TRIED TO ACCELERATE WHILE ENTERING THE FREEWAY, AND EXPERIENCED ENGINE SHUDDER/STUTTER. TOOK SEVERAL SECONDS BEFORE VEHICLE RESPONDED AND ACCELERATED. LOTS OF SHAKING.
STEERING WILL JERK BACK AND FORTH VERY SHARPLY AND DASH INFORMATION CENTER GOES BLANK WHEN TURNING INTO PARKING SPOTS. THIS HAS HAPPENED AT SPEED WITH A/C AND RADIO GOING BLANK.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE BRAKE PEDAL INTERMITTENTLY DEPRESSED TO THE FLOORBOARD WITHOUT WARNING. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO AN INDEPENDENT MECHANIC AND WAS INFORMED THAT THERE WAS AN UNKNOWN RECALL ON THE VIN. THE CONTACT CALLED FIVE STAR CADILLAC (495 WATSON BLVD, WARNER ROBINS, GA 31093, (478) 302-0612) AND WAS INFORMED THAT THE VEHICLE WAS NOT INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V645000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE CONTACT LINKED THE FAILURE TO THE RECALL. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 50,000.
NHTSA RECALL 17V-414 AND GM RECALL 17276 ARE FOR THE 2014 CHEVROLET SILVERADO VEHICLES. I HAVE A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO EXPERIENCING THE EXACT SAME ISSUE AS DESCRIBED IN THE REFERENCE RECALLS, BUT NO RECALL HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR 2016 MODEL YEAR. 2016 MODEL YEAR NEEDS TO BE RECALLED AS WELL.
THE VEHICLE COMPLETELY LOSES POWER FOR A SPLIT SECOND. AFTER THIS INCIDENT HAPPENS, THE DISPLAY SAYS LOWER THEN RAISE THE DRIVER SIDE WINDOW ALL THE WAY. THE AMBIENT TEMP READING GOES TO 32 AND DISPLAYS WARNING POSSIBLE FREEZING CONDITIONS. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO BE COMING FROM A BAD GROUND CABLE.
COOLANT LEAK ON DRIVER SIDE OF RADIATOR. THIS CAUSES TRUCK TO OVERHEAT WHEN DRIVING ON CITY STREETS OR HIGHWAYS & AT IDLE ON OCCASION. IT CAUSES TRUCK TO OVERHEAT EVERY TIME WHEN HAULING A LOAD(PULLING A TRAILER AND/OR BOAT) ON CITY STREETS & HIGHWAYS. I CAN VISIBLY SEE COOLANT LEAKING FROM THE RADIATOR. DRIVING WITH THE AC ON MAKES THE OVERHEATING WORSE.
AT AROUND 82,000 MILES CAR STARTED TO BE HARD TO DRIVE DUE TO TRANSMISSION FAILING TO SWITCH GEARS PROPERLY... NOW AT 92,500 IT'S BARELY SWITCHING GEARS... I RECEIVED ERROR CODES AND CHECK AT DEALERSHIP, THEY SAY IT'S NOT UNDER WARRANTY. I KNEW I AM COVERED UP TO 100,000 MIKE'S FOR DRIVE TRAIN. PLEASE HELP!
I STARTED GETTING THE FAMOUS TRANSMISSION "SHUDDER" AND "SHAKE" ABOUT A WEEK AGO AND IT IS NOW CONSTANT AT ANY SPEED, ESPECIALLY DURING ACCELERATION. SHIFTS FROM 1ST TO 2ND AND 2ND TO 3RD ARE HARSH. DURING ACCELERATION, THE TRANSMISSION SURGES AND FEELS LIKE IT'S SLIPPING OR TRYING TO SHIFT WHEN IT SHOULDN'T. EVEN USING CRUISE CONTROL AT A CONSTANT SPEED, THE SURGES STILL HAPPEN AND THERE'S A CONSTANT VIBRATION THROUGH THE STEERING WHEEL.
TL*THE CONTACT OWNED A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. THE CONTACT STATED WAS DRIVING 25 MPH WHEN THE BRAKE BRAKE PEDAL WAS DEPRESSED HOWEVER, THE VEHICLE FAILED TO STOP. THE CONTACT STATED THAT HE HAD TO DEPRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL WITH BOTH FEET AS IT TRAVELLED TO THE FLOORBOARD. THE VEHICLE DID NOT STOP AND DECELERATED IN SPEED WHICH CAUSED THE CONTACT TO REAR-END A VEHICLE, WHICH ALSO CAUSED THAT VEHICLE TO REAR-END A VEHICLE AS WELL. NO INJURIES WERE SUSTAINED AND NO MEDICAL TREATMENT ACQUIRED. THERE WAS NO POLICE REPORT FILED. THERE WAS NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED ON THE VEHICLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE ABS FAILED TO ENGAGE. THE CONTACT HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO THEIR RESIDENCE. THE CONTACT INSURANCE COMPANY HAD THE VEHICLE TOWED TO A TOW YARD, WHERE THEY INSPECTED THE VEHICLE DAMAGES AND DEEMED THE VEHICLE A TOTAL LOSS. THE LOCAL DEALER AND THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT HE BELIEVED THE FAILURE WAS RELATED TO NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 18V578000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC) AND 16V069000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 78,000. *DT
I HAD JUST PULLED INTO A PARKING LOT AND POSITIONED THE TRUCK TO BACK IT IN INTO A PARKING SPACE, WHEN THE TRUCK WAS PUT INTO REVERSE MY BRAKES BECAME VERY HARD AND I HAD NO STOPPING POWER. I PUT THE TRUCK IN DRIVE AND THE SAME THING HAPPENED, I THEN TURNED THE TRUCK OFF AFTER PUTTING IT IN PARK. WAITED A FEW MOMENTS APPLIED PRESSURE TO THE BRAKES AND STARTED IT. WHEN THE ENGINE TURNED OVER THE BRAKES SOFTENED WITH A VIBRATION, AND I ACCELERATED FORWARD TO TAKE IT AROUND THE PARKING LOT AND THE BRAKES SEEMED TO BE WORKING AGAIN. I ALSO GOT A SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST NOTICE ON MY DASH WHEN I STARTED THE TRUCK THIS MORNING. UPON INVESTIGATING, SEEMS TO BE A KNOWN ISSUE? I DO NOT FEEL SAFE IN MY TRUCK NOW AND I DO NOT EVEN WANT TO DRIVE MY CHILDREN AROUND.
WHEN I PUT MY VEHICLE IN REVERSE WHEN BACKING DOWN AN INCLINE MY BREAK PEDAL GETS HARD AND THE VEHICLE TAKES LONGER TO STOP AND THE STEEPER THE INCLINE THE HARDER IT IS TO STOP THIS ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I AM IN REVERSE ALSO THE BRAKE PEDDLE HAS SOME VIBRATION WHEN THIS HAPPENS. I READ YOUR ARTICLE ON GM VEHICLES HAVING THIS SIMILAR PROBLEM I RAN MY VIN NUMBER FOR A RECALL AND NOTHING CAME UP FOR MY VEHICLE. ALSO IF THIS IS A RECALL ISSUE I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A NOTICE FROM THE MANUFACTURE.
AFTER DRIVING THE TRUCK FOR ABOUT 20 MIN, THE TRUCK LOOSE A LITTLE BIT OF POWER THEN THE BREAKS BEGIN TO GET HARDER AND HARDER TILL THE FRONT BREAKS LOCK UP, AFTER THEY LOCK UP I HAVE TO PARK IT FOR ATLEAST 10 MIN THEN YOU FEEL THEM UNLOCK AND YOU CAN DRIVE AGAIN, SOMETIMES ONLY A COUPLE MORE MIN OR TILL THE NEXT DAY, HAD IT INTO THE CHEVY DEALERSHIP WERE THEY COULD NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG EXCEPT SOME OLD STORED CODES, I SHOWED THEM THE CODE I KEPT GETTING AND THEY SAID THEY DIDNT SO MINE COULDNT BE RIGHT, BUT TO BRING IT BACK IF IT HAPPENS AGAIN. TONIGHT I PULLED INTO WORK, I WORK MIDNIGHTS AND MY FRONT ROTORS WERE GLOWING LAVA RED. BREAKS LOCKED UP AFTER THE STABILATRAK SERVICE LIGHT COMES ON
I HAVE A 2016 CHEVY SILVERADO HIGH COUNTRY 6.2L ENGINE 8 SPEED TRANSMISSION 38,000 MILES. TRANSMISSION EITHER HESITATES OR SHIFTS ROUGHLY WHEN ACCELERATING. MULTIPLE TIMES WHEN THIS OCCURRED MAKING A TURN IT NEARLY CAUSED AN ACCIDENT IF IT DECIDED TO HESITATE SHIFTING. GM HAS DONE NOTHING ABOUT THIS PROBLEM EXCEPT GIVE CUSTOMER MAGICAL FLUID FIXES THAT DON'T LAST IF THEY WORK AT ALL, THEY ARE NOW ON THE THIRD FLUID INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL FACTORY. THEY'VE BEEN TELLING CUSTOMERS THE TRANSMISSION JUST HAS TO RE-LEARN SHIFT PATTERNS FROM DAY ONE. A FRIEND OF MINE HAS ONE OF THESE TRUCKS AS WELL AND HAD ONE DEALER TELL HIM THAT'S JUST HOW THE TRUCK WORKS. IF THIS IS AN ACCEPTABLE MODE OF OPERATION THEN WHY WAS THE TRUCK ALLOWED ON THE ROAD IN THE FIRST PLACE?
MY TRUCK HAS A BAD GAS SMELL WHEN ENTERING OR EXITING THE TRUCK. I LOOKED UNDERNEATH IT AND SAW A SMALL GAS LEAK COMING FROM THE TOP INSIDE OF THE TANK. THE TRUCK ONLY HAS 26000 MILES ON IT, AND IS JUST OUT OF WARRANTY. PLEASE INFORM ME IF YOU KNOW OF OTHER REPORTS OF GAS LEAKING ON THESE CHEVY TRUCKS
A/C CONDENSOR CRACKED LIKE THOUSANDS OF OTHERS. $1000 REPAIR. CHEVROLET RECALLED SUVS WITH THE SAME SYSTEM BUT NOT TRUCKS. WHEN WILL CHEVROLET MAKE THIS RIGHT
THE TRANSMISSION ALWAYS RUNS HOT. I TOOK IT WHEN IT WAS UNDER WARRANTY TO GET FIX AND WAS TOLD THE TRANSMISSION SHOULD RUN ABOUT 250' I DON'T THINK THIS IS TRUE NOW MY WARRANTY IS OVER AND THE PROBLEM NEVER WENT AWAY
CONSTANTLY HAVING FREON LEAKS IN THE SAME PLACE AND APPEARS TO BE A PROBLEM FOR THOUSANDS OF OTHERS
I WAS BACKING IN TO A LAKE TO PULL MY BOAT OUT AND ALMOST WENT RIGHT IN THE LAKE. EMERGENCY BRAKE SAVED ME. THIS IS THE MOST DANGEROUS SITUATION I HAVE EVER BEEN IN IN MY 56 YEARS OF LIVING. I AM FILING A LAW SUIT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE STEERING WHEEL WOULD JERK AND WOULD TURN ON HIS OWN. NO WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. OWN. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO WEIR CHEVROLET BUICK (GMC,1507 S MAIN ST, RED BUD, IL 62278) AND WAS DIAGNOSED THAT THE STEERING GEAR NEEDED TO RECALIBRATED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED AT THE CONTACTS EXPENSE. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT THE UPDATE DID NOT WORK AND THE DEALER HAD TO RECALIBRATE THE STEERING AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT IT WAS NOT PART OF THE OF THE UNKNOWN TSB. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THEY CORRECTED THE ISSUE OF THE UNKNOWN BULLETIN AND REFERRED THE CONTACT TO NHTSA. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 60,000. THE VIN WAS NOT AVAILABLE.
RPM INCREASES BETWEEN 4 AND 5.5K BUT UNABLE TO ACCELERATION AFTER DESCENSION FROM HILL WHILE DRIVING ON I-17. IT APPEARS MY TRANSMISSION/GEARS SLIP FOLLOWING HILL DESCENTS. ON 6 OCCASIONS, WHILE DRIVING TO AND FROM MOAB, UTAH ON AUG 9-10, THE ENGINE REVS UP TO 4.5 - 5.5K AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HILL/DECLINE. I COULD NOT GET OUT OF THE GEAR OR PICK UP SPEED UPON ACCELERATION. BRAKING DID NOT STOP THE REVS. I JUST KEPT MY FOOT OFF THE BRAKE AND ACCELERATOR UNTIL THE GEAR EVENTUALLY KICKED IN. OTHERWISE THE TRUCK RIDE AND DRIVE IS AMAZING AND NO OTHER PROBLEM EXCEPT GETTING ANNOYING GEAR CLUNKS NOW AND THEN, EVERY SINCE I PURCHASED IT. BACK IN 2017 MIDWAY CHEVY SAID THAT IS NOT A PROBLEM. WELL, I DROVE MY TRUCK FOR THE FIRST TIME YESTERDAY SINCE THE INCIDENT. THE PROBLEM REOCCURRED WHILE DESCENDING A VERY SMALL HILL IN ANTHEM. THIS TIME SPAN WAS MUCH SHORTER. I WANT TO MENTION THAT I HAVE DRIVEN MY TRUCK UP I-17 FROM ANTHEM, AZ TO FLAGSTAFF AND BEYOND AT LEAST 20 TIMES IN THE LAST 4 YEARS AND NEVER EXPERIENCED THIS. I DO NOT HAVE A FLOOR MAT OR ANYTHING ON THE DRIVER SIDE FLOOR OF THE TRUCK. THERE ARE NO SIGNS OF TRANS FLUID LEAKING (ON GARAGE FLOOR ETC.), NO WAY TO CHECK MY TRANS FLUID LEVEL. NO MESSAGES SHOWED UP IN THE DIC (DRIVER INFO CTR), OR ON THE DASHBOARD INSTRUMENT CLUSTER (MESSAGE CENTER) (I.E.: TRANSMISSION, SPEED, SERVICE BRAKE ASSIST, ETC.), NO DIAGNOSTIC WARNING AND THE AUGUST MONTHLY DIAGNOSTIC REPORT DID NOT REFLECT ANY PROBLEMS. I DON'T THINK ANY FEATURES WERE ACCIDENTALLY TURNED ON WHILE DRIVING (I.E.: TOW/HAUL, HDC, GRADE BRAKING ETC.) . THE PROBLEM CONTINUED AFTER TURNING TRUCK OFF AND RESTARTING, WHICH SHOULD DISENGAGE MOST FEATURES. I AM A 70 YEAR OLD WOMAN AND HAVEN;T DRIVEN THE TRUCK HARD OR NEVER HAULED ANYTHING. I AM 2K MILES OUT OF WARRANTY. WILL NEVER PAY 53K FOR A VEHICLE WITH SUCH A LOUSY DRIVE-TRAIN WARRANTY.
WARNING ALARM GOES OFF AND POWER STEERING GOES OUT HAPPENS WITH VECHILE IN MOTION
Transmission started going out at less than 50,000 miles.
POWER STEERING LOST TEMPORARILY, LIGHTS WENT ON AND OFF FAST AND VEHICLE DASH WENT BLACK AND TRUCK DIED WHILE TURNING CAUSING ME TO HIT A CAR. MOVING ABOUT 5 TO 10 MPH
AS I WAS BACKING OUT OF MY DRIVEWAY THE TRUCK SUDDENLY SHUT OFF AND THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED HARD OUT OF MY HAND. THE SCREENS ALL WENT BLANK. I WAS HALFWAY ONTO THE ROAD WHEN THIS HAPPENED AND LUCKILY THE ONCOMING TRAFFIC WAS ABLE TO STOP IN TIME. I RESTARTED THE CAR AND IT DID IT AGAIN. IT TOOK THREE TIMES TO GET THE CAR GOING. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED THE DEALER TO TAKE IT IN FOR SERVICE. ON THE WAY TO THE DEALER IT HAPPENED AGAIN AND PRIOR TO THE SCREEN JUST BLACKED OUT ONLY THEN THE AC BLOWER FAN SURGED ON AND OFF. THE VEHICLE AGAIN SHUT OFF AS I WAS TURNING FROM DUAL HIGHWAY TO THE DEALER AND THE STEERING WHEEL JERKED OUT OF MY HANDS AND THE BRAKES LOCKED. ALSO WHEN I BACKED OUT THAT MORNING THE REAR FELT LIKE THEIR WAS SOME SLIPPAGE. I BOUGHT MY 2016 SILVERADO USED IN 2018 WITH 24K MILES ON IT. THE ODOMETER JUST TURNED 50K TWO DAYS AGO, SO THIS VEHICLE HAS NOT BEEN DRIVEN HARD AND HAS ALWAYS HAD PROPER SERVICE.I BEGAN RESEARCHING AND THERE ARE THOUSANDS OF THE SAME COMPLAINT ONLINE SO I THOUGHT THERE MUST BE A RECALL. HOWEVER, THE DEALER TELLS ME THAT THERE IS ONLY A "BULLETIN" AND THAT SINCE I AM OUT OF WARRANTY I HAVE TO PAY FOR THE KNOWN REPAIRS NEEDED TO FIX THIS ISSUE THAT CLEARLY GM IS AWARE OF. REPAIRS ARE OVER 1300 DOLLARS! I CAN NOT BELIEVE THAT GM KNOWS ABOUT SUCH A DANGEROUS PROBLEM AND WILL NOT FIX IT FOR OWNERS. HOW MANY INJURIES AND DEATHS MUST OCCUR BEFORE A BULLETIN WARRANTS BECOMING A RECALL? I ALSO NOTED THAT THE PREVIOUS OWNER, RIGHT BEFORE I BOUGHT THE VEHICLE ACCORDING THE THE CAR FAX TOOK THE VEHICLE FOR SERVICE DUE TO ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS. SO THIS WAS KNOWN BY GM AND DEALER WHEN I BOUGHT THE TRUCK. DECEITFUL. I HAVE A FAMILY THAT RELIES ON THIS VEHICLE FOR TRANSPORTATION AND NOW I CAN'T AFFORD TO FIX IT OR TRADE IT AND IT IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE. HELP!
MY TRUCK WAS SHAKING AND SHUDDERING, ALONG WITH HARD UPSHIFT AND DOWNSHIFT WHILE DRIVING. IT STARTED TO MAKE A LOUD NOISE WHEN ACCELERATING FROM A STOP AND WOULD SPUTTER WHEN ON THE HIGHWAY. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY DIAGNOSED THE TRUCK WOULD NEED A NEW TRANSMISSION.
WHILE TRAVELING EASTBOUND ON INTERSTATE 10 FROM VAN HORN TO FORT STOCKTON AT APPROXIMATELY 85 MPH WITH A SEMI PARALLEL ON THE RIGHT HAND LANE AND AN SUV DIRECTLY BEHIND ME NO MORE THAN 3 CAR LENGTHS AWAY, THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT ACTIVATED AND ALL POWER WAS LOST. WHEN THE ENGINE SHUTDOWN LUCKILY THE SUV BEHIND ME WAS ABLE TO SLOW DOWN AFTER I IMMEDIATELY ACTIVATED MY EMERGENCY FLASHERS AND I WAS ABLE TO SAFELY, AFTER ALMOST CAUSING AN ACCIDENT, MOVE OVER TO THE RIGHT HAND SHOULDER/GRASS AREA. AFTER HAVING TRUCK TOWED TO THE NEAREST CHEVY/GM DEALERSHIP IN PECOS TX, THE DIAGNOSIS WAS A FAULTY FUEL PUMP ESTIMATED COST OVER $800. THIS IS A SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE WHEN TRAVELING ON THE HIGHWAY AND THE FUEL PUMP GOES OUT AND SHOULD BE LOOKED AT BY NHTSA.
I WAS DRIVING AND LOST ALL POWER I HAD NO LIGHTS NO STEERING NO BREAKS AND THEN EVERYTHING CAME BACK ON THIS IS VERY VERY DANGEROUS RESEARCH IT AND THERE IS A LOT OF PEOPLE HAVING THE SAME PROBLEMS SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE

I DROVE ALMOST 5 HRS AWAY TO TAKE MY FAMILY ON A VACATION AND WHEN I PULLED INTO THE HOTEL I ALMOST COULDNT STOP AND NOTICED MY PARKING ASSIST SERVICE WAS ON ON THE DASH. I TRIED BACKING UP AND I ALMOST COULD NOT STOP FROM BACKING INTO ANOTHER CAR. AND IT KEEPS DOING IT EVERY NOW AND AGAIN. THE BRAKES ARE HARD TO PUSH AND IT FEELS LIKE ARE PALPATATING AND ALSO FEEL LIKE SOMETHING IS UNDER MY BRAKE BC IT BARELY PUSHES IN.
GM HAS KNOWN DEFECT W/ 8L90 TRANSMISSION SYSTEMS FAILING. IN JULY THIS VEHICLE WAS SERVICED BY A GM DEALER RECEIVING FULL TRANSMISSION FLUSH AND PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE. EVER SINCE (NOW 60 DAYS) THE TRUCK STRUGGLES TO SHIFT AND LURCHES FORWARD IN LOW GEAR. UPON TAKING BACK TO DEALER THIS WEEK, THE LONE OPTION IS A FULL REPLACEMENT TRANSMISSION, NEARLY $6K OF ESTIMATED COST. TRUCK IS LESS THAN FIVE YEARS OLD.
DIVE LINE VIBRATION, NOT FROM OUT OF BALANCE WHEELS. IT OCCURS AROUND 70 MPH AND LIVES IN AND OUT. THE SHAKE/VIBRATION IS ALWAYS PRESENT BUT GETS FLUCTUATES AT A CONTINUOUS SPEED. GOES FROM A SLIGHT FLOOR VIBRATION TO THE ENTIRE CENTER CONSOLE SHAKING WATER OUT OF ITS CUP. FEELS LIKE THE WHEELS ARE GOING TO COME OFF THE BACK. IT CAN BE SEEN THAT THE REAR END IS SHAKING LEFT TO RIGHT FROM THE DRIVERS MIRROR.
UPON LEAVING MY RESIDENCE AND HEADING TO WORK IN THE MORNING, THE TRUCK STARTED SPUTTERING AND CUTTING OUT WHILE DRIVING THROUGH THE INTERSECTION. THE ACTION IMPEDED THE TRAFFIC AND THE ENGINE LIGHT CUT ON. AFTER REVIEWING THE FAULT CODE, IT DISPLAYED A P0300 MISFIRE CODE AND P050D, COMMONLY RELATED TO FAULTY FUEL INJECTORS. THE TRUCK HAD APPROXIMATELY 34000 MILES WHEN THE ISSUE STARTED. LOCAL CHEVY DEALER ADVISED THEY ARE NOT COVERED UNDER POWER TRAIN WARRANTY AND BUMPER TO BUMPER HAS EXPIRED. THE ISSUE IS NOW RE OCCURRING AND THE FUEL INJECTORS ARE ON BACK ORDER.
THIS TRUCK SHAKES HORRIBLY OVER 70 MPH. AFTER LOOKING FOR SOLUTIONS AND SEEING HUNDREDS OF COMPLAINTS ON THE SAME ISSUE I HAVE NOWHERE TO TURN AND NO HOPE THAT A DEALERSHIP WILL BE ABLE TO DIAGNOSE OR FIX THIS ISSUE.

SILVERARDO 2016 1500 PICK UP TRUCK SUDDENLY LOST POWER STEERING WITH NO WARNING. TRUCK IS IN FINE OPERATING CONDITION, THERE ARE NO CURRENT RECALLS FOR STEERING FOR THIS YEAR. WIFE WAS DRIVING. THE TRUCK WAS IN MOTION ON THE HIGHWAY EXIT. PULLED OVER. I WENT OUT TO GET THE TRUCK LOOKED FOR ANY ISSUES. RESTARTED TRUCK POWER STEERING WORKED THEN FAILED AGAIN AFTER 5 MINUTES. DROVE THE TRUCK TO A PARKING LOT. RESTARTED TRUCK AND POWER STEERING WORKS. WHILE SOME PERSONS MAY BE ABLE TO STEER THE TRUCK TO A SAFE SPOT, IT IS DIFFICULT AND TAKES A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF UPPER BODY STRENGTH TO CONTROL THE VEHICLE. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND TRAVELING ON AN EXIT RAMP ABOUT HALFWAY THROUGH, MY VEHICLE MOMENTARILY "SHUDDERED" OR "LOST POWER" FOLLOWED BY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT FLASHING. THIS COULD HAVE RESULTED IN QUITE A SERIOUS ACCIDENT, HOWEVER I WAS ABLE TO RETAIN CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE AND PULL OVER IMMEDIATELY. WHEN I PULLED OVER, I CONNECTED MY CODE SCANNING TOOL AND PULLED A P0300 CODE FROM THE VEHICLE, MEANING IT HAD MULTIPLE/RANDOM MISFIRES. THIS COINCIDES WITH THE "SHUDDER". UPON TAKING THE VEHICLE TO THE DEALERSHIP TO GET A DIAGNOSTIC, THE SERVICE WRITER INFORMED ME THEY HAVE HAD QUITE A FEW VEHICLES WITH THE SAME ENGINE COME IN FOR MISFIRE ISSUES, USUALLY RESULTING IN FUEL INJECTORS BEING REPLACED OR THE FUEL PUMP. SEARCHING ONLINE, IT SEEMS TO BE A FAIRLY CONSISTENT ISSUE. MULTIPLE FORUMS HAVE BEEN DEDICATED TO IT, ALONG WITH MANY YOUTUBE VIDEOS DESCRIBING IT AND SHOWING HOW TO REPLACE THE INJECTORS OR FUEL PUMP. AS THIS SEEMS LIKE A WIDESPREAD ISSUE, I WOULD LIKE TO REQUEST THE NHTSA LOOK INTO THE MATTER AND MAKE A DETERMINATION. TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, THE STEERING WHEEL CEASED AND JERKED WITHOUT WARNING. ADDITIONALLY, THE INSTRUMENT PANEL WAS INOPERABLE. THE FAILURE WAS REMEDIED INDEPENDENTLY AND THE VEHICLE RETURNED TO NORMAL OPERATION. THE FAILURE RECURRED THREE TIMES. THE CONTACT WAS INFORMED THAT THE FAILURE WAS DUE TO THE CONNECTION BETWEEN THE POSITIVE AND NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINALS. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE AND INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE REPAIR WAS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY OR A MANUFACTURER'S RECALL. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.

A/C CONDENSER FAILURE: AS I LIVE IN A CLIMATE THAT EXPERIENCES SNOW AND BELOW-FREEZING TEMPERATURES MORE OFTEN THAN 80 DEGREE DAYS, I ONLY US MY AIR CONDITIONING MAYBE 5 MONTHS OF THE YEAR. I WENT TO USE MY A/C THIS SUMMER AND REALIZED IT WAS BLOWING WARM AIR. I DID SOME RESEARCH AND DECIDED TO JUST ADD MORE R-134A WITH DYE TO TROUBLESHOOT THE PROBLEM. I FOUND USING A UV FLASHLIGHT THAT THE A/C CONDENSER HAS A PRETTY LARGE CRACK IN IT IN THE SAME LOCATION AS ON THE CHEVY SUBURBAN'S AND TAHOE'S. IT IS VISIBLE THROUGH THE GRILL TOWARDS THE DRIVERS SIDE. AS THE QUOTE FOR THE JOB AT THE DEALERSHIP IS WELL OVER $500, I DECIDED TO JUST ROLL MY WINDOWS DOWN ALL SUMMER AND REPLACE THE A/C CONDENSER MYSELF OVER THE WINTER. I AM CURRENTLY GATHERING MY PARTS TO DO SO. APPARENTLY IT IS A 4-6 HOUR JOB, BUT ASIDE FROM PLOWING, SCHOOL, AND WORK, I SHOULD BE ABLE TO EVENTUALLY GET IT DONE. THIS IS FRUSTRATING THAT A (AT THE TIME) 4 YEAR-OLD VEHICLE HAS SO MANY DEFECTS THAT I WILL EVENTUALLY HAVE SUNK $5K+ INTO FOR UNCOMMON REPAIRS ON A 100K MILE, 4 YEAR-OLD TRUCK.
AT APPROXIMATELY 32,000 MILES, AS I WAS ENTERING THE ON RAMP TO THE FREEWAY, I LOST FORWARD DRIVE. I COASTED TO A STOP ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD AND TRIED SEVERAL TIMES UNSUCCESSFULLY TO RESUME FORWARD MOTION OR EVEN REVERSE. THE ENGINE REVVED UP BUT NO MOVEMENT. AFTER GETTING THE TRUCK TOWED TO MY HOUSE, AND THEN TOWED TO THE DEALERSHIP THE NEXT DAY, THE DEALERSHIP SPENT 2 DAYS DIAGNOSING THE TRANSMISSION BEFORE DETERMINING THAT THE TRANSMISSION HAD TO BE REMOVED FOR FURTHER INVESTIGATION. AFTER THEY REMOVED THE TRANSMISSION, THEY DISCOVERED THAT THE GEARS AND CLUTCH PACKS FOR GEARS 2 THROUGH 6 HAD BLOWN APART. THIS IS OF COURSE WAS ABSURD DUE TO THE AGE OF THE VEHICLE, THE MILEAGE AND THE FACT THAT I'VE NEVER TOWED ANYTHING WITH THE TRUCK OR ANYTHING OUTSIDE OF NORMAL EVERYDAY DRIVING. FORTUNATELY, IT WAS STILL UNDER WARRANTY SO THE DEALER PROCEEDED TO REBUILD THE TRANSMISSION. FAST FORWARD TO 60,000 MILES LATER AND OF COURSE THE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS HAVE RETURNED. I BEGAN FEELING AN INTENSE VIBRATION THROUGH EVERY GEAR AND AT ALL SPEEDS, LONG, DELAYED AND FREQUENTLY VIOLENT SHIFTS BETWEEN 1ST AND 2ND, 3RD AND 4TH GEARS, AND A STRANGE, NOISY IDLE. THIS WENT ON FOR A DAY WHICH, I THEN PARKED THE TRUCK AND SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT TO RETURN TO THE DEALERSHIP TO PREVENT FURTHER DAMAGE. THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT, AFTER THE VIBRATIONS, CLUNKS AND DELAYED SHIFTS, I LOST FORWARD DRIVE AGAIN, ABOUT A HALF MILE FROM THE DEALERSHIP. I MANAGED TO GET IT BACK IN DRIVE AFTER SHUTTING OFF THE IGNITION AND CYCLING THE SHIFTER FROM PARK TO DRIVE, BUT THIS WOULD ONLY LAST THROUGH 2ND GEAR BEFORE LOSING DRIVE AGAIN. I REPEATED THIS ABOUT 4 TIMES WHICH WAS ENOUGH TO GET THE TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP AND PREVENT HAVING TO WAIT AN HOUR TO BE TOWED 1/4 MILE. UNFORTUNATELY THE TRUCK IS NOW OUTSIDE OF THE 5 YEAR 60,000 MI POWER TRAIN WARRANTY. EXPECTING TO RECEIVE A DIAGNOSTIC REPORT TOMORROW. *TR

MY 2016 SILVERADO STEERING WHEEL LOCKS UP AND ALL OF THE POWER IN MY VEHICLE SHUTS OFF. IT ONLY HAPPENS WHEN I'M TURNING BUT I CANNOT MOVE THE WHEEL IN ANY DIRECTION. I WAS ATTEMPTING TO OPEN THE DOOR TO REMOVE MY CHILD, THE DOOR WOULD NOT OPEN.I THEN BEGAN TO PROBLEM SOLVE THE ISSUE AND REALIZED THE REAR PASSENGER DOOR DOES NOT LOCK WITH KEY FOB OR UNLOCK MANUALLY OR WITH KEY FOB. THE DOOR WILL LOCK MANUALLY BUT I CAN NOT OPEN THE DOOR FROM INSIDE MANUALLY, IT WILL NOT UNLOCK FROM THE DRIVERS SIDE CONTROL UNLOCK, OR WITH THE KEY FOB. WHEN STOPPING VEHICLE THE BREAK PEDAL HAS BEEN VIBRATING AND GOING TO THE FLOOR FOR A FEW DAYS. THIS USUALLY RESOLVES AFTER A FEW MINUTES. HOWEVER TODAY THE BREAK PEDAL VIBRATED AND WENT TO THE FLOOR AND HAS NOT COME BACK UP. THIS IS NOT ALLOWING THE TRUCK TO STOP IN REVERSE OR FORWARD MOTION. WHEN PUT IN REVERSE AND THEN PRESSURE APPLIED TO BREAK THE PEDAL APPEARS TO STAY ON THE FLOOR OF TRUCK. WHEN PLACED IN DRIVE THE PEDAL WILL HAVE SOME PRESSURE BEHIND IT BUT THEN WILL ABRUPTLY GO TO FLOOR AND NOT ALLOW TRUCK TO STOP. THIS OCCURRED BEFORE THE LAST BREAK RECALL ON THIS TRUCK. RECALL WAS COMPLETED AND THEN A FEW MONTHS LATER THE SAME ISSUE HAS OCCURRED. THERE IS ADEQUATE BREAK FLUID IN RESERVOIR AND DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE LEAKING. BREAK PADS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION. THIS SEEMS TO BE EITHER AN INTERNAL COMPUTER ISSUE OR AND ISSUE WITH THE BREAK PEDAL ITSELF. THIS HAPPENED WHILE PULLING INTO A PARKING SPOT AT A SLOW RATE OF SPEED.
