THE DASH BOARD STARTED WITH A SMALL CRACK, NOTICED THE CRACK WHEN I GOT INTO MY VEHICLE, DON'T RECALL THE EXACT DATE BUT HAPPENED A YEAR OR TWO AGO. SOMETIME IN JULY 2016 I GOT INTO MY VEHICLE AND NOW THE CRACK HAS GOTTEN WORSE. BOTH TIMES WHEN I NOTICED THE CRACKS MY VEHICLE WAS PARKED.

TAKATA RECALL - MY RECALL STATEMENT FROM GM / CHEVORLET SAYS, AND I PARAPHRASE, "FOR THE TIME BEING DO NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO RIDE IN THE FRONT PASSENGER SEAT". THIS PRESENTS A PROBLEM IN THAT I AM EXPERIENCING LOSS OF USE. THE VEHICLE WAS SOLD AS BEING A 6 PASSENGER VEHICLE AND I AM UNABLE TO SAFELY USE IT AS SUCH. THEY HAVE BEEN UNABLE TO PROVIDE A SOLUTION AND OR CORRECT THE SAFETY ISSUE SINCE THE RECALL. I DESERVE TO BE COMPENSATED FOR THE LOSS OF USE AND TO BE PROVIDED A LIKE KIND VEHICLE TO USE UNTIL THEY ARE ABLE TO CORRECT THE SAFETY ISSUE.

I CHECKED WITH THE LOCAL CHEVY DEALER AND THE LOCAL GM DEALER, BOTH STATED THAT THE PARTS ARE NOT IN YET. IT'S BEEN A YEAR NOW, WHAT GIVES ? IF IT WAS A SAFETY RECALL THEN THE VEHICLE MUST BE UNSAFE.

TAKATA RECALL. GM RECALL NUMBER 49151. I WAS NOTIFIED (BY MAIL) IN JULY 2016 THAT "A DEFECT WHICH RELATES TO MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY EXISTS IN CERTAIN GM 2008 MODEL YEAR CHEVROLET SILERADO LD VEHICLES." IT WAS MY UNDERSTANDING THAT GM HAD UNTIL AUGUST 2017 TO DETERMINE IF MY VEHICLE WOULD RECEIVE PARTS TO REMEDY MY VEHICLE. I HAVE NOT BEEN CONTACTED AGAIN. I CALLED THE DEALER ONCE AND THEY SAID MY VEHICLE IS SAFE TO DRIVE - AS IT IS ALSO STATED IN THE JULY 2016 NOTICE. I BELIEVE IT IS UNREASONABLE TO WAIT THIS LONG FOR RESOLUTION. I AM SCARED TO HAVE PASSENGERS IN MY VEHICLE AND I AM NOT COMFORTABLE SELLING A POTENTIALLY DEFECTIVE VEHICLE TO ANOTHER PERSON. IT REDUCES THE VALUE OF MY TRUCK AND POSSIBLY MAKES ME LIABLE FOR INJURIES IF I SELL IT TO SOMEONE ELSE. I NEED MY AIRBAG REPLACED IMMEDIATELY.
