE DISCRIPTION OF THE RECALL . I WAS INFORMED THAT MY VIN NUMBER WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE RECALL THEREFOR THERES NOTHING GM CAN DO FOR ME . I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO MY LOCAL GM DEALER AND MY PROBLEM WAS CONFIRMED BY THERE TECHNICIAN . HOWEVER IT APPEARS THAT THE PART TO REPAIR MY VEHICLE IS NO LONGER AVAILABLE THUS LEAVING ME WITH THE BURDON OF POTENTIALLY HAVING TO BUY ANOTHER VEHICLE . I DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW A CAR MANUFACTURER CAN NOT PROVIDE SOME FORM OF REPAIR OPTION AND SUPPORT FOR A VEHICLE THEY SELL TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THIS PROBLEM CONSTITUES A SAFTEY PROBLEM AND THEREFOR I AM SENDING THIS TO YOU.
In 2021, drove off the road inadvertently at 65mph, traveled about 200 yards across a ditch and thru scrub trees and came to rest when front bumper hit against a tree. NEITHER front air bags inflated.....both front air bags should be in this recall. Both seat belts on...I sustained minor head trauma as did my passenger which could have been prevented with air bag inflation. The truck was totaled and both my passenger and I are lucky to be alive. Once again, NEITHER front air bag inflated.....both front air bags should be in this recall.

KEY FOB NOT WORKING. PASSENGER DOOR CONTROLS NOT WORKING. WINDOW FOR PASSENGER DOOR NOT WORKING FROM DRIVESIDE CONTROL EITHER BUT CAN USE DRIVESIDE WINDOW. DOOR LOCK NOT WORKING ON PASSENGER SIDE. PASSENGER SIDE MIRROW TURN SIGNAL ALSO NOT WORKING. ALL THIS HAPPEN AFTER REPLACING DOOR SPEAKER
STILL NO REMEDY FOR THIS RECALL THAT WAS ISSUED IN 2016. TRUCK IS POTENTIALLY UNSAFE TO DRIVE WITHOUT A FIX FOR THIS RECALL OF THE TAMARA AIRBAG. SPOKE TO GM REPRESENTATIVE TODAY THAT THERE IS STILL NO PARTS OR FIX AVAILABLE.

THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL OUT ON THIS VEHICLE FOR SEVERAL YEARS NOW, I JUST LOOKED IT UP ON SAFERCAR.GOV AND IT SAYS THAT THERE IS AN UNRESOLVED RECALL OUT ON MY TRUCK. THERE ORIGINALLY HAS BEEN ONE OUT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. BUT NOW I JUST HEARD THAT AIR BAGS ON 2007 THRU 2014 ARE INCLUDED IN A RECALL. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW IF MY TRUCK IS INCLUDED IN A RECALL OR NOT.

I HAVE HAD AN ISSUE WITH MY 2007 CHEVY SILVERADO JERKING WITH A HARD THUMP WHILE ACCELERATING. AT FIRST IT WAS DIAGNOSES AS A FAULTY THROTTLE BODY. REPLACED THE THROTTLE BODY. NOW IT INTERMITTENTLY PULLS HARD WHEN ACCELERATING AT ANY SPEED. THIS CANNOT BE SAFE. DEALERSHIPS CANNOT FIGURE OUT THE ISSUE AND I AM HAVING TROUBLE GOOGLING ANY SPECIFIC REASON. MANY PEOPLE HAVE THIS SAME ISSUE WITH LITTLE TO RESOLUTION. THIS IS INTERMITTENTLY SO IT THE STABILITRAC AND TRACTION CONTROL LIGHTS COME ON AND OFF WITHIN MINUTES. IT WAS HAPPENING A FEW TIMES A WEEKS AND NOW IT IS HAPPENING A FEW TIMES A DAY. THIS CANNOT BE GOOD FOR THE SAFETY OF THE VEHICLE ON THE ROAD OR THE PEOPLE IN IT.

WHEN I TRY STARTING THE TRUCK IT MAKES A CLICKING SOUND LIKE IT WANTS TO TURN OVER AND THEN WON'T. SOMETIMES IT NEVER HAPPENS AND OTHER TIMES IT MAY TAKE THREE OR FOUR TIMES OF TRYING TO GET IT TO START BEFORE IT WILL. THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND CONTINUED TO STAY ON. TOOK IT TO A CHEVY DEALER AND WAS PLACED ON THE DIAGNOSTIC COMPUTER AND I WAS TOLD CODES FOUND WERE PO174 AND PO171. SMOKE TEST WAS PERFORMED ON EVAP SYSTEM AND INDUCTION SYSTEM. FOUND LEAKS AT THE PCV HOSE, PURGE VALVE HOSES AND PURGE VALVE IS STUCK OPEN. THESE WERE REMOVED AND REPLACED BOTH PURGE VALVE HOSES, PURGE VALVE AND PCV HOSE. $523.80 LATER THE PROBLEM IS STILL NOT FIXED.
Started my 07silverado and service airbag light came on and my passenger side seatbelt is difficult to clip
SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM LIGHT IS ON. IT TURNED ON AT A RANDOM TIME. I WENT TO WORK AND ON MY LUNCH BREAK IT APPEARED. I DID NOT HIT ANYTHING OR I DID NOT GET HIT BY ANYTHING. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN THE LIGHT TURNED ON.
2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 CLASSIC. WHEN I STARTED MY TRUCK THIS MORNING, THE BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR. BRAKE FLUID WAS ALL OVER THE DRIVEWAY. ONE OF THE BRAKE LINES HAD RUPTURED BECAUSE IT WAS RUSTED. THANK GOD I WASN'T DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY WHEN THE BRAKE LINE FAILED. RESEARCH SHOWS THAT GM AND NHTSA HAVE LONG BEEN AWARE OF THIS CRITICAL SAFETY PROBLEM. WHY HASN'T THERE BEEN A RECALL ISSUED?
