TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DEPRESSING THE BRAKE PEDAL, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT IMMEDIATELY STOP, CAUSING THE BRAKING DISTANCE TO BE EXTENDED. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO THE LOCAL DEALER EMICH CHEVROLET LOCATED AT 2033 S. WADSWORTH BLVD, LAKEWOOD, CO 80227, WHO INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS INCLUDED IN NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V761000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC, SERVICE BRAKES, ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL) HOWEVER, THE PARTS TO REPAIR THE VEHICLE WERE NOT YET AVAILABLE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 130,000.
AC CONDENSER CRACKING BLOWING HOT AIR
MY 2016 SILVERADO WAS ALREADY RECALLED FOR THE BRAKES, I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER WEBER CHEVROLET, AND THEY SAID THEY FIXED THE RECALL. THIS WAS SEVERAL MONTHS AGO. YESTERDAY I STARTED UP MY TRUCK AND A BRAKE SERVICE MESSAGE APPEARED, WHEN I PUT THE TRUCK INTO DRIVE AND WENT DOWN THE STREET THE BRAKES WERE MUSH, THEY WERE ALMOST UNRESPONSIVE AT THE LOW SPEED I WAS GOING. I HAD TO PUSH THE BRAKE PEDAL TO ALMOST THE FLOOR AT THE STOP AND HEARD A LOUD GROWLING SOUND FROM EITHER UNDERTAKE HOOD OR THE WHEELS. SO WHAT EVER THEY WORK DID FOR THE RECALL NOTICE DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM DESCRIBED IN YOUR RECALLS FOR THIS 2016 TRUCK.
SILVERADO 1500. WHILE MOVING AT SLOW SPEED, LIKE IN LINE AT A DRIVE THRU, THE BRAKES WILL SOMETIMES GET REAL HARD TO PUSH PETAL TO BRING VEHICLE TO STOP. IT HAPPENS IN REVERSE MOVING SLOW AND ITS EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE WHEN I'M BACKING BOAT IN BOAT RAMP AND THE BRAKES FAIL TO A POINT THAT I HAVE TO STAND ON THE PETAL AND ENGAGE PARKING BRAKE SO I DON'T LOSE MY TRUCK AND TRAILER INTO THE WATER. I HAPPENED ONCE ABOUT 6 MONTHS AGO BUT DIDN'T DO IT AGAIN TIL A MARCH 1 AND HAS HAPPENED 4 TIMES SINCE. THANKS FOR YOUR TIME AND CONSIDERATION.
I'M HAVING THE TRANSMISSION REPLACED IN A 2016 SILVERADO! I'M 61 YEARS OLD AND TAKE CARE OF MY VEHICLES. AFTER READING CAR BLOGS, I SEE THERE ARE MANY COMPLAINTS ABOUT THE SAME THING! THE TRUCK JERKS SO VIOLENTLY THAT I'M AFRAID I'VE BEEN HIT BY ANOTHER CAR OR THAT I MAY MOVE FORWARD AND HIT ANOTHER VEHICLE. THIS IS RIDICULOUS THAT GM IS AWARE OF THIS AND HAVE NOT FIXED THIS ISSUE. I WORK HARD FOR MY MONEY AND DO NOT FEEL THAT I SHOULD BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THIS REPLACEMENT. PLEASE HELP!
WAS DRIVING AND CRUISE CONTROL STOPPED WORKING DIDN'T THROW ANY CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS OR CODES. GOT APPOINTMENT SET UP FOR THEM TO LOOK AT IT AND LESS THEN A WEEK LATER CAN'T DRIVE IT DUE TO THE TRANSMISSION IS OUT. ONLY HAS 129K FOR MILES
BACKED INTO A SPOT AT WORK AND WHEN I PUT THE BRAKES ON TO STOP THE TRUCK WAS VERY HARD TO STOP .. THE BREAK PEDDLE DIDN'T GO DOWN ALL THE WAY ... I WAS ON A FLAT SURFACE
GOT IN MY VEHICLE AND STARTED TO GO AND WHEN I PRESSED ON THE BRAKES TO STOP I NOTICED THAT THE BRAKES WERE FLUTTERING AND NOT STOPPING PROPERLY . SO I LOOKED UP AND THERE'S A RECALL ON GM MODEL BUT NOT THE CHEVY MODEL . SO I CALLED MY DEALER WHERE I BOUGHT IT FROM AND THEY TOLD ME THE SAME THAT THERE ARE NO RECALLS ON MINE BUT TO BRING IT IN ANYWAY.
CAR SHAKES WHEN DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY..
I EXPERIENCED A HARD BRAKE PEDAL AT LOW SPEED WITH MINIMAL STOPPING PRIOR TO THE VEHICLE BEING RECALLED FOR THE BRAKE VACUUM PUMP ISSUE THAT WAS TO REPROGRAM THE ELECTRONIC BRAKE CONTROL MODULE. THE RECALL HAS BEEN PERFORMED IN EARLY DECEMBER 2019 AND SINCE THE RECALL I'VE EXPERIENCED THE HARD BRAKE PEDAL WITH INCREASED STOPPING DISTANCE SEVERAL TIMES AT LOW SPEED AND IN ONE PARTICULAR INSTANCE A TRAILER WAS IN TOW AS I WAS MANEUVERING INTO A PARKING SPOT. THE RECALL IN MY OPINION WAS NOT THE ACTUAL SOLUTION TO A POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ISSUE.
2 BRAKE SPECIFIC PROBLEMS. 1.) BACKING OUT MY DRIVEWAY (SLOPED DOWNHILL)AT LOW SPEED, I HEAR THE THE VEHICLES ANTI-LOCK BRAKE SYSTEM ENGAGE. CAUSING SLOW STOPPING DISTANCE. IT DOES NOT TRIGGER ANY WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH. 2.) WHILE BACKING UP INTO A PARKING SPACE, VEHICLES BRAKE PEDAL BECAME ROCK HARD AND HAD TO USE GREAT PRESSURE WITH BOTH FEET TO STOP VEHICLE. I PUT IT IN DRIVE JUST TO SEE ANY DIFFERENCE- SAME ROCK HARD PEDAL. PARKED, SHUT VEHICLE OFF, AND WENT INTO RESTAURANT. AFTER AN HOUR INSIDE, RETURNED TO VEHICLE TO GO HOME. BRAKE PEDAL WAS BACK TO NORMAL.
OUR 2016 CHEVY SILVERADO 1500 TRANSMISSION STARTED KNOCKING, PINGING, AND HESITATING. WE CONTACTED THE DEALERSHIP AND THEY DIAGNOSED THAT WE NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION.THIS VEHICLE IS ONLY 3.5 YEARS OLD. IT SHOULD NOT BE RESPONDING THE WAY. I NOTICED ONLINE THAT A CLASS ACTION LAWSUIT IS BEING FILED, HOWEVER, GM DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE LAWSUIT YET.
I WILL DRIVE DOWN THE ROAD AND THE DISPLAY GOES BLACK ON DASH AND I HEAR CLICKING SOUND AND TRUCK SHUTS OFF. STEERING WHEEL HAS LOCKED UP MAKING TURNS, LEFT OR RIGHT. ISSUES MOSTLY HAPPEN WHEN DRIVING EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIMES BUT HAS CUT OFF WITH SHORT TRIPS AND PARKING, BACKING IN. THESE ISSUES STARTED AROUND DEC 2019 AND INCREASED IN FREQUENCY THIS YEAR 2020.
THERE IS A RECALL FOR MY VEHICLES BRAKES, I HAVE ATTEMPTED TO HAVE THIS SERVICED AS MY BRAKES COMPLETELY WENT OUT ON ME WHILE DRIVING MY CHILDREN THIS MORNING, I SPENT HOURS ON THE PHONE TRYING TO GET DE LUZ TO UNDERSTAND THAT I CANNOT SAFELY DRIVE MY VEHICLE ON THE ROAD AS MY BRAKES DO NOT WORK CORRECTLY.. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY ONLY HELP I COULD GET WAS IF I DROVE MY TRUCK 80 MILES TO THE NEAREST DEALER WHERE I WOULD PROBABLY END UP STRANDED AS THEY ALSO WOULD NOT COVER ANY RENTAL VEHICLE. NOT TO MENTION, AFTER CALLING THIS AUTHORIZED DEALER DIRECTLY, THEY HAD INFORMED ME THAT THEY WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO SCHEDULE MY SERVICE FOR AT LEAST 3-4 WEEKS FROM NOW. THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE. I HAVE A VALID AND VERIFIED RECALL FOR A SAFETY HAZARD AND MY ONLY OPTION IS TO "DRIVE IT AND TRY NOT TO CRASH (WITH MY CHILDREN- AND THEN FIGURE OUT MY OWN RIDE 80 MILES BACK TO MY HOME AND THEN BE CAR-LESS FOR WHO KNOWS HOW LONG??)
MY VEHICLE HAS THE 6.2L V8 AND THE 8 SPEED TRANSMISSION! THE TRANSMISSION WAS SERVICED FOR SHUTTERING AT VARIOUS SPEEDS, HOWEVER STILL CONTINUES TO SHIFT VERY HARD GOING UP IN GEARS BUT MORE SO WHEN DOWN SHIFTING. IT SEEMS AS IF IT DOESN'T KNOW WHICH GEAR TO GO IN. IT LURCHES FORWARD AT TIMES WHEN COMING TO A STOP AS WELL! THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THIS NORMAL FOR THAT TRANSMISSION HOWEVER I DISAGREE! MY VEHICLE HAS 55000 MILES ON IT!
IN A PARKING GARAGE AND TRYING TO MANEUVER INTO A PARKING STALL. THE BRAKE PEDAL BECAME VERY HARD. THE ABS LIGHT FLASHED MOMENTARILY AND WENT OUT. THERE WERE NO POWER BRAKES AND VERY LITTLE EFFECT TO STANDING ON THE BRAKE PEDAL. PUT VEHICLE IN PARK AND RESTARTED IT. CONTINUED TO HAVE NO OR LIMITED BRAKES. WENT ON TO ANOTHER PARKING STALL WHERE NO ONE ELSE AROUND. CREPT INTO SPOT. WHEN ARRIVED BACK FROM TRIP, BRAKES WERE FINE. CALLED LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP AND THEY REPLACED VACUUM PUMP FREE OF CHARGE. HAS ONLY HAPPENED 2 TIMES SINCE THEM. ALL IN PARKING LOTS AT VERY LOW SPEEDS.
MY TRUCK SHAKES FROM THE MOMENT WE PULL OFF FROM A STOP AND SHAKES UNTIL WE GET UP TO 70MPH. WE HAD AN ALIGNMENT AND THAT DID NOT FIX ANYTHING. GM IS FULLY AWARE OF THE ISSUE AND HAS DONE NOTHING EXCEPT PUT OUT A SERVICE BULLETIN FOR DIAGNOSTICS THAT COSTS AN ARM AND A LEG! WE CANNOT DRIVE THIS VEHICLE BECAUSE WE ARE AFRAID WE WILL LOSE CONTROL. THIS HAPPENS ON PAVED AND DIRT ROADS AND INSIDE CITY LIMIT STREETS (30 MPH) AND INTERSTATE ROADS (60MPH+). WE ARE ALSO AFRAID TO DRIVE THE TRUCK FEARING THAT IT WOULD GET WORSE AND THE DRIVESHAFT MIGHT DROP. $60K TRUCK SITTING IN OUR DRIVEWAY WASTING AWAY.
LOST VACUUM ON BRAKES AT LOW SPEED OR STOPPED. WAS INFORMED BY CHEVEROLET DEALERSHIP THAT THE PART I NEED IS ON BACKORDER AND COULD NOT BE FIXED AT THIS TIME. WAS ALSO TOLD THAT GM DOES NOT CONSIDER THIS PROBLEM TO CAUSE THE TRUCK TO BE UNSAFE EVEN THOUGH I DO NOT FEEL SAFE. THEY ALSO INFORMED ME THAT THEY EXTENDED THE WARRANTY ON THIS PART BECAUSE THEY WERE HAVING SO MANY ISSUES WITH IT. IN MY OPINION IT SHOULD BE A RECALL AND THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO PROVIDE ME WITH THE PART NEEDED TO KEEP MY TRUCK SAFE TO DRIVE. THE DEALERSHIP MADE ME SIGN SOMETHING TO BE ABLE TO LEAVE WITH MY TRUCK. APPROACHING INTERSECTION STOP LIGHT, TRIED TO APPLIED THE BRAKES AND THE PEDAL WENT TO THE FLOOR NO BRAKES AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. WAS FORCED TO USE THE EMERGENCY BRAKE TO STOP BUT STILL HAD COLLISION WITH ANOTHER VEHICLE. AFTER THE DEALERSHIP REVIEWED THE BRAKES IT WAS DETERMINED THAT THE RIGHT FRONT BRAKE CALIPER MOUNTING BOLT WAS MISSING WHICH ALLOWED THE CALIPER TO ROTATE OFF OF THE ROTOR AND CLEAR THE PISTON FROM THE ROTOR SURFACE AND THEN THE PISTON WAS FORCED OUT OF THE CYLINDER AND LOSS OF BRAKE FLUID RESULTED.
BRAKES WHEN BEING APPLIED UNDER LOW SPEEDS IS NOT STOPPING THE VEHICLE.
AT 44,000 MILES THE OIL PAN LEAKED. TOOK IT TO CHEVY DEALERSHIP, HAD IT FIXED. I HAVE 47000 MILES ON IT NOW. SAME ISSUE HAPPENED, TOOK IT TO CHEVY DEALERSHIP, THE DEALERSHIP SAID IT WAS THE OIL PAN AND HAS TO ORDER A WHOLE NEW OIL PAN. THEN THE DEALERSHIP CALLS ME BACK AND TELLS ME I HAVE BAD OIL COOLING LINES, BUT WANTS ME TO PAY FOR IT. NO WAY, SORRY. CHEVY NEEDS TO STOP MAKING CHEAP JUNK. TRUCK IS 3 YRS OLD AND LESS THEN 50K MILES. I HAVE HAD A FEW OTHER ISSUES WITH THIS TRUCK IN THE 3 YRS TIME. OIL COOLING LINES KEEPS THE OIL INSIDE THE ENGINE FROM GETTING TO HOT. IT CAN BE A HAZARD FOR THE LINES TO LEAK AND OR THE OIL TO GET TO HOT AND RUIN THE ENGINE CAUSING MAJOR ISSUES WITH PUTTING BUILDS ALL OVER THE HIGHWAYS. OIL COOLING LINES SHOULD BE INCLUDED IN A POWERTRAIN WARRANTY AND NOT BUMPER TO BUMPER. SOMETHING LIKE THESE OIL COOLING LINES ONLY LAST FOR 3 YRS SHOULD OR LESS THAN 50K MILES IS UNCALLED FOR AND SHOULD BE REPLACED UNDER A RECALL! PERIOD! CHEVY AND GM HAS WENT THE CHEAP ROUTE AND THEIR VEHICLES ARE NOT WORTH THE MONEY. WILL NEVER, EVER TELL SOMEONE TO BUY A AMERICA MADE PRODUCT LIKE CHEVY/GM.
STARTED BY VEHICLE WITH REMOTE START. REAR WINDOW DEFROST WAS ON. I DID HEAR SOME CRACKLING NOISE BY THE WINDOW, BUT AFTER GETTING THINGS AROUND FORGOT ABOUT IT. 20 MINUTES OR SO INTO MY DRIVE I STARTED TO SMELL SOMETHING HOT/ELECTRICAL. NOTICED THE REAR DEFROST WAS STILL ON SO I SHUT THAT OFF TOO SEE IF THAT WAS CAUSING THE HOT SMELL. MOMENTS LATER THE SECTION OF REAR WINDOW ON THE DRIVERS SIDE EXPLODED WITH A LOUD BANG. ALL THE GLASS IN THAT SECTION WAS SHATTERED AND EVENTUALLY FELL OUT THAT BACK (LUCKILY NOT INSIDE). I WAS UNDER MOTION WHEN IT HAPPENED, BUT IT WAS ON A SMOOTH ROAD, NOTHING OVERHANGING ABOVE (LIKE LINES THAT COULD DROP ICE) AND NOT TRAFFIC NEAR ME. THE GLASS PATTERN APPEAR LIKE THE GLASS WAS BLOWN OUT, NOT INWARD LIKE IF IT HAD BEEN IMPACTED BY AN OBJECT.
TOOK MY TRUCK IN FOR THE BRAKE ISSUE RECALL BECAUSE I WAS EXPERIENCING LOSS OF BRAKES AT LOW SPEEDS. I WOULD PRIMARILY SEE THIS WHEN STUCK IN SLOW MOVING TRAFFIC OR BACKING MY TRUCK UP TO THE TRAILER.....ETC. I TOOK IT INTO THE DEALERSHIP FOR THE RECALL WHICH THEY SUPPOSEDLY PERFORMED AND FIXED. WELL 2 MONTHS LATER I AM STILL EXPERIENCING THE SAME ISSUE. I WAS PULLING INTO THE GARAGE THE OTHER DAY AND IT WOULDN'T STOP WHICH CAUSED ME TO HIT MY DIRT BIKES SITTING IN FRONT OF ME. ANOTHER TIME I WAS PULLING UP TO A STOP LIGHT AND CAME TO COMPLETE STOP THEN I LET OFF THE BRAKES AND THEN PRESSED THEM AGAIN AND WHEN I DID THIS I HAD TO MASH IT ALL THE WAY TO FLOOR AND IT SOUNDED LIKE THE ABS WERE LOCKING UP OR MAKING A NOISE. I CAME SO CLOSE TO HITTING A PEDESTRIAN IN THE CROSS WALK. SO IN ALL SINCE THE "FIX" 2 MONTHS AGO I HAVE HAD THEM FAIL AND HIT SOMETHING IN MY GARAGE, AND 2 VERY CLOSE CALLS OF ALMOST HITTING ANOTHER CAR OR PERSON. I HAVE EXPERIENCED THIS SINCE ABOUT 15K MILES ON THE VEHICLE AND CURRENTLY I HAVE 55K ON IT. THIS SEEMS TO HAPPEN VERY RANDOMLY AS IN I COULD DO THE SAME THING AGAIN (PULL INTO GARAGE) AND IT WORKS FINE ONE TIME THEN THE NEXT NOT WORK AT ALL.
ERRATIC STEERING AND SLOW SPEED?S JERKY CAR DIES GROUND PROBLEM
I HAD TAKEN MY TRUCK INTO THE DEALER TO GET AN UPDATE FOR A BARKING ISSUE. A MONTH LATER I AM NOTICING HARD STOPS WHEN BRAKING. CONTACTED THE DEALER AND THEY STATED IT'S A VACUUM PUMP ISSUE. IM SURPRISED THAT THIS IS NOT A RECALL AS THERE HAVE BEEN ALMOST 500 COMPLAINTS FILED.
WHEN I STARTED TO PULL OFF FROM A RED LIGHT DRIVING THE VEHICLE AROUND 30-35 MPH THE TACHOMETER STARTS JUMPING 150 TO 200 RPMS AND A RATTLE STARTS COMING FROM UNDER THE TRUCK. I BELIEVE IT IS THE TORQUE CONVERTER STARTING TO COME APART. I'VE TALKED TO SEVERAL MECHANIC SHOPS AND THEY STATED THIS WAS A COMMON ISSUE WITH THESE TRUCKS. THIS TRUCK HAS ROUGHLY 70K MILES ON IT. JUST AS THE WARRANTY WENT OUT OF COURSE.WHEN THIS STARTED OCCURRING I WAS STARTING TO MOVE AT A RED LIGHT WHEN IT CHANGED TO GREEN ON CITY STREET.
HARD PETAL AT EXTREMLY LOW SPEEDS SINCE I PURCHASED THE VEHICLE. DEALER DID RECALL PROGRAMMING CHANGE BUT BRAKES ARE STILL AN ISSUE AT VERY LOW SPEED AND ALSO VERY HARD BRAKING BACKING UP MY TRAILER OR BOAT.

IN ADDITION, THE VEHICLE EXPERIENCED HESITATION AND VIBRATIONS WHILE DRIVING WITH THE CHECK ENGINE WARNING LIGHT ILLUMINATED. THE CONTACT INDICATED THAT WHILE THE FAILURES WERE PRESENT, THE DIAGNOSTIC CODE READER INDICATED THAT THE TRANSMISSION WAS DEFECTIVE. THE CAUSE OF FAILURES WERE NOT DETERMINED. THE LOCAL DEALER KELLER CHEVROLET (700 CADILLAC LN, HANFORD CA) WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURE BUT NO ASSISTANCE WAS OFFERED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 87,000.
TOOK MY TRUCK IN FOR THE RECALL ON BRAKES. DEALER PERFORMED THE RECALL SERVICE. BRAKES STILL EXHIBIT PROBLEMS. BRAKES BECOME MUSHY AT LOW SPEED AFTER APPLYING BRAKES GENTLY, THEN MOVING FORWARD SLIGHTLY AT LOW SPEED BRAKES SEEM TO COLLAPSE AND EXHIBIT A LOW GRUMBLING NOISE. PADS AND ROTORS ARE GOOD, SO NOT THE ISSUE. IT LEAVES ME WONDERING IF RECALL WAS DONE OR DONE CORRECTLY. *TR
I BOUGHT THIS VEHICLE WITH ABOUT 20000 MILES , RIGHT AFTER I HIT ABOUT 28000 I NOTICED THAT MY SECOND OR THIRD GEAR ON MY TRANSMISSION STARTED JERKING . IS ALWAYS DOING IT WHEN IS COLD AND ALWAYS AT THE FIRST START OF THE DAY. I ALSO NOTICED WHEN DOWNSHIFTING IT MAKES A LOUD CLONKING SOUND. I TOOK IT TO THE DEALER AND THEY OF COURSE TOLD ME IT WAS NOTHING . I DO NOT TOW ANYTHING HEAVY I ONLY USE MY TRUCK TO GO TO WORK . IM PRETTY SURE THIS IS NOT NORMAL . UNFORTUNATELY I HAVEN'T ABLE TO GET IT FIX SINCE REPAIRS FOR TRANSMISSIONS ARE EXPENSIVE AND THIS VEHICLE IS OUT OF WARRANTY. *TR
TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 2016 CHEVROLET SILVERADO. WHILE DRIVING 45 MPH, THE BRAKE PEDAL WAS HARD AND DEPRESSED TO THE FLOOR WITHOUT WARNING. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED TO EAST SYRACUSE CHEVROLET 1 CHEVY DR, EAST SYRACUSE, NY 13057 (315) 437-3311 WHERE DIAGNOSED THAT THE VACUUM PUMP NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE VEHICLE WAS REPAIRED HOWEVER THE FAILURE RECURRED. THE MANUFACTURE WAS CONTACTED WHO REFERRED CONTACT TO ANOTHER LOCAL DEALER. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 59,344.
I TOOK MY TRUCK IN A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO FOR A RECALL THAT HAD TO DO WITH THE BRAKING SYSTEM. WELL THE OTHER DAY WHILE DRIVING IN A PARKING LOT AT VERY LOW SPEEDS, MY BRAKE PEDAL STARTED VIBRATING AND GOT REALLY HARD, I WAS BARELY ABLE TO PRESS THE BRAKE. I SCARY SITUATION THAT I KNOW IS HAPPENING TO A LOT MORE PEOPLE WHO OWN GM TRUCKS. I HOPE YOU GUYS MAKE GM DO A SECOND RECALL FOR 2014-18 GM TRUCKS, TO REPLACE THE BRAKE BOOSTER PUMPS. MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP TOLD ME THAT IT'S A COMMON ISSUE FOR PEOPLE WHO'VE HAD THE FIRST RECALL DONE.
RECENTLY ON 12/24/2019 MY TRUCK STARTED LEAKING ON THE ROOF INTERIOR ABOVE THE DRIVERS SEAT. IT HAPPENED AGAIN ON 1/1/2020 AND WAS MUCH WORSE FROM THE SIDE DRIVERS DOOR TO ACROSS THE ROOF TO THE MIDDLE COUNSEL AREA. THE TRUCK WAS TAKEN IN TO A MECHANIC AND A BODY SHOP WHERE IT WAS DETERMINED THAT IT WAS THE 'SHARK FIN' RADIO ANTENNA CAUSING THE LEAK. THE TRUCK HAS UNDER 35,XXX MILES AND JUST HIT ONLY 4 YEARS OLD IN AGE. I CONTACTED GM TO SEE IF THEY COULD HELP ME AS THE BODY SHOP EXPRESSED THERE HAS BEEN OTHER GM TRUCKS IN TOWN WITH THE SAME ISSUE THAT HAVE REPORTED THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM RECENTLY. I CALLED 3 DIFFERENT PEOPLE AT GM TO SEEK HELP WITH WARRANTY OR ANY COVERAGE TO HELP WITH THE PROBLEM BUT THEY ALL EXPRESSED THERE WAS NO HELP.

THE CONTACT RECEIVED NOTIFICATION OF NHTSA CAMPAIGN NUMBER: 19V645000 (SERVICE BRAKES, HYDRAULIC). THE TECHNICIAN STATED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR MAY NOT RESOLVE THE CURRENT FAILURE. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS APPROXIMATELY 71,000.

THE AIR BAGS DID NOT DEPLOY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES REPORTED AND A POLICE REPORT WAS FILED. THE VEHICLE WAS TOWED BY ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE TO EVERETT CHEVROLET BUICK GMC (161 US HWY 70 SE, HICKORY, NC 28602, (828) 393-0876) WHERE IT WAS IN THE PROCESS OF BEING DIAGNOSED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE DRIVER'S DOOR AND FRONT BUMPER WERE DAMAGED. THE CONTACT'S INSURANCE COMPANY SENT AN ADJUSTER TO THE DEALER WHO DEEMED THE VEHICLE WITH NEEDING COSMETIC REPAIRS. I BOUGHT A BRAND NEW 2016 SILVERADO IN 2016 AND HAVE PUT 72000 (HIGHWAY) MILES ON IT. TOOK IT IN TO MY LOCAL CHEVY DEALERSHIP BECAUSE OF A TRANSMISSION SHUDDER AND HESITATING WHILE ACCELERATING AND WHINE RIGHT BEFORE SHIFTING TO THE NEXT GEAR. TORQUE CONVERTER IS FAILING SENDING METAL SHAVINGS THROUGH MY TRANSMISSION AND DESTROYING IT. A BILL OF GREATER THAN 5500 FOR THIS TRANSMISSION IS ABSURD BUT NOT AS CRAZY AS A 3 YEAR OLD TRANSMISSION FAILING ON YOU.
I WAS DRIVING NORMALLY AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STARTED WANTING TO DOWNSHIFT FROM 5TH OR 6TH GEAR TO 2ND OR 3RD GEAR WHEN GOING UP A TINY INCLINE WHICH NORMALLY WOULDN'T BE CAUSE FOR ANY DOWNSHIFT. I SAW IT WAS FUNKY AND A MILE LATER, I LOST ALL POWER AND HAD A VARIETY OF CHECK ENGINE LIGHTS. I PULLED OVER, CLEARED THEM AND RESTARTED THE TRUCK. IT LET ME DRIVE IN FIRST GEAR FOR A LITTLE WHILE UNTIL I REACHED A STOPLIGHT AND COULD NOT GO ANYWHERE. TOWED THE VEHICLE OUT OF THE INTERSECTION THANKS TO MY FRIEND AND PUT IT ON A TOW TRUCK TO THE DEALERSHIP. THEY SAID THE TRANSMISSION FLUID PUMP FAILED AND EXPLODED, SENDING METAL CHUNKS ALL THROUGHOUT MY TRANSMISSION. THEY SAID IT WOULD COST $4500 FOR A GM REBUILT 6L-80 AS IT WAS AT 98K MILES AND WAS NO LONGER UNDER ANY WARRANTIES. I DRIVE VERY CAUTIOUSLY AND ALMOST NEVER ALLOW RPM'S TO GO ABOVE 2500, NEVER SHIFT FROM REVERSE OR DRIVE TO ANY OTHER GEARS UNLESS FULLY STOPPED, AND DO MOST OF MY DRIVING ON THE HIGHWAY. SO A MONTH LATER AND 4 GRAND LATER, MY TRUCK IS RUNNING AND DRIVING AGAIN.
LOW SPEED BRAKE HESITATION. ALMOST FEELS LIKE THE ANTILOCK BRAKES ARE ENGAGING AND NOW ALLOWING THE VEHICLE TO STOP. ONLY OCCURS AT LOW SPEED. NORMAL AND HIGH SPEED BRAKING IS FINE. RECALL WORK FOR THE BRAKE PRESSURE ASSIST COMPLETED 3 WEEKS AGO BUT PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS AND FEELS TO HAVE GOTTEN WORSE SINCE THE WORK WAS DONE.
MY 2016 SILVERADO 1500 PROBLEMS IS THE ALONG WITH THE LOSS OF POWER STEERING, OTHER ELECTRICAL SYSTEMS TURNS OFF INCLUDING THE RADIO, DRIVER INFORMATION CENTER, DOOR-LOCK CYCLE, AC AND THE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM. ABS AND BRAKE LIGHT TURN ON ALSO HARD TO TURN. VEHICLE COULD BE JUST ON OR DRIVING AROUND FOR HOURS OR MINUTES TIME DOESN'T MATTER IT COULD DO IT AS SOON IT TURN ON THOSE PROBLEMS APPEAR WHEN THE STABILITRAK LIGHT COMES ON.

THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BUT KEEPS GETTING WORSE EACH TIME AND WOULD NOT RESTART. HAPPENED TODAY 11/29/2019 I LET VEHICLE SIT FOR AROUND 1HR AFTER 1HR PAST VEHICLE STARTED LIKE NORMAL. BUT SAFETY ISSUE NEED RESOLVED!
HARD PETAL AT LOW SPEEDS. DEALER DID RECALL BUT BRAKES ARE NOW WORSE. RECALL DID NOT WORK. WORSE WHEN IN DRIVE THROUGH OR SLOW STOP AND GO TRAFFIC.
FIRST OFF THE BRAKES HAVE FAILED ON ME A BUNCH OF TIMES. I BROUGHT IT TO THE DEALER BEFORE THE RECALLS STARTED AND THEY SAID IT WAS NORMAL. THE PROBLEM GOT WORSE CAUSING TWO LOW SPEED ACCIDENTS WITH NO DAMAGE BUT SCARY. NOTE I HAVE TWO KIDS IN THE CAR. BEEN IN FOR MULTIPLE RECALLS. ONE ACCIDENT HAPPENED IN A DRIVE THRU AND ONE IN MY DRIVEWAY. BOTH WERE FRONT END COLLISIONS BUT NO DAMAGE. SECOND THE TRUCK SHAKES AT HIGHER SPEEDS.STARTING AT 24MPH UP TO 80. MY KIDS TEETH SHATTER IN THE BACK. THAT'S HOW BAD IT IS. DEALERS SAID THERE IS NO FIX FOR THAT SO I STARTED BY RE BALANCING MY TIRES AND AFTER THAT DIDN'T WORK I GOT NEW TIRES. STILL HAVE THE ISSUE AND ITS MORE OF A HEADACHE TO BRING IT INTO THE DEALER CAUSE THEY DON'T WANT TO FIX IT OR CAN'T. CURRENTLY ON 40,000 MILES ON MY TRUCK AND ALREADY HAD A MULTITUDE OF ISSUES WITH OIL PUMP FAILURE, STEERING COLUMN REPLACED DUE TO MOVING HORIZONTAL. SEAT ISSUES THEY COULDN'T FIX SO HAD TO REPLACE THE BRACKET AND BRAKES ARE ONGOING.

BOWSER CHEVROLET (201 7TH AVE, BEAVER FALLS, PA) STATED THAT THE DOOR LOCK ACTUATOR WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT NOTIFIED OF THE FAILURES. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 70,000.
WARRANTY ENDED IN JULY 2019. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON IN NOV 2019 WITH A P050D CODE. VEHICLE ONLY HAS 32,0000 MILES. TOOK IT TO DEALERSHIP (AUTONATION CHEVROLET IN GILBERT, AZ) AND WAS TOLD TWO FUEL INJECTORS WERE THE CAUSE AND NEEDED REPLACED. THE DEALERSHIP SAID ONE OF THE INJECTOR FUEL RODS AND GASKET WAS INSTALLED BACKWARDS AT THE FACTORY. I PUSHED FOR GM TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR SINCE NO PREVIOUS INJECTOR WORK HAD BEEN DONE. THE EXCEPTION WAS CLEANING THE INJECTORS AS PART OF ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, WHICH OCCURRED IN AUG 2019 AND WAS COMPLETED AT DEALERSHIP. GM AGREED TO PAY HALF THE COST OF REPAIR. HOWEVER, I WHOLEHEARTEDLY BELIEVE THEY SHOULD'VE PAID THE ENTIRE COST SINCE THIS WAS CAUSED BY A FACTORY DEFECT. I BELIEVE THIS SHOULD BE LOOKED INTO BECAUSE IF MY INJECTORS WERE INSTALLED INCORRECTLY AT THE FACTORY, CHANCES ARE OTHER VEHICLES HAVE THEM INSTALLED INCORRECTLY AS WELL.

THE MANUFACTURER WAS NOT CONTACTED. THE VEHICLE WAS NOT REPAIRED. THE APPROXIMATE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 58,500.
