The dashboard is breaking into small pieces. The dealership said this is only cosmetic and refused to fix it. After finding this is a common issue it was recommended to submit this form.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO BE SERVICED UNDER NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 21V052000 (AIR BAGS) AT KEY CHEVROLET (660 S MAIN ST, MIDDLETOWN, CT 06457). THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED BY THE DEALER THAT THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WOULD REMAIN ILLUMINATED. THE MECHANIC ALSO DIAGNOSED THE FAILURE AS THE FRONT PASSENGER'S SIDE IMPACT SENSOR NEEDING TO BE REPLACED UNDER FAILURE CODE (V0004). THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REPAIR WAS NOT GUARANTEED TO REMEDY THE AIR BAG FAILURE LIGHT. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE HOWEVER, NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. ENGINE STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING. PULLED CODES AND FOUND U0109 FUEL PUMP MODULE COMMUNICATION. THERE IS ALREADY A RECALL BUT MY VEHICLE VIN DOES NOT APPLY. ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES WITH THE PLACEMENT OF THIS MODULE CAUSING CORROSION INTERNALLY SHORTING PRINTED CIRCUIT BOARD.
I WENT TO THE CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP IN TERRELL TEXAS (PLATINUM CHEVROLET) 1212 W MOORE AVE, 75160 FOR A SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT JUST TO HAVE THEM TELL ME THAT THEY WERE OUT OF STOCK FOR THE REPLACEMENT PART. THE FACT THAT THEY SCHEDULED ME FOR AN APPOINTMENT WAS CONFIRMATION THAT THEY SHOULD HAVE HAD THE PARTS. I HAD TO TAKE TIME OFF FROM WORK FOR NOTHING.

DRIVING FREEWAY SPEED LOST THROTTLE/ACCELERATION CONTROL AND POWER, GAGES WENT OUT OF CONTROL DROPPING TO ZERO COMING BACK UP AND THEN DROPPING AGAIN, RADIO SHUT OFF AND CLOCK RESET. LOCKS WERE LOCKING AND UNLOCKING ON THEIR OWN THEN TRUCK SHUT OFF. HAD TO COAST TO SIDE OF FREEWAY. NO HAZARDS LIGHTS WOULD WORK NO BLINKER. ONCE PARKED ON SIDE OF FREEWAY TURNED OFF IGNITION AND TRUCK WOULD NOT START NO POWER NO NOTHING. HAD TO DISCONNECT BATTERY THEN CONNECT AGAIN BEFORE IT WOULD START BACK UP. WAS TOLD ENGINE WAS REBUILT BY CAR DEALERSHIP I BOUGHT IT FROM CARFAX DOESNT SHOW THAT BUT DOES SHOW A POSSIBLE ODOMETER ROLL BACK AND A NEW AIRBAG RECALL WAS ISSUED. I JUST GOT CARFAX REPORT TODAY HAVNT HAD THE TRUCK FOR EVEN A YEAR.

THREE WEEKS LATER, THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTIFICATION FOR NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER:21V050000(AIR BAG). THE CONTACT CALLED LESTER GLENN CHEVROLET (398 NJ-37, TOMS RIVER, NJ 08753) WHERE HE NOTIFIED THEM OF A FAILURE AND MADE AN APPOINTMENT TO SERVICE THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER HAD YET TO BE NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE HAD YET TO BE REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 158,000.

Yes the warning light came on before the air bag was replaced, If the waring light comes it indicates that the airbag is faulty, why is it going to cost me $791 to repair the sensor. Is this not a problem that should be resolved, as the airbag wont work if the sensor is not fixed. The air bag was replace At George Nahas on January 8th. At the time we were not told that the airbag would not work because the light was on. It was much later that a friend (mechanic) told me that the bag would not work if the light was on. Thus we contact Feldman and were told that the cost would be $791. Why replace the bag is it not going to work

THIS VEHICLE HAS AN OUTSTANDING RECALL SINCE MAY 2016. MANUFACTURER RECALL # 2049151, NHTSA 16V381. THIS REPAIR IS STILL NOT COMPLETE. DEALER TELLS ME THAT PARTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE YET AND THERE IS NO ETA FOR REPAIR PARTS. WHAT IS A REASONABLE TIME FRAME TO EXPECT THAT MY VEHICLE WILL BE MADE SAFE?
FUEL PUMP FLOW CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT 1500/2500, SIERRA 1500/2500) WAS NEVER REPLACED BY THE DEALER, VEHICLE STALLED WHILE DRIVING, ALMOST LOST CONTROL WHILE DRIVING DUE TO THE ENGINE STALL. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY WANT TO CHARGE MET TO REPLACE THE FUEL PUMP FLOW CONTROL MODULE THAT WAS SUPPOSE THE BE FIXED DURING THE RECALL. I JUST BOUGHT THIS TRUCK FROM THE CHEVY DEALER A MONTH AGO.
2008 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 FIRE ON 11/20/20 I WAS DRIVING 3 MILES TO MY FRIENDS HOUSE AND AS SOON AS I PULLED UP, I SMELT FIRE. I GOT OUT TO FIND OUT THAT MY PASSENGER HEADLIGHT AND EVERYTHING UNDER THE HOOD WAS ON FIRE!! AS I STARTED TO RUN FOR HELP, I TRIPPED OVER A LARGE SIZE CURB AND LANDED ON MY FACE. MY NECK, SHOULDERS AND BACK HAVE BEEN DIFFICULT TO MOVE SINCE THIS HAPPENED. I TRIED TO LIFT THE HOOD BUT THAT WAS TOO HOT TO DO SO, I RAN INTO MY FRIENDS HOUSE SCREAMING FOR A FIRE EXTINGUISHER!! AS I WAS RUNNING BACK TO REMOVE AS MUCH AS I COULD OUT OF THE TRUCK HER HUSBAND CAME OUT WITH THE FIRE EXTINGUISHER AND SHE CAME WITH THE HOSE. I NOW I CAN BARELY MOVE MY NECK, MY BACK IS IN SEVERE PAIN, AND MY RIBS HURT IMMENSELY. AS I SURVIVED THIS LIFE THREATENING ORDEAL, I STARTED DOING BACKGROUND CHECKS ON THIS TYPE OF VEHICLE AND 124 DEATHS HAVE OCCURRED BECAUSE OF THIS GM PROBLEM. HOW IS THIS NOT A CLASS ACTION LAW SUIT?!!
STARTED MY VEHICLE TO MOVE IT IN THE DRIVEWAY THIS PAST SATURDAY AND BEFORE I WAS ABLE TO SHIFT INTO GEAR THE DRIVER AND PASSENGER AIRBAGS DEPLOYED WITHOUT WARNING. NO COLLISION, ETC. THE VEHICLE WASN'T EVEN OUT OF PARK YET. SOUNDED LIKE A SHOTGUN WENT OFF IN THE CAB OF THE TRUCK. LUCKILY I WAS NOT LEANED FORWARD ATTEMPTING TO SHIFT GEARS OR I WOULD HAVE CAUGHT THE FULL FORCE OF THE DEPLOYMENT TO MY FACE. TOOK QUITE A HIT TO THE CHEST AND STOMACH AREA. EXTREMELY FORTUNATE THIS HAPPENED IN THE DRIVEWAY AND NOT WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS IN TRAFFIC. UPON RESEARCH FOUND A PENDING RECALL WHICH HASN'T BEEN RESOLVED YET BY NHTSA. THIS ISSUE IS REAL AND EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. I COULD HAVE BEEN SERIOUSLY INJURED OR INJURED OTHERS IF THIS HAPPENED WHILE DRIVING. I AM NOW STUCK WITH 2 DEPLOYED AIRBAGS AND IF I WISH TO REPAIR SEVERAL THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO FIX PROBLEM. GM NEEDS TO MAKE THIS RIGHT AND REPAIR. IF THE MANUFACTURER TAKATA HAS IDENTIFIED A PROBLEM WITH THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT SYSTEM PROVIDED AND UTILIZED BY GM THIS SHOULD BE REPAIRED BY GM.

A BATTERY ICON COMES ON MY DASH WITH A MESSAGE ABOUT THE BATTERY CHARGING SYSTEM NEEDS TO BE SERVICED. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF THE VEHICLE IS STATIONARY OR DRIVING THIS COMES ON FOR LONG ENOUGH TO READ THEN GOES OFF. THE TIRES PRESSURE SENSOR IS GIVING A MESSAGES AS WELL ABOUT NEEDING SERVICING. THE DRIVER'S SEATBELT LATCH HAS STOPPED ALLOWING THE CLIP TO ENTER I WAS PARKED AT THE TIME THIS HAPPENED. I HAVE SINCE THEN TRIED TO SPRAY WHITE LITHIUM TO GET IT MOVING SINCE I DID NOT HAVE WD40.THERE WAS NO SUCCESS. I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET THE AIRBAG RECALL FIXED.

THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT UNDER 40 MPH, HE BLACKED OUT, VEERED OFF THE ROAD INTO TWO DITCHES AND HIT A CONCRETE BARRIER WHERE THE VEHICLE CAME TO A STOP. THE AIR BAGS FAILED TO DEPLOY. THE CONTACT SUSTAINED A BROKEN PELVIS, HIPS, THAT REQUIRED MEDICAL ATTENTION. A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INSURANCE TOW LOT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT YET TAKEN TO A DEALER. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT HE SAW ON THE NEWS ABOUT A RECALL AND CHECKED HIS VIN AND NOTICED THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V383000 (AIR BAGS). THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 207,000. *DT *TR*JB
TWO CRACKS IN THE DASH HAVE FORMED. ONE ON THE DRIVERS SIDE AND ONE ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE. THE CRACK ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE TRAVELS FROM THE DASH AIR BAG TO THE TOP JOINT BETWEEN THE TWO DASH PIECES. THE CRACK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE TRAVELS FROM THE JOINT BETWEEN THE TWO DASH PIECES TOWARDS THE DRIVER ALONG THE LEFT SIDE OF THE INSTRUMENT PORTION OF THE DASH. NOTICE THE CRACK ON THE DRIVERS SIDE WHEN SITTING STATIONARY IN MY DRIVEWAY AND THEN FINDING THE CRACK ON THE PASSENGERS SIDE.

THE AIRBAG LIGHT ON THE DASH CAME ON TODAY 10/15/2020 WHILE DRIVING TO THE STORE AND THE AIRBAG IS A TAKATA AIRBAG AND SCARED IT MY DEPLOY AND CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.I'VE DID RESEARCH ABOUT THE DEFECT BUT NO REMEDY WAS GIVEN.DIDNT RECEIVE A LETTER IN THE MAIL FROM THE MANUFACTURER TO TAKE THE VEHICLE TO FIX IT.
PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL DUE TO TAKATA'S SUPPLY TO GM HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED THEY ARE ARE DEFECTIVE AND GM WAS GIVEN TILL AUGUST 2017 AND NOTHING TO DATE HAS BEEN DONE TO RECTIFY THIS DEFECTIVE FINDING. UPON PREVIOUS CALLS TO GM THEY ARE DISMISSING THIS RECALL; HOWEVER, THE RECALL NOTICE IS ON MY LICENSE PLATE RENEWAL FORM, SEARCHABLE ON THE INTERNET AND THE NHTSA WEBSITE AND YET NO ONE IS HOLDING GM ACCOUNTABLE FOR EVERY 2007-2008 GM OWNER (CERTAIN 2007-2008 CADILLAC ESCALADE, ESCALADE ESV, ESCALADE EXT, CHEVROLET AVALANCHE, SILVERADO 1500, SUBURBAN, TAHOE, GMC SIERRA 1500, YUKON, AND YUKON XL VEHICLES) WHOM ARE AT RISK.
IN MY GARAGE, I RANDOMLY STARTED VEHICLE AND THE DASH INDICATOR LIGHT INDICATES A PROBLEM WITH THE AIRBAG SYSTEM AND STAYS ON. THIS HAPPENED A FEW MONTHS AGO AND STILL INDICATES A PROBLEM EVERY TIME THE VEHICLE IS STARTED AND USED.
