The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the accelerator pedal was depressed, and the vehicle hesitated before jolting into the next gear. The contact stated that the check engine warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the vehicle occasionally lost automotive power while depressing the accelerator pedal. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who was able to retrieve DTC: P0452; and recommended that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred. The contact had taken the vehicle back to the same mechanic and was advised that the fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.
In light of the recalls for other Silverado Fuel Pumps, I believe an investigation should be initiated for vehicles like mine that are part of the same manufacturer but were not part of the original recall. Right when this recall was announced my Silverado which is in excellent condition and has only 73,000 miles on it has a failing fuel pump, communicated by a check engine light and coded for the fuel pump failure. According to my dealer the cost to replace is almost 2,000 dollars. A fuel pump in a heavy duty truck should not fail after only 73000 miles.
Code: P2635 Fuel pump ‘A’ low flow/ performance It only happens when it’s warm outside. It was doing this last summer and during the winter it stopped now it’s 80 degrees + outside it’s throwing the code again

The contact's husband owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The contact initially took the vehicle to Robideaux Motors CO. (51 W Dalton Ave, Coeur d'Alene, ID 83815) where a diagnostic test showed error codes for the fuel injectors. The contact then took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where another diagnostic test was performed and the mechanic suggested that all that 8-fuel injectors be replaced. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to TSB: N182198000. The vehicle was then taken to another dealer where the contact was notified that the vehicle was not included in the technical service bulletin. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure and the contact was provided an estimate for the repair. The vehicle was not repaired and remained in the dealer's possession. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.

MY 2017 (1500) SILVERADO LTZ RUNS ROUGH WHEN EVER THE TRUCK IS IN MOTION. IT EVEN RUN ROUGH WHEN IT'S PARKED AND NOT MOVING. THE SHIFTING IS ROUGH AS WELL. FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN I'M AT A RED LIGHT, A STOP SIGN OR JUST AT A COMPLETE STOP, I HAVE TO TAKE OFF FAST BECAUSE IF I TAKE OFF SLOWLY, MY TRUCK WILL JERK INCREDIBLY HARD. I TURNED ON MY TRUCK ONE MORNING AND IT JUST WAS SHAKING SO BAD AND OUT OF CONTROL. I TOOK MY TRUCK TO A CHEVROLET DEALERSHIP TO GET A DIAGNOSIS DONE AND I HAVE 3 BAD FUEL INJECTORS. THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME ABOUT $1400 FOR THE REPAIRS, NOT HAPPENING. GM HAS ISSUED FREE REPAIRS FOR THESE INJECTORS SINCE THEY'RE A COMMON PROBLEM WITHIN THESE TRUCKS BUT THEY'RE ONLY ALLOWING THE FREE REPAIRS DONE IN 13 STATES AND MY STATE, (IDAHO) IS NOT ONE OF THEM. IT'S A 4 YEAR OLD TRUCK WITH ONLY 43,000 MILES ON IT. I SHOULDN'T HAVE A REPAIR THAT'S OVER $1,000 DOLLARS. THAT DOESN'T SIT RIGHT WITH ME AND IT WOULDN'T SIT RIGHT WITH YOU IF YOU WERE IN MY SHOES. IM AFRAID I'LL BE STRANDED OUT ON THE ROAD WITH A FAIRLY PERFECTLY NEW, LOW MILEAGE TRUCK. THIS IS NOT A OWNERS PROBLEM, IT'S A GM PROBLEM THAT SHOULD BE COVERED BY THEM, NOT BY THE OWNERS.
THE TRUCK HAS A TRANSMISSION ISSUE THAT CAUSES THE TRANSMISSION TO POP AND JOLT BETWEEN SOME OF THE LOWER, IN -CITY GEARS. IT PUTS A STRAIN ON THE POWERTRAIN AND CAUSES THE TRUCK TO JERK AND DELAY FOR A MINUTE.
A FEW MONTHS AFTER PURCHASING FROM DEALER CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON SOLID. BROUGHT TO DEALER. VEHICLE WAS SHAKING AND RUNNING ROUGH..DEALER DIAGNOSED ISSUE AS FAULTY FUEL PRESSURE SENSOR. THEY REPLACED THE PART THROUGH MY EXTENDED WARRANTY. A FEW MONTHS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CANE ON BLINKING SAME ISSUE VEHICLE SHAKING AND RUNNING ROUGH. TOOK TO DEALER IMMEDIATELY. THEY DIAGNOSED AS BAD FUEL INJECTOR. THEY CLAIMED THE ECM WENT BAD CAUSED BY THE BAD FUEL INJECTOR. THEY REPLACED ECM AND FUEL INJECTORS COSTING THOUSANDS. THEY CONVINCED ME I HAD TO PAY FOR A "PLATINUM FUEL INJECTION SERVICE" AFTER IT WAS REPLACED. THIS WAS ANOTHER $300. I WAS PROMISED THE ISSUE WAS FIXED. I WAS TOLD IF CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON FOR SAME ISSUE IT WOULD BE COVERED "UNDER GOOD FAITH"...WELL 2 WEEKS LATER THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME BACK ON AFTER HARDLY EVEN USING THE TRUCK... I HAD MY FAMILY IN THE TRUCK FOR A PLANNED FAMILY EVEN AND HAD TO PULL OFF IN THE SWELTERING HEAT TO PAY FOR A TOW TRUCK TO COME GET MY VEHICLE....NOW IT SITS OVER AT THE DEALER AGAIN...THEY WANT ME TO PAY A DIAGNOSTIC AGAIN. AND IT HAS NOT EVEN BEEN LOOKED AT. FOR THE AMOUNT I PAID FOR THIS TRUCK IT IS DANGEROUS UNTRUSTWORTHY AND EMBARRASSING. UPON STARTUP.. ENGINE IDLE WAS ROUGH. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. CODE P050D WAS FOUND. TOOK IT TO A MECHANIC AND THE INJECTORS ARE BAD
ALL FUEL INJECTORS IN "BANK 1" BECAME FAULTY AND NEED REPLACING IMMEDIATELY WITH LITTLE TO NO WARNING OF ISSUES. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AFTER MULTIPLE INJECTORS BECAME FAULTY. CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON WHILE TRAVELING ON A STRAIGHT ROAD AFTER 2 MINUTES OF HIGHWAY TRAVEL GOING 70 MPH. *LN CONSUMER STATED I'D LIKE TO ADD THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION TO MY REPORT. AFTER LOOKING FURTHER ON THE NHTSA WEBSITE, I CAME ACROSS INFORMATION IN THE 'MANUFACTURER COMMUNICATIONS' SECTION OF THE WEBSITE PERTAINING TO 2017 CHEVROLET SILVERADO 1500'S. THE NHTSA ID NUMBER IS 10163854, AND MANUFACTURER COMMUNICATION NUMBER IS N182198000. IN THIS LETTER IT EXPLAINS ISSUES WITH BANK 1 FUEL INJECTORS, AND WHAT I EXPERIENCED WITH MY PICKUP. UNDER THE 'CONDITIONS' SECTION OF THIS LETTER, PAGE 1, MY VEHICLE MEETS ALL THE CONDITIONS ASIDE FROM LIVING IN WYOMING AND NOT ONE OF THE 13 STATES LISTED. MY PICKUP IS A 2017 CHEVROLET SILVERADO WITH A 5.3L ENGINE, THE MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LAMP ILLUMINATED, I TOOK MY VEHICLE TO GARVIN MOTORS IN POWELL, WY, AND THEY SAID A DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE RETURNED WITH FUEL TO AIR RATIO ISSUE IN BANK 1. UPON FURTHER DIAGNOSTICS IT WAS REVILED THE FUEL INJECTORS NEED REPLACING IN BANK 1, JUST AS STATED IN THIS LETTER FROM GM. I HAVE BEEN IN CONTACT WITH TWO GM DEALERS IN THE AREA, AND I HAVE BEEN QUOTED TWO PRICES TO REPLACE PARTS LISTED ON THIS DOCUMENT FROM GM. I HAVE ALSO REACHED OUT TO GM, AND THEY SAID THEY WILL RESEARCH THIS LETTER MORE AND GET BACK WITH ME. I AM NOW TWO WEEKS WITHOUT A VEHICLE WHILE THE DEALERSHIP IS DEMANDING I MAKE A DECISION TO HAVE REPAIRS DONE, HOW I WILL BE ABLE TO PAY FOR REPAIRS UPON COMPLETION, AND GM CUSTOMER SUPPORT WILL NOT TAKE MY CALLS WITH TELLING ME THEY WILL BE CALLED BACK. I HAVE SPOKEN TO GM THREE TIMES ABOUT THIS WITH EACH TIME STATING THEY NEED TO LOOK INTO THE MATTER FURTHER. MY 2017 SIVERADO WITH LESS THAN 50,000 MILES IS AT THE DEALERSHIP, DUE TO A DEFECTIVE FUEL INJECTOR ON THE #7 CYLINDER. I AM BEING TOLD IT IS NOT UNDER WARRANTY, AND THAT I WILL HAVE TO BARE THE COST OF THE REPAIR. I DO NOT FEEL THAT ON A TWO YEAR OLD VEHICLE, THAT THE FUEL INJECTOR SHOULD FAIL, NOR SHOULD I BARE THE COST OF REPLACEMENT. I AM NOT ASKING FOR A RESOLUTION, I JUST WANT OTHER TO BE AWARE OF THE DEFECT.
MY 2017 SILVERADO 1500, WHILE AT A STOP LIGHT WAS IDLING ROUGH AND CHECK ENGINE LIGHT CAME. SO WHEN I BROUGHT THE TRUCK IN FOR A SECOND RECALL. THE DEALER SAID THEY COULD DO A DIAGNOSTIC. WELL THEY SAID IT WAS MISS FIRING DUE TO BAD FUEL INJECTOR CYLINDER 8 WASN'T WORKING SO THEY GAVE ME A PRICE OF 1500 TO FIX THE PROBLEM UNFORTUNATELY WE JUST GOT OUT FROM THE FACTORY WARRANTY AND HAD EXTENDED WARRANTY THAT DIDN'T COVER FUEL INJECTORS SO WE PUT LUCAS FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER AND IT HELPED. IT SEEMS AS IF THERE ARE A LOT OF COMPLAINTS FOR THIS REASON.
VEHICLE HESITATION AND SURGES IN ACCELERATION. THIS CONDITION IS A SAFETY ISSUE AS IT HESITATES PULLING INTO TRAFFIC, SURGES IN ACCELERATION HAVE CAUSED LOSS OF TIRE TRACTION ON ICE COVERED ROADWAYS NEARLY RESULTING IN A COLLISION. DEALERS HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED AN ISSUE BUT ADVISE THEY ARE STILL WAITING ON A FIX FROM GM.
