I BOUGHT A 2007 CHEVY. TRUCK /1500 4 DOOR CREW IN FEB. 2007 AND NOW HAVE 48,106 MILES (MOSTLY HIGHWAY MILES) AND HAD A BRAKE FAILURE IN FRONT BRAKES. I HAD THE FRONT ROTORS, PADS AND RIGHT CALIPER REPLACED ON 04/25/08 AT SUPREME CHEVY. THEY TOLD THE CALIPER LOCKED UP AND CAUSED THE DAMAGE TO THE BRAKES. CHEVY. TOLD ME THERE IS NO RECALL FOR THIS AND THEY HAVE NOT HAD ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS. I HAVE DRIVEN GM CARS AND TRUCKS ALL MY LIFE AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THIS BEFORE. SOME ONE IS GOING TO GET HURT OR WORSE IF THIS PROBLEM IS NOT ADDRESSED AND FIXED. I DO NOT FEEL SAFE DRIVING THIS TRUCK ANYMORE UNTIL CHEVY. TELLS ME THIS CHEVY. TRUCKS DON'T HAVE A SAFETY PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT BRAKES. I HOPE YOU CAN LOOK INTO THIS AND HELP WITH THE PROBLEM. I DON'T WANT ANYTHING BUT JUST TO BE TOLD THIS TRUCK IS SAFE TO DRIVE. TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHILE DRIVING 25 MPH DOWNHILL, THE STEERING COLUMN SHOOK VIOLENTLY WHEN THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE FRONT ROTORS FAILED. THE CONTACT HAD THE ROTORS RESURFACED. A FEW MONTHS LATER, WHILE DRIVING DOWNHILL AT AN UNKNOWN SPEED, THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE ROTORS NEEDED TO BE TURNED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT THAT TIME. THE CONTACT CALLED THE MANUFACTURER AND WAS ADVISED TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALER FOR INSPECTION. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 12,907 AND CURRENT MILEAGE IS 29,000. UPDATED 04/24/09. *LJ
I HAVE HAD PROBLEMS WITH THE ABS SYSTEM ON MY 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO CLASSIC, SINCE ABOUT THREE MONTHS AFTER I PURCHASED IT. I PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW. THE FIRST OCCURRENCE CAUSED AN ACCIDENT, BUT NO INJURIES. I REPORTED THE PROBLEM TO THE DEALER, THEY CHECKED THE "COMPUTER" AND SAID "THE COMPUTER DOES NOT HAVE ANY CODES, SO NOTHING CAN BE WRONG." THE BRAKES HAVE LOCKED-UP, NUMEROUS TIMES SINCE THE FIRST ACCIDENT. THIS HAS HAPPENED ABOUT 25-30 TIMES IN THE LAST 3 YEARS. IT IS AN INTERMITTENT PROBLEM, NEVER OCCURRING IN THE SAME CONDITIONS. I CONTACTED GENERAL MOTORS AND THEY SENT A REGIONAL SUPERVISOR IN TO LOOK AT THE REPORTS. HE GAVE THE SAME ANSWER AND BASICALLY SAID IF THE COMPUTER DOESN'T SHOW A PROBLEM THEN THEIR CANT BE A PROBLEM, AND THEY COULDN'T AFFORD TO BEGIN REPLACING PARTS THAT COULD CAUSE THE PROBLEM. THIS IS A SAFETY CONCERN AND SHOULD BE ADDRESSED. IT HAS HAPPENED AS RECENTLY AS 1 WEEK AGO. *TR
WE PURCHASED THIS VEHICLE NEW FROM A DEALER. THE TRUCK NOW HAS APPROX. 14,000 MILES AND THE TIRES NEED TO BE REPLACED. AFTER TAKING IT TO A MECHANIC I WAS TOLD THAT THIS MAKE HAS SOME ISSUES THAT CAUSE THE TIRE TO WEAR DOWN ON THE INSIDE. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO REPLACE THE TIRES AT 14,000 MILES. DEALERSHIP GAVE ANSWERS LIKE DEPENDS ON DRIVER, ROAD CONDITIONS, ETC. NONE OF THESE EXPLAIN THE PREMATURE WEAR OF THIS TIRE. I AM NOT ALONE IN THIS PROBLEM. *TR
THE SPEEDOMETER AND OTHER GAUGES ARE HARD TO SEE WITHOUT THE GAUGES BEING LIT UP. THE SPEEDOMETER AND OTHER GAUGES ARE HARD TO SEE WITHOUT THE DASH BEING LIT UP. ANY TIME IT IS NOT SUNNY OUT PRESENTS A HAZARD AS THE GAUGE CANNOT BE READ AT A GLANCE. THE DARK RED NEEDLE ON A BLACK BACKGROUND DOES NOT SHOW UP AND IS A DEFINITE HAZARD TO THE DRIVER. I REALLY LIKE MY TRUCK I JUST HAVE A VERY DIFFICULT TIME READING THE SPEEDOMETER. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING APPROXIMATELY 55 MPH, THE ENGINE WARNING INDICATOR BEGAN TO ILLUMINATE CONTINUOUSLY. THE ENGINE POWER WAS ALSO EXTREMELY SLOW. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER, WHO STATED THAT THE FUEL TANK CAP NEEDED TO BE TIGHTENED SECURELY AFTER REFUELING. THE FAILURE PERSISTED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER AND THE FAULTY FUEL TANK SENSOR WAS REPLACED AND REPOSITIONED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE DEFECT AND THEY OFFERED TO REIMBURSE FIFTY PERCENT OF THE REPAIR EXPENSE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 10,000. UPDATED 05/11/12*LJ THE DEALER FOUND A LARGE EVAP LEAK AND THE VENT SOLENOID CIRCUIT WAS STUCK OPEN. UPDATED 06/01/12
TL*THE CONTACT WAS VEHICLE SHOPPING FOR A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE AT THE DEALER, THE CONTACT NOTICED THAT THE REAR SEAT HEADREST WAS UNABLE TO BE ADJUSTED PROPERLY AND PROVIDED INSUFFICIENT SUPPORT FOR ANYONE OVER 5'8. THE CONTACT BELIEVES THAT THE FAILURE COULD LEAD TO WHIPLASH INJURIES IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH. HE STATED THAT WITH PREVIOUS MODELS, THE HEADREST COULD BE ADJUSTED ACCORDING TO HIS HEIGHT; HOWEVER, NEWER MODELS NO LONGER HAVE THAT OPTION. 2 MONTHS AFTER BUYING MY VEHICLE THE BRAKE ON MY VEHICLE HAD A BAD SQUEAL. WHICH HAPPENS WHEN IT IS VERY HUMID OUTSIDE. I WENT TO THE DEALER THEY SAID IT WAS WEATHER AND MY BRAKES GETTING RUN IN. 1 MONTH LATER THE SAME FROM THE DEALER NO PROBLEM WITH THE BRAKES, SERVICE TECH'S SAY IT LOOKS FINE. 1 MONTH AGO A MECHANIC AT MY WORK SAW PITTS IN MY BRAKE ROTORS. HE SAYS HE HAS NEVER SEEN A NEW VEHICLES WITH THAT MUCH DAMAGE ON A BRAKE ROTORS ON FURTHER INSPECTION. ALL FOUR ROTORS ARE PITTED. THIS IS A 2007 CHEVY SILVERADO LT CREW CAB 4X2. #2 THERE IS A JERKING MOVEMENT WHEN U ARE COMING TO A STOP AT A STOP SIGN ARE RED LIGHT. THE TRANSMISSION SEEMS TO WANT TO LET THE CAR KEEP GOING, TOLD BY DEALER THIS WAS NORMAL WITH MY VEHICLE. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE BACKING OUT OF A PARKING SPACE AT 15 MPH, THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL AND HAD TO USE BOTH FEET TO STOP THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY. HE DROVE TO GOODYEAR AND A TECHNICIAN TEST DROVE THE VEHICLE, BUT COULD NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE DEALER FOLLOWED SUIT, BUT COULD ALSO NOT DUPLICATE THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE AND CURRENT MILEAGES WERE 17,100. UPDATED 4/8/08 *CN THE CONSUMER STATED PEDAL DEPRESSED 4 TIMES WITHIN A 10 MIN PERIOD AND WOULD NOT MOVE. UPDATED 04/08/08 *TR
WHILE DRIVING AND COMING TO A STOP, A LOUD CLUNK NOISE COMES FROM THE REAR END. WITHIN 2-4- SECONDS AFTER STOPPING, IT FEELS LIKE SOMEONE HITS MY TRUCK FROM THE REAR END. YOU CAN ACTUALLY FEEL THE TRUCK MOVE FORWARD, BUT VERY SLIGHTLY. I BOUGHT THIS TRUCK NEW IN 2007, AND TOOK IT BACK TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS WITHIN THE FIRST YEAR OF OWNERSHIP. BUT WAS TOLD NOTHING WAS WRONG, AND NOW IT DOES IT EVERYTIME I DRIVE IT. I AM AFRAID THE REAR END WILL LOCK UP AND CAUSED ME TO LOSE CONTROL.
THE FRONT RIGHT INNER BRAKE PAD HAS BEEN PREMATURELY WEARING COMPARED TO THE OTHER PADS. LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER HAS BEEN ASKED TO ADJUST PADS UNDER WARRANTY. TECH SAID THAT THE VEHICLE CAN NOT BE ADJUSTED AND THAT THEY ARE WEARING WITHIN "NORMAL" TIME. BRAKE PADS ARE NOT LASTING MORE THAN 7 MONTHS AT A TIME DUE TO INNER PAD WEARING DOWN TO THE METAL BACKING WHILE THE OTHER PADS STILL HAVE 3/4 OF THEIR LIFE LEFT. THE FRONT PADS HAVE BEEN REPLACED APPROXIMATELY FOUR TIMES IN THREE YEARS. THE FRONT ROTORS HAD TO BE REPLACED TWICE IN THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME DUE TO THE SAME ISSUE.
2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO PICKUP TRUCKS HAVE A PLASTIC PIECE HOLDING THE TAIL LAMP IN PLACE. THIS IS THE ENTIRE LIGHT ASSEMBLY UNIT ON THE REAR OF THE TRUCK WHICH INCLUDES THE BRAKE LIGHTS, BACKUP LIGHTS, RUNNING LIGHTS, PARKING LIGHTS, EMERGENCY FLASHERS, TURN SIGNAL, WIRING HARNESS ETC., THE ENTIRE REAR LIGHT HOUSING ASSEMBLY. FACTORY WORKERS "OVER" TORQUED THIS PLASTIC PART AT THE FACTORY. DURING NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS, THIS PART BREAKS AND THE ENTIRE TAIL LIGHT FALLS OFF AND DANGLES JUST INCHES ABOVE THE PAVEMENT AS THE ELECTRICAL WIRES ARE STILL ATTACHED TO THE VEHICLE. THIS IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION, ESPECIALLY IF THIS HAPPENS AT NIGHT. THIS HAPPENED WITH THE RIGHT TAIL LIGHT AT 20,000 MILES WHICH WAS REPLACED, AND AGAIN WITH THE LEFT TAIL LIGHT AT 46,000 MILES WHICH CHEVROLET REFUSES TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR. THIS IS CERTAINLY A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION WHICH COULD CAUSE INJURY OR DEATH IF ON A BUSY FREEWAY AT NIGHT. BE CAREFUL, AS YOU HAVE NO WAY OF KNOWING THIS WHILE YOU ARE DRIVING. THE ENTIRE TAIL LIGHT, WHEN IT FALLS OUT, IS HANGING AND DANGLING ABOUT JUST INCHES ABOVE THE PAVEMENT. IMAGINE THIS AT 65 M.P.H. ANOTHER DANGEROUS SCENARIO WOULD BE IF THE TAIL LIGHT SHATTERS THIS DEBRIS COULD VERY WELL HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE, MOTORCYCLE OR PEDESTRIAN WHICH COULD RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH. OR....IF THE WIRE BROKE AND SEPARATED FROM THE LIGHTING ASSEMBLY UNIT, THIS COULD VERY WELL GAIN SPEED FLYING THROUGH THE AIR AND HIT A PERSON, ANOTHER VEHICLE OR BUSINESS/RESIDENCE WINDOW/GLASS. I CANNOT STRESS ENOUGH HOW DANGEROUS THIS IS. CHEVROLET NEEDS TO RECALL EVERY CHEVROLET AND FIX THIS DANGEROUS PROBLEM. IT IS A WELL KNOWN PROBLEM WITH THESE VEHICLES AND CHEVROLET WILL NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY. *TR
HESITATION ON ACCELERATION. WHILE MERGING ONTO AN INTERSTATE HIGHWAY PRESSED THE ACCELERATOR TO RAPIDLY INCREASE SPEED BUT THE VEHICLE HESITATED CAUSING ME TO HAVE TO CONTINUE DOWN THE SHOULDER AND ACTUALLY STOP TO AVOID A STALLED VEHICLE ON THE SHOULDER. I HAVE TAKEN MY VEHICLE TO TWO DIFFERENT DEALERS TO INVESTIGATE THE HESITATION ON ACCELERATION BOTH HAVE STATED THAT THIS IS NORMAL OPERATION FOR THE 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. ALTHOUGH I DIDN'T HAVE AN ACCIDENT WITH THIS PARTICULAR INCIDENT I HAVE NOTICED THIS HESITATION DURING NORMAL DAY TO DAY DRIVING. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE. *TR
FEB. 21, 2008, MY WIFE AND MYSELF WERE INVOLVED IN A ACCIDENT DURING AN ICE STORM. OUR TRUCK FISH TAILED AND PLOWED THROUGH A HSY GUARD RAIL AT AN ANGLE OF APPROX 60 DEGREES. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT WORK. IT THEN BOUNCED OFF A SECOND GUARD RAIL IN THE OUTSIDE OF THE OPPOSITE LANE AND SPUN THE TRUCK AROUND AND HEADED FOR THE MIDDLE GUARD RAIL AND PARKED. THE AIR BAGS DID NOT WORK A SECOND TIME. SO, THE INJURY TO OUR NECKS AND UPPER TORSO WAS MORE SEVERE BECAUSE OF THE AIR BAGS NOT WORKING. THE SEAT BELTS STRAIN INJURED US. WE HAD LEASED A 2007 SILVERDO LT EXTENDED CAB WITH WARRANTY AND GUARANTEES. I WENT ONLINE AND CHECKED THE SAFETY RATING. SHOCKED, THIS IS WHY I AM MAKING THIS COMPLAINT. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHILE DRIVING 30-35 MPH, THE SPEED DOES NOT INCREASE ON THE VEHICLE, EVEN WHEN THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL IS DEPRESSED TO THE FLOOR. THIS IS A SAFETY HAZARD WHEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALER, BUT NOTHING WAS REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER ACKNOWLEDGED THE FAILURE, BUT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS SUPPOSED TO PERFORM IN THAT MANNER. THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 2,800 AND FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 73.
COMPANY HAS A 2005 AND 2007 CHEVROLET LIGHT TRUCKS. WE HAVE EXPERIENCED PROBLEMS ON BOTH TRUCKS WITH THE SPARE TIRE HOIST. ONE TRUCK HAD TO B TOWED BECAUSE THE HOIST WOULD NOT OPERATE. THE DEALER, HARVEY'S IN SHAWNEE, OK TOLD ME THAT MY PROBLEM WAS COMMON ON CHEVROLET AND GMC LIGHT TRUCKS. AS OF THIS DATE THIS PROBLEM HAS COST US OVER $300. *TR
THE PASSENGER SEAT BELT LOCKS IN POSITION TO WHERE THE PASSENGER CANNOT MOVE AND WILL TIGHTEN MORE UNTIL THE SEATBELT IS REMOVED AND REATTACHED. THIS IS HAVING TO BE DONE NUMEROUS TIMES WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION. THE DEALER HAS REPLACED THE BELT 3 TIMES BUT HAS NOT CORRECTED THE PROBLEM. GM IS NOW SAYING THAT THE BELT IS DESIGNED THAT WAY BECAUSE OF CAR SEATS POSSIBLY BEING PLACED IN THAT POSITION. THEIR OTHER ANSWER WAS TO ADD A SEATBELT EXTENSION TO HELP THE PROBLEM. THIS MOVES THE BELT TO A VERY UNSAFE POSITION ON THE PASSENGER BODY. THE CONNECTION OF THE LAP BELT AND THE SHOULDER BELT IS ALMOST IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PASSENGER BODY PUSHING THE SHOULDER BELT OVER THE ARM RATHER THAN THE SHOULDER. WE WILL NOT USE THIS DEVICE. THIS HAS NOT CAUSED AN ACCIDENT OR INJURY BUT IF THE PASSENGER IS REMOVING THEIR BELT EVERY 30 MIN. WHILE THE VEHICLE IS IN MOTION IT COULD HAVE BAD RESULTS. *TR

I AM A FIRE INVESTIGATOR WORKING FOR AN INSURANCE COMPANY. I RECENTLY INVESTIGATED A FIRE LOSS INVOLVING A 2007 CHEVY SILVERADO CLASSIC WHICH ORIGINATED BENEATH THE BENCH SEAT AND INVOLVED THE ELECTRICAL WIRING, WHICH IS ATTACHED TO THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE SEAT. FORTUNATELY THE 85 YEAR OLD OWNER OF THE VEHICLE WAS NOT IN THE TRUCK AT THE TIME OF THE FIRE. *TR
2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WIPER BLADES ICE UP DURING COLD SNOWY WEATHER, CAUSING POOR VISIBILITY AND IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO REMOVE THE ICE. CHECKED PARTS STORE AND GM DEALER FOR ARTIC/WINTER BLADES AND THEY ARE NOT AVAILABLE. CREATES VERY DANGEROUS CONDITIONS DURING SNOW. *TR
THE TRUCK HAS A CONTINUOUS PROBLEM WHEN TRYING TO STOP, IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO STOP WHEN NEEDED, I HAVE NOTIFIED MY CHEVY SERVICE DEALER MANY TIMES 8 TO BE EXACT, IT HAS HAD MANY REPAIRS PADS, ROTORS, CALIPERS TO THE BRAKES EVERY TIME I BRING IT IN. IT STARTED AT 10,000 MILES, AND CONTINUES EVERY 5000-8000 MILES. PADS, ROTORS REPLACED AT 10,386 -17,892- 22,171- 22,171 - 28,722 AND LAST WEEK AT 34,362 MILES CHEVY KEEPS REPLACING THE BRAKES, ROTORS OR CALIPERS BUT THE TRUCK IS STILL VERY HARD TO STOP WHEN DRIVING, IT IS A SAFETY HAZARD AND A DANGER TO MYSELF AND ANYONE ELSE ON THE ROAD AT THE SAME TIME. I WANT TO REPORT THIS PROBLEM AS I SEE MANY OTHER HAVE ON THE 2007 CHEVY SILVERADO. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT WAS DRIVING 35 MPH WHEN THE VEHICLE STALLED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT WAS UNABLE TO RESTART THE VEHICLE. EACH TIME THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER THEY WERE UNABLE TO REPAIR THE PROBLEM AND RETURNED THE VEHICLE TO THE CONTACT UNREPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS CONTACTED AND OFFERED NO ASSISTANCE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 20,000 AND THE CURRENT MILEAGE WAS 45,000.
DRIVING ON DRY ROADS AT NIGHT. GOING THROUGH S CURVE AT ABOUT 40 MPH. SPEED LIMIT WAS 45MPH. APPLIED BRAKES TO SLOW FOR TRAFFIC AND BRAKE PEDAL WENT TO FLOOR AND DID NOT STOP THE TRUCK. THIS IS THE SECOND OCCURRENCE IN ABOUT TWO WEEKS. TRUCK IS AT DEALERSHIP FOR INSPECTION AND REPAIRS. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT FLAMES ERUPTED FROM THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT APPROXIMATELY SIX HOURS AFTER HE PARKED THE VEHICLE. AS A RESULT, THE FIRE DESTROYED THE VEHICLE. THE INSURANCE INVESTIGATOR WAS UNABLE TO DETERMINE THE CAUSE OF THE FIRE. AS OF FEBRUARY 11, 2008, THE DEALER HAD NOT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 8,000.
TAIL LIGHT SHORTING OUT DUE TO DEFECTIVE WIRING HARNESS DEALER REPLACED FUSE THREE TIMES BUT DID NOT FIX PROBLEM. PARTS NOT AVAILABLE FROM GM-ON BACK ORDER. *TR
TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHILE MAKING A LEFT TURN AT 5 MPH, THE POWER STEERING AND BRAKES FAILED WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT DEPRESSED THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH EXCESSIVE FORCE AND STEERED THE VEHICLE OFF THE ROAD. THE ROAD CONDITIONS WERE DRY. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER AND THEY STATED THAT THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM FAILED. I TOOK MY NEW CHEVY TRUCK INTO THE DEALER FOR SOME NEW FACTORY EQUIPMENT (BUG DEFLECTOR AND BED LINER) TO BE INSTALLED BY THEM. WHILE THE DEALER HAD MY 2007 CHEVY TRUCK THEY LOADED 2008 POWER TRAIN SOFTWARE INTO IT'S COMPUTER WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. THE 2008 SOFTWARE CHANGED THE WAY MY TRUCK RUNS. THE POWER TRAIN NOW HAS A SPEED LIMITER ON IT AND THE STABILITY CONTROL WAS CHANGED. IT WILL NOT GO AS FAST IT AS USE TO GO BEFORE THE CHANGE. I WAS TOLD BY THE DEALER AND GM THEY WOULD NOT PUT MY TRUCK BACK THE WAY IT WAS AS WHEN I BOUGHT IT. THEY TOLD ME THAT THE REASON WAS THE GOODYEAR TIRES AND THE TRUCK DESIGN WERE UNSAFE WITHOUT THE 2008 SOFTWARE INSTALLED AND WOULD NOT CHANGE MY TRUCK BACK TO THE 2007 CONFIGRATION . I HAVE NOT GOTTEN ANY RECALL OR SAFETY NOTICES ABOUT THIS ISSUE. I THINK GM AND THE DEALER MADE A MISTAKE AND DO NOT WANT TO CORRECT IT. BETWEEN 5 + 10 MILES IN THE DRIVE THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHUT DOWN FOR A INSTANCE (EVERYTHING WENT BLACK). THE ENGINE STAYED ON BUT THE TRUCK STOPPED FOR THAT INSTANCE. I WOULD GUESS SINCE THE TRANS IS ELECTRICAL WAS THE REASON THE TRUCK STOPPED WHEN THE ELECTRICAL WENT OUT. THIS OCCURRED 3-4 TIMES SO I HEADED STRAIGHT FOR THE DEALER. THE NAV SYSTEM ALSO WENT OUT SEVERAL TIMES WITH OUT THE ENTIRE ELECTRICAL GOING OUT. IT DID NOT OCCUR AGAIN ON THE WAY TO THE DEALER, POSSIBLY SINCE IT WAS WARMED UP. NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS EVER CAME ON. HAVE YOU SEEN THIS BEFORE OR HAVE A CLUE WHAT COULD CAUSE THIS? THE DEALER IS SAYING THEY COULD NOT DIAGNOSE THIS INTERMITTENT PROBLEM. I JUST BOUGHT A USED 2006 SILVERADO 1500 FROM A DEALER. WENT HOME WITH A FULL TANK OF GAS, WEEK LATER WENT TO FILL IT UP AND THE NEEDLE STOPPED HALFWAY BETWEEN 3/4 AND FULL AND IT WOULD NOT LET ME PUT IT IN. TRUCK HAD 14650 MILES ON IT WHEN IT STARTED AND NOW HAS 16450. STILL UNDER WARRANTY AND HAS BEEN TO THE DHOP 6 TIMES AND THEY HAVE REPLACED EVERY PART OF THE FUEL SYSTEM AND STILL NO BETTER. HAVE DRIVEN WITH 2 MECHANICS AND A SERVICE MANAGER AT MAROONE CHEVROLET AND THEY HAVE NOTICED THIS PROBLEM BUT STATE "IT IS NORMAL OR NOT THAT BAD". THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AS I TOW A BOAT A COUPLE TIMES PER MONTH THAT IS 3500 LBS. THE TRUCK IS RATED TO PULL 7800 LBS. I AM WORRIED THIS COULD CAUSE BRAKE FAILURE/PREMATURE BRAKE COMPONENT WEAR. THE VEHICLE WAS IN THE SHOP 5 TIMES FOR THIS PROBLEM AND IT STILL CONTINUES. NOW THE BRAKES SQUEAL WHEN THEY ARE APPLIED AND TIRES ARE WEARING ON THE INSIDE (A FRIEND WITH THE SAME TRUCK IS ALSO WEARING ON THE INSIDE). THE DEALER REPLACED FRONT ROTORS AFTER TURNING THEM ONCE, REPLACED THE FRONT AND REAR PADS, REPLACED REAR DRUMS, AND REBALANCED THE TIRES. CONDITION STILL REMAINS. *TR
