TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V381000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PARTS DO TO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED THE RECALL NOTICE OVER A YEAR AGO. THE DEALER (BEATY CHEVROLET CO, 9615 PARKSIDE DRIVE, KNOXVILLE, TN 37922 (865) 693-7712) WAS CONTACTED AND CONFIRMED THAT THE PARTS WERE NOT AVAILABLE FOR THE RECALL REMEDY. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A POSTCARD FROM TK HOLDINGS, ALERTING HIM THAT THEY FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
SINCE SUBMITTING MY PREVIOUS SAFETY COMPLAINT, MY "SERVICE AIRBAG SYSTEM" MESSAGE IS NOW DISPLAYED CONTINUOUSLY AND LONGER INTERMITTENTLY DISPLAYED. I HAVE ALSO RECEIVED WRITTEN CORRESPONDENCE FROM TAKATA ANNOUNCING THEIR CHAPTER 11 FILING AND CONFIRMATION THAT MY VEHICLE MAY HAVE A DEFECTIVE AIRBAG. THE NOTICE ALSO ADVISED ME TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT WITH A LOCAL CAR DEALER TO GET THE DEFECT REPAIRED AT NO COST TO ME. I SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT ON 10-30-2017 FOR THE REPAIR WORK BUT WAS TOLD BY THE DEALERSHIP THAT THEY COULD NOT COMPLETE THE REPAIRS AS "GM HAS NOT ISSUED A FIX YET". WHAT IS TAKING GM SO LONG TO ADDRESS THIS CLEAR, WELL DOCUMENTED SAFETY THREAT? IT HAS BEEN AT LEAST A YEAR SINCE MY VEHICLE WAS ADDED TO THE RECALL. SHOULD I NOT DRIVE THE VEHICLE? CAN THE AIRBAG BE DISABLED? GM IS NOT OFFERING ANY TIMEFRAME FOR RESOLUTION NOR ARE THEY PROVIDING GUIDANCE ON WHAT CAR OWNERS SHOULD DO WHILE THEY FINALIZE A SOLUTION. I DO NOT HAVE THE MONEY TO PAY FOR THIS OUT OF POCKET AND DO NOT HAVE AN ALTERNATIVE FORM OF TRANSPORTATION.
"TAKATA RECALL" I CONTACTED BOTH GM AND THE LOCAL GM DEALERSHIP ABOUT RECALL 49151 AND PRESENTLY THERE IS NO REMEDY OR FIX SUPPLIED BY GENERAL MOTORS FOR THIS RECALL. SEEMS THAT NO DECISION HAS BEEN MADE SO WE ARE ALL IN LIMBO AS TO THE RECALL.
TAKATA RECALL HAVE NOT BEEN REPLACED
TAKATA RECALL RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF SAFETY RECALL IN JULY 2016. AS OF OCTOBER 26, 2017 I HAVE STILL BEEN UNABLE TO HAVE THE DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS REPLACED. THERE HAS BEEN NO ACCIDENTS OR INJURIES BUT WANT THEM REPLACED. I LIVE THE HOUSTON AREA, KNOWN FOR HOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS WHICH MAKE THIS PROBLEM WORSE.
TAKATA INFLATORS: RECALL NOTICE RECEIVED JULY 2016. HAVE CHECKED WITH DEALERSHIPS SINCE 10-19-16 AND THEY SAY THEY HAVE NO PARTS TO FIX THE RECALL AND DO NOT HAVE DATE WHEN PARTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. HAVE RECEIVED ANOTHER NOTICE THAT T K HOLDINGS HAVE FILED FOR BANKRUPTCY CHAPTER 11. NO ACCIDENT BUT RECALL NOT FIXED.
THE NOTIFICATION FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE AIRBAGS WAS RECEIVED PRIOR TO THE OCTOBER 2017 MAIL OUT NOTIFICATION REGARDING TK HOLDINGS INC., CHAPTER 11. I VISITED THE DEALERSHIP WHERE I PURCHASED THE TRUCK AND REQUESTED THE AIRBAGS BE REPLACED. THEY WOULD NOT REPLACE THEM. ON MY NEXT SERVICE (OIL CHANGE) FOR THE TRUCK, I MADE THE REQUEST AGAIN FOR THE AIRBAGS TO BE REPLACED AND IT WAS NOT DONE. I LATER NOTICED A CRACK IN THE DASHBOARD PANEL AND BROUGHT THAT TO THE ATTENTION OF THE DEALERSHIP. NOTHING WAS DONE. THE DEALERSHIP IS BOB HEMBREE CHEVROLET IN GUNTERSVILLE, ALABAMA. I NOW RECEIVE THIS NOTICE AND WOULD LIKE TO TAKE ACTION TO GET THE AIRBAGS REPLACED AND THE DASH REPAIRED.

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH, THE AIR BAG INDICATOR ILLUMINATED WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT TAKEN TO THE DEALER. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 40,000.
TAKATA RECALL. I BROUGHT MY PICKUP TO CHEVROLET DEALER BUT THEY HAS KEPT TELLING US THERE IS NO REPAIR FOR THE AIR BAG ISSUE. THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS WAS NOT TO USE THE CAR!!
TAKATA RECALL- NO REMEDY AVAILABLE. MY "SERVICE AIRBAGS" LIGHT IS ON AND NEED TO FIX THIS.
TRAVELING UNDER 10 MPH IN NEUTRAL, BOTH SIDE AIR CURTAINS DEPLOYED. TRAVELING ON DIRT ROAD. NO POT HOLE, ROCK OR BUMP INVOLVED. NO WARNING OF DEPLOYMENT.
WHILE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS, TRUCK HAD MASSIVE ELECTRICAL ISSUES WHICH CAUSED THE TRANSMISSION TO DOWNSHIFT TO 2ND GEAR. I ALMOST LOST CONTROL. WHILE THIS WAS HAPPENING, THE DOOR LOCKS CYCLED ON AND OFF OVER AND OVER AS WELL AS THE DOOR CHIMES COMING ON CONSTANTLY. HVAC DEFAULTED TO FULL HEAT FROM AIR CONDITIONING MODE. STABILITRACK SYSTEMS SHOWED INOPERATIVE AS WELL AS ABS SYSTEM. THE RAPID DOWNSHIFT FROM CRUISE TO 2ND GEAR CAUSED TIRES TO LOCK UP. I ALMOST LOST CONTROL. IF IT WOULD HAVE BEEN WET OR SLIPPERY, I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO MAINTAIN CONTROL. THE VEHICLE ENGINE REVVED TO 4-5 THOUSAND RPM, AS IT DOWNSHIFTED AND MY SPEED DROPPED LIKE I WAS LOCKING THE BRAKES. I COULD HAVE BEEN REAR ENDED AND THE DECELERATION CAME ON WITH NO BRAKE LIGHTS, AS IT WAS HAPPENING WITH THE TRANSMISSION RAPID DOWNSHIFT. I CONTACTED GM VIA THEIR CHAT LINE, REFERENCE [XXX]. THEY TOLD ME IT WAS 8 YEARS OLD AND BOUGHT OVER-SEAS SO I WAS OUT OF LUCK FOR HELP WITH REPAIRS. IT IS PRESUMABLY CAUSED BY FAULTY BATTERY CABLES. THIS CONDITION IS REPORTED REPEATEDLY ON THE INTERNET I.E. YOUTUBE AMAZON ETC. THESE PARTS ARE NOT NORMAL WEAR AND TEAR COMPONENTS AND SINCE THEY CAUSE MASSIVE SAFETY RELATED CONTROL ISSUES THEIR MANUFACTURING QUALITY IS IN QUESTION. I WANT TO REPORT THIS ISSUE TO HELP PREVENT SOMEONE ELSE POSSIBLY HAVING AN INJURY TO THEIR LOVED ONES BECAUSE OF A KNOWN CONDITION THAT COULD BE REPAIRED WITH A 125.00 PART. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER BUCKALEW CHEV IN CONROE TX. AND THEY SAID IT WAS THE BATTERY CABLES. I HAVE THAT INVOICE. I HAVE THE TRANSCRIPT FROM THE INITIAL CHAT WITH GM. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE DOOR OPENED INDEPENDENTLY. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO DIAMOND AUTO GROUP (768 WASHINGTON STREET, AUBURN MA, 01501) WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE DRIVER'S SIDE EXTERIOR DOOR HANDLE FRACTURED AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED DUE TO THE COST OF REPAIRS. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE; HOWEVER, THE VIN WAS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY RECALLS. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 20,660.
"TAKATA RECALL"-I'VE BEEN TOLD BY THE DEALERS THAT THE AIR BAG ISN'T BEING MADE AVAILABLE TO THEM YET,THE RECALL NOTICE I RECEIVED SAID THE MANUFACTURER AND DEALERS HAD UNTIL AUGUST 31ST TO COMPLY WITH THE RECALL REQUIREMENTS TO REPLACE THE AIR BAGS AND WHILE EVERYONE IS SAYING IT'S OK I WORRY EVERYDAY I DRIVE MY VEHICLE.THE DEALER TELLS ME THEY HAVE AIR BAGS BUT NONE FOR THE RECALL PROGRAM AND DUE TO THE BANKRUPTCY THEY WON'T GET PAID.
DASH IS CRACKED OVER PASSENGER AIR BAG ,ALSO CRACKED IN CENTER OF DASH, AND CRACKED ON DRIVER SIDE.
AT 75MPH ON TOLL ROAD AT NIGHT, SUDDENLY THE LIGHTS (ALL EXTERNAL & INTERNAL) WENT DARK. HAZARD LIGHT WOULD NOT WORK, ENGINE QUIT, BELL WENT OFF (DOOR-KEY IN IGNITION BELL), RPM SURGED. WAS ABLE TO GET OFF ROAD AND WAITED 10 MINUTES AND TRUCK STARTED. DROVE OFF, GOT TO 60 AND SAME THING HAPPENED. WAITED 30 MINUTES AND TRUCK WAS OK EXCEPT WHEN BRAKES APPLIED -DOOR/KEY BELL WENT OFF. DEALER HAD TRUCK FOR THREE DAYS AND COULD NOT DUPLICATE. WENT TO UTUBE AND TYPED IN ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS-2009 SILVERADO AND SEVERAL PAGES OF THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM APPEARED.CALLED DEALER TOLD THEM TO REPLACE THE BATTERY GROUND CABLE AND TO CHECK THE MEGA FUSE. SO FAR THE TRUCK IS RUNNING OK (INCIDENT HAPPENED IN JULY 2017) SEEMS LIKE THE BACK YARD MECHANICS KNOW MORE ABOUT HOW TO FIX THIS PROBLEM. THIS IS SERIOUS, DRIVING AT NIGHT AT 75 AND LOSING ALL ELECTRICS IS AN ACCIDENT WAITING TO HAPPEN. THE MANUFACTURE NEEDS TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THE POOR QUALITY GROUND CABLES; THIS SHOULD BE A RECALL!!!
WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY THE DOOR LOCKS WILL SUDDENLY GO ON AND OFF SEVERAL TIMES AND THE TRUCK LOSES POWER TRANSMISSION SHIFTS OUT OF GEAR SEAT BELT LIGHT COMES ON INSTRUMENT PANEL NEEDLES GO ERRATIC. DEALERS SAY IF WE CAN'T MAKE IT DO IT WHEN WE'RE THERE THEY DON'T KNOW WHAT TO FIX NEED HELP SOON.
RECALL ON AIRBAGS
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKING. IT HAS ALREADY CRACKED IN THREE PLACES. ONE PLACE JUST ABOVE THE PASSENGER AIR BAG.
SAFETY BULLETING 14515 ' CHASSIS ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE INTERNAL CONTAMINATION ' 2007-2014. MY 2009 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500 IS HAVING A PROBLEM THAT THE ELECTRIC GOES OFF AND ON WHEN DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY AFTER HITTING THE BRAKE PEDAL. THIS IS INTERMITTENT AND DOES NOT HAPPEN ALL OF THE TIME. IT SEEMS VERY DANGEROUS, SOMETIMES WHEN IT HAPPENS THE DOOR LOCKS GO UP AND DOWN. I TALKED TO THE CHEVROLET DEALER IN TEMPE, FREEWAY CHEVROLET, AND THEY STATED MY TRUCK WAS NOT PART OF THE SAFETY RECALL BULLETIN 14515 EVEN THOUGH OTHER 2009 CHEVROLETR SILVERADO 1500S WERE PART OF THE RECALL. I WOULD THINK THAT CHEVROLET WOULD BE GLAD TO FIX IT BEFORE A CRASH, SORT OF LIKE TOYOTA SHOULD OF FIXED THEIR BRAKING AND ACCELERATION PROBLEM BEFORE SO MANY CRASHES. IS IT TRUE THAT EVEN IF THE TRUCK IS HAVING THE SAME PROBLEM AS THE RECALL, WHICH IS A SAFETY RECALL, IT MAY NOT BE COVERED FOR IT IS NOT LISTED?
THIS IS AN AIRBAG CONCERN, THERE IS CRACKING IN THE DASH BOARD NEAR THE PASENGER AIRBAG. THIS STARTED TWO MONTHS AGO, BUT THE CRACK KEEPS DEVOLPING. I HAVE ALSO HEARD OTHER CASES OF 2007-2013 GM VEHICLES. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS AFFECTS THE AIRBAG. THIS IS A CONCERN BECAUSE I HAVE HEARD OTHER COMPLAINTS. THE VEHICLE WAS STATIONARY WHEN IT STARTED. I THINK IT'S BECAUSE OF THE WEAK PLASTIC.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO THE NHTSA. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE CONTACT HAD NOT EXPERIENCED A FAILURE. PARTS DISTRIBUTION DISCONNECT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE REAR PASSENGER SIDE WHEEL WAS CORRODED FROM THE INSIDE OUT. THE REAR DRIVER SIDE WHEEL ALSO EXHIBITED SOME CORROSION. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT AUTO BODY SHOP FOR INSPECTION; HOWEVER; THE CONTACT WAS NOT ADVISED ON WHY THE WHEELS WERE CORRODING. THE WHEELS WERE NOT REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 96,000.
TL* TAKATA RECALL. THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. WHILE DRIVING 70 MPH, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL LIGHTING FAILED TO ILLUMINATE. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO AN INDEPENDENT DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PASSENGER PRESENCE MODULE BECAME ERRATIC AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT DIAGNOSED OR REPAIRED. THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 16V381000 (AIR BAGS); HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO DO THE REPAIR WERE UNAVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE MANUFACTURER EXCEEDED A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR THE RECALL REPAIR. THE CONTACT LEFT A VOICE MESSAGE FOR THE DEALER. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE ISSUE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 186,000. VIN TOOL CONFIRMS PARTS NOT AVAILABLE.
THE DASH CRACKED NEXT TO THE UPPER LEFT CORNER OF THE FRONT PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG COVER. IT DID SO COMPLETELY BY ITSELF SOMETIME BETWEEN ABOUT MAY 10 AND MAY 18 . IT WAS FINE THE LAST TIME I DUSTED THE DASH OFF AROUND MAY 10. I DISCOVERED IT A COUPLE OF DAYS A GO. I HAVE FOUND THAT IT SEEMS TO BE COMMON IN 2OO7 TO 2O13 GM TRUCK TYPE VEHICLES. MY SON IN LAW HAD SAME PROBLEM WITH HIS 2010 SILVERADO HE BOUGHT NEW. I ALSO PURCHASED MY 2009 SILVERADO NEW. I ALSO GOT THE PASSENGER AIRBAG RECALL NOTICE. SEEMS THE AIRBAG PROBLEM COULD BE MORE DANGEROUS BECAUSE OF THE CRACKED DASH. DON'T KNOW IF TRUCK WAS STATIONARY OR MOVING WHEN THIS HAPPENED. I ASSUME IT MAY HAVE BEEN PARKED AS I DON'T REMEMBER HEARING ANY SORT OF CRACKING SOUND.
THE DASHBOARD IS CRACKIED, BREAKING, AND DETERIORATING AROUND THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG AND IN VARIOUS OTHER AREAS ALONG THE DASH. IN THE EVENT OF A FRONT END COLLISION, PIECES OF THE FRACTURED DASH COULD BECOME POTENTIAL PROJECTILES CAUSING FURTHER INJURIES.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2009 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE VEHICLE DID NOT START. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC WHO DIAGNOSED THAT THERE WAS EXCESSIVE CORROSION ON THE SRS MODULE CASE AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS. THE CONTACT WAS REFERRED TO THE DEALER BECAUSE SIMILAR VEHICLES WERE ISSUED A RECALL FOR THAT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE AND A CASE WAS OPENED. THE VIN DID NOT QUALIFY FOR THE RECALL. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 32,000.
ON THURSDSY, APRIL 27, 2017, I PARKED MY 2009 CHEVY SILVERADO AT HOME IN MY DRIVEWAY AFTER WORK AND SHUT IT OFF FOR THE NIGHT. IT WAS STATIONARY AT THAT POINT. I DID NOT RESTART IT OR MOVE IT FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE DAY/EVENING. THE NEXT MORNING, THE ENGINE WOULD NOT START. IT SOUNDED LIKE IT WAS GOING TO START, BUT TO NO AVAIL AFTER SEVERAL TRIES. I DETERMINED IT WAS NOT GETTING FUEL. I CALLED A LOCAL AUTO REPAIR TECH WHO DIAGNOSED IT ON SITE, TO BE A FAULTY CHASSIS ELECTRONIC CONTROL MODULE, WHICH SENDS FUEL TO THE FUEL PUMP. UPON RESEARCHING THE PROBLEM, I FOUND A RECALL BULLETIN / PRODUCT SAFETY RECALL #14515B ISSUED JANUARY 2015. IT CLEARLY STATES THAT THE 2007-2013 CHEVROLET SILVERADO (ALONG WITH MANY OTHER MAKES/MODELS/YEARS) MAY HAVE A CHASSIS ELECTRONIC MODULE COULD HAVE INTERNAL CONTAMINATION (WATER, BUILD-UP CAUSING WIRE AND BOLT CORROSION). I BELIEVE THIS TO BE THE CASE FOR MY VEHICLE. ACCORDING TO THE BULLETIN, THE UNSAFE FACTOR IS THAT THE "VEHICLE COULD STALL WHILE IN MOTION AND INCREASE THE RISK OF A VEHICLE CRASH." THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN BACK TO THE DEALER WHERE IT WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE PASSENGER PRESENCE MODULE FAILED. THE CONTACT REFUSED TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 21,518.
THE VEHICLE WAS BEING DRIVEN BY MY SON WHEN SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AND I THEN USED MY ACTRON SCAN TOOL AND PULLED 3X CODES FROM THE COMPUTER (ECU) CODES RELATED TO THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE , AND TRAILER BRAKE WARNING LIGHT APPEARED ON THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER CLEARED THESE CODES. 2 DAYS LATER CODES REAPPEARED ALL WERE FUEL PUMP CIRCUIT LOW, FUEL PUMP MODULE AND TRAILER BRAKE CODES. CLEARED CODES THEN INSPECTED THE FPSM VISUALLY REMOVED REAR COVER AND THE FPSM WAS FULL OF WATER I THEM DRIED IT OUT FOR 2X DAYS IN THE SUN TRUCK RAN AFTER REASSEMBLY. BUT 3X DAYS LATER THE TRUCK FAILED TO START THIS TIME WITH COMPUTER SCAN TOOL IN HAND I CHECKED THE FUEL PUMP PRESSURE, THE TRUCK HAD NO FUEL PUMP PRESSURE. I THEN WENT TO MY LOCAL CHEVROLET DEALER AND GAVE THEM THE V.I.N. # TO CHECK THE VEHICLE FOR RECALLS. ONLY RECALL WAS FOR SAFETY BELT RECALL WHICH WAS DONE IN 2009. I FOUND OUT THERE WAS A POTENTIAL RECALL FOR THE FPSM ON THIS WEBSITE. SO II INQUIRED TO THE PARTS DEPARTMENT FOR THIS PART,IT WAS IN STOCK AND 183.00. I THEN PURCHASED A NEW AC DELCO MODULE ON-LINE FOR 85.00 PUT IT ON AND THEN FOUND MY LOCAL SHOP IN TOWN TO HAVE A TECH COME OUT TO RE-FLASH THE FPSM SO THE (ECU) WOULD RECOGNIZE THE NEW PART. I AM SAVING MY COPIES OF THE BILLS SO THAT WHEN SOMEONE DIES FROM THIS PART FAILING WHEN IT STOPS THE VEHICLE HOPEFULLY I CAN BE REIMBURSED FOR ANOTHER PLANNED GM PART FAILURE... SINCERELY MR. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 80,000.

TAKATA RECALL- SINCE MARCH 2017, MY WARNING LIGHT SYSTEM HAS INTERMITTENTLY DISPLAYED A "SERVICE AIRBAG" MESSAGE. THERE IS AN EXISTING RECALL ASSOCIATED WITH MY VIN, HOWEVER SINCE MAY, 2016 THE RECALL STATUS REMAINS AS "RECALL INCOMPLETE, REMEDY NOT YET AVAILABLE". I BELIEVE THIS TO BE AN OBVIOUS SAFETY CONCERN.
THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE DRIVING AND WHEN THE CODES WERE RAN TWO CODES POPPED UP, P2534 (IGNITION 1 SWITCH CIRCUIT LOW VOLTAGE 2. IGNITION ON/START SWITCH LOW VOLTAGE.) AND CODE P069E FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE REQUESTED MIL ILLUMINATION. WHEN I HAD THE DEALER CHECK THIS THEY SAID THAT THE FUEL PUMP CONTROL MODULE NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, HOWEVER THE VIN NUMBER OF MY VEHICLE DID NOT MATCH THAT OF THE RECALL THAT IS CURRENTLY IN PLACE (BULLETIN NO. 14515B FROM JANUARY 2015).
CRACKED DASHBOARD BY PASSENGER SIDE AIR BAG. MY CONCERN IS IF THE AIR BAG IS DEPLOYED WILL IT CAUSE THE DASH TO SHATTER CAUSING MORE INJURY. I HAD THE SAME CRACK IN THE SAME PLACE ON MY 201 3 TAHOE BUT I HAVE TRADED IT IN. IT SEEMS THAT THERE A MAJOR ISSUE WITH MULTIPLE CHEVROLET VEHICLES SIMILAR TO MINE.

TAKATA INFLATORS: I BELIEVE MY VEHICLE IS ON A RECALL LIST FOR FAULTY AIRBAG INFLATORS.
ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION WITHOUT WARNING DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD MY TRUCK STARTS DINGING FOR MY ENGINE OIL PRESSURE IS LOW AND TO SHUT OFF ENGINE IMMEDIATELY. I PULL OVER AND CHECK OIL AND IT IS NOT EVEN ON THE DIPSTICK. I AM 1600 MILES INTO MY OIL CHANGE SO AS RECOMMENDED BY CHEVY I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO CHANGE MY OIL BUT EVERY 5000 MILES, BUT I HAVE ALWAYS CHANGED IT EVERY 3000. SO I SHOULD HAVE ANOTHER 1400 MILES TO GO BEFORE CHANGING BUT INSTEAD IN ABOUT 3 QUARTS LOW. THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME BUT I WATCH IT VERY CAREFULLY SINCE THE LAST TIME. NOW I AM WORRIED IT WILL TOTAL MY ENGINE AFTER SEEING HOW MUCH OIL IS BEING BURNED. NEVER A DROP ON THE GROUND JUST GOING SOMEWHERE IN THE ENGINE. *TR
AFTER PARKING MY TRUCK IN DRIVEWAY. I CAME OUT THE NEXT MORNING TO FIND MY WINDSHIELD WIPERS UP AND THE TRUCK DEAD. THE ONLY LIGHT THAT WOULD COME ON WAS THE ENGINE LIGHT. AFTER FURTHER INSPECTION, THE FUSE BOX HAD MELTED AND CAUGHT ON FIRE. I FEEL THIS IS A SERIOUS ISSUE THAT NEEDS TO BE ADDRESSED. I DO NOT SEE A RECALL ON GENERAL MOTORS WEBSITE.
THE DASHBOARD IMMEDIATELY SURROUNDING THE CASE HOLDING THE PASSENGER SIDE AIRBAG IN MY 2009 CHEVY SILVERADO IS CRACKED AND BROKEN IN THREE (3) DIFFERENT PLACES, INCLUDING TWO (2) CORNERS. I WAS ADVISED THIS IS A COMMON ISSUE IN GM TRUCKS, AND THAT IT IS A STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY ISSUE THAT COULD CAUSE AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT WITHOUT ACCIDENT. I WAS ADVISED THAT SINCE OUR TRUCK IS PART OF THE TAKATA RECALL TO HAVE OUR AIRBAGS TURNED OFF, ESPECIALLY SINCE THE DASH HOLDING THE AIRBAG IS BROKEN AND DAMAGED. THREE-WAY CHEVROLET IN BAKERSFIELD, CA REFUSES TO TURN THE AIRBAG OFF, EVEN AFTER AGREEING THE CRACKED AND BROKEN DASHBOARD POSES AN INHERENT SAFETY RISK BY COMPROMISING THE ALREADY DEFECTIVE AIRBAGS.
THERE IS A RECALL ON THE AIR BAGS BUT THE DEALER WILL NOT REPLACE THEM
WHILE EXITING A PARKING LOT TO TURN NORTH, THE STEERING FAILED CAUSING MY VEHICLE TO GO ACROSS ONTO THE MEDIAN BEFORE I STOPPED THE VEHICLE. THE MOTOR SHAFT OF THE ELECTRICAL POWER STEERING SNAPPED.
MY AIR BAG SENSOR LIGHT CAME ON AND WILL NOT GO OFF. THE DEALER THAT I DEAL WITH WANTS ME TO PUT IN A NEW SENSOR IN, AND IT WILL COST ME AROUND $500.00. THEY SAID THAT IF I WAS TO GET INTO AN ACCIDENT, THE AIR BAGS AND THE SEATBELTS MIGHT NOT DEPLOY. SHOULD THIS BE A RECALL ITEM?
