Air bag light is in and I had a lifter failure on my motor. Bed and rockers are rotting out
SWERVED TO MISS A DEER AND HIT AN EMBANKMENT AND A CEMENT CULVERT ON A HIGHWAY AT NIGHT, WAS BY MYSELF. NEITHER OF MY AIRBAGS DEPLOYED AND I HIT MY CHEST EXTREMELY HARD ON THE STEERING WHEEL AND I AM IN SEVERE PAIN FROM MY RIBS. HAVE SEVERE HEMATOMA AND BRUISING.
CAR WAS PARKED. DOOR LOCKED WITH REMOTE WHILE PERSON WAS IN THE CAR WITH DOORS AND WINDOWS CLOSED. UNABLE TO OPEN DOORS MANUALLY FROM INSIDE OR OUTSIDE. UNABLE TO MANUALLY UNLOCK DOORS FROM INSIDE OR ROLL WINDOWS DOWN. PERSON INSIDE WAS TRAPPED AND UNABLE TO GET OUT OF THE CAR. PUSHING THE DOOR UNLOCK BUTTON DID NOT WORK, NOR DID MANUALLY ILFTING THE DOOR LOCK. ONLY WAY OUT WAS BY UNLOCKING THE CAR WITH THE REMOTE.
PLEASE FINALIZE THE DECISION ON RECALL OF TAKATA AIRBAGS. I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR SEVERAL YEARS FOR AN OUTCOME. EVERY TIME I CHECK ON THE RECALL, I AM ADVISED (WHETHER IT BE BY GM OR NHTSA) THAT THE RECALL IS "INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE." APPARENTLY, GM FILED A PETITION FOR INCONSEQUENTIALITY AND THE DETERMINATION OF THAT PETITION HAS BEEN HANGING IN LIMBO FOR YEARS. PLEASE EITHER APPROVE IT OR DENY IT. WELL OVER A YEAR AGO, I CONTACTED GM AND THEY INSISTED THAT THE VEHICLE IS SAFER TO DRIVE. MEANWHILE, CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS ARE OCCURRING DUE TO NUMEROUS US DEATHS RELATED TO THE AIRBAGS. NHTSA HAS NOT MADE A DETERMINATION. I WENT SO FAR AS TO CONTACT MY STATE ATTORNEY'S OFFICE OVER A YEAR AGO AND THEY COULD NOT COMMENT. PLEASE RESOLVE AND CAUSE GM TO ADVISE CONSUMERS. THANK YOU!
Cracked dashboard extending from air bag compartment. Cracked dashboard extending from drivers side windshield up to instrument cluster. This truck spends most of its time in the garage and has less than 100,000 miles. First crack appeared around 40,000 miles and second around 88,000 miles.
I WAS MOVING THE TRUCK IN THE DRIVEWAY, I GOT OUT THE TRUCK TO RETRIEVE SOMETHING FROM THE REAR AND WHILE THE TRUCK WAS STILL RUNNING I CLOSED THE DOOR AND BOTH DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAGS DEPLOYED.

The contact owns a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated that while her son was driving at an unknown rate, he fell asleep behind the wheel and hit a tree. The passenger-side air bag did not deploy upon impact; the contact stated that was uncertain if any other airbags were deployed in the crash. The police were called and a police report was filed. The contact's son was not injured and did not receive medical attention. The vehicle was towed from the scene by her insurance provider to an independent mechanic. The contact recently received a recall notice for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V052000 (AIRBAGS) which she linked to the failure. The dealer nor the manufacturer had yet to be notified of the failure. The vehicle had been destroyed. The failure mileage was unknown.
MY VEHICLE WAS IN MOTION ONE DAY AND I WAS DRIVING ON THE INTERSTATE AND ALL POWER IN THE TRUCK WAS GONE THE RADIO RESET THE GAUGES STARTED TO GO UP AND DOWN AND THE AIRBAG LIGHT WAS FLASHING AND SAYING SERVICE AIRBAG. I FIGURED IT WAS A ELECTRICAL PROBLEM SO I GOT A NEW BATTERY AND IT STILL DID IT SO I I PUT A NEW GROUND WIRE AND IT STILL CONTINUED TO DO IT AND GOT ALL NEW BATTERY CABLES AND STILL NOTHING AND WHEN IT ALL RESETS AND I TURN IT OFF I HAVE TO JIGGLE THE POSITIVE WIRE FOR IT TO START
The contact owned a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado. The contact stated her son was driving at approximately 35 MPH, the vehicle went off the roadway and hit a tree on the front end on the passenger side. The driver's side airbag deployed, however, the passenger side air bag did not. The contact recently received a recall letter from the manufacturer for NHTSA Campaign Number: 21V052000 (Air Bags). The contact stated that her son did not remember any warning lights being illuminated. The contact's son sustained back injuries and neck injuries as well as lacerations to his brows and forehead and eyes. The police arrived on the scene and wrote an incident report. The contact's son was driven to seek medical attention. The vehicle was towed to an impound lot and declared a total loss by the contact's insurance provider. The manufacturer had been informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 108,000.
The frame of my vehicle is rusted out almost completely.I am concerned about my safety and the safety of others if I drive it on the highway ,I have taken great care with my truck I only have around 70,000 miles on it and a frame should last a lot longer than this one has, and I have read other peoples complaints about this vehicle also,I would appreciate any help you can offer me.I have no files to upload or any accidents to report I’m just extremely concerned about driving this vehicle with the frame in the condition it’s in.Thank You

THE CONTACT ALSO STATED THAT THE VEHICLE INDEPENDENTLY STARTED AFTER THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE CHECK AIR BAGS WARNING LIGHT WAS ILLUMINATED CAUSING AT GREAT CONCERN. THE CONTACT STATED THAT ITS A MANUFACTURER DEFECT. THE CONTACT CALLED REGISTER CHEVROLET (14181 CORTEZ BLVD, BROOKSVILLE, FL 34613, (352) 597-3333) AND INFORMED THE DEALER OF THE FAILURE. THE DEALER INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS OUT OF WARRANTY AND TO CONTACT THE MANUFACTURER FOR ASSISTANCE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 216,000.

HI THIS TRUCK HAS BEEN A NIGHTMARE WORST TRUCK I EVER OWNED I HAVE SUNK OVER 5K INTO IT IN REPAIRS THE AIR BAG SERVICE LIGHT WENT ON OVER A YEAR AGO WEN I FIRST GOT THE TRUCK MY GARAGE TOLD ME THERE WERE RECALLS ON IT I TOOK IT TO A DEALER THEY FIXED 1 BUT REFUSED TO FIX THE AIR BAG RECALL LIGHT MY GARAGE TOLD ME ITS UNSAFE AND DEALER SHOULD REPAIR MY GARAGE SED METAL COULD KILL ME AND BAG COULD GO OFF AT ANY TIME I TOOK THE TRUCK TO SPURR CHEVY IN BROCKPORT AND HARTWAY CHEVEY IN MEDINA AS WELL AS CHEVY DEALER IN ROCHESTER AND BATAVIA ALL TOLD ME THERE IS NO FIX AND TO KEEP DRIVING I DID AND THINGS JUST GOT WORSE I KEEP GETTING STRANDED AND THE TRUCK LOOSES POWER BECAUSE THE CONSTANT WARNING SERVICE AIR BAG LIGHT I HAD TO CALL AAA AND GET TOWED A BUNCH AND GET JUMP STARTS I HAVE A 18 MONTH OLD CHILD THIS TRUCK IS NOT SAFE AND THIS IS EFFECTING THE TRUCKS COMPUTER THE COMPLETE MUFFLER FROM ENGINE BACK INCLUDING CONVERTERS WAS REPLACED AT DEALER BY PREVIOUS OWNER PASSED INSPECTION FIRST YEAR I HAD IT NOW IT WILL NOT PASS GET MESSAGES LIKE ECM NOT COMMUNICATION CODES FOR DEALER ETC I TOOK IT TO DEALER IN BROCKPORT THEY RESET COMPUTER CODES WERE CLEAR FOR 2 HOURS BY TIME I GOT TO INSPECTION SHOP ALL CODES WERE BACK THIS THING IS DANGEROUS I SMELL ODD ELECTRIC SMELL BY AIR BAG ALMOST LIKE SOMETHING BURNING AND ANOTHER PROBLEM I HAD THE DAMB WHEEL BERINGS ON BOTH SIDES WENT THE ONE SIDE STARTED MAKING A NOISE I TRIED TO GET HOME TURNED ON TO MY RD AND THE WHOLE FRONT WHEEL BREAK ROTOR AND ALL LUGS CAME OFF WITH BEARING I WENT SKIDDING 400 FEET DOWN THE ROAD THE DAM BEARING IS JUST PRESSED IN WHEN THEY GO THE WHOLE FRONT FALLS OFF YOU CAN NOT STEER I HAVE FIXED EVERYTHING ON THIS TRUCK AND STILL NOT SAFE TO DRIVE NEW BREAKS ROTORS PADS TIRES RIMS FUEL PUMP SENDING UNIT ALL NEW AC ALL NEW EXAHUST EVERYTHING IS NEW BUT THE DAM AIR BAG IS MALFUNCTIONING I AND
I RECEIVED NOTIFICATION THAT MY PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG IS DEFECTIVE. (MAY 2016). I'VE BEEN FOLLOWING THIS FOR 3 YEARS. I CALLED GM TODAY AND WAS INFORMED IT IS STILL PENDING AND REMEDY IS NOT YET AVAILABLE. I CALLED NHTFA AND THE COMPLAINT REPRESENTATIVE WAS VERY SHORT AND LACK CONCERN FOR MY COMPLAINT. I SAID SO THIS COULD TAKE 10 YEARS, AND HE SAID HOWEVER LONG IT TAKES.

THE CONTACT WAS ALSO INFORMED THAT THE AIR BAGS, DRIVER AND PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT PRE-TENSIONERS, AND THE AIR BAG CONTROL MODULE DEACTIVATION MODULE NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 28,000.

DOOR LOCK ACTUATORS DO NOT ALWAYS WORK FIRST IT WAS THE PASSENGER REAR THEN DRIVER REAR NOW THE PASSENGER FRONT IS NOT WORKING WITH THE RESEARCH I HAVE DON'T I HAVE COME TO THE CONCLUSION IT IS A VERY COMMON PROBLEM EVEN WITH LOW MILEAGE TRUCKS OF THIS MODEL YEAR. THE ISSUE IS NOT ONLY ANNOYING BUT CAN CREATE A DANGEROUS ENVIRONMENT.
TAKATA RECALL-THERE HAS BEEN A RECALL SINCE MAY 27, 2016 AND STILL AS OF JULY 18, 2019 THERE IS NO REMEDY YET
5.3 MOTOR LIFTERS ARE GOING OUT BECAUSE OF THE FUEL MANAGEMENT BAD LIFTERS
TAKATA RECALL THREE YEARS AGO (JULY 2016) I RECEIVED A SAFETY RECALL NOTICE FROM CHEVROLET STATING THAT MY TRUCK WAS INVOLVED IN GM RECALL 49192 (NHTSA RECALL 16V383) FOR THE TAKATA AIRBAGS. THE LETTER STATED I WILL BE NOTIFIED WHEN THERE ARE PARTS AVAILABLE TO REMEDY MY VEHICLE. THREE YEARS LATER, I HAVE NEVER BEEN CONTACTED AND THE THE STATUS OF THE RECALL STILL LISTED AS INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER HAS FAILED TO REMEDY THIS SAFETY RECALL IN A TIMELY MANNER.
TAKATA RECALL IT HAS BEEN OVER 3 YEARS SINCE THE RECALL AND THE STATUS IS STILL "INCOMPLETE. REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE" WHEN WILL GM COMPLETE MY RECALL AND GET THE REMEDY? GM RECALL # 49152
WHEN I TRIED TO GET THE EMISSIONS DOWN ON MY VEHICLE. I WAS NOTIFIED OF THE RECALL. THE AIRBAG LIGHT IS ON AND HAS BEEN ON FOR ABOUT 5 YEARS. NO OTHER ISSUES WITH VEHICLE.
RECALL 09184 RECENTLY MY SERVICE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED AND TOOK VEHICLE TO GM SERVICE SUNSET CHEVROLET SUMNER WASHINGTON. THEY INFORMED ME THAT THE SDM NEEDS TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE OF EXCESSIVE CORROSION AND COMPONENT FAILURE. WAITING TO CONDUCT REPAIRS, I DISCOVERED A RECALL THAT PERTAINED TO THE SENSOR RETAINING MOISURE DUE TO ACOUSTIC PADDING COVERING THE COMPONENT, BUT ONLY COVERS VEHICLES REGISTERED IN SPECIFIC STATES, WA NOT BEING ONE OF THEM. WILL THIS RECALL BE EXTENDED TO MY VEHICLE? THIS IS A VERY COSTLY REPAIR THAT COULD HAVE BEEN PREVENTED IF I THE OWNER NEW I COULD HAVE PREVENTED IT BY FOLLOWING THE PROVIDED INSTRUCTIONS IN THE RECALL. IF IT WILL NOT BE EXTENDED TO MY VEHICLE IS THERE A PROCESS OR ACTION I CAN TAKE TO HELP OFF SET THE REPAIR COST?
TAKATA RECALL MY TRUCKS SERVICE AIRBAG LIGHT CAME ON, AND I WAS SOON AFTER INFORMED OF A RECALL WITHOUT A REMEDY INVOLVING THE PASSENGER AIRBAG INFLATORS.
CYLINDER #4 HAS FAILED. SEVERAL MECHANICS HAVE STATED THAT THEY SEE SEVERAL OF THESE FAILURES WITH ENGINES EQUIPPED OR PROGRAMMED WITH THE ACTIVE FUEL MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS. MY ENGINE FAILURE OCCURRED UNDER NORMAL CIRCUMSTANCES, 55MPH ON A FARM TO MARKET ROAD TRANSITIONING FROM FLAT ROADS ONTO A SLIGHT RISE WHEN THE VEHICLE STARTED RUNNING VERY NOTICEABLY ROUGH. I PULLED OVER AND THE ENGINE UNBALANCE WAS VERY APPARENT.
MY DASHBOARD STARTED CRACKING AND ONE THEM IS BY THE AIR BAG.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND WAS NOT ABLE TO CONFIRM WHEN THE PARTS WERE TO BECOME AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. I NEED TO MAKE COMPLAINT ABOUT MY AIRBAGS NOT BEING FIXED IN A TIMELY MANNER COULD SOMEONE TELL ME IF CHEVROLET PLANS TO FIX THE AIRBAGS I WAS CONTACTED BY A FORM FROM THEM ALMOST 2 YEARS AGO?
ADDITIONALLY, A SMALL NUMBER OF 2007-2012 MODEL YEAR VEHICLES THAT INCLUDE; 2008-2013 CHEVROLET AVALANCHE, 2008-2009 CHEVROLET COLORADO VEHICLES; 2007-2013 CHEVROLET SILVERADO, 2008-2014 SUBURBAN, AND TAHOE VEHICLES; 2008-2013 GMC SIERRA AND 2009-2012 YUKON VEHICLES; 2008-2009 GMC CANYON VEHICLES; 2009-2010 HUMMER H2, H3 AND H3T VEHICLES; AND 2008-2009 SATURN VUE AND 2009 OUTLOOK VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN SERVICED WITH A CHASSIS ELECTRONIC MODULE THAT COULD HAVE INTERNAL CONTAMINATION, CAUSING AN ELECTRICAL SHORT IN THE MODULE. IF THE MODULE EXPERIENCES AN ELECTRICAL SHORT, THE VEHICLE COULD DISPLAY A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT, STALL, OR FAIL TO START. IF THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCES THIS CONDITION AND STALLS WHILE IN MOTION, THERE COULD BE AN INCREASED RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH. MY VEHICLE HAS STALLED MULTIPLE TIMES WHILE DRIVING AS WELL AS FAILED TO START. WHEN THESE SYMPTOMS OCCURRED THEY ARE ACCOMPANIED BY A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FOR A U0109 CODE (LOSS OF COMMUNICATION WITH FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE). I BELIEVE THAT MY VEHICLE, ALTHOUGH THE VIN IS NOT LISTED, IS AFFECTED BY NHTSA RECALL BULLETIN NUMBER 14515 AS QUOTED ABOVE.
"TAKATA RECALL" IT HAS BEEN ALMOST TO YEARS SINCE I WAS FIRST INFORMED ABOUT THE AIRBAGS BEING A SAFETY ISSUE. MY LETTER FROM GM STATED THAT GM WAS WORKING ON THE ISSUE AND THAT I WOULD BE CONTACTED WHEN THERE WAS A RESOLUTION. I WAS ALSO TOLD AN OPTION WAS TO NOT HAVE ANYONE SIT IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT. AGAIN, IT HAS BEEN ALMOST 2 YEARS. GM HAS FAILED TO PROVIDE ME WITH A RESOLUTION IN A TIMELY MANNER.
HALF OF THE MIDDLE LEAF SPRING ON BOTH SIDES CAME OUT.ONE IN 2018 AND ONE IN 2019 TRUCK WAS GOING 30 TO 50 MPH.VERY DANGEROUS!!!

THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 63,000.

NO FUEL FROM FUEL PUMP, WAS RUNNING CUT-OFF WOULD NOT RE-START,LUCKILY I HAS JUST STOPPED FOR A SODA.

THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DETERMINED THAT THE CHASSIS ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE WAS CONTAMINATED AND NEEDED REPLACEMENT. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER FOR DIAGNOSTIC TESTING. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 114,000.
